Giant Eagle Supermarket in other cities:
Excellent selection of fresh produce, craft beverages, hot foods, salads, ready to warm or cook at home entrees, along with the normal grocery selection, that I expect from a modern supermarket. Friendly staff willing to prepare things for you to pick up. Spotless clean attractive and well ordered environment. Good selection of beer and wines and a state store for higher proof beverages. The inclusion of the bank with extended same day deposit credit make it a great location for One Stop shopping and conducting your banking needs.
I used the ladies room and have never been more disgusted. 1) The baby changing station had over 10 rolls of toilet paper on it. 2) The toilet paper roll holder (3 rolls) was completely empty. 3) There was lettuce and old food on the ground by the sink 4) The sink and mirror were COVERED in gross marks. 5) The door and handles were dirty. 6) The toilet itself was so dirty that a fly was actually circling the toilet! I hope he made it out of there for his own sake! 6) the hand dryer was disgusting as well. 7) The trash can was full. DO BETTER GIANT EAGLE ITS A FLIPPING PANDEMIC AND I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT YOUR OTHER AREAS LOOK LIKE NOW. We will not be going back to this GE but I’m guessing if they don’t care about their cleanliness they probably don’t care that they lost a customer.
Your cashier initially refused to honor a free item and kept arguing no. There was a physical sign at the department that said you only need your advantage card, however the cashier said it only works with an E-coupon. Okay, so I have the app and showed her and she scanned it and still refused to honor it. I was polite throughout this entire interaction and helping her. In the end she rudely said, there I did it. Why try to argue about a free item when theres a physical sign in the store and the coupon is in the app. Ive worked in customer service for years and I have never argued with a customer, seems like this behavior is tolerated at this location, as another worker came by and said it was my fault I didnt have the coupon ready. Please take a look at all your negative reviews and how they relate to rude customer service. Do better.
I used to love to go to Giant Eagle for all of my groceries, but their isles are too small. Im small as well, but there is not enough room for carts to pass each other due to all of the clutter in the isles. Their prices are high so if I have to pay more I prefer Meijer.
Awful. Got all my stuff and checked out as normal. Nothing outstanding, but not great either. Had a somethings that I needed to go to customer service for. Stood there for at least 5 minutes, probably longer. Employees were looking over, made eye contact with me, but never came over nor did they get anyone to help. Finally just left. Made a comment to one of the employees that normally works the customer service desk, but apparently wasnt today and I was met with a blank look. The its not my job look. This isnt the first time Ive had such horrible service at this location. They had recently gotten better, but that is not the case anymore.
I used to like coming here but I just cant do it anymore. The last three times I have gone to fill my prescriptions have been a nightmare. The first time the lady told me that my insurance wasnt accepting the charge, and that I would need to call my insurance to see what was going on... 3 hours later I get a call from Giant Eagle saying they have my prescription ready and I need to go back. Huh? The second time, the lady told me my Advair was $272 some dollars, because I had no insurance. Really? Because the last time my Advair cost me like $15 and that was only a couple months ago. I told them nevermind, and that I needed the tag back so I could get my prescriptions filled. She had no idea what I was talking about and wrote on a piece of paper that my medicine is called Advair (see screenshot). The third time, today, I tried to get my rescue inhaler filled. Guess what? Theres a problem. I dont have enough units. My inhaler comes in 8.5 units, and I only have 8 left, even though it says 8.5 on the tag. Again, I will need to call my doctor. Frustrated, I stop over at the Market District by my house. 25 minutes later, I have my prescription filled, and my insurance went through just fine. Something tells me theres something going on that has nothing to do with my insurance, or my doctor. Go ahead and shop here, but stay away from the incompetent pharmacy.
Wether I need a few groceries or a lot, Giant eagle usually always has what I need. Im just not happy that they consider stove top stuffing mixes a seasonal item. Not a lot of thought when into that. Its a popular item year round. My opinion, they need to remember that not all their customers are middle-class or above.
Every time I come into this store there is NO ONE around to help me. Then the people that I finally find acts like their dog just died. Whats going on with this store? A couple years ago it was a great shopping experience and now it is terrible. So sad. This used to be my favorite store. Now I avoid it and just go to Meyers.
They are very helpful and friendly at this grocery store. The managers are willing to help and solve any issues that customers might have. One time I even left something in the cart and they replaced it for free because it was not there when I returned. Thanks for being awesome!
Every employee I encountered (and there were many) was friendly and helpful. Ive been avoiding this store since I moved here in February because I heard from many people it was expensive but I was so much happier with the selection compared to all of the other stores Ive visited and the prices were comparable and they had some pretty decent sales. I only gave it 4 stars because no place is perfect and the area of the cart where you seat your child is odd and the seat belt is really short and barely fit my son and I had to try 2 carts to get that which made for an unhappy 2 year old at the beginning of the shopping trip.. Otherwise, all was good. They even do carry outs still!!
Giant Eagle wasnt too bad but customers dont pay attention to the stuff on the floor that got them are oh so people go one way in the aisles in Giant Eagle employees dont give a damn but I do. You know I get upset when I have to deal with it I dont move I stand in the middle of the aisle naked mad I says well too bad youre going the wrong way somewhat it dont make a difference to those arrows on the floor do so you need to do something about it how do I say Im going to quit going there
Folks are not paying attention to the “one way only” arrows in the aisles. You ‘mite as well throw in the towel and give it up.Also, where is the Bob Evans Sausage Gravy and Biscuits? I have seen none in two months. Also like the Arizona Diet Zero Ice Tea... please keep it in stock, tends to sell out as soon as it hits the shelves. That is all...Thanks,Bill CookStow, Ohio
The produce is over priced and low quality. I used to shop here regularly but do not anymore. In my experience they give little regard to the customer. Like if i ONLY want 4 hamburger buns instead of 8...i cannot get that. Im expected to buy what they tell me. Alot of employees not caring about...customer service and goofing around.
Recently ordered a small cake. I asked for black frostin all over the cake and four small roses on the top. Not what I got. It was white with red things on top that sort looked like roses. It was hastily done and not by any means what I asked for. I stopped ordering some time ago because their prices are to high. I was in a hurry so I went into order it. Never again. Stevie Wonder could of done a better job!!
I understand people need to make ends meet, but please tell your employees not to come in if they are sick. The cashier openly admitted they were ill, and and they are handling my groceries. I had already unloaded them on the belt by the time they talked about how sick they feel. At the least they could wear gloves as a courtesy to customers. I will not be back to this location..
Nice selection of produce that is old and/or rotten. Be sure to check expiration dates. Bought juice two days ago only to find out at home that the expiration date was more than two weeks ago; and, it isnt the first time. If you want fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables, dont go there.
I dont normally shop at Giant Eagle as I usually think their prices are too high. But they were the store open late tonight, I needed groceries for a party and I found everything I needed to be on sale! They have such a great selection, too; so, I may be shopping Giant Eagle more often.👍
Went in Target, filled my cart with everything on my list, except the coffee creamer they didnt have and went up front to two cashiers and the self checkout lines backed up into childrens! Grabbed my purse and walked out. Went to Giant Eagle next door, got EVERYTHING on my list, paid a little more, but was in and out in under 10 minutes. Ill take it.
Today you get a 1... This new scan as you go...no one inside to tell you a thing about it. No place defined and pointed out to get scanner. No Im not using my phone. Lines out the store....hire some people!!! Also tired of bagging myself and cant keep an eye on my bill. Get it together.

2022-04-12It once was our favorite grocery store. We used to shop there a lot. It was 24/7 but now it closes at 11 pm. Customer service is above average. Store associates are nice over all but some are not so friendly. Products are fresh usually. Only one time they had some expired milk on shelf. I told them and they replaced them immediately. I never saw it again. A little pricey but place is clean. Not as big as Market District and not so many options as Market District either. But the prices are pretty similar compared to the Meijer nearby, which is a new, 24/7 store. Although Meijer has reward card and store coupons, Giant Eagles gas perks generally save you more. However they usually open 2 cashier check outs. They normally open a third one only when they see two super long waiting lines. They have 4 small self check outs but only 1 big self check out. If you buy a lot of groceries, then you have to use the only big self check out, which can get very long too. In Meijier, they normally have at least 4 cashier check outs open and Meijer has more small self check outs. I always feel I spend more time checking out at Gaint Eagle than Meijer, which is very annoying especially in weekend. Now this Giant Eagle has Scan, Pay & Go. Very convenient and efficient. This is much better than Meijers Scan, Pay & Go. At Meijer, the cashier will still come to you and scan your items one by one again use a hand scanner to confirm your purchase, which wastes more time than the normal self check out, at least for my experiences.Update: I reduced my rating for GE from 5 to 3 based on my recent experience. Some of newer people at customer service were super rude. It happened several times to me. And the store associates were not helpful either. One time I was standing in front of the customer service desk waiting for about 5 minutes with nobody coming to help while there were several employees standing beside a checkout lane doing nothing but chatting. I ended up just leaving without solving the problem. They open more check-out lanes than Meijer, which is great!

2022-06-212nd time in 2 weeks but pricing has been wrong for a month first on red delicious and now on golden delicious 3# bag. Signs say 3.99 keeps ringing up at 4.99. I have had to start taking pictures just to prove the price because either no one is available to look or you are met with dumbfounded stares. So incorrect pricing is consistent and so are the attitudes which have always been a signature of GE employees, (we dont make mistakes). And the issue is not that no one is blaming cashiers but they take it personally when obviously someone at the store is too lazy or incompetent to take care with their job. Mistakes happen, tell your cashiers to drop the attitude and just be helpful and dont make it like the customer is trying to make off with a dollar. Would you rather sell a dozen bags of apples even for a dollar less or no apples at all and lose 3.99 per bag? Cashier tried to hide their frustration today but...they are not good actors.

2022-01-24Good condition for an older store. This location tends to be a bit dusty comparatively to other locations; bring your coffee, tea or water bottle beacuse their hvac system may leaving you wishing you had something to sip on.

2021-01-08Giant Eagle is hands down my grocery of choice, however, the last few trips have been more than disappointing and tonight was no exception. The produce was atrocious. Not only did they not have kale or beets, but the arugula was wilted and sad. I purchased this bag of mandarin oranges. I did not realize until I got home two of the oranges were rotten. The only reason I am giving it two stars is because the service is impeccable. But the selection (especially in produce) was beyond disappointing

2022-04-14I feel there prices are way to high, even before what is going on now. They are always out of things. Not a fan of the store.
