Really enjoyed this cute restaurant! It honestly was some of the absolute best Mexican food I have ever had. The tilapia tacos were seasoned perfectly and were the best I have had. Definitely would recommend if youre anywhere close to the area!!! 👌
The food and service was great! Margaritas are delicious. Its best to get the pitcher if you plan to order more than one drink. Its our go to Mexican restaurant.

I order take out here every Friday, the staff is always very friendly and helpful. My order is always ready on time, and the food is some of the better Tex mex style food around. I’ve spent a lot of time in Houston and it’s still impossible to find real authentic Mexican cuisine up here in Ohio, but this is great Tex mex food, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended.
Best Mexican food hands down. Salsa and queso are amazing. Food is always fast and fresh off the grille. Puts every other Mexican restaurant to shame around here. Always look forward coming here!

Paola was horrible. One of the worst waitress’s I’ve ever had. I have been going to el palenque for the past 3 years. She is very disrespectful. Uses foul language, disrespects the company and employees. Very toxic person. Never want her again as a waitress. Other than her, it’s a 5 star restaurant! Hands down.
Unlike other reviewers, our problem is not with the service, but the food. If Authentic Mexican is code for something else Im going to need a hint, because this was clearly NOT authentic. All of the sauces had way too much sugar and too little (if any) spice. Chef Mike also made an appearance with impossibly fast cooking times for two enchilada plates, in less than 3 minutes. Thats code for the food being microwaved, including the churros I mistakenly ordered for dessert. We should have read the warning signs on our way in: a door handle made for some kind of cabinet, booth seating that remind me of granite slabs, and margaritas with a hint of tequila and a dash of store bought mix. Actually, the first sign should have been the business next door: Quickys Drive Thru Beer Cave. No, Im not joking.The service was polite and prompt, and really served our escape from this purgatory of restaurants well.

First time going here! Great atmosphere, great service, and great great food! Sounds weird but I go alot by the rice at Mexican food joints, its alil different at all of them and this place has by far my favorite Ive tried!! Everything was good its all great priced and Ill be going here alot.

I was here 2 weeks in a row and had Paola. She has been so rude. didnt seem to like taking my orders, had a attitude of sorts. Not a customer friendly lady. Food was fantastic as always though.
It was about a month ago, came to order take out as I normally do from here. “Yolly” as printed on the receipt. The lady taking my order was really inpatient and rude as I decided what to get. After a couple minutes the lady started yelling for the manager in spanish. She thought I couldn’t understand what she was saying. She said she didn’t have patients for people like me and really rude comments as she was walking away. I recently encountered another bad experience when dining in. My server was so kind and attentive like always. Food was amazing! Unfortunately when paying my bill the same lady had an attitude towards me for wanting to write the tip down myself and signing my receipt to complete my transaction. I don’t know if the managers notice this and should not be allowed since it is illegal.
The food and the service was wonderful, went there for my Anniversary. And our waitress Klyle was awesome. Will definitely be returning 😌.
Good Mexican food in a strip mall. This was our third visit here, and each time dinner has been great.The only disappointment was the churros we had for dessert. In the past they have been good. Today they were drowning in chocolate syrup, and that was all you could taste.

This place left a bitter taste in my mouth.👍The Good: Portion size. Food was just okay.👎The Bad: Did not seat every other table for Social Distancing purposes (They did have extenders on top of the booths to try to seclude them but continued to sit everyone back to back in booths and in the center).🚫 The Ugly: this was my first visit. Our party ordered the pitcher of margaritas per the special on the board. Upon receiving the check we were told the pitcher flavor and type we ordered was not on special, the special was only on the lime flavor on the rocks only. The sign on Thursday indicates on the rocks but Saturday doesnt indicate a type or flavor for the special so im not sure how someone would know that. We brought it up to the waitress. She offered to get a manager. The manager came over and I explained it to him. He defended the sign and looked at me as if I was crazy. After some more back n forth. He adjusted the bill but the entire thing was very misleading. For this reason this entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Not to mention the margaritas werent that strong compared to other local Mexican restaurants.I wouldnt recommend this place.#tiatriedit
My husband tried El Palenque for the first time yesterday, 1/18/22, and brought home some leftovers. I ate them and we decided to go today 1/19/22 for lunch. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is definitely a hidden gem. I loved our waitress. She was very attentive and great with our kids. The food was fast and hot and service was amazing. The food was fresh and tasty. I will be back for my birthday in a month. Love it!!!

This is a traditional Mexican restaurant. One of our favorites in the lake county area. I almost always get the #35 Carnitas. Plenty of food for two or lunch the next day. The fresh chips and salsa is great to snack on before the main course is served. Parking lot fills up quickly, but there is always plenty of room inside. Cozy atmosphere with spacious seating area.
2021 - Best Mexican in the area. They willingly make changes. I asked my veggies not include peppers then added squash, onion and mushrooms. It was great! #59. Eat outside. It is gorgeous! Careful with the back gate. It is broken.2019 - There is somewhat of a language barrier but otherwise the food is very good

Ive had many positive experiences here. Dont go on a Mondays if you enjoy getting refills, completing your order in a timely manner, or not being talked down to by the cashier when your ask to split the 2 person order. Itll be a while before i consider repeating my trip.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Not only is the food delicious, you also get free chips and salsa before your meal while you wait! My favorite thing to order here is the fish tacos -- they are to die for 😍It can get a little busy here at times especially during the weekends but I can honestly say its worth the wait. Dont hesitate to come here to get a bite to eat if youre feeling hungry, it wont disappoint.
This place is a 5 star gem. They offered great friendly quick service, delicious food! Staff was very attentive, we were seated quickly at our arrival. You have the option to be seated at bar, table, both or at the beautiful outdoor back terrace. The terrace is full of beautiful huge flower baskets and colorful umbrellas. The restaurant inside has a warming decoration of wine barrels and it has a very welcoming positive vibe. The food was absolutely delicious, served hot and the portions are huge.

Busy restaurant that can keep up with their customers needs. Would highly recommend this place to anyone that enjoys Mexican food. Always hot and fresh. 99 cent tacos on Mondays and the Fajita night is only $9.99 and is enough for 2 to share. Tell them its your birthday and enjoy the surprise birthday gift!

I couldn’t say enough good things about here. The food was cheap with hefty portions. My burrito was delicious and left me very full. Service was so fast we were in and out in 45 minutes. Combined meal price for 3 adults and a kid was less than $40 and everyone left full and happy. 10/10

So this is my second time to the restaurant the first time was on Tuesday and everything was fabulous now today is Sunday and the service was horrible I waited 2 hours before I actually got my food and then when I get home I open up my container not only do I have a half a steak compared to what my first plate look like and not to mention my friend plate had a full steak on it and to top it off my food is raw.. I came to this place tonight because I thought the first visit was phenomenal and I had a taste for their steak but Im very disappointed in what I left with and how long it took me to get my food I will be taking my food back tomorrow and getting my money back
I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the parking. But other then the parking everything was perfect. My husband and I was just there this past weekend for our 5th wedding anniversary. The waitress was super nice, and as soon as we put our order in our food was in front of us not even 10 minutes later. It was absolutely delicious. Can not wait to come back.

Love this place but sadly the last couple times I’ve visited it’s been subpar. I get the same exact thing everytime I go and it’s just not the same anymore.
I got take out for the first time today and omg it’s delicious. The girl that took my order was very nice and patient (I had bad cell service). The food is amazing. I got enchiladas, tamales and churros. Everything was 5 out of 5. The inside of the restaurant is super cleans and inviting. The bar is huge. Definitely will be back!

The first time I ate here, I had a tray of food a server was carrying, spill on me. I didnt go back for about a year, then my husband said we had to try again. We went there about a month ago and the fajitas and chips and salsa were really good. Went back today to celebrate fathers day, food was good, quick service, but right now, my entire family is sick to thier stomachs, there are not enough bathrooms in the house. 🤢
This was the worst establishment Ive been in a while the music was way too loud our friends arrived at tables and I had to ask to please clear a bunch of plates and clean tables at their table in our group for a funeral repass gathering which yes was a large party but service took forever and didnt have coke or Pepsi also got my partners drink order wrong food also took a hot minute to get there bathrooms also not very well kept and believe I got sick shortly after our server was nice however and had to deal with our large party but these are things that should just be improved on and as someone who works in the food industry I just wasnt pleased and doubt I will return

Love this place! Great service and even better prices! Food is great and Taco Mondays are our favorite! Cant beat their prices at $0.99 per taco (Mondays). Also, drinks are fabulous and cheap. Thank you to the staff and we will be back again and again! :)
Food was good...Service...not so much..Had ordered TO GO..which I phoned in...when I asked for my $ total I got hung up on. I called back...hung up on again.??? The man at cash register was very unfriendly. Very uncomfortable. ....not sure Id come back😒

Excellent cuisine and fabulous margaritas n mojitos. Very busy on Fathers Day. Friendly and attentive staff throughout the meal, although it took nearly half an hour and 4 requests to get our check. Absolutely recommend! Great for family outings or date night ... portions are huge - bring your appetite and a couple friends if you plan to have appetizers AND entrees!

My favorite cuisine is authentic mexican, not chipotle everything under the sun rolled up in a flour tortilla. Had lunch today: excellent service,greeted immediately by a friendly face. Food was fantastic, reasonably priced and out of the kitchen fast and hot. We will be back. 4-stars

Best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time.Every time I’ve gone (writing this review 6) service was great, wait time was short, and food tasted amazing. Prices are nice for how much food you get. My favorite order is the Street Tacos, meat and pineapple packed flavorful tacos with a onion and cilantro mix, a hot sauce dip, and a big bowl of beans.

The food in here is excellent. The take out service is very poor. We ordered and drove 15 miles only to find they couldnt find our order , the only thing the girl was able to offer was it might be in the back, so we Waited in the car for 15 minutes as the place was packed at every table and no social distancing. Go back in and there are 4 more people with lost orders. Still it might be in the back. No management anywhere and the girl at the front is overwhelmed. We eventually just left as there are plenty of other good restaurants in this county that offer excellent service.I would go back here but not for take out and definitely not until this pandemic is over.

This place has very good food and fast, friendly service. After only being seated for 10 minutes we already had our orders and everything was very good, steak fajitas and the nachos supremos.

So we havent eaten in the restaurant but have ordered it to go from them. We have been searching for a good Mexican place since we moved to the area and finally we did! It portions are great, prices arent too bad, and the food is so good! I love the chimichangas and the tamales are fantastic along with the queso. They are very nice with requests(asked them to pour queso over a burrito that didnt come with it). Probably going to order from them tonight for dinner 😅

Awesome menu .. Different choices than other Mexican.. Seems more Tex-Mex.. I had an entre with a fried egg on top. Havent had anything like this since my kids were little and we frequented ElCharrito..Brought back great memories.. Nice staff..

Yesterday I took my family to eat out. I insisted I wanted something outside. Since its so beautiful the last couple of days with the good weather. My daughter told me of a very nice Mexican restaurant.Plus the drinks are good! She wasnt sure if they had an outside. So we went---El Palenque to our surprise DOES have a quaint area in the back (fenced in) and the pretty flowers gave a GREAT touch!!!There were so many selections of yummy things! We started with drinks I had a coconut mojito and my daughter had the signature drink. Our waitress was a very sweet patient and helpful. Everyone at the restaurant was very very nice. We had such a good time and loved all the food even my child ate very good!?That right there is a miracle (she is picky,UGH!)They even had a kids menu! My child ate a beef burrito, I had a chipotle seafood (SO Good!!) and portions were GREAT!!! We are ALL hearty eaters,we even had leftovers (-:I definitely recommend trying this restaurant!!! We will be back 👍👍👍👍👍

El Palenque is always top notch. Their service is great. The food is outstanding. We love going for the specials. Monday is 99 cent tacos plus 3.99 margaritas. You can order three tacos and a drink and have a nice dinner for under $7! Amazing.
Great food at a cheap price. Edit. I used to love this place. Last time I went 40 min after pick up time food was ready. Got home picked up bag and everything fell out. Try to get a refund. Was told had to go through place I ordered through. Or come back to pick up which was not possible after the long wait time to begin with. Been to this place so many times, and I work in a restaurant for 15 years so I know how things go but this left me not wanting to ever go back. Thanks
I absolutely love it here!!! The service and food is excellent, we eat here at least twice a month. The portions are plentiful I always leave with a to go box! Monday nights are good for the young kids due to it being 1$ taco night and there is a balloon artist.

Nothing really spoke to me that told me I needed to come back. The queso was good, but tasted like it was just out of a can. The lobster chimichangas were pretty good, but not phenomenal. The seafood enchiladas really threw us for a loop though. They came with red enchilada sauce on them instead of a white cream/cheese sauce. We didnt even think to ask because neither of us had ever seen something like that before. The red sauce was way overpowering, and you couldnt even taste the seafood in it. We ended up just unrolling them and eating the filling with our chips and queso.
Put it on the bucket list.....best night to go is on taco Monday. They cater to u like u are royalty. Great place, reasonable price, and good food.

Delicious authentic food. Drinks can be a little pricy and some of the portions are small for the price that is listed on the menu. When we go its usually a treat, and we dont mind paying a little more. The patio is very nice to sit on in the warm weather. Chips and homemade salsa is delicious!
My fiancée and I received a recommendation from a friend of ours in Cleveland, Ohio, to stop by and try a Mexican Restaurant named El Palenque on our way to visit my son. Its very rare for me to find a Mexican Cuisine Restaurant in the North that, can compare to the restaurants in Texas and Mexico Im more accustomed to. El Palenque did just that! Just a disclaimer; I base my comparisons on Mom and Pop style restaurants where you usually get the most authentic and tasty traditional cuisines! We started off with the typical basket of tortilla chips with Salsa and a bowl of Chile con Queso Dip (Recommended to us at the restaurant). We also ordered a appetizer of Tamales with Pork. We then ordered our main dishes in which she ordered a Quesadilla de Fajita and I ordered the Camarones Al Ajillo. Everything tasted amazing! Not only was it authentic but, everything was homemade and made fresh that same day!The restaurant itself was clean and sanitized to include their restrooms! Their staff were very attentive and friendly! For those with a budget restriction the prices are reasonable and food portions are great (Youll get your moneys worth and then some)! I like to give a special thanks to El Palenques cooks for a excellent meal! Also, a special thanks to my friend James for the suggestion! We will definitely stop in again during our next visit! I would highly recommend El Palenque to anyone for a great homemade and authentic Mexican Cuisine meal!
Got Vegetarian Enchiladas, which are 3 cheese enchiladas covered in yummy, seasoned veggies. Comes with rice, lettuce and sour cream. I asked if it came with rice and refried beans, and I got those on a separate dish. In essence, two servings of rice. There was so much food, I had to box more than half of it. Their chips and salsa are very good, and got a nice, big mug of Dos Equis Ambar on draft. Monday is 99 cent taco day, chicken or beef. My spouse got three of those, and was stuffed. Very good service and no crowd at lunch. I assume it will be crazy for Cinco de Mayo. Glad we went early!

Food was absolutely amazing. Big portions. Very tasty. My wife ordered a Margarita, very delicious she says. I strongly suggest this restaurant.

I have picked up Doordash orders from this restaurant and finally ordered yesterday for myself..I ordered the fajita salad yesterday, and went back the next day to get another one..Price was reasonable, food was very fresh, cant wait to try another dish!!! Very impressed, happy i stay right down the street!!
One of those places that qualifies by dont judge a book by its cover. The outside is in a strip mall and it doesnt look too appetizing but then you walk inside and its a large space with a bulls head on the wall greeting you. Our party got sat within 10 minutes despite it being a busy night and the food was delicious. My favorite was the mixed fajita which was chicken and beef with fajita veggies. The service was great and the margaritas were also tasty.
This message is for the owner, listen up closely, you need to address all your reviews, not just the 5 star ratings. Have you reached out to your other customers that have valid concerns or complaints? The food is normally 5 stars, but last visit was a 3 star because my fajitas had alot of liquid on the plate and was not served in a sizzling Skillet as they usually are. Also, social Distancing needs to be better, after I was seated, the staff seated a large group of people close to my table, not cool!! I will give it 1 more try soon and see if things are better, if theyre not, I will have to take El Palenque off the favorites list.
El Palenque is one of the best Mexican restaurants Ive been to. The portions, good lord the portions! They should include a to go container with every order, because Ive always taken food with me when I eat there. The service is great & welcoming. The alcohol is very tasty & strong. Its just a great place to have a great meal & enjoy no matter the occasion.

Best Mexican ever. Out for a drive and found this place from reviews. It was every bit as good as the other reviewers said. Great signature margarita. Molejate is fantastic. Well seasoned meats and shrimp. Fresh chips. Delicious salsa, guacamole and bean dip. Some of the best rice Ive ever had. Friend had the lobster chimichanga and said how flavorful it was and how much shrimp was in it. Nice atmosphere. Handled covid-19 management well. Professional and efficient service. Well definitely be back.
Absolutely no social distancing going on here. Even with a sign on the exterior windows to mind the 6 foot rule. Every table was full and bar was packed, even 2 deep at times. Ordered “curbside pickup” as shown in their google listing. When I got there, they didn’t even know what that was. Had to wait on my food inside. Although the food was good as usual, it is not worth the risk to go back. Have eaten there many times in the past.
Finding a good Mexican themed restaurant is nearly impossible.... UNTIL now. Great menu (they could use a little wipe down) and lots of options. The Mexican pizza was filling and very good. The lobster chimichanga was also very good. I will definitely be back!

The food and service were excellent. Im glad its close to home bc ill be a repeat customer. The first time I has the Burrito Azteca not only is it huge its filled with steak chicken and shrimp. Last time I had the seafood fajitas which were cooked to perfection. You also have to try the queso dip with the chorizo.
Food was very good, served extremely hot, plated well. All the servers were on the ball to make our party of four feel comfortable. Advice: Get there before 5 pm. They fill up quickly.
We have eaten dinner here at least 50 60 times over the years. It is our absolute go-to for Mexican food. Out of all those times weve been there weve yet to have a bad meal. Always top notch

1 of a couple favorite places for our family. The food is authentic and delicious, you get your food FAST, the drinks are strong and still taste good. Better than cocos better than rodeo. When they found out we just got married (we go every week) they broke out high end tequila from the office and poured a round. They show us love, so we love them.
My favorite part of El Palenque are the chips and margaritas!!! The food is always fresh & served hot.

Went there with a friend yesterday (4/22) and ordered a chicken burrito but got a beef burrito. Informed the staff who didn’t offer to remake the burrito. Both my friend and I ordered two drinks on the patio. It was 2.99$ margarita day. Both of our drinks looked and tasted like water. After an hour of sitting out there, eating and drinking, the staff shut off the music outside and the manager came out. Apparently we outstayed our welcome. Went inside, paid, and the girl checking us out hit the play button on the music. Mediocre service, food, drinks, and not a great place to enjoy your drinks outside.
Love El Palenque! Great drinks that arent watered down. The free chips and salsa are delicious. The guac is pretty good as well. Great food choices that come out really fast! Anyone looking for a great atmosphere and good Mexican food need to look no further!
To say the least, our visit was overall an extremely delightful experience. The food was delivered quickly, and was delicious. You can easily tell that the food made here is fresh and authentic, even for my taste. Furthermore, the staff was friendly and attended to our every need. The food, after being stored at home, still had the same quality as the food we ate at the restaurant. Overall, a great place for Mexican cuisine with a delicious taste. Would certainly recommend for anyone seeking a tasty meal for the night.

Absolutely delicious food. The fajitas, tacos, enchiladas, chips n dips, beans, rice and of course margaritas were all to die for. I have not found a great authentic Mexican restaurant since I have been back to Cleveland for 3 yrs but have found my place. I will definitely be back for more. Service was great too. The patio also added to great experience. Love the atmosphere.

I ordered 6 chicken enchiladas. I got only 3, one was beef, one full of spinach, and one might have actually been a chicken enchilada. Very disappointed they also forgot the extra side of rice or claim they didnt hear me. ( the tamales are always on point tho even tho I didnt get any rice)
Me and my family were out east today in Lake County at the metroparks; and while in the area wanted to get some lunch. Typically were in the Avon area, Parma, mostly western suburbs and tend to search for local Mexican restaurants, decided to do the same today.Gotta say that El Palenque was one of the best weve had. Their menu was different and they offered 1/2 off dip, which is right up our alley. The dips were amazing, the food was amazing and the service matched. Goes without saying but, Ill say so anyways, theyll be where were eating while in lake county. 5stars
The service was good and the waiter came quick. The steak was ok. Not horrible not amazing. I think the steak could have been cooked just a tab bit longer. There were lots of vegetables with the steak. The soda was fresh and carbonated as well. The ambiance was ok. There wernt alot of people dining when I went which was around 3 o clock. It was an overall good experience.

Very impressed with this Mexican restaurant on my first trip. Dont let the stereotype of Vine Street strip malls deter you - the restaurant is spacious and very clean. Welcomed with a smile - and servers were plentiful and very attentive. The house salsa has just the right amount of kick. Chips are crispy and fresh. The fajitas portions are enormous - absolutely enough food for 3 meals - having very good flavor and amazing freshness. They didnt even twitch when I asked for mine without green peppers. I cannot wait to return again and again to try more of their entrees!
We had a 75th birthday party for my mom here, 25 people, and the service was outstanding. The food is excellent. The staff could not have been better. I really recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
I go here probably twice a month. Service, even on a busy night, is fast. Good portion sizes and lots of your typical Mexican restaurant offerings. Recently tried the tableside guacamole and destroyed it in minutes. The cucumber margarita is my favorite. Definitely worth checking out.
When my fiance and I first moved to the area we tried 4-5 local Mexican restaurants to find the best. This was it and we havent gone anywhere else since. Great service, food, and drinks. Amazing fish tacos too! Highly recommend this place!
Enjoyed lunches and dinners here with friends several times. Asked for Salsa Verde, green sauce instead of regular red. This time waitress wasnt easily found. Needed water and had to flag another server for it.When received bill, was charged for the green salsa. It would be nice to mention they started charging for it instead of arguing at table back and forth. I dont have a problem paying extra this time but its the principal of not saying anything at the time it was ordered, and worse yet, the attitude from the waitress was a turn off.
Food is VERY good and well priced. The employees here do a superb job with everything. One of my all time favorite places to go.

Not too bad. Good food. Pitchers of slushy margaritas seemed to turn people off....thats why you order it on rocks...water with no ice and a 🍋 had ice and no lemon.. Party atmosphere, loud and cheerful.
Food is amazing, service not so much. The pack everything in paper bags and the food spills into the bottom. The bottom becomes soaked and rips. Our food went all over the ground taking it out of the car. It was a huge mess in our driveway. I called and they said they would only replace 1 of the 3 meals. What were we to do eat the food off the ground. Clearly not our fault but would do nothing. The service sucked!!!!

Great service. Had 4 or 5 different members of their staff wait on me. I ordered the lunch fajitas. Good portion and quality. Not that it mattered to me but the place is huge. Would be ideal for large parties.
The truth is that the prices are very fair, the restaurant and service are great... its just that the food was very bland. It is hard for me to do this, but there was no spice or flavor to our food. It is still worth a visit, as you might find things here you like and the experience is very pleasant.

My work colleagues and I come here for lunch on Mondays for $.99 Taco Monday. Not only are they really good, but the restaurant gets them out to us in a hurry. We are in and out of there within a half an hour, and there are typically at least 6 of us. Getting a fast lunch is essential for us working folk! Free chips and salsa are also provided, and their salsa is quite good. Most of us put it on our tacos!
Great experience! We love the atmosphere, the big roomy booths, many big screen tvs, the friendly wait staff, the BIG corn chips and BIG bowl of salsa! Our plate presentation was picture perfect as well. Tasty food. Salsa was just mild though not hot at all.

Giving a 1... doordash was great... so I got my food quick... would be happier with better food service !!!... didnt get the daily special price as on the website... cost me an extra $13... didnt receive one of the items... didnt read note for just chicken & cheese on 3 tacos... they were loaded mosty with lettace and the lids were all popping off so food spilled all over !!!Yes I called... asked if I wanted to come pick it up... if I had a car I would have but couldnt... thats why I paid for doordash. They took my number and said the manager would call me back... never did... I spent a large dollar amount... but it wont happen again... you lost a customer !!!... I NEVER write reviews

Enjoyed a lunch. Excellent selection to choose from, food was delicious, prices very reasonable, portions are generous. We were served quickly and staff was responsive. The only things that held me back from giving 5 stars was the lighting wasnt very good and the decor and tables looked very dated and could use replacement.

We just finished our second visit and the experience was superb! We highly recommend this restaurant for its authenticity- especially the tamale appetizer! It appears the chips are made in house and the salsa is wonderful. For a strip mall Mexican restaurant, we were incredibly impressed! Be sure to check groupon before your visit.
Really good food. The vegetarian super burrito was HUGE! I like that they served unsalted chips with their salsa. We had a small issue with one plate which the waiter addressed, we will return again.

I will rate it a 5 because they are fast, the food is delicious and prices are good. I will say if you are a vegan/vegetarian.. cross contamination is a problem here. I have gotten the vegetarian fajitas and more than once found little pieces or chicken or steak in it.
Food was OK, portions were small,we were not advised about the drink specials and upon adding up the bill there was almost a five dollar difference, which I still gave nineteen percent gratuity.

2022-04-12This is my first time at this location. I think the food prices were on par with a restaurant of this caliber. The food itself was good and well presented. The restaurant was clean. The only reason I did not give this restaurant a 5-star rating is because the person serving us did not understand English. We had to call someone else over in order to make sure our food was ordered properly. Dont get me wrong, I have no problem with anyone who is not American or who does not speak English. I just think that in the situation where you are serving the public you should make sure that your staff can communicate well. I would recommend going to this place if you want some real Mexican food.

Food is delicious, service is fantastic, and the margaritas are top notch. When they opened a second location in Brooklyn, my husband made sure to recommend it to all of his coworkers. 2022-06-26Visited El Palanque for the first time on an early Tuesday evening. I only ever order fajitas at Mexican restaurants and was pleasantly surprised to see that their steak and chicken fajitas were a special that evening. My meal came and it was dried out looking and tasting chicken and steak with a few slices of onion and green pepper which I thought was how their version is presented. I was almost done eating when several people near me were served fajitas that came hot, smoking, sizzling and smelled wonderful. I asked my dining partner if my food looked like that when it came out and she said absolutely not. I asked our server why my meal looked so blah compared to others and he said because it was a special they get slammed so they need to prepare the meat and veggies ahead of time. Mine obviously sat around for quite a long time before being served to me and then they cooked fresh to order when the precooked meat ran out. I felt very cheated. Server also charged me the regular price instead of the special price...I had the error corrected. When I cashed out, I mentioned my meal presentation to the cashier who really could have cared less. Then she charged me for two meals instead of one. After getting very snippy with me when I brought that to her attention, she decided not to charge me for my meal but she was not happy about it. Wont be going back there again.

I had the street tacos (the spicy salsa on the side is really spicy!), Others in my group had an assortment of other things, all said theirs was excellent as well. Salsa and chips are outstanding as well and they kept us well stocked with both. Will be back, and highly recommend.

2022-04-19We frequent this place for lunch breaks quite often. The atmosphere is nice, the staff is amazing and the food always comes out quick. The always seem to have great specials and though I am always on break from lunch and have never tried the margaritas, they looks amazing. The food is delicious, its not the best Mexican food I have ever had, but it really is good. All in all I would highly recommend grabbing a bite to eat and checking this place out.
