Air bags anyone? This place is unique. Every one is serving with a smile. They help each other. These people, really know what team work is. Its always a pleasure to stop by, and make my parts purchase here.Thank you FYDA FREIGHTLINER COLUMBUS and staff. You guys ROCK.Until next time.THANK YOU.
It really takes forever. I’ve read the reviews and some good and some bad. But the time frame here is not good at all someone need a little motivation in the shop...other than that they are friendly, I was able to shower and door dash is in the area! Due to the automatic 48hr waiting period I’m losing major money. Corporate just need to motivate these guys a lil more cause it seems they’re taking their precious Time ..
Charged me 541.00 did not fix my truck . what they did .was a waste of time and money didnt need done.they changed new which was put on a week before they said was bad and it was good if they would filled air to air up egr was leaking all air to air hoses leaking.these were no Sall leaks.intake throttle valve was bad .no test were done like they should of been done. was almost a week to get in and truck not fixed they dont know what there doing here I sit at freightliner Lexington KY they know how to test a truck Lexington freightliner fixed my truck by testing and putting parts truck needed I do business with freightliner Youngstown Ohio and barkeville pa got many years Columbus Ohio never again didnt even get a call back about what happened.i was treated very unfair and asked mechanic to test truck his answer was I plugged new sensor in and reading ok well last sensor was put in a week ago they just dont burn out for no reason they did nothing I asked them to do thanks to Lexington freightliner my truck is running good with no problems because they ran test and found problem.
Had my truck in this shop to replace a starter and the mechanic forgot to connect the ground circuit wire for the condenser leaving in hanging and basically caused it to burnout. This dealership refused to honor their work and I had to pay $1000 to TA to replace it! No accountability from them after spending $8000 with them in the past 8 months! Needless to say I wont be coming back to this shop!
Store was to be closed at 4p this past Sun. I showed up to get parts at 3:33P, and doors were closed. There were 10s of people waiting outside wanting to come and spend money, since Monday would be a holiday thus closed. Some drove an hour or so get what they need, and sadly were turned away. The Manger on duty Brett was telling reps to close the doors. Very unprofessional. Change your hours
My husbands truck was stuck in freightliner in PA they wanted us to wait 45 days to fix his truck I called this place for the parts spoke to Matt and Sara and let me tell you amazing people they tried helping us out in any way they could since the other place wasnt helping us andI appreciate the help and honesty from these people truly!!!!!
Matt in parts was very professional, and efficient when I called for a part. He was able to cross-reference a part number and provide a solution to my customer needs. Its evident he cares about customer service and the quality your business represents. I will continue my business with Fyda for the foreseeable future.
This is a bad company. I had my truck towed to them they tried to say that I had someone else work on my truck and i did not .they sent in an invoice to my insurance making them think that i had someone else working on my car and now my truck insurance will not grant my warranty even though i am within my mileage. They are stating that my truck needs 640000 worth of work and now my insurance will not provide warranty. Never go to this place again. Beware they are not a good company . GO SOMEWHERE ELSE BAD BUSINESS.
I called and asked how long they would need to perform a service. They told me two and a half hours.I went in and after an hour of waiting and my tractor not moving I asked the service desk if there was a delay. They changed the story and said no it would take us two and a half hours to get you in the shop.Another person there waited 7 hours before his truck was put in the shop. After I heard that I got my keys and went somewhere else.Dont give your customers itemized wait times. give them the entire wait time.
Well....went out of our way to come and get a couple parts...since they are open 24 hours. Anyway, arrived @ 9pm and found all the doors locked and nobody anywhere. There is a sign on the door stating after hour parts need to be called in, but it’s open 24 hours....you figure it out. So we came back to our truck and proceeded to call...we have now been waiting 22 minutes for someone to answer the phone. Based on this, I would have to agree with the many negative reviews and would avoid this facility!
I was passing thru Columbus when my 2013 M2 wrecker broke down with transmission faults. I had to leave truck with Fyda no other options. They had the truck for a week and a half. I was told the TCM was bad and needed replaced which was a $2044.00 job. No other way to get truck home I said yes go ahead with repairs. A couple days later I received a call that truck was running great with no issues and ready to be picked up. I drove 6.5 hours to get there being I live in West Virginia. Paid my bill let truck warm up while loading my personal vehicle so I could drive back home. Didn’t even make it out of their parking lot and I could tell truck still had issues with shifting. Went back inside to the service desk where I explained the issue and the guy behind the counter informed me that the tech had said he couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the truck and it needed to go to a transmission specialist because they don’t service Allison transmissions. Which in return I said well if you don’t service Allison transmissions why do they come factory in a freightliner and why did you sell me a service for which you wasn’t qualified for. Needless to say i wasted $2044.00 dollars with this company. Horrible customer service. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Prime example of why mechanics get bad names. This place is prime example of highway robbery and you’ll still have to find another way home. HUGE CROOKS STAY AWAY.
A lot of companies use covid as a cover for their incompetence. This is one of those places. It’s been one year. Change your google hours of operation to 8-5 and don’t leave 10 people waiting outside because your sign infers people can get their part by calling a number. This place has 3 stars for a reason. Don’t go out of the way to come here because you won’t leave with anything you need.
If you’re just picking up parts on will-call and during after hours, do not select will-call on the phone. Just make the selection as if ordering parts. They put me on hold and did not answer for 30 min. Then I called parts and was assisted right away. What a waste of time.
Their detailer JD did thee best job ever. Our new truck looked absolutely amazing(showroom quality)plus he was super cool. We were extremely pleased and didn’t have any complaints at all.It was a pleasure working with everyone at Fyda. We all have bad days but these guys really find a way to work through it and do the best job possible to please the customer.
I can’t say enough good about the parts and service department here in Columbus!! We had a truck go down on Friday, I called Jerry in service and they were able to accommodate us that evening. Fast forward to Sunday evening and it was ready to be picked up Monday morning! Product support is paramount when it comes to owning a fleet and Fyda has it figured out!! We appreciate all Fyda does for us and will recommend them to everyone!!
TUBAH # 2020This is a bed company , I tow my truck to them They use unprofessional language , to help my warranty company not to approve my claim , like they thing some one want was in my truck befor I bring to them , and know one didn’t work on my truck , and they want to charge $64000 to fix a motor , how many brand new engines can buy whit $64000 , please don’t take your truck to this people 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
I usually buy parts for my truck and one day I went there to buy clutch for my truck and they told me it 2,301 dollars.I surprised how high the price was.while I was at the sight I googled if the there is any other place that sell truck parts in Columbus Ohio and I found by the name Fleet pride amile away.I called them to inquire about the price and they told me it is 1750.00. And they texted me to see if they match and they are the same.that is a difference of almost 600.00 dollars. Then I bought the freight liner clutch and went to the other place and bought the other one too and took to my mechanic to make sure it fits my Truck. The mechanic told me both fits my truck and took the cheaper one and returned the freight liner one. Before I bought I asked them about the warranty and return policy.Within 2 hours I returned the clutch unopened with the pallet attached at the bottom. They told me that I have to pay 20% restocking fee.I told them why should I pay that since the item is in the original package not opened.Afer arguing for awhile I told if I can see the parts manager and thy directed me to his office. Then a lady at the reception told me to wait since he is on the phone and the lady left for the day.I waited for about 5 minutes and the the skinny lady whom I think is supervisor at the front desk and who first sent me to the manager came and told me the manager is not here,I told her why do you send then and she could not give clear answer. She told me to come back tomorrow to see him.I told her I don’t have time to come back. They took 20% of the money.which is 445.00 dollars and gave me the receipt and I went home.Any the conclusion of my story is this scam by ripping off the money of hard working truck drivers and drivers should be careful about this place and instead shop your truck parts Fleet Pride which very much cheaper with good customer service and is only 1 mile away from freight liner and their address is 2141 international st Columbus Ohio 43228.
The worst service ever. Sent driver with truck to this shop with my Freightlaner Cascadia on 09/03/2020 with check engine lights and had to wait untill 10 am next morning. Mechanic started checking it, and at 2 pm driver called us and told service need authorization for 2 more purs diagnostics , we did give them authorization, but they said mechanic who was working on the truck went home and will come back next morning, suggest to wait untill next morning. Next morning calling them 9 am and they said there is a problem with wire connection and they don’t know exactly, and suggested to wait untill next morning their guy who can come and check it during driving and they already have invoice for $805 FOR NOTHING , they DON’T KNOW WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH TRUCK BUT STILL CHARGING. And their mechanic works untill 12 pm , and THEY DON’T CARE AT ALL after that time
I had the pleasure of dealing with Mr Chip Lawson and this guy and his team, made my experience very very pleasant. These people went above and beyond from start to finish and even after the deal was done, I had a issue trying to register my truck in FL and these guys were always on top of everything. They help me and guide me step by step and I will definitely buy trucks from them again. Extremely grateful for everything!
Mark, we already spoke with you while fixing the truck, so whats the point! I wrote this so higher management can get your house in order! The worst shop in the history of shops. Without a doubt, the worst in every aspect of working, they lie, cheet, steel, and we end up with derated truck and with over 3000 usd receipt. STAY AWAY FROM IT. Go literally elsewhere, hand paush your truck further down the road if needed, will worth your while!!!
I have to admit that the service clerks except for one are very professional and courteous. They are responsive and present a helpful appearance. I would love to know what happens in the shop though. Every time we take our truck there, it is never a one stop deal. We pay for repairs and then have to bring it right back because the problem has not been resolved. Every time we pay outrageous labor fees and never leave with the secure feeling that the problem is resolved. I honestly expected more from the dealership! Owner operators agree to pay dealership prices to get unmatachable quality service. I do not look forward to the next time that we have no choice but to deal with this dealership. In the least, I am disappointed.
My experience with Fyda Freightliner from start to finish was the most pleasant experience as a first time buyer. As a first time buyer I had many questions and was unaware of the process, my sales man Dave Shaffer was available when we needed and that’s very important because I lived 2,000 miles away! Yes that’s right I bought a truck and wasn’t in the same state and everything ran smoothly! I’m so grateful for his persistence his worth ethic and his ability to connect to with me as a client. I can go on and on about my experience which was very pleasant so if you’re looking to buy a truck this is the place to purchase don’t hesitate if you’re not in the same state they will do their due diligence and make sure to get you in the truck!! Thank You Fyda Freightliner, and Dave Shaffer for the amazing experience!
We dropped off our truck last Thursday and and we still have not gotten a call about what the status of the truck is. Whenever I call they leave me on hold for a while and sometimes don’t even come back. Very bad service. I have dropped off my truck here 5 times and neither of them had a good experience. They can’t figure out what is wrong with the truck.
Great customer service in sales with a good selection of used and new trucks. Im not just saying this. Ive been to a couple of other dealerships across the country and these guys beat them hands down. Service the way it used to be, and should be. Maintenance is a little slow but I think that is an issue across the country with so many trucks and not enough shops. They did do the job and they did it right. Again, the other places Ive been to it seems like they do as little as possible.
Waited for over an hour to get help purchasing a new air seat. One of the parts associates acknowledged that I needed help but then disappeared. After 45 minutes I went to the parts counter and was ignored by another person who just browsed the computer. There were 3 associates working the parts counter and only one was with a customer. One of them could have at least acknowledged that I was there. I finally walked out. That was a waste of an hour and a half of my time. Ill just spend my $1,000 on a air seat somewhere else.
Ill definitely highly suggest you...DO NOT TAKE YOUR TRUCK THERE for any repairs.Dont get fooled. They need to hire Pro CSRs, including Management staffing. They literally dont care what work you need to get it done. They just do whatever they want.I waited 4 days, then they had my truck in for about 5 hours, and it was checked out with only half of the work I asked for.I wish theres a ZERO star I can rate them.I am glad that I wouldnt your asses again, nor any of my friends.
Brought my truck in for repair at 8am. Told them I had a knocking noise in my front end. Was told that I would be put in their 10am-2pm time frame. I told them I was waiting and just wanted to make sure it was safe to drive. Told them I still needed to make a pick-up that day before 4pm. At 3pm they still had not looked at it and I was told it wouldnt be till sometime in the night before they got to look at it. Was very disappointed with their communication especially after I was very specific about what I needed. Communication with your customers about what is going on with their vehicle is key. Ive worked for a Toyota dealership as a service technician and it was always our goal to be honest about wait times and cost. Hopefully this is something they can work on in the future.
Great staff at Fyda and good communication. These guys took good care of me! Jason (Parts manager) is beyond awesome, friendly and helpful been purchasing my parts since 2005 thats why I remain my fleets 100% Freightliner trucks good trucks and easy to get the parts and affordable.
Horrible place. Took my truck in because the espar heater had message of no flame and didnt work for 5 days. The tech ran it and it worked all of the sudden. Charged $185 and two days in the shop for nothing. Get my truck back and 3 days later the same issues. Also wanted the enginee idle shutdown turned off. They hooked it up and said it was already turned off. No its not because the truck turns off after 30 mins. Now Im Im Colorado where its freezing and I have to get up every half hour to keep my truck running. Oh and I mentioned taking a look at my driver side speaker because it didnt work. Next thing I know, they got the dashboard torn apart and ordered a new radio. Wanted me to wait another day for that to come in. I wonder if they took advantage of me because Im a female driver or if they treat all the customers like this. ** Beware** These people WILL rip you off and NOT do their damn jobs. In total $809 for them to do absolutely nothing to fix my issues. I do not recommend going here. There is another dealership like 30 miles away. Go there instead. Might have better luck.
The staff on the night shift was absolutely fantastic! I had a U-joint go bad on my International, and was left sitting by Advanced Maintenance, who said they would come and change it out. It was late, I was frustrated beyond words, and tired. I called Fyda, they had the part I needed, and said they would squeeze me in as soon as the could, probably between 4-5 am. I got there, and was greeted by Anthony with utmost professionalism. At that time he told me between 1-2 if they could. I went out to catch some sleep and was woke at midnight, because they were ready for me. That was probably one of my happiest waking moments, lol. I was very pleased with the service, the atmosphere, and the people I dealt with! Thank you very much for your hard work! I would recommend Fyda Freightliner to anyone for your truck repair needs!
Definitely DO NOT buy a used truck here. I spent close to 50k on a used frieghtliner. They tell you they have all these inspections they do to go over the trucks before they sell them, I highly doubt that is the case. Our truck has been back in the shop more than on the road. I’ve put close to 5k in the truck in the 4,000 miles we drove it, plus another few thousand in truck towing and rental. Sales staff is also bad, hard to get people to return phone calls or email. I need to buy 2 more trucks and I will buy out of state if I have to just to avoid this place.Update: owners response to my review is that they think I didn’t buy the truck there because they can’t find it in their records. I absolutely purchased a truck there 8 months ago. I see a trend from reading these reviews. If there is a bad review they don’t like, they just say they have no record of it. My sales person was Brent, maybe check his records Fyda of Columbus.
Hey Guys... today I drop my truck at 11:15 am 11-09-2020 just for wheel alignment And I said, Tomorrow morning we booked load. Get me back to work today, After waiting all day, when we called at 7 o’clock in the evening, they told us that there was more issues monitoring we need permission for Diagnose, I’m really very fool I should have seen reviews first, Then at 11 Pm oclock at night he said that we will check it in the morning and tell you all how much work there is in it. There was nothing any work in my truck before we come here.
CUSTOMERS BEWARE!! Dropped off Semi-Truck to have work done that was under warranty. Fyda did NOT contact the warranty company prior to doing the work for approval (even though we reminded them to do so) and it voided the warranty. Fyda refused take any responsibility for their error and we had to pay the total amount out of pocket to get the truck back! We should not have had to pay for their mistake, but we needed the truck back on the road to support our family. They knew that and took advantage!! Their website says they have unifying principles of Quality, Trust, Respect, Pride and others - LIES!! Tim Fyda should be ashamed!
We took our company Sprinter here to have a knock sensor replaced. When we picked it up the radio and blower no longer operated. We called and informed them and were told to bring it back,We needed the truck so we didnt get it back until a week later. We were charged over $400.00 to replace a fuse (?)Definitely not going to buy another Sprinter and avoiding FYDA for future service.
Been here since last Wednesday, was told that the truck was be in and out by the next day, Thursday come and I find out that that person lied. Another person told me it will be Saturday, Then Saturday comes and Saturday goes, So I can say that person has lied also. So about three of them look at the board and agreed that its not going to be able to get a diagnosis until Monday, Which is Today. Hopefully I didnt get my information from a group of liers. However I have heard that when they do get to doing work its a good job. Should I believe that?? This is a 24/7 open facility and I still get lied too for something as simple as Time. Well I will keep you posted. The good the bad and the ugly. O,yes. They are a friendly staff while they are lying, but its a GREAT seafood restaurant walking distance called Franks, and Walmart is down the street from there.
Went in with an oil leak and ac not working. I told them the oil leak was from the pan and ac was blowing hot. They called the next day told me the oil leak was a pressure sensor and the ac just needed a recharge. I oked the repairs. The next day they told me the pan was seeping. What is seeping seeping is a leak that is not covered on warranty. Oked that repair. The next day they told me the front cover was leaking but they didnt have parts and it would take two days to get them. They sealed it with silicon. The ac still blew hot and they told me they couldnt detect a problem all they could do was charge to diagnose. In total 4 days $2400 and I left with an oil leak (seep) and ac that blew hot. Avoid this place at all cost, if your truck breaks down in their parking lot save yourself some time and money have it towed to another shop.As an update I took it to Frieghtliner of Idaho. The AC compressor was not even powering up, Fyda didnt detect anything wrong. They managed to get the front cover under warranty. I paid in total $1900 Fyda charges me $2400. They took 3 days of home time Fyda took 4.And yes I did refuse repairs at Fyda, after the second time they stoped work on approved repairs to wait for approval for other repairs. Yes you stoped work on the oil leak to wait for approval on the surge tank and again the next day to wait for approval for a radiator flush. I said no to get them to keep working on it.Nothing makes a bad shop look worse then a great shop fixing it cheaper and in less time.
Came in for an oil change, and I was charged service that was not rendered. I pointed out the mistake to them and I still had to argue for half an hour, and then wait another hour for manager before it can be straighten it out. Also, they said they would charge me 4hrs to write a quote. And yeah... your record wont show. OKAY!
VERY SAD.I drop my truck for Check Engine light on and some def issues on the 28th of December 2018. I heard back from them after a week for an estimate, I gave them go ahead after some days I was told my truck was fixed then I went there to pick up my truck after paying the bill I went to start my truck but it wont start. I come back to service desk, they told me maybe its the battery. They send someone to jumpstart but failed. Then i was told they have to tow my truck back to service same night to check the problem and to I have pay the labour, said ok (I have no choice). I called the next morning I was told no one checked your truck but will bring in now. Called next day same thing. Then next day same thing and maybe we need to replace the batteries. I told them go ahead give me an estimate. He says ok. Never called me. I called this morning was told over 900 to replace the batteries. Its now 15 days my truck at fyda still waiting.GUYS! GUYS! GUYS!.MY ADVICE IS THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU COME HERE. UNLESS ITS YOUR ONLY OPTION PREPARE FOR IT.
They cheat on parts, labor and everything in between.Transmission broke on Columbia so they order new one because j wanted all parts new one.J went to pick up the truck shifting was very unpleasant.Got back they said there is nothing wrong.Next day in local shop where j live we take down the transmission to find out that old parts and gears were used in the transmission that came in new.Custom parts were found also probably because they didnt have one available.J paid around $12.000 to this people.Truck was used for local needs after this repairs and gave up with shifting issues the first week in service. There were visible traces on the bolts on the transmission that they were opened.J strongly advice people to dont spend their money in here because your problems with your equipment can get just bigger.
One star is actually too much, the parts sales man is REALLY rude, I walked in with a good sense of humor and when he got me the part, I respectfully asked him if theres any kind of discount I could get, so he said I had to ask him nicely or else the price will go up, I had asked him nicely in the 1st place, and I would like them to know that Im asking for a discount, I wasnt begging him, mind u guys that I drive over 200 miles to there to get the parts, this type of people is a waste of oxygen. Would NEVER go there again
We bought our truck new at Fyda, but since then decided to go with Internationals.Lenny in Parts is why we keep coming back to that otherwise less than average place. He is always quick and very pleasant to deal with. Their service department is indeed terrible place to be, after few visits we found other local shop that treats us right.
Very thankful to the service dept. for how nice they were to me over Fathers Day weekend when I was broken down with my company tractor and was able to stay in the truck for the duration as I needed to. Kudos to Louie, Jerry, Anthony and Drake for their helpful service.
My fist experience with them was good, I dont know about the second one because I took my truck in today. I thought they were expensive until I took my truck to a local shop only for the mechanic to go behind me and took the truck to Fyda Freighliner and came back to me to say that he has fixed my truck. Wonder shall never end.
Hi, I want to begin with our driving experience I have 19 years and my husband has 42 years driving. We have driven 13 , 10, double over 2 sticks, auto shift, and auto matic transmissions. We delivered a load at forward air, the truck a 2018 cascadia freightliner, auto matic. The truck would not go in gear, we had to have it towed to this freightliner service center. The message on the instrument panel was starter locked shift to neutral. The truck would pop out of gear and would be stuck in neutral. 2 days later we were told it was fixed. All they did was reset the computer tell our boss we did not know how to drive a automatic, which we have been in a automatic for over 5 years. This was warranty work, we drove that truck for 10 months like that, it would go into neutral all the time. Finally it gave up. Thank God we were in Amarillo Tx. They found the problem right away it was a broken prong on a plug. They replaced the plug and we havent had any problem since. This was a safety issue they were either to stupid to figure out what was wrong, or they didnt want to do warranty work. They would rather lie about the drivers and send you out the door. I can tell you this if there would have been a accident because of this , and I would have survived I would have sued them. They charged our boss , never fixed it, and sent us down the road. DONT GO THERE, GO TO ARMILLIO TX. THEY ARE THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY. JUST CHECK IT OUT. I cant tell you how many times coming down a mountain that this truck popped in to neutral and would not go back into gear until you stopped shut it off and reset the computer. Because of what they said we were forced to drive it. Stay away from this service center.
My truck been there twice in the last 12 months. 4 weeks the first time and now its been 21 days for a EGR valve they claimed to fix 8 months ago. They told me they would order the parts on dec19th they didnt order the parts until December 27th. I been sitting for 3weeks and they dont care to get me back up in moving. Ill sale my truck befor I bring it back to this freightliner dealer.
This location is a joke and way over priced! You can go to a different FYDA with more knowledgeable staff almost half the cost. The staff to the managers are very dishonest. I came there because my fan wasnt shutting off and was told after paying a lot of money for the same problem that I needed a new MCM which was around $2000 after taxes. I took the recommendation and had the part replaced. Once replaced, the fan still wouldnt shut off. I asked to speak to a manager again and was told to come back the next day.Show up the following day and was once again told no manager.I went to the part service and the guys there without looking at my truck recommended that I try a part which costed $68. I bought the part and took the truck to the Zanesville, OH FYDA location. They quickly put it in problem solved. The moral of the story is, STAY AWAAAAAAAAAAY for this location!!!! The least they could of done after costing me all that money and time was to refund me all labor but knowing this location and its managers that would never happen. LIFE MUST GO ON!
Night shift parts help is the worst!! Try calling for over 20 minutes just to get bing up on. Finally get through and the guy doesn’t wanna help me out with a simple measurement. If it was up to me I would drop our account with them at this point. Been an on going issue for weeks now.
Truly one of the worst experiences Ive ever had. I brought a truck in for service and $10,000 later I have a truck that doesnt work. They have no ability to diagnose a problem, they just started changing parts and charging you for it. Ive been in business for 20 years and operate 15 medium duty trucks and have never experienced anything like this place before. They actually should be shut down. I advise you to not go there EVER.
Would be lower if possible. I waited for 4.5 day to get a 5th wheel hitch rebuild. My company asked to have a new one put on and they wouldnt do it. And not to mention while sleeping in the truck the mechanic would climb on in and act like they owned the thing.never knocked once even after i put a sign in the window asking for them too. When the compaby called they said it would be out in 2 hrs. When i asked at the desk i was told it would take 8 hrs and to just go sit down and get over it.
Expect a very long wait. We called ahead and made an appointment yesterday. They said should take 3-3.5 hours to do our first 10,000 oil change and generator check on our freightliner truck RV. We arrived today for our appointment at 10am. They told us they would get started on it in 1 hour after our scheduled appointment. As we are still sitting here 5 hours later I went up to check on hows its going. Eric was very friendly in front & checked notes and said his tech started on it at 1:30pm. Which was 3.5 hours after our scheduled appointment. Eric just came in and said about 30 more minutes. We do appreciate the waiting area, free wifi, and pet friendly room. Just didnt expect to wait this long for an oil change especially with an Appointment. 6 hours and it might be done for us today, fingers crossed. -Well an update. 1.5 additional hours later and still not ready. We are going on 6.5 and counting. Again this is for our first 10,000 mile oil change on our 2017 freightliner RV.--Adams RV
This place is something else, they had my truck two weeks plus they keep telling me lies every day your truck will be ready tomorrow every time I come they said will be ready they kill my time and they asked a lot of money because they did a lot of work which I didn’t order to do it you go this place with a problem they will do something else to get more money 😠
I broke down at 3:30pm, i was towed to freight liner by 6:00. I was told they would de finely get to me on Tuesday, but may have a shot on Saturday. I was very lucky they were able to get me in around 3:00pm and by 6:00pm we were done. Mr. Nick who workers at the service counter was nice and keep me up on the status of my truck. The only complaint I had is that there parts guy is swap on the weekends, and needs help.
How this company gets repeat customers is beyond me.My truck was towed into Fyda freightliner in Columbus Ohio about noon on Saturday 11/10/18, I made a total of 4 phone calls on 11/11/18 to see where we were at with my truck because the broker was asking me, last phone call being at 6:42 pm with me being told the truck should be in yet that night.8am Monday 11/12/18 I called to see where we were at and was told they sent me an email at 11:32 pm the night before and were waiting for a reply (they were supposed to call me) so after telling them yes fix it I found out that they had to wait until they could get it back in rotation. It’s currently 4:28pm 11/12/18 and my truck is still not back in rotation and A couple that arrived here at 12:30 pm today (Monday 11/12/18) are paying their repair bill and leaving.I currently wouldn’t even give 1 star but had to pick one in order to post.
All i can say about this place is 5 stars! If u need to buy a truck ask for DAVE I guarantee you will be more than happy! If DAVE he is gonna tell you he is gonna do something on your truck he is gonna do it ! For me was the first truck and i m very happy with the truck and how they treat me ! I highly recommend this place ! Especially DAVE SHAFFER!
First time using them, bought a brand new truck and went in to fix my inverter and a leaky roof the factory missed. Picked it up, they charged me 329.00 to test my microwave and and turn on the apu, then called and said it was ready.I picked it up as soon as I could and booked a load. Them find out, NOTHING WAS FIXED! And the body shop hadnt even touched it. If they make it right a month from now, Ill give them a 2 maybe. First impressions are important, however costing me downtime is unforgivable
Horrible experience. Customer service was very rude and mean. Having my truck pre diagnosis at the T/A in Albuquerque N.M I was shown where I needed a system update (200.00 at best). I take my unit2010 freight liner Cascadia into Fyda dealership in Columbus, Ohio and they preformed their check. Came back that i need to replace dpf module. The total cost 2137.35 with tax + labor. I approved that amount. But when I went in later the next day. A full 24 hours, the foreman said to me the price changed and it is 2000.00 more than quoted. My unit was fixed without my knowledge of the highly increased price. I told the foreman that I did not approve anything more than quoted amount. He said to me... well then we will put your old parts back in their. I was sorely disappointed and upset. He said the reason for the up charge was because my cores were cracked. I ask, how long were you aware and why did you not inform me when you first knew they were supposedly cracked. He, of course had no answer. How do you rip consumers off fixed what was not authorized and then charge them double the amount. This place is terrible and I will be looking into filing charges for negligence. Completely unacceptable. Why isnt the OWNER DOING NOTHING ABOUT THESE ISSUES?
Bunch of crooks. Gave them 4 easy things to do. Took them 40 minutes total to complete the four tasks. They charged me four hours of labor, over $500. They said each task is a different job with a 1 hour minimum. Told them to undo everything they did and Id take my truck elsewhere. Had to fight for hours for that. Reported them to Freightliner USA and the Dept of Consumer Affairs for price gouging. Stay clear of this place at all costs. Also 4 hour window appointments mean nothing. Had a 2-6pm and they didnt start til around 730pm. The worst most non-existent management I have ever seen in a company. Pathetic and useless. The Fyda family should be ashamed to have their name on the building!
Do yourself a big FAVOR and stay AWAY from this FREIGHTLINER “FYDA” !!! Go to the end of earth to other repair shops but here. They will ripp you off every way they know , charge hours for jobs that take minutes , you wont be able to see your truck once inside the shop and you’ll never know what they do ! If you have some knoledge of mechanics its easy to realise you’ve been robbed . They will tell you the oldest trick in the book : ‘yeah .. usually it takes 1 hour to fix it but the bolts were rusty and took 3 hours to cut them , or if its a broken wire the trouble shooting for that takes 3-4 hours ! This is how they make money and how they treat you ! My next truck won’t be a FREIGHTLINER for sure ! Freightliner stoped doing reliable trucks since the Detroit 60 series has gone from the market . If you compare the price and time spent in repair shops you’ll see what a BAD decision FREIGHTLINER is for you !
Ive spent 6 days here at this establishment and have read all the reviews on this place. Now I am a strong believer in being fair so its only right to list the pros and cons, that way you the consumer can make your choice to do business with these folks accordingly. Cons: No updates on services renderedBring in your truck for one thing, and suddenly a million other things are wrong with it.Sat here for the better part of a week along with other customers that had also been here just as long. Keep in mind this business is open around the clock.Pros: A showerMen and women restroomsCable TV in waiting area along with comfy couches ( believe me they will come in handy).Vending MachinesDont just take my word for it though, I suggest perusing all other reviews as well. This place has a 2.4 for a reason.
As you read my review, keep in mind that I am (was) a returning customer. I am college-educated, and well established in the community. I own a 39 foot diesel Winnebago that periodically needs service or repair. My last repair at Fyda was critical. Without going into details, it took way too long and apparently wasnt quite the right part because it required drilling to fit it in. (I am cringing). The cost seemed to be way above normal. However, I paid for it, and it works, although I left with a sense of disappointment in Fydas ability to get the job done in a timely fashion, procure the correct part, and provide technical expertise to install said part in an efficient fashion. Now, to the present. I needed a transmission service interval taken care of. In english, a fluid and filter change. A screw-on external filter. My little manual for the transmission says how to do it. I just didnt have the time or a receptacle large enough to handle the volume of fluid. I decided to take it to a professional instead. After perusing the Allison Transmission website, I saw that Fyda was a certified service provider, and since I am (was) a customer, I decided to try them again, to see how a preventive maintenance task would be handled, since I was already aware (my opinion) of how an emergency repair was handled!I made an appointment to bring it in the next week and agreed to a 6AM to 10AM window. I arrived at 6:05AM. Somewhere around 9:30AM I inquired as to whether the work would still be done by 10AM. The look I received indicated that I might as well have asked for complimentary breakfast and a room. I made a comment to the effect of why set an appointment of 4 hours if you dont intend to honor it. I was told that they were trying to get one of the techs to look at it, but probably not till after 10. The window was beginning to look more like a chasm. Thirty minutes later I was informed that they dont have the filter in stock and would have to order it. Probably take a little while.Im seeing the chasm turn into a canyon...At 11:15, I had enough. I went to the counter and asked for my keys. The guy said, we dont have the filter, were just waiting on it. I asked for my keys. He said he cant find them. I said, Now youve LOST my keys? Another manager walked up with my keys and I left. In my opinion, no one should take their vehicle there unless they either have no other choice or dont want to see it for a while, or just want to spend time sitting around and sleeping. This was a colossal waste of my time. I have lost confidence in Fyda, and will NOT be returning. Caveat Emptor. You get one star only because I cant give you a ZERO. Your process needs attention. You need to hire more technicians and you need to honor your schedules. Have you even read the other reviews? I advise your customers to do so before they follow my lead.By the way, I am considered a very patient person, and very tolerant. Your staff at the Columbus Ohio facility pushed me over the edge.Get it together!
This dealership is a joke. I own several new Cascadia tractors and this one has less than 20,000 miles on it and their service dept. said they could not even look at it until noon the next day. They claim to be an Elite Dealership. Well the dealer we purchased our trucks from said they cannot understand what their problem is. I just checked and your dealership only has a 2.2 rating with over 45 reviews. Sounds like you need to make a change instead of having to apologize for these people.
Absolute JOKE!!! 3 months waiting for the Body Shop to receive several of my companys Deer On back order. They dont have the mounting bracket, go to Service my AC isnt working was told it would be in the Shop byLunchtime.NO, WRONG AHAIA!?! 24+ he wait to get in & Im Loaded Due in MN by 099
My husband, David, and I purchased a truck recently and could not have had a better experience. Dave Shaffer was our sales rep, and he really went out of his way to ensure that we were completely happy with our new truck. At our request, he provided all service documentation for the engine, APU, and reefer as well as inspection documentation. After we took delivery of the truck, Dave and the service department promptly corrected a few small mechanical issues. He worked with the off-site finance company and with the driver coordinator at our company. His coordinating with the finance company as well as our company made the whole process so much easier for us. We will definitely buy our next truck from Dave at FYDA.
AVOID THIS SERVICE SHOP AT ALL COSTS. When our vehicle broke down on the highway in Columbus we towed it to Fyda for diagnosis. It took 26 hours for them to even look at the vehicle. Since we had a driver waiting I made several phone calls to the service department and pleaded for them to look at it so I could decide what to do with the driver. Their response was your vehicle did not have an appointment so it will have to wait. Five minutes after the driver got on a bus to come back home I get a phone call from them saying that there were some codes active that they have cleared and are road testing but the vehicle is ready to be picked up. We drove 350miles to pick up the vehicle and when we got it back the same symptoms re occurred. After taking the vehicle to another service shop it was discovered that the transmission fluid wad leaking and was very low, which was the reason for the vehicle to have a problem in the first place. The service department at Fyda did not look into something so basic as the level of the transmission fluid in the 26 hours the vehicle was in their care, and sent us on our way with a $350 and a vehicle that nearly burned out the transmission. THEREFORE BEWARE
This is definitely a place to go to..to buy a truck... Dave Shaffer was my sales rep.... I just bought a truck here and I must say he went above and beyond to meet my standards they communicated with me as the truck came from Canada communication was key to me and they kept me posted every step of the way great place to do business
Took my 2015 Cascadia (295k miles / company truck) to Fyda to have them repair the automatic transmission (DT12) - which the day before had started high-revving much of the time during up-shifts - and I am happy to report that my overall experience from start to finish was very good. Since the repair, Ive driven the truck approx 1000 miles and everything seems to be in good shape. Actually give them 4 1/2 stars because they deserve an A grade on this one.
Based few miles to This Freightliner I own 10 trucks and Authority. We also have owner operators, To my experience this is the most expensive repair shop and also very slow. One bad wire our truck spent five days in there. Parts we already adopted Stoops Freightliner the price is less than half.
My third bad experience and with all the horrible experience every trucker in Columbus city had with these guys, i can name it devils workshop. They’ll kill your time and rip you off money mercilessly. I bet, the same issue that you came in will come back to you or you will have new issue before you even leave their yard. If you really love your truck look for other options, you’re lucky if they don’t cheat u on parts.
This place Services big semis small semis little Sprinter vans that have Mercedes Dodge engines in them any of anything that you would use as Logistics vehicle they are able to help you or at least point you in the right direction Ive never had an experience than they are chihuahuas sold something that I really did not need this is a great place to come if you want honesty and youre willing to pay a few bucks to get it diagnosed
These people are crooks with really bad attitudes. They had one of our owner operator trucks for 12 days without a diagnosis. The bill just kept climbing but no repair done. We decided to hook the truck to our local shop & even the tow truck driver said wow these guys are jerks. I will make sure to tell all of my owner ops to steer clear of Fyda Freightliner. They dont understand how to run an honest business.
Despite several negative ratings, I took our 2015 Jayco Seneca motor home (Freightliner M2-106 chassis) to Fyda Freightliner to have a parking brake recall completed as well as have the annual preventative maintenance performed on the engine and generator. I found the service department staff to be very professional and appreciated that they were up front about the fact that my motor home would be a secondary priority to the commercial operators who rely on their trucks for their businesses. I can understand and accept that - Fyda is an extremely busy shop.I was told that the work would likely take until the end of the week, and it was indeed completed on time. The only complaint I have is that I never heard anything from them while the RV was in for service (dropped off on Monday, picked up the following Sunday). I called several times to check on the status - and was given an update each time - but it would have been nice to have been kept in the loop a little more proactively.Overall, I found the experience to be better than expected. I will continue to use Fyda Freightliner for warranty work and major repair services.
Perfect place to buy a truck :)I have to say one of the best buying experience. Our sales representative, Dave Shaffer was patient, he listened and worked to get what Me and my Husband wanted. Dave Shaffer directed me to what was best based on want and price. Open and yes he was honest. He worked to get us the best deal. Thanks to Dave Shaffer and Caleb Dees fyda freightliner Columbus, OH
Worst experience with a male named Larry! The part was available but his customer services is horrible. Larry was rude, make huffing sounds over the phone, and annoyed that he was requested to repeat the credit card numbers as there was already a discrepancy. After I politely closed the conversation with thank you for your help, have a nice day Larry abruptly hung up with saying a word. A customer chooses to spend their hard earned money with a particular vendor...they do not have to...as the part I need was in stock at other Freightliners in the area. I would rather have my technicians drive as far as 50 miles than to give this Freightliner another dime of my money if Larry is a representation of FYDA Freightliner. My suggestion is for Larry to read Hug Your CustomersBook by Jack Mitchell, as his customer service requires major improvement.
In May 2017 my husband and I purchased a used 2014 Kenworth 660 from Fyda Freighliner. We had the pleasure of working with Dave Shaffer during this transaction. Our experience was very positive from start to finish. We found the facility clean with good driver facilities and the staff were polite and easy to deal with -- especially Dave who went out of his way to accommodate my husband on his fly-bys through town...even though they usually occurred after normal business hours. Dave met him twice after hours so he could test drive the unit and once again on a Sunday afternoon to complete the purchase and allow him to pick up the truck. Additionally there were a couple of issues with the truck we wanted corrected prior to purchase and Dave made sure the work order was handled correctly AND kept us updated of the status along the way. We would highly recommend not only Fyda Freightliner but Dave Shaffer in particular should you want to purchase a truck. Everyone definitely went above and beyond for us. Thank you -- the exceptional service was greatly appreciated!
Was there 26 hours for coolant leak , i told them where and what it was when i arrived. Again told mech 16 hours later when he came to get truck. 10 hours later i leave they replaced 2 coolant lines that goto the air compressor. Now on side of road w check engine lights on and mass loss of power . Coolant level low this morning when i did my pretrip insp.Do not recommend Period, if you can get somewhere else go .RtJ
More than two weeks since I delivered my truck, they still havent looked at my truck, I drove 380 miles from Chicago today to look at my truck, they said we will test it in two hours, but four hours have passed but still havent looked my truck, this is complete horror.
This place get it done, we drive on EXAM Transports fleet and when the rest of these shops cant figure out how to solve something our owner has us go see Wade and the service team at Fyda Columbus, they professional, they get the job done, good service center they work well with fleets and fleet drivers and the techs not afraid to answer questions over the phone or by email b4 we even got there
This place is not organized, they are not on the same page they are some what of a team but not really and the service department isn’t thorough at all.I took my truck there and it wasn’t great , no communication I had to call them and they kept it for a week for a pm as they acted like that was a lot of work. After it was all said and done I still got my truck back with 2 engine lights on.I will never go back to this place!
Lied to about times to get in around october of 18. Well we trying again to see if the service department will make up for the last time I tried for service. Its March 2nd 2019 checked in on 1st super late and was told about day and half to get in so Sunday the 3rd I should be getting truck checked out. To be continued....
Service desk seems like they dont have a clue whats going on took then a hour to find the paperwork for 2 trucks and couldnt find the keys found the keys to the one told us where it was parked went there wasnt there went back inside and come to find out it was on the other side of the lot behind like 6 other trucks they had to move to let us have the truck
Do they have 1/2 star??? Been here 3 times and each time i was there waiting well over 24 hours and get this their open 24 hour a week, but slow as a company that opens at 9 and closes at 5 with an hour lunch!!!! SLOW and like the other reviews out of thousands of dollars!! NO LIE Im thinking about opening a diesel repair shop thats where the MONEY is....Robbing People WithOut A Gun...
The problem is the reviews that are here is they dont tell the whole truth they just give a little of the problem fyda freightliner has alot of bussiness and they schedule at times a week out cause other cutsomers have already have a scheduled appointment then when a customer walks in they feel they should get right in before other customers. then some complain about the repair but all is pretty much a lack of maintenace that could of been preventive.then some dont know the diffrence in coolant that just put any thing in then the blame goes to the shop. PREVENTIVE MAINTNANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went here for truck not derating. When it was finally fixed they said they replaced the EGR Actuator drove away and got 2 hrs away check engine light back on and hearing exhaust leak. Took it to another dealer in Cleveland and they said when Fyda put on my Actuator they didnt line up the pipes and thats where the exhaust leak was coming from. Waiting to see if Fyda will cover the repair.
We bought a then new 2013 m2-106 business class special order from the factory to be our new expediting truck. Went to Fyda did the paperwork after coming up with more money for the down payment (10k wasnt enough, they wanted 20k, they got it) ,and at a higher interest rate than my 06 Hino 268 when bought new. After jumping thru all the hoops. They( Mr. S-----) forgot to put on the APU. A very expensive option, and one of our MUST HAVES for our new truck. After trying to get this matter resolved through Mr.S-----, he denies any knowledge of us ordering an APU. A little over a year later and we still have no APU. Fyda has left us hanging. I will NEVER go to Fyda for anything ever. If you like aggravation and poor customer service then by all means call them.
Any bad exparince you have with those scamers they don t give a f****k they will rip you off no metter what you write here, all is you trust the brand and trust the people all i know freightliner needs take this service from these scamers find other honest people to run this service i m done with this scamers never again...
Linton and Jason in the body shop are great... had my wing window fixed in less then an hour. Fydas truck shop here in Columbus has had a bad name for a wile. However I do think they are trying to turn it around. Seen some guys ( customers) coming in being just as rude as they can be. Theirs no need for that. I realy belive they want your truck done more then you do. Dealing with this truck shop the last two times, I really belive that. GREAT JOB!!!... the body shop has always been great!!!
Had my 2012 cascadia there twice for plugged def lines. 30 days between instantances flushed the lines, but never got a clear answer for why they keep plugging up. But on a up note car hit me new years eve Linton got me in and out in a timely manner despite the insurance companies dragging their feet.
Just cant see how this place still operates. They are the leader in being dishonest. Im reading the comments below and the owners automated like response. Let me guess you want me to call mark the manager so he side with his fake staff and rip me off. He wont fool me again.
HOLY CRAP took out sprinter in for a fuel leak. A new head and all that stuff later, and almost 3 weeks, I call again (by the way they will not call you back) to get told its all back together but i have a fuel leak (youre kidding) i told them that when it was brought in and i was told it was taken care of, DONT GO HERE I REPEAT DONT GO HERE. Get out and push, or walk or have it towed to st. louis believe me it will be cheaper.
Worst choice ever is to bring your truck fyda freightliner Columbus. Lied about the service you will have another issue. Even be fore you leav their facility and they will tall you we will check again another estimate and they will keep your truck to get more and more money this what hapen to me and couple owners. That. I knoe
BAD BAD BAD BAD and million times bad service. That place is ripping off ppl all the time. took my 3 sprinterS there and i would never ever recommend to any one that place to take your sprinter there, never address the problem, all big things that they can diagnose there is change your engine ,replace transmission .nothing else.they dont start with small problem, always recommend to replace the whole thing not even addressing the problem.Always ripping off ppl on cerise time CHARGING FOR EXTRA HOURS THAT THEY NEVER SPENT ON YOUR VIEHICLE. THIS IS RIPP OF. THEY ONLY CARE HOW TO GET BIG MONEY FROM CUSTOMERS BUT THEY DONT CARE ABIUT YOUR CAR PROBLEM. THET DONT CARE.BIG TIME RIPP OFF.STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE!!!!
Called to get a part # for a filter got a good answer that was we cant give out part #s it keeps us in business future refrence to all poor people who have to deal with them call autozone first and I feel bad for all who have to deal with there business all this b.s. for a $11.00 part what a shame but autozone set me up with my filter for $7.00 I would have gladly paid freightliner for the filter all I needed was a part # for the road side service tec. SHAME on you freightliner of columbus
Brought truck for an oil change, fyda did the oil change, 24 hrs later night shift guy Bob called said truck needs oil cooler cause there cross contamination and it will cost $3000. Dont know what happend in those 24 hrs, but no one in their right mind do an oil change and then do engine overhaul. Drove the truck in, and towed the truck out of freightliner cause they refused to fix it since I questioned what happend in those 24 hrs. Stay away, you come w/ small problems you leave w/ the major bill and a truck that cant drive .
Took my truck in for loosing power, check engine light comes off.. they told me it needed a new egr valve and a new egr cooler.. i believed them, paid them $3900.00 to have the repairs done.. took the truck out of the shop, 2 days later same problem, same symptoms, took truck back to shop, now they tell me a different issue, $1200.00.....it was the same problem as before. the same issues, now they charged me for another repair.. i have documents to back this up.. please feel free to contact me... please read all other reviews.. fyda freightliner , columbus, ohio just wants ur money... dateline nbc did a show about dealerships ripping people off, saying they fixed a vehical that didnt need the repair, just to get a high dollar repair.. i have emailed dateline nbc with my documents.. this place ripped me off.... read other reviews.. dont take your truck here...

2021-11-30Outrageous. Two stars cuz they are polite otherwise don’t bring your business here! I’ve been waiting for them to replace batteries since yesterday. Nearly 24 hours later they pulled the truck into the bay only to let it sit there while they go to lunch. I was patient and waited an hour after lunch break to get an update but still no one has began to do what they need to get done to help me get up and running!

2022-05-03Nice people but make sure you have a lot of extra time to waste. Was told that my RV would be able to have an oil change done over a three day period as I needed it back on a certain day, today. I had other work I wanted done but they told me ahead of time that they may not be able to get to that. I agreed but they said the oil change would be completed no problem. Well I call this morning, the day I need it, 3 hours ahead of time only to find out nothing has been done to it. No call nothing. Then to top it all off, when I got there to pick it up, they had not even moved it out. It was buried three vehicles deep in a parking spot so I had to wait further for them to move the vehicles. I wasted 2 trips from Dayton to Columbus for nothing. Very frustrated and will not be back.

2022-04-28I gave a star because This place has pleasant staff but by golly they overcharge for EVERYTHING and takes too long with repairs! They even upcharge on parts, even refurbished and wont give you the details to go and purchase it yourself from Cummins who has it for LESS. Thats just dishonest!I had to buy the same part TWICE even though the 1st one had warranty and they refuse to put a claim for a refund as if they are losing anything!Had to bring the truck back 2 months later for the same issue! They charged a hefty fee just to diagnose work that they did that clearly was not done right and the parts have warranty. They add a fee to use their tools, like wth. If you want to use your fingers to unscrew a bolt then be my guest! I dont pay a restaurant fee because they used their POTS and PANS!Sent me an estimate with parts at 3k but 8k for labor totalling $11k!! AND saying they dont know when they will start or finish repairs (minimum 3 weeks).I took my truck to a smaller repair place and my truck was repaired for LESS THAN HALF the price! Got my truck back in 4 days!❤If you have a fleet and dont care to lose TIME and MONEY then go here.I will never take my trucks here again!

2022-01-22Hey...I have a suggestion!!Why dont you hire someone to answer the phone?? When you open in the morning, that employee comes to answer the phone. If the phone rings, they answer it!When that employee goes to lunch, he/she gives the phone to someone else so that, if it rings, the ring will be answered. The employee should be told that a ringing phone, indicates an existing or potentially new customer sales to which will result in increased profit, for the company which is why the company was establishedEmphasis should be placed on the fact that if there are no customers, there will be no sales thus no need for a company. It should also be emphasized that the customers time is just as valuable to him/her as it is to the company. With this in mind, I have decided to go elsewhere as time is money and I have little of both. What a joke!

2022-04-08The personnel in the service department are great. I got checked in on a timely manner.
