El Toro in other cities:
Oh my gosh! Just LOOK at that margarita!!! There were 4 of us adults and 2 littles. The place is very clean! Love the bathrooms! Beautiful decor thru out. Food was delicious and beautiful ! Staff fast and friendly! The littles enjoyed throwing pennies into the fountain too! Very good!
Seated quickly. Server took our order quickly, then we didnt see her for another 35 minutes. The food was served quickly by a different person, but our server didnt check on how we were or offer refills. Never came back to our section until it was time for the bill. Food was OK.
Had dinner today which was fantastic. My waitress ruined the experience. So she had not brought us the bill my wife had to leave to get to work. I was in the bathroom. Our waitress took it upon herself to stop my wife at the door thinking she was leaving without paying. Then she ask were I was. An the whole time my 15 yr old son was still at the table. Did not appreciate being stopped and accused of trying to leave without payment. Dont think Ill be back to that location anytime soon.
This was my third trip to El Toro in Springfield, this time in celebration of an accomplishment. Usually great food and service, but not yesterday. I experienced pretty bad food poisoning. Vomiting and diarrhea within a few hours of my meal. The person I came with did as well. I will travel to another Mexican restaurant in Fairborn to receive superior Mexican food I expect.
Wow! This restaurant should definitely be rated in the top 3 here in Springfield, Ohio. The restaurant is unexpectedly hidden on the end of a mini mall. Upon entrance I was genuinely impressed by the interior. It is a well designed establishment with many unique features. But to be honest, its not the decor that will bring you back. The food is amazing and the service is impeccable. You will enjoy it as well.
Placed a order showed up and was told they were out of what I ordered. I was completely okay with that I work in a restaurant myself so I understand I just asked to cancel my payment on my card and was told that they wouldn’t cancel the payment on my card even though they didn’t cook anything and then I was told to leave so I did and now I’m having to dispute the charge with my bank to get my money back. Absolutely won’t come back to a place where they basically stole $21.18 if anything the EL Toro on south limestone i would recommend.
Very disappointed the past couple times we went. The staff has been rude. The girl at the front needs training on how to correctly do her job and not hang up on people when they call nor give rude looks to customers. If you dont like your job find another one customer service isnt for everyone and thats ok.. There was a bug was in my food and the response was its nature it happens. Only an apology was offered which let me be clear I was ok with but not after getting mean mugged while waiting for my food that by the time I got to eat was cold. I dont know if they are under new management but I will NOT be back any time soon.
First time there, We walked in and 3 were in a corner looking at something. It took them awhile to acknowledge us and seat us. We didnt say anything regarding this but it definitely set a tone. They were not the friendliest people and the food was meh at best. I would be hard pressed to go back.
Got there at 9. Google says they close at 1030. We were rushed and told the kitchen closes at 915. My kids got cheese quesadillas and the cheese wasnt melted. Our queso dip wasnt melted. There was more cilantro on the taco than anything else. The waiter was EXTREMELY rude. Only good thing was the margarita. This is the first time Ive been in there since they moved locations. Gotta say extremely disappointed.
This Branch of El Toro is one of the highest I have encounter. Dealing with the pandemic in a way that other restaurants are not. with a calm and friendly staff always looking to please the guest following the regulations that need to be followed.I will like to invite you to try it yourself.here is my timeline on the visit:arrived: 6:00 pm (6 tables ahead of me)Sat: 6:15 pm ( waters and clean space ready for me and my guest)After ordering my drinks: 6:20 pm ( My guest had a 20 Oz Frozen Raspberry Margarita & I got a whiskey on the rocks)ORDER: 6:35 ( THE SERVER GAVE US SOME SUGGESTIONS AND EXPLAINED HOW THINGS ARE WORKING WITH THE PANDEMIC AND THE WAY THEY ARE HANDLING THE FOOD)ORDER ARRIVED: **6:45 PM ** 10 min to bring me an Appetizer and my meal as I asked to bring everything when is ready even if the appetizer and the main meal were out at the same time...**10min!!!This place is an amazing structure of what a Great, good quality food and service should be about.CONGRATULATIONS! you are a blessing establishment.
There are lots of places to get Mexican food in Springfield, but El Toro for me is the most consistent. Their salsa and cheese dip are excellent. I recommend the Tacos de Asada. Their grilled chicken is easily the best in the area. The renovations are beautiful and when I am in town I can’t wait to eat here.
Visited El Toro on Bechtel for lunch. From the moment we walked in they treated us as if we were an inconvenience. Seven people crowded into a booth. The service was the worst ever. If we did get her attention, she rolled her eyes as if annoyed. We had to ask three times for to-go boxes and she refused to give us containers for salsa. We did tip but she certainly did not earn the tip. No need to patronize this establishment ever again.
We typically go to this particular restaurant 2-3 times a month. We have never had a bad experience here, until this visit. My wife ordered steak tacos. I ordered steak fajita burrito. Her tacos came out 10 minutes before my burrito, and when my burrito came out it came out as chicken not steak. This will no way stop us from going here, but we may take a break from them for a while.
We always go to the location in Huber Heights and are accustomed to the level of service and quality there. That said, the North Bechtle location was relatively terrible. The hostess took us to our booth, threw down the menus and walked away without saying anything before wed even sat down. Then we waited 15 minutes before the waiter (who I think was the only one working the entire restaurant) came to take our drink order. Chips and salsa came 5 minutes AFTER that. After we finally got to order, the food came quickly and was pretty good, so at least theres that. The thing that was really irritating was a couple of workers vacuuming our section from the time our food was delivered to the time I finally told them to just stop. As a matter of fact, I asked the kid vacuuming if he was getting ready to do our booth and he said yes, but you can stay... lol! I understand heavy cleaning going on when you go to a restaurant within a half hour or so of close, but we got there at 8:30 and its open until 10:30. There was also a worker shaking out a floor mat right behind our both. Anyway, not going back to this location again.
This location used to be one of the better restaurants in town, but unfortunately over the years as they have grown in popularity, service and quality of food has went way down. I have given this restaurant chance after chance but honestly Its just a waste of my time and money. If I were you Id choose another location within the Springfield area.
This was good. Good prices, good portions, good service, tasted great. Id definitely reccomend for a quick bite and good flavor. Ill be back next time Im in town for sure. Only downfall was the workers kids running around. It was nearing closing time when we left but thats very annoying and unprofessional.
I never complain about food, but just for the record I ordered the shredded beef chimichangas not the bell pepper chimichangas. 90% pepper 10% beef. So bad. Wont be back. Service was terrible too. Didnt get one thing we ordered. Never offered refills. A shame theyre trying to grow when this location isnt 100%.
Middle to upper tier pricing for standard authentic Mexican fare. Think strip mall restauraunt with Texas Road House prices and Applebees quality food. Not great. Not horrible. Good for a quiet weeknight out of the house or a casual lunch on a Friday. Maybe go with something nicer if your date is wearing an outfit that requires high heels, though.
I ordered the Chimichangas from doordash, the chimis were bloated and overcooked, but far worse, the refried beans that come in the same container were actual liquid soup. Making the Chimichangas soggy, as well as burnt. Completely inedible. Avoid this place during quarentine.EDIT: Ordered on Doordash again after nearly 6 months and they gave us the wrong order. These people clearly just do not care at all
Hated this place. Had terrible food but I ate it anyways. I didnt really think much of it until I seen the bill. Which was outrageous for the quality of food I got. I said something about it and they got incredibly rude with me. And said in Spanish to my waiter, hes going to pay or were calling the cops. I had my buddy with me who told me everything this guy said. I paid, but will never, ever be back again. Would leave 0 stars if I could
Good food, extremely, extremely, extremely rude servers. Forgot to bring out part of our food not once but twice, ask another server for my food after fifteen minutes and he just looked and walk right past, icing on the cake four more just came on to start they shift, were done eating, looking for our server for like ten minutes, finally a girl comes over, can I pay my bill, her reply is you pay up front, now mind you the last time I came, we give the money to the server. Needless to say, I can get food elsewhere keep that crappy service. Will NEVER go back.
This restaurant has gone downhill, called in an order for 2 soft shredded chicken tacos, they gave us beef. I ordered chicken chimichangas and the were burnt. My daughter who is 23 asked for a pepsi they gave her a kids size cup and charged me close to $3 for it. Took them 10 mins to get pur food from the kitchen after the time they said it woild take. We wont be going back there again.
Staff extremely not customer friendly. Tried asking questions about the food and the waitress was acting like I was wasting her time. Didnt wait for food to post a review because customer service set the mood of the entire dinner. Oh yeah my poppers just came out over cooked.
I normally 5 star every el Toro but we went around 930. They were disappointed to see us walk in so close to closing and so they werent super polite and the deserts (to go, so they could close at 10) were about as half added and poorly presented as could be. However, my experiences are usually always pleasant at El Toro but I do recommend that people eat at the one on S.limestone. theres just a little more love in the atmosphere and food at the S.lime location...
For the most part my food was okay however the refried beans were so running they were running off the plate I asked my server why he could not answer perhaps he could not speak English so I went to the manager who aggravated me even farther this was very unacceptable

2022-01-13This place is my jam. The margaritas are excellent, especially their Cadillac margaritas, which require some skill when consuming more than a couple. The food is tasty, if fairly standard U.S.-ified Mexican cuisine. The fajita quesadillas (with steak) are one of my favorites. The atmosphere of their new N Bechtle location is outstanding, and if you havent been near that El Toro location since their move, I highly recommend stopping by and taking in the scenery. El Toro is easily one of my favorite restaurants in the Dayton/Springfield area, and this particular locations decor sets it apart from other locations.1/13/22 update - Theyre still doing a great job. Ive been ordering more takeout and everything is accurate and travels well. The carry-out cocktails are also a huge benefit. Still recommend El Toro over any other Mexican restaurant in the area. My 7-year-old got food poisoning at Cinco de Mayo, which I originally found to be a decent contender to El Toro, but Im not going back there anymore. Its just another reason to keep going to The Bull.

2022-02-06We have been here many times, & always have had a great experience, but not today. My food was very good, but my wife did not get what she ordered. Our waitress didnt write down our order, then came back to question me as to what Id ordered. She was very slow to check on us. We had to wait a long time to get a to- go box, refills, & then the check. We could see her beside the bar just talking while we waited.

2022-06-20I will never eat at another Mexican food restaurant again in my life without comparing it to here!!! Weekly specials and everyday drink specials make this a must visit. We eat here at least twice a week and are never disappointed. I might add taco Tuesday is amazing!!!! You cant beat the prices!!!

2022-04-10Service was great, food was great, HOWEVER, I paid $13.95 for the carnitas, couldn’t finish, got a take-home box. I got to the car and realized I had left box at our table. My daughter went back in to get it and it was gone. I understand a quick turnaround time, but usually the box is set aside in case the patron returns. Less than 5 minutes had passed, no one was helpful or seemed concerned. Very disappointed!

2021-01-28Great! Really cool atmosphere and decor. Modern and clean. The menu was easily understood and they had good lunch specials. The bar was super cool and made out of some sort of glazed sparkling blue material. They had under lights illuminating their bottles that changed colors periodically, very clever. The service was quick and efficient. And the food was probably the best Mexican food I’ve ever had in Springfield. I had the monster burrito with shrimp steak and chicken and it was only 13.75. That’s a great value. They could have charged 18 or 20 for it for the quality of the meal and the service and atmosphere alone easily.

2022-05-28I grew up in Springfield and one of the saddest things about moving was leaving El Toro. My family ate here almost religiously for years—at least once or twice a week. The food is fantastic. I normally order the burrito fajitas texanas. It’s huge and delicious. I haven’t gotten much here that wasn’t really good. Maybe the tacos can be a little lack luster, but that’s about it.So many of the staff members are wonderful. They have the best salsa and queso around.

2022-06-23Fajita Texanas as lunch was great. It was like good for 2 people, and they immediately gave us tacos when we sat down! Food was really great and the staff were in a good mood and accommodating. 👍🏻

2022-05-14I have been eating here for awhile. Tonight me and my boyfriend ordered takeout and the food wasnt good at all! They messed our orders up and 2 of the burritos only had like 3 pieces of steak in them. We have had bad experiences the last couple times we have ate there. Were done with them!

2020-05-23They were extremely slow on a very small order and couldn’t even explain why I stood here for a half hour for two things
