I was trying to stay at Sonesta ES suites for a Funeral and there was an issue with my booking. I booked 2 nights at Extended Stay last minute on Wednesday Aug. 18-20 online. The customer service is atrocious. I could never get anyone at the front desk. The lobby is like a cave, as was the walkway to my room. The room , albeit dated, was clean. The bed was very uncomfortable. I was unable to sleep much, so I asked to cancel my reservation and check out at 8 AM. I was instructed that since I booked through a third party I would not be refunded my money. The manager was adamant and rude, stating there were no exceptions. I had no time to argue as I had to attend my funeral.I booked a room at Crown Plaza down the street. It was the exact opposite experience and was cheaper. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs.
Positive: The first room was dirty. The second room was clean but had roaches. And the third room was super small and claustrophobic. Negative: Everything was terrible. Dirty rooms, roaches and bedbugs and terrible customer service and then on top of that the friggin power was out for most of the last night there.
Great place for a family with kids. Bed was comfy, plenty of towels, big room, big windows. I would have given them a five star if their overnight frontdesk was a little bit more friendlier and if their breakfast had some fruits or something other than unhealthy muffins. Great place for one or two nights. Very quiet neighborhood. I would recommend this hotel for pretty much anyone.
While the interior of the room looks appealing at first glance and the price for the room (especially being pet friendly) is super affordable, this place is not worth half of what was paid. We reserved a room that has two queen and a pull out couch and get two queens only, two kids end up s sleeping on the ground. The doors lock was falling of the door so we switch rooms and get a room where the deadbolt doesnt move. The hallway smelled of marijuana. Bottom line the place is less than desirable.
It is an affordable budget option, the lobby is very misleading. I asked for an extra pillow and was told it would be arranged, waited and called back 30 minutes later and was told I had to pick it up. No issues with that; as many hotels follow a self service option , it would just be nice to told that. The room are really depressing and the heating is horrible. Also advertised as breakfast included, but you cant rely on it, as you will have to purchase breakfast from outside. They have no options just horrible coffee and a sealed snack. You get what you payed for I guess.
I was able to check into this Middleburg Heights (CLE Airport) location and it was a delight. Melynda and the staff were courteous, masked and socially distanced. I didnt see the large hotel carts for luggage but the multiple entrances allowed for me to get to my first floor room with ease. I noticed that the rooms were very large and clean, thanks to Carmen and the cleaning crew. This is one of the nicest and largest ESA that I have had a chance to stay in. A drawback is that the wifi is disappointing with its limited and sporatic service. Also, I know that it is winter but some of the exterior entrances are treacherous and icy. Otherwise, this is a great place to rest and enjoy your stay with lots of room. Pet friendly too.
This place isnt the place for honest people, alot goes on, there is no view and if youre a Extended stay customer (more then a month) payments will start to come up missing, theyll add charges but wont tell you what theyre for and then will threaten you if you dont pay them money you dont owe(even if you have proof youve paid) and I had one of their white employee tell me to go back where I came from and as a brown skinned American that was upsetting but what upset me even more was when speaking to the owner and he threatened us( I recorded that conversation) and told us to deal with it or get out! Stay at your own risk
Room was clean enough and staff was helpful and friendly. But the free wireless was a joke. Reminded me of 1200 baud acoustic modems. So slow it was unusable even for browsing. Devices in the room were broken like the clock and tv remote. No glasses were provided. And the room smelled of smoke even though it was supposed to be smoke free.
This hotel is really good because the room is very big and it even has a kitchen! This place it also good because they have everything there. They have pots, coffee makers, a kettle, even a toaster. (You have to go to the front to get those) The only problem there is that they say that they serve breakfast but when you go there its only a small muffin (like a small cupcakes) and coffee. When I compare other breakfasts at other hotels I see a big plate and eggs, fruits, and cereal. They fill you up while with this hotel I had no choice but to go to a restaurant. I say that you should get this hotel but you should only get it because of the big room and kitchen. But you shouldnt get this place because it saids breakfast. Instead of breakfast I think of a snack. Im not so sure but I think breakfast is only up to 11:00. If you have kids, the small muffins would be a perfect snack. Thank you for reading. Have a good rest of your day!
No one is ever going to forget the year of 2020, what could go wrong did ! Our furnace died on us 2 days ago, I was a trooper the first night , but wasnt about to stay cold for 2 nights. We came to the Middleburg Heights Extended America in a lousy tired mood, but Melynda at the front desk was so accommodating , and felt our pain !She was so helpful, courteous, and seemed like she couldnt do enough for us. It was exactly what we needed after our day. We havent had this kind of customer service in a very long time, and with whats going on now in the world, and so much negativity, she was truly our blessing. Thank-you Melynda, we will be back here again because of you !( and if the house is a mess from the guys fixing the furnace, I myself might just come back tonight till it gets cleaned, MOMMAS TIRED ! )Have a good and healthy holiday !Karol & Dominic
Everyone has been great from the very top management to the bottom and everyone in between entire staff is phenomenal the rooms are great they’re big they’re spacious they’re clean the people that work here are just really good people and really care about the customers I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone it is the best Extended StayAmerica. The staff is very warm and welcoming and who could ask for more!!! I absolutely would recommend to anyone including my family if traveling or in the middle of a move this is where you should stay.
Excellent place!!! The genereal manager is very professional and pleasant to communicate with. The staff will go above and beyond to accommodate your stay. Clean rooms that are huge. They look more like an efficiency apartment. Very cozy and clean. Great location, safe place, many restaurants near by, and exceptional staff! Thanks for the wonderful stay and be back soon! This is my new go to hotel when staying in town. Thanks for making my stays very pleasant! Highly reccommend!
First off the front desk staff an the General manager are rude AF! NO HOT WATER IN THE WHOLE HOTEL! and they knew it! They told us they were gonna replace it tomorrow... (convenient..).... the heat in our room barely worked and even tho they were far from sold out they wouldn’t switch our room because they didn’t have any more of our room type available?!!!? Btw... it’s snowing and like 35 degrees! The whole hallway smells like cigarettes and burnt hair... (non-smoking property). If we hadn’t been put here for work we definitely would have demanded a refund! As it is our boss refuses to put us here again because they even told him there was “Nothing they can do”! Worst experience ever!
I stayed here for a short visit (2 nights) and had a great stay. I made my reservations with the staff over the phone and they walked me through the late check-in procedure (I was getting in after midnight). When I arrived, the procedure was just as they said and I had no problems getting into my room. I filled the fridge with groceries and ate several meals in the room - I had everything I needed to cook and eat.I also used the gym facilities. It was small, but pleasant. An elliptical, a treadmill, and a bike with a TV and extra towels in the room. The guest laundry room was clean and bright as well. They had grab-and-go breakfast items and coffee available every morning in the lobby which worked out well for me so I didnt have to fuss with the in-room coffee maker.Overall, it was a very pleasant stay & I will definitely stay there again next time I am in town.
The customer service was very quality. The room was pretty nice as well. The shower was very weak and didnt have much pressure. As well the shower was sort of dirty as if it was not cleaned (some hairs on the side and floor). The bed was pretty average all and all. The wifi worked. The TV was small and some of the channels were very blurry but they did have showtime. Not terrible not great.
My boyfriend and I have been staying here now for 2 months and will be here for a little bit longer for his work. We have had a wonderful experience here during our stay. The staff have been very helpful and professional. We have a puppy and they all love her and always say hi to us and our puppy. They know us by name and make us feel like were more than just customers. Cleaning service is done very well and they really go above an beyond! It is a bit old and not modern, but everything is very clean and kept up. Noise isnt too big of an issue. You can sometimes faintly hear a tv if its loud. It is pet friendly and I know if youre right next door to a barker it can be heard. But the staff is very diligent when a complaint is turned in. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and would happily stay again!
Super friendly staff was a plus but could not make up for the room conditions. The hallways leading to the room had an institutional feel with random smells. Once in the room we found off stains on the sheets, dead bugs in the bathroom, the plunger still had toilet paper from the last person on it and the toilet was installed st a slight side leaning angle.
The hallway smelled strongly of smoke, the room itself also had a bad odor. The shower did not appear to be cleaned, the shower had A LOT of womens hair and floor was sticky and also smelled strong of mens urine. The breakfast was very minimal and lobby was not kept clean either. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL, A LOT OF OTHER OPTIONS FOR A GOOD PRICE!!!!
Exceptional hotel! Easy check-in/out process. Front desk goes above and beyond to accommodate. Natalie, Melynda, and Darlene are very great assets to this company and they are always very welcoming with those bright smiles behind that desk. Very proffessional ladies. Clean and well kept together hotel. It shows these women have a passion for what they do. Great location with many restaurants nearby. Also great rates and the rooms are very spacious and clean. Thank you Extended Stay America and its employees for keeping a well kept together hotel and making my stays enjoyable as possible! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
DO NOT recommend this hotel. List of issues:1) Check in person was incredible rude. Barely spoke to us while checking in.2) Room was not inspected, curtain coming off the rod, cigarette burn on the blanket in a no smoking room, pillow was like sleeping on a rock.3) TV shut off and would not turn back on.4) No house keeping. I was not told until I checked in that there was no house keeping.5) Have to call the front desk for dishes. Not just in the room.6) Iron had burn marks and when I used it there were brown stains on my sweater.7) No hot water. On the second day there was no hot water after 8:00.8) Bed side light did not work9) Scary elevator10) Breakfast was bars and oatmeal. Doesnt sound bad but they did not have dishes for the oatmeal. The catch phase is unfussy! They have that right. Very disappointed!
Absolutely loved at the spacious setup of the rooms which are suites, with Eat-in kitchens, plenty of closet space and drawer space for your things, a sitting area with leather type sleeper sofa and chair, and of course sleeping area with bed and nightstands. Best Extended Stay layout Ive seen yet! However the building is aging and no carpet makes for an echo-y room. Hallways also echo, so noise from other guests gets loud sometimes.
Updated this year (2016), the hotel is very clean and the staff beyond friendly and helpful. We stayed on the 3rd floor and it was very quiet. If you need anything , just ask the front desk and they will provide it ( kitchen equipment, extra towels, hairdryer ,etc). I can not say enough good things about management and staff here. If you need place for a long term stay, that is easy access to everything in the area, this is where I would recommend.
First room, hardwood floor was black. Ran over with a wet towel. Greasy pan left from previous guest in the oven. Fridge was dirty with pink stains. Snot on wall. Second room was dirty as well. Pulled out dresser, old peice of pepperoni and dirty cutlery. Halls and elevators dirty. Just filthy and will not be back to say the least. Needs management or standards to be followed through on. Hotel front desk clerk wearing a white t-shirt.
This place is a dump. Stayed for a month for work. The staff is nice but the hallways stink like trash and fried food. I had to move rooms twice due to sugar ants and we found what appeared to be bed bugs before we left. I asked for reimbursement and was told I would get a voucher for one night. Upper management was never around for me to dispute their “comp” but Ill never stay at an extended stay again weather it’s “free” or I have to pay for it.
For it to be the Extended Stay and for the price of the rooms, I expected way better as far as the amenities in and out the room. The t.v. was way too small, I had a light blown out in my room, and no alarm clock/ radio in the room at all!!! And to top it off the plumbing was messed up in the room and they so called fitness room, omggg! Im not even gone start on that!! Overall the staff was nice tho!
Place was okay, it stenched of cigarettes. The flier says kitchen supplies will be delivered to your room upon request but they made us go down and get it. Once we received it, the utensils and plates and pans were disgusting, I think it was covered in leftover scrambled eggs. They didnt provide sponge for cleaning neither. Also reserved our stay for 4 nights but on my last night our room keys stopped working. Everybody makes mistakes I guess but still gotta mention it. The lady knocked on our room exactly at 11am as well for check out. Atleast provide us a 5min grace period to double check we didnt leave anything. She was very rude as well.
Fantastic hotel! Only stayed for one night this year, but second time staying at a Extended Stay America. Great, homey rooms. Stayed in room 307, and it was larger and nicer than some bachelor apartments Ive visited friends at! The staff was excellent, and very helpful. Cooking utensils and supplies are available if needed. Really makes it seem like more than just a hotel. Will be back next year.
I stayed at extended stay 2 weeks i reserved my room a week in advance and it they gave my room away so i had to get another room which was better than the one i reserved that was a plus.Never the less the washing caught a fire so the whole building had one washer. The cable is horrible Buffer Buffer Buffer. Even when you pay for the upgrade it still buffer. Dont plan to watch your favorite show cause you will loose everytime. Then they charge your room for bad cable.Do what you have to do if you need to stay here but dont get comfortable.
I hate to bash this hotel because the staff was so friendly and pleasant, but the room... Dirty linens, there were hairs all over the pillows and blankets. The towels that I believe were originally white are a ugly dirty shade of yellowish brown. Couch had old and fresh looking weird stains. The bathtub was so dirty with a slippery substance that the only way to shower was by wearing flip flops and throwing all the towels in to be used as a mat. Bathroom fan, if there was one, didnt work. No hair dryer to defog the mirror, let alone dry your hair. There isnt one. Their breakfast consist of a few envelopes of oatmeal, worst tasting than gas station coffee and those gas station style non fresh muffins that comes wrapped in plastic. Carpet on corridor leading to rooms on second floor was dirty and smelly and so was the extra slow moving elevator. The in-room coffee maker mentioned by the other reviewer was non existent on the room i stayed at. No hair dryer, no bathroom fan, no coffee maker. Nothing in the kitchen besides empty refrigerator and stove and trash can. The only trash can in the entire room by the way. None in the bathroom. No cups! Every hotel offers those disposable cups and ice buckets. Not even sure there was an ice machine in the entire hotel. Everything was bad about this place, except for the nice front desk ladies. I feel bad for them, they deserve to work on a better place.
Room was very dirty. Underwear and socks found under bed. Stains, hair and crusty stuff on sheets and blankets. Bathroom floor was filthy. Hallway smelt bad. One night was enough, disgusting. Corporate offered to send coupon for free night stay but then never followed through.
How they get away with out being in compliance with ADA laws I dont know. I just had back surgery, with out my husband I could not have opened the doors! The room needed to be dusted. It has a kitchen, but no dishes, coffee maker, etc. No breakfast was non existent. I would not stay there again.
We checked in and they gave us the wrong key. We walked into someone elses room. They gave us a different room. Then we had left to go downtown for the night. We came back to our hotel room went to get in bed and found a knife under the blanket. Staff was notified and it was taken care of. We ended up leaving the hotel at 2 AM to drive over an hour home. We will never stay here again!
Very nice place to stay, staff was super helpful and the room was big and clean. There is a shopping mall close to the hotel with a food court. Its near to the highway but far enough to stay away from regular traffic. Comfy beds, convenient entrances to the building, small gym, laundry and elevetors. There is a little snack bar in the mornings with granola bars, coffe and tea.
Okay, but the TV gets very few channels and most of them are so blurry they are unwatchable. Even 2 of the 4 local channels have very poor reception. Have 2 Showtime channels but are also too blurry to watch. Asked desk about it because it appears to a hotel wide problem. Either say they are working on it or some just say they dont know the problem. Even the lobby TV has the same issues
Its a contest to see who slams the doors the hardest 24 hours a day!!! The walls shake too. It smells BAD! Between the chemicals for cleaning and Im pretty sure dead rats in the walls Ive decided Ill NEVER stay at an Extend A Stay American ever again! Pictures on priceline are NOT what my room looked like.
I was bitten several times by a bed bug in my room. I was so appalled and upset. They refunded my nights stay, but I had to find another hotel which costed more money. I have stayed at many hotels and never had to experience this. They were supposed to check the room out but they never came while I was there. I stayed in room 123, just in case anyone stays there.
They were inhospitable because they thought we were smoking and we werent. We lived in a house full of smokers and out belongings wreeked of smoke and that was all. We were in the midst of moving from that house and awaiting the okay for our apartment. It was disappointing.
This was the most disgusting excuse for a hotel/motel that Ive ever had the misfortune of being duped into actuality booking.I couldnt spend 5 minutes much less a night here. Cigarette butts in the windowsill, broken fingernails under the bed and the smell was horrible!

2022-03-20Rooms could be cleaner. The cabinet doors under the sink in the kitchen have not been cleaned in a long time. There was grease all on the opening and would stick to your hands. For the price of the room otherwise it was fine. Great location. Close to all.

2022-04-20Hotel staff said I had to use the online reservation system to get the advertised rate. Unfortunately, their online reservation system crashed and I was to find other accommodations. When I returned home, I found that my credit card was charged no show fees for two rooms. I called customer relations and was told that someone from management at that location would call me back to resolve the issue within 2 business days. After waiting for over a week I still have no response, corporate is refusing to assist. Hotel management is refusing refund claiming that the national computer system is not their problem.Do not stay here unless you want them to steal from you too.

2022-06-27The hotel rooms are in need of updates, very old and tired looking. The room itself was dirty, there was old food left in the kitchen drain strainer, coffee pot was not clean and the floor had old jelly beans in the corner. The furniture, lamps and light fixtures were all dirty. When we checked out the lady behind the front desk that had a shower cap on her head was very bothered by the fact I asked her if we could check out. Very disappointed!

2021-12-13This hotel is really quiet and calm considering this is a place where a lot of people call their place of residence. Marc & Sunni, the front desk staff, were very professional and so pleasant. They were very accommodating to my requests and when I informed them of the bugs that I found in my room I was offered a discount on my total bill.I really do wish I could say I would go back, but the bugs really freaked me out and if I could have left and gotten another room elsewhere I surely would have! That is one area they definitely need to work on with the extermination if the entire premises regularly!

2021-09-27Ill update after our stay is completely over. The cleaning girls are super nice.Front desk you have to hollor for a lot of times, because they constantly have the sign up that states sorry away right now helping another guest. As a long term guest of 4 months roughly. It is annoying when the washers and dryers go down at least once a week.It makes it really hard especially when you are in the medical field and have to wear a certain color scrubs. Either the card readers more times or not go down , then have to use quarters which is hard to come by. For 72 rooms there ia only 3 washers and 4 dryers. I wish it was big and nice like the one in Texas. Laundry on each floor of the hotel and it was free to guests. And they did the grab and go breakfasts. When we booked the room we were told there was goinf to be grab and go breakfast. And hubs was excited. The front staff are nice for the most part. Its great for the pnes that actually get to know their guests by name. But some xcan still be bit nore cheery

2021-11-09Negative: When I searched for a room I used the breakfast included feature. It is also on the website that they have it. When we got there I was told no breakfast or even coffee. That was one reason I picked this. It¿s so nice to not have to go out for bre

2022-02-07No breakfast, no steaming quality internet, no amenities... oh and no kitchen ware in suites with kitchens. Not even an ice machine. Wow! ESA slacking in the north
