El Toro in other cities:
Over the years, this has been a great place to dine. The past 12 months or so, the service and the food has gone downhill. Last night, we were one of only apx. 3 patrons in the restaurant and simply could not get service. We saw our waitress only when we sat down and when the food was brought to the table. No one came by to see how we were doing or have our beverages refilled. Management and all the waitresses were standing by the door talking and laughing. Most of the girls were on their phone and the guys seemed WAY to interested in what they were doing. Wont be back for awhile because of the waitress staff simply cant/wont do their jobs and management is only interested in getting a date, Imo. I wont go into the food quality and how it has suffered as well.
Would not recommend. Sat down in an almost empty dining room. Two other couples sat down after. Both of which were served before us. Then had to ask twice for queso. Then people who were obviously friends of the staff came in and and had food served to them before us. When finally received food it was wrong. Came back the second time was closer to being right so I just accepted it; especially considering it had been almost an hour and I was starving.
This is a place where my large family would go and celebrate birthdays and special occasions. NO MORE! Weve ordered takeout many times and our order is always missing something. Always! We pay good money and tip well and either our order is not correct or its missing items. One time they missed an entire meal. Im done with this place and my family and friends will not be visiting here again either. Weve found a new Mexican place with better service and more affordable prices. Bye El Toro!
This was a good experience. The menu had a lot of options; I chose to go with a seafood based fajita plate. Heres what I liked about the restaurant. We were seated quickly and our waiter greeted us at our table very timely fashion. He answered all the questions that we had and was very attentive to our needs throughout the visit. Once our food was ordered, it came out to our table very quickly. It was hot and fresh. I have no complaints, in fact, I dont know anything that could have made this visit any better. The prices are fair, the staff are great, and the food was delicious.
We both ordered the lunch chimichanga and I asked for mine crisp another words fried hard and when I got it and cut into it it was not as I had asked for it. The food is always good there dont get me wrong but when you specify something you kind of expect it to show up in front of you as you asked for it. Other than that the food at El Toros are always good
As far as food taste, the chicken soup is bland. As far as the chicken burrito it is super spicy. The waiter shouldve mentioned the heat level since we are a bunch of white folks. And they didnt offer substitutions on changing out rice with the plate. The chicken flautas were delicious but it doesnt come with a little guacamole to spread over it. But the ambience is delightful.
Taco Tuesday at El Toro in Bellbroke was terrible. Our server Lexy was slow and unattentive. She was at our table 3 times after that she disappeared had whistle to get her attention and order dessert. Then as I was walking out I overheard her telling the other staff we were rude/disrespectful.I’ve waited tables for 20 years and that was the worst service EVER!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.After the sever being gone after our drink order for twenty minutes we flagged down another server who couldnt even pronounce Noir read the menu items, we ordered then waited 27 more minutes, as we were about to leave the food came. I ordered the signature dish which consisted of cold shrimp cold steak cold chicken on a sizzling Bowl with a side of ice cold rice and beans. the server came back and we told him it was cold. He grabs the food (after spilling it on my lap of course) said he knows the problem what ever that means. Then proceeded to take it back to fix it??? as we asked for the check for the drink order. Only seen the manager once, of course his eyes were on his phone the whole time. Couldnt even get his attention. Sad excuse for a restaurant. If I could give negative stars I would.
This place was amazing! My cousin and I had warm chips and salsa on the table within a minute of sitting down. The waiter was prompt and had our food order to us so fast!! Ive never gotten food so fast before! Our dessert came fast too and all the staff was friendly with my cousins baby who loves to wave. They all enjoyed waving back to him. Wonderful experience!!
2 stars only because the food was good as usual. We love the place but 3 of the last 4 trips have had HORRIBLY slow service. Gabriel is a nice enough waiter, but does not do his job well at all. We sat there for 15-20 minutes without having our drink order taken. We ordered food at the same time. 5 minutes later watched another family sit down. Gabriel was their waiter as well. I dont know for sure, but I think he took their order before he ever put our order in. When our food started arriving we got one of 3 plates while the table got 3 of their plates right after. We got one more and the other table got 2 more. Then we finally got our last plate. At this point we had been there roughly 40 minutes or so. Dont know that I will be returning to this location for some time.
Really like this place. No loud music, we take special guests here so we can have delicious food and the ability to have a conversation without screaming over obnoxious music. Locked ourselves out of our vehicle and they worked so hard to try to help us out. Finally had to call a service, but not for lack of them trying. Thanks guys.
Sorry guys and gals but this is my second trip, thinking maybe the last El Toro was fake cheese central. The Mexican restaurants I enjoy are ones where the cheese in the enchilada doesn’t form like a brick. It’s as if they cheap out on the most important part of Mexican food; the cheese?! Never again. However, I’m in a conundrum because every one of the staff greeted me and asked if I was helped. :)
I continued to visit it regularly. Last two times have not been the 4 stars experience. Both the Taco Salad and the Enchiladas Verdes have been a deception. The chicken on the salad was not fajita style but kind of stewed and the juices permeated the shell. The Enchilada Verde was terrible. When I bit into the enchilada, I got a mouthful of fat and gristle. The rest of it was the same. Disgusting! El Toro you lost two faithful customers and I cant recommend you any longer.
I wish we could do 0 stars. They are the worst restaurant in the entire industry. Not only did they royally mess up the entire 9 person order but they also didnt bring everyones food in time. In fact three people didnt get food until well after 40 minutes of everyone elses messed up orders. Two people had partial orders and waited over 25 minutes for their other half to arrive all while the other three didnt have their food at all. So the other four of us waited and got cold food and no one enjoyed anything. In addition, we waited well over 1.5hrs to be served any food. The waiter was clearly asked specific questions about menu items and the waiter was wrong and then attempted to tell the customer that he said something different. We had to keep asking for more chips while we waited for food and they would only bring one basket at a time for 9 starving people. What a disgraceful place. Ruined our Friday.
The staff was rude especially the skinny dude with spike hair he need to work on his people skill. We order by phone came to eat at the joint there was nobody at the entree to seat us or greed us couple of our co-worker where already sitting down in a big table so we just walk to the table skinny dude came saying that he was at the door not true then he was trying to make us sit where he wanted it i refuse we where alredy sitting down order the drink and everything. Did not like the his attitude. A good thing was the food and price cant complain about that.
Been eating at this spot since I was kid, and its been delicious and consistent the entire time. Ive had queso from Mexican restaurants in SoCal that dont even come close to El Toro queso. The service is always fantastic, the value is great, and the food is outstanding.
The food was fine. The staff was too preoccupied with the soccer game tobe remotely friendly or attentive at all. No silverware no check for over 30 mins after we were clearly done and our carry out order had already been brought out. Our server just completely disappeared. Had to flag someone else down to be able to leave.
Just home from picking up our dinner. Told it would be 25 minutes, took 55 minutes. That said it might have been worth the wait but most certainly wasn’t. Ordered chili verde (pork) it was chicken with green sauce and overcooked chicken at that. Second meal was chicken supremo asked for peppers to be added - sigh- no peppers, no sauce and chicken overcooked. What happened to the el toro we once enjoyed......
Have had multiple negative experiences at this location, as well as the other local El Toros. Wrong food always, missing food, not refilling drinks or chips, no silverware or napkins, slow or nonexistent staff... Today the man delivering the food to us knocked over a glass of water on our table by leaning acrossed, soaked my leg and didnt even apologize. Our waiter barely tried to help by bringing 3 extra napkins 🙄
Totally pathetic. Taco Tuesday, but they skimp on the cheese. Plenty of lettuce, though. I ask why and they say the manager told them to not offer pork on Tuesday and put on light cheese. Didnt have this problem last week in Huber Heights. If you cant offer the same product from Mon, Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat and Sun on Tuesday, dont offer it to begin with. There are two other local restaurants that offer this special I could go to that offer the same product all seven days of the week.
My boyfriend and I loved eating here however when we went today at 2:34 we were not given lunch menus. When I asked one of the managers for the lunch menus he said lunch ended at 2:30. I tried talking to the manager and showed him the restaurant menu that stated lunch ended at 3:00. The manager and the server refused to still let us order off the menu so at this point I was just frustrated and my boyfriend and I just left and we will not be coming back to this location
This place is amazing!I used to live in Centerville and visited the Alex-Bell/Wilmington Pike location all the time, but just went back again over Thanksgiving 2017. They have the best margarita (Cadillac) Ive ever tasted and it comes with a floater of amaretto. (Bad Juans at Elsas are very good too, but try this one for a change of pace.)I also visited the new location on 741 in Springboro across from DLM in the old Max & Ermas building, and the Cadillac margarita was freakin spectacular there too. Ask for Mario at the Alex-Bell store, and Luis on 741. My favorite dish is the steak fajitas. Always friendly. If I had one suggestion, it would be to the afternoon greeter at the Alex-Bell location: when a customer comes in, smile and say hello or welcome. Always smile. Let the customer know that youre happy theyre choosing to spend their hard-earned money at your establishment.
If you cannot have: A: tomatoes, B: members of the capsicum varieties of pepper plants, or C: artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives: there is NOTHING to eat here.Furthermore, the menu options for drinks which are not alcoholic in nature are woefully limited and do not include large glasses of whole milk, a mortal sin in any serious Mexican restaurant. All in all, given my free choice in dining establishment I would sooner eat out of a Burgerking Dumpster than patron El Torro, whose Spanish name in translation The Bull I feel is a fairly accurate summation of both their quality of food AND service and the degree of hype surrounding it.
Most excellent chile rellenos I have ever had. Though they vary in level of spice depending on how the pepper crops are doing, they are always delicious. Their enchiladas are great too. They use monterey cheese exclusively, no cheddar, and I love that. Excellent cheap Mexican food!

2022-04-30Just a few folks there when we arrived. Unfriendly greeting Seated us right next to the only table occupied in the place which was right next to the reception desk up front by the entrance. The entire time we were there the staff, receptionist, the waiters and servers congregated next to the desk , talking loudly & made for a totally unnecessary experience. Waitress talked in a whisper. My wife ordered two margaritas, requesting they be mixed using Patron. When the bill arrived, it showed the regular price of each margarita plus two additional charges for a shot of Patron, each. I ordered street tacos which were cold, dry & flavorless. Only second time here....maybe we caught them on a bad night. Wont be back. You can do much better elsewhere.

2022-04-05Margaritas came in a beer mug and kind of on the puny side/no frills. Seating is also currently limited during dinner/lunch rush due to renovations. Food came ungodly fast and as always, I enjoyed and recommend the chicken fajita quesadilla with a side of fresh jalapenos!

2022-06-10Possibly the worst meal I ever bought. Cheese enchilada has some horribly salty processed cheese and sweet pizza sauce, the taco meat was worse than taco bell, and I didnt think that was possible, its some type of paste, the chili rellenos was a pepper that had not been cored or seeded, was wrapped in some weird shell and the taco and chili had that awful processed pretend cheese food.

2019-06-30Great food, good service as always.👌 We were here many times when we lived here. Ten years has passed and El Toro still here and even has many more branches! One dish we always love is the Chili Relleno. Poco Pollo was awesome, perfectly cook chicken and well seasoned ground beef topping. We love all the dishes here.

2022-02-07I was in a party of 9 people. Everyone very much liked the food they ordered. I liked the seafood fajita and classic side dishes. The service was good and was friendly. Will return!

2022-03-18Ordered online. Food was ready exactly at the time they said it would be (I was early). The amount of food I went home with for the money I spent was beyond satisfactory. Would have spent the same amount at a fast food joint for far less food and less tasty food at that. Thank you!!!

2022-02-23This place used to be on point! The last six months or so haven’t been so great. The food has been lacking flavor, the margaritas very weak, and the service has struggled. Used to be our go to for mexican.
