Excellent service, and the food was delicious. Prices were very respectable considering the quality of the meal. I will definitely be going back soon.
The first time we went here we really enjoyed it. The second time was awful. We sat for 25 mins waiting for someone to take drink order. Bartender and a waitress were at the bar the whole time and were looking right at us. They were too busy gossiping with the native alcoholics at the bar…loud and obnoxious.Food is good but service needs much improvement
Everything was perfect! Allie was a phenomenal waitress and always spoke with a smile and a vibrant positive attitude. The bartender definitely has perfected the Beach Bum Martini. The food was too good to put down! My wife tapped out twice but kept on eating. Delicious!!
Great food. Great service. I love the food. I highly recommend the chicken parmesan sandwhich. Comes with a pickle and fries. I got the chicken parmesan sandwhich. My sister got the beer batter chicken sandwhich with fries. My mom got the sausage hoggie.

Service was good and the food was good but I did find this fry thats been in the fryer since last week manages to finally get skimmed into the batch of pickle fries that we ordered. Other than that it was nice to go out to eat.

The fish basket was ok. It was way better 2 years ago. Im not sure what was changed, but it was really disappointing. Especially when we just raved about their deep fried fish. The portions have gone down in size, but the price is the same. 😥💔
Looking for a place to eat and happened to see this place and so glad we did. Had the fish (cod) basket and it was delicious. The waitress was super helpful and so friendly. Would definitely recommend it.
Excellent food and service. Had cod sandwich and onion rings plus side of coleslaw...all delicious!!! Tarter sauce and horseradish sauce for onion rings were also REALLY good! My new go to for a great lunch or dinner in New Philly.

Stopped in for lunch, immediately were seated. Social distancing was good, all employees and customers were wearing masks, indoor or outdoor seating was available.Two of us had the Baby Gavin salad, huge plate of mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, bacon, chicken, and blue cheese, topped off with a mixture of sweet and spur and Raspberry dressing. Excellent and and large servings.The others ordered burgers, both said they were very tasty, service ed with a nice pickle and fries.Will eat here again.
We love to go to Gavins on Friday evening. Its all the fish you can eat for a great price. We usually go at least twice a month. Its delicious 😋
Good food, good service nice atmosphere
Prior to the pandemic this was a favorite hang out. Getting carry out is still a good option here. The portions are HUGE. Not even kidding.As usual the people that are eating in at this place make it a point to be annoying. I havent seen the employees with out masks, so thats good. Is very clean and tidy.

I am disgusted. The food was nasty, the drinks were cheap (not in a good way). I would rather eat Taco Bell, shop at Justice, and talk to an Ace Hardware employee. That is a lot to say. Great food in a fun atmosphere! It can take you whole meal to read all the signs posted. Staff is friendly but food can sometimes take a while to come out, but I feel in the last year that has improved. Might be something to think about if you are in a time crunch.My fav.. Potato skins!!!
Its worth the drive down there for us, we really like the food and they have a good variety of beers to choose from. And the waitresses are great.

We a a very nice dinner Friday. Started with the french onion soup, then wagyu beef slider appetizer was delicious, main course was the filet of cod dinner with cajun seasoning & broccoli and rice. Had a couple ohio crafts beer draft as well. Didnt have dessert but they look great.
The bartender was amazing. She was busy but still stayed on top of all her tables. Highly recommend!
Delicious!! One of our favorite places to eat in NP. You will generally wait a bit for food here but it is SO good. Spinach feta chicken salad is perfection- chicken and fish baskets are fabulous drinks are divine... great place for date night.
We stopped here this past Saturday. I had the grilled Italian sandwich with fries and my husband had the garlic burger and fries. Both meals were perfectly cooked, tasty, and the portions were huge. I could only eat half my sandwich and hardly any of the fries I was so full! Service was great and we love the funny wall plaques! We have been coming to Gavims for aboutv10 years now during and always love it!
This is a great local spot for dining and having some cocktails. The staff is very friendly, especially one server in particular, Bailee... she made us all feel welcome and was so sweet and patient. The drinks are a bit pricey though.

A friend and I went to dinner and service was great and our food was delicious, came out in a timely manner.
The drink I ordered was terrible. The owner refused to remake or refund the drink as she was the one bartending that night. We ordered $40 worth of food and she wouldn’t remove a $5 drink that was returned full. She didn’t come over to our table and apologize, majorly lacks customer service.

Atmosphere was okay. Had two guys playing guitars that werent too bad but good thing we werent in a hurry! it took over an hour to get the Friday night fish special then our bill was about $12.50 less than what it should have been after he swiped our card. Not sure how that happened but couldnt walk out in good conscience so we had our waiter correct it. Dont get a frozen margarita either. Not much frozen about it and not much flavor....all in all....dont think Ill be back...

Great food, well worth the longer wait time than other places. The servers are very friendly and professional. Drinks are a little pricey and on a busy night it can take awhile to get one. All in all a very nice place.

Ok People, I never write reviews, but with my experience I felt compelled to. Server was not attentive AT ALL. There were roughly 2-3 other tables sat and maybe 3-4 guests at the bar. Not busy at all. It took 45 minutes for the food. Server never asked for refills while we waited. Food came out all over cooked and DRY!!!!! Server dropped food off and never came back to check on us. We were starving and waited so long so we ate it. I definitely do not recommend this place. I understand it’s a “bar” and grill but so is JnG grill and that place is WAY better. Better food, better drinks, better service, and better prices. All in all, It was so bad I can’t believe I spent this much time writing a review on this place.

Half off Martinis everyday before 7!!! Yes please!! And youve got plenty of variety to choose from. And their food is also great! Their fried pickles, steak salad and grilled cheese sandwiches are a must try!
We got chicken Marsala and chicken bushetta. The food was good but the portion size was quite small. Looked like a 1/6 lb of chicken. For $14 I would expect more. The sad thing is I looked across the street and knew that for $8 I could get chicken and beef Szechuan at China Wok and would have been much more satisfied for almost 1/2 the money. Very disappointed in the portion size for getting one of the more expensive things in the menu.
Food was great , well prepared! Very busy place this evening, waitress was running her legs off to keep up with it. All in all very satisfied ,all four in our party.

I travel all over Ohio for work, and all over the country for the military. While doing so, I typically look for bar and grill type establishments to eat and drink away my angst. I came across Gavins as a recommendation from my father-in-law. Normally, as it is located in a small town, my expectations were low.First off- I must comment on tbe town that Gavins is located in. Though small, it is noticeably clean, and well kept. Not a typical small town Ohio where you feel as if you must use an entire bottle of Germ-X after walking outside.As per Gavins itself: for 4 adults, and one super hungry child, the bill only came to be $60. This includes my import beer and martini (their grape martinis are bomb by the way). The food was well above average; I would almost rate it as excellent. A friend got a steak that was kick-ass, while I stuck with a classic bacon burger that exceeded my expectations. Portion size was great (Im a 64 male and eat my body weight in meat per day)- I left full and satisfied. Normally, at small eateries, fries are terrible. Gavins, on the other hang, uses legitimate fresh cut fries. The server was great, while being prompt and friendly.Overall, I would make a trip back just to eat here again, regardless of prior travel plans. Much better than the Dennys (and I love Dennys), Buffalo Wild Wings, and Texas Road House in the area. Just do yourself a favor and come here.

So my kids really wanted to go to gavins...have been there many times and it was good. But this time i almost threw up...i still might. My son left sick because food was undercooked...soggy...or way over cooked. Couldnt move the cocktail sauce with a backhoe it was so hard...not frozen..possibly out dated or spoiled. Water taste like it was taken from a sink or toilet..didnt taste like that last time?!? Sorry gavins we will not be going back and i gave you 1 star because other times was ok but wish i could have given you none. Still had to pay full price for food i bearly ate and will now be throwing up......

This is my favorite Burger place! They have some great burgers with variety and their other food items are always cooked really well too. Try thier sweet potato fries with cinnamon butter. Sooooo good!

Pitiful...Worst experience Ive ever had at a bar & grill, hands down. What limited drinks they offered were way overpriced - barely a full bar anyway. There was only one beer on tap. On top of that, the service was pathetic. Although I was one of only maybe five people at the bar, it took about ten minutes after I ordered for me to receive a glass literally filled halfway with foam. It was warm anyway. This was because the glass was warm. Like, just came out of a hot dishwasher warm... So although the beer was cold at the start, it got to room temperature fast. Not good at all. Im pretty sure every other bar in the world (maybe a few exceptions in North Korea and Ethiopa) chills their glasses.The bartender was beyond unhelpful. In fact, the fat, blonde, middle-aged woman with a face like a bullmastiff was rude to me and other customers at the bar. When I asked for whiskey she took a while of searching through bottles just to tell me that my first two options werent there. I then said jokingly,No Jim Beam or Old Grand Dad? What whiskey do you even have then?Instead of simply answering my question and suggesting a different drink, she took my playful comment personally and snapped back at me:If you dont like our selection that you can leave!I did.She definitely doesnt make many tips. It was hard to feel sorry for her.I do feel sorry for the other reviewers on this page who gave this place anything above three stars. They must not get out much. Im pretty new to this area but Id recommend just about every other restaurant or bar Ive been to in Tuscarawas County before dooming someone to the experience I had here. Id recommend microwaving some hotdogs and buying your own alcohol before I told anyone to come to Gavins.If you go here, you will wait an unreasonable amount of time for cold, soggy food (I know, it doesnt make sense). You will sit at a bar and wait five to ten minutes for an unpleasant woman to pour you a glass of beer that looks like a drunk chimpanzee filled it in two seconds.To put it simply: Foods cold. Beers warm. Selection and service sucks.

They have great fish and French fries. They also have the best bloody mary in the area as well.
The food is great every time i go there and our waitress was amazing it was Valentines Day and we went there for dinner as a family with our three children and my mother inlaw and after our meal the waitress brought us out a cheesecake that she said was on her that my children just loved then before we left she game them each three beaded necklaces and wished them a happy valentines day one of the best servers i have had in a long time but each time we go to this restaurant our service is so wonderful.

2022-02-16I’ve only been to Gavin’s twice, each visit the service has been wonderful. Our food was incredible & we’ve had no wait time to be seated / limited wait for our food. The price is very accurate for the portion & flavor. Gavin’s martini menu has several options also.

2022-04-23Service was great. About a 20 min wait. Came for fish Friday. All of the food was just very bland. There was zero seasoning on anything; Sweet potato fries, fair fries, fish, burger… the Garlic burger bun was all mushy. It was a very basic burger. Nothing to write home about. The breading/fry on the fish was great, just wish there was some seasoning at least. It was cooked very nicely, perfect flakes. There was some odd liquid oozing out of the 2nd batch of fish as well and didn’t smell as fresh. Very loud party of children next to us. The father stunk of cigarettes while trying to enjoy our meal. The drinks are always killer however.

2021-08-18We went here on a whim. We were originally planning to go somewhere else but they were packed so we saw this place listed when we searched for restaurants in the area. We drove by it on and decided to stop here and eat instead of going to a chain restaurant and we were so glad we did. Phenomenal food and great service.

2021-08-25We used to go to Gavins a lot but had not been to Gavins in a long time more recently due to a poor waitress the last time we went. I always guessed she was terminated but, we hesitated to go back. I had heard and read about the food still being really good so we decided it wasnt fair to hold only one experience against them. We are outdoors because I am immune compromised and about to have a major surgery. It was pleasant in the outdoor seating area. Our young woman that waited on us was terrific and the food was really, really good. The beer on tap was also excellent. So, please dont hold one experience against a restaurant or tavern. It could be a truly rare occurrence. We will definitely be going back.

2021-09-18We had great service and great food here! I had yummy fish tacos and my husband had all you can eat fish. Their fish is good without tater sauce but Gavins tarter sauce is too good to skip! Dont forget to have a martini!

2022-04-24We stopped based on reviews. The food was excellent. Hot, flavorful and large portions. I like my fries crispy, but these are more like fair fries. Just fyi. Still hot and tasty. Service was great. Prompt and friendly.I took food home. My grilled cheese sandwich was just as good reheated in the oven. Well definitely stop again.

2021-05-05My beautiful Bride and I ate here while visiting New Philadelphia. It was my birthday, not the reason we went but they did give us a couple complimentary shots, very nice. I loved my pizza quesadilla! My Bride had chicken with mashed potatoes and 🥦. We loved the place and its people and would definitely return.
