I was in pain with both knees and they got me in the same day, I figured I would have to wait at least 2 days. I ask for Angie Miller, she is great, very compassionate and I rarely feel anything when she gives me shots.Friendly staff.I do not like filling out all the paper work, that takes me 30 minutes!
I had an excellent experience at First Settlement. I had recently been diagnosed with severe osteoporosis by my primary care doctor. I had a lot of questions on what my future would look like. The reception staff were very nice and I was checked in quickly. The lobby is set up with social distancing in mind. Angie and Cindy gave me a very warm welcome; I was comfortable with both of them right away. Angie walked me through exactly what my osteoporosis looked like, and what our plan was to build up my bone over the next 2 years. I had been having a pain in my hip for a couple of months that i assumed was osteo, but angie knew immediately it was bursitis. Angie gave me a shot in my hip and by the next morning my pain had significantly decreased. Bottom line, they are very warm and know their stuff. I left with a very clear plan of action, and a lot less stress than I walked in with. 10 out of 5 stars all the way around. Ill definitely be going back.
Went in for what I thought would be a simple procedure and turns out I needed to have surgery on my finger because of infection.....on top of all of this my honeymoon was in two days. They were so nice, got the surgery scheduled and had me in and out so I could still go. Everyone was really patient and respectful of my time. The waiting period was very short. They worked together as a team to get me in and out and I am greatly appreciative of their time and efforts
My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Nayak and have nothing but high praise for him. At office visits he is never rushed when talking to us and fully answers our concerns and questions. He performed a knee replacement for my wife who got along great and experienced a rapid recovery. We have found the office staff to be courteous and helpful and we recommend First Settlement Orthopaedics to anyone needing this type of service.
Dr Drew is great.... love him. He has a great bedside manner. Makes me feel very relaxed and confident about what hes doing.The staff is very patient and quite helpful. Not a very long wait. The get you in as quick as possible. Everything is explained in a way even I can understand.
Dr. Lane was so nice. He was courteous and caring. My situation was one that he had not seen before but was knowledgeable about. He offered suggestions and alternatives. Angie Miller is top notch! So kind and patient with my 99 year old mother. Mom is amazed at how well she gives her the shots in moms knees and hip. The nurses and office staff could not be nicer. Everything goes smoothly and quickly when we are there.
I went into the office hoping to get a Cortisone injection for severe knee pain. After X-rays were taken, I was seen by Dr. Nanak. He injected my knee with little discomfort to me.. He uses a small US machine for placement. He is the best I’ve had. Explains the problem and options for treatment.I have total trust in him.
Had the finest experience I have ever had at a medical facility, all do to Dr. Lane. He is the kindest, take his time, best at explaining to you your condition Dr. I have ever seen in 74 years.I was referred to him by the VA, and am so thankful for that, and that I got Dr. Lane.I would recommend him to anyone, and I mean anyone.
I did not have a long wait before seeing Dr. K ii . The staff were nice and very thorough. When the doctor came in he was friendly and asked me about any issues I had. I had gone there for a check-up for knee replacements from about 14 years ago, but mentioned that I was having issues with my back. Dr K ii immediately had x-rays done . I believe him to be a kind, considerate man who loves his job, and his patients. First Settlement is the place to go for orthopedic needs.
I am so thankful for the doctors and staff at the Belpre, Ohio, First Settlement Orthopaedic office. I have had many bone related injuries, and have been treated by their highly skilled orthopedic surgeons, nurse practitioners, and staff. Not only are they excellent at what they do, but they show deep compassion, and empathy for their patients. I would never go anywhere else for my orthopedic needs.

My first visit with Dr. Lane was an unexpected pleasure. He was pleasant, relaxed, thorough. In addition he was a good listener, answered any and all of my questions, discussing treatment plan, side effects of treatment, helpful instructions on how to best aid the treatment process. The end result was a fast recovery and excellent result. I could not be more pleased! Thank you.

Dr Mark Lane is an awesome surgeon! He did my hip replacement and it was a very good experience. He is very professional, warm, thoughtful and easy to talk with. Dr Lane explained everything that I would be going through and has been available for any follow up questions. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing hip replacement.
I was never actually seen by a physician. My appointment was at 2:15. I was in the exam room at 3:45 but could not wait any longer due to previous commitments. I consider the wait time totally unacceptable. I have to wonder, if I was an hour and a half late would the doctor have seen me? My suspicion is No. Plus apparently they dont accept Medicaid as the receptionist asked for a $45 copay which was payable before the exam. I would not wait an 90 minutes for a church service. What makes you consider 90 minutes acceptable as a wait time.

I was in and out within 30 minutes. Dr Ada was very helpful and explained what I needed to do to correct my injury. He encouraged me to call at anytime for additional treatment if needed. Dr Ada was joking and very pleasant to talk to.

Andrew Whittaker was great. He was quick, smart and figured out what was wrong with my foot and how to ease my pain quickly with no painkillers. I also received a total hip replacement here with Dr. Krivchenia. With awesome results. These people are phenomenal and I would recommend them to anybody. Dr. Henry performed reverse shoulder replacement surgery on me three weeks ago, and I am rehabbing at home. Results so far have been amazingly good. Staff and nurses have been terrific! I highly recommend them!

I was on crutches when I went into First settlement yesterday with problems with my knee. Thanks to Angie Miller who took care of me, I am full weight bearing today, cautiously and keeping crutches handy. I have dealt with this office for bilateral hip replacements, left shoulder replacement and all follow ups. My experience has been nothing short of perfection with all my experience with the doctors, staff. and any questions I have had. I would not even consider anyone else. They are first rate in all they do.
I was told on the phone my appointment was 10:00 but when I received paperwork to fill out prior to appointment the time was for 9:10. I arrived at 9:00 to check in. I was not taken back to the room until about 10:05. It was after 10:15 when Doctor came in. My time is just as valuable as there’s. I should not have to wait over an hour to see the doctor. Everything else was good.
I’ve been a patient at First Settlement for many years. The care I’ve received there has been nothing but first class. I would recommend Angela Miller to everyone, especially women. She genuinely cares for her patients.

The lady who helped us check in, Debbie, was very friendly & professional. I am a care giver to a patient & the only concern that I have is that due to the drug abuse problems in the MOV is that a patient with a fractured hip can not get the medication prescribed for pain that he needs. The appointment was at 9:40 am & it took appx 2 hours to be seen. Masks should be mandatory for EVERYONE. There was no one keeping track of the number of people coming into the waiting room. The option to wait in your car in the parking lot was made known but with the heat that is not a smart remedy. Paperwork for the appointment was not sent prior to the appointment. I dont understand why the medical history of a patient that is also being seen by a Dr associated with Marietta Memorial & was just discharged from Selby has to fill out the same information that is already in the computer. The place is a disorganized mess.
Dr. Lane and all of the staff at First Settlement Orthopedics did an amazing job helping my 3 year old son who fractured his radius bone get in and a cast and in a timely fashion. They were all very friendly and professional and made life a little easier for this already worried mom. Answered all my questions and explained everything throughly. I would definitely recommend any of my friends and family to go to them.
I needed a knee replacement at the same time as a few other people I know. I was amazed at the level of care I received from Dr. Gessel. My surgery went better than anyone else’s with other doctors. My recovery time was exactly as expected. The care given to me from Dr. Gessel and his office was very reassuring. Surgery was done at Selby Hospital in Mtta. I can honestly say it’s been along time since I have been in such a clean, efficient and pleasant hospital. 5 stars for Dr Gessel, his office staff and Selby Hospital
Dr Gessel is a very caring Dr. my mother is elderly and she broke her leg. He has given her the best care explaining every step of the way what he plans to do and also what the next steps in her recovery will be. Kim the nurse that works with him is just as caring to the patients as he is. Great job !!!!

I have been going to First Settlement for about a year or longer, and I am soooo pleased and grateful for the care I have received. The staff is so friendly and professional, and great at what they do! And to top it off I have the wonderful opportunity to have Angela Miller who is a great Nurse Practioner with Many years of orthopedic experience and knowledge. She listens to her patients, and gives them the best care possible. We are so blessed here in Belpre to have her, and all the team at First Settlement. 10 stars in my opinion!!!

I absolutely love this place. The staff is awesome, and Dr Gessel is the only one I trust with my knees. They have worked with me for the last 8 years, supporting my decision to avoid knee surgery, while still keeping pain manageable. I tore my meniscus 8 years ago and that was how I was introduced to Dr. Gessel. Well, the time has come for knee surgery and Dr. Gessel is the only one I will trust to do it.
Dr Lane is wonderful I was so worried and scared but from the very first visit he changed that he made me feel so comfortable and at ease him and his staff our amazing so thankful Jacie got him to be my Dr definitely will recommend him to others
I was at a breaking point with pain in my back and legs. Over 12 years I have been to many Dr.s with many xrays to be just sent to physical therapy. I was able to download from the VA records a copy of my current xrays, on my phone (that the VA said there was nothing wrong) and Dr. Gessel expanded the picture and right off noticed my hip joints are shot.He worked with me for several moths to get me to a point where I could afford to be off work and replaced one of my hips. Yes it is a struggle getting through rehab. But it has been worth it. I can actually walk again without shear pain and lots of ibuprofen. Now I am scheduled to have the other one replaced with him. Highly recommend his services with my experience.The staff is really nice, treat me well and willing to help with whatever I asked of them.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. It was easy to find. Waiting area is nice. I really appreciated the discussion I had with Angie Miller. I felt we were on the same page with a plan of action to increase my bone density.

I have had Dr. Krivchenia II as my orthopedic doctor for over 29 years. He and his staff have been great to deal with, always being professional and understanding of my needs. I recently had bilateral knee replacements and four previous surgeries through the years. I can honestly say I have never questioned his judgement or treatment plan. I consider him to be a good friend who has put a lot of work and time into my wellbeing.
Dr.Ada, Dr.Henry, and Angie Miller have been awesome. Angie is currently helping with a new situation and was able to get me in on short notice. I like the fact she is looking at more than one angle to help with this new injury!

After having suffered the worst break Ive ever managed to do, Dr Dessel and his staff have been swift to take care of my needs, including two surgeries to date (i broke it really good). Hes addressed all of my concerns and taken great care of me.I want to give a sincere thanks to Dr Gessel and all of his team.

Unlike any Dr. Office I have ever been before. Delt with at least 5 staff members all were veryfriendly and efficient!!! I was in and out in 45 minutes this included wait time and 2 sets of xrays Dr Krevchinia was informative not in a hurry. Spent lots of time with me and was genuine !!! My appointment went great once I was taken back after an unusually long wait. The injection in my knee was done quickly and painlessly. Everyone was friendly and polite.

I have been a patient of Dr. Krivchenia for 20 years or more. He and his staff is always there with a smile on their face. Dr. Krivchenia has done 18 of my 24 knee surgeries, with the last recent one being a total knee replacement. Great staff and great Doctor, Dr. Gessel is very down to earth and listens to his patients. He doesnt go straight for surgery, he instead looks for other options first always has the patience best intrest in mind. He performed my ACL replacement and Id recommend Dr. Gessel to anyone needing orthopedic surgery.Now the only negative thing I would say is sometimes the waiting for your appointment time. Ive waited as long as an hour before which may be a scheduling issue. But I would be willing to wait for an hour for a great surgeon and thats what youll get with Dr. Gessel.
They squeezed me in very quickly and staff was very helpful. Dr. Tokodi is down to earth and gets right to the point. He listened, asked me what I wanted to do, had the ball rolling pretty quick for carpal tunnel surgery.

I had an issue with my knee which was able to be resolved without surgery in Dr. Tokodis office that very day. Dr Tokodi was pleasant and informative. I appreciated the registration procedures and the technology in use that made my visit a breeze.
I like the doctors but they are always in a hurry. They dont take the time to listen and really see whats wrong. I waited in the waiting room for an hour and the dr. was in the room with me for maybe 5 min. and still no answers. Dr. Nayak was the only one that actually listen to me and wasnt running out of the room to the next client.
I was at the Belpree location Tuesday. Was greeted warmly by receptionist who took my info. Then saw Andrew Whittaker who always makes my visits a pleasure. . I have been there many times and will continue to bring my orthopedic needs to them.
I was referred because of a broken Bone in my toe. Dr. Lane, explained everything very well. He’s a very professional but laid back personality which I thought was awesome. I would recommend him to anyone!
Angela is an amazing person and exceptional nurse practitioner.I have had many cortisone shots at different places and she is the best at giving shots.
I have never had a worse experience with a hospitsl or the nurses in it. The nurse I had really looked me in the face and jokingly said after I told her my allergies were a side effect of having cancer for 5 years as a child,allergic to play dough, mustve been such a hard childhood. Then the doctor forced me to try and walk in a boot without any aid after telling my I had a fracture, sprained ankle and tore something in my ankle as well. And after all of this they just sent me on my way feeling worse sbout the whole situation when I came in.
Dr. Krivchenia is great! He always listens and answers questions. He also takes things step-by-step. I love him to death as I doctor! Only one small problem...he comes and goes so fast! He’s in and out in a heartbeat! I usually forget my questions until he’s gone! I try to write down my questions, but sometimes I forget! (Lol) I would definitely recommend Dr. Krivchenia for any Orthopaedic problem you might have!

!BEWARE! Billing department is very very worrying. They will bill you and immediately send you to collections without warning. Then continue to bill you without thoroughly trying to bill your insurance. Ive had this happen to myself and family members. They want money and thats it. Last time I will be going to this place. Very unprofessional.
I really liked dr. Gessel. He came into a room with a smile and a nice handshake. What is very efficient what he was doing and what he was explaining. I felt he was very thorough and checking out my knee.

A one star review is one more than they deserve. For two years, Ive been bone on bone in my right hip, and now the arthritis is so bad at 53, I was using a walker at work and a wheel chair elsewhere. The strategy was dont give me anything to treat the symptoms other than shots, let it drag on as long as possible, see about disability, and hang in there. They seem to have gauged my treatment based on how it fits in with the opiod crisis. Give ya nothing. Do nothing. Let you become an invalid. I now have to take an herbal supplement for pain and mercifully I can walk again.

0 stars if I could. Staff is rude and unorganized. Under the impression they don’t know what they are doing. Tell you one thing and then later say that they never said that.MRI machine does not produce good pictures for proper diagnosis.Nothing but a waste of time & money.
Dr. Nyak and his staff were observant, inquisitive, and helped to reach an accurate and informative diagnosis of my current condition. His advice was reasonable and supportive.
I had my xrays done at Shelby so they were ready at First Settlement when. I got there. Everyone was nice and very helpful.
I go to First Settlement for Knee injections and absolutely LOVE Dr. Angie Miller! She takes her time and makes the shots quick and painless!

Called in middle of Wk was told there get back with me - Very Disappointed and not let me know anything.

Doctors and nurses are nice office protocol about filling out 6 pages of paperwork every year the same information every year is ridiculous but I do it so I can see the doctor I understand to update your information but not fill out the same six pages of the same information is silly for the last 4 years

I sat for two and half hours and ended up GOING home WITH infected incision.Now its either go back to the hospital and set for 8 to ten hours to get another doctor appointed to me.Or JUST take what antibiotics I HAVE and hope it takes the infection away.

2022-06-02The doctor and X-ray techs were great. The wait time in the lobby was long and hard with a toddler. I wish the facility seemed a bit more kid friendly or at least a kid section while we wait. As for patient care the doctor saw us in the room quickly and did good answering any questions or concerns.

2022-08-26The first thing we noticed was a member of staff in black scrubs wearing open toed sandals, highly inappropriate for a medical practice. My husband made an appointment for a second opinion and when the doctor came in he said,” why are you here?”as if he was being inconvenienced. is this how you address all new patients ?Well why did we fill that paperwork out to explain why he wanted to see him. He acted like he could really care less why we were there, or if he even cared to treat him as a patient. If you have enough patients in your practice to cover yourself then why take new patients? He had a very flippant attitude. He will not be a patient here.

2021-03-19First Settlement Orthopedics is a place that I would highly recommend to everybody. Angie and the girls are all so sweet and caring. They spend time with you and discuss any issues you may have. My experience there has been great. Angie has helped me tremendously. She has helped me to get through my issues without surgery so far. All the staff is great. I look forward to seeing them. They feel like family. Love them.❤

2021-11-18The staff has always been helpful and friendly at First Settlement Orthopedics. Dr. Henry is nice, very straight-forward and to the point, which I like in a doctor. I would suggest to anyone to see Dr. Henry, and pretty much have.

2021-08-31I saw Dr. Ada who did not take any time to listen to the concerns that I was having. He acted very egotistical and even made comments about how I “didn’t look like I had “x” medical condition”. He would not listen to any of my medical history, including information that was given to me by other providers. As I would try to tell him about a past injury or medical issue, he would cut me off mid sentence as if he did not care. He acted as if my injury was recent and would only take time to heal even though an ample amount of time was given, hence why I came to see him and was recommended to him by other providers. He told me that he was not going to take a sample to determine an internal infection because he “could tell it wasn’t infected by looking at it”. I was dismissed and told to come back for a follow up in a month. After the visit I accessed records of my chart and saw that he claims to have done several exams such as checking reflexes, examining parts of the body that were not examined, and alternating movements, which were never performed. Overall Dr. Ada did not seem to care about my health and even lied about performing test he never did.

2021-12-16This is a horrible place I spent 7 or more years under the care of Dr. Gessel. I recently received a service dog and when I entered there facilities I was ask for documentation that he was registered. Ada has no choice register so upon explaining that the supervisor would not talk to me. I went over to see if anything had been resolved and received a letter that they would no longer be handling my care

2021-03-12Very professional. Appointment right on time. Professional staff. Dr. Lane and Ms. Eschbaugh (P.A.) and the other technicians/nurses were all excellent. Dr. Lane explained things in great detail and gave me full confidence in his diagnosis and plan for treatment. I cant imagine having a better experience. Its just too bad it took getting injured to see how great this office is!

2021-05-11I have been going to Angie for over 10 years. Angie has always treated my needs with concern and professionalism. Last year my 88 years old mom started seeing Angie and couldnt be happier with Angie. Angie is always up on the latest medical issues. I would recommend Angie to everyone.

2021-07-20I waited in waiting room at least, I got taken to a room after I ask. Im pretty sure forgot about me being. Not one time did staff announce the Dr was behind and offer to wait or reschedule...I was there for a 2nd opinion. After being in the room over 30 minutes.i had to leave. Front desk girls were really didnt seem to care. I need to get this 2nd opinion.
