Giant Eagle Supermarket in other cities:
This is my favorite grocery store. I know when I’m buying from Giant Eagle the products will be of high quality and freshness. I love how I can use the self-checkout. I’ve done it so much I’ve memorized the produce bar codes. This store is always clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I will drive out of my way to shop at this store. Giant Eagle offers points on their advantage card for every dollar spent. It adds up quickly and I save hundreds of dollars a year using their “perks”. Shopping here is satisfaction guaranteed!
They have a very friendly staff. They are always knowledgeable, kind and willing to help. The lines usually are not too long at this location. They offer curbside pickup, whether for grocery or pharmacy. They have hot food options, bakery, deli, meat department (get to know your meat cutters. They can improve your meals and knowledge greatly)!
Had 2 carts full and no one to help push one! Would have been nice to have had help! One person that worked there did walk behind me -- no offer to help even though he saw me struggling. He stood outside the whole time watching me - then walked back in -- maybe he said he was helping but he didnt! Store is small and cramped -- people arent the friendliest neither. Meat selection sucks! Not much to chose from. Wasnt happy with my experience.
This place is always packed bc it’s the only store in town but there is never enough employees. You are always standing in a checkout line longer than you are there to shop. Most of the employees are retirees which is great except that they cannot move fast enough to handle any checkout with speed. Maybe it’s technology or something I am not sure but I would pay more for my groceries and gladly shop anywhere else. Not worth the wasted time in line.
My wife received her 1st Covid vaccine administration from the pharmacy staff at this Giant Eagle location today. The pharmacy staff were to a person cordial, helpful, and extremely accommodating and supportive through the vaccination process. They represent Giant Eagle with integrity and professionalism, and should be commended.
Im a senior citizen and take meds for breathing. I shop early or late to avoid crowds. I used to buy from the bakery and hot foods but since restrictions and store changes that has stopped. But the other day a man at the deli counter basically chased me down 30 feet away to intimidate me to putting my scarf back up. There was no one else around. I took it down shortly to regain some air.If they had curbside pick-up I would use that, but they dont. $10 delivery charge for milk and some sausage is a bit much I think.Going just take my business across the street.
This Giant Eagle is terrible. On a busy Sunday they only have a couple registers open. Long lines. Most of the cashiers are rude and act like your bothering them. The layout is awful. Hard to find certain items. Only thing good about this store is the old dude who does carts. He is one of the only friendly ones that works there.
Used to be one of our favorite places to shop, however it now has become nothing but a nuisance to shop here. They allow random solicitors to set up tables around the store and harass the customers over and over again. Today alone, we were approached by them three times in one shopping trip. I hope management can listen to feedback about this.
Annie from the bakery was leaving after her shift was over to ask if we needed help and we said we needed a cake to be decorated for a birthday. We told her Please don’t worry about it because we saw that she was leaving for the night, but she went back behind the bakery and wrote on our cake and saved the day!! Thank you so much!!!
HEALTH DEPT. NOTIFIED.The people there are disgruntled and rude. I told the deli woman there was a hunk of meat in the window that looked discolored and slimy and she says ew ya, I should probably take that out ... No Im sorry or thank you... A guy named Bill behind the deli counter and around all the food has a scraggly beard and on multiple occasions was not wearing a beard net. I notified the health dept. Its THAT bad.
The store is clean/neat and somewhat organized. Good beer selection and A LOT of wine. The downside is check out. There are never enough lanes open. Judy is (nice but) a ridiculously slow clerk - she needs someone to bag for her at all times. Also, when there are 4 carts in line with all items still in their cart, the next clerk to open should not take the last 2 carts in line but rather the first 2. Not nice to those who have been (painfully) waiting longer.
I just wish the lines were faster. Most of the time it seems like there are enough cashiers, but they dont seem in too much of a hurry to get you in and out. I walked in today to buy two things, but I saw the lines (even at self checkout) and they were just too long to wait so I just went elsewhere.
Each time I have went the customer service desk is closed. No matter the time of day and getting someone to help you is impossible since their staff is limited. Selection on products is poor and the store is small, cramped and out dated. I will drive over an hour away by where I just moved from and go to any other Giant Eagle location there than go to this one which is less that a mile from me.
No clue how this store has high ratings. Routinely expired purchases (always check the expiration dates on coffee, beer, spices). Staff complain about their jobs and are mostly dinosaurs (well over the age of 70). Zero motivation, move slow, lethargic, genuinely don’t want to be there and will tell you as such. It’s a depressing place to shop.
Every time I go there, things are moved around...The other day, I helped a very upset elderly lady find the jar of gravy she said she always buys and they were moved again!! Come on Giant Eagle! Marcs is organizing their stores to take your business! Cant you see that by now ..What ever happened to consistent placement and customer service. You have lost it these last few years. Keep things where people are used to it being! Aldis is catching up also! Every other day,not only me but theres always another mad customer that says how upset they are to me because they see Im upset also...Thats the only consistency you have going for you now.
This is the worst grocery store in our community, they never have water in stock and are frequently out of most items in their deli....noone at the service desk is capable of even answering simple questions, like when will you have more water delivered?.....its worth the half hour drive to avoid the Hartville Giant Eagle.

2022-06-21We were in town for a family reunion, and my oncologist chanted up my medication regime. We called 3 pharmacists with little hope of getting it filled. Kristin at Giant Eagle, Hartville not only had it available and ready by the next morning, it was less expensive than at my hometown pharmacy. Shout out to Kristin, my cancer treatment didn’t skip a beat because you cared!! I had tears picking it up. Thank you again!!

2022-03-02Superb customer service/employees! This particular Giant Eagle so happens to be in Lake Township, which is middle to upper-middle class. So if. you happen to notice people looking down their noses at you dont be surprised or angry or nervous or whatever your particular flavor of reaction may be - just avert your eyes, quickly grab your beer or wine from their halfway decent selection, check the specials, grab a couple gift cards to places you know youre going to shop soon so you can get the fuel perks, then head across the street to Aldis and/or Marcs and save yourself some green on groceries. If, however, you are one of those people that are well-off and constantly judging others without even having the smallest dialogue to base your opinion on - dont forget you could always make an online order and pick it up out front and we can avoid having to endure your Highnesss scrutiny in the store.Be frugal

2022-06-23Overpriced cleaning supplies, the same cleaner I get at target for $5 and here is $8, almost twice more and they don’t even have a big selection of eco-friendly products, last time shopping because I’m realizing how everything is so overpriced and I used to be a regular costumer, not worth it!

2022-05-24Nice size Giant eagle in a strip mall which is unusual its a medium size store it has quite a bit of stuff nothing like the market district Giant eagle on Massillon road though but more than the Giant eagle in barberton

2022-02-03Wants to charge Meijer prices for not-so-Meijer quality. Bought a bag of Brussels sprouts and when I opened the bag, most were dime size, halfway covered with rough spots and covered in black holes and what could only be described as what looked like flea dirt. Definitely not worth the $4 or so that I paid for them. Use the extra gas to go to another store that has products worth what you are paying for them.

2022-02-20The one in green is way better. No butcher counter. Just go to Aldis or Macs for better prices. Or go the the market district giant eagle in green

2022-01-12Extremely disappointed in the customer service, cashier was overly bossy and rude. Will reconsider my shopping location after this experience. Apparently me and my money are not smart enough to shop there according to my cashier
