This hotel was standard. The staff members were courteous and seemed to care about customer service. The room was okay. The shower needed some mildew/mold work. I couldn’t really eat the breakfast because it didn’t offer much in the way of healthy for people who don’t consume much meat or by-products of meat. They were professionally cleaning the floors and carpet while I was there. I didn’t see any creepy stuff in the room. That was good. It was super packed the two days I stayed there. I used the ice machine which wasn’t nasty. I didn’t use the pool or exercise room . I also didn’t use the elevators since my room was on the 1st floor. I’d go again.
We travel frequently and this is the best experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. There is an amazing culture of hospitality that can’t be beat. The staff are friendly and take pride in their hotel. We were treated like family from the moment we checked in until we checked out. The hotel was clean and inviting. The beds were quite comfortable, also. We will definitely stay again!
Room was clean and looked fresh. Smell was a little off, sort of like cedar chips in the bottom of a hotel cage. Breakfast was thrown together. Little food available, cheap paper plates and utensils, no coffee, and asked staff for more and they acted like it was an issue to refill the coffee for breakfast. Would have been nice to warn guests that housekeeping wasnt available during our 4 day stay. Ran out of towels and other amenities since housekeeping services werent running.
We were very impressed with the hotel staff, cleanliness and the food offerings. One thing that was important to us was that it was in a good area but not far from Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This hotel fit the bill perfectly. I would say the pull out couch is a little small but since we have young children it worked out just fine. It definitely was not a good size for a couple to sleep on.
The hotel staff although limited was extremely helpful and pleasant. The hotel room was very clean and generous in size. We were attending a concert at blossom music center and this was a convenient location. We will definitely be chosing this hotel if we attend another concert or visiting Cleveland. Hats off to Joy for dealing with the influx of guests all at one time.
Positive: Very clean new hotel in quiet location next to everything, plus easy freeway access. Staff is friendly and attentive. (Try nearby Swenson¿s Galley Boy burger and all flavors of milkshakes that they will run to your car!). Negative: Great hotel-rm pic is misleading.¿Guest room, one king, sofa bed¿ picture shows 2 tv¿s & larger sofa than what actually is, in what appears to be another room-it¿s a large bedroom with 1 tv & regular sofa bed. Maybe executive king has 2 tv¿
Starting with the young lady at check in, the staff was wonderful. The next morning when I asked if they had decaf at breakfast, Amy was a real sweetheart and made a pot for me! She made sure each morning that a pot of decaf was available, and I really appreciated that! Kudos to Amy.Unfortunately the AC unit made this high pitched whining noise. When I mentioned it Friday morning, the staff was apologetic and had Mike, the maintenance person, check it out for us. He was awesome. He came to the room and tightened something which made the noise disappear. Unfortunately, whatever he tightened came loose again and the noise returned. This was in no way Mikes fault, he was SO apologetic for the situation and truly tried his best. We were in room 210, hopefully one of the new units he said were on order can be placed there. The breakfast was adequate, and Amy kept the area spotless.Overall a very pleasant stay. Thank you to the entire staff for their kindness and attention.
Positive: The hotel and the room was very clean. Everything worked well. Negative: No one was wearing masks in the hotel. Not the staff and none of the people staying there. I think during this covid surge all people in the hotel should be wearing masks. I am a immunocompromised person, did not feel safe.
The hotel itself is very nice. However, they are experiencing staffing issues. In fact, the gentleman who I checked out with said they had 5 employees walk out just the weekend. They are still allowing this hotel to sell out and not be able to handle the basic amenities Marriott stands for & what the customer pays for. We booked two rooms, one room was ready when we arrived at MIDNIGHT but the other room the house keepers were still mopping the floors. My husband and I were too tired to wait for our room to be properly cleaned (granted it was MIDNIGHT) so we asked the housekeepers to leave.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was well stocked and acceptable. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Only issues were the low water pressure in the shower, the loud air conditioner, and the price increase on the second night of our stay due to the event occurring in the area that we were not attending. I would stay her again. The location is very convenient and other than those few issues we were pleased.
Checked in at 12 pm online thinking that when we arrive at 3 pm a room would be ready. That was not the case. Had to be at a wedding at 5pm that was 20 minutes away and was told by the hotel desk that it should only be 10 to 15 minutes before a room was available. After numerous time talking to the front desk finally got into the room at 4:30 pm. We were told that they were over booked which I dont think is even possible, only because when a room online is taken how can someone else book it. Just thought it would of been a nice weekend and but unfortunate not the case.
They had queen sized sheets on our king bed so they wouldnt stay on throughout the night, there was something brown and sticky stuck to the carpet, and a rancid smell coming from the fridge. When we first walked in to our room the smell was overwhelming; it was is if they didnt bother getting rid of the cause of the smell but just sprayed a ton of air freshener to attempt to cover it up. It didnt work. The only redeeming quality of the hotel was that they had complimentary cucumber lemon water at the front desk
Upon arrival at the hotel I pulled back the sheets on my bed and there was a snot tissue and hair follicles on the bed sheet. I was very discussed that in a post Covid environment the rooms are not being cleaned. I was transfered to another room. I was also disturbed that I had to negotiate to have my bed sheets changed on the next day. This whole idea of no longer cleaning rooms is getting old. You need to staff your hotels so that the rooms can be cleaned. Lastly the breakfast needs to come back at your hotels. there is efficient ways to provide food safely like simply providing plastic food handling gloves that guest would use when going though the buffet line. Lets get it together Marriott.
Hotel night auditor Keisha Q. was so wonderful person and experienced professional staff during my check-in. I made a reservation thru 3rd party who didnt complete process before my check-in. She called 3rd party few times to complete reservation almost 2 hours at midnight 12:15-2:30am, even 3rd party 1st customer service woman hung up call during process. Keisha really take care customer, and so much patient. if I were Keisha, I must stopped that process.Hi Keisha! Our family are really appreciate it!And all hotel staffs are really kind. Excellent hotel.
This hotel was nice and clean. We were not there long this trip as we just needed a resting place for the night. We all slept well in quite rooms, had a quality Covid era Grab and Go breakfast in the morning and were back on the road, rested and refreshed. The staff was friendly and helpful. Id stay there again and recommend it as a high value for the price range.
Our stay was great! While the breakfast was limited due to Covid, they still had plenty of options, not just apples, oranges, and muffins. There were hot options as well which made it easier for our toddler. The pool was open by reservation only, which I loved! Laura at the front desk was a delight, as well as the young man working with her! Overall a clean, smooth, and friendly stay!
Do not stay at this hotel!! Me and my wife had booked our stay 2 months before her best friends wedding and when we arrived they told us we did not have a room at this hotel due to them double booking rooms. We had received a voicemail saying they got us a room at a hotel down the road. We did not realize we had this voicemail until the next morning however they sent us to an entirely different hotel then the one in the voicemail. After they told us which hotel they were moving us to they told us to figure out how to get there and would not make arrangements for an Uber or shuttle. Once we arrived at the other hotel the manager there was very rude to us and told u s we didnt have a room there and get out of his hotel. We will never be staying in a Fairfield Marriott again and I would advise anyone that reads this to do the same.
This place is in a great location to interstate &everything you would need. It sits back off the beaten path, very quiet.Staff was welcoming & efficient. They have an abbreviated breakfast from the usual pre pandemic however. They offered a hot dish which was an omelet and Canadian bacon on the side. The room is updated and room and facility clean. So many places are worn down and dirty but this place is the exception..Check in here and enjoy!
Positive: Location wasnt up the hill Negative: Upon arrival the room was dirty had what appeared to be blood on the blanket, also mystery hairs in the bathroom and the TV didnt work. When I brought it to the manager on duty attention he brought up a new set of bedding and set them on the floor outsid
Excellent hotel. Quiet, calm, not too busy and close to all the fun in Montrose as well as Akron. Breakfast was a little thin and cheap but at least there was a breakfast. Rooms were clean and even though we did have to request thr room to be cleaned during our 4 day stay it was performed well.
Ive traveled alot over the years and this was the most pleasant stay I can remember.I have severe back problems and it is usually worse in the morning after sleeping in a Hotel bed.Your bed was so comfortable the pain was even better than usual in the morning.I wish I could have brought it home with me.The staff were all very gracious as they met my every need.NICE JOB!
Arrived late in the evening to check-in and no one was working. There were several other people who had been waiting over a half-hour. Eventually we found an employee who wasnt even on shift and she couldnt find anyone else working either. Finally after almost a half hour the person arriving for her shift came and helped get us checked-in. I had completed online check-in so the process was simple. We had a first floor room right next to the lobby which was extremely loud for hours after we went to bed (11PM). The hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. There was no shampoo in the shower, only conditioner. Definitely would not stay again and would not recommend.
Went to visit a relative in Akron. This spot was very nearby. The room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. We could hear some traffic going by, but nothing that woke us or kept us awake at night. Very happy with our stay and would book this hotel again. Food was limited due to covid, but no big deal. Coffee was good! Manager was friendly. Good spot!
Clean Clean Clean and friendlyStaff very friendly upon checking in and out. Room was super clean as were the hallways and breakfast area. If fact Amanda was working the front desk as well as the breakfast area. She was diligent in keeping the tables clean. If you want a friendly and very clean hotel. This is the place to stay.Amanda clearly loves her job!!!!!
Positive: The housekeeper is a very honest person. I left my umbrella and very expensive sunglasses in the room and she returned them to me. Negative: The TV in my room did not work. The bathroom was very nasty. There was hair in the shower from the Previous guest. The sink in the bathroom was clogged. I had to brush my teeth and wash my hands in the shower. There was Brown staining on the curtain.
Not a bad place. The desk/check-in agent Tyler was extremely pleasant and courteous. Got us checked into our room quickly, unfortunately as soon as I went to the restroom in my room, I didnt realize I was in for a shock. Was shocked rather harshly by the light switch. We were moved to another room very shortly after by the manager on duty, Lauren.
This was a great hotel! This hotel is only about 7 years old and looks brand new. The sleeping area and the bathroom were both roomier than most standard rooms. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. This hotel is near several restaurants and the interstate.
Great location and access to major street in Akron. Hotel property lobby mostly clean although room common touch surfaces and door inside were not. Had to clean door with obvious hand prints down the inside of door, TV remote (unclear if it was clean/sanitized, not in a plastic cover as in other properties), light switches, restroom. Chips on carpet in the corner. Reported refrigerator not working on day 1, never addressed during the stay. Outdoor patio furniture and two trash bins needed attention for 2 days. Outdoor door to patio and first floor exit doors were both not working with room key and at times properties open. Most concerning was no obvious COVID protection observed by any hotel staff or at breakfast service over 3 days. Unsure if I will stay/recommend this particular property for future stays.
This place is just EVERYTHING! The staff is ABSOLUTELY the best! They are efficient, friendly and very accommodating. I almost feel like they are family members..lol! Benny, Tyler, Amanda, Keisha..and anyone else I have dealt with make staying there a great experience!
This hotel was adequate for what it was: a cheap nights stay to make a short vacation easier than driving round trip in a day. The grab and go breakfast was a nice touch and check in and check out was easy and smooth. The room quality was something to be desired, however. Cleaning staff did the bare minimum. We found food stains on walls, food scraps and trash on the floor, and tv remote was on the floor against the wall under the desk behind a chair. Not enough to bother with contacting the front desk, but the room definitely wasnt very clean.
There was a picture on the wall with the saying . its the small things that make a big difference.I think the best way to describe our stay there is this sum it up by saying this place had a lot of potential to be a great hotel but the little things that are neglected keep it from being so.The good thing is every staff person we saw and dealt with from the front desk to the woman who cleaned rooms were top notch ! They all were doing their job to the best of their abilities and going beyond to make us comfortable and feel at home. However, the little things like furniture that was beginning to show wear and tear piles of leaves in the patio area things like that which are being neglected take away from this being a great experience. My suggestion to the owners. Review and compensate your core employees who have been faithful and been doing a good job. Full room to room and repair what needs to be repaired. Stay on top of the things that are easy to fix , like maintenance of the grounds.
There were loud people next door and down the hall. Loud yelling, foul language and even jiggling our door handle (presumably on accident) until 4am. A call to the front desk at 2am yielded no results. This was after we had to sign a waiver at check-in about a fee if we were too noisy or smoked. Did they sign the same waiver? Perhaps that should have been my clue that they have issues. Clearly not an effective solution to the problem. Paid a hundred bucks to NOT sleep. Would have gotten a better nights sleep in my car!The free breakfast didnt start until after we had to leave in the morning and only consisted of grab and go due to COVID. However, we knew about grab and go before the stay. We were unable to close a curtain on the window (just a sheer), so it was quite bright at night. The curtains were not broken, just not designed to close. Also, there was highway noise. However, being close to the highway, I assumed that might be the case. Would not have kept me awake. Just noticed it because I was already awake! It is a shame because the accommodations themselves were nice. They just need to hire a bouncer!
Always a great place to stay. Only thing is no hot breakfast, no room service and no pool/hot tub. Staying at a hotel these are the amenities I love and am very upset that are not available. Hyatt is the only hotel I can remember recently that has had the pool available.
Check-In was easy, and almost contactless. Vinnie was very fast and helpful.2 problems,1. Parking lot was not plowed resulting in very slippery walking conditions. My daughter who was 7 months pregnant at the time of our stay, along with myself nearly fell due to icy conditions. Extremely unacceptable for a professional business.2. Probably just a simple oversight but in the shower we found bath supplies from a previous nights stay that had not been cleaned up. Other than those 2 things room was very clean as was the entire interior of hotel was clean but much more time and effort needs to be taken on the outside for peoples safety. Easy access to major highway, restaurants and any shopping that you may want to do.
Room was very clean, bathroom could have used just a little more attention, my wife found cleaning items leftover in the shower. Due to Covid breakfast was very limited. Some fruit, yogurt, bagels but main concern was lack of ice and snow removal. Very treacherous just walking to the car, hotel needs to pay a little more attention to safety of customers. Poor job of cleaning up from the weather.
The young lady whom registered/ check us in our room was amazing and exhibited INCREDIBLE PUBLIC RELATIONS SKILKS, for she was truly a breath of fresh air. This young lady should definitely be placed in a leadership position related to her professionalism and resolution effectiveness....
I had such an amazing stay here! Housekeeping was very meticulous! I can to my hotel after training and housekeeping organized my hair products, put my toothbrush in a cup, put my remote on a napkin and made my room look amazing. The little things are definitely appreciated and dont go unnoticed. My fellow coworker told me a lady from house keeping told her to bundle up its very old out and have a wonderful day. She was telling me how thoughtful that was. Also the ladys at the front desk are so beyond nice and professional and kind and the breakfast bar was delicious. I look forward to coming back 2 weeks from now and going into the hot tub. This hotel was amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone staying in the akron area.
While I do not remember the name of the lady who checked us in, she was so kind! She was genuinely excited for my family when we shared we were heading to The Polar Express that evening. The next morning, breakfast was excellent. I commend Alex for his great customer service, and how well he stocked the breakfast options, while interacting with guests. Taylor was great with the guests checking out before us, and with us, as well! She was very polite. I wasnt the least bit surprised when Alex shared that he was the GM of this location. Alex is definitely someone I would love to have on my team. Alex is a wonderful leader, who most importantly, leads by example. Great decision Fairfield!
This is a great location and property. Ive stayed at other hotels in this vicinity but this one is by far the best one Ive been to. Its a newer property and it shows. The bathroom is spacious and the amenities are wonderful. Staff, including the General Manager were friendly and welcoming. Seeing the GM each day we were there was admirable - it shows his investment in the property and staff.
I enjoyed the Fairfield Inn Fairlawn because it was conveniently located right off I-77 and near shopping and tourist attractions. I thought the front desk staff was very friendly and efficient. The room was beautifully decorated and the a/c was a champion! Bathroom, fridge, and microwave were all clean. The hotel was quiet, and the breakfast was good with a few different things than some of the other hotel breakfasts offer. I would stay here again if ever in the area.
This is a brand new hotel that is up to date. It provides excellent accommodation with a friendly and attentive staff that is quick to help you in anyway. Morning breakfast is wonderful and fresh. Rooms are very clean and spacious with very comfortable beds. Internet and tv/streaming is also excellent. The hotel is situated very close to many restaurants and shopping of all kinds. This is our second stay at this property and we will stay here again in the future. We highly recommend this hotel.
We have stayed at this location a few times with mixed results, but because of the location we keep returning. This time it was overall ok. When we arrived, our room was not ready so we had to drive around for almost a half hour until it was. Check-in was good but we were not recognized as Marriott Elite Gold members. The staff was very good, especially the young lady at the front desk. Good personality. The room was good, nice and clean. No issues. Breakfast was typical for a Marriott Fairfield, although there was a limited amount of fresh fruit. Hotel was quiet and no issues. I will add that we have stayed at this location before when soccer teams have been there and have left. We would have done the same this time. When there are teams, this location seems to have a hard time controlling the players and keeping things in line. Just something we have noticed in the past. We did call ahead to make sure this time there were not any teams, just to be on the safe side. To sum it up, overall a good visit with no issues.
This was an amazing stay at the Fairfield Inn! Our room was excellent, a lot of space and the people staying was respectful and didnt make any noise. The workers at the hotel were very friendly and nice, answered all questions, and very helpful. Even though the pool was a bit small, the rest of the hotels quality was amazing! Overall I give this hotel a 4/5 stars. Enjoy your stay!
My wife and I stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Fairlawn and had a very nice stay. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. It was centrally located to many attractions in Akron and made it easier for us to get around. I thought the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is very good. There are many nice restaurants in the area, but the jewel is Alladins. The cost of the room is moderate, but well worth the value for the location, service, and comfort. There is a small pool for relaxing in and a modest exercise room for those that like to keep up their training. Parking is good and the location of the hotel itself is also a plus--easy to get to, easy to find your way around, and in a safe area.
This is the place to stay for whatever reason brings you to the Akron Area. It is close to Akron, Cuyahoga Falls and even Cleveland is a short ride up I77. The staff is awesome, caring and truly want to make your stay wonderful. Best Shower ever! Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is great...a little bit of everything you could want to start your day. Better coffee then anywhere you could buy it. Clean!!! The only place we stay when we are in this area taking care of family or just for visiting family.

2022-06-11The room was great, shower was amazing hot water and great pressure. Room was clean and comfortable. The lady at the front desk, check in was kind and helpful. We stay at hotels that offer breakfast for a reason. There was barely any food out and what was out was unappetizing. No coffee!!! Come on-do better! Breakfast was a joke. Bring back the waffle machine or toaster with bread or bagels. At least make sure you have plenty of coffee!

2022-05-12Was really impressed by this hotel. The room was updated and felt clean, sheets were clean and bathroom was spotless. Felt like I was at a Hilton Garden Inn or Cambria but didnt have to pay exuberant prices. The breakfast was also surprisingly good!

2022-04-04Staff is very friendly. Room was clean and rather spacious compared to what we have booked in the past with other hotels. Will definitely save this hotel for future stays when in the area for business again. It is right next to the highway and you can hear it in the room but we still slept like babies none the less. There are lots of restaurants to choose from as well.

2021-08-15My family of 4 (2 adults & 2 kids, 12 and 9 years old) recently stayed for 3 nights in early August 2021. It was the perfect spot for our mini-vacation before school starts. From there, we went to the Football HOF and Rock & Roll HOF. We had a junior suite with 2 queen beds and a pull-out sofa bed. It gave us plenty of space to spread out. There was a desk where we set up our laptop and there were several USB chargers. Staff was very prompt in providing extra pillows and bedding. Pool is open but needs to be reserved. Its small but we had no problem reserving a time and had it all to ourselves. Breakfast buffet was open. Had the usual free buffet options, which is exactly what we were looking for to save a little money. Overall, this location is perfect, especially for the price point, an excellent value. Id definitely recommend this location for any traveler, business or leisure.

2021-10-26Marion, at the front desk, was very pleasant and hospitable. She went above what most employees would do. My disabled cousin needed a seat for the shower. One was not available. But, Marion spoke to the Manager requesting that one needed to be purchased for their guests safety. She made sure that someone immediately went out to buy one!!! It was in our shower when we got back from dinner. Thank you, Marion, for your help and care for your guests!!! You are a great asset to the hotel and company!!!We were pleased that the room was very clean also. All the way around, it was a good stay. We will stay again when we come to OH to visit our relatives.

2021-09-13The hotel has the best smell upon entering! The hot breakfast was outstanding. Its just like old times. The room had a very fresh clean smell! I was impressed... The rooms are large.
