If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I worked there as full time employee since Nov 2nd 2020 I was suppose to come in as a machine operator but they like to play favorites and put who they want on machines even temps coming in after my hire in date, they would tell me to make totes and the way they set totes from pallet to table is completely unsafe because they want at least 10-15 totes lifted on the table and because the totes would be stacked so high above my head I was afraid Id hit myself in the head. Not only is it unsafe but they do not care about your safety either. I told them I had double hernia meshes and a very bad back and should NOT be lifting this kind of thing at all but they still put me in that position for like four days. Not a very good safe place to work. Especially since they stack pallets in the middle of walk ways. I seen someone fall and almost hit their head on steel because of how bad that place is not being more safe

Extremely poor workplace culture/ environment. They don’t pay nearly enough for the job. Didn’t get a job description before starting, now I see why. The women are extremely petty and will hate on you. They will also make comments about your body for being a normal healthy weight and not obese. If you’re new they will prevent you from getting any work. Anything to make someone look bad. Nothing but trash there. Hours are extremely unstable and they have a revolving door. People quit management, not jobs. There’s way better out there. They told us to hide fat on meat when putting them in trays so the customer doesn’t see it.UPDATE: watch your paycheck and your hours! I’m owed for 2 hours of pay. Someone, NOT ME had me clocked out at 730 am when I was in fact there until at least 9 am. Crooked as it gets. My onsite rep wasn’t there that day so who lied about my hours? Glad I got a real job and away from here. I dodged a bullet!
Good folks but 3 hours to 6 hours getting unloaded is not something I can afford. No, they dont play favorites, it just takes that long to get unloaded. PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT BREAK THE SEAL. Leave your doors shut and back into the dock. You break it, you buy it.
If you like to know how clean the facility your meat comes out of before hitting the grocery store, Empire Packing is the cleanest facility i have ever worked at! From cieling, machines, to floor. The place deserves the highest rating. Fantastic!😁
Ive worked live kill slaughterhouse for years. I worked in beef 2 weeks there until my boss PJ let me go home early and the human resource department was completely ride to me like I was doing something bad for having a early weekend at my bosses want. Ive never been fired not treated so badly , especially by human resources. This is a struggling new company opened in July 2018 and had no experienced people. I see why now . If you want a career go elsewhere with your skills fellow butchers and slaughterhouse people.
Got here at 430 pm to unload had a 5 pm appointment it’s now 930 pm and I’m still waiting. Maybe the worst place I’ve been to so far for unloading.
Very friendly staff, in and out in 1.5 hrs, in one and a half hour my trailer was loaded.
Worked there for a while. Had to leave because of reasons in my personal life. Great clean facility, great coworkers, great pay, good benefits. Id go back in a heartbeat.
I work at Empire its a good place to work and the people are people you would want to know and work with.
We arrived here 2 hours before our appointment time and still waited 7 hours to be unloaded.
Love the staff. Hired me with not a lot of experience and worked with me to grow. New business so I’m able to move up quick!!
Friendly place fast. They do have parking before ur appointment. They start at 5am.
Job duties not so hard..good break times.But coworkers are nothing but thieves .Breaking into peoples lockers and stealing items while u are at work.No cameras whatsoever.
If ya going work here or ride share take into mind, this is a place that has no set hours. People work not even half day , then one day they could stay the night there

2022-07-14Very smooth, was picking up, 1hr before appointment, was given a door right away loaded and paperwork less than 2hrs. Fast loading, Friendly environment, small staging area looks like no overnight parking.

2022-07-26Gave this place my all, however, they did not listen to my concerns, instead they spread my concern around like elementary school!! Horrible management, they do not appreciate hard work, and they support people who disrespect them& walk out in middle of day becuz they were disciplined!!

2022-01-07If I could rate a zero I would. Poor management who consistently is questioning why you did this or that, even though you are doing exactly as trained. Co-workers are toxic who also get away with creating a hostile work environment and the managers do nothing about it. They play favorites and bully the ones who are truly there to do their job rather than hang out and do their job for them on top of your job! HR says they are dedicated to a safe work environment yet they fire you for being a victim of ongoing hostile, yelling, cussing at you type of employees. The HR department is a revolving door. Nobody lasts long enough to remember your name. You are not allowed to tell anyone about the discrimination if you are white. I feel bad for my replacement. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. The job description for Demand Planner is also a lie. You WILL have to take on being a trainer, AND babysitting every single department in the place. When they screw up, YOU are the one who gets written up. Not to mention, your “contract” for salary never matches up to your W2.

2021-11-23Appt was 9AM for PO MP 25005 11/22 told to come back at 10AM due to unknown reasons... As per broker the warehouse was running behind.. At 10AM driver is told to return back at 6PM ..... no phone calls for a door until 11/23 day 2 ... 8.51 AM ... when we spoke to the lady at the receiving office who was very insensitive she said there is no room for unloading and they had to make room for unloading . In other words they detained the truck using it as a storage for free....finally at 1PM the lady says they where short staffed and they are dohg the best they can do... This place is a no good place for delivery .. please make sure you come to deliver with lots of time in hand to spare
