They were out of nearly all food when we tried to order. Even the burgers they said had to thaw. Food wasn’t that great ( fries were good). Waitresses swapped places though the place was practically empty which didn’t makes sense.I like the game systems and think the place is cool but if your coming for a restaurant or good food I’d pass.
I dont go to bars often so I dont have any real comparisons. But my friends were all in town and we had a spontaneous reunion. Our group landed at Geeked Out and we had a blast. They had nice long tables to handle a large group. There were also smaller tables for couples or groups of 4. The atmosphere was energetic and the geek decor was epic. I saw gaming options of different types but I didnt explore bc we were just there to talk and catch up. Giant TVs played sports and movies.I didnt get food bc Id eaten but most of the group did and it looked delicious. The bartenders were awesome. Fun, friendly, and efficient. There were a ton of drink options from wines to beer to hard liquor. I love that the bartenders asked what level of pour you wanted as well so you could pace yourself as you pleased. Definitely would go back.
This expirence started off decent but continued on very badly. I was amazed by all the amazing decorations and cool scenery but was offset by so much. The waitress was very rude and rushed us the whole time. It took over an hour and a half before we even saw our food. The food was pretty good except for how cold it was by the time we got it. For how good the food tasted it wasnt worth it given the terrible food poisoning it caused for me and my family. If I could give this place 0 stars I would but sadly I cannot. Never coming here again.
This was definitely a cool place with the video games at the tables and the cool decorations. I gave it an extra star for that since its definitely worth checking out for the decor alone. I started with the cheese curds...fried cheese is delicious and there was plenty for sharing. I tried a chicken wrap and that was good. I also tried the New York burger that was good quality ingredients but I felt like it was missing something...maybe it was a little too bland for my tastes. The fries were amazing, I got tots too, but no need to pay extra for them since I thought the fries were amazing. Oh, and I tried the Nuke hot sauce and I dont know if I got the wrong sauce or what, but it wasnt very hot. There was quite a variety on the menu and I will definitely be going back to see how it is.
The bar is a great spot to hang, reasonably priced and pretty thought out decorations. The different old school games are a nice touch. Karaoke is not on my list of things to do, terrible in fact! If you like karaoke, arrive on a Tuesday night.....they are in need of better singers!
Food came out hot and fresh. Chill vibes and pretty reasonable prices! Staff was friendly.Only things I would change were making sure the tvs and controllers were wiped down because they were both dirty and why was a sports game on the TV? Ick. Play something fun, revenge of the needs, HP, LoTR, Hunger Games, anything else really.
Love the atmosphere of this new place in Brunswick. The atmosphere is really cool and brings back old nostalgia of video games from the 80’s. They also have a big screen for Xbox/PlayStation gamers. They have a full bar with some really great tasting Spirits. The food is very reasonably price and very fresh. They even substituted a nice garden salad instead of fries for only a dollar. One of my new favorite drinks is a Kentucky bourbon barrel ale. This place has something for everybody.
My sons (23 and 17 years old) and I enjoyed a meal and time together here on Sunday evening at 8pm. We were the second family there at this time (great time to go!), and I definitely feel like we received excellent service. It really was a fun atmosphere! The lighting and decor were a fun mix of styles that can make most feel ready for fun and relaxation all in one sitting! We played Super Nintendo at our table while being served our appetizers of fried pickles and pepperoni and cheese balls👍👍. The menu was varied and we each had options we liked, I had the buffalo chicken wrap and liked the blend of flavors. The portion was not oversized and the seasoned fries that come with the meal were good! I opted for the baked fresh daily kettle chips and really enjoyed them as well, although I wasnt certain I liked the horseradish based dip they came with (just personal preference not to eat horseradish). To provide a full review we also enjoyed both types if cupcakes they serve and were not disappointed! The red velvet was scrumptious as was the hard cider! They were big enough that we split the two between the three of us.
My wife and I were excited to check this place out after we heard about it last week and we were not disappointed! Games, drinks, food, and the general nerdtastic atmosphere all combine for a really great experience! Thank you to the owner for opening a place like this!PS In my opinion, to make this great place even better: more gaming systems (especially one on the big screen), more dessert options, and more nerdy decor.
We had a good time there. Has more laid-back atmosphere restaurant, bar/ gamer place. Lots of kids (under12) there when we stopped in. They have board games, Nintendo games and other things to do to keep everybody busy. Interesting menu - dishes and drinks are 1 of a kind. A lot of good ideas. Just dont expect to be in and out in a hurry.
You walk in, sign says see baternder for service. Service was okay and friendly. My salad was really small for $8 and I was still hungry when I left. Sad to say my date wasnt impressed with their food either it was bland. I expected a little more out of the atmosphere..
A great spot for a bite and a game. Cheese curds are a must have and almost worth the visit on their own. Some unique wing flavors, solid beer options and having the option to play classic games is a nice bonus. On the negative side, the old classic consoles are starting to get beat up and arent working as consistently.Suggestion for Geeked out, have you considered adding a board game section? Something like tabletop or side quest does? It would be nice to have a place like that in Brunswick even if its a byo game concept
My family and friends have been regular customers and have enjoyed going there for their CBGB wings. Very disappointed to find out that they are no longer on the menu. I guess we will have to look somewhere else for some good wings. We understand that they have other foods and other varieties of wing flavors but the CBGB flavor was what kept bringing us back.
Not the greatest experience. We did not get all of the food we ordered and we waited for a very long time for the food we did get. This was our second time there and our first time was a very similar experience (pre-pandemic). I really wanted to like this place... its such a cool concept and great addition to the Brunswick community, but I dont think this is the place for us.
What a great place, hidden gem in Brunswick. Went there as due to the shortage of staff kitchens are closed in many places and we needed to eat. And Im glad we did.Very pleasant staff, karaoke started at 8, you can play games at your table while waiting.Great selection of beers and drinks. We got Buffalo parm garlic chicken wings and they were delicious, ordered twice. Also bacon ranch chicken was really good too, very moist and tasty. We will definitely be back:)
Ive been up there 3 times and every single time it was perfect. The staff is young and vibrant, the decor is different and exciting, the food is fresh and delicious. This bar has more to do than any other around this area and if you are into anything video game related you will appreciate the work that has went into creating this place. I also talked a bit with the workers to get some info because you can tell the food is made from scratch and that they care more than the next place and everything I heard was good. They all told me the owner is out to provide a good time in a fun environment and they nailed it. Really love this place and I will continue to go back!
Delicious food, awesome service.Their wings are one of the best in Brunswick and love the fried pickles 😋Just one little thing ( they always forget the celery with your wings )We ordered yesterday at the restaurant and I didnt get them. No , I did ask for them because the table was so small we couldnt fit anything else on the round table ( sitting 4 )
This place does not have good food. They serve you McDonalds fries and just all around not a good experience. The service was ok. This place was not busy at all for a Friday night. Good concept of a place and has potential but the food sucks. We waited about 45 minutes for our food. I understand places are short staffed but your food is not good. I am shocked at the high google reviews you have and maybe your staff has changed from when you opened. I would avoid this place. I really wish you the best of the luck. Waste of money and would probably have better food at Applebees.
Geeked Out Pub and Grill is an amazing place to get some awesome drinks and food !!!! They also have karaoke on Tuesday nights !!!! Even during a pandemic the owner and the staff members are doing a fantastic job to keep everyone safe while visiting !!!! The staff members are so polite and go above and beyond to perfect your visit !!!! But wait there is more , Geeked Out also is a kid friendly bar and grill , they have plenty of games for the kids to play and even the adults!!!! This a wonderful environment to be in, so if your board a Tuesday night come karaoke, get some food , have a drink and play some games , shoot some darts , they have excellent dart boards!!! It does not even have to be a Tuesday night Geeked Out Pub and Grill is an excellent place to go !!!!
The owner was very rude to me and my husband and kids. We are out of towners from akron and had a family day at scene 75. Afterword we had got our family food at steak n shake and was cruising around looking for picnik tables or something around the area to enjoy the sun and happened to come across the ones in front of GO pub and grill so we decided to stop and enjoy the sun. And maybe check it out and grab a couple drinks as ou kids were eating . Before we could decide what we wanted to do the owner come out and rudely asked us what we were doing because he didnt want people eating food in front of his pub and grill that didnt order from him eating on his tables and it was kind of a big deal and that we didnt order we needed to leave immediately. Not on were me and my husband and everyone around in shock because of how sturn and rude he was but he upset my kids to because they just wanted to have a picnik outside. So to keep my children from crying my husband ordered a beer and I ordered a coke. So my kids could finish enjoying the day. The two severs that served us were very polite and welcoming none the less.
NERD PARADISE! Came here on a Sunday, owners behind the bar, talked for the 2 hours me and some buddies were there and this place is super cool with killer food! Food and drinks rotate every 6 months so there’s always something new going on. Definitely making this place a regular stop and hangout spot.
You shared a basket of tater tots with beer cheese on them this was very tasty. In addition a half dozen of well done wings with the sweet chili habanero sauce on them Nice amount of heat sweet and tasty. Nice unique setting with all the gaming at the tables and right now its decorated for Halloween also. Plenty of beers on draft. Prices are very reasonable.
This place was border-line packed. The food was decent , way too pricey. There was only one server , he was very nice . good worker . The service was slow though. It took over an hour to get our food. Would not recommend if in a hurry or have limited time. i rate this a 1 1/2.
Super neat atmosphere for Brunswick, you can play old Nintendo games at the tables, service was good until they started to get more busy. Very nice staff. The food was good but not great, loaded fries were a must. Would like to see some more variety for a healthy ish option with flavor , but hey it’s a bar :) Can’t be too picky.
Went there two days before grand opening. My kids played games that had at the table while the wife and I relaxed. They have several games from the Nintendo games including Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, and Tecmo football game. The burger was very good. The best was the fries, and I never had anything like it. I met the owner who was very nice and explained he and one other owner do the fries seasoning. That was one best fries I have had. The staff was great.
Great dart boards and a well decorated open space welcome you.A few interesting drinks on the menu but overall the beer, wine and drink prices were on the high side for a neighborhood place. We tried a few different food items, but the only thing that was good were the wings...just under $8 for 8 wings...pretty standard pricing. All of the other food was poor quality and the service was very slow (30 minutes for appetizers).I would go there for darts and a drink but eat someplace else.
Great Place to explore your inner Geek, The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable plus there are Classic game consoles at 80% of the tables, The food is fresh and always made to order, The specialty Martini menu (which features 10 martinis) is the only one in Brunswick and the Karaoke is top notch( both take place on Tuesday), Wednesday night trivia is also a blast. Happy Hour every day from 3-7 including weekends. I highly recommend this place 👍✌❤🍻
My husband and I just had dinner here and it was so good. The table had a super nintendo where I was able to show him the ropes in Super Mario Land. The Cesar wrap was so good and our server was very friendly and attentive. Overall, excellent experience you should definitely check out.
A fun place filled with gaming nostalgia and movie heroes! The food is basic bar food and they have the best wings in town! Sandwiches and Appetizers also are very good! The staff is outstanding, and the prices are very reasonable. Very fun place, good food, and a full bar!!!
Last call at 12:30 at night even though theyre open until 2 a.m. Why even have your hours listed as until 2 if you stop serving at 12:30? We got there at 12:30 so we didnt get to get anything and our friend came all the way from akron after work to try one of their signature drinks but it was a huge disappointment that he didnt get to.
This place has the best wings Ive ever had. 50 cents on wing nights for traditional bone wings (no boneless but not complaining). These wings were huge. Bigger than Ive ever seen. About 2-3x BWWs wings size. Get the Tropical Mango Habanero. Amazing. Also the drinks were phenomenal. Much better than most places and you get way higher alcohol content than you would at say Olive Garden. So great. Check this place out. No regrets. I will be a regular now.
I would first like to start off by saying I love the atmosphere and I would love to keep doing business with Geeked out. Brunswick needs a pub like this. What I am not thrilled about is I was here on opening night and everything was amazing, yes the food took a little bit but that was to be expected and then I come here about the exact same time a week later and order 3 appetizers and 2 mixed drinks. The waitress was attentive and the bartenders were nice but.....the drinks were watered down, ( like water from the ice machine) I could see though my butter beer. The food was extremely greasy and tasted like oil had not been changed. And the biggest shocker of the evening the bill the prices were raised and when I asked the server she said yea the owner just changed them today including changing them online (when the menus still say the original prices from last Saturday.) I told her not everyone looks online. She didn’t offer to fix it or offer us to talk to anyone. I told her we were here last Saturday and things very were different. She just smiled. They could have made an announcement on their Facebook. Needless to say if things to not change I will no long be a patron.
Terrible, terrible experience.... waited 45 minutes for our 2 burgers, grilled cheese and wrap. Food came out and the grilled cheese wasnt even melted. Waited another 20 minutes for grilled cheese and it was charcoal, went to pay. Server went to run our cards, set them on the bar and made drinks for another party. Then the manager came and gave the table next to ours a free meal. While discussing the issues with the manager our server approached us and confronted us about our tips. I tipped 15% because of the 20 minute intervals between when she checked on us.the manager seemed to be the only person who had any training. And also there is no need for 4 bartenders for a bar that size.
Really enjoyed coming in and checking the place out, the owner was super engaging about how business has been going and his experience as to how he landed in Brunswick.Ambiance is fantastic, thought nothing about sitting at the bar with my iPad getting caught up on work and doing some research.Prices are fair, the drinks were perfect pours. The wings had the right amount of sauce on them and I was offered extra: sauce, ranch or blue cheese to go with it. Just now caught the theme for Mario Bro’s in the background. How cool. Will be back for sure, one of the nicest places in Brunswick hands down, clean friendly and excellent value, plus its in the middle of everything.Best wishes to Geeked Out and the team, excellent experience.
Super fun place with a great atmosphere and food!! For those who said something about the time it took to receive your food; you went to a bar where people are playing video games... it’s not going to be crazy fast service, and if no one comes to your table to serve you then let them know!! Can’t always see new customers!!Super excited about this place and can’t wait to be back!!
First time here and I loved it. They have a decent beer selection and the southwest burger was incredible. Most of the tables have their own game system, either NES or SNES, and Id imagine with the Genesis mini releasing soon, theyll add a few of those (at least I hope so, Toejam and Earl FTW). The lounge area has a nice couch along with a large screen projector whre you can play from their library of Xbox games, tonight it was Mortal Kombat. Our server, Jeremy, was very friendly. Service was excellent. Could not teccomend this place enough. Will definitely be back.
A fantastic new pub addition to the area! The atmosphere here is awesome-the lighting and decor is nerdy and spot on. With a range of classic systems (we played the Nintendo and SNES) to enjoy while you dine and drink, its a great way to spend your time. Im not sure what other systems there are, as we forgot to check out the other side of the wall. The specialty drinks are great, as is the food. I would recommend the butterbeer and the gouda bites. As we went midday and it wasnt very crowded, we did wonder about the night life here and acknowledge that it would be a bummer if you showed up during a busy time and were not able to get a table with a system. Also, what would happen if you went in with a group more than two? What gaming options are available for more than two players? We were not aware that there was an Xbox one set up with the projector screen when we went. Maybe they could put up a sign for that on the coffee table in front of it, as well as a list of games available for it. It would be great to see some options for larger parties to play together. They should possibly put up a sign saying seat yourself, because as first time customers we hung out in the front for a few minutes before a server told us.Highly recommend and cant wait to go back!
We were excited to try this place, showed up sat down played a race of Super Mario Cart while waiting on a server. Discussed what drinks to try and then looked around at the decorations for a few minutes. We then watched another couple come in, sit down and get menus and acknowledged right away. We waited another couple of minutes, looked at each other and decided to leave and go around the corner for Mexican.
Polite staff.Video games were cool, although it took a little while to figure out how to use the consoles they are mounted to the back of the TVs with no instructions on how to start a game. The geek themed bar drinks were amusing.Food portions seemed small for the price.
Added a star due to newness. Mostly a bar that happens to have a few food items. My burger was a C. I give a Wendys Daves Classic a C+. Winking Lizard Wild West burger or Red Robin BBQ Burger are both grade A. I asked for curly fries but got regular Cajun fries, too spicy for me. Waitress was very sweet but door to door was 70 mins. Not even close to appropriate for a weekday lunch with one other table and one bar customer. Atmosphere is just starting to take shape, they have Han Solo in Carbonite and Captain Americas shield, thats not Geeked out! Burger, Chicken Wrap, two teas, tip = $27. Hoping they improve with time, Ill try again in 3 months.
We ordered the quesadilla as an appetizer and it was awesome! Real chicken and lots of gooey cheese! For our main dish we ordered the CBGB (apparently it stands for something like garlic, buffalo, bbq, parm? Not sure but its awesome!) wings, beef on weck & chicken -n- shrooms. First off, if you havent had their wings, stop what youre doing and get to this place! By far the best wings I have had. They are so crisp on the outside, but still juicy on the inside! My wife loved her chicken & shrooms which is loaded with mushrooms served with potato pancakes. She said it kind of seems like an odd combination but its everything i love! She says it had great flavor. I had the beef on weck and it was equally impressive. The kimmelweck roll is awesome with its little chunks of salt that you occasionally get a crunch of. The beef is flavorful and then dip it in a rich au jus! And the au jus isnt just some beef broth, it has little flecks of flavor goodness in there. Rub a touch of what I would imagine is house ground horseradish (I didnt ask) that gives that blast of I am going to open your sinuses right up! Oh man! Oh man! Served with a side of crunchy tots! I highly recommend! Maddie K served us tonight on the tails of this virus craze, so she had her hands full trying to serve everyone as fast as she could while still following protocols! Look for the stars in her eyes and you know you will be well taken care of!
Nice place to hang out with friends they have a wide variety of video games and karaoke was fun as well the food is pretty good I recommend the cheese fries with the pub cheese those fries were amazing with the BLT sandwich... will definitely be going here more often
My son was awarded a coupon for Applebee’s from his school. As we pulled in to the parking lot he asked if we could go to geeked out instead. My wife and I both said that sounds like fun.Unfortunately, after sitting at the table and making eye contact with at least two employees that were working behind the bar, no one came over to wait on us.At our 15 minute mark, two other gentlemen walked in and sat down in the other side of the wall from us.An employee immediately came over and waited on them.Very disappointing experience. We walked out and headed to Applebee’s and are enjoying a much better experience and atmosphere.Being a local business owner from Brunswick, it’s disheartening to see this type of customer service in a local establishment.
Came for the geek theme stayed for it all! Everything from the atmosphere, to the drinks (beer selection included) and the food are great. You cant go wrong by stopping by and hanging out with some good food, drinks, old school game consoles (NES/SNES) and the Twitch TV stream that plays for additional entertainment. For the less nerdy, have no fear, the Indians game was also playing during our time...best of both worlds!
Was there 50 minutes and service was nonexistent. Got seated wife ordered a Coke, came to the table flat. Ordered the cheese curds appetizer came to the table and had to ask for plates and napkins. Plates came but I had to go and get the napkins. 35 minutes later I asked for the check, server never stopped to take our lunch order. Very disappointed about whole experience.
Such a shame, Brunswick needs a cool little pub/hang out...different than the Panini or Winking Lizard chains. This aint it. Burger was like McDonalds, fries average. The salad is a handful right out of the premade bag of lettuce, with matchstick carrots, they didnt even try. MOST comical was the side of sauteed onions/mushrooms I got. Not being dramatic..it was no more than ONE mushroom (one!) sliced super thin and put in a cup you would use for a SMALL jello shot. For a buck fifty. Atmosphere is just weird...nice decor, but way too open. You feel like youre on display. Sadly, as a local, would not return
If you are a nerd even in the least bit, this will be the best bar youve ever been to. Han Solo is in Carbonite behind the bar. Captain Americas shield is on the wall. SNES and NES are at almost every table. Great sci-fi movies are playing. Excellent music. Oh, and easily the best drink menu of any bar in Cleveland. This place gets an A+ in all categories.
Nothing to write home about. The quality of the food and drinks are not worth the price charged. Food tasted like it was reheated or under a heat lamp for too long. The mixed drink I had was very weak and small for the price they charged. Haven’t been back in a long time and don’t plan on ever going back.

2021-12-11Awesome Food around Geeky AtmosphereThis is a great find. You walk into all the 80s 90s atmosphere. The bar table is as unique as this pub. Food was very awesome. Great friendly staff and great atmosphere. Keep it up guys. Baxter burger is btw the best.

2021-12-15Stopped in tonight for a few drinks and grabbed a couple of seats. Great service and great atmosphere. We just had a blast. The bartender was impressive. We didnt order any food but the burgers and wings looked almost too good to eat. Well be back soon to try the food!

2022-03-23Had great experience & fun time. Visited this restaurant with my brother before heading to Tool concert in Cleveland, Ohio. Great atmosphere, good for kids & families, clean & yummy food. Highly recommend checking Geeked Out Pub, if in the area.

2022-02-14The decor atmosphere was really cool! Unfortunately the food, service, and games were terrible.. Our waiter came and took our drink order after 10 mins. Our $7 cocktail had no alcohol in. Then after another 30 mins we had to go track down the water to put our food order in. We got our food and it was the entirely wrong burger and they didnt even give us salad dressing. The game table we sat at originally, one of the controllers was broken, so you couldnt jump. We moved tables, explaining to the server we wanted better games, the server gave us attitude and then that game table also had a broken controller and a console with no home button. So we could only play 1 player and had to completely turn off the console and restart it. Very disappointing night out, but again very cool decor!

2021-08-08This place is awesome! The games were fun to play and I got to play some old school games with my 15 year old son. The decor is great for gamers and some pop culture. We went when it wasnt busy so we didnt have to wait to play any games. Prices are good, food is decent. Service was great.

2022-01-22I really wanted to like this place. Its a local small business with a neat concept. The music was a bit too loud. Ok, no big deal - maybe Im just getting old. My wife and I couldnt hear each other across the table. Simple menu (and we were informed my wifes top 2 choices were no longer available). So, burgers and fries. Should be safe. First, it took nearly a half hour after we ordered before they came out. My wife said her burger was OK. Mine was not. Overcooked, and it did not taste fresh. We were in agreement that the fries were not fresh and were not good. They were not busy. No real excuse for slow service and below average food. I wanted to find a new local go-to. Unfortunately, I didnt.

2022-05-27One of the coolest best run restaurants Ive been too in a long time. This may be the inner nerd coming out but having a full bar and a PlayStation sitting at my table ready to play it was the icing on the cake. If you havent been here yet make it your next night out so worth it. Food was amazing as well! Date night well spent!!

2021-09-17Absolutely horrible food! Ordered Mac and cheese with bacon and chicken and it was boiled rotini noodles with sprinkled shredded cheese and some white sauce on a plate. Fish and chips were simply inedible (never received the chips), the shrimp was very dry. Complete garbage food. Sooo disappointed in my first (and last) time ordering.

2022-03-06This place use to be amazing, but it went downhill fast! The drinks werent bad, but the food was absolutely horrible. The one male server was absolutely rude. He had an attitude the moment we walked in. We changed tables a few times because a lot of the gaming controllers were broken. We found a table with working controllers, but the server gave us attitude for moving there. My boyfriends food had RAW meat. How is that acceptable?? My friends food was dowsed in sauce so it wasnt even edible. Mine was the same way. The only thing that kept us there was the nice female server. She did her best to ensure our night wasnt ruined. GET GOOD! Never going here again!
