Once a golden gem of revitalization in Cleveland, the Galleria is now the armpit. The owner overcharges the renters so they find greener pastures in which to move their businesses. The once busy food court is now dominated by a single Chick-fil-a kiosk out front. Even the local Winking Lizard had decided it has had enough and is leaving. Avoid at all costs...
It is not what it originally was ment to be. A mall for the downtown business crowd. The building is as pretty as ever but most of the stores have left. There are some boutique shops, a small Hungarian museum and a food court. There is a nice restaurant with a outdoor patio. The YMCA has a gym there. Most of the clientele is from the office buildings around the indoor mall. Such a large beautiful structure that is circular roof glass inclosed but with so few people even though it is in the middle of everything. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is 2-3 blocks down the street as is the Great Lakes Science Center, the football stadium, Lake Erie and the USS COD (a WWII sub/museum). I enjoy the architecture but so little shopping. Like a beautiful train station with few trains or an old Gothic bank with high ceilings, polished brass railing and marble floors and columns but only ATMs and only a few tellers. Worth a look if you enjoy modern architecture and a stroll by the high office and government buildings.
Just about any shopping mall in the suburbs is better than this place. It isnt run down, but there just isnt much to do or but there outside of the food court. There really is no reason to go here unless you are in desperate need for something sold by one of their stores and cannot wait, or you are on some kind of scavenger hunt.
Theres nothing there. The food court is down to 4 places now. There are a couple site down restaurants there, including Winking Lizard, but thats it. The revolving doors are closed off, probably because they cant afford to do the maintenance on them. Theres a YMCA going up there soon, but this is strictly a place for people who work in the area to eat. Almost no shopping to be done. Go to Tower City or the East 5th Street Arcade where everything is.
Great Steak is keeping the Galeria open. Theyd always a line and the fid is anyways great. As for the test of the Galeria, theyre needs to be more food options and the vacant stores need to be filled in with new businesses. The glass ceiling and 2 story atmosphere make it a cool environment. Dollar bank and the ymca take up half of the facility. Bring on some new food choices!

2022-05-01Beautiful building and architecture! The interior is almost a ghost town with just the winking lizard and YMCA populating the building most hours of the day. Came here to eat at the lizard. For some reason the womens restroom was locked but the mens was open. If youre around, it is worth stopping in, but I wouldnt travel to come see the building.

2021-12-19Its empty with the exception of one restaurant on first floor and a ymca on other end. thats not the point of this review. the point of this review is that this is a remarkable example of architectural brilliance. it was a good visit merely to admire the building.

2019-06-29Aesthetically this place is pure art to gawk at. Shopping not so much. Unless you are looking for some Hungarian Culture this isnt quite the place for you. The food court is alright, but not a whole lot of variety. The Chick Fill-a was closed on a Friday and Quiznos was closed up for good. Despite the ridiculous parking prices, I would still recommend checking out this place. Its not often that you see a mall relic like this. Kinda shocking how the surrounding area didnt keep this amusing site bustling.

2022-06-11This place has no decent retail space or anything going for it. It needs to be seriously purchased and have a new investment of new tenants to bring this place back to what it used to be as it was a very nice shopping center and asset to the downtown area.

2022-07-12The Galleria at Erieview is desolate, we went in to eat at the Winking Lizard but I was very disappointed to see that nothing else was open. To be honest it looks almost deserted.

2022-04-06I feel bad about how downtown CLE, in general, has become a Ghost Town. Tower City, Westside Market, The Flats are Dead. Im embarrassed when I see tourists walk a few blocks, and I hear them say things like, it doesnt look like theres anything this way, lets go back. Oh! I almost forgot the Old Arcade, Nautical Queen, and Goodtime ]]] are out to pasture. I never see promotions for the Observation level of the Terminal Tower (is that even open anymore)What about the tours of the old Subway Tunnel under the river? I could go on, but Im starting to get 😩 nauseous. The Cleveland Chamber of Commerce alongside 40yrs of Horrific Mayors are at fault for keeping Cleveland what it is, just another run-down Rust Belt City. Are there ever any conventions at the new convention center? Its empty every time I walk by. Who knows, maybe its not promoted either 🤔 🤷 😕Sincerely, Befuddled in C-Town

2018-01-14Ok...so this place looked like a dead shopping mall....which is exactly what it is. BUT ... there is a wonderful little Hungarian museum inside...which is why I visited. Definitely worth a look.
