The staff was really nice..my 8 yr old son was having a melt down over going in the elevator and the staff was very understanding and helpful about it. The room was pretty clean with the exception of a dirty q tip on the floor. We were really disappointed that the pool was closed. They said due to maintenance. It was the whole reason we chose that hotel. Breakfast was good..they kept it well stocked so everyone would have plenty. All in all i would stay here again. Mostly because of the staff.
After a 11 hr ride, I was greeted by Hope, who was all smiles & positivity!! Explained a mishap with rooms but the result was acceptable. The rooms were clean, furniture a tad worn but understandable, the beds.... so comfortable!!!! Wanted to sit outside but no seating until I learned about back patio in the am, wonderful!! I watched Hope, help everyone she could, running to rooms to help or explaining things on phone. Very nice to see such professionalism and sweetness in her.Next am, met Ms. Diane, for breakfast, wonderful personality, smile and eager to help everyone. Understanding with covid no hot food, but she made everyone feel welcome and they were all important and number 1 with her time.On our morning out, we had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Pat ( or Pam sorry if wrong) the hotel Mgr. Again what a darling!! All about meeting us, getting to know us, how our stay was, anything she could do for us, even though we were checking out. We came to Avon for a wedding, I will say, the hotel, staff and grounds were ALL wonderful. We had 6 rooms total with all the family members who came.Thank you Fairfield Marriott of Avon, Ohio for everything ❤ Ages 1 to 89 yo
Hope at the night time front desk was warm and welcoming and made sure we knew about all the amenties. The room was a suite and fantastic. The room was very clean without any of the awful chemical cleaner smell that gives me headaches. Breakfast grab and go and coffee was way above average and the staff was friendly--so much so that we went back after leaving to tell the manager.
My significant other and I enjoyed our stay here, which was greatly due to the excellent customer service that was provided my front desk staff, specifically Stacey. She was awesome and nice to work with. Requested accommodations were made and needs were addressed for us to have a pleasant and relaxing staycation! The location and hotel rates were perfect.
Inside, no complaints. The pool was closed but we would not have used it. Front desk and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. 24/7 coffee was appreciated. Room was clean and adequately roomy. The patio out back was a comfortable area to sit outside. But the grounds need some TLC. Weeds were 3-4 feet tall. Piles of dirt in the front lawn had definitely been there for a while because weeds were growing all over them. The price was a little high compared to other facilities.
The rate changed when I arrived even when I booked early, the carpets were soaked on the bottom floor without any warning signs, they tried to put my caretaker and I in a king bedroom one bed, until I said it was explained that I needed two beds, the room wasnt cleaned or supplied with trash liners I had to ask for fresh linens. The worst was the toilet ran n ran wouldnt flush unless we held the handle down and the second story unit above our bathroom toilet overflowed on top of me and filled the light fixture, smelled horrible. They didnt have another room on the fist floor that was handicap accessible to move us to. No daily maid service they were short staffed in maintenance and maid service employees. Refused to discount my 10 day stay even when contacted corporate Marriott!Run away from this poorly managed hotel!!!!!
The person who checked us in was extremely rude. I have never dealt with someone more rude at a hotel. I mean he saw that I was wearing a wedding dress. He could have pretended to at least be nice. The curtains were practically see through and so it made it difficult to sleep. We were not informed that the pool would not be filled. I know it was probably due to covid, but it would have been nice to at least been told before hand. The woman who checked us out was nice, although we waited several minutes wondering where anyone was in order to check out because she didnt even leave a sign when she wasnt behind the desk. The bed was extremely comfortable. The set up of the room and bathroom was great.
This hotel was not worth the price they charged. We were expecting this to be the nicest hotel in our trip through Ohio but it was close to the bottom. We will look for another hotel if we travel back through Ohio. When entering the room there was a slight musty smell. The pool was emptied and being repaired which you saw very little repairing being done. The staff was not the most attentive. We could not get our receipt at checkout because the front desk clerk was outside talking to another worker. We had to get it through email. The breakfast bar was one of the worst I have seen. It consisted of a blocked off area were guests were not allowed to help themselves. They only had danishes, yogurt, apples, and juice. The one day of our stay they did say they had hot sandwiches that they had hidden in another room. The mattresses had sunk in spots. The room was okay as far as cleaning but nothing exceptional. The front end area had dust on the ledges which my husband finally wiped off before we left the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel due to the high cost. Not worth it.
Called for a room at 12:20 and got one. The lady at the desk (I think Pam) was the day manager and was working the night shift due to a worker calling off. She was still in a very good mood and gave me a discount. The room was clean and the shower was very nice. The breakfast was a COVID bag to go. Can’t put them down for this because a lot of motels are doing this.
I think Mr. Mariott would roll over in his grave if he saw the condition of this hotel. I would not call this a hotel in the shape its in. I would consider it a low-class motel. Where do I start? We have always stayed in a Mariott but this is, by far, the worst we have ever experienced. It seems the owner doesnt want to put money back into the motel for renovations and repairs but is more than happy to reap the benefits. The light fixtures in the hallways are broken. The bifold door in the room fell off the hinges. Housekeeping is sparse and due to Covid, will not clean the room until we leave. We were there for six nights. WE NEEDED HOUSEEPING! There were holes in the wall where the ironing board should have been hanging. The floor in the bathroom had footprints on the floor - very dirty! They ran out of towels. The pool was out of order. Staying six nights is rough without a pool, especially with children. On the only plus side, the staff were extremely kind and helpful. When we saw housekeepers, they were very accommodating to provide toilet paper, towels and trash bags so we could empty our trash - six nights!!! We felt very sorry for the staff. They worked extremely hard for a boss who could care less about his/her motel. PUT SOME $$ back into your establishment and your employees.
I stayed for almost 2 weeks while working in town. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Props to Stacy and her cohort in crime. The rooms were clean as expected, but actually a little nicer than expected. I gave 4 stars because the sink was clogged, and I mean clogged! After that was taken care of I could smell the drain, but only if running water. So aside from a little needed maintenance, it was a great stay, and I would definitely stay there again.
We booked this hotel last minute while passing through the area. Staff very pleasant (Stacy was great), rooms clean, bed comfy and they offered a great grab and go breakfast in the morning. Plenty of options for everyone until things can open up again. Easy to find from the freeway and plenty of room to park our Suburban and UHaul trailer.
We stay because it is close to my moms house. The hotel is looking tired. We come once a month and the last two visits the room has looked tired and rough. The bathroom shower door kept sliding open on this visit. The A/C fan is noisy and rumbles. The walls are marked up and need a wash. The to go breakfast is nice. The front desk staff are nice. Its not my favorite of all the Marriott hotels I have stayed at but it is convenient.
I live in Geauga county, so Fairfield was my choice for a family wedding in Avon. Conveniently located next to the highway, and the wedding venue was 2.5 miles down the road. The staff was able to accommodate us, by giving us 4 rooms on the same floor, close together. Was a little disappointed that the pool was closed for repair, as we were also celebrating my granddaughters birthday, but just having the hotel experience was fun for her. Bed was very comfortable, room was clean. Will stay again if the need arises
Facility is lacking in staff who care and pride in job. Numerous issues to include wrong room assigned and was occupied already! After getting re-assigned room, RM 228 had fleas and was getting bitten so much...I left and requested a third room! BTW.....so mis- managed that clocks were still one hour behind for fall forward effort!!! Do NOT RECOMMEND
Positive: Hotel was clean and the staff was awesome. The young lady at the front desk worked all three days we were there, seemingly day and night. Throughout, she couldn¿t have been more pleasant and attentive. Negative: I¿ll be happy when Fairfield gets back to their hot breakfasts.
One of my close friends got married this weekend at a venue near the Fairmont in Avon. We had the best visit from MD to Cleveland with this location. The staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. The room was clean and exactly what we expected. We were able to all gather in the brides room the day before the wedding. The hotel market had essentials that you may have left at home and needed on the fly or just snacks. Also, the check-in and check-out process were seamless. It is only about 10 minutes from Walmart and 30-45 minutes from Downtown and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Truly, one of the best hotel experiences Ive had.
Friendly staff for the most part, had a small scenario at the end of my stay and wasnt to happy with the outcome. All other staff I dealt with were amazing though. Enjoyed my time here, wouldnt say its a bad hotel, just average. Has good hot water and water pressure which is always a must for me. Rooms could be updated a bit but a lot better than other places Ive stayed for sure. The big towels I had in my room had a lot of spots on them, which seems to be common nowadays. I always bring my own for this reason. I would stay here again
My heart goes out to those who perceive this hotel as peak luxury, because this hotel at most is only considered luxurious by the roaches that infest it. I wouldn’t be so disturbed by this hotel have the prices truly reflected the value of the quality of the rooms. I’ve seen pools greater and cleaned at YMCA, and cleaner bedding At the local thrift.
Pool was not in service due to a leak and under repair. Had to move to another suite because the thermostat was ripped out. No hot breakfast was available. No maid service. We had to get our towels each day and they just piled up under our bathroom sink. And we were still charged the full rate!!! Not what you would expect from a Marriott property.
Although we thought it was likely to stay somewhere overnight,, It was a last minute decision to stay at Fairfield by Marriott, As we planned a visit the play:cle to celebrate my oldest sons birthday, and my boys and I was exhausted by early evening. So I booked a room online from the entertainment venue across the street. My boys were ecstatic it had an indoor pool , I was thankful it was close and offered a morning breakfast. The lady behind was kind and smiling and welcoming. What little did she know, she crushed all happiness to learn the pool was closed due to a mechanical problem. And the breakfast was not only minimal at best with muffins, and apples it was to be behind the front counter. Well ok, it is what it is. We went to our room. As we are settling in with nothing to do because of the rain, we turned the TV on to find 3 out of the 6 channels didnt come in right. With two younger boys that left the selection even lower. As we lay to rest for the night, I couldnt pull the curtain close to block out the McDonalds sign and gas station traffic and business lights. Well. We was as I said , exhausted, so we did our best to get some rest. To wake the next morning to shower , I stare at mold on the shower curtain. I paid my hard working, single mother, budget on this night and needless to say it was short of a train wreck.
The website mentions memory foam pillows as an option. I called to reserve our room with them. When I arrived at 11:30 pm, I verified with front desk during check-in. The concierge assured me that the room is set up with it. The memory foam pillows were not there. I called the front desk, she said they ran out.It would be easier if she was forefront about it.
We usually stay here when we visit family. This hotel has gone downhill significantly. They were out of stock of tissues and thermostats (you read that right). The pool was drained and closed with no notice before we arrived. One of the pillows on our bed smelled horrible. The “free breakfast” is a joke and is nowhere near what they used to offer. They didn’t really seem to be trying honestly. I don’t usually leave reviews, but really get like people should know before they consider staying here.
Very nice and clean. Within 15 minutes of shopping, entertainment, and restaurants. Showers were very good with high shower heads and good water pressure. Because of covid, the pool was closed and it was a take and go breakfast. Breakfast wasnt bad, had lots of options.
As stated the pool was not open. Continental breakfast was very disappointing as there was very little fruit no cereal nothing hot. Front desk people were very sweet and helpful. Altogether it seemed understaffed. And then one day when we came back after a long day we found a door had been left open and we were not even receiving housekeeping that week. Trashcan was out was no reason to come in
The hotel is average. Not far from restaurants, but isolated off highway. Had lots of issues with doors not shutting had to constantly pull and adjust to get doors to work. Maintenance and housekeeping not available. Breakfast buffet is like going to gas station picking up items. The biggest issue was they charged my card incorrectly 5 times, I went to address daily but still after 4 days no resolve. This hotel is still charging pre-Pandemic prices even though none of the amenities are available.
Overall it was fine. I got in late and left early. The 2 complaints were, hallway was dingy and the air conditioner made noise all night so I didnt get a good nights sleep. I did tell the front desk about it when I checked out and she was very apologetic and offered me a discount or extra points, which I appreciated.
After waiting about 15 minutes at the front desk, we were finally able to check in. The clerk said our card was declined so we checked with our bank and there was no issue with the card. He ran it agains at which time he admitted there was an error with the machine not our card, and he was using the back up system because he was scared of freezing the main system. I had to rebook and pay for the room through Expedia. The lobby smelled musty, the pool was empty and there was no TV remote in the room. There was also mold on the shower curtain.
Room 310 is next to the ice maker which makes a high pitched noise in the room throughout the day and night. Rooms aren’t cleaned if you stay more than 1 night. Weekend breakfast was monitored to prevent people from taking too much. Clean towels were unavailable until the next morning. We were told there was a shortage on towels. Pool was drained even though it was advertised as open.
This place is so proud of being a 2 star hotel they cant even pretend to cate enough to hire staff who arent rude. Of O tell you hey the website says you have a pool and a hot tub but your pool is down and I dont see a hot tub probably dont tell me Im a liar, then show you on your own website where it says you have a hot tub and then tell me that youve never had one without apologizing to the customer you just called a liar.If you like air conditioning working steer clear from here. If you think breakfast means a continental breakfast youll be pleased to know its an otis spunkmier muffin and a nutrigrain bar. Should you value your vehicle youll be happy to know little leaguers will be doing batting practice right next to your parking lot and the staff will not care. With the esception of one older lady the rest of the staff was rude their standards were messed up on everylevel from cleanliness to attitude. Give this place a wide pass in your travels, personal or otherwise. Others there for the event had no issues at similarly priced hotels in the area, everybidy else there for the evebt at my hotel was miserable.
I had a fantastic stay at the hotel. The front counter service was excellent, location is right next to the highway, and not too far of a drive from Cedar Point. I didnt personally use all of the accommodations at the location, but the room was clean, and the service was great!
The Customer Representative was courteous but never informed us that the pools was not working neither was the ice machine. The room was not cleaned at all. We had to go to the nearest Walgreens to buy cleaning supplies and cleaned our self just to spend the night cause we were tired.
Do not stay here! This was a horrible experience. My room was not cleaned we arrived and there was hair in the shower on the bathroom floor food in the fridge. Then when the manager pam was made aware of the situation housekeeping came to clean the room so we left to go to wedding which was the reason for our stay came back to the room and it was STILL NOT CLEANED. I have pictures and time stamps. I was promised a refund which I still have not received instead Ive been charged twice for two separate amounts.
There is a lot going on here, and most of it isnt great.. but there were a few good things.Negatives:*It was more expensive to book a room in our wedding block than through the website. When I pointed this out, it took 3-4 weeks to get the (manager?) to fix it all about a month out from our wedding. They kept saying they were waiting to hear back from the revenue manager, but when I asked them to call to speak with some directly about it instead of email, they would not. To their credit, they did eventually match their own price from their website, but not before 4 different couples/family members in our group booked elsewhere :/*After I met with the coordinator, I was a bit turned off because upon entering the building there were 3 different signs stating that I must mask, but both staff member were unmasked, only wearing face shields. I work in the medical field, a face shield is basically a way of giving people who tell you to mask the middle finger. It doesnt do diddly squat. This is a droplet virus, you need to cover your mouth!*According to Marriotts own policy vaccinated employees need not mask, but the unvaccinated must still mask (all prior to DeWine lifting things 06/02). When directly asking the coordinator if she was vaccinated, she dodged the question and said it was staffs choice to vaccinate. Im not going to tell someone whether or not to get vaccinated, but if it is your employers policy to mask if you arent vaccinated, you better be wearing a mask, not a shield. It made me very uncomfortable. I had guests coming in from out of town who want to feel safe, and it wasnt reassuring.*Multiple guests in our party were all checked in long after their check in time because their rooms had not yet been cleaned. They had to leave and come back because their rooms werent ready.*They messed up the Welcome bags. Two of my guests didnt get welcome bags and my parents, who were only to get one, got 2. I specifically gave the names of rooms for how many were assigned to each, so Im not sure why it wasnt followed.*The automatic door broke and fell on a guest when we were there and instead of moving it they just left it on the ground and put cones around it :-SPositives:*We have dietary restrictions, which can be hard to accommodate. They had nothing for breakfast that we could have, so the coordinator got us oatmeal that we could eat. That was very kind, thoughtful and we appreciated it a lot.*They give you a complimentary room and shuttle for your wedding if your guests book 20 rooms.*Play CLE is next door. Great fun for kids and they have a bar and food.
Honestly the service was the worst that Ive had in a long time. And Im seriously wondering if I will be staying at other Marriots in the future with this sort of quality. It seemed that the staff was not at all interested in providing service and I felt like I was a nuisance to them...My room was not ready till much later even though I had requested and been preapproved for a early check in. They also had forgotten to put in a welcome bag from my wedding even though I had requested it on a follow up email prior to my arrival. Honestly if given the option I would pick anywhere but here.
We were originally given a room that wasn’t clean, beds unmade. My husband and son went to use the pool. There are two other groups in the pool room. One family ask my husband if he knew that we had to make reservations for pool time for social distancing . We were never told this upon check in. They felt bad for intruding on the other families. Room cleanliness not what I usually see. Fridge not cold.
Not coming here again don’t recommend. they said there isn’t any roaches and the place is not infested but there was 8 fat ones at the desk entrance😔 they all discriminated me because i wore a hijab and because i was “muzzlum😩” cops were called for no reason too but don’t worry i made out with the cops parents after 😍😍🥵
I was really impressed by the cleanliness and appearance of our room. It was a relief to find a clean, comfortable room after checking in so late at night after a long drive. The employees were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise with fresh fruit available (strawberries on Friday and mixed fruit on Saturday), in addition to the usual waffles, eggs, and sausage. I also really loved the alternative fruit juice choices, especially the strawberry banana juice. The internet connection was fast and reliable throughout the hotel. No password was needed.
My husband and I stayed here while visiting family for Christmas. The hotel is very welcoming and clean. The staff have a great attitude towards the customers. The room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. We went down in the morning for the complimentary breakfast, and I was impressed. They had scrambled eggs, cheese omelets, sausage patties, bacon, oatmeal, cereal, and last but not least, fruit. My husband and I enjoyed the breakfast. It was great. We will definitely be staying at the Fairfield Inn again in the near future. Thanks to the staff for being very professional. 😁
Air conditioner was leaking, carpet all around the bed was very wet. Supposedly no other rooms available. General manager said she would have someone wet vac it and leave extra towels in room. Never happened. We stayed 5 days in a room with wet carpet and musty smell.
The front desk staff was sarcastic and rude. I witnessed a door fall off its hinges onto another guest, injuring them. The staff did not appropriately manage the situation. When I needed cleaning staff to take care of something in my room, the front desk said they would send someone up, but no one ever arrived. I had to track down a housekeeper myself to have it taken care of.
Room clean, no funny smell, bathroom clean, shower big with great pressure. Staff friendly and helpful! Breakfast was decent. Pool clean, could have been warmer. Fitness center was under construction sadly but looks like it going to be a good place to get a quick workout in when finished. I would stay here again.
Not my favorite but Im guessing most of the issues are staffing related. Pool was emptied. No cleaning service provided, which is annoying when staying multiple days. Rooms are tiny and the breakfast is subpar. Oh,and they didnt have enough keys to allow us to have two ...????
We have stayed here on numerous occasions and we ALWAYS have been treated extremely well. The staff and management are friendly and helpful. It is always clean, bright, and welcoming. The pool is actually opened to guests staying at the hotel,(with a reserved time for your party). Theres a workout room,a lounge area in the lobby thats so inviting, and every room offers peaceful and clean space to relax. I highly recommend this location for all these reasons and more. The location is ideal. Youre right off a highway, theres attractions nearby including gas stations,McDonalds, a wine and wood restaurant, and an adventure place called PlayCLE. If youre considering a stop in this area for any reason, you truly need to try this place!
Bed Bugs!!! Coming home from Cleveland clinic hospital me and my husband (my husband has stage 4 cancer) needed rest from the long day of appointments so we stayed. Around 9 I noticed was itching the back of my neck looked in mirror it was bites. Pulled up sheets and there they were on the mattress. We have little ones at home I am still scared about the spread our bags we placed right next to the bed. I called the desk lady she said she would refund money...so we did and left...I check bank account days later no refund...called they said I have to wait 30 days for refund! Im a patient person but this is awful!
The hotel was modern, well lite, clean and tidy. Our room was on the first floor so I was concerned about the noise of foot traffic but never experienced any. I felt secure and save in my room and when I went out after dark. The staff was fabulous always willing to help with whatever we needed.
Covid should not be a excuse to no service rooms on the contrary should sanatize the room, housekeeping should be priority, bug free environment is a must so I as the guest wont worry about taking pest to my home or bites to my body! Overflowing bathroom from second floor bathroom should be automatic change of room
The staff at this hotel was amazing! They were super friendly, warm and inviting! The rooms were clean and offered many different great options...coffee pot, fridge, lots of pillows and personal items to use! The breakfast was surprisingly yummy and again, lots of options to choose from!
Terrific stay! Very clean room with plenty of parking outside our door! Amazing hot breakfast.....delicious....several fresh fruit salads, egg omelettes, regular sausage, turkey sausage, warm oatmeal with many different toppings, yogurts, milks, breads, sweets, waffles, etc.! Quiet, so very enjoyable! An incredibly amazing staff that includes Jeremiah the night time check in desk clerk, Natasha the breakfast buffet chef, Tina the impeccable maid, Hope the morning check out desk clerk and Pam the hotel manager. We have not had a better stay at hotel in years! I would return here and drive miles to wherever I might need to go as we loved it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
My husband and I frequent this hotel and are always greeted by friendly and knowledgeable employees, a clean and modern room, and a pleasant experience over-all. The internet has worked great in all the rooms weve been assigned so far. The hot breakfast is tasty, filling, and has a good selection of items (waffles, fruit, eggs, etc).
Everything about our overnight stay was great. Extremely clean, very comfortable, staff that went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and they were very accommodating. Breakfast was not over the top, but good variety and tasted great and the breakfast area was very clean. Great job by their staff!
I stayed at this property for a night stay on my transit and as expected from any marriott hotel, the rooms was clean, staff very courteous and they were maintaining proper covid protocols. Very happy with my stay and I would chose this property during my next stay in Avon area.
My girlfriend and I met here to do some scrap-booking and the hotel was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was a nice added bonus. Everything met our needs and the staff were all so nice, and friendly, and eager to help meet our needs. Also, the location was great. Only a few miles to the shopping district that included Costco, restaurants, Target, Michaels etc. Perfect for our needs. We plan to meet here again. Thank you!
This hotel offers everything you might need to keep up with your daily routine as well as liesure activities. It was perfect for my family as we were going to Cedar Point during our stay. It was close enough that we could still sleep in and take advantage of the continental breakfast that was offered as well as find local restaurants for dinner. The room was clean and well maintained. The wi-fi was easy to access. I would definately recommend this Fairfield to friends and family.
The rooms smell like wonderful clean linen and are spacious while feeling homey. The area was very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable (And I still need back surgery!). You are given more then enough pillows to make an amazing blanket fort of soft. The bathroom had an AWESOME shower. However, the maids never visited us. Never asked us if we needed anything, so we had to get things ourselves. The telephone was broken. Upon asking someone to bring us some necessities, no one showed up. The internet wasnt reliable... and the doors seemed IMPOSSIBLE to fully close. Aside from that, we had loud neighbors above us, but, I dont know if that could have been helped. Overall, I wouldnt mind to much staying there again. Besides, if its a good nights sleep youre looking for with their near blackout curtains and comfy beds.. THIS is the place!
The hotel is very well kept. Rooma are clean. The breakfast had great selections (loved the mini waffles). But the thing that stands out the most is the customer service of front desk staff. I must have changed my room key 7-8 times because my phone case has magnet. She did not complain once and she always greet with smile. Its rare to find such friendly staff these days.
Don’t stay here. It’s one of the dirtiest, unfriendly, broken down hotels I have stayed in. So many things went wrong it’s actually too much to type up. I know the hotel industry is still working to get up and running from the pandemic, but I’ve come to expect way more from Marriott. I won’t be back.
The overall stay was good. The hotel was under remodel and was a little dusty. You could tell the staff was trying to stay on top of it, and they did a relatively good job. The location was good, it was very close to the freeway and easy to find. It was also very close to my business destination. The restaurant located next door had some very good food and was easily within walking distance. The amenities at the hotel were very good and the staff was exceptional, extremely friendly and helpful.
My husband and I were in town visiting my sister so we decided to stay the night at the Fairfield. The staff was very friendly and made sure everything was right for us. We got a complimentary upgrade which we were pleasantly surprised by. The hotel was very clean and up to date. Nice stop for one night and a quick visit.
Clean facility. Friendly staff that made us feel welcome, Professional in appearance from all the staff especially the front desk. Courteous with all the request that we made prior to arriving to the hotel. All were completed and more. The entire stay was the most peaceful experience that my family did not want to leave.
I stayed for one night that was pre-paid through Priceline by a friend. Upon arrival they stated the room was prepaid but my credit card was needed for incidentals. When I received my credit card bill I was again charged for the room. I called and they admitted it was an error and they would issue credit. Then they billed me again and gave credit essentially doing NOTHING. They did this twice and I still have not received a credit for the initial stay. Despite speaking with all levels of management and presenting documentation the issue still is not resolved. They have been paid twice and will not issue a refund! Overall the rooms were clean and the staff on check in were very nice. The breakfast had a nice selection although the eggs, bacon, and sausage were all cold.
Staff was friendly and courteous. The amenities met all my needs. Room was spacious, but bed was a bit hard. Pool and workout areas are small, but efficient. Wireless internet was spotty depending on where your room was located. Complimentary breakfast was excellent. Fully stocked with hot food! If I return to Avon, I will strongly consider staying here again.
This property is best described as mainstream. Nothing great, nothing terrible. Be aware that the room walls are quite thin. Room amenities are average, bathroom do-able. Breakfast serves the purpose as quick with a few healthy options and more not so healthy ones. I expect better from the Marriott enterprise, but have seen worse. I recommend this property only if one is passing through just for the night.
We stay at Feirfield Inns all over the country for both business and leisure and this was a disappointing stay. The rooms was musty smelling and looked warn. The TV had a terrible picture in todays standards. The bathroom was nearly the length of the room with the towels more than 6 full strides from the shower. This made it challenging to grab a towel at the conclusion of my shower. I didnt take a long shower because there was mold in the corners. The elevators may have been the slowest that I have ridden and to complicate things with this, there was only one elevator.Breakfast was very good and well maintained. The highlight of our stay.
I had a number of issues with the cleanliness of the hotel, ranging from room smell (unpleasant, musky odor) to stains in the bathtub and a moldy comforter. I would probably consider staying at an alternate hotel. However, I will say that the staff was extremely pleasant and attentively tried to meet my needs during my stay.
Great place to stay. The front desk staff are great to work with and willing to do whatever to make sure the scheduling works with ever changing business travel plans. Clean and usable space. Decent continental breakfast and a simple but usable fitness room and pool area. Hard to beat for the price, with unbeatable service at any price.
Fairfield Inns provide excellent accommodations and services at a reasonable price. This Fairfield met those expectations. Friendly and helpful staff. Good sized and clean rooms. Very comfortable beds. Quiet, even though it was near a busy interstate. Complimentary breakfast was very good, and the usual selections. Correct Room was provided.
In town for a wedding. Pleasantly surprised to experience such a wonderful stay. Ive travelled quite a bit and this hotel and staff was so helpful, happy and considerate to all my family. I will be certain to take another look at the Fairfield chain in the future! Thanks again...Great Job!
Stayed 5 nights, we got a better rate because of this. We were given an upgrade to a better room after 2 days when one opened up. The staff did not need to do this but they did. This was very nice of them and went a long way in satisfying us. The pool was very nice, the fitness center modest but adequate. The area in west Cleveland is very nice, no concerns about safety. Breakfast was OK. Staff was very helpful. Will stay here again next time we go to Cleveland.
As a Elite member, I have stayed at a lot of Marriots! As a family we thought this hotel was great! The team is very friendly and go out of their way to ensure you are happy! The breakfast is your typical hotel breakfast, provides a pool and the rooms were spacious & beds comfortable! Thanks Fairfield Avon!
I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a nice and clean hotel that will take care of you. The facilities were all very well kept and the wifi, and complimentary breakfast were very nice as well. All employees were kind and accommodating throughout my stay. I would stay again.
Great location but super poor communication at the front desk. Simply wanted to refresh my drink so I asked the gal at the desk where ice is and the next thing surrounded by a dozen cops with automatic weapons drawn.Would stay at this property again? Might but would recommend bringing your own ice and strongly suggest NOT asking the front desk where ice is!
Just overall for paying what i did i was hoping for a good nights stay and was just disappointed repeatedly. My check out wasnt till noon so i was hoping to sleep in only to be woke up by the construction that was going on. Which when i was booking the hotel was not told about or warned so that was an un-needed suprise. Our room stunk of mold from the bathroom , when i told Carol about it at check out she told me they usually spray a very nice room spray that helps with that, but they must have forgotten to spray your room.Just had tap water no machines to buy bottled water? Not staying there again which is a bummerbecause its so close and convenient for us.
Had never stayed at a Fairfield Inn & Suites before. However we expected it to be pretty nice; but we had no idea it would be that nice! The staff were very warm and friendly, the room was beautifully decorated and as clean as a pin. The breakfast was magnificent. Wed be thrilled to stay there again if we are in Avon area. We look forward to checking out other Fairfield Inns when traveling. It was a delightful stay. Thanks!
Cons - although rooms were clean and relatively updated, maintenance is an issue. Significantly leaking window during rain storm; carpet soaked from leaking AC window unit; rooms overlooking patio succeptable to having cigarette smoke blow in through AC unit when people smoking on patio. Pros: Breakfast was fine and hotel staff courteous.
Very disappointing experience. We were booked for suite with King bed and pull out bed and it turned out we we had 2 full beds. It was uncomfortable. Manager told us there was no room available to move us. This did not help with our purpose of having pleasant stay. Room was crammed. We came prepared with meals as I was told Suite has microwave. This room did not have microwave. We had to go outside to heat up our food.Wife and kids could not sleep all night for 2 nights.
Horrible disgusting and disrespectful staff. The lady behind the desk was caught using my credit card information purchasing stuff. online investigation was done I can’t disclose her name but everything was delivered to her personal address!!! I’m glad I didn’t bring a lot of personal stuff that might’ve got stolen in my room when I stayed there…. Do not trust this place . They have thieves and crooks working there. Please spread awareness thank you
I have stayed at FFI Avon numerous times throughout the past year, and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a good compromise between price and value. The customer service of the staff is unbeatable as compared to neighboring hotels on the near West side. Recently remodeled interior. With most of the road construction now completed, getting in and out of the property is very simple. Try the Wood and Wine restaurant next door, which has excellent food/staff. Property close to shopping venues and is less than 30 minutes from downtown.
I turned on the shower to let it warm up. I walked into the room to get my clothes, and when I returned water was overflowing from the shower. Someone had clogged the drain in the shower with paper towels and I didn’t see it until the floor was covered with water. I spent 20 minutes and all my towels cleaning up the mess. I advised the cleaning lady of the situation and she said that the drain appeared to have paper towels blocking it from where it had been cleaned the day before.
I would highly recommend the Fairfield Inn & Suites because everyone there was friendly and the atmosphere was just very pleasant. Weve stayed there before and every time we stay there its just been a wonderful experience. There was a woman who worked the front desk during the day on weekdays and she went over an above her job to make us feel welcomed and at home. All in all I would highly recommend the place to anyone who needs to stay at a hotel in Avon. It was simply a wonderful experience all around.
Here on a business trip. Trying to get rest and walls are paper thin. You’ll here your neighbors having conversation or either having sex. Nothing staff can do. Marriott brand and just the feeling of hearing your neighbors do there business makes you feel like you’re in a motel. Not staying here again, go down the road to the Marriott residence inn where previously had an awesome experience.
We used the Fairfield to block rooms for our wedding guests in September and were very disappointed with their service. The rooms were very nice and the location of the hotel was very convenient, however, we did encounter a lot of problems in the weeks leading up to the wedding. First, I heard from some of my guests that they were being quoted a higher price a night than we had agreed on with the hotel. This caused a lot of our guest to book at a different hotel which was very disappointing because we had wanted to spend more time with our guests. I also had two of my bridesmaids call me and tell me that they were told that the hotel was completely booked up when they called to book their rooms. This was very concerning as we were told that we were going to have the rooms held until a month before the wedding. However, when I called the next day the woman that I talked with was very helpful and kept our rooms blocked off for another week. There was another issue however. In our contract it stated that if we had at least 10 rooms booked we would get our suite for free the night of the wedding, and if we did not get 10 rooms booked we would still get a discount. We ended up not getting the 10 rooms booked (which I suspect was due to our guests being quoted higher rates) and when we called to book our suite we were told that we didnt have a king suite in our block and that we would not get the discount. When we called about this issue we were told that they would honor the discount, however after describing all of our grievances to management they did give us the room for free.I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are just booking a room for yourself, as it is very nice. However, be weary if you are hoping to block off rooms for an event.
Front desk staff were amazing. Carol and Anthony went the extra mile and actually sent coffee to my room because I didnt know how to use the coffee maker. This was an emergency stay due to an automobile breakdown and they did everything posibe to make a very stressful stay comfortable. I highly recommend this motel to anyone visiting they area. Many thanks and hats off to them!
The rooms were nice. The service was excellent and the night clerk saved my brothers life. His sugar had spiked too low if Jermaine hadnt answered the phone and went beyond the call of duty by bringing my brither orange juice and candy he wouldnt have made his wedding the next morning. Thanks Jermaine you are really and truly a HERO, thanks for saving my brothers life! He said his only thought before he was about to pass out was to call the front desk and Jermaine came through! Thank you dip much! The whole staff was amazing!
Ive stayed at other Fairield Inns in the past. This one has very small rooms, Feels like being in a box. Bathroom is oversize and cramps the room size down to just livable. Great place to eat next door. Staff was amazing. Whatever they are getting paid is not enough.
One of the best Fairfield Inns weve ever enjoyed. Its clean and very well run. We actually found a nice restaurant on a Sunday night when the restaurant next door is closed. This hotel is loved and cared for, and the staff wants to help guests enjoy their stay - and we sure did! Not the typical Fairfield, or the typical anything. This place is attended to, looked after. Its a bit difficult to find the right road on which to enter the parking lot of this Fairfield although there are two Marriott signs making its location. The city needs to do its part to improve this flaw. The street needs to provide a more well marked entrance, and the parallel lines, presumably forbidding travelers from crossing over into the actual parking lot just adds to the confusion. Please improve the markings of the correct entrance to this hotel! Travelers need to rely on road signs to be clearly marked!
I visit this Hotel during a business trip.Hotel in a good position with free parking. No restaurant internally but there is one just 50m from the complex. The staff is quite nice and helpfull.Internal swimingpool and a small, but beautiful, fitness room with only cardio machines. The room is quite big and really beautiful. The bed is really comfortable and everything is super clean.Internet wifi quite fast.Big smart TV screen with the possibility to connect Netflix, Youtube, Hbo Go...Only negative is that you hear the conversation from the other rooms (walls to thin?)
We used your hotel to assist with sleeping arrangements for a family reunion as we did not want people to be drinking and driving. The hotel is just around the corner from our host family and we called Uber to transport the 8 people. Your property was convenient, clean and comfortable. We will stay there again.
Great experience all the way around! Very friendly staff from the front desk clerk to the breakfast bar employees to a great housekeeping staff! Great breakfast food, nice indoor swimming pool. Close to great restaurants and shops and very clean facility. Looking forward to my next visit!
I called in the middle of the night to get a room for me and my cousin who had been on the road for over 9 hours. The receptionist was kind and helpful over the phone who had told me that they had rooms available amd to come in and they can check us in. We were denied by another hotel because hinestly I think I woke up the receptionist from that hotel and she didnt really want to help us get a room from them. Fairfield was wonderful and when they found out we were here for a funeral they accommodated us and my family. Hotel was beautiful and very clean. I would choose this hotel over others if I could.
My room was very clean, and bed was very comfortable. However, Fairfield needs more attention to detail if they plan to keep their customers. Examples: no hot water for my morning shower one day, curtains do not stay closed and parking lot lights shine in at night, smoke detector light flashes all night.
We stayed at the Fairfield Inn for our wedding which made it very convenient to have our vendors come and drop things off and also for us to drive back and forth to our venue. The front desk staff was very accommodating and the breakfast was great every morning. They had a wide selection of breakfast food. Our room had a living room in it which was very nice to relax and watch tv and the bedroom has the comfiest pillows.
Just by seeing that awful video of that man who was targeted by a previous employee, I probably would not stay at this hotel... just because the previous owners were probably forced to sell the property by Marriott for PR purposes & new has recently bought it & hired new staff, the staff is still from the area so, doesn’t change if the people and mentality are all the same. Safe travel always comes first!!
The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and had great extras (pool, breakfast, etc.!) It is in a great location as well and is close to a number of stores and restaurants just a couple miles down the street. It is an easy drive to Cedar Point from this hotel and gets you out of the hussle and bussle of the main Cedar Point traffic, etc.
I reserved two adjoining rooms each with two double beds. Guaranteed them as a Marriott Rewards member. The reservation agent I used was at the local hotel since the national number people said they cannot reserve adjoining rooms. She said she blocked the rooms so they could not be changed due to our planned late-arrival. When we did arrive we learned our rooms had been given to other customers and that we had been upgraded to two adjoining suites each having one king bed and one sofa. Upgraded? Upgraded from four double beds to two kings and two lumpy pull-out sofas. Go somewhere else.
Great hotel, clean, friendly hospitality , requested toothbrush and paste received them for free. They have extra lotion in hand. They got great breakfast scramble eggs, turkey sausage, bacon , pastery , cereal, yogurt, lol, it feels like Im listing everything. All I can say is you will not be diaapointed going there
Ok, ok I need to be perfectly transparent with this review. I feel that no matter what @bonvoy property you choose, you wont be wrong. However there are some properties where the staff goes so out of their way to ensure that your at least the accommodation part of your visit is handled right. Wow, from the checking in to the complementary water and the making sure that I had all I needed, there truly made me feel welcomed.Highly recommend

2022-05-23Stopped in on a long motorcycle trip without a reservation. The folks behind the desk were the friendliest (and funniest) I have experienced in some time. I had a similarly positive experience in the morning. The room was clean and quiet. I will be stopping in again!

2022-05-18The hotel is decent, the amenities are good. MOST of the staff is great! Like Stacy, but the new old lady CAROL is super rude, unaccommodating and acts like the guests are a problem for her. If I was her boss she wouldnt BE anything more than a garbage collector. She needs a personality adjustment ASAP.

2022-06-08Overall, it was pretty mid. the lady at the front desk gave us the wrong directions to our hotel room, and sent us on a walking expedition to the other side of the hotel from which our room was on. the room itself wasnt half bad, until i got into the shower and noticed the MOLD on the shower curtain and all over the bathtub/faucet area. the shower faucet handle was also extraordinarily loose and made adjusting the temperature difficult. the breakfast served was underwhelming at most. only a few hot breakfast items to eat were offered, and they had no juice????? :(again, a very mid experience, would recommend to those who dont shower and dont mind lack of breakfast items (like juice)

2022-02-02Positive: The breakfast and the pol was nice. The best part was meeting Staff at the front desk and in the kitchen! She was doing both and still went above the call of duty with pleasure! I came late for breakfast and she was willing to help with a smile and Negative: NO!

2022-05-03Staff has been super kind!Staying here and had to wash some clothes but they ran out of the detergent so Michael just gave us the detergent they use! Super helpful. We’re a traveling choir and it’s hard for us to get our outfits washed but Michael saved the day!!

2022-05-09The room was fine, the staff was nice, the breakfast was terrible! There was nothing fresh, only a small selection, basically a continental breakfast, not the real thing. We were told by the staff to expect nothing more, ever. This is their new way. Thus, Fairfield Inn is no longer a consideration for me.

2022-03-22The hotel lobby and exterior is updated but the rooms are dated and in need of a face lift. The staff was so accomidating and friendly especially Tracy and Hope. The only issues I had is the telephones in the toom didnt work and the ac/heat unit was soooo loud when it came on.

2021-10-03This place is a great place to stay for the money. Better than expected. Better than the pictures on the website. The other reviews do not do it justice. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will actually day it again because they were so friendly... The front desk staff was excellent, the breakfast staff was so friendly, and the housekeeping staff was lightning fast in bringing up towels. The breakfast was okay but covid-19 regulations are what keto it from being excellent. Upgraded as elite. My only criticism would be that the walls are too thin. One night we had a late check in with loud children next door and I had to put on some headphones. All in all it was worth it.
