Fishers Foods in other cities:
Terrible customer service. Not even cashier speaks till they say total. Prices are shockingly high. Smell of rotted meat through first half of store. No lids on salad bar. No lids on hot foods. They want everyone to wear a mask but leave food out in the open. Fishers had a long history with the community and loyal customers. They have become an over priced convenience store but not a destination grocery.
Came to the Fulton Rd location to pick up a birthday cake and some of their Chinese food - both were phenomenal!! They may just be abgrocery store, but their hot food counter serves restaurant quality quick meals for those on the go... and the cake was very soft and elegantly designed! ...ask for whipped cream icing, its AMAZING !
Im tired of the poor customer service that we have recieved the last few times weve used the hot food section. The man who often works there is very short, unhelpful and has been downright rude. This is not the way to keep people returning, especially with Meijer opening soon!
Lets face it... Fishers foods as a local chain is dying a really slow death that is painful to watch. But... What the chain lacks this fishers makes up for in a fantastic liquor selection, excellent fresh sushi, and really delicious deli, Chinese, and fried chicken, and ready made meals. I still dont really shop here for groceries.... And I cant put my finger on why it is a more depressing grocery experience here than elsewhere. But it is. Its cluttered. And hard to find stuff. And its a joyless experience overall...I hope the store survives... Id miss the wine and liquor selection and certainly $5 sushi day.
I was hit or miss on how many stars to give Fisher Foods. My visit was more sad then anything. This used to be the place to go and it was always a pain because you couldnt get in and out in quickly even with 10 registers running because it was so busy. Today, 2 registers, 1 bagger and very few customers. They still have a large variety of products and some unique ones that other stores dont carry. Their produce though was a little concerning. I needed a chili pepper which they didnt have. No problem, Ill go with a jalapeño. The jalapeños were all bad. They were wrinkled and soft. I didnt see a good package of mushrooms either that Id trust as they all had moisture inside the packaging. On the other hand, the green and Vidalia onions were good and fresh. Some of the meat looked like itd been a day or two since it had been cut or ground based upon the coloring. Bottom line, just carefully check out the fresh produce and meat and youll be fine.
One of the weirdest grocery store layouts you may ever encounter.Seriously, who thought of it?Nothing makes sense. There are things hidden around corners and what seems like isles that just dead end.The employees are very friendly but honestly the store layout throws me off.
This is a local store, always clean and orderly. They have a good selection of produce and it is Fresh, unlike some other places that sell stuff that is on the verge of spoiling. This store is very good at getting you through the checkout quickly, the one on Tusc/Whipple depending on who is working is painstakingly slow.
Long time local owned grocery store in the Canton area. Fisher foods is known for local low prices on groceries. The store is clean and neat although displays are dated. The meat section is good. The hamburger is always fresh ground and a good value. The store is somewhat in decline due to stiff competition from big grocery chains in the area.
Used to be my favorite store for years. Recent experience after being apprehensive about going back months ago, is that the guy behind the hot foods serving counter took off his Covid 19 mask. That didnt bother me personally too much, I just thought it was inconsiderate. I ordered Chinese food, and he didnt provide the complimentary white rice, I could tell he was hoping I didnt ask (shouldnt have had to) and he was hoping I wouldnt ask. He seemed to want me out of his way, so I let it go. Wasnt too friendly. Also, the Superior brand chocolate milk seemed a little spoiled. It seemed like their refrigerators were not as cold as they could have been. I did buy a package of chicken from the meat section, and the refrigerator temperature seemed a little high there too. The organic strawberries they had advertised were literally moldy without having to look for it on several packages. Vine tomatoes not ripe. I was picking through the corn, when the produce guy just came out and dumped a new batch on the display. Didnt say excuse me, I just got out of his way. Furthermore, didnt remove the old corn. I was glad to get the new corn regardless. I understand budgets are tight with the competition, but employees seem negative with the exception of a few of the experienced female cashiers. The one that checked me out was super nice and helpful! I just hate to see Fishers go, but it looks like they are heading that direction, because they cant keep up with the basics. It did smell better this time though; last few times it smelled fishy. I think its because of the flooring, holds smells, but who knows. I think they cater to the older generations, but its probably time to stop doing that.
Used to work here and would not give it a thumbs up just for that reason. I have always had a good experience with Fisher foods. The family are closely involved and very personable in their business process. The food is always rotated appropriately and fresh. The prices are closely marketed as you would expect anywhere else. Not the mention the deli and bakery are by far the best Ive ever experienced anywhere!
Produce is awful. More than half is shriveled, moldy, just bad. Only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because the employees are very polite.Upped to 3 stars for ENFORCING masks. Thank you to the employees who dont fold under the pressure of entitled snowflake customers who think their made up health conditions give them the right to put the rest of us at risk.
Short very stout dark-haired cashier with glasses looked at me when I walked in with no mask. She watched me fill my cart up with groceries let me put it on the counter to check out and then informed me she wouldn’t do it without a mask. That is not about health that is some weird control issue & also a violation of the Americans with disabilities act. She needs fired and so does the manager Jackie. You allow your customers to be bullied. Too much competition, people will go elsewhere. You also price gouge, Buehlers is cheaper. You keep stuff for sale past expiration dates. Nasty anymore
Walked around the store lost for 5 minutes. No one asked if I needed help. I finally found the half and half. I got to the register and the price rang up about 50 cents more than the tag on the shelf. Since I didnt have a club card they werent going to give me the good price. I guess they punish new customers. Finally the cashier scanned her card and I got it for a competitive price.I dont think they realize that the are other places to shop.
The liquor store at this location had a highly sought after spirit in the back, openly admitted it, and refused to bring it out or tell us when they would. We stopped back 2 other times that day and were finally told they sold out. I can understand wanting to deter truck chasers and giving everyone a fair chance, but there has got to be a better way!
Convenient local grocery store.I will applaud for how clean they keep the store, however, low quality prodhce, theyre known for having expired products, and a few employees there are unpleasant to people they stereotype. Even through all this I have still spent a lot of hard earned money here. Be advised, prices are a bit over the top also, so SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I love the shop here every single Department seems to do it really well job keeping things fresh and looking nice also you almost have that old school comforting feeling when youre in this place its like your family works there or something I dont know what it is but I tell you what this grocery store does a real great job
My Father loved Fisher Foods. I hate that the stores close to us closed so now we have to travel farther just to do our shopping! Also I was wondering why some stores train there bakery staff and not others. Someone I know works at the West Tusc store and rewallybwants to learn cake Decoratingz. Why won’t the supervisor in charge train the new employees???.
Locally owned and ran, Fishers has a great selection of wine and beer. They carry the only wine that my wife drinks so we stop here from time to time to pick up a few bottles. Their fresh food in the market and the bakery is always great. I remember my parents always getting their yellow smile cookies when I was a kid. Even though their prices are slightly over priced, I still recommend them.
My husband and I always wanted to stop here to check it out. So, since we were in the area, we decided to stop in. We walked in, the store was a mess. The smell of dead animals or spoiled seafood was horrible. We didnt even make it past the registers, we walked out gagging. I dont know if this is normal or just an off day, but it didnt give us a good first impression.
I love going to Fishers. I love the deli and bakery. I have went to Fishers since a child, with my parents and after I be came a young adult. The only draw back is when new stuff comes out. Fishers is a little slow in getting it in stores. The prices in Fishers r good too.
This Fishers is particularly cool as it is the company store. Youll find a beer tasting area, state liquor store, a very large healthy foods area and this really cool (delicious) grill area for prepped meals. Fishers has always been the best place to go for groceries in Stark county and Ive never had a bad experience.
Great store, but abysmal customer service. Always understaffed and the phone customer service is a nightmare to get what and where you want. Spend some money on customer service too. Damn Js. And the bakery is nothing special- typical US mass produced (supermarket) baked goods. These people wouldnt know a good bakery if it bit them in the ads.Being from the French Apls I know quality baked goods, this isnt them.
Shop here every week. The reason I am giving four stars is because the prices are good, have a great rewards system and the staff is extremely friendly! Love seeing the bagger, Scotty, every time I go in! It is also very convenient and check out goes pretty quick.Only downfall is sometimes produce isn’t always the best and sometimes I can not always get what is on my grocery list as they are often out of stock.I highly recommend this grocery store over Aldis, Mars and Acme.
I dont shop there often, had a couple bad experiences with seafood and they are a bit pricey. However, yesterday, ran in to see if they had any shrimp. Bought some - looking forward to a shrimp supper . . . opened it and it was sticky and smelled awful. I cant believe the clerk didnt smell it. Thats it for me! Goodbye Fishers
Process are getting worse and the quality is going down. Unconcerned cashiers dont care about customer service. Didnt even try twice to get my rewards card to work. Doesnt matter because theyve gotten so stingy and keep changing the rules and reducing your benefits. Only go in for a few items that no one else has.
My grandmother used to shop at fishers, my father shops at fishers until now I have shopped at fishers. Lately everytime I go in the cashier associates seem annoyed upset and rude. On my visiting today Nancy was especially rude. As I set my basket on the belt with my hands full she insisted that I empty the basket to quote on quote make it go faster for her. At the end of my transaction she flicked my receipt at me as she moved on to the next customer. Very disappointed.
Terrible customer service in the deli. Instead of being honest about a sale they made up an excuse. If you didnt get that product that the sale is in then you asked if its okay to give you something else. I know it is not that hard to do that job as I have in a more strict deli. Guess we will not be going back here. What a shame.
I dont recommend getting Fishers catering for anyone who is thinking about it. Joe Pileggi and his team messed up my very simple catering order and provided horrible service afterwards.I pretty much had to ask for an apology after talking to several different people about the fact and no one saying anything. I was then told I would receive a gift card or credit for my troubles and never did.
Their deli has great original, homemade recipes. Chicken salad, ham salad, and Mexican cheese dip are all great. Bakery is amazing with a huge selection of scratch made pastries, cakes, pies, cookies and breads. Hot foods section has even more options of fishers homemade recipes like chinese foods, lasagna, burritos, sushi, broasted chicken and jojos, and so much more. Meats are excellent. Great sales and savings/digital coupons with their app. Grocery pickup and delivery offered. Oh and theres a florist and an optometrist. This place has it all.
They have Ice Wine!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just be careful and take a pic of the price on everything you buy. The guy in lines fruit rang up wrong and so did mine, maybe the fixed it since? But Id just have proof if I was you. But they fixed it for me and So Happy They Had Ice Wine!!!!!

2022-05-19They have a decent beer selection and their produce is very fresh. A bit overpriced on everything, even when using a loyalty card. The few times that I went, there were only 2 registers open, 1 on each side of the store and always a line at both. If youre in a hurry you might not want to stop in here.

2022-07-14Came here about a month ago to the beer section. JAMES the bartender was incredibly rude and made some mean and horrible nasty comments about my brother over an ID incident to which he was totally wrong. When I approached him respectfully about the things he said he went on and on while cursing in front of customers and to the customers which was me and 3 other people. He thinks i was mad about him asking for an ID when really i was mad about what he said. The manager said I can expect a phone call from the owner and also said it wasn’t the first incident with JAMES. He should be terminated from his position.

2022-01-28I only saw 2 staff in the store around 7pm, it took approx. 15 min. before staff came to the deli (this was the 2nd staff). Food was fresh, what I looked at or bought. The checkout clerk was the office staff. He handled our order great. My friend and I both had a large cart full, after we started our orders, then the line grew quickly. No other staff appeared.

2020-01-22Liquor store is OUTSTANDING, the rest of the store isnt. Kind of dim, which makes it seem dingy. Prices higher than any other grocery store in the area. I fear for them when the Meijer opens. :(

2022-01-02Good selection of beers and wines. Prices on those are good. However, they didnt have alot of beers available in singles to allow me to try. Staff in that department was knowledgeable. Bakery is always good. Prices on alot of other items are higher than others. That being said cashiers and baggers were excellent
