Giant Eagle Supermarket in other cities:
Its a grocery store, and it does that well. The store is clean and I can usually find what I want without having to worry about an item being in stock. Theres nothing remarkable about this grocery store vs any other grocery store. If youre looking for an experience, look elsewhere. If youre looking to feed yourself and/or your family, youll find exactly what you want here.
The bakery replaced the whoopee pie Gobs stiffer marshmallow cream filling mixture with cheap greasy too sweet very mushy cake frosting. Cost cutter profit move but Try to eat the treat and the mushy frosting is squeezed out of the pie and falls onto the plate in a mess. This frosting filling does not hold up. No thanks GE.
We went to pick up a birthday cake for a party. I had previously rated this store 4 stars but am only giving 1 star for this visit. In prior years the birthday cakes were always very good and nicely decorated. This time they lost the entire order and did not have the cake at all. When I arrived at 4:23pm there was no one in the bakery. I waited a few minutes and then went to the deli to ask them to page someone. A man arrived and looked for the cake. He could not find it so he called a second man. They could not find it so they called a third man. They could not find it so they called the manager. They could not find it so they offered to decorate another cake. The desired flavor, size & specific decoration was not available so they were going to decorate 2 smaller cakes instead for no fee. We had to go pick up pizza at another location 15 minutes in the other direction so we left and said we would come back for the cake. When we returned there was no one at the bakery or deli, so I was looking for someone who had the cakes. Eventually we found out cakes were at the service desk. We were late to the party and kids were hungry and pizza had gotten cold by then. We were upset.
Recently moved to north Royalton and frequently shop here. Never had a problem until today when the older lady who watches over self check out was extremely rude to my husband and I for no apparent reason. She also ripped open my bag of fruit, which is completely unsanitary when all she had to do was ask me to rescan the one fruit. Stood watching over us within a foot even though we were doing everything we were supposed to. Made me extremely uncomfortable when all I was trying to buy was some produce
This is the ghetto Giant Eagle, it is small, cramped, lacks variety and is under stocked. Im offended that the Giant Eagle in my neighborhood was downsized to the bad experience it now is. The help is friendly and efficient however. Guess North Royalton didnt deserve the better store we used to have.
I still feel as if the isles need to be wider, especially the main walkway between the isles and the registers. If there are more than 2 people in line, the 3rd person ends up having to stand in the middle of the main walkway, which is very inconvenient during busy hours.
Store is well organized, clean, and stocked fairly well. Could use more help on floor when trying to find something. Like most larger stores...you cannot see signs on other end of aisle. When you get there, item still isnt where you thought it would be. Fair number of registers. Not being able to unload your cart until prior customer runs his card (which is 6 from where you are waiting) just makes process even longer. As long as a full size cart is between you should good enough since you are passing people shoulder to shoulder in the aisles.
I am an early riser and shop at the North Royalton Giant Eagle in the morning. The morning cashiers must not be early risers as they are curt, surley and non-communicative. They act like they are doing me a favor for doing their job. I dont shop at stores to make friends with the employees but a pleasant attitude on their part goes a long way. I have stopped shopping at this location. Takes longer but I go to Market District and Marcs on Pearl in Strongsville.
This review is for 1 employee Meghan who was my cashier. Im at this store once a week at least. She was quick and efficient. She bagged my groceries! For the past few years I have had to bag my own groceries while the cashier waits for me to catch up. She was awesome!
I shop here several times a week. The employees ae friendly and helpful. The selection of food is great and produce is always fresh. The only suggestion the the manager should assign 1-2 more people to the deli. There is often a 10 minute or longer wait for some sliced meat.
This was my 1st time shopping here as I am new to Ohio. Every Employee I talked to was very nice and showed me what I was looking for I was excited to see they carry some of the brand names items I enjoy. The bakery and deli selections are very nice and I love the fresh meat case. The checker even gave me the giant eagle reward pricing and explained how to get my own card. Overall great shopping experience.
The no plastic bags policy in the city makes it immensely difficult to stock up on groceries in one trip. Not the stores fault but something customers and upper management should be aware of. I avoid this store now if Im planning on buying a lot, Walmart is cheaper and more convenient buying in bulk. I want to support smaller chains but theyve handcuffed themselves even more
The pharmacy is terrible! Customer service was terrible. My girlfriend was released from the hospital after given birth to our daughter and a prescription was sent to the pharmacy to be picked up. The pharmacist was rude and told come back the next day and that it wasnt a priority. I came the next morning and she said it wouldnt be ready till after 12pm. I explained again what it was for and I received the prescription which was filled the whole time. But she was very disrespectful and had a bad attitude doing her job. She, the pharmacy and the Giant Eagle store should be ashamed of themselves.
Ive been a North Royalton resident for 20 years. I have never been a fan of this store but I go strictly for convenience. Go is now past tense. I will never go here again! Within the last few weeks Ive gotten a bad watermelon, a whole chicken I bought was bad, I cut open a pepper and it was bad, the inside of a peach was rotten and the apples had no flavor. When I was waiting in line today, as usual, a gentleman in front of me had to go back and exchange a bag of carrots because the inside was all slimy. Their produce and meat are horrible. This evening was the last straw for me. I went to order some broccoli salad from the deli. The woman had an attitude and said it wasnt her side....no one was on this side! Luckily there was kind woman behind the counter that helped. There were no containers for her to put things in and there was no pricing on the salad I wanted. Everything just looked gross and dirty. I was there at 5pm.The remod has made it inconvenient to walk through the isle. There are are displays everywhere. Its impossible for two carts to pass each other. The prices have gone up and the quality has gone down, which I didnt think was possible. 3 bags and $80 later I walked out dissatisfied again. I hoped the remod would help but it did not. It looks dirty even after the remodeling. The only area I think that is semi decent is the bakery. WE NEED A NEW GROCERY STORE in our area!
Ive never really liked this store because everyone is so rude. But since the remodel I absolutely hate it. The store is so small and impossible to maneuver with a shopping cart. The staff is always rude and clearly not happy working there. Only one employee in that place is always friendly and that is Joe. Now they have some outside vendor in the produce section and they are rude and very aggressive. I went there on Thursday for one thing and the manager was yelling at everyone, the man at the customer service desk was less then helpful, and the lady in the floral section was mad that she was called to her section over the intercom and she made that very clear to me and the other customer who was waiting for her! I will NEVER go to this store again!
This place is disgusting. This store has Mold in the produce, Ive spoken to management. The meat is low poor quality..Ive brought back salmon. It was rotten. Ive complained to the store manager & corporate. My only hope is that this location shuts down. We need something better in north royalton
Stopped in to get a few things after a long hiatus of going to other stores for groceries. First time back and I remember why I left. I cut into a red pepper less than an hour after buying it and it was moldy on the inside. Never coming back. If you want better prices go to Aldi’s, if you want better food go to Romano’s.
Since they remodeled they have added some of the amenities found in the larger Giant Eagle stores such as an expanded prepared meals area, bakery, and wine and beer section. Their bakery is excellent and I find it really conveniently located near the front of the store so I can run in and pick up treats to take into work very quickly without walking all over the place.
They have a great selection of produce and frozen meals. Checkout lanes could be bigger so people can fit the cart that looks like a car comfortably. Tight space in some areas around the store to where you have to keep moving back to let others in. I like their selection of live lettuce.
Its not the best of the Giant Eagles I have been too, but it is clean and the selection isnt bad. The veggies and fruit I have looked at or purchased have been in good shape and I havent had a bad purchase. The staff is not the most helpful and I always seem to be ignored at the checkout, or second to their conversations.Other than the staff the store is worth going to.
This is a horrible grocery store with a terrible selection. Parking lot is an uneven train wreck since it was repaved. Checkout Lines are always long and never enough cash registers open. Typically when you remodel a store, it should get better. Now they have an outside company that sells their product at a table over by the beer. They are rude and harass the customers in a very aggressive manner.
The draw of Giant Eagle is meant to be fuelperks and customer service. Neither of these are worth the jacked up prices. The employees here are treated terribly so they have no incentive to treat customers any different than any other grocery store would. Fuelperks is a scam and youre better off buying your gas and groceries somewhere else, it will be cheaper. Prices are much higher than most other grocery stores with about the same selection. Dont shop here.
ALWAYS a PAIN to come here... NEVER enough registers. ALWAYS LONG LINES. CUSTOMER CARE IS NOT AT ALL OF INTEREST TO THIS STORE. GIMME YOUR MONEY IS ALL ITS ABOUT HERE.Of course they SAVE MONEY by no longer providing bags. Then WANT US TO PAY for paper ones... Yet I saw no decline in their prices... We ARE THEIR CASH COW... I avoid them unless I must shop there. Hopefully I can stop shopping here at all SOON.
I dont like going here unless its my last resort, all the milk in my fridge has spoiled, and everywhere else in the world is closed.Store redesign aside (the building owners are in control, not GE) I can never seem to find anything, they have an awkward amount of lanes open at a time (or not open, self-checkout included) and for the numbers of times I encounter somewhat friendly staff, I have run into just as many grumpy staff. Honestly, at this point my expectation is that Ill be vaguely ignored by the checkout people until they tell me my total with a sigh.Perhaps most frustrating is the inherent suspicion they cast my way any time I purchase alcohol. More than once have I gotten comments about not looking old enough to purchase those items (sorry I look young for almost thirty?) and just as often am I completely ghosted if purchasing alcohol - not even will they say my total but they stare me down, telling me You can pay at any time now. I dont mind being carded, I mind having my integrity put into question. Needless to say, Ive stopped making any alcohol purchases at this Giant Eagle just to stop the raised eyebrows and accusations of being underage.
If I could leave no stars I would this is the worst faint eagle Ive ever been to. The staff is rude I ask a simple question about where something is and they said they were to busy to tell me. Also Ive always used my Huntington card as credit here and now I have to use it as debit which doesnt make any sense they said its been something since the 16th mind you I was there last week and ran my card as credit just fine. Worst giant eagle dont go here!!!!
The only gripe I have and I have held my tongue for way too long until now...is the fresh produce. The fruits and vegetables are just terrible at this location. It has been for at least 6 years now, for me anyway.I tried and tried and re-tried to give the produce a chance but every time I bought, it would be bad by day 2.So... I buy my fresh produce down the street either at the other Giant Eagle by Highway 77 or the Marcs in Brecksville.Sorry...one more gripe....The new double doors for the entrance...REALLY Stink! They are not really double at all. They are much smaller to get through. Otherwise, one person could walk in with a cart and one person could walk out with a cart at the same time. It is not happening. The whole entrance area gets clustered and jammed up ALL of the time now. Especially, on those BUSY Saturdays or Sales days.If you look at other Giant Eagles that have these same double doors...they are not this skinny....they are actually wide double doors. They should have just left the old in and out side by side doors alone...it was smooth people traffic.
Since the remodel they have cut the store and selection in half. They run one register and force you to use self scans that constantly dont work right. Ill be taking my business to heinens. Which is unfortunate because Ive shopped at the n Royalton giant eagle for 30 years. But this is ridiculous and a shame they cut so many corners to save cost. Used to be a good grocery.
The north royalton giant eagle is a disaster. Extra long lines, and to top it off, the cashier rang my $16 order, gave me my change from a $20 and NEVER bothered to bag my items. I had to bag it myself, after everything was done. What kind of people do they have working there.
The produce section had only 5 stalks of celery, all of which were bruised, Brown and terrible looking. There were only 4 heads of cauliflower in the counter, they did not look well. I also needed broccoli, I didnt buy that either. There wasnt much to pick from there either, the shelves were also empty in many other spots for produce. Very very disappointing!
Very little selection of healthy choices, stagnant displays, no real seasonal variety, and poor pricing. Heinens is certainly more expensive on average. But quality and a more inviting environment is an expense Im happy to pay for. Every time I go to GE, I want to hang myself.
I got sushi rolls from your Giant Eagle in North Royalton off of State Road and they were excellent Ive gotten sushi rolls from Giant Eagle at Parmatown and they were mush the rice was overcooked so I recommend the ones off of State Road in North Royalton off of I-80 to I just wish they would hurry up on the construction of the parking lot I am handicapped had 5 surgeries and its kind of hard to get into yours until its
Every time I go into the Giant Eagle store in North Royalton, (which is the request of my wife), because I work for Heinens, its like walking into a morgue. If any of the cashiers smile it would probably break their face. Today the cashier never acknowledged me, and I had a bagger (which is very rare) he acted like I was making him do something like cutting his arm offI believe you need to have a customer service program that every employee has to go through after they are there after 3 months. Plus you need to establish after you hire someone before the actually start wofking on the floor.

2022-05-28This is by far the worst managed Giant Eagle grocery store in NE Ohio. The prices are NEVER right when you check out and the clerks just do not care at all. Theyll happily remove the incorrectly priced item from the computer but want absolutely no part of trying to find the right price to ensure customer satisfaction. Its hard not to feel as though this is done intentionally in the hope that shoppers wont notice, which is particularly problematic during a recession when inflation h. as most people broke and counting every penny. Its shameful either way

2022-03-23Regardless of time or purpose I only ever seem to have poor experiences at this location. Between their poor store layout, lack of organization and lack of helpful employees I always walk out in a negative mood. My experiences have been so consistently poor at this location I don’t know if I’ll ever step into this store again.2 stars only because the cart guy is nice and courteous, now that’s a 5-star employee right there!

2022-06-01Dont usually shop at Giant Eagle. Just ran in for a few things. They just started the No More plastic bag policy. Strangely the cashier just threw my items back into the shopping cart! Good thing to remember is always take in your reusable bags. Lesson learned make sure I keep them in my car!! Store was very clean, stocked and well organized!

2021-12-29This is one of two Giant Eagles that I can drive to in under 3 minutes. The plaza its in has multiple driveways that are quick and easy to access, and adequate parking close to the store. The people here are unusually friendly in my experience. The store itself is clean, and they almost always have two people cleaning carts in the outer entrance area. I think this is a nicely sized store. Its a little larger, but not a gigantic warehouse. I really like this particular setup because it allows you to quickly go to the section youre looking for instead of forcing you in a particular direction. Once you enter the store you can go in three directions easily. To the left you have services and pharmacy. Straight ahead you have floral, liquor, and the first of regular store aisles. To the right you have fresh vegetables and fruit, after which it curves left into specialty/prepared foods, bakery, wine, seafood and the deli. All in all, this is my favorite Giant Eagle.

2022-06-16Generally a pleasant store with pleasant staff. But they over fry their fried chicken to the point of the coating being burned.

2022-06-14This eagles is smaller than the one I frequent. Cant get individual bagels. Donut selection more limited. A bit surprised. Thought they all had same bakery

2021-12-23I bought a pre-cooked meal in the Deli for $10.99. The roast beef was so tough and impossible to chew and swallow. The baby carrots were hard and barely cooked. The mashed potatoes were dry and mealy and didnt seem to have had milk or butter mixed in. It was inedible. I would have done better with a frozen dinner. Very disappointed.

2022-04-19Horrible attitudes behind the customer service desk!!! I put my debit card in the wrong slot; apologized by saying “ I’m sorry hun”, to Dianne and she told me “ either call me Dianne or don’t call me anything.” 😳

2021-11-14The employees are very friendly and always helpful, I just wish the store could keep up with the specials. I can rarely find the GE sparkling water in stock when its not on sale, when it is on sale forget it!!! NONE to be found :( Im diabetic and cant drink regular pop so the sparkling water is a what I look for and prefer the GE brand over the others.
