Such a fun experience! This was our first time visiting Escape History but have done 10 or so rooms throughout Ohio. We tried their WWII room and ended up booking Capone right after. Spencer was an amazing host and showed our family a wonderful time. Cant wait to go back and try their 3rd room soon.
One of the best escape rooms weve ever been to! Was with family visiting the Youngstown/Niles area and had heard some great things about Escape History so wanted to check them out. We ended up doing 2 of their rooms, Titanic and also The Speakeasy. There were some really cool wow factors in addition to very challenging but fun puzzles. Would be perfect for a birthday party or team building event. If youre in the area go check these guys out! Absolutely recommend Escape History.
Our GM team was traveling through the area and we heard great things about Escape History so wanted to check it ourselves. We absolutely LOVED their Titanic room. Was 4 of us total and wish we had time to stay and do more but the team was very friendly and took some time to chat about their passion for escape rooms too. We highly recommend these guys and if youre in the area looking for something fun to do this is it!
Very helpful staff and great rooms. We did their Capone room and got out with just 2 minutes left! Loved the use of the space and good price for what you get. Fun experience with family detaching from phones and technology. Highly recommend visiting escape history if youre in the Niles area.
I loved the time I had here. I did the Titanic room with my family and had a great time. The room wasnt too challenging, but it also wasnt too easy. They have 2 other rooms with varying difficulty. The employee there offered good help and was very friendly. Definitely recommend to people who enjoy escape rooms
Really fun experience! The host and staff were all very nice and did a good job of explaining the rooms. Went with 5 friends and did their speakeasy and titanic escape rooms. We got out of both with just 2 minutes to spare! Highly recommend for friends/family or a good team building activity. Thanks Escape History!
We did all 3 rooms in one night. This was not the best escape room experience we have had nor was it the worst. The theme and story lines are good. The rooms have wires that they could have at least attempted to hide and fragile things that if you look wrong might not work right.
Update from 5/7: After hearing I wasnt totally satisfied with my visit, the owner, Josh, reached out to me. He invited me back to try another room, so my group did the Lincoln room and had a much better experience! Josh and his wife were very friendly and helpful. The Lincoln room was much better designed than the Titanic room, and the puzzles were very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this room.We did the Titanic and the Mummy theme at Escape History. Most of our group had done an escape room before, and we were all super excited to try out a local place! Unfortunately we werent blown away by the experience. Our game master didnt seem very happy about being there or getting us excited about the experience at all. At one point when we needed a hint we were told it would be a minute since the other room that was going on also needed a hint. Not a great thing to hear when we are racing against the clock! The room was decorated with nice vintage looking items which help set the scene. Overall we thought the room was decently challenging, but we would have liked to solve more puzzles rather than just finding combinations to locks. One of the few puzzles that didnt involve padlocks actually malfunctioned and opened before we had found all of the pieces. We ended up coming out of the room slightly frustrated from mechanical issues in the room and the nature of our game master. One of our players stuck himself on one of the exposed screws in the room, so that may be something to watch for with children. While our group did enjoy our experience, Id say this escape room definitely has some areas to improve on.
We met these guys at a convention and were eager to try their rooms - they did not disappoint! The owners were very nice and friendly and gave us a tour of their space after the games. Our favorite room was the Titanic and then Speakeasy (didnt have a chance to do the 3rd). Great for all ages and families loved the history theme as well.
What a great place. Staff was great, rooms are clean and interesting. We took our Crew and had a great time. Looking to go back and do the other rooms. Very well put together, staff is very professional, and I would highly recommend using Escape History for team building, or just plain fun! We are still talking about our experience. Thank you for a great evening!
It was my husbands birthday and we were desperate for a night away from the kiddos. I had heard about escape rooms but never went. we had such a hard time choosing due to being history buffs but we picked the titanic and so glad we did. we had so much fun figuring out puzzles, riddles and finding clues. we are so excited to book our next visit to a different room , would like to experience all of them at some point. if you need a night out and tired of doing the usual..... this is worth the visit.
Had an amazing time at Escape History in Niles! Was visiting Youngstown with some friends and ended up doing their Speakeasy room. Beautiful set and great puzzles. The staff was very helpful and friendly and looking forward to going back and doing their other 2 escape rooms. Highly recommend for team building events or just a fun night out with friends and family.
First time in an escape room. Pretty cool experience. Maybe like a MYST game for adults a bit, (showing my age). The room we selected was the easiest of the 3 available, and good level to start at.Good group activity. And Josh was pleasant, insightful and helpful.Give one a try if you havent.
A great idea for a date night or night out with friends! The rooms are vintage and the plots are based on historical events. My husband and I were trapped in the Lincoln room and had an hour to find our way out. The clues was difficult, but not hard and it was the fastest hour of my life! I can’t wait to go again.

2022-01-24This place is great! It was a really fun challenge and it’s set up really nicely. Spencer was our “game master” and he was friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better especially since my whole group was new and not sure what to expect. It’s definitely not as easy as I thought it would be but that made it even more fun! And you are able to ask for hints which helped but didn’t totally give it away. Overall a really great time!

The game master was very nice and helpful and the facility was well kept and clean. Puzzles were challenging and there was enough to keep everyone in our group busy. 2022-06-19This was a spur of the moment activity and we are so glad we did it. Carson was our games master and he was awesome. The Al Capone room allows you to explore a hint of a criminal mind...lol.The facility was very organized and clean. Give it a shot you wont be disappointed. Hint: to save time, complete your waiver on-line.We got out of the building before blowing it up although we had to dive we were so close.

2021-09-19We did two rooms in one day and both were fully engaging and entertaining. The rooms were well designed and thought out. Clues were timely from the game master and truly helpful. I plan on coming back for the third room soon.

2021-07-18Weve done a few escape rooms in the past and wanted to try one in Niles/Youngstown while driving through, glad we stopped in! The manager was very nice and helpful, we did their Capone room which was challenging but we had an amazing time. Good location right by the mall so plenty of places to eat and hang out afterwards. Thanks Escape History!

2020-09-22My friends and I visited Escape History last month and did their WWII room which was a blast! The host was very nice and helpful - the puzzles were challenging but not too difficult and we got out with 3 minutes to spare. Well definitely be back to try their other rooms soon. Lots of good rooms in the Niles/Youngstown area but this is definitely one of our favorites.
