Giant Eagle Supermarket in other cities:
I do like the store...know it well and it is kept stocked and clean. I am increasingly aware of carts where employees are shopping for those who have done their shopping online. Frequently I must wait for these huge carts to move so I can shop. Starting to be frustrating being treated as secondary shopper and with fewer registers open.
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Our Avon Lake Giant Eagle 🦅 on Lear Road , Avon Lake, Ohio , 🇺🇸 is the Best ❣️Brian , The produce manager is simply the BEST 🥰Goes over and beyond to help me the customer 🙌The Manager is always there if you need him , listens and addresses all our concern 🙏🏻I use My friendly Giant Eagle Pharmacy for all my prescription needs . The Pharmacist & Staff are very professional & friendly. In fact I am going there tomorrow for my flu shot, and my Moderna Booster 💉 ouch🤕🤞😓We even have a StarBucks inside our Giant Eagle ☕️I have been a loyal customer of Giant Eagle , SquirrelHill , Pittsburg , PA , since our UPMC days in the late 1980’s . I enjoy shopping here they give you fuel perks based on how much you spend fresh fruits salads salmon these are things I like to shop for. The people Ive met are very nice excellent customer service friendly at the register and inside the store will help you locate items I am happy shopping here
I have to say this is one of my favorite giant eagles, especially because one of the gentleman that does curbside is always so friendly and truly seems happy to be doing his job. These are the kind of people that should be recognized. It’s hard to find good workers these days.
Stopped in for a few items. Using the riding cart I was able to get everything needed. Had to ask where to find a couple of items but everyone was more than happy to show me which isle making sure I got everything. Since I was riding their cart one helper walked out to my car, loaded my trunk then took the cart back into the building. It was a great experience for me.
I have been shopping at this store 2/3 times a week for a few years. I’ve always enjoyed it, but they have let their true colors show in this last week. All the staff I’ve encountered has been upbeat and helpful the couple times I’ve stopped in this week. Shelves were mostly full. Have always had everything I need.
I have ordered curbside pickup numerous times at the AL location since March and each time the staff is a pleasure to work with. Kudos to Larry, who I’ve had deliver groceries to my car on several of those visits—he’s always very efficient and incredibly friendly—even when he’s super busy.
Good Work--I ordered curbside delivery service and was completely impressed with the staff and the wonderful service they provide. The order was carefully packed and delivered perfectly on time. The driver took time to text and was extremely pleasant. The store and its employees made my day.-- This store is a first-class operation. Thanks to all involved!
We do not frequent this location. We happened to be in the area and stopped in on the way home. This is by far the nicest giant eagle I have been to. Sure some of them have some fancier looks to them. But this store was clean, had the wide variety you expect. Good sales. Friendly staff. The parking lot had tight spots for most average vehicles. We are in a mini van and it was still snug. But they had practically all registers open and a bagger at each one. No waiting and we were there Saturday before Easter! I am extremely pleased with this location. Will be doing more shopping here. Even if it is out of the way!!
We are extremely grateful for every single employee who works at a supermarket! From the truck drivers, to the warehouse workers, the cashiers, stockers, cleaning people, produce and meat experts, managerial personnel, (pardon me if I missed anyone) and anyone involved, you are saving our lives! You have given up the precious safety of your own home to come to work and expose yourself to the public during this crisis! Not only that, but your helpfulness and kindness over the phone and during curbside express pickup has been simply amazing. From the bottom of our hearts, we are eternally grateful. May God Bless each one of you at this Walker Road store and at all supermarkets nationwide! :)
A lot nicer than I expected, but I was surprised at how expensive it was. Heinens is a lot cheaper, which was completely unexpected. There was a lot more healthy/organic variety than other branches Ive been to, which was nice. But I could never afford to do my regular shopping here.
Despite their aggressively touting price reductions, better prices can still be readily had elsewhere. Their significant reductions aimed to make them competitive with increased competition make it glaringly apparent the extent to which theyve been overcharging. Their idea of two for one appears to be to double the price of each item and then tell you, you are getting one free. They lost out on being my go to store years ago and a recent quick stop for a few items served to confirm there is no reason to change that.
Pay attention to what you buy and make sure you get what you paid for. Cashier tried to charge me 10.00 for 5 carrots. I tried explaining to her that carrots are not 2 dollars a piece, she wasnt hearing it. She scanned the item and kept putting quantity 5 as if I was buying 5 2 dollar bunches of carrots. She legit was counting the carrots that were bundled together and charging me per carrot. Told her I did not want them. I check the rest of my stuff out and get home and realize that she forgot to put an entire bag of groceries in my cart that I paid for. Cant do anything now as Ill just be called a liar since I didnt realize it before I left the store. Should have realized it as the customer before me in line caught her putting an item she didnt buy into her bagWhen she said something, the cashier stated that a previous customer must have left it at the register... Ill be shopping elsewhere from now on as I was basically fleeced out of paid for groceries. Expensive lesson.
So apparently COVID doesn’t exist in this sad little store. Don’t expect employees to follow any protocols. I was actually laughed at cause I asked for the computer screen at the pharmacy to be wiped down. The worker at self-checkout was out of control when I asked her not to touch my produce. Thank god Meijer is just down the street. Bye bye
I dont know if you have to be a surly see you next Tuesday to work here, or if they train you before you start. Just the worst attitude from people Im trying to give money to. Not a great selection, not great butchery, not great produce, but premium prices, and did I mention snotty, nasty personnel??
Everytime I shop here there is a long wait to check out and they do not have enough registers open. The cashiers are not friendly. During one trip the cashier talked to her co-worker while ringing up my items and failed to acknowledge me at all. We buy alot of organic products and I feel they lack in this department when compared to other stores.
I ordered custom cupcakes from the bakery department for my sons birthday party. At pickup, the order was incorrect. Not the end of the world as I still walked away with cupcakes (however incorrect) but my real complaint is with the personnel at the bakery department who instead of apologizing for the error or showing any sort of understanding for my situation, rolled her eyes, audibly sighed and offered well, I didnt make them. Not the point, I am the one who has to explain to my son why his cupcakes dont look like what he had asked for. I could have spent $42 on cupcakes at a lot of other places and next time I will.
Hate this store, items poorly arranged, no sense to placement of items. Have to ask for assistance EVERY TIME I shop. Poor selection of products, ready made meals disgusting recipes. Staff is outstanding and makes the best of the situation. Ask them how they like the store!!!
This has been our grocery store for the past 15 years. We have gone through a few renovations in the past, which basically moved aisles around. Kind of a pain, but figured aisle out fast enough. New renovations taking place now are HORRIBLE!! Trying to become a Heines that they are not! Store hasnt added any space sq footage, but yet they added a Starbucks with sitting area(happy about that but seating area isnt needed), wine/liquor department is much bigger, adding a wine tasting area, food court area bigger with seating, floral department much smaller, bakery shoved in a corner & much smaller, deli seems the same (not carrying high quality meats like boarshead for upscale feel they are going for), aisles seem wider. So with all the new additions and some areas made bigger, whats changed to make room for this stuff....Less selection then previously carried, seem to have less inventory of items they do carry, so items out of stock often!! Salad bar, use to not be to bad. Now it looks terrible every time Ive gone to get it! Wilted lettuce, dried out grilled chicken, not worried about freshness here!! If your going to TRY to be an upscale grocery store, quality matters!!! For better overall quality, looks like Ill make the trip to Heines over this Giant Eagle!! Only thing thats going to keep the business alive here is Starbucks and pharmacy!! If a Marcs and butcher shop with great deli meat came to that plaza it would put Giant Eagle out of business!! Why mess with whats worked for 15 years! Its going to hurt the store big time! Especially if/when a new grocery store goes in over the tracks in Avon on Lear! This will only be my grocery store to pick up a few last minute items from now on as well as Starbucks drinks.
Arrived at 8:45 pm and was told that the slicing machines in the deli were down for the night. The employee said they usually start cleaning them around 8:30 pm. Another customer attempted to buy something after me and was also denied. Why does the sign say the deli is open until 9 pm? Otherwise, I like this location.
Personally I like Giant Eagle better than these huge Walmarts and super Walmarts. Those Walmarts you can never find anything and you have to walk for hours. But in Giant Eagle everything is a lot closer to home and easier to find. Plus you can even find an associate if you need someone to point you in the right direction.
I always love shopping at avon lk giant eagle I always seem to find great deals even if I dont necessarily need that item the staff is always efficient the store is always clean products organized I truly appreciate this store love shopping at avon lk giant eagle you are appreciated by me

2022-02-13Placed an order for a personalized item from the bakery. Received the order confirmation and waited patiently to be emailed that it was completed. Pickup was an entire day later and the entire cake was default except for a very simple “Happy Birthday [NAME]”.Called at the pickup time as I had not yet been told it was ready for pickup. They said they had no record of my order and the “manager had just left for the day”. I said “so I’m just out of luck for a birthday then huh?” And she said “yeah”.Avoid this bakery at all costs.

2022-06-16This store is small and has a limited selection. Prices are higher than other stores. However it is the only option in Avon lake.

2021-12-20Food selection is great. - 2 stars for the cashier wearing only a face shield that sneezed into her hand right before handing me the receipt and cash, then sanitized her hands.

2021-04-21Hands down...THIS was the nicest Giant Eagle that I have ever shopped at in my life! I was a manager for 2 years for Giant Eagle as well! The layout, the fresh produce options, floral, seafood, meats, bakery EVERYTHING was phenomenal! All of the staff members were exceptionally kind and helpful! More than enough open and quick check out lines, I was even graciously offered assistance in carrying out my groceries to my car! I enjoyed my experience and will return to the Avon Lake location!
