We had a lovely first visit to the winery. It has an amazing view and the lights of town twinkling below was stunning. They have a limited but tasty menu. The brick oven pizza was the best around. The tavern chips were a bit soggy though. My husband tried an on tap beer of which they had several and I had a very nice glass of wine. Being there in winter we were unable to take advantage of their beautiful patios and instead dined inside. The live music was, well it was there. The seating was okay, a little boring and mediocre. Surprisingly so with the quality of the wine, food and exterior.
What a joyous find. A two day cycling adventure in the Cambridge area I visited Georgetown Winery. Home sick from New England, now living in Ohio, I sat outside enjoying wine overlooking Cambridge that brought back fond memories of New England. An absolutely wonderful view, very personable associates, great wine and an awesome fire roasted pizza, I do have to admit the best of all was my summer love affair with Miles. The patio was crowded, but the moment I appeared he spotted me and I spotted him. The sparks flew and butterflies were in my stomach. Then ... he came and sat beside me, looked at me and not enough, hopped onto my table, laid down and then we looked faced to face. A magical afternoon that ended too soon. Would I visit again? Even without Miles, yes, the fire roasted pizza was absolutely delicious. And, the wine that accompanied the pizza - well, who could ask for anything better?
Great atmosphere with a great view! We had the nachos with beef and pizza and both were really good. Very nice employees and our girls liked the cat, who was just lazing around out of the way, catching some zs. Recommend for a dining experience showcasing the view and openness that was missing during some of the recent covid restrictions. Nice to get back to normal and enjoy it with friends.
Have been here several times and had a great experience each time. During the warm months it has a beautiful view and great sitting areas outside. Fresh cooked pizzas in a wood burning stove are delicious and great wine selection. Staff is always friendly and accommodating! Will keep coming here for years to come!
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT!!! We came between lunch and dinner on a Saturday, sat wherever we wanted and got great service! The margherita pizza was excellent as the tavern bread and the caprese salad. The restaurant is under construction because they are redoing and expanding. Still excellent service and amazing case wine prices!!! So excited to partake of their beer soon! Try the peach wine slushie!!!
This venue is remarkable, with plenty of wines and foods, and the day we visited there was even live music next to the outdoor pizza oven on the patio. The outdoor view is wonderful, with the deck seating wrapping around the property, and plenty of seating options on the patio area with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. Pizza service was quick and good, and the wine slushies and sangrias were very flavorful as well. What was disappointing though, and remarked by so many guests, were two things; the lack of restrooms, and the ability for guests to smoke wherever they wish. The single restroom line was constant and growing the entire two hours were there, and by the time I made it inside to use, it was trashed. This is definitely a need of focus for the owner/management in order for this venue to make it to the next level- one bathroom for a place that serves so many guests at one time is inexcusable. The other issue, smoking areas left to the discretion of the guests themselves, never seems to work out in anyones favor, and designating an area would do wonders for those guests not wanting to sit and visit, and eat and drink with a constant breeze of smoke. This definitely needs addressed to please all of their guests. So good, but could be as much better. Looking forward to many more visits.
Twice a year we visit Georgetown Vineyards. We drive 2.5 hours to have true wood-fired brick oven pizza, a bottle or two of wine, and visit with friends from North Carolina. We all stay at Salt Fork State Park Campground and head to Georgetown Vineyards to catch up on stories. If you think about it our friends drive 12 hours for pizza and wine. Each year they expand, improve and expand some more. This year in no different. Continuing to expand inside and outside along with new menu options. The atmosphere is relaxing, the views are beautiful and the food is great. Our favorite place to eat, drink, visit, and relax.
Visited the winery about 6 times since June. We love the view. No servers you place order and get own stuff.. reason 3 star is always get same rude cashiers. Need training on how to deal with people. One woman always seems miserable, is very slow. The other has okay personality but both rude. We talk to one girl who was getting all the drinks and was fantastic super friendly fast and sweet. She made me plus my wife whole night better. Saw her interact with several other patrons as well. Excellent service with a smile I think name was brook or Brit can’t remember. should be dealing with customers..hard worker, great service very upbeat treated my family great. hoping to see smiling face behind counter next time.
The wood fired pizza was good, but the real draw here is the outside dining with an amazing view. So peaceful and beautiful! Tables needed to be wiped off (we were the first customers of the day) and garbage needed to be cleaned up from below the deck. If so, I would have given it 5 stars.
They have great food and wine, and an awesome atmosphere with beautiful views of the valley. The staff is also very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed friendly conversation with Gary and wish we could have stayed longer. Business is booming, it should be a must see on your itinerary! We will definitely go back!.
Went for the beer but unfortunately they were transitioning and were not brewing yet. The wine, patio, pizza, and staff made up for it. The two behind the bar were so nice and helpful. Enjoyed a bottle of wine and took a few home too. Perfect relaxing afternoon with a great view!
The view service and food were all nice, the only drawback what are the two cats that kept disturbing the guest as they were trying to dine. Probably wont go back we are raising for grandkids and they are allergic to cats. If not for that I would have loved to taken them there.
Beautiful view, but basic pizza menu and wine is limited, nearly everything on the wine menu was unavailable or a wine you could pick up at Kroger. Dont expect an unforgettable trip, but if youre just looking for something other than the usual view out the window, its worth it.
Very nice atmosphere and you cant beat the view. A little slow with getting food and drinks. Also the salads are very small.. we waited 20 minutes just to get drinks and water.. Limited menu also.Only one ladies Restroom and one mens Restroom.Loved that they had a musician. They are not following proper protocol when it comes to Covid guidelines. Some wore masks most did not.
This is my second time going and the wines are very good . The only reason I didn’t give a better rating is the terrible condition of the place . The deck not only needs painted but there are rotting boards , the grass is so high that the weeds are growing around the deck . What a shame this good definitely be an amazing place but definitely needs someone to care about it . The grape vines are overgrown with weeds as well.
Don’t bother ordering take out from this place. we waited two hours for two pizzas, after they said it would be 45 minutes. they said they forgot to make our pizza after we waited for an hour. then, we got one of the pizzas and it was cold and we had to wait about another hour for the next pizza to be made. when we got the next pizza there were toppings on it that we told them to specifically keep off of it. we also ordered wine slushies, which were completely unfrozen by the time we could actually leave. I only gave one star because I didn’t have the option to give zero stars. don’t waste your money here.
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!! We come to this place every year and after the experience this year we wont be back. We waited over 1/2 hour for our drinks that the server said were on the tray. We went in and got our own drinks. Our pizza came before drinks and we were almost done with our food before the server came over with plates. They were out of THEIR OWN BEER?! No spinach for the pizza and the $4.00 chips and queso...nacho cheese...come on! What an absolute disappointment. Assumed new management but was told that was not the case...not sure whats going on but we will find new annual winery in the area.
Sometimes you find great places in little towns! This is one of them. A nice quiet and relaxing winery. They also serve good beer and food. It has a fantastic scenic view of Cambridge from up on the hill. A great little place to kick back and relax for a while dinner and drinks. They also have live bands there sometimes as well. Cheers!
Hello! I sent this message through messenger in hopes someone would address my concern and received no response. A few weeks ago I was traveling and decided to stop in and pick up a few bottles of my favorite wine the Niagra. Upon purchasing this wine that Im very familiar with, I noticed it had a different color to it. I bought it anyways. I did not sample it because for years it had the same taste. We opened a bottle last night. It did not have the same smell or taste. It tasted tart and like apples. It was the worst Niagra I think Ive ever tasted. Needless to say Im extremely disappointed and sad that it changed.
Sangria was decent at best. Was told pizza would take 30/45 minutes was over 2 hours then got smart remarks when told we wanted a refund. Power went out while singer was singing... only positive is view is nice if you can find a seat. Not enough chairs to fit 50 people.
This winery is more geared towards a dining experience and not about the wine. We were a little disappointed that there wasnt a traditional tasting, but they do let you try a tiny plastic cup before buying a bottle or glass. The glass was a huge pour for only $5. We had already eaten so didnt try the food, but the view from the patio is definitely beautiful.
Great venue with the best view in Guernsey County. We love the pizza, the Craft Beers by Dave are wonderful, good entertainment, good wine, and always a friendly crowd. A truly laid-back and relaxing place to be. Whats not to like! John, his family and employees have created something special.
I had a wonderful experience here. Being a cold and very snowy day a vineyard doesnt seem like a place to visit but it was a great time with my wife and visiting family from Georgia who are in the wine business. They loved it, we loved it, and the menu and hospitality was excellent. Will definitely be returning for the live music occasionally scheduled and wine!
My husband and I visited on a Friday afternoon. Starting at 4pm they had happy hour and half price wine and beer. We ordered a chicken bacon ranch thin cruat pizza aand enjoyed it very much. They made it outside in their pizza oven. The view of downtown Cambridge during the day was average but the relaxing atmosphere was very enjoyable. During the fall the trees most likely would be beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would recommend a visit to this winery.
Well..lets see.....1st of all at this time of the year...cups with sweet drinks and beer should cleaned off the tables by the gals that were changing trash bags ect....its no wonder the gals left them on the unused tables, they were full of yellow jackets🐝😡....big disappointment with the sticky messes.
Inside bar area was torn up, no one seemed anxious to wait on us. Finally asked for a pitcher of sangria & was told the we’d have to go outside to order it. Wanted seating on the lower deck with the view & was told it was self serve yet there were wait staff everywhere. Girl explained that table service is provided in the afternoon but apparently they make it self serve in the evening when it gets busy. Confusing. Beer & wine is served in cheap plastic instead of real glasses. Tacky. Don’t care if we ever go back.
We have family visiting from out of town, we dress up we are all excited to go enjoy the view and have a lovely meal at Georgetown Winery. I check theie web page - open until 8. We all (6 )of us us show up at 7 sharp. We are greeted with sorry we are out of foodVery disappointed , and embarrassed with my company. Sad in Cambridge
We stopped here at the suggestion of our hotel. Enjoyed a late lunch of their cheeseboard and a caprese salad. My husband ordered a local craft stout, while I had the Muscato. We both enjoyed the local flavor and the scenery. The server was very nice and we had a great experience. If were back this way well definitely stop again.
Good brick oven pizza. My wife and friends love the wine. Good drinks and an awesome deck view looking out over downtown Cambridge towards the northeast. Atany given time you can look out and see wildlife too. I have seen deer, turkey, birds, and even a couple of the local cats hanging around. Check them out.
We read the great reviews and couldnt wait to give it a try while vacationing in the area. We got directions from their web page and sent them to our phone. Well, we ended up on top of a gravel hill that looked like a power plant. So we had to ask for directions. No biggie. We entered the winery and there were 2 lines. Very confusing. So we asked the people in front of us. One line was for drinks only and the other was to order food and drinks. We finally got to the front of the line. Placed our order for 3 pizzas, a glass of wine and 2 pepsis. They have you pay there and add a tip when ordering. They give you a number to take with you and placed on your table out side. Well, when we got outside there were not any tables available. We found a spot with chairs and a little table only big enough for drinks. The view was just ok, but the worst part was the strong sewage smell. Its was literally making my husband sick, but we toughed it out and waited an hour. Still no pizza so we decided to tell the person that delivered the pizzas from the large out door brink oven, that we will take ours to go. Well that would be another hour wait! Are you kidding me? A 2 hour wait for pizza? They do not have any servers other than the guy bringing out the pizza so unless you wanted to go stand in the long drink line you were out of luck. We decided to cancel our order and chock it up as a bad experience We had to go back inside to get our refund. I said that I wanted a refund and I didnt realize it was going to take 2 hours to get pizza. She was very rude and said, I didnt know until about 3 minutes ago either Really? How the hell did you or at least the manager not know that the amount of orders taken could not be handled? No im sorry from her or the manager that helped her with the refund since she was clueless nor did either of them even make eye contact with me. She refunded the pizza, but did not refund the tip. I tip graciously, so that really sucked. Also, not really sure who the tip was for any way. Stay away.
NOT COMING BACK!!! This place had menus on the bar area advertising slushiee type drinks for $7, went to pay the bill and was charged $10. Was told they cant do anything because the system says theyre $10. We bought 5 of these and thats a $15 differance! Definitely not a place with good management or morals for wrong doing!!!
Georgetown Winery is a great place to enjoy a weekend afternoon or evening. Its located atop a hill overlooking Cambridge, with great outdoor spaces including patios and decks. Its also a family-friendly environment, so bring the kids if you cant find a babysitter. Theyve hit a fantastic outdoor brick-oven pizza setup, and other great appetizers. Several friendly cats and a dog mingle throughout the patio to welcome guests. Georgetown is located about one mile west of Cambridge and just north of interstate 70.
I’ve been coming here since they opened and service/food has been increasingly worse. From hair in our food, to missing items not being corrected, to hour plus waits for food. Not to mention our server telling us that they only had two servers so we should expect slow service. My family and I are very unhappy with our recent experiences here.

2021-09-14We visited this little gem on Labor Day weekend. It has great views of the town below. We bought a bottle of 2018 Chardonnay and it was very good. The pizza was also very good!! We sat outdoors to enjoy the view and the company we were with. We will be back next time we are in the area. You should check it out too!

2022-06-19Excellent brick oven pizza, caprice salad, and a nice view over the vineyard.Reasonably priced and friendly service. They give you a pager so you can go sit on the deck with your drinks until your food is ready.

2021-07-20This place is awesome, great wine from their vineyard, food prices very reasonable and comes out quickly, pizza was excellent. Service was top notch, this crew works like a well oiled machine. All this with a spectacular view! If I lived in this town I would be here all the time.

2022-05-13Great ambiance with a stunning view from atop the hill. Local beers on tap, with wood-fired pizzas being the main course along with some side options. Point of sale system is a bit wonky, but should improve as experience of staff increases.

2022-06-23I have eaten here once before and it was fine. This pizza should never have been served or at least offered to be made again or given a refund.

2022-02-201st time there. They had live music so the atmosphere was loud but enjoyable. Fire baked pizza was good. Drinks were slight as you only got a can. Unless you get house wine ! Didnt try it though... Nice place to gather with friends for a bite not a full meal. We would stop again,

2021-09-14I am only giving this restaurant 2 stars because the employees that did show up for work were friendly. Bartenders didnt show up that morning so they were very short staffed. Pizza arrived to the table cold. We were given no plates or napkins, we had to find our own. This was the first time here. Pizza was burnt with flour all over the bottom of the crust. Dry and tasteless. Indoor dining area was dirty, under construction and no hot water in the bathroom. Awful overall. Wont ever be back.

2021-06-28Great place. Pizza needs a little work. Its good but not worth price in my opinion. Wine is great. Outdoor seating has amazing view over looking the city.

2021-07-29The Georgetown Tavern was recommended to our group of three as a nice, quaint location that overlooks Cambridge, Ohio. It did not disappoint. We sat outside on a warm summer day where they have tables with umbrellas. Indoor setting was also available and more appropriate for the other half of the year. The staff was pleasant and accommodated our needs. The food and drink was excellent. We enjoyed both pizza and hoagies along with an on-site bottled 2014 American Merlot. The one thing of note about the Georgetown Tavern: its more of a vineyard with a focus on wine than it is a tavern. Still an excellent establishment.

2022-06-08First visit. Awesome view off of a nice deck. Bathroom close to the deck. They offer slushes, wines and beer and I think pop. We ordered a wood fired pizza; it was good, very thin crust. Will definitely go back.
