Famous Daves Bar-B-Que in other cities:
Arrived for a joint Bday dinner treat. There were 3 of us ladies and we were advised that it would be a 15-20 min wait, but we were seated within 10 min. Since I was hungry, I was thankful. Dave, was our waiter and was courteous and patient to answer our questions about menu items, since one member had never been there. We had, salmon, ribs, all you can eat rib tips (me, I told you I was hungry), beans (yummy) coleslaw (just the right mix of creamy and crisp) and of course those melt in your mouth cornbread muffins!Unfortunately, we didnt have room for dessert-we all had eyed the banana pudding. One of us earned the clean plate award and I had rib tips for my late night snack. Will definitely be retuning before my next birthday.
I’ve been a customer of this restaurant for many years. I’ve bragged about the food to family and friends. However, after my latest experience I will NEVER eat here again. I took my family here to celebrate my sons 13th birthday because this was his favorite BBQ spot. Upon arrival the place was empty, the host made it seem as if it were a problem that we had a party of 6 and took about 5 minutes to find a place to seat us in a empty restaurant. Once finally seated the the server introduced herself and she was professional and doing her best. We ordered our food ( which was priced higher than ever before) and waited about 20 minutes. The food was in no way what it had once been in the past. The brisket was dry, the “red skin mashed potatoes” were clearly not red skin, they were from flakes! The fries were under cooked and the Mac n cheese was cold. Everything was cheap and disgusting. Do not waste your money on this over priced low quality food. The management team should be ashamed of what they have allowed this once great restaurant become.
Food was good, but not amazing. The service was excellent though; it was fast, quick, and accurate. The atmosphere is cool but while we were there (Sunday afternoon) the restaurant was pretty empty so it was kind of quiet. I can imagine on a Friday or Saturday night it would be a great spot to swing by!
Wow Wow Wow Wow. What a great place to get hungry and randomly stop in. My Wife and I and traveling nurses so we don’t no much about Cleveland. However the server Tarah was truly a beautiful person. She was super nice to my son. She really made this a great time. We will be back and I’ll be posting this place on all my social media.
Food is good. No burnt ends available they have thr rib tips all you can eat, 20 minutes been waiting for the next plate of 3 oz refill of ribs each refill of rib tips... no refills yet and our waitress is doing something else. Bad service, bad all you can eat service today for us.. dont know how they serve the others but us it was bad. The food is good bur the all you can eat means wait a long time before the next 3 oz plate of refill of ribs come in. The photo is the size of the refill plate. I gave them one star for the server and another for the food. The 3 other stars i didnt give is one for the long time before the food got here, one for my time waisted and the other star was a couple of the people in our party was done before the all you can eat refill got to the table. The photo was the rib refill of The all you can eat.
I took my daughter here today for her pre-birthday dinner party. I heard this was a great place to eat with phenomenal food but unfortunately our experience was just the opposite. As a matter of fact we will not be going back and for the food that was served I feel we should not have had to pay one red cent. Disgusting and awful to say the least. It put me in the mind frame as tho they were trying to poison us. The food had a really weird taste to it. Its kind of hard to explain but it didnt even taste like food. Just horrible......
We ordered delivery for our Valentines dinner. Probably spent over $50 at least. They didnt give the delivery driver our complete order, only burnt ends.We eventually got our order after the delivery service was supposed to send us new food.Famous Daves just sent the rest of our order, which was cold by the time we got it.Not the quality and service I expect from Famous Daves.
Arrived today around 2:00pm. Was our first time back inside a restaurant in 2 years and were so excited to be back at Famous Dave’s. We stood in the front for over 15 minutes waiting to be greeted by ANYONE. No one came. I even looked for a bartender on the side to see if they could get the host/hostess…. And no one was behind the bar. When we finally gave up and left, 4 families walked out with us. Absolutely disappointed.
I was very disappointed to receive my delivery. Everything was ice cold even though the delivery was here in record time and it was a very warm day. The rib meat was very good but unfortunately there was a lot of fat I couldn’t eat. The corn on the cob was waterlogged. The coleslaw was delicious. I will probably try famous Dave’s again or be sure to eat at the restaurant, but I paid an awful lot of money to get a very disappointing meal that was largely inedible.
So I GrubHub there 2 meet platter which arrived hot and promptly however that’s where it stops the five bite-size pieces of sliced brisket that I got is ridiculous tasted OK but five bite-size pieces on two pieces of rock hard bread you couldn’t even bite through the sausage leaves quite a bit to be desired for $32 I was expecting more food and better they definitely have lost a customer. That was the first time and the last time I will have famous Dave’s I’ve eaten barbecue all across the country and this is definitely at the bottom of the list
We walked in and waited for a hostess to seat is. Placed our drinks orders (all waters) and probably waited five plus minutes. Finally got our meal orders taken and when we got them, my order was half right. Wanted garlic potatoes, got fries. As we were eating, we started seeing fruit flies. Not something I really expected especially in winter
The overall experience was OK but could have been a lot better. As often the case, attention to details is what separates good restaurants from mediocre ones. The service was good but the place wasnt busy so its hard to measure it accurately. As someone else commented, the fries were not what was advertised on the menu and the server made no effort to explain the discrepancy. The pulled chicken was not bad but lacked the flavors one tends to associate with BBQ joint offerings.
We visited tonight, Sunday, around 6ish. We had a 20 minute wait, which was to be expected, was seated in the bar area at a booth. Waited 7 minutes for someone to tend to us. We were ready to order when we ordered our drinks. I told the guy I am allergic to the juice the pickle and onions is in so I cant have it even touch my plate and my husband asked just for pickles no onions. I knew it was going to get messed up because he didnt write it down. His plate came out with a couple onions, you knew they put them on there and then realized it and picked them off. I had to ask for ranch dressing, we got wings and rib tips, we also didnt get our corn muffin until I asked for it. They brought out 2 burnt muffins, I asked for different ones, heard the guys say I was being picky and wouldnt eat those. RUDE!!!! I didnt receive any celery but my husband did. The worst part, the fries were the ONLY thing hot. Very disappointed and wont be returning for awhile. It just gets worse every time we visit.
This is the second time I went here for lunch and theyre too slow for me to get in and get back to work within my hour lunch break. The food was okay and the server was friendly. There was another time that I tried to come here for dinner...I booked a reservation online but when I got in there at my reservation time they said it was a 20 minute wait...so I ran over to BJs and got seated there immediately and canceled my reservation. I probably wont be back.
Consistently delicious and always served hot and now! Wait staff is casual and friendly. Drinks are delicious. Unsweet iced tea is great and sweet tea is a little bit like Deep South sweet tea. Cavities while you drink! If you don’t get the burnt ends appetizer, you’ve missed the greatest thing since sauce.Thank the bar-b-que Lord above that they keep an entire roll of paper towels on the table. Dave was brilliant to do that.Do not question it. If you’re hungry GO THERE. They have the cure.
I was in the area working . We decided to lunch and wanted some barbecue. This was the closest place and saw good reviews. Looked at the menu and saw their daily specials ,it was friday so we ordered the Southside Rib Tips Til Payday Friday . I believe its 5 pounds of rib tips with the fried wedges included and a side salad . Well cant say much for the salad I mean its a bbq place . But the friday special was a mistake because its not really a meal is more like a appetizer for a group of people . They were kind of dry ,looked like they were fried or sauteed on oil and had to work to get the meat off the rib tips .as for the service it was great .ordered online got there in 20 min and my order was ready . Next time I will get some full slabs and will see
Took them 20 minutes to seat me waiter took 20 minutes to ask for my drink by that time I ordered my food and drink together didn’t receive my first drink for 30 minutes and it took them a hour and ten minutes to bring my food and when it got to me it was cold and the place wasn’t even busy terrible service!!!
My favorite place for BBQ in the west side. Sometimes they can make mistakes but 9 times out of 10 your experience turns out to be great. Friendly staff, clean and neat place. Brunt ends are amazing but too expensive and the portion is too small. Excellent sauces and great baby back ribs. Chicken could be a little tastier but its not bad either overall. My wife loves their mac n cheese and the beans are very good too. Id give this place 4.5 if I could. Definitely worth a try!
The beef tieps melted in my mouth and had amazing flavor. The fries are the perfect blend of steak and crinkle. The price tag seemed a bit expensive until the food actually came out. This sandwich was overflowing with perfectly cooked deliciousness. I could only eat half and I tried!
I was in town for business and coming from the BBQ capital of Texas my expectations weren’t set too high for a BBQ place that’s not in Texas. This BBQ made it feel just like home. Slowed cooked tender meat with great smoky flavor and tasty bbq sauce. Famous Dave’s will definitely be in my top 10 BBQ places to go. Thanks for the great food and thanks to famous Steph for the awesome service.
Got the Feast for 2 and it was stupedous!! The brisket was the best cut I have had. It was marblized and extremely tender. The famous ribs we great and they had 3 bbq sauces to choose from. One of the few places that i have found in the area that serves collard greens.
Sat at the and ordered dinner. Staff was amazing and the bar was clean. Food however was not good for the price. Got the brisket. No fat cap on it which would explain why it was over cooked and dry. Bummer. Daughter ordered the ribs and pulled pork which were very good. Pork was juicy and tender. Just a bummer about the brisket.
OMG!! We decided to stop in for Fathers Day Brunch and I am so glad we did!! Everything was delicious! The place was PACKED of course, and we only had to wait 15 minutes. The Food? oh my gosh so so good!! every single thing was hot, delicious and huge portions. We got the family feast, and feast it was! Pictured is all the food we got~ served family style on a trash can lid! Loved it. My first time ever trying brisket and it was so tender & amazing !!! Even the drinks were good, constantly refilled and ice cold as it was 98° out. There were 4 of us and we all stuffed ourselves and had enough left overs for 2 more meals! Highly recommend !!!
Went there on Jan 2 got a dinner platter to go. When we went to dig in the chicken was raw. I camplained on jan 2, jan12 and jan22 Each time an automated answer. NO one even called I have the pictures of the chicken (that we ended up throwing away) Reall poor costumer relations at the BBQHOLDINGS
Had the boneless buffalo wings for appetizer, one of the best Ive tried. The waitress was kind and noticed I needed a refill right away, the food came fast, I really loved the different bbq sauces. The scenery was okay a little dim and the theme could use some real western feel to it but once you try the food you forget about all of that lol
This has to be the best BBQ in the state of Ohio. With its selection of sauces, great meats from chicken to ribs, even the sides are fantastic. This has easily become one of my absolute favorite restaurants. This is the only restaurant where Ive eaten at multiple times and have been delighted every time. Ive never had a bad experience here. Its not just the food, either. The wait staff and management that walk around always have a smile on their face, and they make sure everything is up to par. Your glass will never go empty with the best sweet tea in Ohio, they keep you filled up!
Was alone, so I sat at the bar. It was on a Saturday evening, and it was pretty busy. I waited about a half an hour after I ordered for my food. That wasnt great. But the food was excellent. Catfish fingers were great. The signs of greens and garlic red skin mashed potatoes were good. Service was awesome!
Famous Daves was not our cup of tea. The meat was tough and the sauce was gross. The training waitress was good, but the head waitress i could tell was getting tired of our requests. The drink I had was good though. Once the food got to us it was semi warm. It just wasnt up to par for any of us. I fave them 2 stars because of my drink.
Service was lightning fast and friendly ribs chicken and sides, mashed potatoes and corn was all beyond delicious st louis style ribs were tender & smokey sauce was outstanding just now finding out about this place my family loved it also great job famous daves cant wait to try other suff on your menu we will be longtime customers hard to find good ribs these days this place know how to bbq,
We went in around 130 on a Friday the restaurant was fairly empty as far as we could tell, We were seared in the middle section. We ordered waters and the burnt end app. Then didn’t see our server again until she came to get another’s table order that was seated some time after us. We finally were able to put in the rest of our order which was the lunch 2 meat combo. My girl had the ribs and chicken and I had the sausage and fish fingers. About 10 minutes after that our burnt ends showed up and I’m pretty sure it was slightly blackened hunks of ham. Incredibly unimpressed. Thee were an unimpressive 7 pieces for this $12 app. When the food came there was maybe a good bite of meat off each rib the chicken looked at tasted like gas station rotisserie chicken. The sausage was ok but the fish fingers were pretty good. The highlight of this visit was the sides my greens and her broccoli were amazing!!! Will never come back
I went in celebration of my Aunts birthday 3/16/19. We had a party of 9. We eventually were seated after my Aunt became frustrated after sitting for an hour and watching big parties leave and others get seated that came after us. I suggest they use the light devices like Olive Garden to let people know they are ready to be seated. They proclaimed to have called my Aunts name twice and texted her phone. However, I was sitting on the other side of the business card grill, which is next to the hostess stand. Therefore, if my Aunt didnt hear her name I would have and yes, she has a easy common name. After being seated we placed our orders. I thought I was getting an order of traditional buffalo wings with 2 sides a corn muffin and I ordered a loaded potato as an extra side. Well, waiter indicated he was busy and it was noticeably because he didnt ask me for my two side dishes, after I ordered the potato. I didnt realize I was supposed to get two sides until after he left the table. However, he should have asked to make sure I didnt want them. He didnt check on our table. He was flagged down for more water. My food was cold. I could tell by the cheese not being melted when I got my potato. The wings were lukewarm and not buffalo hot. I dont understand why these restaurants dont understand that buffalo should be somewhat spicy. When I use Franks red hot sauce at home to make buffalo wings my nose runs a little. I assumed I didnt receive a full order of wings because I was charged 10.99 instead of 13.99 or maybe it was because he forgot my two sides and muffin. My Aunt, Uncles and Cousins still gave him a nice size tip with his poor service. I brought some wings home with the Wilbur sauce and the devils spit sauce. I tasted each sauce this morning and next time Ill get a better spicy taste with a different sauce. My other Aunt said this time the food was better than the last time she came, so Ill give it another go and share that trip.
Not as good as the Minneapolis original, but passable, and open for lunch, despite a very sparse crowd. I always wish there were more combos with Beef Brisket available as Im always chickened out from home meals. The sweetly dressed coleslaw was just what the chef ordered for the spicy Bar-B-Que sauces.
I hadn’t been here since it first opened so I decided to order to go. I got the beef brisket and rib tips. The brisket was just ok with no intense BBQ flavor. The rib tips were dry and lacking flavor too. The bbq sauce was really off putting so I was glad I had some sauce in the fridge from another bbq takeout restaurant. The cole slaw was good.
Another one that my grandkids love. There is never a complaint. The food is so good, having 3 BBQ sauces to choose from always leads to discussing what flavor is their favorite. I dont know why but the decor is fascinating to them as well. They think I must be 100 years old since I can identify all the brand names.
We had about a fifteen minute wait because they were a little short staffed. Thats pretty common lately and wasnt an issue. The ladies bathroom was gross. It smelled awful because a mess was left in one of the stalls. Only one sink was working properly. The staff was very friendly. Despite being short handed everyone was polite and attentive. The food was a mixed bag. We ordered the catfish and rib tip appetizers. Both of them were very good. My husbands smokin tea, their version of a long island, didnt taste very good. I suspect it may be that they used Pepsi instead of Coke as a mixer. The entrees were fine except my brisket was awful. It somehow managed to be both tough and fatty. Our bill was discounted to compensate for the uneatable brisket. I think what staff they had were trying their best but this location has definitely declined in the past two years.
Food was room temperature and very bland. The server was very nice. The wait was 25 minutes with no other people waiting and nearly all tables were open. The ladies room smelled like urine, needed cleaned and is just in bad shape desperately needs updating. This place doesnt have anything on Uncle Bos in Elyria and the only reason we came was because Uncle Bos closed for the weekend to allow staff to spend time with family for Thanksgiving weekend. Will not be returning.
Food was excellent, hands down the best bbq around. Seems a little steep on the price for what you get, but I guess thats to be expected wherever you go these days. Had to wait a half hour to be seated even though the place was not even at half capacity. They said it was because they were waiting on the next crew to start their shift. Guess thats to be expected as well right now, seeing as a lot of businesses are scrambling to find people to work. All in all, recommended 👍
Everything has good flavor but we ordered the meal for two to three people it has chicken ribs and your choice of pulled pork, brisket or sausage. We chose the pulled pork. It was good. The ribs on the other hand were very dry. The first time I ate here about 8 years ago it tasted way better.
First time and last time.If I was to pick a word to describe my meal it would be *Dry*. I got the Two Meat Combo; Brisket and Chicken with Mash Potato and Mac n Cheese. The brisket was very dry to the point the only moisture was from the light bbq applied to it. Served over what was once bread but, had likely sat around for so long it required a knife to cut unless you wanted a broken tooth. The chicken was also very dry and the skin was more like rubber. All served on a metal tray and a thin piece of easily tearing paper which would cause me to pick pieces of it out of my food if I used my knife at all. The price wasnt even suitable- I couldve gotten a nice steak dinner elsewhere for far cheaper. I wouldnt recommend eating here to anyone.
Had a bunch of tables open but made us wait 45 minutes to be seated and then made our large party sit separate (not because of covid) because they claimed there were not tables large enough for us. There were not very many appealing options on the menu, drinks were the same and food was not great, Save your money and go to a local BBQ place.. Our server was amazing though, she was the only reason we stayed!
For fathers day, we wanted to have a family meal. There was a 30 minute wait even though there were many open tables. After over 30 minutes, they escorted us to 4 person booth which we had to squeeze 5 people into... Our kids are 15, 16 & 23! They had some larger tables, but they were saving the larger tables for a party, even though the party wasnt even there. They wouldnt even add a chair. So if youre looking for a family meal and have more than 4, you should look elsewhere!Update: The larger table was finally filled 40 minutes after we were seated and when we were done with our cramped meal! Unbelievable!
Food was great! But the service could have been better, asked for a side of ranch took 15 minutes to get, my son asked for a refill that he never received. Took 20 minutes for boxes for our left overs, another 15 minutes for our bread pudding. Wait was horrible, should not be waiting 15+ for box or side of ranch when your not busy. Also your restroom is disgusting, multiple complaints on here of the womens room but was still gross today. You could smell the bathroom before you even walked in. Huge mess in one of the stalls. Smells like raw sewage in there. You should probably get that looked at.
Do NOT go there! This was a carry out. St. Lous ribs tough, undercooked and not even enough sauce. Horrible. What is going on?! I will never go back. The fries undercooked and soft and mushy. I threw the full slab in the garbage and that’s $29 down the drain. I AM FURIOUS as I did not get what I paid for.
I can only give one star, but I will never return! Every. Single. Time there’s a problem! Attitude‘s from servers, incorrect orders, and just bad service! We gave them another chance after my grandmas funeral bc she liked their food and it was unanimous: No more Famous Dave’s!!!!
Famous Dave’s Brisket was cooked well, tasted savory, but was suffering from not having enough wait staff. Though the poor lady working our area was very nice she had too many tables and couldn’t provide the best service because she was overwhelmed. Please be patient because the food is worth the wait. I will definitely return.
Took my son there for his birthday. We had a party of 5. Everyone was satisfied with their meal. That doesnt happen very often. We ordered a sampling platter. What a great way to try a variety of what they had. We are divided on our favorites. Ribs or brisket, either way it was all delicious.
Oh My! This BBQ joint was amazing!!!! Try the feast to two (or 3 or 4 depending on your appetite!), Imagine them bringing you a trash can lid filled with ribs, chicken, pork or brisket, slaw, beans and the sweetest corn bread muffins you will ever taste! Awesome food and service!
Great morning to all, how are you beautiful, smart, intelligent people. Well their barbecue ribs, smoked brisket chicken their platers for 2 and 4 to 6 persons were superb. Please take family, friends loved ones. Jacob was a great server always asking is everything alright. The ladies in the front fast and efficient. No reservations needed. Thank you so much great food service. Well done....
I’ve been here a few times in the last few weeks. Nobody is ever at the desk to greet you when you walk in. The server came to the host stand and basically said he didn’t want to take care of our party, that the host should’ve chose the next server in line. He still ended up being the one to serve us. We waiter long for refills. The food was great and so were the drinks from the bar but the customer service and the filthy restrooms are unacceptable and ruin the entire experience. I don’t think I’ll be coming back unless it’s for take out. I’ve worked in restaurants before and to have a server be so unpleasant and not even introduce himself was unbelievable.
Placed a To-Go order 6 days ahead. The day I was to pick up the order, I was going to be delayed picking it up. I called ahead to let them know and staff rescheduled the time with no issue! When I came to pick up the order, there was a separate area to pick up To-Go orders from the dine in. My food was hot, and packaged well. Staff was very nice! My food was prepared just as I ordered and was very good! I appreciate everything that they do!
I hate to say I was disappointed but...The ribs just werent as good as they were last time we were there. They were dry and chewy. Not much flavor so BBQ sauce did its best. The sides were just fine. The service was good as well.Overall...disappointing is my opinion.I think if those ribs had been simmered longer so they were more tender and falling off the bone and seasoned while they simmered... might have been better... but this time was disappointing. It will likely be a whole before we go back.
This place is amazing. We got the feast for 2. When they say feast, they mean it. From ribs, to chicken, to pulled pork, this platter had it all. The sides consisted of corn on the cob, coleslaw, baked beans, and cornbread muffins. I was stuffed to the point of not being able to breathe. My girlfriend said it is a franchise. I hope they build one near Syracuse
The food is pretty good but they literally cannot for the life of them remember to give us the bread pudding dessert that we order. We have gone twice in the last month and have yet to received the bread pudding we paid for... Last time they gave us a banana pudding instead which my husband hates... and this time they completely forgot the banana pudding. Its a bit frustrating to say the least. Remember to check your bags before you drive off, especially if youve ordered the bread pudding.
Used to be so good. Been coming here for years and it has really gone downhill lately. Tonight was the worst. They got rid of the great Veterans Day specials they used to have and the service was terrible. Ordered a couple ribs on the side just to have some and they were all bone. Very rude staff who acted like serving us was a burden. Gonna stay away for a while. Would have been one star if based just on tonight.
Disappointed. We ordered the feast for 2. The margarita was weak, though smoked iced tea my wife had was good. The meat was good in meal however our server Jen who was nice didnt bring sauce. Our beans, garlic mashed potatoes were cold so asked if she would heat them? She said yes and never came back.Another server had to get us out to go containers. We have had good experiences there in past so just isolated incident Im sure.
Called to place a Togo order and was on hold FOREVER after the automated prompts. A human finally came to the phone, only to tell me to continue holding. The icing on the cake came when someone finally came back to the phone, only to tell me, they can’t take anymore orders!?!?! Huh!?!!! This was at 6pm on Sunday and they close at 9pm!!! He could’ve told me that when he came to the phone and asked me to continue holding!!! Wasted 25 minutes of my time!!! NEVER AGAIN!😡
Food was below average. Been coming there for years but was disappointed this time. Plus it was dirty. Womens restroom had problems with one of the stalls and they just left dirty smelly mop up against wall. Had to hold my breath the whole time I was in there. Only positive was the barmaid who waited on us.
This is my second time going here. The food was great. I had the catfish fingers and rib tips. Both were good but next time I will just get the catfish fingers. They were excellent. All of the sauces are tasty. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table (we went Saturday Dec 22 so it was crowded) the wait wasnt bad. Our server was excellent. I think her name was Brittany. Highly recommend
When you go to a BBQ place you should get BBQ but I only went for my husband because he loves BBQ. I got the breaded Catfish Fingers with FF & coleslaw. The coleslaw was excellent, personally I think the best place to get coleslaw is a BBQ joint, and the catfish was cooked beautifully. My husband got the Briskett and gave it a 7.5 out of 10 so Id say pretty good. They were very Covid prepared and very friendly. For 2 of us the bill with a 25% tip was $50 & we had no alcohol, appetizers or dessert so it was a little pricey. All in all it was a good meal and a good atmosphere.
Food was good, but I was expecting more meat in my meal. I ordered a 2 meat meal that came with 2 small sides and a corn muffin. Each meat selection was just on a small slice of bread... Paid $16. I would possibly go back to try something different, only if Im in the area. Money wasnt the issue, it was the amount of food given for the money. Very small portions.
On 2-28-21 we decided to try Famous Daves! All of our friends who live in Elyria rave about it, so we wanted to give it a try! See we live in Canton Ohio and our Son and Daughter in law were both off of work so we drove an hour and a half to North Olmsted. After checking the website for hours of operation we arrived at 6:15. When we walked in and approached the hostess, she asked how many? I stated 4, she then tells us that they couldnt accommodate us that they stopped serving for the day, even though the website clearly states 8pm. I told her we just drove an hour and a half she said well maybe next time you should come earlier. With disappointment a gentleman who was walking pass heard our dilemma and offered us to sit at their table with him and his wife the hostess in a not so frindly attitude said no absolutely not you cant do that! We wouldnt have sat with the couple , but how rude. There has to be a better way of letting the public know that you stop serving guests, Famous Dave may not care about our disappointment, nor our gas money to drive all that way to just eat at a normal chain restaurant, but we do!
Service was lacking. 1 glass of tea no refill. Server would walk by quickly and ask how the food was but not wait for a answer. Brisket was mush. Ribs were rubbery. Chicken and beans were good. Found a hair in my food. Have a picture for proof. Sad because famous Daves is one of my most favorite chains.
Honestly our server was great, so was the cornbread, and bbq sauce but i was so disappointed that the barbeque chicken had no mention of it being chicken thighs, dark meat, which I dont like. Maybe it was my mistake for assuming it was like a chicken breast or something. But we paid $14 for me to eat corn muffins and fries. So i left disappointed. I feel like the menu should have a more accurate description of what youll be eating. Normally I have the 1/2 chicken which is great, I guess thats what I get for trying something new.
Tasted more like microwaved food than actual BBQ. Chicken was tough, burnt ends were not warm at all, salad was cheap, sides were ok. They had a girl with what I assume was a bad case of parkinsons bring our drinks out, which spilled all over the floor and our table. She brought some napkins for US to clean our table with. Not mad at her; frustrated with whoever is in charge that thought that was a good idea. The plus side was out waitress, who managed to get most of our food off the bill, due to how inedible it was. But I guess thats what I get for trying to eat BBQ in ohio.
Restaurant was clean. Workers were friendly. Had good menu. Server must have been new. was not organized when taking our orders and was not familiar with menu. She did make sure that all our orders were correct before leaving for the kitchen. It took over a half hour to get our food and our portions were small. It took awhile to get our check s. Our overall stay for lunch was an hour and 45 minutes. Too long when you have to get back to work. There were 10 people in our party. Taste of our food was good.
We ordered over $200 from famous Daves in North olmsted at 1:30 in the after noon they confirmed order delivery by 6:00 pm. At 5:47 we recieved an email that our order was cancelled!! We had the whole family over to get bbq for fathers day and were totally screwed by Famous Daves!! We need up ordering from City bbq. Screw you famous Daves. Cant believe that you are that inconsiderate and rude. We will totally enjoy our city bbq and will not be ordering from you ever!!! You suck!!
This place is so good. I had never been to a Famous Daves before this since there arent many around, but man do they know how to do barbecue. Fantastic drink menu as well.Edit: After the last time I went here, Im going to have to deduct a star. My ribs were fine, but my mom got the brisket which she said was basically nothing but fat and was the worst she ever had. Fortunately, they were willing to take the brisket back and replace it with ribs at no extra cost.
Food was good but the service was kinda slow and there wasnt many customers, so I just thought it could have been a little faster spent my whole lunch break waiting for the food to come to our table.. other then that it was a Great place again loved the food really really good!!
My order was a Togo order and I always find it impressive when I can pick up, drive, and eat my food without any of it being soggy. I can happily say my order was the same quality I would expect if I sat down inside the restaurant and ate it. I ordered ribs, fries and macaroni and cheese and all three were delicious. Service at the Togo counter was very friendly as well! Worth giving a try if you have a BBQ craving!
Famous Daves is my home for Bar-B-Que. All others fall short in my opinion. The fact that my family and I can sit down and be waited on by happy, ready waiters, is a huge difference from other places. When Ive gone to other establishments, you have to know what you want as soon as you get to the counter. Now call me crazy but if Im coming there for the first time, I dont know what you have. That may be old fashion thinking but you aint gonna get a tip from me if youre just behind a counter with an attitude. Theres nothing like going to a place thats well themed and friendly. Thats Famous Daves.
First off, Ill start by saying that I went here years ago. Maybe around the time they first opened and I didnt like it. I recently returned with a large group and now I changed my mind. I really enjoyed it. I ordered the pulled pork. It was tender and I liked the choice of sauces at the table. On the side I had fries and corn on the cob. Took bread pudding home for dessert. I was delicious. I would definitely go back again.
WHILE I LIVED IN MICHIGAN I CAME TO LOVE FAMOUS DAVES AS THEY HAD FOUR RESTAURANTS NEAR BY! I USED TO FREQUENT THEM QUITE OFTEN! I MISSED THEM ALOT SINCE I MOVED BACK TO MY HOME STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA SINCE THEY DONT HAVE ONE HERE! MY BEST FRIEND AND I WENT TO VISIT THE ROCK-N-ROLL HALL OF FAME IN CLEVELAND ON 10/20/2021 AND AFTER OUR VISIT WE TOOK THE HALF HOUR DRIVE TO THE FAMOUS DAVES IN WEST OLMSTED,OHIO! IT HAS BEEN PROBABLY OVER EIGHT YEARS SINCE MY MOVE BACK TO PA. AND COULD NOT WAIT TO DIG IN TO THEIR GREAT FOOD! I WILL HAVE TO SAY THAT THEY DID NOT SKIP A BEAT AS THE FOOD WAS AS GOOD AS EVER! WE BOTH GOT THE HALF RACK OF RIBS AND THEY WERE GREAT! THE PLACE WAS NOT CROWDED SNCE WE GOT THERE AROUND 2PM. I WANT TO THANK THE WEST OLMSTED, OHIO FAMOUS DAVES FOR THE GREAT SERVICE AND AS ALWAYS THE GREAT TASTING FOOD! IT IS WORTH THE TWO HOUR DRIVE FROM PENNSYLVANIA TO EAT HERE! I WILL BE BACK! IF NONE OF YOU PEOPLE EVER ATE AT A FAMOUS DAVES YOU ARE MISSING ONE OF THE GREAT DINING EXPERIENCES EVER!! THANKS---LARRY!
Excellent food, dependable service. Famous Daves is so easy to deal with and their food is so yummy. I ordered ribs, brisket, mac-n-cheese, mashed potatoes and beans. My workplace absolutely loved it. I loved that I didnt have to worry about anything once the order was placed.
WONDERFUL! Famous Daves catered our wedding a few weeks ago and they were outstanding! All of my guests could not stop talking about how great the food was. So many people went up for seconds. The servers set everything up and cleaned everything up before they left. They stayed on top of the buffet and never let a pan go empty. I have been to weddings where you have to wait for them to replenish the food and then the line gets held up or never get a chance to try it. That did not happen. Like I said most of my quests were able to enjoy a second helping. The entire process has been smooth from communicating with the catering coordinators to making sure we get leftovers at the end of the event. They truly are wonderful company to work with and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Famous Daves to cater your next event!
My order was delivered and one dinner had NO MEAT! NONE! just a slice of bread with nothing on it. Dinner #2 had baked beans dumped all over the entire meal, just picture, french fries and a few chunks of pork swimming in cold, runny baked beans...yum NOT! Needless to say we did not eat. I called FamousDaves , spoke to the manager, he was rude and tried to blame UberEats insisting the driver is at fault, more like insisting the driver ate our food and refused me a refund. I WILL NEVER, EVER ORDER FAMOUS DAVES AGAIN Oh FYI the driver recognized our name and remembered my daughter from middle school.
Our server, Denise, was really good this evening. Food is always great - no matter what we order! Chicken, pork, or beef is awesome! One complaint though is the restroom condition. Ladies room is dirty, my shoes always stick to the floor as I walk across it, and toilet tissue is everywhere. I realize that restroom cleanliness is not their highest priority, but maybe it needs to move up the list.
Famous Daves is tasty, no denying that. Particularly for a chain restaurant, certain items are really good. We have ordered takeout from them recently and had a good experience. The staff is always friendly and the food has been ready around the scheduled pickup time.Last time, I got the hot link sausage for the first time and it was GOOD!! However, their traditional wings are nothing to write home about. They dont have a dry rub option and the sauce options are just their typical BBQ sauces that you can get on anything.

2022-04-30This place is so good! My family loves their barbecue food! I usually get the chicken, but tonight I got the brisket! Everything is so tasty! The brisket was very tender! The mashed potatoes are like homemade! I tried the collards and they were also very good! There’s also several types of barbecue sauces you can try which is fun! The desserts look good, but we didn’t have any room! They know carry pies from Bakers Square! There’s banana pudding and bread pudding! ❤️

2022-01-23Went out to eat with 2 other couples and had a great evening. Had no problem being seated and had a very good waitress named Heaven. Even though she seemed to be swamped with tables she stayed on top of our refills and our table. Kudos 👏

2022-04-02Ordered the all American bbq feastTo feed our familyOf 8 and have ordered it about 3 times before over the years. Hair/fiber/some kind of residue all over meat. One employee pretended to be a manager (completely different male voice) and put us on hold for 35 mins and then I called from another phone and manager was put on said his name is Steve and said come in tomorrow I’ll give youYour money back. My boyfriend who was on hold for 35+mins finally had his line picked up after I hung up with “steve” the manager and the guy said he was the manager and his name was “famous chad”. Laughed when I told my boyfriend that was the same voice of “steve” I just talked to. Reported them to health department and will never eat there again!! Will be driving the 30 mins tomorrow to return their food to them and make sure I get my money back!!

2022-04-12Food was great. Our slab of ribs came out fresh and hot. Our waitress Jen was amazing (Thanks, Jen!). She worked very hard to keep us happy and satisfied with our meal. Unfortunately, there was a table nearby who were treating her badly, complaining about everything from the food to the bill. Despite this, she maintained a cheerful disposition and continued to provide excellent service. Hopefully, other customers learn to be more accommodating of restaurants that are short-staffed, especially at places like this where the value is incredible.

2022-06-276/26/22 - Its been awhile since we have been here and was pleasantly surprised by some of the changes. This location now serves fried chicken ad it was delicious. The ribs were tender and juicy as well. Our server was fabulous. Desirae made a few suggestions that were on point. She saw how much I enjoyed the chicken and when i asked about getting a few additional pieces she was all over it. She was fun to talk to and made sure we wanted for nothing. Great time!

2022-05-06What the hell has happened? I have been long standing customer of this restaurant, and I can’t believe what has happened to the food. I understand the pandemic happened, I understand that a lot of restaurants were hit hard financially. The menu a Famous Dave’s has been cut, popular items as the baby back ribs removed, the drink menu , is pretty much non existent except for beers. The food, I thought Famous Dave’s prides itself on freshness and flavor of their food, but I guess they have chosen profits over quality of food. I was served over cooked ribs and ribs that looked undercooked and wrapped with sauce. Like come on I’m a bbq foodie and this was disappointing. The appetizer, catfish fingers tasted like frozen fish and overcooked. When I looked at my meal and say the best thing on it was the coleslaw, that’s a problem. A placed I loved so much feels like it’s on its last leg and tapping out, closing. The lines , the wait times use to be crazy here, 30-45 minute waits, I walked right in on a Friday evening around 630 and got a table instantly, I was shocked!!! Service was good , food was horrible. Thanks Heaven, shout out to you!!!!
