The Fraze is the worst outdoor venue in the Dayton area, despite the misleading reviews from old folks who probably go to 1 concert a year. The Fraze is situated behind, and at the mercy of, a retirement community. Do you want to be yelled at for dancing? The Fraze is for you. Do you want to be surrounded by the elderly and children at a concert? The Fraze is for you. Do you want to go to a show where they stop selling all concessions right when the headliner takes the stage? The Fraze is for you. Do you want to go to a concert for all the reasons that people want to go to concerts? The Fraze is definitely NOT for you. Save your money for a venue where youll be free to have a good time.
First time there, but it will not be my last. I was there to see Morrissey and Interpol, a once in lifetime concert. Let me say despite the unusual heat, the concert was amazing! The venue was just as amazing, along with all the employees there. I could give you a good guess after about a half hour as to how many venues I have been to in my life. But instantly tell you that this was the best most intimate, friendly, perfect place to enjoy a concert. One person in our group needed handicapped parking. When I pulled up to a parking attendant to explain the situation. She wanted to know where our seats were, to park us as close as possible. To say the that she knew what she was doing. We were parked less than 300 feet from our seats. We had amazing seats, but even the worst seat would have been good one. Hopefully if this review doesnt do it justice these pictures will.
Was so excited to see a show here. Paid $370.00 for two tickets in the second row on the left side. I wasnt able to see the show. I bought the tickets through the Fraze website and they didnt say it would be a blocked view. I asked if I could stand in the isle to see the show, so did others in my section, very forcefully we were told to go back to our seats- no exceptions. The security there is insane. I saw a man get removed from the show in the front row for jumping too much, the security guard told him to stop, he didnt, got mouthy and was removed by police. If we moved 10 inches from our seat they told us to stay in our seat. NOT A PLACE TO SEE A ROCK SHOW. They seriously need to review the manner of politeness to patrons. Customers were treated terribly. I got to about 3 shows a month - never seen anything like this... Below are my $370.00 seats. If youre going, just get lawn seats.
Went to Art on the Commons at the Fraze. So many wonderful ,talented people selling their wares.I especially like wood, then ceramic or pottery items.Found some really unique wooden (made from old found trees) bird houses ,feeders, fairy garden decor and ornaments all made from old trees. The weather was great and the crowd was large. There were also 4-5 food trucks. If you like art in many forms,I suggest you go to next years Art on the Commons, the venue is beautiful.
Let me tell you about Mary. Mary is awesome, she works for the Fraze ticketing and when I accidently purchased tickets twice for a show, she really worked with me to get it straightened out. (Etix would not help me. When I called them, they told me too bad.) Etix did not send me a confirmation for the 1st purchase and it did not show on my credit card. I thought I did not purchase them, So bought them again.FYI if you do not get an email confirmation- Call Etix because they messed up.
The Kenny G concert was awesome. We had to leave before concert started because of thunderstorm & lightening. We had best seat because right in front of stage and mic. His band rocked too. All the Fraze employees were so kind and gave great customer service. Sorry some of my pics are mixed with Kenny G concert. Not sure why other concerts are included on this post.
Its clean but so many of little restrictions... No umbrellas, no baby strollers, no purses of a certain size, be aware of the restrictions and leave your car with whatever you supposed to have so you dont have a problem getting in. Which leads to the to point out coming to whatever festival early. Because the lines are worse than kings island and they always seem to run out of all that is needed in less time.
This place is pretty awesome. When you go to a concert here its like being in a big outdoor party. The only thing Id say is you should pay the extra to get decent tickets because if youre sitting on the lawn or terrace then you wont see a thing unless you stand up the entire concert and not everyone can do that.
We really enjoyed our experience at this venue. Workers were incredibly nice, there was plenty of free parking (even past doors open time), and there really wasnt a bad seat in the house. We sat in orchestra A 22-24 with completely unobstructed views the entire time. Sound was good and not too loud, we could actually hear the performers and not just the amazing instrumentals. The bathrooms were actually some of the best for an outdoor venue. We would definitely come to Fraze for another concert (we traveled from Columbus).
Recently saw Get the Led Out here and it was a great show. The on site facilities and grounds are very nice and well maintained. Parking can be a bit tricky, usually you have a short walk from one of the local school lots, but its a nice neighborhood in the surrounding area. When there arent shows the ground are essentially a park with some nice water features and benches to relax.
First time at this venue . surprised it pulls decent names but it does if you look . dont expect drinks tho they do serve beer/wine .. (ok one awning offered margheritas but it was mostly a sugar bomb of sour mix with ice and a (grenadine, schnapps, triple sec ..?) light liquor .. theres also another drink with coconut rum .. but no hard liquor and they are mainly sugar-y mixes ..) the parking is easy and quite close .. no headaches like with other places.. I am used to larger venues like miami where you can get lost .. hah . but this place was not large at all .. mostly a medium size but bought great seats at the very front (2nd row) and the size makes it a much more .. (almost intimate .. ?) setting .. I hav to advise that all of this venue is outdoors so the weather will affect your experience .. but summertime provided beautiful skies and lovely breezes .. just perfect . the layout is gorgeous and the water, fountains, and landscaping make the main Fraze entrance aesthetically pleasing .. saw Little Big Town and liked the lineup more than I thought .. got up close with two performers .. but overall .. even tho its not a mondo-sized superDome, I was impressed because it was more than some other medium-sized locations Iv vern to .. maybe Ohio just takes more pride .. not sure .. for what it is .. its an easy 5 stars .
This was one of the best outdoor venues I have been to. Dayton has a great thing in Fraze Pavilion. We went to see the band OAR on a Tuesday night — we drive up from Cincinnati and were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and appearance of Fraze. Food and beer tents, a beautiful fountain, and best of all, not a bad seat anywhere to watch the show.
We went for the artist and not the venue. Its never been my favorite since they built this place and didnt think people might need a place to park that isnt at a nearby church, school, or side street. They have good weather they have a nice walkable park like setting for a pleasant experience. In the past the seating in the pit area has been fine, and weve seen a handful of shows there. Tonight it was as though theyd tried to cram an extra couple of rows in there, perhaps taking a lesson from a discount airline making it nearly impossible for someone to step out to use the restroom if need be (it was at a minimum tonight, and I didnt personally have to crawl over anyone). Yes, seats sold = revenue, but at the expense of the guest experience Id have to question it. There are nicer venues in the area, so we can all hope our favorite artists book at those.
Wonderful place for outdoor concert or summer festival. Went today for the Kickin Chicken Festival. Had a blast. If you go for a festival bring your own chairs because if you sit in their chairs you have to stay on concrete and may be in sun. If you bring your own chair you can sit in the grass in the shade. No backpacks and no large purses or bags allowed. Purses must be smaller than 12 x 12 and they will look in it. Best choice is to stick with a small crossbody. A definite place to visit for a good concert. Just remember if it is scheduled to rain you may get wet. Enjoy!
Really nice event, but it was super crowded. We were only able to get to one wing spot because it was so hot and the lines were so long at every wing stand. This was the chicken wing festival. I would go again but be prepared to do a lot of waiting and figure out which wing spot u really want to try youll probably only make it through one line. They move fast but still about 30 -60 min wait.
I have attended several events at the fraze. It is a well maintained location. There are always plenty of mostly helpful staff. There are regulations on what you can bring in. Dont bring a lawn chair for lawn seating they wont allow them. Bring a blanket. Large bags are not allowed. Parking is available but might require a short walk through a nice quiet neighborhood. Food is expensive. There are sound regulations in the neighbourhood so concerts have less volume and cant go as late as some places. When I have gone to shows and concerts it has always been top of the line. The cheaper lawn seat are good. Some of the more expensive seating on the sides have worse views. There are food festivals here as well. Always fun.Last visit was to see The Kings of Chaos concert. Sponsored by Cassanos Pizza and WTUE. We picked up free tickets. It had rained and it was very wet. There was a really good opening band. I didnt catch their name but from the crowd response the have quite a local following. Then Cassanos gave away a corvette. Then the Kings hit the stage. Members of Ratt , GnR, Megadeth, Skid Row, John Cougar, Foreigner, and Dee Snider from Twisted Sister. They played all their hits and some outstanding covers. Brought Down The House. Best Fraze show ever.
I’ve been to the Fraze several times. When I’ve gotten tickets for the seats close to the stage I felt cramped. I have a issue with anxiety and any time I’ve sat in those seats I always had to move back to the bleachers if there was a open spot. I will say that the last time I was there the bleachers had backs in them which I appreciated. So if you have a issue with being in tight spots don’t pay the extra for being close just pay for the lawn or the bleachers. The staff was nice and helpful anytimeI’ve been there and I also appreciate the large restrooms that you don’t see a lot at Venus like that.
The Fraze Pavilion is an awesome concert venue. There is not a bad seat in the entire place, including the terrace (bleacher) seats in the back the bleachers in the back do have backs which is nice. Food and beer prices are pretty typical for venues. Most beer in 2021 is canned instead of draught. Concerts sound good and usually have big names and good Friday concert deals for $5. Buy your tickets in person at the Fraze Fan Fare to avoid paying service fees.
Great small venue terrible parking oversale on tickets makes for a very crowded experience and vendor pricing is atrocious. $4 for small bottle water $4 for small red Gatorade with no ice cups just whats in the bottle and they take the lids . Just saying the middle of summer its easy to get dehydrated unless you want to spend a small fortune. Inexpensive generic bottle water should not be the same price as soda or Gatorade and tap water should be offered for free . No re-entry no restrooms 50/50 rude / pleasant staff . Unless its someone your a really big fan of and dont mind close contact while paying out big stadium pricing you can just skip it.
First time concert goer at Fraze... had 8th row tickets, and due to stage being only a few feet above the ground, it was really hard to see the artists perform because the audience blocked the view. Seats and rows were so close together, literally could not move, and it was uncomfortable. Id recommend getting a seat in the second sections from stage which are staggered in elevation.
I have to say Ive been to hundreds of concerts in my life but when I went and seen Shinedown the other night at this place it was the greatest place Ive ever seen a concert what a wonderful place what a beautiful place and I just want to thank you for having that place It was wonderful I would always go see a concert there what a wonderful place I had a great time I had a wonderful time It was awesome
Incredible venue! Not a bad seat in the house! All of the workers and staff are very friendly and helpful. As a musician, the technical staff there are absolutely incredible and sooooo very easy to work with! Other pavilions may pop up here and there, but this one has always been right on the money! Awesome job, Fraze!
Really fun! It plays music and its all lit up at Christmas time! :) Im going to move around this place soon. If you are looking to do the same, beware that you may be able to hear music late. They have a nice walking place tho. My mom works over here so we also got some snacks. Come here! Maybe well meet!
Hands down my favorite venue for concerts!Large enough to attract big name performers, yet small enough that every seat has a good view and not that far away. The grounds are beautiful and make you feel like you’re in the little cozy place. They had three FREE concerts for their 25th Anniversary just to give back!Grand Funk were one of the free performances we seen. You must check this place out! You will be back! Easy access before and after. It always brings a smile to my face every time I visit!
I have have gone to this place before and it was a nice friendly environment. Yes they had the typical restrictions (no umbrellas, strollers, cools, no outside food/drink, weapons). Which I am fine with. But now they are like the military Hawking you down. There is new bad restrictions that are ridiculous. I have a diaper bag for my kids and three people had to check it to verify there was diapers in it and they had to put a band around it. They are passing around their clear bags for 5 dollars. I believe they should be free to ticket holders. And they are about the same size as my bag. I even measured it when we left. We bought a 6 pack of unopened water they said since you have 4 people you have to take 2 out. Probably so we have to buy their expensive water bottles and their outrageous food. But the band Disco Inferno was amazing and hippie cool!!!
The Fraze is a beautiful outdoor venue with plenty of seating, stadium, bleachers, and lawn. Parking availability may be an issue, depending on your ability to walk. Although the staff accomodate handicap patrons as much as possible, there is no parking specifically for wheelchair vans. There is easy access to the pavilion by folks who have physical difficulties.A previous review posted comparing the security folks to the SS. Really?!? I dont know what issue the reviewer may have had with a security staff member, but if a patron follows the rules, I cannot imagine there would be a problem. There is a lot of vendors selling food, drink, and merchandise. Well managed. The restrooms are close to the amphitheater, clean, easily accessible, and in working order.
I had an absolute blast on Tuesday seeing I Love the 90s here! I loved that there were plenty of restroom stalls so I was able to run to the bathroom quickly and get back before I missed a whole song. Its open and comfortable. Drinks were quite high but I guess thats to be expected at all venues these days. I spent $22 on 3 margaritas and a bottle of water. I didnt mind spending a bit more since it was such an awesome place. I definitely plan to return.
Arrived 1/2 hour before opening to ensure good parking and seats, since we had unassigned terrace seats for a Tony Bennett concert. Very handicapped accessible, nice size venue with very nice acoustics. We were the first in line, probably because it had just stopped raining. My mother has poor hearing and eyesight, but she was able to enjoy this. But theyre very serious about the maximum bag size. 12 x 12 x 6 is pretty small, and the bag is what they measure, not what you can squeeze it down to.
This was our first visit to The Fraze and I doubt it will be our last. A wonderful venue for a variety of things and certainly excellent for concerts. Food and drink readily available and reasonably priced for venues such as this one. Two things to be wary of, however. There is no roof over any of the seats so hot sun or rain could be an issue. Secondly, some seats close to the stage have partially obstructed views and are immediately in front of the bands speakers. Prices for those seats are the same as center stage seats, so beware. I wasnt. One other thing; the ushers, ticket-takers, etc. could not have been more friendly or helpful. They were a pleasure to be with.
Great atmosphere, great a acoustics. They have lawn, orchestra and pit seating. The latter two have actual assigned seats. However, none of the seating is covered by an overhang.FYI no purses bigger than 12x12x6 are allowed to be brought into the venue. This became an issue for my date.
Nice small little venue. Reba was great, went with my family. Employees were rude. Wife and I were sitting on a concrete area and were told we must move, and the employee said I know its a great little spot and all but you cannot sit there! Told him we were just waiting for family and he didnt care. Then we go to find our seats and since this venue is tiny there werent any areas to stand in the lawn with our group. So we were on the edge of the grass half on sidewalk half in grass and got yelled at again and told we had to move. Water was $4, yet so was a bottle of Gatorade. Ill probably never come back here. Overall we had a good time at the show and with our relatives but def not my favorite venue.
A great place to see a show. The venue is small enough to provide intimacy to allow you to really enjoy the act, whereas many stadiums and ampitheaters are too large to get that theater feel. This venue is located smack dab in the midst of a residential neighborhood with no on site parking. Street parking and school lots are the best options. You might have to walk a ways if you dont arrive early. Surprisingly traffic after the show drained out pretty quickly.
Outdoor theatre, beautiful place for an open air concert. Seats 4500, with assigned seating, and lawn seating. Really not a bad seat in the place. You cant bring many things inside, but we were able to sneak some bottled water in. Beer, cocktails, food, whatever, sold inside. Real nice place!
Nice small venue with good name talent. Seating is ampitheatre style and my only complaint is its not quite steep enough so if you are behind a taller person views can be challenging. Im 62 and was sitting/standing behind a guy who was probably 64 maybe 65 and I had a hard time seeing and I know the gal behind me had trouble seeing because of my height.
Unfortunately, there were several preventable unpleasantries that occurred. Having limited mobility, there were only certain areas to accommodate me. Concert goers in the lawn area were neither polite nor willing to sit so that I may also enjoy the performance. Despite having called in advance to find out if I could bring a bottle of water and being told I could, this changed 15 minutes later. Smoking rules were not enforced. Fortunately, I do not have issues with strobes as there were plenty of them and no warning published. The park itself is lovely; sadly, my visit was not.
Unorganized and disrespectful. We went to the Diana Ross concert on Saturday. We had lawn tickets. When we entered the venue we were told we could stand anywhere in the lawn area. They said we didn’t have to sit if we didn’t want to. We stood on the concrete right behind the lawn,(just barely off the grass); Security staff told us to move onto the grass, which is fine; however there were other people standing on the concrete all around us that were not asked to move. Then later on in the concert we were asked to sit bc people behind us couldn’t see. Almost Everyone on the lawn was standing and we were the only ones asked to sit. It rained all night and we didn’t want to ruin our clothes; so we opted to stand and moved yet again. This is the first time at a concert venue where I saw that the rules didn’t seem to apply to some people and I felt genuinely disrespected! Fraze Pavilion’s review dropped from a 5 to a 3. I enjoyed the concert, but the security people were rude and chose who they wanted to follow their “rules.”
We recently went there for the tree lighting, light show, and free carriage rides. Lots of fun lights for the kids to look at. However its a tell and long line for got cocoa, we decided to stand in line for the carriages instead. Not worth it. We stood in line for over an hour and then the folks running the show told the lady 50 of us they couldnt get is on in the time they rented the carriages.I have been here for Bacon Fest in the past, they do a great job hosting festivals for a small to mid-sized City.
Last night at a concert my aunt had a medical emergency. She had a very low blood sugar and passed out. The medical staff, security guards and a Dr on site quickly came to help and were very patient and kind to us.I go to the Fraze quite a bit and am always pleased by the way things are ran and how friendly the staff are. Last night they were over the top great! I just wanted to post a review and thank everyone involved for their kindness, and professional handling of a serious medical emergency. Thank you!
Easily the worst place you could go to see a show. How can an outdoor venue have sectional seating? Also, just sitting I have witnessed multiple people kicked out for dancing.. If creating a no fun atmosphere was what they were aiming for I would give them 5/5. It’s an embarrassment to call this a music venue.
Saw Jim Gaffigan live. We had assigned seating, although some seating is general admission in grassy area may require bringing your own seating or blankets, etc.. Quick and efficient security checks. Many gates opened to have smaller and faster lines. It is very clean (including restrooms) and has smiling and helpful staff! Excellent venue!
Beautiful venue. Although the people who work there are a little like drill sergeants. I understand keeping things under control but all the rules and regulations are a bit overboard sometimes. Also, be prepared to miss a large portion of the show waiting in the concession lines. Not Unusual to stand in line for half an hour to 45 minutes. I dont understand why they dont add a few beer trucks. The long lines are frustrating after youve paid good money to see a band.
Something was not operating properly with the sound system we were told, nevertheless the patrons of the nights venue had to stand out in line in the hot Sun on one of the hottest days of the year. Made the crowd a little less responsive to the performers. Crowd began to get a little unruly. It feel that situation could have handled differently
Not the biggest concert venue but every seat is a decent one because of the smaller size. Theres always a series of concerts in the summer with an assortment of music genres, cover bands, and several popular acts. The summer also brings some weekend festivals to the area.
I attended the Kettering Block Party - an annual event for Kettering residents and the surrounding community. The Fraze is a fantastic music venue and park area - beautiful place! Free parking - lovely place to meet friends and go for a walk - sit and enjoy the flowers and fountains!
Beautiful venue and surrounding area, but the staff seemed a little disorganized and inconsistent when it came to giving out information. After waiting in line for 3 hours we were told that all gates wouldnt open at the same time, and ours would most likely open last! This was for a general admission show, so we went early with hopes of a front row seat. As strict and stern as they were with the rules, once we got inside it was a free for all. People were standing in front of seated people, kids were playing in the aisles, and no one was doing anything to stop it the entire night. The only thing I cared for besides the appearance of the place was the acoustics and the artist I went there to see. It is mostly a place to drink, dance, and chat with your neighbors, not a place for serious concert goers who are there to see the show without being distracted.
The only reason I would consider giving the venue more stars is because it truly is a cute place, and its kept very clean. Other than that I have a HUGE complaint:The security policies are absolutely ridiculous and the workers take themselves way too seriously. I travel all over the country and visit LARGE amphitheaters and stadiums for different concerts, and I have never seen people so strict or rude. I completely understand policies like no backpacks and what not, and I understand that these people are just trying to do their job, but come on. My purse with all of its contents in it WERE within the size constraints, but when the security person made me take my poncho out my purse flattened out and went over the 12 constraint by a half inch. So I purchased one of their clear plastic bags for $5 and put my purse into it, and IT FIT! They wouldnt allow it. No matter how much I pleaded they wouldnt let it in, and they made me walk all the way back to my car. Who says you can police what I put in my 12x12x6 clear plastic bag? I wasnt breaking any other policies and I wasnt taking in anything on the prohibited list. Seriously - what am I going to do with a 12.5 inch purse that would cause a security threat?! Please use common sense and be cool. Not to mention - I saw people with zip-up blankets that were WAAAY over 12 inches. Couldnt you call that a purse? How is that even fair???It makes me so sad to give this place a bad review. I love that its so close to home, and I like I mentioned it really is a cute venue. Please consider easing up on your policies and teach your employees to use reasonable judgement.
Great music and fun, but the some of the staffing has issues. Security team is a bit unhappy and quite unfriendly. Regularly angry at patrons that dont have pre-knowledge of the process. The concession stand staff seem to struggle as well. Maybe through no fault of their own. I.E. I ordered 2 glasses of wine and they refused to put them together in one larger glass for easier handling, because management counts plastic cups.
Some basic rules are obviously understandable but this place revels in irritating their patrons. An outdoor venue shouldnt charge $4 for something as basic as water, especially when its 90 degrees. They oversell the lawn area and then expect patrons to fold themselves up like pretzels to accommodate more people. The front seating area in front of the stage cant accommodate anyone other than pretty slim people. I sat there once and the person next to me was half into my seat-not what I expected for paying over $90. Apparently drawstring bags also arent permitted, even if they adhere to their size restrictions. You have to walk all the way back to your car if you accidentally bring a forbidden object. They come by their moniker of Fraze Nazis for a reason. On the positive side, the sound is usually top-notch and its a beautiful facility.
Always the best experience going tothis music venue! The volunteers are always very warm and welcoming upon arrival.Upon exiting tey are there to thank you for coming, and wishing a good nite to all.The venue is in a park setting with meticulously kept grounds.Parking is easy, ticket prices are fair.THIS OFFERING IS A WIN-WIN SITUATION IN MY BOOK.IVE BEEN COMING FOR A GOOD 10 YRS!
Had to evacuate during the 3rd song and Graze Pavilion refuses to give any kind of recompense I was there to see Brian Culbertson and he got to play 2 full songs and was starting the third when they evacuated everyone. They say because we saw the opening show and 2 1/2 songs we had what we paid for.. absolutely not..I understand evacuating but some kind of refund or tickets to another show would have been good. Even Tecumseh when it got rained out gave tickets to another show..and we saw about a half hour of that.
Security takes too long to get in, and beer is too expensive, but the venue is great, and if you are at a show with an older crowd, you can actually stay seated on the lawn instead and enjoy instead of having to stand for an hour to see what you can hear just fine sitting.
The concert was rained out on Sunday. We went to see Brian Culbertson and he played 2 songs and half of a third one and it started storming. They made everyone evacuate and they didn’t offer to compensate for the money we paid for the concert. They said the first band played and a couple of songs for the second band and no compensation. We didn’t arrive until right before the second band went on because we had no interest in seeing a band from the 80’s. I won’t be going back to The Fraze again. At the bare minimum they could have offered to give you tickets for another concert. Just left a bad impression with the way management handled the whole thing.
This is a very nice venue. The workers sometimes seems a bit crabby almost yelling at you for having something that you didnt know that you were suppose to have. Instead of just saying, we cannot have that inside here you have to take it back to you car. Thank you Courtesy is not their best manners. Just a reminder you can never have an umbrella or a backpack in there while an event is going on there!
We were at a concert this past summer and the guy running the stage lights got mad when I whistled. I was dumbfounded when he told me I couldnt whistle. At a concert. Outdoors. I have seen several great bands here but the people in general are rude and not very friendly. I had my Michael Kors purse with me and lady at the gate said I couldnt bring it in. We were not parked close at all. The lady said to walk back and put it in my vehicle or I could stuff it under a bush. Needless to say, I will not go back. Ever.
Fraze Pavillion is an event venue that has an ampitheater and an adjacent landscaped area. Most events such as concerts are performed in the ampitheater with access to restrooms and a concession area. The nicer seats, plaza and orchestra, are near the stage. The lawn seating is behind the orchestra and the terrace seats, a large metal bench structure is behind the lawn. You can bring blankets and rent padded seats for the lawn. You can bring blankets and cushions for the terrace. For the big name acts the sound is usually very good, especially when the Dayton Philharmonic has accompanied the performer. For the lesser known acts, the sound can be too loud and shrill so bringing some earplugs can help. You may want to bring a poncho in case of rain. The festivals do not use the ampitheater, the bands set up somewhere around the fountains. For these events, lawn chairs are allowed and it is a good idea to bring them if the festival is crowded. The sound quality for those vary widely, so again being some earplugs are a good idea. Frazes main problem is the potential for long lines. For a big name concert act, the wait to pass through security can be 30 minutes or more. This year (2019) each person is subjected to a metal detector, then their ticket is scanned, and then a wristband is put on your arm. Most festivals have the same procedure. The worst unresolved problem are extremely long lines for the concessions. It is not always a problem (e.g. Franki Valli), but for the performers who a attract a younger or rowdier audience (e.g. Get the Led Out), it is always a problem. You can wait an hour for a warm foil wrapped sandwich and a ten dollar beer. Plan to miss part of the show. And it seems to be getting worse each year. The festivals can be very crowded, but I have noticed that those in later summer are less crowded. Most festivals labelled as Free Festival also have the security entrances and the staff is quite vigilant. My wife and I attended the Festival of the Vine this year. It was one of the free festivals and poorly attended. There were no lines or crowds when we were there in the afternoon. As we were folding up our lawn chairs preparing to leave, a staff member accosted us and accused us of sneaking in. The absurdity of this was beyond measure (the festival was free, there were no lines or crowds, our arm-bands plainly visible). We remained calm and told her that we have armbands and pointed to them attached to our arms. She abruptly left. I feel fortunate that it did not escalate into a law enforcement response against us. A very enjoyable event is Art on the Commons where local artists display their work for sale amid a backdrop of music and refreshments. And best of all, there is no security perimeter and very few Fraze staffers. So you can just walk in and walk out like an adult and enjoy yourself without being harassed.
Fraze has always been amazing But when you charge regular price for a 16 month old that’s when I have to say something. I don’t know of a place that charges for any kid under two to get in. Not cool fraze. The staff was super amazing and very friendly though!! Props to them!!

2022-06-20Front row seats to see Travis Tritt and the Desert City Ramblers. Fantastic. The seating is tight in the front rows...the padded chairs are hooked together so no moving them apart. The workers do a very good job of assisting with finding seats, keeping isles clear, etc. We would go there again.

2022-06-30Excellent concert venue!! Even the seats on the far left or right behind the pillar still have a great view. Lawn seats are where it’s at though, cheapness is rewarded at this venue!

2022-06-17Prefect little venue in the middle of Kettering. This year brings some big acts! This place is my home away from home. Even when there isnt an act the Fraze is a great place to walk around.

2021-07-24Nice atmosphere, affordable food choices with very good portions, safe and secure venue with friendly and helpful staff. Acoustics were perfect but lighting was sometimes washing out the performers.

2022-06-03Really great venue. Very scenic good beverages available. However, you are unable to bring your own chair if you have a lawn seat (!). The reason is that they want to rent you one for 20 bucks. Surprised they didnt try to rent me a blanket instead of allow me to bring one. I dont believe that this poses a security risk, because you could bring a blanket, and security was minimal. Still, very good experience, very good venue.

2022-06-14Great venue! We saw Kenny Wayne Shepherd on a Sunday and will definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for other acts we like.Well laid out – there really isn’t a bad seat. We had 8th row seats but, in retrospect, we’d have been perfectly happy and had a great view 10 rows further back. Even the lawn is pretty good owing to the relatively small size of the amphitheater overall. We got there a few minutes after the first of two opening acts had started and ended up parking at the nearby high school as instructed by one of the traffic/parking people. Pretty short walk and no cost! Nice easy exit to Rt. 48 afterward.Good craft beer selection – not wildly overpriced like some venues. We didn’t patronize the food & domestic beer concession (Ernie’s?) but it looked steadily busy. Plenty of bathroom capacity and fairly clean in spite of heavy usage. There was lots of rain earlier in the day, so we watch many folks sit on the lawn and get butt soakers. Note the lawn is real, not turf like some other similar venues. Recommend you bring plastic or a blanket or a stadium chair for the lawn. Nice touch that you can rent big, padded ground chairs on site – I think they were $12.

2022-03-24The Fraze Pavilion is the best outdoor concert venue! When not attending shows we love to walk the beautiful, manicured park. The Fraze Pavilion is one on the beautiful parks to drive or walk at Christmas time!
