What makes this place a 5 Star eatery isnt necessarily the food...I mean, the food isnt bad...typical Mexican fare with an emphasis on Tex-Mex and a great seafood side to the menu...this El Trompo location (theres 2 or 3 on this side of the Tri-State area) has taken the dinner show platform, added a little Latino flair and provides for a very entertaining evening of, song, dance and Fun. A DJ sits atop the turntables and cranks out music for whatever the theme is for the night...the drinks are adorned with sparklers, smoke bombs (dry ice) and all sorts of toppings from gummy worms to guava slices...dont come here if youre looking for a quiet night...expect to catch yourself tapping your feet and swinging your hips in your seat!
What a fun place! Looking forward to going back. Friendly staff, good food, plenty of variety on the menu. Empanadas and fries were fried perfectly. Margs and frozen drinks elevated with candy and chocolate garnishes in addition to the traditional fruit. Rocks drinks came to the table bubbling, which was very cool! P.S. El Trompo translates to spinning top.
Last night was our first time trying. And I give it a 10/10 on food service, entertainment, cleanliness, environment, and the actual food its self was cooked incredible. Ive been to alot of steam houses but hands down this was the best steak Ive ever had and the only steak Ive ever ate without steak sauce. Highly recommend this place.
Beautiful restaurant with lots of space, both indoors and outdoors. Even the bar area has lots of room and seems very well stocked. The challenge is with the food. We ordered a burrito bowl, chicken enchiladas, and mini tacos. Unfortunately, nothing had flavor. Would have loved to like the food, as the restaurant is so close to our house and is so spacious. But because of the lack of flavor or spiciness in what we ate, I would probably not go there again.
Note that my experience is based on only one visit. The server was very helpful to us with our selection. Both of us enjoyed our meals, and the price was pretty good overall. Based on that I would like to go back to try some of the other menu items. We were there around 4:30 on a Saturday. There was music playing, with live singing. It was _very_ loud. I had trouble understanding my dinner companion as well as the server. The smoking area is right outside the door and we had to walk through it to get inside. These are the only issues we had during our visit. If these are not a bother to you, definitely check it out.
Our early Sunday dinner was a party at El Trompo. Walking in, the host greeted us with a joke like wed been friends forever. The atmosphere was upscale and very cool. I thought I was going to be paying an arm and a leg for some tacos. I was pleasantly surprised when everything on the menu had the prices you would see at any other Mexican restaurant. The dining room was filled with authentic folk, and a singer working the room with his Spanish serenade. An experience like no other- and the tacos were amazing. Big plump shrimp, wonderfully seasoned chorizo, crispy fish, tasty chicken soo fresh and with a really yummy sauce but the pastor el trompo? ..not for me.. not sure what it is.
My family and I went on a Wednesday evening; the atmosphere is lively and the atmospheric decor nice. Our waitress was the largest deterrent. Immediately rude. Didn’t look at us when we ordered, rolled her eyes at us when I switched something on the kid’s meal. She was never pleasant. Maybe she was having a bad day, but as a first time customer, it made the whole experience feel meh. Food prices were expensive for the same type of food that one could find at any Mexican restaurant around. Definitely would not return.
We went here on a Friday night and it was packed. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have eaten at in this area. They have a great atmosphere, great drinks, and a fresh guac bar that comes to your table and makes to order. They had a live lounge singer and bring out special shots for birthdays. I would 100% recommend this place. Price was reasonable.
Weve now been three or four times and I make it a point to try something different every time. Im never disappointed by the food or its presentation. The cocktails are over-the-top (in a good way). And one day, Ill save enough room to try one of the six or seven delicious looking cakes on offer!
After having a great lunch here I went to dinner here with a friend. The atmosphere is a huge difference. First off, the waitress was very rushing, we tried to ask questions and she brushed us off. My friend and I had to basically have a conversation with each other while yelling at each other because of the music volume is so extraordinarily loud, on a Wednesday night. The drink I ordered was supposed to be “smoking” and was not but have fun finding your waitress to tell them, even if you’re seated directly next to the bar and the waitress station. The food was okay but I don’t like the atmosphere there. Bring down the music volume so people don’t have to holler at the folks they’re at dinner with and maybe they’ll enjoy themselves.
My family LOVES this place so much. What’s not to like? The food is always so good. Their service never disappoints. It is always clean. The live music is so much fun! They are so nice to our kids. Thank you El Trompo staff. You are amazing and we will continue coming back.
Food was good, lively place, entertaining for all ages. Only issue, it was way too loud. We like to decompress, have dinner & conversation. We couldnt hear each other and we sat next to each other. If you can turn the volume down, I would give it another star. However, as we were leaving we saw a band setting up. More loud noise?
So this was mY first N probably last meal here. Now mind you my food was delicious, I ordered the lamb chops my girl had a burrito said it was good. But man o man the wait was terrible the drinks were slow and they just didnt care 😒 . The vibes were cool the paintings were cool.
Went on a busy mothers day, but still got right in. Live music interacting with the guests. We thought our daughter with autism would not be ok with staying upon initial entry, due to the noise, but the singer interacted with her and she had a blast. Made it extra worth the visit that day!!!
If you want great food, this place has it! However, if you want to talk to someone you came with, good luck… they had someone singing, and the music was so loud I could even hear my date talking. It is concert level loud! Again, great great food, but bad place to go if you want to have a conversation.
New Mexican restaurant in town. Lovely ambiance inside and also outdoor sitting is fascinating. They have best authentic mexican food. There are many street food options which I haven’t seen in many mexican 🌮restaurants around.I tried Torta, Nachos el santro and Jalapeño Margarita. 🍸
Ladies Night at El Trompo for the first time. Great guacamole, made right at the table! Delicious! Service was as expected (although dessert was forgetten but we were okay with it). Looking forward to going back for another delicious fish dinner. Everything we ordered was on point. Fun and unique decor.
Celebrating Cinco de Mayo with these awesome folks!! The drinks and food were outstanding! D.J. music entertainment, fire shows, amazing drop dead gorgeous eye candy! Would strongly recommend to everyone I know! We are already planning our girls night out there!! Wooohoooo it was the best!
Great food and neat restaurant. Friday had live music which was fun but a struggle when you were out with a friend and wanting to chat as it was extremely loud... we had to shout to hear each other. Had to laugh at the singer though... yes he has the horse! Id go again but personally will avoid live music night.
My wife and I stopped in to a surprisingly great meal. The atmosphere was pleasant. The waiter Ismiel (I know I didnt spell his name correctly) was attentive to all of our requests. The drinks are slightly expensive but well worth it. I guarantee you wont be disappointed with the taste and ample amount off food you are served.
We LOVE this place. The food is always good. The nachos have plenty of well dispersed toppings. It feels worth the price. The DRINKS! They take pride in their drink presentation. Theyre very delicious, too.The only con is that it is incredibly loud in there. The acoustics are atrocious. Its hard to have any kind of conversation with your table.
Three times ordered carry out and ONLY ONCE have they had our order. We will not give them another chance. Service is absolutely terrible, in fact its worse than Charles Barkley terrible. Place was pretty empty on a Saturday afternoon at 4:00pm, my hope is people have caught on to the horrible service at this restaurant. The one time we actually got food it was good but not great. My recommendation is find another Mexican returant to eat at and you will be happy versus sad, hungry and disappointed. It would be a good idea to get staff that actually are customer service oriented, both times no apology and I had to demand a refund. Run away from eating here.
Great food reasonable prices wish they would tell everything on the menu that comes with the food you order. My wife had a salad that she didnt ask for, my dad got the same thing and didnt get a salad. I asked for a lot of things on my burger but got tomatoes on it which I didnt know came on it
Only reason for not 5 starts. Is they have entertainment and it’s SOOOO loud. I can’t have a conversation with the person sitting across from me. Can’t take the kid because the music and speakers are blasting and he just cry’s the whole time. Food is great and margaritas are off the charts. But please if you have a live singer please turn down the volume. My best friend and I like to have our ladies night out there. But we will have to start going somewhere else so we can actually have a conversation. Also I see a lot of people sitting at their tables looking just as frustrated and annoyed. So please think about changing this and turning the volume down.
A different take on Mexican food. Food was good and service was fine. What kept me from giving 5 stars was the techno Mexican music they played at threshold of pain volumes. I finally asked the srrver to lower the volume and she did, but it was still loud and difficult to talk to my family. I would try this place again, because the food was good, but if the music was blaring I wouldnt stay.
I love music of all kinds and loud doesnt bother me EXCEPT when dining with friends. Had to scream across the table. Also, babies and small children were there and I know the decibel level for the music alone was unacceptable. Maybe get serious with the music after 8:00 or 9:00 at night when the young kids are not there or seat them away from the speakers when tables are available and there were some available, but I noticed they sat the kids right near the speakers anyway. The food was very good.
This evening it was our first time at El Trompo and we were disappointed our waitress was rude and keep putting pressure on us by ordering drinks had and angry face all the time it make us feel very unwelcome we work hard to make money so we can go out and enjoy a good meal and at list a welcome face we will never go back very sad.
This place is a PARTY on a Saturday night. Had a ball with my little family and the food was GREAT! The music (singer & DJ) was uncomfortably loud, if they turned that down just a smidge, it wouldve been even more enjoyable. Fun place and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!
Id give this place a 10 star if I could. We were there for a family lunch yesterday. There is no better review Ive ever given before. HUGE menu. Chips and salsa were awesome. I had the burrito (carnitas) with a side of rice, refried beans and red sauce. It is unfortunate that I live 2 hours away from this gem of a place. That burrito was pure perfection. Not huge, not drowned in sauce, just the perfect combination of meat, black beans and rice. It was not huge in girth, but it was very long, rolled thin, topped with a cheese sauce that was out of bounds good and pico and fresh cut jalapenos.Service was quick, friendly, the food came out quickly, and the margarita was heavily garnished and so tasty. I cannot recommend this place enough, what a wonderful meal. I realize Im raving about a burrito, but it was one of the best things Ive ever tasted. Loved it. Check them out soon.
My husband and I went here on a whim cuz we hadnt had Mexican in a while. We were blown away. It was so delicious! He had some burrito with shrimp and pineapple. He devoured the entire thing not really coming up for air. I had something off the street food section and gave a good effort at finishing it but couldnt so brought the rest home. It was just as amazing warmed up the next day. The wait staff were attentive without being at our table too often. The only thing was the music was a touch loud for normal level conversation. But the food was SO amazing!
I can enough good things about this place! We got seated immediately on a Friday afternoon at 5pm which is usually super busy in the area. The staff provided excellent service and delicious food! The decorations inside were very nice to look at too. A very fun atmosphere with the DJ and fancy drinks too. This instantly became our go-to place for mexican food in west chester as its by far the best prices, service, and best tasting mexican in west chester easily.
Food was very good. Lots of flavor. No complaints there.Service was very good. Our waiter was attentive and sharp.Music was TOO FREAKIN’ LOUD! I felt like I was in a club. El Trompo you are not a club. You are a restaurant. People go there to eat. I couldn’t even talk to my husband without yelling and repeating myself.I left with a pounding headache. 😩We will return again and again if you do something about reducing the decibels. Otherwise, we will have to go somewhere else where we can enjoy dinner AND good conversation.
Food was good and beautifully presented. Went on a Friday and it was lively and very loud. But included free entertainment. One guy was singing, one of the servers was doing fire eating and acrobats. Then a couple that was there to eat got up and danced! It was really a lot of fun. Very friendly attentive staff!
Honestly the food the usually great. The Saturday night we came, they had some cross dressing fat entertainer there singing (MOANING) obnoxiously LOUD. Literally moaning! I was absolutely discussed and unable to even communicate with anyone else, not the waitress, not the people in my party, could barely even think when reading the menu. Give this some serious thought before bringing kids. Dont come expecting to have a date night either, not this weirdo here.
This was my first visit here and went on the recommendation of a friend. Service, atmosphere, food, and everything was really good and at least a step above any hole-in-the-wall place. I didnt drink this visit so cannot comment on the margaritas but they looked good. I was especially impressed with how clean it was.
The service was great, efficient and the food was pretty good! I definitely enjoyed dessert... that Lava cake added a few hours at the gym this week, but it was worth it. The entertainment was amazing, servers doing balloon animals for children and live music. First time there and very impressed.
I always try to give any place a chance because i know that no one is perfect but I tried this restaurant in 3 different occasions and in all 3 I was soo disappointed. 1st I asked all my food to be with no onions and veggies aside not on the food, and i seemed they even put xtra on all the food.2sd time i ordered to go and they gave me hot sause that was going bad. I mean the container was sooo bloated ready to pop of how bad the salsa was rotten. 3rd time today and ordered out again. A) I was missing part of my, B) the tacos i ordered where a different meat than the one i had asked for and C) the quality was very poor made. OVERALL they dont pay attention to detail, and give you rotten food. Its soo disappointing!
Fantastic! Office mates and I have been greatly anticipating the grand opening: we were not disappointed! The food is super delicious & seems more authentic and of greater variety than competitors. Service was prompt and staff were very friendly. The space feels modern and roomy, while still incorporating some traditional-looking decorations. Plenty of seating both inside and out. Inside, there are lots of little touches that make it special, like USB ports on the outlets next to the table and a kitchen you can see into. Price is average. This will definitely be a lunch staple for us.Edit: I still like this place and will eat here (its yummy) but they have some customer service issues to work out (e.g. order accuracy and wait times).
An accidental but fantastic find. Uniquely decorated, spotless with great service. My margarita was absolutely delicious, actually had alcohol! It was hard to choose a meal, so many varied options, and not just the standard Mexican fare, and surprisingly many interesting seafood items. We were a party of six, every item delicious, even for our picky eater kids. Best was the option of a whole fish, very well prepared and very delicious. We will definitely make the hour trip to eat here again.
The food is amazing, but why do yall find the need to have a DJ literally BLASTING everyones ears off with low quality remixes on a Saturday night? The music was so loud that it was impossible to carry a conversation at our booth so we were basically forced to listen to music that no one asked for! Highly suggest only getting take out or dining in here on a weekday.
El Trompos is a wonderful experience. Everything is so clean and upbeat. The food is divine. My friend and I had a shrimp lunch that was perfectly made. Another friend had a taco salad that was quite good another friend had a guacamole salad that was very fresh and chunky, yum! The wait staff is very polite and attentive. A little bit of a problem with language, but that is easily taken care of.
The dj music was so loud we had to leave the indoors and go sit outside. You literally couldnt hear the person sitting next to you. Took 17 minutes for the chips and salsa and for them to acknowledge us, even though they sat us outside. Food was good. Place was not overly busy at all. Couple sitting by us outside easily waited over 20 minutes to get waited on.
I came with my mom on a Saturday night, the wait wasn’t too long abo about 10 minutes for indoor seating, there was a longer wait for outside but the indoors is where the music, festivities and good vibes were! It was a busy night so my waitress made her rounds with me and my mom when she could… so maybe they were short staffed, but overall it was a good experience. If anything the bartenders would check on me and my mother sitting away from the bar more than my waitress did. Food is delicious, the alc drinks were super tasty the bartenders were awesome.
Food was okay. Service and servers very nice. We went there on a Saturday night and the music was so loud that we couldnt even have a conversation. I must say I was disappointed but maybe it was because it was a Saturday night. May be willing to go back but certainly during the week and earlier in the day.
My sisters, niece and myself decided to give them a try. The food and service was great. I had the el trompo burrito and the guacamole that they made fresh at the table. The corn with the mayonnaise and cheese was really good and flavorful. I would most definitely go back. I would like to give a big shout out to our server Luis! He was awesome!!!
Food and drinks are fine. Service not so good. After receiving food and drinks the server never came back to the table and eventually the manager came over to check on us. Had to request the receipt 3 times before it was finally given to us and then had different prices from what was listed on the menu. Menu said 20.99 and I was charged 25.99. Asked that they charge me what was listed on the menu and they accused me or another customer of peeling off their sticker. I recommended confirming prices with the customer if the menus don’t reflect the actual cost. After the hassle they corrected my receipt. Took way too much of my time for a negative experience.
Outstanding, very authentic food. Drinks were delicious and different options then the standard in the area. They make tortillas fresh in house and you can watch. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Even brought a fresh tortilla out for my 3 year old to try. Lovely outdoor setup too. Will definitely be back!
They have a section of the menu called “wannabe vegan,” I guess because it is NOT vegan. They have no vegan cheese or sour cream, so if you want a vegan option you have to omit a lot. They’re not unique as a Mexican restaurant in having vegetarian options that can be made vegan via omission. But they are unique in insultingly using the word vegan as though they may actually have specific options. I don’t appreciate them using the word vegan if they don’t actually attempt to have good options, and neither do a lot of other vegans. I’m more willing to ask for omissions at a place that hasn’t pretended to have vegan menu items in the first place. Definitely not a place I’ll ever choose again.
My husband and I tried this place out for the first time last night. It’s conveniently located near our home. We were delighted by the availability to be seated immediately. Not even three minutes after being seated we had waters in hand. There was a lady going around the restaurant preparing fresh guacamole right in front of you at your table. We were pleased with the decor, lighting, and cleanliness of the place. We ordered two traditional margaritas and they were delicious! For entrees, I ordered the El Gallo which was excellent and full of flavor. My husband ordered the Chimichangas which were served with grilled pineapple on top. We both had to take half of our food home because we were stuffed. Definitely give this place a try when you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed.
Well we have been waiting patiently for them to open because we are all about good Mexican food. Unfortunately, taco bell was a bit better than El Trompo. First I will say we ordered thru GrubHub, the delivery was good, and it arrived within the allotted time, even a bit earlier. But the food wasnt warm or even room temperature, it was cold. Again, disappointing but nothing chef Mike couldnt heat up. We specifically put in comments to include extra flour tortillas for the fajitas and one of the combinations we ordered. We did that because there was nowhere else to ask. They had no listing on their menu to request and pay for the tortillas. I knew there would be an extra charge, but instead of extra we got zero tortillas, so we had to heat some up so my son could eat his fajitas. As for their refried beans, Im fairly certain they are from a can. Ive been making refried beans from scratch for over 20 years, and these are not from scratch. They are orange for goodness sake. The mini tacos were ok, but they advertise you can mix and match, but on their Grubhub menu, you can only pick one option, and not 6 different ones. The combination meals we ordered were enchiladas, and Im not sure if it was because the food was cold, but my son who loves enchiladas said they tasted weird and the sauce was very bland. The same went for the rice, it was fluffy, but very bland. My husband, who lived in Mexico for 10 years was thrilled when he saw they had mole on the menu. He said it was pretty good. So all in all, we were fairly disappointed in the flavor of the food. For an authentic and very delicious dinner you are better off going to Tylersville and Route 4 to Cocos. They make everything homemade, they have amazing beans and rice, and their fajitas are to die for.UPDATE after owner responds to review:While I understand you are a new restaurant, you didnt address the fact that we were missing your homemade tortillas, the food was cold, and the food was bland. Whether you make food from scratch or not, you are not treating your customers well if you are allowing vold and missing food to leave your restaurant.
Easy to find as it located right on the Union Center next to Circle K with parking spaces in front and back of the building. Lots of seating space and nice arrangement in the restaurant with good background music. The menu has lots of food items to choose from, variety of special combo meals. Great customer service experience at delivery pick up.
The food was good and the drinks were better. Our server was great until she disappeared. I’d rather have a paper menu or scan a code with my phone, because the menus felt a little gross. We went when it wasn’t busy, but I’m not entirely sure they’re good with the social distancing thing. Will we go back? Probably. It’s better than some places we’ve tried in that area when we make a trip to Ikea or Jungle Jim’s.
Dinner for three ladies was a nightmare!Waiter was inattentive. Got up to look for him 3 times; twice for drinks, once for the chance to order dinner. Even then, 2 of us got dinner and I waited for 10 minutes more. Had to ask for salsa refill. The place was not busy. We would have stayed ate and drank more had we had service. Never again!
Not a big fan of Mexican food so I got the sirloin steak and it was so phenomenal. Like one of the best steaks Ive ever had. They had this chimichurri sauce that was so fantastic to dip in, I could eat it all day.The entertainment was soooo entertaining. This guy in a sequins dress and a blonde wig was singing and it was really good but also very funny. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Some of the best looking and tasting food I’ve had in a long time. Now they have all kinds of specialty drinks which not only look good they taste good, Our server Marcos is always friendly and helpful known him for years. And to top it off they had live entertainment which was very enjoyable.
While the food is good, their wait time for pick up orders is terrible!! Twice, I’ve ordered for a set pick up time and both times I’ve had to wait 30+ minutes from the selected pick up time.Too many workers working at the cashiers desk, and none can help for some unknown reason. They just walked past me and none asked if I needed help or provide an update on my order. The waiters don’t ring out their own customers. They overwhelm the employee that’s responsible for carry out orders while the waiters just stand around flirting with their female coworkers.Too many people working here and they can’t seem to be able to do simple tasks.
I ordered to go around 12pm. When I walked inside I waited at the counter and 4 servers walked right in front of me not even saying hi or one moment. I waited while the young woman behind the cash register took my order. Food was good and cool designs in the flooring but maybe train the employees to acknowledgement customers no matter how busy they are.
DELICIOUS!! very nice waiter attending us. quick with the drinks. the agua fresca de horchata is so good!!! it’s not powdery at all, very refreshing. the prices are pretty fair. i got quesadilla ranchera and it was very good!! my family tried the empanadas also good. DEF RECOMMEND
I am at a Tropo and my friend and I just had one of the best dinners ever. Besides having the tastiest tacos and the most amazing drinks, customer service was great. Ishia really helped us with the menu and delivered professional service. Thank you so much for making our night an amazing one. We can’t wait to come back and have another great time!!!
A great new mexican place for the Union Centre area. What I didnt know before I got there was they have a huge seafood menu - which I didnt find on the website (though there is a link there now). Lots of fried seafood, and its all great. You can also get all the traditional mexican things that youre used to. The margaritas are a nice size, though they are also pricey - probably turns out to the same as two small margaritas elsewhere.
I went to dinner Friday night for the 1st time with my sister and brother-in-law because we had heard how good the food was. We got drinks, chips and salsa very quickly. My sister ordered the Crazy Chicken and my brother-in-law the Fajitas Texanas. I wanted a combo dish and when I asked our server she showed me where you make your own combo but didnt give me any details. I ordered a pick 3 with a shredded Chicken and shredded Beef burrito and a tamale. We didnt see our server very often but a manager was around frequently at first, refilling our chips and drinks. When the food came they only brought out my sister and brother-in-laws food. I thought they would be right back with mine but after 10 minutes with me sitting there with no food we asked a passing server for a manager. A different manager than we had previously seen came and we asked about my food, all he asked was what I ordered and left, then a few minutes later someone brought my food, Im guessing it had been sitting in the back the whole time. First of all my food wasnt very warm and I was surprised about how bland it was. There was plenty of meat in the burritos but it had no flavor and just a little sauce on top. The tamale was okay but again a little bland. I obviously should have asked the server for more info on how the food was served so I was very disappointed. I was also surprised that the mgr didnt apologize for the delay or come back to check on my food. We still hadnt seen our server again in all this time and had to flag down the mgr and ask for boxes for our leftovers, then again after sitting for a while for our check.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal when I ate at El Trompo this week. Contrary to what most Mexican restaurants call themselves, this is the first time in the last 20 years that I have had an AUTHENTIC Mexican meal reminiscent of the wonderful food I enjoyed when I lived in Southern Arizona and took frequent visits to Mexico. Im so happy to have found this restaurant! Ill definitely go back! Congratulations on a job well done on taste, presentation and customer service!
We were seated quickly the waiter came to our drink order he brought it to our table then disappeared 15 min went by the waiter shows up to take our food order I got my order right away my wife order took 30 minutes while the waiter serve everyone else once we got his attention he could even remember what we order finally my wife got her order in the meantime we had to seat listening to a guys bad singing with way too loud of speakers making a fool of himself. We could get out of there quick enough. We expecting a better experience.
Food is o.k. (bone pieces in steak fahita amd larger bones in chicken entree). Drinks are great amd nicely presented. Deserts are standard Mexican.Normally, it would be 4 stars, but the music is way too loud, you cannot talk to the people across the table. The worst thing is if the singer hits the stage. Out of tune and at a volume that makes you deaf. I would bet $100 that he is the owner. Everybody else with such a lack of skills would have been fired on the spot.
First of all I’m not writing this talk bad about this restaurant but I want the manager or the owner to fix this .. I went to this restaurant the first month they had open. Me and my brother order our food , took forever to be delivery on table. The tacos were terrible no flavor at all, then the guy who recommended me the tacos told me the tortilla are homemade and is fresh, I got my tacos and there were not homemade tortillas and it was serve cold, as a Mexican that a insult. Yesterday I went to try it again and give it a second change . The server was amazing and gave me my drink fast and refilll fast . The food took 45 minute , and it was not even busy. I had order alambres with corn tortillas , I got serve with flour tortillas and they were cold, as a Mexican it was a insult to be serve flour tortillas and the food had no salt or any flavor , they end up giving me corn tortillas and it was cold too.. I end up leaving and fell super disappointed. The service and the vibes to the place is good but the food has no flavor. They need to fix it , this restaurant has a lot of potential to be better.
Ive been to this restaurant three times now and the food is delicious. The grilled meats are seasoned and cooked perfectly. Fajitas Texanas, empanadas and tacos al pastor are really good. The only negative would be dessert, was not a fan of the churros. I thought it would be served warm but it wasnt and they tasted old.
Absolutely amazing food, no complaints what so ever they do a great job, all staff including manager do a wonderful job, the only thing is that it was super cold in there (not just my groups opinion, other tables agreed) as well as bright (the first thing my whole group noticed) making the vibe uncomfortable. They quickly dimmed the lights down some and turned down the AC on request. Definitely try it out!
Bypass this restaurant if you can!The restaurant is located in a nice area but a little difficult to get into because its on a busy corner without its own entrance. The restaurant looks nice but it ends with that.I went on a Sunday so we had to wait about 20mins. When we got inside they had a guy who was singing in Spanish so loud that it started to give me a headache. Apparently what he was singing was funny but if you dont speak Spanish you have no idea. You might be the butt of the joke and not know it.The place was packed so 6ft was not possible. When we got to our table it took them 20 mins to ask us what we wanted to drink. ( water should be always brought before asking what we are drinking). To add to this we knew what we wanted but he wasnt ready to take food orders. After we ordered water and soft drinks it took another 15 mins to bring it. But they did bring us chips and salsa but were only ready to take our orders on appetizers. So we ordered that.Guess what after 20 mins we still didnt have that and my water was empty. After 55 mins of total wait time at the table I decided to leave the party and restaurant. When I called later to check on them I was told the food took another 45 mins to come and another 30 mins to get the check so they can leave out but on a positive note they brought my appetizer for my food out 5 mins after I left.Funny thing is that on that following Thursday I had a coworker go with friends to El Trompo to get drinks and they waited almost 90 mins at the bar and only able to get 1 drink in that time. They waited so long they walked out without paying because they couldnt get the bill to pay.I heard the food was good but if you are going to eat at this place on any busy day then you probably need to be ready to spend 2 hours of your life just to get the food and pay.
I had drinks with my sister and some of her friends the other day at El Trombo. They were quite busy.A woman next to me was served a drink that looked to be on fire! She told me it was from a cube of dry ice at the bottom of the drink, causing it to bubble and sort of look like smoke at breaches the barrier between beverage and atmosphere.Anyway, the drink was pretty cool, and El Trombo is pretty alright.
I came 4 times already as the food was good, but lately without been bias for people coming to eat to this restaurant, the past couple weeks i’m starting getting worry as a resident and taxpayer in West Chester OH that this restaurant is serving excessive alcohol to mexicans customers who are yelling, and getting drunk in what i thought it was a family restaurant … where i was bringing my family, but now it seems more like a low category bar … West Chester police should be present around waiting for all these drunk mexicans driving away with more than couple shots of tequila and several beers… this is West Chester OH, and this restaurant s d his servers are serving their mexican buddies excessive amounts of alcohol … We have a high school across this restaurant … this restaurant needs to move out of West Chester or cut the amount of excessive alcohol serving … not family friendly at all… i’ll not bring my kids to see a bunch of drunk people .., West Chester police needs to get here every day after 6 pm, especially Friday, Saturdays and Sundays…
Nice looking place... Major let down in the taste and the service was meh par at best. Burrito & Taco blah very bland taste. Just a another Mexican chain that taste like the rest. If youve ate at any Mexican chain in the area, then save yourself the time and money because youve already ate here.
Meh, service. Bad food. Dinner appeared to look like Mexican food, but flavoring and consistency made it indiscernible from canned Chef Boyardee spagetti os. If youre in the mood for Mexican your dollars are better spent at any Mexican restaurant, including Taco Bell! Would not recommend to anyone.

2022-07-10This restaurant is Beautifully Decorated and pleasing to the eye.Food is good and plentiful.Acoustics are horrible, I couldnt hear the person across from me at the table, however, we were there on a Saturday night and there were baseball parents there having an incredibly loud time 😬They have outdoor and indoor seating and a fairly large bar area.Bathrooms are clean and nicely decorated as well.

2022-04-10Came on Saturday evening and it was a PARTY! If you are looking for a quiet meal with lots of deep conversations, this isnt the place for you. If you are looking to have fun and feel like you are getting dinner and a show, this is exactly where you need to go! Loud music, drinks served with sparklers, a trumpet player playing Happy Birthday....I LOVED it!And the food was great, too! The complimentary chips and salsa had the right amount of spice. I ordered the El Trompo burrito and it was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Elote Mexicano(street corn) and it was one of the most tender pieces of corn Ive ever had. Prices are slightly above average. Our only negative was the wait. We were quoted 35 minutes but it was closer to an hour before we were seated. It was worth the wait, though!

2022-05-16Fun atmosphere. I went on a Friday night, there was a DJ and dancing mascots. Very fun atmosphere. The music was a little loud for me, but you get use to it. Decent food at a reasonable price. Great drinks.

2022-06-26Been to this restaurant several times and every time is a good time. Such a fun dining experience. Food is delicious and the margarita during Happy Hour made it that more tasty. The staff is so personable and that makes you want to return multiple times. Love to try something new each visit. This time I ordered the ensalada Texana and a raspberry margarita. Give it a try!

2022-06-14I wasnt impress with thier food, however the presentation was amazing! My husband had the Pina colada meal, unfortunately he tasted something unfamiliar & realized it was a little metal piece!!!! We told our waitress & the manager came to talk with us about it, & then offered 50% off just my husbands meal. I had the lamb chop platter, but after my husbands experience it was hard to find the meal appealing....and just to think we were celebrating my husbands birthday....thank God he didnt swallow it!!!

2022-04-09I already been here twice in the past 2 weeks. I saw a friend posted a picture on Facebook and just needed to check it out.I am glad I did! Their food is great and the ambience/vibe is awesome! I feel like I am in Mexico again. 99% of the Local Mexicans dine here which is why I know right away, they must serve Authentic Mexican food! I have been to at least 5 other Mexican restaurants and you hardly see Mexicans dine there. They have a wide variety of options in their menu. Their price is pretty good considering their portions are huge! Very tasteful food and well decorated. The margaritas are the best. I have seen a lot of people celebrated their birthdays there and I wouldnt mind celebrating it there as well. I have ordered seafood and other dishes that I could not pronounce but they are amazing. They also have kids options so if you plan to bring the kids, they can still eat the food they love. I will be back there again for sure!

2022-07-17While the food is generally good, they absolutely screwed us on the portion size (see picture). I understand prices are higher for nearly everything, but I think a little more rice would have been in order. Will not go back and I urge others to go elsewhere.

2021-11-20Quick, friendly service with a wide range of menu items. Everything we had from the Mexican bowls, to the tacos, to the burritos were excellent. Fun and tasty margaritas (a bit pricey but youre paying for the dry ice and gummy worms and extra flare!)

2022-05-19I sat down and even though they had a few groups I didnt feel ignored. The food was good and the manager stopped to check on me twice while my server was busy. The first check came before I ever got my food. Ordered and my plate was on the table within 5 minutes. Would recommend.
