Fox and Hounds Apartments in other cities:
I love my apartment and feel at home here at Fox and Hounds. It is truly a community. Jen is extremely professional and takes interest in the tenants. Mike the leasing agent helped me in a situation with my rent payment. He remained very calm, patient, and attentive. I truly appreciate his help! Jenny
There are not enough words to explain the service and to be honest, friendship that I have experienced from the management at Fox & Hounds. They have gone above and beyond to work with me and help me in every way they can. I have lived in many apartment communities and to be afforded this kind of professionalism and courtesy is unheard of. I would recommend this community anytime and to anyone who is looking for a staff and management team that cares about their renters. A personal thank you to Heather for her kindness and professionalism; she is a treasure to be had for sure.
I am currently in search of a apartment for rent in this area. As I drove around the property to take a look you see stacked up dirty mattresses near the dumpsters which instantly is a turn off along with other miscellaneous furniture just sitting out. The grass is pretty overgrown in most areas and it doesn’t look as if there has been much landscape done or at least not well maintained. After reading the reviews about people having issues with bugs and seeing those mattresses stacked up it makes me not even want to inquire about living there. Appearance is what sells and maybe if I had caught it on a better day I would have potentially looked into the place as the picture online look very nice.
I lived at Fox & Hound for a year and had a great experience. The staff in the office were very helpful and friendly. I had few issues with the apartment and maintenance came out and addressed the issues I did have. They opened the pool with safety restrictions last summer during Covid and it was so nice, my boyfriend and I really enjoyed being able to enjoy sunny days while social distancing from others. The apartments have really nice updated kitchens, great for cooking. Bedrooms and closets are spacious. Overall the location felt safe and never had a car break-in or concern compared to Short North area. The location is also really convenient and close to Bethel, Sawmill, and Henderson for easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, et cetera. Highly recommend!
5-Star Update - Ive waited to see how the recent shift in management would shake out and am happy to report a return to form for Fox and Hounds. All of the pros I laid out in my older comments hold firm about and now the new management has made further renovations to the dog park, basketball courts, and the club house. All of the leasing staff are great and always go the extra step to address any issue or question. As a 3 yr resident at Fox and Hounds, I havent personally experienced a drastic change in my living situation since the recent change in management that many others have either praised or heavily critiqued. All of the same perks of this apartment complex have remained intact: it is a comfortable distance from the university, but is on COTA route 18, it features an excellent dog park and is very pet friendly, the complex is safe, clean, and well maintained, and all of my neighbors are friendly and courteous. The renovations that many other reviews have described have been underway since the beginning of summer and look to be continuing on into winter. There have been some complaints in other reviews about noise and about the construction crews, but again I havent personally experienced these issues. Our apartment was renovated not long ago and we are very happy with the newly designed apartment. The kitchen appliances in particular were in drastic need of an upgrade and I love our new oven/stove. Im a bit of a cook and the new oven and stove top are clean, well-made, and look great. The new management staff is friendly and Ive only had positive interactions with them. Overall, its proven to be a comfortable place to live and has remained that way so far.
Absolutely ridiculous that when paying for rent we are suppose to have a bundle deal with water and gas included yet they still are charging people for the bundle and the price it would be if you paid based off your usage. I have to call every single month for the past 6 months to get it taken off so I don’t get double charged. Every month they promise they will get it taken care of and never do. Sad part is, I’m sure there are people who are just paying both and not even realizing it. Absolutely ridiculous.
You live here for the price, but I think there are better value options near by. We have roaches and lamp post fell outside my window and started sparking for months until it was replaced. The pool was nice, but that hot tub is nasty when it even works. Our apt ceiling was cracked in the middle and basically collapsing. But the kitchen did look nice i guess.
So far, so good. I’ll try to provide an accurate account of my time here as a lot of reviews can dissuade you from missing out on a decent community. As with most communities there are inconveniences that arise. Sometimes due to other residents or outside residents, as someone else attested to on Yelp. It is not uncommon to see non-residents in the pool area and especially the dog park, naturally, it’s a little frustrating to see non-paying folks using amenities that F&H residents pay for, but I imagine this is a little difficult to enforce.Moved to F&H in AU 19 and I’m coming to the end of my 2nd lease and moving into a third(different unit). The move in process and application was fairly smooth. The walls are thin, this is true but isn’t too overbearing if your neighbors are respectful. Communities seems to be mostly working working professionals, small families(I rarely see young kids), and university students. Night owls and heavy steppers can make for a bad time but mostly okay. Not a huge issue with heating and cooling on the bottom floor and not much maintenance issues in my unit besides normal wear and tear. Maintenance is pretty decent and took proper precautions during pandemic, turn around time for low priority stuff is about a week. The utility switch from flat rate to sub-metering(gas, water, sewage)is a negative and the transition was not smooth but you’ll save a few bucks with proper usage.Mail access is decent, never had a package stolen from my front door, the property advertised package handling but never used.Parking is a free-for-all but can always find a close parking spot and there’s an overspill lot.Great access to bus lines, that run to OSU(15-20 minute ride), nearby grocery stores and to downtown Columbus. Walking distance to a vet, pharmacy and dentist if that’s your jam. They offer lower cost storage than the nearby storage company, also walking distance. Gym/clubhouse is key guarded(haven’t used either since pandemic started) and they’re both clean and efficient(last time I was in the gym the dumbbells were a little sketch .Chief complaints: the company doesn’t utilize electronic communication enough and relies on paper notes taped to the door to communicate important information, not great for people who travel for work or who may be away from home. Not a lot of enforcement for dog poop around the community, even though they provide doggie bags stations over the complex. It’s not uncommon to see dog poop everywhere.TL;DR: good place is you’re not a person who needs to lavish in luxuries like torches at the front gate, or a Starbucks coffee center in the clubhouse. Great access to bus lines and living essentials. Units have thin walls but isn’t unbearable with decent neighbors. Amenities are okay could use updating(heard they’re doing it). Units are obviously a little older with some reno done but the updated units are so good. Staff is good, no complaints yet. Will update review this after we switch units/ move out as needed.
I absolutely love living at Fox and Hounds!! Not only are the apartments beautiful, but the amenities like the pool, gym, computer lab, and movie theater are spectacular. The office staff is beyond friendly and made the entire moving process smooth and easy, and the maintenance staff has been the fastest to respond of any apartment community I have lived in before. I am so excited to call this place my home!
Have loved the apartment since we have moved here. However, two months into my lease I received a phone call from a female staff member while on vacation telling us that our apartment smells like smoke. We haven’t been home in 6 days so this makes no sense. Did they call my surrounding neighbors with this accusation too? This is not the first time this particular staff member has been rude, but the rest of the staff, especially Al, have been very considerate and easy to work with. Overall great experience besides these few interactions. Clean, updated and homey.
We have been living in this apartment for two years now and the experience has been nothing but excellent. The new Staff are friendly and responsive. The renovation looks very modern. The living room, kitchen and dining room is very spacious. The bedroom windows allow in a good amount of natural light and the bathrooms now have big mirrors and enough closet space. Overall Fox and Hounds seems less of an apartment to us and more of a home. The newly renovated clubhouse is packed with entertainment! Also every now and then the management hosts awesome parties for the tenants. The management takes their reputation very seriously and does a good job at keeping the tenants happy. The location is especially great for Ohio State students like me and my sister. Its a 10 minute drive and about 17 minute free COTA bus ride to campus. The bus stop is right outside the apartment complex which is very convenient. Id recommend it to anyone looking for a excellent apartment at a decent price in a good location.
I absolutely love our newly renovated apartment!!!! It is hands down the nicest apartment myself & my boyfriend have ever shared. The kitchen is gorgeous & the hardwood floors are beautiful. The office staff is always super helpful & friendly. Plus we have a dog and having a dog park in the complex is a huge plus. We have lived here for almost 2 years and were able to transfer to one of the newly renovated units & the office staff made the transition a very smooth & exciting process. We love it here ! Especially our new kitchen!
We love our newly renovated apartment! The new appliances, flooring, counter-tops, and cabinets have dramatically changed the appearance of the apartments. The new floor plan makes the apartment feel much bigger and brighter than what it used to be. Our new community manager has really turned things around since she started and works with the office staff to come up with a solution to any problem! The maintenance workers are also always very quick to come and fix whatever issue, and are always very friendly.
Pros--Overall the interior of the apartment is updated and high quality-Nice area of town with everything you need in close proximity.-Close drive/Uber to campus-Very clean when moved into the unitCons:-Put in multiple requests and phone calls to fix air conditioning. Luckily it was at the end of the lease so we didn’t have to live in the 90 degree heat for too many days.- Downstairs apartment was rented as an AirBnb and had loud tenants. Loud parties were thrown during the weekday and weekend.- Neighbors would smoke in their apartments and the smell of smoke would linger into our apartment
Units are okay but they try to pressure you into signing the lease before viewing the apartment. If you’re lucky enough to view before signing I urge you to take a closer look at the walls and outlets and such and don’t get distracted by the shiny appliances. We also had a first floor unit originally that developed mold a month after living there. The maintenance guy said the issue was that the rain was accumulating by the window because of the gutter even though the gutter wasn’t near the spot so they clearly had a foundation leak. They fixed this problem by spraying mold killer and that’s it. A week later the whole unit flooded from a storm which isn’t their fault except they had no one on site to help the people that lost their homes. When they showed up the next day at noon Al told me to rent a hotel room for the next couple days because they wouldn’t have a unit available til then so I did. A few hours later I call the office and they say they won’t be paying for the hotel because they magically found a unit that I could move into that day. I saw a paper on their desk saying the previous tenant moved out the day before. So I lost a couple hundred dollars through the hotel reservation but they didn’t care because they just filled a new unit. This didn’t happen to just me but everyone that was affected by the flood which I know were at least four other units. They need to quit renovating the apartments and renovate management. I recommend looking elsewhere because it’s not worth the headache.
I was searching for Apartments to live in for a few months until my lease was up. Decided on Fox and Hounds and I couldnt be happier. So conveniently located, close to work and anything else you could want. Updated appliances, nice, clean look. Al Harvey has been the man to talk too. Hes really kind and personable, see him if you need anything. All of the staff have been a pleasure. No complaints from me!
Terrible customer service. My brother and I tried applying for a lease takeover at this apartment. The office staff told us that our applications looked great (we both have great credit, rental history, and more then 3x rental income). It took 3 weeks for them to get back to us on the status of our applications and that was only AFTER I called twice. Finally they sent me an email to begin setting up our utilities and internet. I assumed that meant our applications were approved and began the process of transferring. A few days after receiving that email, my brother and I both received an email saying our applications were denied. Confused, I called in to see why our applications were denied. I spoke with the assistant manager and she couldn’t even give me the reason why our applications were denied. She said it was “confidential” information even though the office staff had to type in all of the information on our applications. She offered no help in figuring this situation out and showed no compassion at all. I should also note that this all happened AFTER the took the application fees and “reservation” fees from the woman we were trying to sublet from. These people are money hungry and DO NOT care about customer service. I’m baffled at the lack of care that came with this process. They wasted nearly a month of my time and resources and couldn’t even apologize for it. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.
Despite a rocky renovation process and a few weeks of back-and-forth to get some issues corrected, living here hasnt been completely horrible. After reading a lot of my neighbors reviews, our renovation process seems like a piece of cake compared to theirs. Yes, we definitely had issues with loud workers and sloppy mistakes, but since then, the management has worked with us to finally get everything corrected. With the renovation completed, our favorite room is our living room, and we love the new gray paint color they chose for the walls! We have had several maintenance issues (flooded bathtub and malfunctioning furnace) but the call center is very responsive and there is always a maintenance guy here within a few hours. The apartments are definitely overpriced, especially since they were built in the 1970s and they are almost 10 miles from downtown, but it is a safe area with easy access to the highway and many shops and restaurants.
Ive recently moved into Fox and Hound, and I couldnt be happier with my experience. My last residence left much to be desired. All of the staff are professional and charismatic, especially Al made the whole process as stress free as it could be. Ive looked around for a couple months and this is the place I chose to spend my money. The location is close to everything, so I go to new places every weekend if I wanted to. All of the amenities such as the on-site gym and pool are very well maintained. I would recommend this place to anyone who was looking for an apartment in the area.
Update - The last year of living here has been terrible. Just the worst. I don’t know why, but the front office staff was not helpful at all when we had serious issues with our upstairs neighbors. I take back my previous recommendation and do not suggest that anyone consider moving here.—We moved into a newly-renovated apartment 2 years ago and have been extremely happy with this apartment complex. Not only are the apartments super nice (brand-new appliances, washer/dryer, flooring) and on the bus route to OSU, but the staff is very friendly and caring. Anything we needed, Al has made it happen. One time our pets medicine ended up at the wrong apartment and Al talked to the mail carrier and got it for us the next day! As graduate students, we also love the clubhouse and use it to exercise as well as study and write. I would highly recommend Fox and Hounds to anyone looking for a great place to live.
Fox and Hounds is quickly becoming one of the best places to live in this area. I will admit that at first, I wasnt the happiest person around. However, the management team, and especially the front office team, including Al and Jen, have stepped up big time. Every issue I have had has been taken care of in 24 hours. They have so many resident events and appreciation offers ..Ive lost count. They are extremely pet friendly..and in the 2 BR units, I have yet to find a kitchen I like better. Theyve been sinking dollar after dollar into making this complex more and more desirable. After the last few months of only great experiences, I am confident that this is and will be a great place to live.
I am so excited to move here in May! When I took the tour I instantly felt at home! I was shown a unit specifically for dogs it was even decorated with dog stuff. As a groomer dogs are my entire life and finding a location so dog friendly was very important to me! My friend Taylor hooked me up with Al Harvey’s contact info. Al Harvey is an all around amazing guy to work with! He is so welcoming and found me the right place that fits my budget! I love him & The Fox and Hound Community!
Living here has not been the experience I had hoped for. My apartment required a radon mitigation system to be installed while I was not home, leaving a large pipe running through my bedroom. Communication from management about that topic was not great, and they would not disclose the levels of radon that they found within the apartment. It was also discovered that I did not have an air filter in my apartment after living there for more than a year, so they just bent an oversized one and stuck it in my air system. I also had the hot water tank in the unit above me break open, resulting in water plummeting from my ceiling into my apartment. The storage rack in my closet fell- breaking my furniture beneath it. My ceiling ALSO caved in from water damage, and needed to be partially replaced. The apartment floods when it rains, attracting bugs. Not what I expected when I moved in.
If you are old like myself please do not move here. I live with my son but he is very young and can get around just fine but not me. The snow in the winter time is only shoveled to your door. They could careless of the sheet of ice in the parking lot (unsalted). Even going to the mailbox takes me a good 30 minutes poor mailman has to work with nothing but ice on the ground.
Myself and two others lived at Fox and Hounds from 2018-2019. The majority of the year there was fine, serviceable but nothing special. Though partway through our time there the apartment complex was sold, and new owners took over. After this maintenance especially became near impossible to get done, often we waited weeks to even hear back on issues, calling back multiple times. But none of that is why I am writing this review. I am writing this review because of what it was like to move out of Fox and Hounds. Almost two months after we moved out, they send us an exorbitant move out bill totally nearly $500 for replacing all the carpet, including carpet in a room that never had a pet in it, and had no damage, something they dont contest. They insist that they had to do so to keep them all the same, but yet in the same conversation they admitted by accident when they mistook me for someone else that another tenant has an outstanding bill for barely $200 for replacing only some of the carpet, thereby proving they only replaced all the carpet because they knew they could get away with charging us for it.But the bill and the carpet arent the biggest issue. The BIGGEST issue is that they send us the letter, with no mention in the letter of how to pay the bill. Our login doesnt work anymore to the tenant portal. We call, no one answers. We leave messages, no one calls us back. We send emails, we send messages via the mechanism on their website and no one ever responds to us. We swing by the office multiple times and no one is ever there in the middle of the day.Fast forward months to now, were getting harassed by debt collectors (which is now dinging our credit, during an economic recession and pandemic where were partially on unemployment mind you) and so I have had enough. I am usually very patient and level headed, but I swing by and finally someone is there! We have a long conversation where I outline all of this. They ignore and dont respond to my comments that they never gave information in the letter on how to pay, they blame the phone issues on technological issues on my end, insisting they are always there. Now I understand its no one persons fault and am/was careful to make it clear I blame no one particular person in their office. Hence the review, because the issue is clearly systemic with how they handle their business. So if youre seriously considering Fox and Hounds because of the newer kitchens, the islands, the carpet? And theyre offering it all with no deposit or down payment? Consider how those things get paid for, and what theyll charge you when you move out. We were fairly meticulous with cleaning our carpet, with scrubbing down things immediately and never letting stains set- but even I can admit that sure, maybe one room needed new carpet. But ripping everything out and charging us $500 for all the carpet, even carpet that never had a single stain because the pets were never even in the room. I would encourage people to read this, understand its not coming from an emotional place, but a place of cool logic and consider looking elsewhere. There are well priced duplexes in the Columbus area nearby for less a month that are rented out by individuals, not organizations who wont answer the phone. Fox and Hounds will gaslight you, ignore you, and blame you for their indifference.Another example of the need for rent control and renter protections. If youve reached the end of this review, thank you and have a nice day.
Be very careful signing a lease with this place. Water, gas and sewage utilities used to be included in the rent as a flat fee. They changed this in the middle of our lease to start metering through a company called YES Utility Billing, and we were not given any option to opt out of this change.Edit: Around 6 months after this change, I was informed that we would be allowed to switch back to the original utility billing.
Ive been living at Fox and Hounds for two years and have largely enjoyed my stay at the Apartment Complex. They are very pet friendly, and after recent renovations have very nice amenities. The complex is in a good location, is safe, and the people here are friendly.Rent is expensive (the area itself is for the most part), and my interactions with management have all been well received. Construction is currently overwhelming, but after its completion I can see the neighborhood being very nice.
Ive lived at Fox and Hounds for the past year- unfortunately we cannot renew as my roommate decided to move states. However, I cant say I have any complaints. The apartments were well-maintained, affordable, and quiet (we did have an upper unit). Snow removal in the winter was sufficient- the office staff was incredibly friendly and always willing to help with whatever issues you had. The pool facilities were great and the clubhouse was always clean. They do an excellent job maintaining the grounds- no pet waste, cigarette butts, trash, or debris. The laundromats do get a little dirty, but that would probably be my only suggestion for improvement. I would not hesitate to live here again.
Beautiful renovations to the apartment but its simply not worth the hassle. The management and leasing office is poorly staffed and have extremely poor customer service. Every step of the way from paying $200 in admin fees to reserve the apartment (that was given away to another person who came in the day before my move in, who just HAD to have an apartment facing the pool, as if I didnt) I had to constantly call to make sure the proper steps were being taken. They never ran my credit (which is a great score might I add) and assumed my credit history was poor and informed me that I was required to pay a full months rent deposit. They also failed to contact my previous rental addresses in a timely manner and on move in day (which is also the day I signed my lease) they informed me well after 7pm that in order to receive my keys (again, this is move in day at 7pm) I would have to get renters insurance and have the electrical placed in my name. All of which could have been done prior to my arrival move in day HAD I BEEN INFORMED. To make matters worse, my move in package says apartment 1022, so of course I get the renters insurance and electrical for apt 1022, ONLY TO BE GIVEN THE KEYS TO APARTMENT 1122. Thank god I have a friend who lives on the property (and is moving out) who informed me that I had to go to the post office nearby in order to pick up my mailbox key, because I would have never received anything given the fact that the office also failed to mention this. Just pick a different property. Its not worth it. Especially the outrageously priced utility bundle.
This is a great community. There was a horrible paint job ( didnt paint the full walls and paint on floor Cabinets and fan.) There was scratches and dents in my fridge when I moved in. Extremely loud fan in bathroom. Other than that this is a great place. Its close to train tracks but not many go by. I thought gym theater and game room where open anytime but only 9am-6pm everyday. Glad Im here andLooking forward to having a great year.
Office staff is condescending, unhelpful, and completely incompetent at times. Apartments are super average and not really worth the price. The ownership has changed at least twice just in the year we’ve lived here- they didn’t actually tell us, had to find out online.Dog park is great but the entry gate is so broken that most people can’t even use it. There were no dog poo bags in the dispenser for almost 3 months at a time- do you realize how easy it would be for them to add more dog poo bags after I (and other pet owning tenants) asked them a hundred times?Maintenance takes AT LEAST six weeks to fix ANYTHING.If you don’t pay rent online, it isn’t taken out of your account until the next months (which is super frustrating while trying to budget).Had to send in our pay stubs three times when we first applied because they kept losing them.We had no A/C for two full months in the middle of summer and they didn’t do anything about it even though I called/emailed/talked to them more than once a week until it was finally fixed. The doors are literally falling off their hinges- I can barely shut my bedroom door- because they are so low quality. The walls are so thin that my friend leaned on one once and his hand alone broke through the wall (but I’m sure that’s coming out of my deposit). The dishwasher doesn’t clean anything and when we call maintenance about it, they just wipe it down and say it’s fixed.Several cars around our building were broken into- which is not technically the complex’s fault but they could at least fix the street lamps. They decided to install washer/dryer units in our apartment and won’t wait a single week so that we can move out first (even though we were supposed to already have the hookups when we moved in but they mixed up the apartments). The on-site laundry center in our building stopped working two months before the w/d units were installed in our building. The w/d renovations haven’t started yet but I’m sure something will go wrong... stay tuned to find out! ;)
**Update**Ive lived here for about a year now, and I still really like living here. Maintenance is great, fast, and friendly. The staff are very friendly and have always been helpful. The new management company has definitely been making some major improvements for the better while keeping rent reasonable. This is perfect for young adults who dont want the craziness of the OC, but still want to live close and have great amenities! Plus, dogs are allowed so what else could you ask for?!The staff and maintenance crew are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great and is perfect for people with dogs. There is a monthly resident night as well as occasional dog days. Overall, great place to live!
There is an extreme amount of construction going on to renovate these apartments. The process was lengthy and the people at the front desk are completely unsympathetic to any plights this process has presented to the residents. When the renovations started, management decided that they would not help to move residents into the newly renovated apartments. Instead these apartments were reserved for new residents. This would have been fine if there were any new residents who were renting the apartments. Management then decided that they would allow residents to escape the renovation process by offering the new apartments if the resident signed a new contract at an increased price. I decided not to pay more than the $100 increase in rent they made me pay beginning in July (even though renovations did not start until October) so I did not take their offer. The renovations took 2 weeks to finish in my apartment. Management did not offer any compensation for this. I had to go to the office to even get them to finish the renovations (they still arent completely done and its been almost a month). My old fridge was not taken out of the apartment, there were no handles on my cabinets, my dishwasher wasnt hooked up right, they didnt (and still havent) painted the new wall they installed in my bedroom, most of my lights didnt work, they cut the main line to my internet, the movers broke my antique dresser, and someone misplaced my antique chair (I still have no idea what happened to it). I went to the office multiple times to get these issues corrected and all I received was lip service.I have been a great tenant and have never asked them for anything besides to fix the mold in my bathroom (they did a patch job but never looked into the walls as I had asked. you can still see the mold on the wall.) I pay my rent on time every month and have had no complaints by either tenant or landlord. All I have asked for was to be treated with decency and to be able to live in my apartment. I do not feel like these base desires have even been met. The office staff does not care and they wont do anything to help you out. Management is greedy and has way overpriced (and overcharged) the apartments. I did not complain through any of this process (even though I had someone walk into my apartment without announcing themselves multiple times) but I have finally hit my limit. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone. The area is great, the dog park isnt very dog friendly but they have dog bags everywhere on the premises, and the community is pet friendly.
Now that they feel the need to pay residents to leave reviews and post pictures, Ill leave a helpful review with some of my favorite pictures. Hopefully this will help people understand a truthful and unpaid opinion. One of my favorite pictures is of the flyer I had taped to my door at the beginning of October, $100 dollars off of your rent if you post a picture of your favorite room and a review on google. Theyll choose a winner on October 31st to receive free rent for the month of November. Such a good idea to get a quick boost on your google review ratings. Id rather pay my $1084 rent for the month of November and share my honest experience. Before I go into the delightful renovation, Ill go ahead and tell you that I wasnt even allowed to move into my apartment until 12 days after my lease began. I wasnt told this until 2 days before my move. I already had my intent to vacate turned in for my previous apartment, as well as a truck and movers booked for my move. I had everything I own sitting on a truck for over a week since I had to be out of my old apartment and couldnt get into my new one. On top of that, I had to pay to rent that truck for the entire week instead of just for one day. Of course Fox and Hounds claimed no responsibility for any of it and didnt compensate me at all. I was told the renovation process was four days for an occupied apartment. Mine was empty and I had to wait eleven days to move into the disaster I walked into. These pictures are both how it looked when I moved into my gorgeous newly renovated apartment as well as how it looks now, four months after moving in. So lets talk about how awesome theyve done on these renovations. Whoever they hired to paint was clearly trying to get it done in as little time as possible. No fixtures or outlet covers were taken off before painting so theres paint all over the fixtures, especially in my bathroom. It turns out that they were suppose to replace all of the outlet covers but since my old covers werent removed before painting and the new covers are smaller than the old, paint touch up was needed around every outlet and light switch. Easy fix right? Not so much, they apparently didnt have the color of paint they used on my walls anymore so as you can see I get to look at the lovely touch ups that you can see in the picture, every day.As you can also see in my pictures, the entire apartment was filthy when I moved in. There was dirt and paint all over the laminate flooring in the dining room and kitchen. Cabinets were filthy and had paint all over them as well. None of the back splash was wiped down after they finished caulking it. My island had Chipotle trash all over it from someones lunch they enjoyed instead of finishing my apartment. Three weeks after my move in someone called and asked if I wanted them to send someone to clean my apartment. Did they really think I was going to unpack and live in an apartment for three weeks without cleaning it first? Also, dont pull on the blinds too hard, they will fall on your head.Half of the issues I started off with still havent been fixed because Ive completely given up on expecting anything from this office staff. Im sure its stressful dealing with these renovations but the residents here are at the absolute bottom of their priority list. So many units are empty that all they care about is getting people in here to put money in their pockets. They will promise you the world when youre a potential tenant but they will completely ignore your needs after you move in. Their clubhouse got renovated before 90% of the apartments did and it looks 90% better than all of the apartments as well.Im not the type of person that judges a lot about a business based on reviews because I know people usually post reviews when theyre mad and dont always when their experience is good. They might when something is exceptional or when theyre getting paid or saving money on rent to do it. Trust the honest reviews you see here and just dont even roll the dice on this place. It isnt worth it.
Was so excited to move into my first off campus home- now I almost wish I was still living on campus. Ive had maintenance men walk into my apartment accidentally more than once. I understand the process of renovation is not going to be all sunshine and rainbows, but for goodness sake, give the people who have to live here during that time cheaper rent or something to make up for it being a construction site. Its also hard to ignore the maintenance workers when they have a team meeting ON AND AROUND your car every morning. I have walked out to people SITTING on my car, and when I come out, it still does not phase them. I have literally started my car with someone sitting on it. - just plain unacceptable. I have also been late to work because trucks are blocking me in my spot.I have come home Friday nights after a long work week excited to sleep in Saturday- NOPE, theyve got other plans for you. Whether its the smoke coming through the vents from cigarettes or the blaring music from the repair men downstairs, they will make sure you are awake just as long as they are there (which if you havent caught on, is always- which might I add is uncomfortable.) We were promised a new pool deck, a new fitness center, everything before the season was over, and I have honestly yet to see much change. I love the area, dont get me wrong, but I will not be re-leasing. There are definitely nicer places out there for less. We should literally be refunded for a chunk of our lease each month.
I lived here for a year and got out as soon as I could. Yes, they refurbished the apartments but the buildings are too old to be saved. The air system is so loud that Im not kidding when I say you have to turn up volume on your TV 30 notches to hear over the air coming out of the vents. The walls are paper thin so it is easy to hear conversations (and other noises) from surrounding apartments. There is a train track nearby that you get the pleasure of listening to 4-5 times day/night. It took one week for them to send maintenance to repair something simple in my shower. There are no garbage disposals in the sink so have fun scraping your food into the trash every time no matter how small. It is not worth the price. I NEVER take the time to write reviews but thought I could save someone the unpleasant experience. Do not live here, you will regret it.
Our apartment was recently renovated, and we love the new open concept kitchen/dining/living room area! The new appliances are excellent and we love our new big center island.Even though the renovation process was extremely frustrating, the office staff has always been friendly. Fox and Hounds is very pet friendly, with clean-up stations throughout the property and a fun, fenced-in Bark Park where dogs can run free and play. The maintenance staff has always been very attentive to any service request we have put in, and usually address any issue either same-day or next-day. One down side of our place is that it is right next to a rail road track, which can get quite loud.
Im changing my review because while the apartments themselves are still great, the management here is absolutely awful. I have had nothing but problems with them. The unit below mine has been vacant for the entire year I have lived here, but they continually confuse my apartment as the vacant one and have entered unannounced at least three times. Once while I was walking my dog (just across the lot in a grassy area without my unit key), a person from management entered my apartment and locked me out when he left - I realized as I was walking back up to my door and he was driving away in his golf cart. I chased him all the way back to the rentals office and explained to him what happened and he offered a sorry about that and drove away - I assumed he was coming to let me back in so I walked back over to my place and waited. And waited. And waited. I had to go all the way back to the rentals office and get ANOTHER person to let me in because he had disappeared. I was outside for almost 30 mins and this was in the middle of winter. Now my lease is up for renewal, and they are trying to offer me the same rate like it is some sort of great deal, but online they are advertising them for almost $100 less per month. When I tried to ask them about this, there was no negotiating - the staff were incredibly rude and gave me a bunch of bs, and then basically ushered me out the door because they had potential tenants waiting in the lobby. DO NOT MOVE IN. If I knew about this sooner, I would have arranged a new place to live for the next year, but as it is, it will be too difficult for me to move before my current lease is up.Great place to live, beautiful modern kitchen with a center island, pet friendly, and a much more reasonable price than what I am used to moving from the NJ/NY area. Very happy with my apartment. Photo shared is from kitchen/lounge area.

2021-10-17I moved to fox and hounds in March/April of 2021. This has been one of the best apartments I have lived in while in Columbus. The price of my current lease for a one bedroom is very competitive with neighboring complexes. The kitchen is updated and very nice ( I absolutely LOVE having a gas stove). The only downside of the kitchen is that it does not have a garbage disposal. However, for me, this is not a big deal. I have lived in apartments with no garbage disposal before. All of the appliances ( fridge, microwave, stove, dishwasher) match and are very new. My dog is my everything. It is great to live in a community with likeminded neighbors and management staff. The bark park is so helpful when I do not have time to go to the large dog park down the road (godown dog park).I did get double charged for utilities for two months. However, I was told the company kept sending out bills when they were not supposed to. Both times, management quickly responded to my inquiries and removed the charge or credited my account for the overpayment. I was also locked out of my apartment twice (by a dog), both times were on the weekend and management quickly responded when i reached out and sent someone to help me.Clubhouse is currently being updated and I’m pretty excited to see the changes. I forgot to mention I have a very large stacked front loading washer and dryer that I absolutely love. I definitely recommend fox and hounds. It is 15 mins from downtown and 10 mins away from campus/ short north. Everything you could want is within reach for suburb prices.

2022-06-09I love living here! The apartment is in great condition. The pool and gym are very nice as well. I had one maintenance issue that was fixed quickly thanks to the amazing maintenance crew! In general, the staff has been super helpful and friendly, especially Lydia, Heather and Linda!

2021-11-30Awful place with no working amenities, very very unfriendly and helpful staff, and a front office that harasses you till you change to a 5 star review, and basically said “it’s very dumb to leave a bad review for a place you currently live.” Sounds like a threat to me. Not to mention we were told that the gym would be finished “very soon” and they have made no apparent progress in two months. An ex renter here told us it has been “coming soon” for several months. Love being lied to about AND paying for amenities that aren’t available! Not to mention several of our appliances including our fridge, oven hood, kitchen under cabinet lights, and our bathtub drain were all non/poor functioning when we moved in. On night one we had a carbon monoxide scare that was due to a faulty alarm, and the broken stove hood. Fire department showed up at 1am before we could contact ANYONE from fox and hounds, via any of the phone numbers available to us.Update 1: pool randomly closed during operating hours no one will tell us why.Update 2: people from other complexes use the pool daily. I’ve met more people from hearthstone or the place across Kenny than from F&H.Update 3: posted about “working out in 24/7 gym” with photos of so called “gym” that is not complete yet. The post was august 26th, and it’s currently September 16 and we still don’t have a completed gymUpdate 4: we were charged double for our utilities and it took them over two weeks and several emails to fix it.Update 5: our building is LITERALLY falling apart. See photos.Update 6: two more cracks have appeared and our heat only works well in two roomsF&H if you want that 5 star review so badly, fix your place

2022-03-24Absolutely awful place to live. The walls are thin and the property management does not care about the residents. Trash and broken glass all over the parking lots. Saw the police here a lot. They will 100% try and screw you on charges when you move out as well, they tried to make me pay for rapairs to the unit which were preexisting upon move in. I brought these issues up to management at move in and they were dismissed as normal wear and tear. STAY AWAY! Overpriced old buildings. Basically putting lipstick on a pig. I originally gave a lower review when I lived here and they threatened me to change the review to 5 stars. Every second living here was misery. I bet they even respond to this review with more nonsense and lies! Maybe if they spent more time actually managing the property and less time responding to internet reviews it would actually be a decent place to live.

2021-03-24It’s been two years since I lived here and I’m still angry about it. There were several times people were in my apartment to “fix” things with no notice at all (this was when things were getting “remodeled”. It’s eerie to see a mans dirty shoe prints in your apartment when you had no knowledge of someone being there) I complained and they said they wrote a note on my file saying I’d prefer a notice before anyone was there as if that wasn’t standard practice already. One time we got an eviction notice because my roommate had forgotten to write out our address on the front of the envelope. I paid a exorbitant amount of money in electric to keep my dehumidifier going all the time because I lived in a basement unit that flooded whenever there was rain, ruined two rugs and a couch because if it. Just hope that Jen is no longer working there. She’d ride around in a golf cart, quietly posting notes on your door, then would dash away before you could catch her to ask questions. For instance, she posted a note saying we were short on our rent and we’d be evicted (yes another eviction notice- Jen loved to hand these out any time there was an issue which would alarm anyone) which was odd. Luckily, I was able to catch her before she dodged me. She said we should’ve known about the increase as she had sent “multiple” letters before. There was also never any new lease signed with a new amount owed either. I even had to contact my lawyer at one point because I knew many of my rights has a renter were being trampled. It’s just bad business. I’ve never had issues before or after from other landlords and would rate any of them 5 stars compared to fox and hound.

2021-11-29People are nice. apartment is decent. appliances are in somewhat faulty condition and the past repairs are apparent, as they tend to be slap duct tape on it. It was very upsetting to move into the appartment that I was told just finishing being made ready for me. to find it was very dirty. The floors needed a deep clean and the counter tops and shelving had a thick layer of dust. The bedroom was the only place acceptable at best. as it was recently vacuumed. I was sent to view other similar apartments and the model but was unable to visit the one I was moving into prior to move in, because of the finishing being made ready They will do their best to be warm and welcoming and make great apperances but actively try to get by with the bare minimums. Location is great. it is a roof above the head.

2021-11-03Fox and Hounds is an amazing place to live. It’s always very quiet and peaceful. They are dog friendly and even have a dog park! The apartments are renovated and have a beautiful kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The price for a 1 bedroom apartment is decently priced for the area. Everything is close to the apartment as well, so it’s easy to get to the highway and stores. I would recommend this complex to anyone in search of an apartment!

2021-09-21Loved our time at Fox and Hounds! We got a great price for a 2 bedroom, and I miss the bark park dearly. Appliances were new and worked great, and there is a lot of green space to walk around the complex. Its also very close to OSU with a lot of other students in the area but much less congested than by campus.

2021-08-03I heard they retaliate against current residents that give bad reviews. Cant do anything to me so heres an honest opinion. I just moved out 2 months ago.Its loud, smelly, and pretends to be nice on the inside but you can tell it was slapped together. They shut down the clubhouse for 3 months then tried to get me to renew while it was still closed. I did a year there and wish I hadnt. My neighbor continuously smoked inside the apartment and it came into mine no matter how many times I complained. The HVAC was old and the pool is basically a frat party all the time. If you like to smoke and have parties, thats the place to be. If youre clean and like quiet, avoid at all cost.
