Always friendly. Great place to find those odd beers, ales, stouts or wines. If they dont have what you are looking for, ask them. They are more than happy to try and order it for you. It is also a small convenience store so you can pick up your lottery, soft drinks and simple snacks. Cash or credit/debit accepted.
I drive from Canton for a monthly almost $100 item which was on order. Come back a couple days later and Im told its sitting in box behind the counter on the floor but the owner hasnt restocked the shelf yet. Rather than open the cardboard box and leave a note stating a $100 sale to a retuning customer again another wasted trip. 2 days later I check the website to make sure their open but pull in to discover another wasted trip to unreliable store proclaimed hours.
The beer selection is mind-blowing. Ive never found so many oddball beers within one place. The fact that theyve several choices of Three Floyds and Nowhere In Particular shows how devote these folks are when acquiring their beers. If youre down for a good cigar, they carry the Acid Kuba Kuba; which Ive only found in cigars shops.
There are not a lot of convenience stores in the area that offer what Eriks does. If you are looking for an unusual, or, special beer, he is advertising over 1000 of them. I was looking for some Ohio craft beers for a dinner party and assumed that all the Ohio beers would be merchandised together and easy to identify on the shelves. This is not the case. The beers are haphazardly displayed with no apparent organization at all and some are not even on the shelves, but, in inventory in the back room not visible to the public. I had hoped he will get away from this beer gimmick and concentrate on having fresh deli foods at good prices because the supermarkets routinely gouge on those items.
It doesnt look like it from the outside, but this place has a superb beer selection!!! I love stopping here when I first get to Canton for my annual month long summer vacation just stock up on good beer. If you like beer other than the everyday Bud, Miller and Coors stuff, then this place is a hidden gem!
One star only because zero stars isnt an option. Theyre the most rude and unpleasant people Ive come across. My experience a few weeks ago. My sons experience today, they told him to leave after hed been looking around for a few minutes because, Youre not gonna buy anything, get out. He was but hes very methodical in everything he does. No one from our family will ever buy anything from them again.
It used to be better with the old owners. Now the new owners are not customer service friendly, do not understand waiting on customers or doing anything in a timely Manor. They do not prepare the food they used to and what they do carry isnt near as good as when the old owners had it. It is convenient and they do have most everything is need to run and pick up on my work break.
I usually have good experiences shopping at Erik’s but last night I was charged $13 for two Zyn canisters. In the past they sold them at regular price (about $4 per canister) but apparently they priced them at over $6 per canister. I asked for the receipt and of course the items charged were vague. Most gas stations also sell this stuff so I won’t be coming back.
I went into Eriks a couple of hours ago to purchase a newspaper for my mom. After I made it to her home, I discovered that the paper was from Jan. 30, 2017 instead of todays date, February 6, 2017. I thought the process of swapping the paper out for the correct paper was going to be simple and quick. Well I was mistaken. The person that I bought the paper from claims he didnt remember selling me the paper and the owner insisted that I didnt buy it there. I told both of them that I have much better things to do with my time than to argue with them over a .79 paper and how dare they imply that I was trying to get over on them. I will never, ever set foot in this store again.
Walked down to pay my electric bill, thinking that if I am going to pay a fee, why not to someone local. AEP website charges 1.85 convenience from the comfort of home and claims its only $1.50 at Erics... Wrong, I was $0.50 short. Why would I leave my house to pay more???

2022-01-02Great selection of beer. I was able to buy singles of what I wanted versus buying a six pack. Staff was friendly. Prices were good also.

2021-09-21I no longer partake in the sweet cheeba however I did notice that Ericks grocery bag had plenty of products for those who do partake in the sweet sweet cheeba. I went there because I seen online that they sold craft beer. They definitely have a wide variety of awesome craft beers. I do recommend and I will go back!

2021-01-26They do have a very large selection of beer, I dont know how long ago it was sold but when I was young they had great food. They no longer sell hot food but all sorts of glass pipes and stoner gear. My reason for the bad review is that I have stopped in when working in the area and they are some of the rudest people Ive ever dealt with. Just buying a pop and bag of chips feels like you are such a big inconvenience to them. If thats the case, why be in the retail business at all?

2021-10-20The lady working there just stared the whole time. Didnt offer assistance. Seemed very annoyed that I wanted to buy a powerball lottery ticket. Didnt say thank you or any of the typical etiquette used by most small store.

2020-06-23I’ve been looking for a certain kind of spiked tea for weeks now. I’ve called every store from Akron-Massillon and no one had it nor bothered to help me find it until I stumbled across this convenient store! The lady I spoke to on the the last week was very helpful! She called me yesterday to inform me that they found my spiked tea and it was ready for pick up! I arrived at the store and it was so clean very organized and very friendly! Not to mention priced very reasonable! I will definitely be back. ☺️

2018-05-24A friend brought a group of us here one night to buy some alcohol before a small party. He had heard great things about the place. The beer selection was expansive for a store its size. The woman working was quite helpful. The prices for some things were a bit high, but it is a convenience store, not a grocery store. It was a standard experience. I find no reason to avoid them if you are in the area, but no reason to seek them out if you arent local (as we did) unless you absolutely need a large selection of beer which they can absolutely provide.
