Giant Eagle Supermarket in other cities:
Good morning, excellent place to shop for groceries clean efficient in order merchandise. Fruits and vegetables clean fresh very well displayed and just beautiful done. Cashiers friendly helpful interacted with customers beautifully. Very helpful employees. Customer service representative well done. Thank you. Love this place.
Went to Berea giant eagle early Sunday morning for on sale strip steaks “didn’t have any” then to buy milk a total of 9 gallons of fat free, that’s all in the cooler, this isn’t the first time the on sale items can’t be found here.Decided to try giant eagle in north olmsted they had about 18 on sale strip steaks and plenty of different percentage milks
One cashier and no self service open at 8am? Manager at customer service counter refused to check out someone with two items. Ten people in the one line. Who is responsible for scheduling? There are plenty of employees throughout the store. Just no one up front. Lots of complaints but no one cares.
One of the worst grocery stores Ive shopped in. The organization makes little sense, its dirty, there are boxes of unpacked merchandise everywhere, never enough cashiers, the two self-check readers rarely work correctly. Employees are rude when you ask them questions or raise a concern. And the store stinks of fish half the time I go in. I only shop there as a last resort.
Stopped at the pharmacy to pick up a friends prescription. Of course, my friend didnt give his date of birth. The young lady working the counter very adamantly, yet very politely told me that she could not ring out the prescription without my friends birthday. She was so determined to stick to her guns while managing to be very polite and understanding. Good protection of patients meds and rights.
This is the worst Giant Eagle ever, anywhere in Ohio! Ive lived in Columbus and near Cleveland and its the worst!! The pharmacy staff act like theyre miserable and like they dont want to be there, especially Millie! The customer service people are snippy and rude!! Especially Sandra!! If youre understaffed and busy, dont take it out in the customers...hire more people!! The entire store needs to be shut down and moved to a bigger building with a complete staff overhaul!! If you dont like working with the public and are impatient and rude, get into another line of work!! Youre all snooty, rude, and short tempered!!
For the most part, Giant Eagle stores are pretty similar across the board. A little more pricey than other stores, and not really deservedly so. This particular store is one of the smaller ones, no not the greatest selection. Especially if you are looking for ethnic food. However, the produce section is good, and everyone there has always been very friendly to me. Its close to my house and convenient, so I go there often, and its my home pharmacy.
The cashiers have always been friendly and pleasant. Produce lasts better than from other stores. Some areas have limited brands and choices. Bakery is super expensive. Like the prepared foods but selection seems to be less. Pricey. Think the whole bag thing is a scam to get more money. Do like some of the BOGO deals ,seafood sales, and the 5 for 20 meat deals.
Everything is easy to find in the isles and if you need help theres always someone around who is happy to assist. The isles have been kept up on and restocked quickly even more so with the pandemic. I know that if in the beginning of the week the item I need isnt there, it will be by the end of the week.
Definitely not the best Giant Eagle out there. Kind of a smaller sadder version. Shelves are frequently unstocked, kind of dirty, meat service was not that great and cashier smelled of stale booze. Sorry to the few people who do work hard at this location (produce has been good for a few years), guys you can do way better.
Horrible! I am sorry to say that. as I try to support Berea businesses. I work and normally do not get there until after 5. By that time the vegetable and fruit area can be decimated and out of popular items. Customer service is severely lacking. I was in last night looking for pork steak. I asked a butcher if they had any and the response was nope. There were pork butts in stock, he could have offered to cut one for me or said no sir I am sorry we are out, but I got nope. Please Please Please Meijer build a store in Strongsville.
I want give a 1 star but also understand everyone has bad days. I had only 1 item and wanted a pop, some how that grants me 2 eye rolls and a very annoyed response. It just makes it much easier for me to do self checkout from now on. You know no attitude, no eye rolls and best part, all this without having to talk to an obviously unhappy employee.
Helpful staff. Unlike other Berea groceries it has a bakery and a meat department. My experience with the helpful deli and produce staff has also been great. Prices are often higher than the competition, but it is the only store to offer a price-per-unit breakdown for each item on the shelf.
I should know better, but still went to this GE in Berea and did not find what I went for again. Nothing even exotic...just regular GE pulp free OJ. None to be found. This store never seems to have stock of regular items. Last time I was there, I found outdated items on the shelves.
Shame on you giant Eagle for trying to profit off covid knowing the community is suffering out work when you can go to hospital or other places and get vaccine for free just goes show you Giant Eagle doesnt care about the customers who are most important that keeps them in business shame on you for soaring pharmacy prices the meds i use to get from you for 80 dollars for my elderly mom i get at metro for 10 dollars shame on you greedy
I am a regular shopper at the Berea, Giant Eagle. So I loaded up my cart for my weekly grocery trip and headed to the checkout. One register opened, it’s 8:30 AM. Two customers in the regular line so I rolled myself into self-check and started scanning. After four yogurts the “assistance light“ started flashing? No help in sight, waited a long minute or so and a lady shows up and explains that I must wait for belt to stop in between products; OK? 10x yogurts to scan and I’ve got a full cart to go. (btw, this is not my first time at this rodeo. I have successfully scanned myself out in this store many, many times before).Next, I put the assorted olives and peppers on the scale but couldn’t find the entry button? A lady left her register and tried to help. Loosing my patients, I wasn’t prepared to deal with how the rest of this experience plays out. In hindsight I should have just waited in line and had a human run my groceries. Hahaha.I just stopped my efforts and left the groceries and the store. You loose Self-Check, I’ll shop elsewhere. Now, I see these ladies on a weekly basis and always have a pleasant experience and No, I didn’t expect them to just drop everything and jump to my call, but, why would the self check even be open without an attendant at least somewhere close by? Echo.Disappointed,
Its OK as a grocery store (selection, clean, etc.) But they are always horribly understaffed. Anytime I ever come to this Giant Eagle I end up waiting at least 10 minutes to check out as they will only have 1 lane open with the line going out to the aisles.... I thought they just needed to hire more staff but its been like this for over a year... It makes me never want to come to this Giant Eagle, I have never had this issue at other stores.
I had a raincheck from the Parma store for shrimp. Stopped at the berea location a few times to pick up the items, and was told to keep checking to see when it was in. Well today the 26- 30 bags of shrimp were there, got my 5 bags and at the checkout the cashier couldnt change the price, so he called for help, this is where it gets bad. The lady came over to help, with the most disgusted look on her face, said I needed to take care of this in the seafood section, I told her that customer service said the cashier could do it, she rolled her eyes, told me to wait, not asked, told me, grabbed a bag walked away. Came back and said it was for the 2lb bags not the 1.5 lb. bags, and that I had to get them at the store that I got the raincheck from, which I dont understand seeing as its the same company. Proceeded to grab all 5 of my bags and walk away without asking if I wanted them still. Very rude, was kind of surprised at how mean she was doing her job.
Me and my husband like having a store nearby, but the customer service at this store is horrible. Imagine going to the customer service counter there is three people behind it and you are looked at like a burden or wait for two to three minutes for them to acknowledge that you are even a customer at their store. The reason why I gave it two stars is because it is close by the center of Berea and when I need to run to get small things or the use thepharmacy it is a convenient. If I have to do large shopping trip I go to the one in strongsville because the lines are always moving and the store has the things I need.
If I could give no star, I will do. This store has the worst customer service I have ever seen. I have been in USA for 5 years but I never feel unwelcome and no one ever traited me bad as this store does. I was buying onion and the sign shows 99c/lb and when I checked they charge me 1.99$/lb and when I went to customer service and talk to them, the lady there was so rude and racist. She could samply said that they are sorry and they will change the tag. Unfortunately she is the team leader there but has no idea how to treat customer. Next time I will drive more and go to other store, thank you for your service, I will never come back there ever.
Kind of disappointed, no eagles of any sort, let alone giant ones. I am not certain that giant eagles would buy anything outside of the decent meats and dishes departments. Its not to bad for humans, but I wish they had more choices in chickens. Pretty decent produce, especially in season.
This store has the worst customer service I have ever encountered! I just accidently left a bag of soup bones in my cart when I left the store. When I returned an hour or so later to claim them the fellow who brings in carts said he gave them to customer service. When I went to them they said because I didnt have the receipt (in the bag) and hadnt used my Giant Eagle card, they wouldnt give them to me. That is outrageous! I will never shop at Giant Eagle again and will make sure that all my friends know how awful the service is! I already buy little there because of the ridiculously high prices, but this is the last straw!!!
Extremely poor produce quality. Meat case is not fresh. Low customer service levels seafood and especially meat. Customer service team is average. Team members do not appear to enjoy their jobs nor do they appear to care about pleasing the customers. Berea deserves better.
After my wife was informed that they dont carry makeup, i went to use the restroom and realized bereas a little strange... it meritted picture they keep an emergency newspaper in the toilet... but the reason for the one star review is the check out customer service...We stepped into line 6 with jo-anne at its helm lazily chatting about our finds. She took the divider stick and it was our turn... she scanned our card and rang our merchandise... it didnt occur to me that she didnt really talk to us while this was happenning... but when she finished and I went to hand her coupons, she said you should have given me those before I started, with a face I reserve for when I touch rotted fruit.Jo-anne informed us that she would have to cross-check each one of our coupons against our merchandise. Stacking and counting them she decided that our internet printed coupons didnt have water marks and needed to call over customer service... while we waited, jo-anne assured us that shes been working here for 20 years and certainly knows what shes doing!Arrive Cindy. She takes one look at the coupons and says walmart, walmart, and trys to hand them back to my wife. Irritated, my wife explains it says available at walmart, not redeem at walmart. Cindy, with her feathers ruffled, made a run for the service desk with the coupons that Jo-anne had given her, I followed her, and she explained to her manager... manager Sandy says do it...Back at the register jo-anne has been telling my wife that we have too many Lysol coupons but when asked to count them discovers that there are the correct amount and remarks oh.We return and Cindy leaves pronouncing that it should be so, so jo-anne starts scanning. She gets through half of them and says that these dont work. My wife assures her that if she tries the hand scanner they should scan. Jo-anne says she needs a manager for this.Arrive Sandy. She seemed annoyed that we were unhappy with our service so far, with jo-anne treating us like criminals for having coupons, and helped jo-anne to scan them. When my wife asked about the coupons that were walmart, Jo-anne raised her voice declaring, I didnt say that, Cindy said that! Sandy ignored her and assured us that cashiers are told to follow a routine and check the merchandise because, you know there are so many scammers out there, and that most people hand over the coupons at the beginning. Our total was found and our money was accepted but we shall never return here again...
I normally wouldnt be caught dead in this place but I to hear the cash and checks there and I know I took a walk to the store at noticed that the actually had some food products Ill be checking next time I go to the bank and see if they actually have more food products and the prices become affordable .
If hell has a grocery store, it is this one. Smells awful upon entrance, filled with employees who are clearly miserable and hate their job, checkout lines that take forever, and generally blanketed by a cloud of misery and despair. Driving to the Strongsville Market District, Heinens or even Marcs is worth the time.
Way more expensive than other stores . Not that much more selection or customer service to make up for all that extra money it will cost you to shop here. Fuel perks are not worth paying way more for food. Cashiers and customer service employees are extremely rude. I will only go here if I need food late at night when ot he r stores are closed.
Giant Eagle is the big regional supermarket chain in Northeast Ohio and elsewhere. As such they have the biggest stores. Prices are okay but Marcs tends to be cheaper. Produce is decent but not outstanding. Recently GE seems to be cutting back on some specialty items, which is a shame as that is what I use them for.
This store is WAY over priced. They charge in some instances almost double what their competitors are charging. They also are often times out of stock of things that are bought on large scale by their customers.Their bakery is WAY over prices as well as their hot food section, salad bar, produce and dairy. The clerks are chatty to a fault, they stand around chit chatting with each other ignoring customers. I do have to say that it beats going to macs however since marcs basically has NO one on the floor to help you at all, but their prices are significantly better.I wish that Giant Eagle was Marcs, but I wish they both were either a Coscos or even a Daves super market. At Coscos you will get the really good savings but at Daves you would get savings, customer service and a huge variety.

2022-01-10Easiest giant eagle to swap my primo water jugs for full ones, by far. Its always such a hassle at other locations. Super clean, crowds always pretty solid about wearing masks, never super busy. Nicest giant eagle in the area.

2022-01-12Me and my wife prefer this giant eagle over the one near us. They always have what we are looking for. And most of the employees are knowledgeable with where to find stuff

2019-11-15Customer service counter employees seem to be bothered when u want to check out with one or two items, very rude folks here, and dont try to self checkout without having a rewards card, because you cant use this service without the membership card, STUPID. and slows down actual productivity with needing to help folks check out with out membership cards.... STUPID

2022-02-06Very crowded, I assume because of the impending snow storm. Prices were higher than other grocers, as is usual at Giant Eagle. Most people were wearing masks, just 5 or 10 out of the approximately 100 people there decided that masks were unnecessary.

2022-06-01A nice grocery store, well stocked and organized. Unfortunately, its obscenely overpriced by comparison. Good for quick trips only in my opinion. If you plan to shop for a family, be sure to have a Brinks truck with you.

2022-06-15Its a grocery store. Maybe not the cheapest, and the bathrooms arent for the feint hearted. But other than that its just a grocery store.
