Esporta Fitness in other cities:
Ive been a member for over 3 years Id really like it as a workout facility, but the pool area is filthy. Maintenance for the pool is sketchy at best. And always check for toilet paper when you go to the restroom. If youre not using the pool area then its a great place to go.
Excited that I established a membership today! The ability to bring in people with me was a plus. I love that they have a pool and basketball court. My sons love b ball and I want to swim! The pleasant young man when assisted me was extremely helpful with information. Personal training will definitely be something I will explore!! Super excited.
Not only do they not care about their female customers- but they’re simply unsafe. Told the front desk multiple times on different occasions about men following women in the gym and taking photos of them. They don’t care. One woman was even followed home and assaulted- none of their locations care.
This gym is filthy last straw was there was a roach in my locker. Can’t find weights you need because no one returns them. Also no one strips the bars after using equipment am tired of looking for weights and spending my time taking someone else’s plates off. My time is valuable. Joined another gym today
I will never get a membership at LA Fitness, they are the most confusing, non communicative, disorganized gym I’ve ever been to. For three weeks I’ve been attending this gym as a guest of a friend and the first time I came in was pleasurable and since I’ve worked out 3-4 times a week with no issue ... all of sudden on Monday I walk in and this lady asks for my ID even though I’ve never been asked for it outside of my initial visit due to recent theft she said then required me to sign a waiver and when asked why I’ve never had to do this the 12+ times I’ve been here and the response well you should’ve been so .... well alright I ran to my car and grabbed my Id and went to continue my workout ... today I walk with in with my friend and a different lady is at the front and now all of sudden my friend doesn’t have guest privileges on his $30 membership even though I’ve been coming here for THREE WEEKS NOW !!!! Then proceeds to tell him that he would have to pay FIFTY DOLLARS a month to include guest privileges and when asked how I’ve been here for almost a month her response was “They must not have noticed” WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HECK !!! We will never be back !
This place is filthy!!!. Management is unprofessional and no-compliant. With the spread of the COVID /Delta variant I would expect cleaning bottles, paper towels and staff keeping the area clean etc. The shower stalls are filthy and cluttered with trash, hair balls, faucets missing, water backs up in the drains. etc…I’ve left several messages for management however, I never received a reply. I won’t be surprised if they close in the near future. Also very few people wear masks during this critical time. Very disappointed.
They will charge for service you might never receive it use, not explain contracts to anyone and mislead you, or leave out information read everything thoroughly no matter what they tell you this place is not to be trusted. Very deceptive business practices in my personal experience, I even received charges months after I canceled my membership which took me two months to accomplish as well.
Like this gym always have, but never in my life have I ran into such a rude employee as Emily the front desk worker as she was closing the gym. Obviously I don’t work there and don’t know the closing procedures but I’m pretty sure your not supposed to stand at the door way to the locker room and heckle it’s members at 10 pm or prior to that to get them to leave sooner.
Customer service is awful. We called to cancel personal training services, were assured they were cancelled and continued to be charged. Then while discussing that had the manager hang up mid call. The only way to be sure they won’t charge your card is to go in person and get a cancellation email and even then you will likely still be charged one more month.Go to crunch or anywhere else. So much easier to deal with. I wouldn’t recommend it.
I came in on a free trial. I was a bit disappointed in the customer service. I had to ask for a tour and it wasn’t great. I didn’t get much information about group fitness which I was very interested in. The equipment is in okay shape, but I was concerned about the lack of cleaning supplies available to wipe off my equipment. Didn’t see any towels or spray bottles and wasn’t told about any COVID procedures. Out of the 20 people I saw on the gym floor, I was the only one with a mask. I understand not wanting to workout with one, but walking around the locker rooms and buildings there was a lack of COVID safety. Very disappointing. There was okay equipment and lots of space to workout but I definitely won’t be back.
My son (a minor) went in to cancel his membership but they continued to charge us. When my wife called to ask about it they said it was put on hold not canceled. When we suggested otherwise, the lady said the notes in the system were attributed to a name that doesn’t work there. She claimed to have worked there 5 years and be the manager who wouldn’t give her name! So my 17 yr old son hacked into your company computers and put in note that was incorrect and created a fake employee profile all just to cancel a membership!?! Right! Crooks.
Manger threw away my book bag with beats earphones in them, new iPhone charger, and other earphones. I called and confirmed my bag was still there. They even said that they would write it down for me. THEY EVEN TOLD ME EVERYTHING THAT WAS IN MY BAG. When I got there the manger threw my bag away. Never got refunded for any of my items.
I loved this Gym but when they changed to E Sporta they scammed us loyal folks. New members now pay 5-20 dollars less then us La fitness members and the way management explains it is by telling you well you have access to every LA fitness like bro in this area there’s only E Sporta now. They also try to get you to pay a new member fee although you’ve been there for a while.
This place is a joke. I used to work out here a few years back. I had to go through this fitness interrogation from a guy who I was surprised they let work there. I was basically told i need to become more ambitious about my fitness. The first time I didnt realize that this was a part of the brand sales pitch so I walked out. The manager called me back and begged I reconsider. I did, but then after realizing crunch was cheaper and had better hours (pre-covid), I switched. Ive been back more recently on a guest pass with a friend. Their only sell point over crunch is the pool and basketball court. The equipment is still a little older. I will likely never pay to go back to LA Fitness.
This gym has seriously gone downhill. There are way too many members so you are never able to use the equipment you would like to. Also, everything is always broken. 6 of the 8 stair master machines are broken currently and there are at least 12 treadmills that dont work. Ridiculous.
Been a member of this gym since it opened. For years I have been given good customer service until this day. Customer service and management are different and do not care about customer satisfaction. The club charged my account an extra $10.70 for a family member that I took off of account 2 years ago. They allowed this member to rejoin the gym and charged me a fee without any notification. It seems that the primary holder of account doesnt have to be notified due to fine print in contract and anyone that is taken off can come back and simply reapply without primary holders knowledge or consent. When asked for the $10.70 back or lose the $70 a month in payment I was told that they will not adhere to threats and told me to cancel my membership. Which I did. The prior management was decent working with you. This management team is beyond horrible. My money belongs to a new gym now. Be careful of dealing with this management team. The little manager that wears the glasses cares nothing about righting wrongs and she has a very nasty attitude.
I don’t usually spend the time to write reviews, but in today’s world they are crucial to your business, it’s first Impressions and bringing people into your establishment. I just wanted to say how much I have been impressed with LA Fitness from the get go. My dad was in the gym industry my whole life until he retired a few years ago and can recognize a well oiled machine when I see one and this one has not disappointed once! From the customer service, to gym cleanliness, the best atmosphere to maintaining the equipment (which by the way is normal to have maintenance on it does not mean it’s a bad machine right off the bat). Just wanted to give a big appreciative shout out and say keep up the good work and I look forward to coming in every single time. It makes my day better getting an awesome workout in with fellow gym members who also respect the gym as well. Carry on LA fitness I’m absolutely on your team! 👍💪
Gym is great, the equipment and facilities are largely excellent, but the basketball court is always extremely dusty, so often times I need to go get the dry mop myself and clean it to ensure decent footing. Staff is very good and have always been helpful. Does get busy though around 4-5 on the weekdays.
The only reason I didn’t give this one star is because the new employee I spoke to was really sweet. My sister and I hadn’t even used the three day pass yet. But we were there to try out the swimming pool and thinking about joining. As soon as we mentioned we had to try the pass first and check out other gyms before signing up for a membership, one of the higher ups started asking us a million questions. He was trying to manipulate us into joining right there on the spot. Umm excuse me, we both just said we wanted to try it first. Isn’t that the point of the 3 day pass? Once my sister said we could leave, he backed off and let the nice guy continue to talk. I’ve had a membership in the past and these pushy, jerks are not unusual for managers. That is why I cancelled my membership in the first place. If they stopped trying to take advantage of me then I would have stayed. The facilities are awesome and the prices aren’t bad. Just don’t even do the training unless you can afford it for a whole year.
Excellent gym. Its so spacious and has great equipment! I rarely ever have to change my routine if one machine is being used. Multiple smith machines and squat racks... awesome! Most members are extremely nice and respectful. The janitor keeps the gym very clean and people tend to wipe down their machines after using them. I LOVE New Life Cafe that is by the racquetball courts. They have delicious smoothies, all kinds of protein and bars to buy, and pre-workout by the scoop.
Went in as a guest to see if I liked the facility and if I wanted to join. The gentleman that helped me was rude and didn’t seem willing to work with me on the initiation fee at all. Not to mention the huge amount of people at this facility. It made it very hard to test out everything and felt very intimidating. I ended up going to a different LA fitness location, where they lowered the initiation fee substantially and the overall environment was a million times better.
9/6/19 update: I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau and not sure if it was that or all my other complaints that finally got a reaction. A district manager or someone like that called two days after I finally filed for cancellation saying they were going to give me the proper access at the price I was quoted.Honestly, not going to take it. This has been too much of a pain to stay and Im just going to go with another, more affordable, better hours gym that will be a little further away.8/4 update, no response.I signed up here visiting a friend and was told I would have access to the signature series clubs since that is the one closest to where I actually live. Get home, start going to the gym, and start getting charged an inter-club fee.Ask the front desk why and find out that my membership is not signature series, sales rep probably lied. Call this club to find out why and am told that the sales rep who signed me up no longer works there and that the management would fix my account so that I would have access to the signature clubs and pay no extra.Couple weeks later Im still getting the fees, find no change in membership, call again and am told the same thing as last time. Couple weeks later same thing! Email support, told me to go to the club down the street who tells me managers cant even Do what this club management had been telling me they would. So I got lied to be the sales rep and the managers at this club multiple times. If this is some error feel free to contact me and if its actually resolved Ill change the review. Be wary of extra good deals from this club being faked to make sales numbers.
Your general manager told me that Ohio rules about gym reopening prohibits LA Fitness from even suggesting that patrons wear masks. This is false! I looked at the official guidelines and it says facial coverings are “recommended but not required.” You are not providing a safe place for us to exercise when people without face coverings are huffing and groaning their spit droplets into the room. Unless you change your policy about masks, you will not come close to the level of participation you did before the pandemic.
I’m visiting Cincinnati from Chicago for the week and needed a guest pass to the gym. Usually, LA does daily or monthly guest passes, but the guy at the front desk was nice enough to work with my travel dates! So nice and flexible. There was no pushy sales pitch about signing up longer than I needed and spending an unnecessary amount of money. The gym is two floors and has everything I need!!
This is the best LA Fitness I have ever been to. They have FIVE rowers. Like 8 machines with a pull up bar. They have TWO studios so one is usually available for things like jump rope or wall handstands. They have plenty of room to stretch. And a functional area with kettle bells, battle rope, and medicine balls. Its clean and the lockers room is larger than usual. I am a very pleased customer.
Ive been going to LA Fitness for almost three years and the only reason Im still a member is the location and the price. There arent many gyms in the area that will give you $20-30/month rates and offer the variety they provide. Honestly, I could agree with every review below, but here is my review:- The membership did not start off right when I was charged over $100 for signing up for a personal trainer that I did not request. I spent over an hour on the phone trying to get reimbursed and transferred to a Florida office who finally reimbursed me after not so nice words were said.-The machines are dirty, outdated and at least several broken at a time.- Dont go at busy times as this place is SWAMPED.- Staff is not friendly or helpful and obviously dont really love their jobs.- Its pretty much the gym of Hyde Park, Oakley, Mt. Lookout as you will constantly see friends and people you know. Makes the classes fun when you can rally a few friends to come with.- I will say, the classes make the membership worth it as I love the spin, yoga and pilates classes. However, they could definitely use some AC and fans in the classrooms. The instructors make a difference, but it keeps me coming back!Overall, 2/5 stars because I would leave their gym in a heartbeat for the right place and price.
Sales people are totally dishonest. They insisted for me to renew my Membership when I cancelled the first time and when I was there I specifically asked if I will be able to workout in other locations, the answer was YES. Now i’m finding out that the location I am able to workout should be located in Ohio. Looking back at my emails when I signed up, the offer that made me go back in club to sign up, it specifically said on the offer « 0$ down, 29.99$ multi-club multi-state » so in the couple months LA Fitness changed the type of access I signed up for.
They are extoring their members.Esporta is still owned by LA Fitness. But because they rebranded this one club, you cant make any changes to your membership without canceling and then paying a $100 membership fee. Absolute bull! The general manager just shrugged her shoulders and said thats the situation, completely unwilling to even try to work with me.Update: After spending 55 minutes on the phone with LA Fitness corporate office, I learned that my membership IS downgradable to an LA Fitness single-club membership, and the $9.99 Esporta membership excludes all the club amenities, NONE of which the general manager mentioned. I wish there were better options than clubs like this!
Let me start by saying I do have a membership that allows me to go to any LA Fitness. This location, as well as the others, delivers on the quality that I expect from LA Fitness and speaks to why I have a membership with them. This one is getting 4 stars only because I feel with as much foot traffic as it gets, it should have more equipment. Most LA Fitness locations are well equipped for the amount of patrons they receive. This is the only one where I may have to adjust my workout based on whats open.
After years of gym memberships, this is my only negative review. I routinely post compliments and gratitude for good service. Oakley LA Fitness has the rudest staff, most dishonest approaches ( see the example of misrepresentation), dirty and odor ridden locker rooms and terrible customer service.A few weeks ago, my daughter came in from college. She wanted to work out together. The year prior, the staff there messed up our pass for her. This time, we chose to call the Friday evening prior to assure the pass was in order and to sign up for spinning for Saturday. The young lady who answered assured me that the pass was in order but limited to one every six months (despite that my original membership noted unlimited passes for our teens; which I have a copy of). We had not used a pass in over a year. We arrive 15 minutes early for the class and began to check in. Anne at the front desk, in a loud voice, proclaims that my membership doesnt allow a pass. I asked her to call the Bellevue location as they know us well and can assure her that we have family passes. I informed her that we never have the issue at Bellvue or Montgomery. She then, as if she is the GM, asserts that she will call over there and tell them they should not be letting us in. She didnt give us the chance to explain that we always get the pass early there, without a problem. After she allows for at least 15 people to hear her false assertions, she then brings her manager Jeff over and he says they will allow her in this one time. So utilizing the membership I pay for is somehow a gift. My daughter looked humiliated as she stood there and we were ten minutes late for a class we arrived early for. My daughter works with special needs kids and is not faint of heart. Shes resilient and difficult to upset and she was near tears. People kept asking us why the staff member was behaving this way. I am understating the rude tone, expressions etc. After our class, several people approached to say how they overheard it all and were shocked someone could act that way. Two people encouraged that we file a complaint. After contacting a corporate manager to discuss it, I learned that Jeff is the sales manager.P.S: The spinning instructor was wonderful and she welcomed us in. It was the only pleasant aspect of the entire experience.
I have never been so frustrated with a company. My husband and I have been active members at this location for about a year. We have also been training members and have spent a significant amount of money toward their program. Due to personal reasons my husband and I decided to cancel our membership and buy put our fitness and training contracts. We have spent over a week going back and forth between the club and the corporate office to simply buy out our contract. We have gone into the club twice and have been assured that all accounts have been canceled but continue to get harassing calls from corporate who tell us otherwise. The club staff have directly lied to us over and over and it honestly feels like a ploy to get more of our money. I have never been so disappointed in giving my money to a business for so long. I will never ever return to an LA Fitness.
The staff is very friendly especially the manager (Luke) who is very awesome!! And helped my family to join. The classes are really great and fun, I’m so glad I recently joined, and keeping one of my “New Years Resolutions”. The showers can use some updating, but overall a very good facility. Love that there’s so many things to do here and is in a great central location! -RS
This facility is super clean and all of the staff are very helpful and accommodating. There’s a variety of classes, cycling, weights, maintained and an assortment of equipment and basketball. There’s a pool and Jacuzzi ! I think that’s great for people who might be training for triathlons or for people who need to non-weight bearing exercise d/t injuries. There’s definitely something for every potential member.
Pretty bad, I liked it for one month then they peer pressured me into a personally trainer and completely ruined my motivation to go to the gym. One thing they dont tell is about the lemon law you have 3 day after sign up fo a personal trainer to cancel it. Anyway then when trying to cancel your trainer their is only one guy, who is the hardest person to get ahold of, who can tell you how much you still owe. Anyways dont come here its just not good.
Really friendly staff. I love my personal trainer and have been getting much more value out of my membership for it! Ive had great results since becoming a member of this gym and would recommend it for anyone wishing to see improvements! I love the variety of classes.
This location was pretty dirty pre-lockdown. It didnt bother me too much then, but there is no way I would trust they are keeping it sanitized now. The worst part is, I called to cancel my membership thinking I could re-up after we get a vaccine and they said I had to come in person to cancel. During a health pandemic! I am sure they are counting on people not wanting to come in to milk some extra cash. What a scummy company.
I have been a member at LA Fitness for over 10 years and have gone to many different clubs in many different cities all over the US. This is my current home gym as I just recently purchased a home in Pleasant Ridge. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the best), I would give this gym around a 6.The gym is just an Okay gym. Nothing great but also nothing that horrible about it. Equipment is in decent shape, the club is generally clean (thought i wipe everything down before and after I use it) and the staff are very friendly. My biggest issue with the gym is how busy it is. I am constantly having to change up my workout on the spot so I am not having to wait on stuff. Granted I go to the gym after work (5pm) and I live in a heavily populated area so a lot of that just comes with going to the gym when I go and there is nothing really they can do about it.This gym could really be improved by enlarging the free weights/plated weight machine area and lose some of their machines on the other side that nobody seems to ever use. Would greatly benefit by having more squat racks, more benches and more cables. They have a ton of cardio equipment which is where a lot of gyms lack. Nice for days where you want to do cardio but most do not belong to a gym just to hop on a treadmill.Like I said, this isnt a horrible gym by any means (that would be Crunch across the street). It is much better than the other gyms in the area but it isnt perfect.
I’ve been working at this LA fitness for 6 months so far and it’s a super nice facility! The staff is nice and welcoming and there are tons of machines and free weights. I have the state membership which is great because I can go to gyms all over the state depending on where I am.
Updated from top to bottom. New machines; carpet is gone and clean wood like flooring is in place. Free weight area is more efficient and organized as well. Plenty of cardio optons on the second floor. The pool has also been renovated. Its a busy branch of LA Fitness but I had no major issues getting to the equipment I wanted to utilize.
I was told I HAD to sign up with an LA Fitness trainer to attend the gym. Later, I found out its just high pressure sales by also telling you they can cure internal medical issues when they can not. Ive become disabled since then and after supplying them with three doctors notes, the corporate office for the trainersrefuses to allow a contract cancellation. Attorney General has been notified. Also, there is NO sanitizing of equipment or mask being worn by staff at the front counter. Just wouldnt want you to be a victim too.
Dirty. Dirty. Dirty. Its a great place but its so dirty. The equipment is rarely cleaned well. It smells like ass crack and dirty feet when you go in the locker room and the bathroom will make your eyes water. Not all LA Fitness or gyms in general are like this. They sell WAY too many memberships. It gets WAY too crowded in the evening and worse on the weekends. Dont think about finding open equipment that you want to use on the weekend, if you can even find a parking spot. If Cross Roads is in session, they allow all the patrons to take up the entire LA Fitness parking lot. They even park all along the curbs, making it difficult to navigate the parking lot.Always high pressure sales. Dont think about bringing a friend.
I was an employee at this LA Fitness gym as a Janitorial staff, it was great at first cause I was putting in a lot of work in the gym by cleaning up after people until the manger name Dan had started taken my hours away from me without saying anything to me. As a worker I was unhappy and wasnt comfortable cause when a situation happens and you needed Dan, he will never answer his phone, and he was stupid enough to believe some other workers from a different department that had lied and had gotten me fired. So if you are trying work at a gym, I wouldnt recommend this one and also the one in Harpers Point.
Not the best gym. I really only attend for the indoor pool, so I can work on swimming during the winter. Honestly, the equipment is super outdated, and there are always pieces of equipment that are broken (some for multiple days/weeks). It seems like theyre more interested in up-selling their clients than in maintaining what they have.
Worst salespeople ever. Very dishonest. Make it seem like it is fairly easy to cancel a membership at anytime and when I tried to they kept claiming no manager was in to help me ever and would tell me they could not help me. Had to go through credit card company to get charges taken off. DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM. Is not worth the money at all and pool was always nasty.
Not my favorite LA fitness, basketball court is always in use in full court games, with people taking them way too seriously. The actual gym itself is constantly packed, and the the clientele tends to be pretty rude. I recommend going to the one in Newport. Also the bathrooms are never very clean.
I have been member of LA fitness for more than one year, I have always paid for my membership in full for an year. On October 15th, 2018 I went to gym around 6:30pm. I left my stuff in the locker and locked it. After my spinning class I went to the locker room around 7:45, I found out that someone broke into my locker and took everything away that includes my iPhone, wallet, car keys, apartment keys, jackets and a backpack. The person who stole my stuff shopped for more than $2000 on my cards. The police was called and this case is still under investigation. First of, this thief has to be a member at LA fitness or there was a serious breach in the security. Secondly, the police informed me that this is not the first case at this gym and that made me more angry because knowing that something was already going on, LA fitness took no precautionary measures, they did not inform the members either by email or by putting notice to make members aware that there have been theft reports and people should not leave stuff in the locker. If I knew something was going on I would have never left my stuff behind in the first place. The worst part, I asked them to refund my membership fee since I don’t feel comfortable going back, they REFUSED! Also, they had no regard for what I have been through. Putting in your contract that you are not responsible may help you legally but the you behave with your members and how you don’t regard what a person went through at your premises will not help your business. So many people had told me not to join this gym but it was convenient for me so I ended up doing that. Please don’t go to this gym. They don’t care about the members at all! I am posting this so that you people can make informed decision. Remember that the thief was able to cut the lock at a time when the gym is super packed! Someone have to be really bold to do that.
Working out at LA Fitness has been a great experience for me. The locker rooms & gym are very clean, & there’s a large variety of equipment to use. I’d reccomend this gym to anybody looking for serious fitness results, because this is the first gym I’ve been able to achieve my goals at.
Rude staff. They hang up your phone and put you into phone blacklist when you are trying to get refund of personal training due to body injuries. When you come to the gym, they smile to you and tell you lies again and again, and promise deadlines that never fulfilled.
The staff members are incredibly rude. One staff member once followed me out of the gym and grabbed me. Management did nothing, and did not indicate any interest, even though there was video surveillance of the employee following me out of the gym.The machines and televisions are frequently broken. This is not a gym I feel safe going to, and would not want to bring my family here.
For a more serious lifter, this gym has great energy about it and there is a large variety of equipment to enable modifying workouts to hit anything, any way you need. Theres a lot of knowledge and helpful lifters in this gym and I have made many friends here. The BIGGEST issue with this gym is that its a commercial gym, and they could not care less about how your workout flows. They oversell memberships and generally, after any holidays and during the colder weather, the gym is completely packed and you will have to wait for equipment to open up, every time you try to move. A typical hour workout can easily be doubled.Other issues concerning this gym include an overwhelming amount of the staff is less than enthused about their jobs. Ive seen trainers texting, sighing, rolling their eyes at clients who need motivation and energy to push themselves. The facilities are poorly maintained. Several times a week, there will be absolutely no paper towels and the disinfectant smells like watered down Windex.
I live in oakley and this gym is convenient. I enjoy going although there are times I stay away due to being crowded. If I want to get a good work out in, I go before 10am or after 7pm. I also have a personal trainer and I think hes awesome! I have no had a bad experience there and the staff are helpful.
We like going to this Gym. Cleanness is ok. Spinning and yoga classes are really professional. They have a 25m swimming pool jacuzzi and dry saunas in the dressing room. This is one of the biggest Gym in Cincinnati you can go to. One annoying problem is they are pushy on selling you everything. Overall it is a good place and has everything you possibly need.
Water in pool is consistently cold. Complaints by swimmers are routinely ignored by front desk, manager and regional manager. GM refused name and email of RVP. Issue has never been addressed successfully. Trainers try to upsell sessions. Tonight some one tried to sell lipstick.Silver Sneakers provided free membership until this year when it is dropping the program. I enjoyed the water aerobics. In trying to renegotiate a 50% membership, I was given several different monthly rates. In addition I was given a $99 quote for initiation.. When I returned today, I was given a $149 fee. I caught it five minutes after leaving the Oakley branch.Employees tried to tell me that I wasnt given a $99 rate by Blake. He admitted that he did and was pushing me with a coupon. He simply wanted to make a sale.LA Fitness would not adjust my initiation fee, so I tore up the paperwork and asked for cancellation. Do not use this branch or any other. They are salesmen trying to sell memberships at the highest rate, personal training programs and increase their revenue.Unethical.
I love this gym! I mostly train with the free weights and machines, and they have plenty of options for whatever muscle group you choose to work on. i dont really care when it comes to the staff being friendly because im there to workout, not be a chatter box. In my experience though the staff has always been friendly and willing to help with any questions. I just show up, scan my membership card, put my headphones in, and get to work. Couldnt care less if someone says hi to me or not. overall review - GREAT GYM!!! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Terrible experience with the sales staff. They are the classic sleezy gym salespeople. We were told complete lies about our contract including that we could get our money back during the first month if we had any issues with the gym. Manager was rude and pushy about pricing. Gym itself is average. Lots of equipment but crowded gym.
TERRIBLE FACILITY- I was harassed by another member of the club and assaulted. The staff did nothing - Antoinette from aquacise literally just watched it happen and ran away- the other swimmers came to my aid.You can ask Brittany Steelman and Devyne Davis why they allow such behavior in their facility. Very very disappointing. Find another gym
Great at first, really nice facility and classes. Then I realized that when my wife and I were signed up over the phone, the staff member put me in a binding contract for a year with a payput option of 100 dollars to cancel. Have spoken with 4 staff members / managers in the last 2 weeks and have receieved confirmation that my refund has been sent. Found out today with my 5th call, that Im required to pay 100 dollars to buy out and cancel my so call contract that I was illegally signed up for.Terrible customer service from GM directly, will end up having to cancel my card to relieve the issue. Waiting to see if the manager today resolved the issue, but will send follow up review dependant on GMs timeliness. So far wouldnt reccommend the location to anyone.
So so busy, especially in January. Tends to calm down within a few weeks but the parking lot has been an absolute zoo these last few weeks.Half of the open area they used to have is now taken up for personal training area so theres not much of an option outside of the weight room to do free weight training if there are classes going on (ie yoga, kickboxing etc)... I think they sell too many memberships and could definitely use another LA in the Oakley/Hyde Park area. Its not so busy that it deters me from going. Training staff, managers are all very friendly.
Dishonest sales people! Not surprised to find other comments saying the same thing! The guy (Devin) told me it was a one time charge for my parents for two month membership. But I continued to charge for three months. I went back to talk to them and he said he never said that (Wow!) I had to go thru my credit card company to get the money back. Don’t sign up here if you haven’t. They will drain your pocket by all kinds of fees and renews!
Easy location to access with machines to accommodate most people for a quick workout. However, the gym is filled with useless machines which are spread apparent to make it seem lile they have more than they really do. Most machines are also low quality and out dated. If youre really into working out I wouldnt recommend it since they only have 3 squat racks and area to deadlift or do any moderate to advanced workouts. The only reason Im still going here is becasue of the high up front cost you have to pay making my current monthly payments seem nuch more than their advertised$29.95 monthly rates.
This LA fitness definitely gets a good bit of traffic, but it never seems too overwhelmed to get a decent machine or stretching space. The pool is well-maintained and it has a variety of classes (though you will need to sign up and get a space because they do fill up!). It doesnt have a track or some of the variety of equipment that you see up in the flagship West Chester site, but its clean, there are a lot of machines and the workers are polite.
They have, by far, the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. They signed me up for a membership over the phone and conveniently disregarded the promotional membership I was eligible for. Now, a year of paying an extra $10 per month, they will not cancel my membership over the phone and will not refund me for the remainder of the month I have paid for.Im so glad Im cancelling my membership there and will not have to deal with them ever again.
Be careful. They will make it difficult to cancel your membership beyond belief. They will also lie during the application to get a membership, with terms not being honored. It is beyond the biggest accumulation of corporate slime you can find in one gym. Any of the redeeming qualities such as a pool, basketball court, or raquetball will be void by the constant use and wait time to use them. A membership to a dumpster would be more accommodating.
Ive been a member now for roughly three years. My membership price is pretty reasonable. The facility is well equipped. Overall my membership experience has been a good one. I have recommended LA Fitness to people who are interested in working out and do not require much personal attention. With that said, over the past several months, I have noticed a decline in the cleanliness of the facility. Empty soap and papertowel dispensers, overflowing trash cans, sanitation solution by the cardio equipment empty. Time and time again I bring these concerns to staff. Usually their response is OK thanks....well take care of it only to resume their internet surfing on their smart phones. My suggestion to staff at LA Fitness in Oakley, would simply be ....if youre in sales or personal training or management, put your smart phone down for a moment and assist the housekeeping staff in keeping the club clean. IF not, I predict the club will go the way of Ballys, Mores fitness and other regional and national workout chains. Down the toilet.
Way too crowded. If you like to go to the gym after work 5 pm to 8 pm, be prepared to stand around and wait for equipment. There used to be a location near this one in Norwood but they closed it. Plenty of space for more equipment and I was hoping they would move some of the equipment over but it didnt happen.I have been a member for about 6 years, if I knew what was going to happen with the club and how crowded it would get when they closed the other gym I wouldnt have signed up again.Cleaning and refilling paper towels/sanitizer would also help.
The only thing this place has going for it is the cleanliness of the facility. The rest is nowhere worth the price of admission. The staff is subpar and are all pretty much looking for a sale as opposed to getting to know what their prospective clients goals. The facility is very poorly equipped to meet the demand of their clientele. Weights are often scattered throughout the facility, and often times, you ended up waiting for an available machine both lifting and cardio wise.Dont let the convenience fool you. Take your time and look elsewhere.
Declining quality. When the LA fitness shut down a few miles away, this one became overcrowded with new members. Also, the cleanliness is some of the worst Ive seen. One night there was literally no paper towels in the whole gym, on the floor or the bathrooms. The mens bathroom is the most foul smelling mens room Ive ever been in. On the one good side, there is plenty of equipment and the racquetball courts are almost always empty. If things do not improve, Ill be leaving.
I honestly dont know why people are so critical of this gym (or LA Fitness in general). The facilities are some of the best around for the price. The only gym that I like more in the area is the one of the campus of the University of Cincinnati. The staff at this location is friendly and there are several new machines. There are TONS of machines as well so you should not have to wait for anything if you come during most times. For example, coming in the morning before work I have not experienced a wait time for any machine. I understand some people may have had a bad experience here, but to this point I have not and I am going on my 3rd year with LA.
OK gym. Big, never crowded when I go.Do not give them access to any account or credit card. It allows for them to easily take your money without control. Use a pre-paid Visa to sign up and pay monthly with check or cash. I originally was told I could have credit union send them monthly checks. The first check was sent and not cashed. When I inquired, I was told the check was shredded and that do not accept mailed checks. Was I lied to by the sales staff? Perhaps. I will give them some more time to see if any other financial issues come up.
I called in after reading the reviews anticipating a large struggle with the desk service but instead, I spoke to very friendly staff who answered all of my questions and set up an in-person meeting with me to discuss different memberships and things that the facility had to offer. Over all, its a very new and clean facility with everything you need for all different kinds of fitness. Im looking forward to future workouts there.
Probably the least hygenic gym ive been to. They serve a lot of people and have a large facility, which is nice, but they have maybe 1.5 spray bottles for the entire gym. With amount of people working out in that gym, its really disgusting. Ive thought about leaving several times.
Still a huge fly infestation in the womens locker room and the equipment sucks. Shower reminds me of prison. The partially clear curtains dont even offer the illusion of privacy and the total lack of any showerhead means youre basically being sprayed with a firehose. Ive been to most of the locations in the Cincinnati area and am baffled by some of the design decisions made for this place. One of the flies was on me in the shower, Im going to be canceling my membership. I have been a member since the Urban Active days, and good God do I miss their management. Unacceptable. Oh and the flies arent a cleaning problem - the cleaning staff is doing fine. Its a plumbing problem and a pest problem that no amount of bleach is going to fix.
I hate you! This is all what I can say about your dishonesty and dirtiness. You are liars!!!Especially this trainer Nate that you have.LA fintess made my summer terrible when I found out that they made me sign a contract for a whole year without explaining it to me.I tried many times to contact them but there was no help. All what they care about is getting your money with NO MERCY. I dont recommend this Gym at all. Dont be stupid like me. PLEASE!
Everything a good gym needs....plenty of machines, free weights (heavy dumbbells!), cardio options, pool....in a pleasing open floor plan...without the needless bells and whistles and hype of a place like planet fitness. just what a serious workout requires and in a clean environment.
Online, it should say whether or not your sauna is under maintenance. Their sauna is currently under maintenance for like 2 weeks starting over a week ago. I go here at least once a week for the sauna. I hate planning my workout, meals and shower all with the intent of using the sauna only to realize I cannot use it by walking up to it.
The sales people here are completely unprofessional and pull the classic scummy tactics. They tried to tell me I had to pay to activate a free guest pass that they had given me. Instead of being reasonable they then immediately tried to sell my guest a full blown membership. We ended up leaving to go to the YMCA down the street which is also much less crowded.
It is generally very busy, but during peak hours it is hard to even get into the gym. The cardio equipment is mediocre. Ive had more than one treadmill die on me when I start to run faster. The only reason I still go is the swimming pool, weight machines, and heavy bags. If Im desperate Ill go to a spinning class, but the bikes often slip when I put it into the heaviest gearing. Ill get my cardio at home before I tried to do anything here.
I was blatantly lied to about the terms of a personal training contract by the sales representative I talked to. I was informed that, since I was only going to be here for the summer for an internship, that I would simply need to mail in a form in August and I would only be billed for 3 months. However, when I actually did this, I found that they still fully intended to charge me for a full years duration for personal training. Be smarter than me and dont believe a word they say if you decide to take your business here, fully read everything they put in front of you unless you want to be out a substantial amount of money.
Ive had a membership here for over a year, and I love it. I dont see me switching anytime soon. The gym does get busy around the peak time of 5-7pm M-F, but it doesnt really bother me that much. If something is taken, I do another workout and come back when its available, or just ask to join in with whoever is using the machine. In defense of people complaining about them being pushy about joining their personal training contracts, Im in sales for my career, so sometimes you have to be pushy with selling your services. Its their job to get people to do the personal training, so dont feel pressured into doing it if you dont want to. Its your own fault if you enter into a contract and want to get out of it after a month. They let you read the contract, so do your due diligence and make sure its something you can do and afford.
They screw you over when you go to cancel. I cancelled a month before my next payment and they still took out money. Went to go and talk to manager and told me there was nothing they could do because there was no note about me canceling. Sorry that your employees don’t know how to do their jobs not my problem totally on them! But in the long wrong I’m out 50$.
Consumer Alert: My husband is a member of LA Fitness at another location in Cincinnati. He met with a personal trainer who took his account information and has been withdrawing training fees from his account without documentation for six months. My husbands gym noted he did this more than 30 times to others and has been terminated. The problem with the Oakley gym is that they have hired this individual and the individual changed my husbands gym location to Oakley and withdrew money as if my husband trained in Oakley. My husband has never stepped foot in this location a day in his life. The director has not returned my husbands phone calls in a prompt manner and approximately $300.00 was taken. I think it is tacky and distasteful that the issue has not been resolved in a timely manner. My husband is dedicated to being fit and should not have to worry about some workout thief subtly withdrawing funds from his account. I am very disappointed in this locations inability to help and hope the trainer who caused this fiasco is not stealing others account information for the sake of commission. Beware and watch your account!
Eric the manager in this location is so friendly, I was a little scare about this location because the reviews that I read but my wife and I just have sign up with this location for the great experience that we just have in our first visit, he offer us so many deals and was trying to fill up all our needs, now we have even a trial week to decide if we like it or not, before pay anything, but so far so good! Very happy experience! :-)
LA Fitness Oakley has the worst management & customer service I have ever encountered. I was manipulated & deceived into a personal training contract. When I tried to cancel it after the traditional 3 business days, they pointed out the fine print in the contract that Saturday is a business day! But it doesnt say that on the cancellation form they require you to submit. Then the so called “club manager”, Nathan Sharpe, refused to hear my complaints and bullied me to the point where I felt uncomfortable being there alone. I know I’m not the only female who’s been treated this way and that is unacceptable. Corporate did nothing to resolve the issue. Never go to LA Fitness Oakley.
Worst gym membership experience of my life. The staff are dishonest in terms of membership fees and training packages. On multiple occasions I was overcharged with no help reimbursing my money. The facility itself is adequate but the terrible service make me want to cringe.
When I signed up the first time, I had to pay a large initiation fee and was told I would not have to pay that again. I told them that I travel a lot and would occasionally have to take a few months off. Now they are telling me I have to pay an upkeep fee or I will have to pay the initiation fee again. The club itself is clean and well maintained but I feel like I was misled when I signed up as far as what their fees are.
LA Fitness in general is ok but this location sucks..i brought my daughter in with a pass i was given from the Kenwood location( which by the way is way better) but i wanted my daughter to see the layout at Oakley. Well the General Manager is a complete Jerk...i was unaware of the pass needing to be used consecutively and he said he would sell me a day pass for 15 dollars or a membership to my 14 yr old for 30 and if she didnt like it i can be refunded back my money...well all i wanted was for a day to show my daughter around the facility see if she likes it and they keep throwing up they make money off of sales...then after him trying to sell my 14 year old a membership i got upset and he says well since u wanna get upset and yell the deal i was gonna offer is off the table....after 15 min trying to sell my daughter a membership he says i was gonna give u a free one day pass...why take me through all that i been a member for a long time no issues ever but he was so busy trying to make a sale he just couldnt allow my pass to be acknowledged and honestly i had every intention on putting her on my membership...Kenwood location is awesome...Oakley has bad management
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR PERSONAL TRAINING.The contract: I signed up, knowing that I would be moving before the end of the contract and was promised that I would be able to cancel with absolutely no problem because I was moving further than 25 miles away from the gym. I was not given enough opportunity to read the contract I was pressured into signing, because I was told if I didnt sign that day, before I left the table, that I would not be offered the same attractive deal.Well, come time to cancel, I sent my new proof of address to the corporate office and was told by them that because I would be located near A club (not THE club) that I could not cancel my contract but could buy it out for half the total cost (which I definitely cannot afford). I am a student at a large university and now have access to a very good rec center which was included in my tuition. Anyway, I informed Dan, the man who sold me the contract, about corporates call and he seemed upset and assured me he would handle it and the club would buy out my contract. So I felt good about it, especially when he told me everything was taken care of.But then I was charged the next month. My bank account over drafted. After many calls I finally reached Dan again, and he said he would take care of it and refund that charge. Over two weeks later I have not received the refund and have not heard from Dan again. When I called, I was suprised to hear he had gone on vacation! Incredulous, I asked to speak to his superior and voiced my ordeal. They replied sympathetically and said someone would call me back. I never received a call back.Either theyve seriously dropped the ball and my case has slipped through the cracks, or they have been playing me a fool. I am hoping the former, and am continuing to attempt to rectify the situation. I will post an update on how things play out. But needless to say I regret the day I signed up for PT at LA Fitness. The training: my trainer was Rod, and I hate to get him in trouble but I had some concerns with him. So he gave me his number in case I had any questions or needed to contact him for appointment changes. I started receiving calls from him late at night, and after having moved Ive received what you doing? text messages. Gross (the man is like 30 years older than me). But Im a polite idiot and just ignored it.Thats one thing, whatever, but when it came to him actually doing his job, he was inconsistent at best. When he was awake and alert, maybe 40% of the time, he was a great trainer, though he could never remember anything about me or the things I said to him (repeated like every session) let alone where I was on my training. When he was tired, he showed only apathy towards the training session, and I caught him nodding out on more than one occasion. When I joked about it he got upset and said everyone has off days. Well I paid quite a bit of money for that session and didnt get much value from it.LA Fitness has been my greatest consumer regret of all time. STAY AWAY.
I joined this LA Fitness about a month ago. Theyre under new management. I have yet to find empty paper towels, toilet paper, or messss in the bathroom. I work out 4-5 times a week and everytime Im in there (usually around 3-5pm) there is someone cleaning equipment or sweeping.
BEWARE do not sign up at this gym, the will tell you one price and charge another. I was told by salesman Timmy that they had a special going on no initiation fee which is $209 and it would be $29.99 monthly weeeelllllll I never got my contact which was supposed to be emailed and weeks later out comes $163 and it was $54.99 a month! Never what we agreed upon at all sooo be careful Im still battling for my money smh!
On the decline. This location is getting dirtier and dirtier and the machines are not maintained. The hot tub jets havent worked for at least 6 weeks. Staff arrive late routinely to open. The womens locker room is obviously not cleaned for days at a time because you see the same garbage and filth (on benches and in bathroom) for days. When Kenwood (Bear Creek) closed without notice there was an influx of new people that the Oakley location seemed capable of absorbing (several racquet ball players). With the recent closure of the Norwood location (it was NOT located in Hyde Park) it seems that the Oakley location would want to step up their game but the service and the facility continues to decline.I am checking other options out. I pay $29.95/mo and wasnt required to pay an initiation fee which is going to be hard to beat but I dont know how much longer I can put up with the problems at this locale.
Brittany S. in Member Services might be the worst person Ive ever dealt with in Customer Service. At first I thought maybe I just caught her on a bad day, but after several encounters with her I can see that shes just terrible at being friendly and helpful. Really disappointed in the lack of service when Im paying to be a member.
Fine except it is super crowded if you go at the wrong time AND THERE IS NO FREE WIFI!!!! It is 2016 and they dont offer free wifi to their paying members... If you plan on joining, avoid the after work rush and assume you are going to fly through your cellphone data plan...
Youll receive a high pressure sales situation in which they have you sign 5 pages of small print while the staff berates and attempts to shame you to pay for an overpriced personal trainer. Later, if and when you have a problem with your account, you will receive the dead eyed stare of Jaws through the visage of a valley girl who tells you customer service isnt her responsibility.
@schw0722 I've been a member for about 2 months now and that guess list you receive at the time of signing up is to bring your friends in for 2 weeks free..you want twelve guess passes?! As a paying customer I don't want everyone using what I pay for free of charge..your a complete dumbass in my book..obviously you've never belonged to a gym moron
As a college educated fitness professional it totally upsets me watching your personal trainers text on their cell phones while training a client on the bench press. This is entirely uncalled for and downright dangerous. How you refer to your training staff as “professional” is beyond me

2022-03-19If its 1 star service your looking for then this is your gym. Stair masters are always broken!! They are always down, out of 8 machines only 3 work. The staff never know what to say when asked. Do not join this gym! They never say hello, they dont seem happy. Will be looking else where.

2022-01-16I have been to many many gyms and so far Esporta is my favorite. With their membership I can take two people with me every single time. My daughter really likes it as well. The fee per month is reasonable its about $25. Theres an indoor pool (which my daughter and I love), there is a hot tub, there are racquetball courts, and theres a basketball court. All the stuff I have met are very nice. There is also a lot of equipment. My daughter and I really really enjoy this gym. So far it is our favorite.

2022-05-23Love this gym but it’s very very dirty. The ladies restroom area is always out of soap and the toilets look like they’ve never been cleaned. There is always toilet paper on the floor. The grout has never been cleaned and there is always pee stains on the seat. They sometimes go through times where a lot of machines don’t work, the stair master which there is I think 6-7 will sometimes only have 3 working for a few days or week and there are machines that are missing parts like the bike machine you need a foot cover and without it it won’t work. Just little things but mainly the cleanliness is what is the worst.

2022-02-19Love this gym! It can get crowded at times but there is a lot of equipment and they recently upgraded equipment. Giving a 4 star review because the bathroom can be pretty dirty at times, especially when there’s no toilet paper or paper towels.

2022-02-05Been there a month. Love it. Even when crowded. Very little of the instagram selfie taking on the strength machines for 40 minutes at a time. Like the Competition in the back across Ibsen. Love the sauna. Whirlpool probably due for a scrub down. My only minor gripe.

2022-04-26Extremely busy gym. The only times that this place is reasonable is Thursday through Sunday night at off hours or early morning. If you plan to go after work then also plan for about 25% more time for your workout. They also seem to always lack enough clips for the bars.

2022-06-09First time visiting this specific location. Although I was impressed by the amount of equipment and the occupancy, I found the gym rather DIRTY. I’m not the cleanest person in the world, but there are so many first impressions that make you want to go elsewhere. Unfortunately going to look forward to my tour at Cincinnati sports club. I’ve also given them the benefit of the doubt by asking may they clean the place.

2022-05-11It’s a good gym. Has everything you need but recently been coming into more and more machines “scheduled for maintenance.” They have been scheduled for quite awhile…Edit: they stepped it up and stuff is fixed now

2019-10-26Biggest, cleanest, immaculate LA Fitness Ive ever been to. 20 plus treadmills...A Physical Therapy room offering free screenings!A working sauna, fresh smelling womens locker room, hot showers w/ great water pressure, a working hot tub by the pool with a medical assisted chair to lower someone to enjoy the hot tub. First, Ive seen for the hot tub section. This also had an elevator to reach the second floor of equipment! No food or juice bar at this location. But, not missed. This location is in walking distance to a Super Target and Dollar Tree. Check out the water fountain! Wish the ones in Indy had these.

2021-12-23I’ve been to so many gyms. Esporta (LA fitness) is the best. The place and equipment inside are very clean. Friendly staff members. It’s very rare to see any equipment “out of service “ here not like most gym. This gym is well taken care of, definitely the best in the area
