Giant Eagle Supermarket in other cities:
Giant Eagle is a good store but I give this location only four stars because it doesnt have the selection other stores have. Just for fun, I compared prices with Kroger. I found Giant Eagle to be about 5% higher, which isnt the end of the world. Giant Eagle has certain things I like that Kroger doesnt have. Its good to have them around.
I know GE is generally more expensive than other stores, but I go for the convenience, as well as fewer customers to compete/deal with, and general good quality of service.I realize we are still in a pandemic, and many people choose not to work ... so the pool to select employees from is low. However, I think you should still try to keep your standards up.Tonight, when I went to check out, the cashier was too busy chit chatting with the customer, and probably was scanning about 6 items a minute. By the time I started to have my groceries scanned, I was already annoyed. Literally, my 5 year old nephew could have scanned the items quicker. She didnt seem to really want to chat much with me, which doesnt bother me. However, the quality of the service was atrocious, as it seemed like her scan rate got even slower(which seemed like that is impossible). I think I spent more time in line than I did grocery shopping ... which is saying something, because I dropped over $175. She also never asked if I wanted to use my rewards ...I hope GE can start to get more employees ... which if that means offering a higher starting pay, they should do so, as if the level of service continues, I will start shopping elsewhere.A side note: The lady working in the pharmacy was very polite, very friendly, and very professional.
Everybody was telling me how great their cakes were from giant eagle. I don’t know if I just got dealt a bad situation but I ordered my son‘s cake from there two days before, I needed to pick it up. I received a call the morning that I was supposed to pick it up, that they don’t make those type of cakes that I requested. They left a message on my phone at 6 AM so I wasn’t able to call them back until around nine, the lady I spoke to knew nothing about what I was talking about, she intern then told me that they don’t make red velvet 8 inch cakes. She said we can give you another cake but it wasn’t a red velvet cake, I told her no that’s OK. So then she said I can give you a half a sheet for free and we can just write your sons name on the cake. That’s not what I wanted and I was very upset for birthdays mean a lot to us in our family , so because of the short notice of not having no cake, I did go and pick up the cake she gave me two small cakes that were red velvet that equal to maybe a half sheet a cake. Lo and behold the cakes that we were given stale and were nasty . I understand they were free but those cakes were horrible I ended up throwing them away. So I should’ve just stayed with my first choice and went to Sam’s Club never again giant eagle.
Terrible!! You cant use the self checkout unless you have a Giant Eagle card. Then it wouldnt take cash. The employee running it gave me a Serious attitude because I wanted to pay with cash and she had to take my money and give me change. She was rude as hell. Dont go there
I am a 1st time customer and I was VERY pleased with EVERYTHING. Customer service desk person (Patricia) was excellent in giving me an Eagle card and explaining all the perks that come with it. She even took the time to tell me about the gift cards and the different ways they could be used. The young man at the front door showed me where the motorized buggys were. When we left we went to the self check out and two employees came over and helped us bag our groceries. Oh, and the buggies have sensors on the front so you cant run into anything. I had an overall WONDERFUL experience.
I would give this location one star, but the cleanliness of the store bumped them up to two. Management has never acknowledged me any of the times Ive been in, and I pass management all the time. Ive been followed before by management, and watched while I check out. I know my many tattoos and blue hair are the reason. They make me feel as if they are accusing me of stealing. I havent been back to this location in a while. I either shop at the Kroger across the street or the Meijer down the road 4 minutes away. Kroger has way better prices anyway, and Meijer has more variety, so its for the better that Ive given up on this location.
I usually find everything I need here. The store appears to be very clean. I want to give a huge shout out to one of the courtesy clerks! Hes a very polite young man. I think his name was Dylan. Most polite person Ive ever met at a grocery store! He made my day! He went the extra mile and helped me pick up some groceries I dropped. Because of giant eagle and their great workers Ill forever shop at this store!
I came to buy some fried chicken, and was surprised to find very mediocre and small chicken. It was disappointing, but still a little better than the chain chicken restaurant across the street. And, the extremely irritating check out system is always a barrier to my further purchases.
Most of the employees are quite helpful and go above and beyond, its one of my favorite things about this location. Food quality is good overall, but sometimes its challenging to locate something, especially if it was moved for no apparent reason. The giant eagle coupon app can be difficult to navigate, but their weekly sales are usually good. The store is well stocked, bright, and clean.
Not a fan of giant eagle for their grocery store usually since they carry a lot of different brands than what I usually buy (Im a kroger marketplace lush) but they do have a good selection of seafood- they almost always have some type of crab leg and giant scallops. The biggest pull for me is their liquor store! They have the BEST selection of the holiday gift sets (priced at the same cost the bottle usually is by itself) and they have 5x as many as the majority of liquor spots in the area. If thats your thing then this place is a must visit
This location Ive been to numerous times. Always good customer service. Unfortunately not 5 stars due to a few of the normally bought foods were out of stock oddly. Specifically Bens rice. Not sure about the shortage of Bens rice because I found it across the street. I will be back as I really enjoy this store when Im grocery shopping.
Friendly and helpful staff, really like two of the managers (I believe that’s their positions) here. Prices are a little higher then other grocery stores in some (if not all) areas. I only shop here for a few things. I don’t like that you have to be a member of their rewards program or you can’t do self check out until someone or an employee scans their card, but I love that once you’ve got so many rewards you get 20% off your entire purchase of groceries or some amount off your gas.
Good location, seemingly the only liquor store in the blacklick area. Im not a fan of the parking lot design. Store is clean and staff helpful though a bit sparse. Selection is good and on par with what one expects from giant eagle. I walked around the store twice looking for the liquor store which tends to be in a similar location in many giant eagles. Turns out this stores entrance to the liquor store was spun around facing the southwest corner of the store instead of north towards the front entrance. Its usually not too busy and parking is not too difficult. Worth a visit.
I’d rather do my weekly grocery shopping at a corner store. The worst self checkout machines ever made. Higher prices when compared to other local stores. Dirty looking floors cover this poorly arranged food store. They have a decent hot food selection, that’s the only reason this pile of trash is getting two stars. Also the staff is nice. Kroger all day.
Giant Eagle on E. Broad St. @ Blacklick Crossing. I rate it 10 out of 10, the Store Mgr., is always so helpful and walks around with a smile on his face, greets customers, just a very friendly store to shop at. Pharmacy folks are always very helpful, stock folks will stop what they are doing in order to help you find an item. They just have a great staff of employees, love your store.
Customer service is poor. One would think that with their high prices youd get even higher level service! The complete opposite actually. Kroger does a much better job training their employees to provide quality customer care. Went this evening (for the last time) to just get salmon and no one was at the fish counter. Waited and waited. Finally had it and searched for an employee and got a managerial looking woman who looked at me like I had two heads when I said no one was at the fish counter. Frustrated, I said, I just want to get some salmon! She called someone to get over there, I go back...and wait...and wait. Still no one. So I left. Never going back.
Nice location in an accessible little shopping district. Basic Giant Eagle, with all the normal good stuff. Unfortunately, they dont carry the gift cards I was trying to buy anymore, so I was not able to successfully shop during my lady visit but generally, a nice place to shop.
Ive never had a real problem shopping here but I almost always find somewhere else to go grocery shopping because of some annoyances. First off inside is one of the only local Ohio State Liquor Stores. It is inside the Giant Eagle. It isnt something that almost ever interests myself but if that matters to you that could be a reason to choose to go here. My main issue is for me I find it generally hard to navigate around and find things. That being said when I do need to go here for whatever reason Ive never really had any problem.
Rated extremely high for gas points and gas prices!! Ive got $1.70 off a gallon!!! Right now gas there is $1.68 per gallon for regular. Groceries at Giant Eagle are decently priced but aisles are still hard to figure out and Ive been going there since it was built!!! I prefer Giant Eagle over Krogers.
Why do I feel targeted for observation by the AP person and cashier lead, every time I use self-checkout? I spend hundreds of dollars a month in this store (my money - gainfully employed), and when hawked over, want to just walk away from my cart. Its a really horrible feeling. I get you must save boneless chicken thighs at all costs, but the way they go about it, is the antithesis of quality customer service. Will not be returning to this location, again.
They have great selection of everything, from fruits/vegetables, all fresh. The salad bar was great.. I thought they were very stocked in all their items. Customer service was awesome, One of the cashiers were so helpful , , very happy. I would recommend shopping there.
I gave this a 5 star so more people would see this. The store deserves a 1 star. New management arrived. Rick became my manager while I was an employee here. There was an issue with the system so I couldnt clock in for about a month. I told every manager about this and they never fixed it, left a reminder in the office and Rick yelled at me to the point I had a panic attack on the bathroom floor. There was also a manager named Carla who put young inexperienced people as floor monitors on front line and in the end the customers had a poor experience, when Carla could have put people, like me and others, who were able to run floors and had the experience behind us as well. It is political in the store, some employees were even stealing while I was there. This all effects the customer and ultimately the store is killing itself.
Went there today after having a bad experience at Meijer hoping Giant eagle would help me so I went to the bakery to put together a last-minute cake. Giant eagle went above and beyond and made my day. Natalie at the bakery was so sweet and eager to help wish I could give 10 stars. Giant eagle you have won my business hands-down over anyone else!!!
Store has gone downhill. I use to love shopping here, but now the store is junky looking with way too many things in the isle. The prepared section is horrible, food selection very poor, what is available looks like it had has been sitting there for a week. They use to have wonderful salmon, meatloaf, etc. I cant believe how this store had deteriorated.
Overpriced produce which can be provided from aldi at a much more reasonable price. The new layout is inconvenient and confusing... imo. The staff are what makes this place great. Always friendly and helpful. The manager, I think thats who she is, is amazing. I hope they pay their employees well bc everything costs too much.
Great store!!! I love having the liquor store there now!!! More reason to only shop there. Its nice that I dont have to go to Gahanna anymore!!! The staff is wonderful. The head baker is such a wonderful man and is always so helpful! The deli is steps above Meijer and Kroger. The liquor store manager is the greatest!!! He is always so helpful and not to mention cute!!!! Today I was in and the Store Leader was so helpful to me!!! We all laughed and everyone, including the other customers, were all exceptionally friendly!!! I had to stop at Meijer because I forgot something and everyone was nasty. Thank you for being such a consistently great store to shop at. Great meats, produce, and deli!!! Thank you also for hiring such wonderful men that help a little tiny young lady all the time!!! You are appreciated!!!
This is by far the worst Giant Eagle Ive been too. Ive experienced issues with this location before but after having another issue with at this location I choose to write a few. I went only to send money through Western Union, I arrived and waited in line why a cashier assisted a gentleman who was trying to cash in hes lottery ticket this was at 4:10pm. The cashier had no idea how to process the lottery ticket left the counter twice as myself and an older lady tried our best to wait patiently. The lady never called for anyone else to help. The manager even came to assist her and seen there was a line and walked away without offering any help. While still trying to help the gentleman cash in hes ticket after 10mins she advised him he may need to wait until the lady that helps at the customer service came back. She then started to help the lady with a return but began to assist with an attitude . For the store to often no be so busy it seems in some areas they are in need of help and there customer service is very poor. I doubt that I will return to Giant Eagle especially on Broad Street again.
They are super overpriced and cant keep there shelfs stocked. There lines take forever and the management doesnt care about the store or employees. There bathrooms are SO dirty. Also did they know they have a 20/20 thing where the want 20 million by the year 2020. That means they cut corners and are horrible to there employees.
Irregular supermarket though I felt like I got lost in it..it wasnt very clear whats in every aisle or where to find what youre looking for. the amount of man cashiers and midday starting of the week was very little and I went through what I thought was a mint machine but it was just an automated cashier. its a regular a bit less comfortable supermarket shopping experience
Giant Eagle consistently monitors the quality of dairy, meat, deli, produce and its wonderful bakery. People complain that you pay a little more. I have not found that to be true over all. If you shop the competitors, perishables go bad well before their expiration date. Not here. It is a friendly, welcoming store. Do get their almond cake and doughnuts. I like the Eagles bakery better than Reschs.
Despite the county mandate issued by the Governor to wear face masks, this location is letting anyone enter without wearing one. They are not even saying anything to customers as they enter and walk past employees at the door without a mask.I‘ll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. There are many other choices for groceries in this area.
I wanted to order a bereavement gift for family who live near this store but store staff informed me that I couldnt pay by credit card over the phone. I live in CA and obviously cant come to the store to make payment. I contacted the store because other business who normally provide such service would not make deliveries and Giant Eagle was close enough for pick up. I called the manager, Steve Smith, to discuss other payment options to avoid having the family make payment & reimburse. This man was curt, cutting me off to inform me of the store policy before I could complete my sentence. He then placed me on hold to supposedly see if there were other ways to get payment to them. With no other communication, a store employee picked up the phone to AGAIN inform me of the store policy and referred me to their sister store, which was 20 miles away and not the least bit convenient since its out of delivery range for my family. I realize there is credit card fraud but not everyone is a crook. Im disappointed by the managers seemingly lack of interest in helping me. Poor service and lack of professionalism.
I used to shop here all the time but as I become OLD it is very hard. There are not enough handicapped parking spaces, the isles are too long and there are not enough choices for many items. There is no place to sit and rest a few minutes and the powered carts dont fit in some places. In Addition, my car uses high test gasoline and it knocks with Giant Eagle gas. Why not have good gas??
Nice mid-sized grocery store in the Reynoldsburg, Pataskala/Blacklick area. If youre an experienced Giant Eagle shopper, you need to be a little more creative if you want to spend the same amount of money as at Krogers. That being said, they have a nice fresh food and salad bar selection daily, and overall a nice clean store with excellent customer service! You can earn tons of extra points towards dollars off fuel or your next grocery purchase, especially if you watch their ads and the extra bonus times.
Went to have a prescription filled and was completely ignored by pharmacy staff! Brought this to the managers attention he said he would talk to them but I did not see him go anywhere near the pharmacy. Completely disappointed.I expect that from Kroger but not here! Smh. Im gonna deal witht Kroger, at least I know what to expect?
Very negative vibe as soon as you walk in the store. You can tell management is terrible by the vibes almost every employee gives off. Bad customer service. I even inquired about working there just for kicks and a new employee told me the management is a negative, petty woman. If I could give my review of the store a negative number I would.
Nicer establishment than perhaps most grocery stores. One small drawback is that you literally cannot check out without a Giant Eagle card if youre in the store in the late evening - when only the self-scan checkout is open. At the same time, the customer service desk is closed, so you cant apply for a card, either. Unfortunate.
Their seafood selection and bakery are quite large. I believe they bought out Blacklick Wine and Spirits around in ~2015 and it became the State Liquor License (now sold within Giant Eagle). Blacklick Wine and Spirits was an enjoyable beer selection. The selection of craft beers are good at Giant Eagle, but my favorite still holds out as the Rockmill Brewery beers. (I dont think Giant Eagle can carry it.) ITS FREAKIN SO GOOD! Overall, Giant Eagle has a great selection of ethnic foods and great savings throughout the store.
SHAME on this Giant Eagle and their management for not having compassion and understanding. Trying to order a cake for a dying hospice patient and his wife to renew their vows. This GE is the closest to their home. I would like to have this cake delivered and pre-paid, and they would not budge on policy.I am from Pittsburgh and shop religiously at Giant Eagle, but you have lost a customer for life. I hope that this manager does not ever have a need or a loved one dying whose final wish is trying to be granted.

2022-06-22We’ve ordered Giant Eagle’s “Best Cakes in Town” for 15-yrs now. They have the BEST cake decorators, and the cakes are always moist and affordable. PS: the new cake decorator in the Blacklick store is amazing!!! Thanks!!

2022-04-09I want acknowledge the great customer service at the giant eagle located on East broad st blacklick. . Tracy who works in the floral department , went out of her way to find me at the self checkout and make sure the tulips I was about to purchase were watered. She also provided me with a beautiful bag to carry them with. She did it with a nice smile! The customer service at this store is superb! Thank You! Don

2022-03-02This is a pretty good Giant Eagle. The produce is usually fresh. The staff can be rude at times but for the most part they are nice. Its in a convenient location so if you like to do all your grocery shopping at once it is nice because Kroger is across the street.

2022-06-10This store has gone downhill in the past few years.Since I used to work in the liquor department, NEVER ONCE did we EVER have to swipe every single ID that comes into the place. I understand CARDING people, sure. But to swipe every single id? Im clearly over 21 by 20 years. Also, they denied me service because Im wearing a black shirt. Had to call a security guard (rent a cop) to escort me out because I was mad to be denied because I am wearing a black tee shirt and because I had no problem showing my id, but to swipe it and have my info in the system? Then when I called, I got cursed at and hung up on. Never ever ever will I be coming here again. Their people and everything about this store is terrible. Im contacting laura karat.

2022-07-08I ordered a 35 count cupcake cake on 6/21 for my uncles 75th Birthday. The Bakery at this Giant Eagle location called me the morning of 7/8 (24 hours before the Birthday Party), to tell me they’re out of cupcakes. WHAT?! Apparently it’s a chain-wide outage, which is whatever. However, it’s COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE that I had to learn of this only a day before I was to get my order. It’s now impossible to find a decent bakery that can turn around an order in a single day. And what’s even worse is, according to the lady that called me, they’ve been out of cupcakes “a week and a half”, so they knew this and still saw fit to only give me a days notice. What a shame!

2022-01-29Its a fine clean store I normally go to another market due to it being closer. Its as good as any other market.. they would not give me a free disposable mask on my way in. I left mine in the car.. they had a box sitting there and the boy said no I couldnt have one I have to buy them in the store.. that was crummy. Kroger gives you a mask if you ask as does Walmart..

2022-07-07I went to specifically get veal chops because they have the freshest and largest veal chops without having to drive all over the city.
