Flanagans Pub in other cities:
These past 3 reviews are from a past server or someone connected to that person and man the situation really is not that deep. Its a family bar with great regulars and customers who are family to us. That includes all employees. No owner hires someone to just fire them for fun later. They cut ties with workers if its not working out. Theres multiple reasons and we arent going to get into a fight over it in public on why the person was let go, thats just childish. Anyone who reads these reviews can come see us for themselves. Ive worked at the bar for almost a decade as have many other servers and staff. Weve had staff leave and comeback. Staff do not come back if its a bad work environment. Im sorry it just did not work out for this server but it literally happens. The thing on pay is this: We give out tips from credit cards IN CASH to the server and then take the taxes from that out of the paycheck. So paychecks aren’t the usual $5/hr times the amount of hours you work. This server in question did not understand that. We have never withheld money from anyone. We kept tips from a server who left for SIX months in our safe and waited for them to come back and collect. We don’t short anyone. We really are a family bar and love our staff. We are sorry it didn’t workout with this person and others in the past. It’s what happens with staff and a business sometimes it just does not work out. Please come try us out and do not form an opinion from these bias reviews. I promise the bar is all love!
Girlfriend worked here. Was promised one wage and recieved a significantly lower wage. The other employees warned that she needed to make sure her wages and tips were accurate. (They were not) My advice is with so many legitimate places hiring right now, why would anyone work for a place like this?
Breakfast review. So much of what I see is food brought in from restaurant supplier. Now granted I have not tried many items, but a server even told me about some items I questioned on the menu. Doesnt mean the food is bad. If anything its consistent. For example there is 2 choices of GFS sausage gravy available, and one is bland, while the other is much better than the homemade gravy many restaurants brag about. After just having an Irish Breakfast Shot the other day, I inquired if it was the same. Yes, but were out of Jamesons, so its Makers Mark. Hmmm.Ive tried the biscuits & gravy, breakfast burrito, pancakes, and today the country fried steak. All are OK. Pancakes were a bit chewy from over mixing. The bacon is the best thing going. Lots and crispy. On each visit there was a good turnout. Not overwhelming to the staff or kitchen. Most are regulars that hollar out by name. Thats a good reason for a pub to open its doors early enough to serve breakfast. All the tables are high tops since years ago when they had booths. Good luck to anyone in a wheelchair, looking up at everyone eating. A small stage for a single performer is at one end. A jukebox competes with all the TVs. This is a Cleveland Browns fan hangout. Ammenities include a rather large side room with regular height tables and another bar. Great for private parties. Moving on to the back is a large patio. Past the 6 privacy fence is a line of tall trees that looks better than concrete buildings. The street traffic is drowned out by the music or live band on the bandstand. A center island bar is surrounded by a sea of plastic resin patio furniture with distillery branded umbrellas for shade. All of this setting is adorned with a rooftop mannequin that peers over.Alcohol and lunch or dinner menu is now on my radar. I noticed a daily lunch specials chalkboard on the way out. These items looked more along the lines of homemade.
Well this is an unfortunate review. Went to Flanagans a few months ago for breakfast and service was pretty bad but decided to give it another try. Arrived about 330pm. Got drinks and menus and then was apparently completely forgotten about. We waited about 25 minutes for the waitress to return, debated walking out completely but instead went to the bar and told the waitress we were ready to order. She must have sensed my irritation because then another waitress came to take our order. About another 15 minutes went by and finally our food arrived...without the appetizer we ordered....which of course defeats the purpose entirely of an appetizer as it should come out prior to the meal. By now it appeared the wait staff had changed shifts. We were never offered drink refills, I had to ask for that as well. First time ever in my life I didnt tip. We wont be back.
Only good thing about this place is the staff. Its a gold mine of a location. The owner parks his truck and almost blocks the front door with it. Ok your the owner so act like one versus sitting at bar and watch staff run around and do there best.I get the steak and eggs and never need A1 but with this cheap and no seasoned steak I need it. But they are always out of that. And yes please try harder to get rid of the flies and be aware of the music, and whats on the tvs.Contact me if you want to sell it. And have never ever seen any kind of manager there.Very disappointing.
Group of 7 on Friday at 6pm. Waited 2 hours 45 min after arriving until food arrived. Water tasted bad. Half of food was brought out 10 min before the rest. Waited over an hour for mediocre burger that ignored a no onion direction. Overpriced. Good bar atmosphere, bad restaurant. Only 3 outdoor spots for groups over 6.
I unfortunately had to leave 1 star ! INFESTED WITH FLIES.. The wife and I decided to go for breakfast at this establishment. We walked in and sat at the bar, upon being seated, we looked up at the lights and there were dozens of flies on all lights. The smell of cleaning products were close to overwhelming. We moved from the bar to a table and again looked around the empty bar to see multiple flies. We like Flanagans but at this point, it might have been our last visit. In the past, the breakfast food was good but another unfortunate turn of events, the food was subpar.
This bar is dirty and keep to go containers over a trash can . Flys all over the to go boxes . Asked multiple times to remove the containers and they kicked me out instead of improving the situation. The gutters are full and overflowing on to outside bar patrons and their food and drinks . The general manager huh o has been there has no idea when the gutters were cleaned nor does she know when the beer lines outside have been cleaned. The new owners are impolite and they have a big turn over with staff. More expensive that ever with less quality of cleanliness and service.
Just threw a private birthday party at Flanagans and it was wonderful! The back bar and patio were just perfect for our gathering as well as the delicious pizza and wings. Service was outstanding, everyone was happy and they kept the party going!! Thank you Flanagans Pub!!
Well, I ordered cod steak fries, wanted to sudstitue Cole slaw out for something elseWaitress said she would get me a fruit cup or something, my wife orderd 10 in pep pizza ,My cod was frozen and deep fried , way over cooked, greasy, waitress brought me Cole slaw never said a word about it , lol, my wifes pizza was blackened litterally, burnt bad on bottom .I ordered sweet tea , got unsweetened , got charged for two pizzas made differently, took care of that and then in the 45 minutes we were there we saw two mice behind bar area, thats enough for us .
Based on the comments about wages not being paid properly, it sounds like those that have worked here need to go to the Ohio Department of Labor and Wages and file a complaint. These complaints alone and the way the owners have responded have stopped me from going here. You don’t get to treat people like this and still get my business so you can continue to do it to others
Placed an order for take out. Was told to arrive around 8:20 on Sunday night. Arrived and the doors were locked and employees inside would not answer. Tried calling with nothing. Never got my food and never received a call saying to not come pick up order.EDIT: Gina made sure everything was great and everyone was very apologetic. I appreciate the hospitality and will be back. Thank you
What a great time watching Lowcash mid-day; fun to get out and hear some live music. Everyone was safe distancing. Flanagans was very accommodating! My husband doesn’t drink so they took care of him, and my long islands were pricey but good! Pizza was delicious and we had a great time!
Flanagans used to be one of my favorite places but something has changed. New owners or new management??? I went there Saturday night and sat outside at the bar. The guy working the bar walked right by me several times and didn’t acknowledge me. He had friends there and they were his priority. I was going to order dinner but I felt like such an inconvenience I paid for my 1 beer and left. I told him I didn’t appreciate being ignored and he just looked at me and didn’t say a word. I have friends that also have had similar experiences. I will spend my money elsewhere. They have a great place with a great patio but have lost focus of the customer.
Great pizza! The best in town! And live music is a plus. Im confused by the previous review. I was there last night and the musician was waaaay too loud. Not typical. My glass was vibrating. Im so glad someone did tell them to turn it down. It made our evening much more enjoyable. And the new owners, I see only good things. Been coming here for over 5 years. Its been good, but now its great!
I really want to like this place but they give a reason not too almost every time I either go in or try a phone order.Once, I called and was asked to hold. I could hear noise in the background meaning she set the phone down. 20 minutes later ( I also tried calling back on a friends phone but it was busy of course) Im still on hold. Im ticked off but its the closest place where I was working so I drive up there. When I go in I tell the waitress what happened and suggest she check their phone. What! Its off the hook still?! Not so much as an apology, just asked if I still wanted to place an order! The old man (owner?) is the grumpiest customer service worker ever, unless youre a regular, then youre treated pretty good.Eat here if youre into mediocre food and terrible service.
I work here so my opinion doesnt matter but the business we bring in should. We have numerous repeat customers and I think that has a lot to say for a place. Nice friendly atmosphere. Its a place I consider safe. I dont go places on my own much but this is a place that I feel totally comfortable going to alone and I have spoke to others about that and they feel the same way. Our staff hussles and I think we all work well together creating a wonderful and enjoyable environment. If you havent been here please check us out.
Heard of the place for quite some time but never visited due to driving distance from home. However, God is good and an office meeting took me there. They have a good variety of meals with nice portions. A very nice sort of spring water behind the bar,,, and service compliments everything else.
Ive been here several times and the food is really not good compared to other places in the area. The burgers, sandwiches and appetizers I have tried were all pretty bland and sub standard. Its basically low quality bar food. It it always busy so it must be a popular place to drink, but just avoid eating her.
A great place to patronize. First great employees with customers satisfaction number one concern. Employees make companies..Good food, wonderful atmosphere, cold refreshments and did I mention good help. If in Blacklick a suburb of Columbus, Ohio visit Flanagans. See ya there.
Food was average and service was terrible. There were only about 8 customers and probably the same number of employees but it was almost impossible to get an order for either drinks or food and I was at the bar where all the employees where. They were more interested in talking among themselves or regular customers then waiting on a new face. Will not be going back.
I first heard of Flanagans through the line dance group jeff and megan have brought us all many great dances and great times through dance nice made alot of good friends and megan and jeff have become family to all of us the bar is always clean the food excellent and the atmosphere is always fun and safe the staff is friendly and always quick to help and the owner is the most down to earth guy Ive talked to

2021-10-16We were looking for something different for brunch after church...We have driven by Flanagans pub thousands of times over the years but never stopped in. Now we wish we would have figured this out earlier. Their service was spot on... Their brunch menu was really good. The food was terrific. I had the omelet which was really big (3 egg) with plenty of stuff inside. Wifie had their breakfast which she really enjoyed. We need to go back in the evening to enjoy the dinner menu.

2022-02-05As a customer for years and now a employee I want to share how great this place is! As a employee the management is very engaged and doesnt hesitate to help any of us regardless of the task and always goes the extra mile to ensure every guest leaves with a smile. These kind folks have treated me like nothing less than a family member of their own. I have been compensated greatly for my efforts and have always been taken care of very well in that aspect. I have worked in multiple bars and this one is definitely one to brag about. The kitchen is very clean and the food is delightful. The beer selection is great and the knowledgeable bartenders can mix up about any drink you can think of. To conclude every day I walk in the door I have a smile just knowing I will be surrounded by great guests and team members and I leave with a smile because I see familys gather and have great times together and I see a amazing team come together every day to make that possible.

2022-02-17Always stop in with friends for drinks and appetizers. We love the menu options and enjoy the patio with live music. Feels like a nice hometown atmosphere. Also had our high school reunion here in the party room which was a perfect space as well as having overflow to the patio space. Love Flanagan’s!

2022-02-27Flanagans in Blacklick looks busy everytime we drive by so we thought wed try it for the first time tonight (Sat night). As expected, its a comfortable corner bar. The staff were very friendly. Telling us their pizza is their specialty so we ordered three pizzas and a couple starters to go.Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The pizzas were all very dry. A shame since I ordered one with extra sauce but it wasnt prepared that way. The pizza is the typical Central Ohio round, thin cracker crust cut in squares with bland flavor. The toppings were near flavorless. All three pies were disappointing to my family. It was almost laughable how bad it was as our kids kept showing us how their slice was absent sauce and cheese and had a hollowed out unfresh crust. They kept asking if it was really pizza. We had low expectations for the starters and werent disappointed. The steak fries were undercooked with zero seasoning. The onion rings was also bland. Our meal was definitely not worth the money as we ended up throwing much of the food in the trash. I doubt well return for a meal but I can see stopping by for a beer as the place does seem friendly. Unfortunately their food was a huge disappointment.

2022-02-06This place has roaches. I used to work in the kitchen, and I would have to clean the dough roller out, talk about an infestation. Absolutely the worst place Ive ever cooked for. Wouldnt suggest anything from there. They hadnt changed the beer hoses in DECADES, the cleaning protocols are non-existent, and they routinely fail health inspections. The only reason theyre still open is because the building is grandfathered in on almost all modern specifications. The Billisits Family now owns this place, as opposed to The Flanagans.Karl and Maureen Billisits.

2021-12-15Review is not in regards to the food or service. Just beware this is not a place you want to work. Multiple reasons, wont list all. Will advise to get your hourly wage in writing and to closely monitor your tips and hours.Edit: No, I am confident I have the right place, thanks. Im sure you also know I have the right place. Thanks for letting her go. You did me a favor as now she can get a decent job.
