My wife and I have continuously come back to Ed Tomko over the last 8 years to lease our vehicles. The staff, Greg, Al, and especially Jerrol Walker have been absolutely exceptional! When there, the entire staff is friendly and treats you like friends and family. The car selection and knowledge of models are unmatched of any other dealers. If I could give more that 5 stars I would. Highly recommend!!!
Jerrol Walker was the salesman who helped me pick out my vehicle. The experience was fantastic and the service was outstanding. They were able to get me exactly what I asked for at the price I asked for. Super fast, did not take more than 2 hours for the whole process to be complete and I am blown away by this dealership. Definitely will be returning and recommending them to people in the market for a car! I love my new Jeep :)
I bought a 2021 Jeep Renegade this year. Had to search around because alot of lots didnt have any, including Tomko. One of the selling points was the 3 free oil change/tire rotations at any jeep dealer. I was happy with that knowing I had Tomko at the end of my street. I called 2 weeks ago to schedule my oil change and was told they were booked into December and were not taking any appointments, and to call back in 2 weeks and they would schedule me then. Fine, no problem. I call back in 2 weeks and was told that they are now booked through January and to again call back in 2 weeks. I said Ive already done that and asked if I could please schedule for January before they got any further backed up. I was put on hold and then the service manager, Im assuming, picked up and before I could say anything proceeded to bite my head off about how busy they are and that hes not taking responsibility scheduling out that far. I asked how Im supposed t make an appointment then, which really set him off. I explained I was not trying to be difficult, just wanted to schedule. He then asked where I bought my car, I told him N .Olmsted. He questioned me why I would go there if they were down the street. I explained that they didnt have any Renegades and I had no choice. He stated he saves his slots for the people that spend their hard money at his lot an that maybe I should just go back to where I bought it from. Keep in mind he had no idea where I bought my car until just then. He said I was not happy because I wasnt getting my way. Again explained that all I want is to make a service appointment. He said Have you ever heard of this? I asked heard of what...and he hung up on me. I have never in my life been treated or talked to so rudely by any business, ever!!! It was very disappointing to me because I grew up in Avon Lake, they have been there all my life, my parents bought cars from them and I assumed they were a reputable company. Very sad that as a staple business in Avon Lake for that long that they treat people this way. I called back after that and left a voicemail for Paul Tomko but got no response. Shout out to N. Olmsted CJDR for scheduling me with in a week of me calling today...anybody need great friendly service I suggest you go to them and not Tomko!!! And to the gentleman in the service department...Karma will get ya sooner or later. I can see by the other reviews here I am not the 1st to be treated this way. I will gladly take my business elsewhere.
I just googled Ed Tomko to write a review and can not believe that they only have a 3.9 rating. Of course I had to go through the one stars and am astonished. I myself live in walking distance to another Jeep Dodge dealership and drive a half an hour away to go to Ed Tomko when I am purchasing. In the past 4 years I have had 5 star treatment from every single sales, finance and owner I have come in contact with. Yesterday was beyond 5 star. Without going into too many details, we made an appointment for 430, we knew it would be quick and fast, which is was. We signed papers and were out the door by 545. 30 minutes later and 15 minutes after the dealership closed we encountered a problem. I emailed Ed Tomko with the thought that they would receive it when they opened at 830am today. These people emailed me back, then called me after all close to 8pm. They had a solution for my problem, asked me to come in at 845am so that they could get it taken care of for me. When we arrived they had everything ready for us and problem was solved.I am so appreciative of them going the extra mile after hours. In a world where most business are closing early and short staffed, it is refreshing to know that Ed Tomko is still in the PEOPLE business! Family owned is the way to go! Jerrol Walker you have my word of mouth referrals for life!
This place stinks, the service department specifically. I had to go 4 times to purchase a key fob and get it programmed, they never tested it soy doors did not lock, and on the 4th time after sitting there an hour, they said it might be a problem inside my door, but me we checked the fob or the door any of the other hours and hours I was there. The male manager threatened to take his employees paycheck because they left something in my car, which I thought was unprofessional and something I, as a customer, did not want to here. The saving grace of that place is the sweet girl that works with the customers that are upset about the service department, she was very nice and very part withy complaint, but still didnt offer me any help with it...
Had a great experience with the salesman, Mike A, the Finance Manager, and also an owner who was involved in the background of our deal. We were in and out with a new lease at a very fair price, within about 45 minutes total. They were very helpful throughout the quick process, great follow-up, and mindful of our limited time - needed to be in and out. I would recommend them, and plan to return for service on another Jeep we own, along with using them for future leases. Thanks, Mike A!A.M. of AL
I have a Jeep that was in an accident and this place refused to let me have the MINOR work done through them. They said my Jeep was way too old and likely needed to be totaled out. I was verbatim told by the body shop we only work on cars from the last 3 or so years. I immediately hung up and called the next closest Jeep dealership (N. Olmested) who got me set up and even took over dealing with the insurance company within a half hour of talking to them. The guy at N. Olmested literally laughed when I told them what Ed Tomko said and said they simply didnt want to work on my vehicle. So I guess if you have a vehicle thats older than 2019 and it needs work DO NOT CALL HERE, its too old for them to deal with.
Beware for your own good. Salesman Nick sold my wife and I each a new jeep L and in the process of the deal promised us each a shade for the back. well 2 months later we still do not have the shades and today I stopped up and asked him about it He stated sure should be in parts department for your pick up but, he had to run out for family thing lol so we walked over to parts and they had no idea about them He ( Nick) never even ordered them. and now they tell me they are not ordering them unless I want to pay $300+ for them. You know the old saying folks if it isnt in writing it didnt happen. When we bought the new jeeps we thought for sure we found a new dealer we could go to every 2 years or so for new cars but, now after this incident well, we will surely go else where.
Worst car dealer I have ever visited in my life complete scammers tried to charge me over market value for a car when they were not suppose to be doing that too many lies too many excuses I am also reporting the dealership to corporate for the unbelievable bad bussiness practices not honest people at all don’t buy any cars there unless you like being upside down in your cars equity I cannot believe the level of scamming
Don’t waste your money or time here. Ed Tomko is misogynistic and rude. Told me he didn’t need my service because I took my car there to be repaired as I’m under warranty. Said he could charge what he wanted for his parts. Also told a friend of mine she would “come crawling back to him when she couldn’t find a better deal than him” shocker, she did. This guy doesn’t care about anything other than money and I promise it isn’t worth your time to go there.
Just received my 2020 Gladiator from the Ed Tomko dealership. Every part of the purchase was smooth and painless. I felt like I was treated fairly, and I got a great price. Jerrol Walker, from the sales department, and all the other folks who assisted with the process were awesome—polite and relaxed. This was the easiest, and most pleasant car buying experience I’ve ever had. I would recommend the dealership to any friends or family looking for a Jeep, Chrysler, or Dodge product.
The manager,Mike salesman, and Charlie service Mgr. Were so kind, wonderful and treated my aunt Olga and I like a true family member. My uncle Boris,Bobo and Olga have bought cars and referred clients for 35 years here. Always treated kindly, professional and like family. Unfortunately we were their because my sweet uncle Bobo passed away suddenly and never could drive his new vehicle. I was with my aunt as shes 90. I live out of state and was shocked at how sincere and warm they were to her even going to his service..who does that these days?! Truly warmed my heart during this sad time to know good people and business do exist. Wanted to share. Sincerely, Nancy
Worse dealership ever!! I had an appointment schedule with Mike Ferguson, and he was super short, and spent all of 5 minutes with me. He wouldn’t even go to the lot or the show room floor to show me any cars! I was told to come back on Monday when they reopened (mind you I was there on a Saturday), for them to run me through the bank. Mike tried telling me the bank was closed on a Saturday. He also was rude to me because my husband works at a dealership, he was like “why are you here if your husband work somewhere else”. Honestly the worse experience I’ve ever had, I would never recommend anyone here!
Let me preface this review by saying my father is in the business and I understand how car dealerships work, especially leasing a vehicle. I called to turn in a lease that wasnt purchased from this dealer because I now live a block away, so this was the best and closest place for me to do so. They would only take it if I was going to lease or buy from them. I understand its 10 minutes of work that they arent making anything on, but this will ensure I go elsewhere for any future purchases. I ended up having to drive 45 minutes away for something I could walked home from.
TLDR - Their service department is shady. They used sub-par non-OEM parts without permission causing us need to go back multiple times. Im giving 2 starts because they did eventually own up to it, and covered the labor to reinstall the breaks, but we were on the hook for more money on the parts than they quoted us. I wont go back.I think I might just hate care dealers all together, that system is just broken. We bought our jeep here a few years back and recently took it in for service to replace the breaks. Everything went fine for a few weeks, then the new breaks started squeaking. They told us it was just oil on the pads and rotors so they cleaned them off. After that happening three times they did replace them, only for the same problem to happen again about a month later. We did some digging and it turns out they used non-OEM parts without informing us. They claimed it was to save us money, but never said anything about using lower quality aftermarket parts. We went to the dealer for service because Ive had issues with aftermarket parts being very poor quality in the past. Yes its more expensive to use the dealer for service, but I expect that they would use the actual manufacturers part, or at least inform us on which parts were getting. That assumption is especially important with car parts, they are all but impossible to verify which parts were installed without physically seeing them come out of the box. You need to trust your mechanic.Im guessing their profit margin is higher on the aftermarket parts and they can advertise that their break services are slightly less expensive. Its just a super shady practice. I would never had known they installed those parts had we not had the issues we had. I would have assumed they were OEM and justified the price we paid.Im giving 2 starts because they werent complete jerks about it. They could have just said, well thats what you got and youll have to pay the labor and parts again for the new parts. They only charged the parts difference to replace with the OEM, but I just dont trust them any more. I wont go back.
Con artists and liars - family run business that acts like they care about you right up until you sign the paperwork. Then they wont help you with anything and will try to make you pay for everything that should be covered under the 36,000 bumper to bumper warranty. Do yourself a favor - buy somewhere else.
Tom and the Sales Management staff worked hard to get us the right vehicle at the right price. The finance handoff was super easy. Of all the dealerships Ive been to, this was the time I most felt like they were genuinely trying to get the best deal for me. Will return when its time for my Ram!
My Mazda was recently repaired after it was involved in a collision. I had major damage to the front of the vehicle. The service department did a great job repairing my car. Bob always kept me up to date about the repairs and I appreciated the emails. I am so pleased that they were able to make my car look new again. The paint job was also phenomenal. I would definitely recommend Ed Tomkos Body and Repair Shop. Victoria Mayo RN
I had a great experience at Ed Tomko Chrysler Jeep Dodge. I worked with Jerrol and he found the exact car I wanted in tip-top shape at a fair price with excellent customer service and attention-to-detail. I highly recommend this dealership. Go there and ask for Jerrol, you will not be disappointed!!
Dealer refused to honor Jeep Wave benefits for oil change and tire rotation on vehicle with under 3k miles that is enrolled for 2yrs / 4 oil changes and rotations because it was not purchased from their dealership. Service manager “John” refused to give me his last name or business card and threatened to call the police if I didn’t leave immediately. Paul Tomko backed this decision as well when I calmly went in to speak with someone else. They asked why they should lose money on someone that didn’t buy a vehicle from them. The Jeep Wave program that I am enrolled in clearly states that these services can be done at any dealership. Won’t consider going back but am disappointed that a dealer right around the corner from my home will go out of their way to turn people away.
My husband and I both had wonderful experiences at Ed Tomko and we have become customers for life! After a horrible experience at another local dealer, I went to Ed Tomko on recommendation from multiple friends & colleagues. From start to finish, I was treated with respect in a low pressure environment (which was a shock since car sales are often the opposite) & they gave me an excellent price while being open and honest about everything. It was so easy that I actually made a deal to get my husband a new truck that same day! Everyone was respectful, friendly and low key and it paid off for them, getting 2 sales from us in one day! From start to finish I would recommend Mike Ferguson and everyone we worked with at this dealership.
They refuse to honor the Jeep Wave program unless you purchase from them. Jeep Wave offers a limited amount of free oil changes and tire rotations, good at ANY dealership regardless of where you bought your new Jeep from. Service manager absolutely refused to honor the program, and when confronted about the obvious disregard for an FCA program he threatened to call the cops. Tried to get his name and he refused. Spoke with the general manager who had the same attitude. This dealership is shady. Will 100% be contacting FCA about this along with the BBB.
Purchasing a new car at Ed Tomko was a very comfortable and easy process, and I would highly recommend this dealer to any individual looking to buy a new or used car. I worked with Mike Ferguson when buying my new truck, and he was extremely patient, answered all questions, helped me find what was best for my own personal needs and interests, and ensured I would get the best deal possible. Oftentimes I hear car buying isnt an enjoyable process, but Mike made it a very positive experience, and I will be sure to buy from him in the future. This dealer was the best, most respectful, and most flexible dealer I visited with. They did not bother me with calls or hide any hidden costs. Mike provided very specific insight on the trucks and provided me straight up information. He was a pleasure to with with, as well as Alan in the finance department. If I was able, I would give this dealership 6 stars. Thank you for all your help!
I wish I could give less than one star. I was mislead and absolutely ripped off. The salesman Jerrell Walker reset the check engine light before my test drive hiding the issues with the car. Less than 2 months later the car up and died wouldnt start. Toyota gave me a bill for more than $4000 to repair everything. I saved for 2 years since I was 15 to buy my first car and now am out $3000. Absolutely untrustworthy and down right criminal business.
To add to my story today we took the car out on an errand and while we were out it died and is now sitting in an auto zone parking lot. This is after paying 4200 for new engine and the second engine didnt work right so they put a third and now it is sitting in a bad neighborhood till they open after the holiday. This really sucks we were sold a lemon. I am notifying the better business bureau and possibly channel 8 for an investigation. We purchased a used car that was recommended by the sales person and in four months the head light had to be replaced the blower stopped working on one side and then the engine blew. Needless to say they are not responsible. I originally was looking at cars that were lower cost but the sales person said about this car so I increased what I was willing to pay from $2500 to $6000. Now we had to decide scrap it and pay the 6000 off or pay 4000 for a used engine. We chose purchase the engine from them. Our first used van was a good choice but we paid 20000. Buyer beware have a mechanic check out used cars before buying. I am very disappointed with this purchase and our next purchase of our new van down the road will be elsewhere.
Very friendly and professional. I brought my car to the body shop for repairs and Dave is knowledgeable, considerate and helpful. Ive never been in a car accident before and he has really been a great source of information and really helped me navigate through the process regarding my vehicle and Im very grateful. I highly recommend them.
My husband and I recently purchased a car through Ed Tomko that was not a Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep. We had a great experience with Jarrol, however thats where our positive experience ended. Within 30 days I had driven over a nail, a quick patch repair for the service department. They would not cover the cost. Now we are less than two months out and I have discovered that they did not service the car in any way. No oil change, no nothing, and here I am back at the dealer to have my brand new to me car serviced for the second time since purchasing the vehicle. I wish they had been more transparent about how little they were willing to cover. This has been most disappointing and I will not recommend this dealer in the future.
I recently purchased my 2019 Jeep Compass here with the help of Jerry. I was blown away by the service that I received. As a young woman, it’s very intimidating walking into a car dealership and knowing that someone may take advantage of your lack of knowledge of vechicles. This was not the case with Jerry. He kept me within my price range and did not try to push me towards anything that would break my budget. This made the entire experience really easy and laid back (unlike the other dealerships I’ve been to in the past). In addition to this, the gentleman that helped me in their finance department (Al) made what could have been a very long, boring process quick and efficient. He had me signed and driving off in my car in about 5-10 minutes. I highly recommend stopping here to anyone, and will definitely be back. Ask for Jerry!!
Just had a really poor experience with Tomko! Took the jeep into this dealership because i got a referral from a friend. He did however say that I might not be treated greatly, for his wife has had a different experience then he has had. But I do not have a relationship with a dealer so I was hoping i could establish one. I love my jeeps but buy from down south. Took in for service yesterdayWaited all day to hear back. At 4 finally. Not able to finish work until this morning. Work being done by Tomko was contingent on them being done by 10 for I had to work. Promised and they did The work. Asked for a price too. Gave a ball park. Seems odd, but moved forward. Called this morning still wanting price. Working on paper work still”Told them to call with price. NEVER DID. had to go get jeep to go to work. Wrote a check for the 1000.00. The service manager says to me” who uses checks anymore, use your debt card” NO! Clearly u accept checks it says so on glass in front of cashier. “He says they will call my bank cuz they don’t know me”. So ok. Call my bank. Not my issue anyhow with this guy. Its how he is speaking and acting towards me. 30 minutes goes by before they have this handled. And doing that time this arrogant service man who has a problem with me says. “Even if I posted it you can read? You tell me you would read” I had suggested he post that anything over 500.00 we will need to verify. He became more ignorant with every breath. “So again he says who uses checks anymore” .. to which i say still an accepted currency and your place says it does so why r you acting like I am not a worthy customer that deserves the same service as the other person That paid by check. Why r you discriminating? This is not ok at any level-the way he talked to me!!! I will continue to push this matter to corporate so maybe he will decide to hide his ugliness. However, if I were anyone thinking about buying or having service provided, why take a chance. There are other dealerships. Hi.
Walked into Ed Tomko looking for a truck. Great place. Ran into Jerrol Walker ,sold me a jeep 3 years Ago, told Jerrol I wanted a white 4+4 truck bighorn. Bottom line great place an friendly people. See you in a couple of years Jerrol walker for another truck. Love my Dodge trucks.
When I walked into Ed Tomko Jeep, I was fully expecting to be hit with a hard sales pitch and the run-around, like I have seen so many times before when purchasing cars. JWalker, who my wife had talked to the night before came over to me and introduced himself. I pointed out the car I wanted to see, and he told me he already had key.. He must have talked to the salesman who greeted me. This was at 8:30am. He ran and got a plate, took my licence and I want on a little ride. When I got back, I told him I though my wife would like it and we would be coming back later that evening for her to see it. I talked to him for a few, and I explained another jeep I was looking at at another dealer. I feel that I told him we would be driving one of the two home tonight, and if he gave us a fair and honest deal, it would most likely be the one on his lot. When we got back to the dealer at 5:30 that evening, my wife drove it and absolutely fell in love the Grand Cherokee Upland we had driven - I have to admit, so did I. When we sat down with JWalker, We were able to come to a no pressure deal which was much better then the offer we had from the other dealership for a much nicer Jeep. Without 10 trips back and forth to the sales manager! Hats of to Ed Tomko Jeep and J. Walker! You guys made US happy jeep owners at an absolutely amazing price. 5 Stars!
This is our 4 purchase at Ed Tomko! We are very happy. We ALWAYS work with salesman Jerrold Walker . He is awesome and i recommend him to everyone. Also we love the dealership. We have all auto service there. Its a bit of a drive from Grafton to Avon Lake... but well worth it!
My wife and I just recently purchased a brand new 2016 Dodge Caravan. Our customer service experience with Jerrol Walker was great. He was a down to earth guy that was honest and willing to do anything within his power to make us happy. He gave us a fair trade price and got us the features and color we wanted all within our budget. Very happy with our experience.
I had a great salesman and Mr. Walker when I got there he had the truck ready for me for a test drive while he attend to other customer know That was schedule ahead of me. There was another young salesman welcome me and asked me what I was waiting for and he sent me straight to the truck that was waiting for me and gave me the keys for the test drive. I was very please with the Hospitality I was in and out within an hour with financing test in the car and shaking their hands. Thank you again Mr. Walker he did a good job
I purchased a Jeep Cherokee From Ed Tomko dealership on the first of the month, the day after the big day of sales. However, Jerrol literally did his best to get me the best deal possible. He got my price to hit my price point, worked with financing to help jump over hurdles that we still faced from my accident the week before, and kept the dealership open late. The dealership cleaned out the car, filled the gas for free, and sent me on my way 45 minutes later than they were supposed to close. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful, and well worth the hour plus drive from my hometown to Avon Lake. I would recommend Jerrol and the dealership for all your Jeep needs.
Sales and Service took excellent care of my wife and son today, as always. We have been a customer of Tomko Dealership for a very long time and would never go anywhere else. Dave Tomko, the Service Manager, is the best and always delivers on what he promises. We look forward to purchasing our next Jeep at Tomkos for our daughter this fall!
I had a great experience here. I had been looking to get a new vehicle since my 2002 Suzuki was starting to fall apart. My husband and I had looked at a Chevy dealership for an Equinox, but could not find one to suit our budget. I decided to look for a Dodge Journey, so we checked Ed Tomko. I did not like the Journey, but I fell in love with the Jeep Patriot, and was able to make a great deal and leave the same day with a brand new 2014 Patriot. Our salesman was not pushy and was very happy to work with us to make this car happen. I was very happy with this business, and will definitely go back when I need a new vehicle.
This place is growing and remains in business for a reason - they are honest and easy to work with... and smart! Jerrol in sales has a great reputation there and was very helpful and professional in his approach (despite the fact that he first met my wife and I as we were driving a FORD test drive from a competitor down the road- right through his lot - lol!) He likes Jeep of course, but was helpful finding us a used car as well (it wasnt Jeep/Chrysler!). While we are still in our 30 day period, Im confident we found a great ride and the dealer will take care of us in the future. Best advice: Dont bother with the auto mile games; pick out a quality dealer that has quality service and integrity!
If I could rate 0 I would. My sister came home crying because Anthony an employee of Ed tomko treated her absolutely disgraceful. She went in to look at jeeps forba possible trade in and the first thing he asked her was whose name is this car in. Way to start off a sale. Then, proceeded to insult her by asking if she even had a liscense and how many RENT payments she has missed! She owns her home and where does any saleaman get the right to ask those questions...to make matters even better She has a friends badge of a police cheif where he then proceeded To ask her how she has a friend that is a cop. She asked for her liscense back and left. She was shaking when she came home. To have someone so Deplorable in degrading work for a company is a travesty I would definitely think twice about who you hire and may be screen the people working for you. Think twice on your major purchase of a new vehicle, the service shows the guaruntee of the life of the car.
I came in to look at vehicles since my lease with Ford was almost up. I met Jerrol and was blown away by how nice and honest he was!! He made the whole process easy and enjoyable and I could not be happier with the Jeep Compass I ended up leasing! I highly recommend Jerrol and Ed Tomko to anyone looking to get a vehicle!
They were extremely accommodating to my needs! Also very efficient, honest, and do what they can to help. I got two new Jeeps at my price point. Now I have the peace of mind that my daughter and I have vehicles that handle great in the snow and bad weather.I definitely recommend Jerrol Walker for your car needs!
I have always had a great experience looking for vehicles here! Thankful for the great hardworking workers here! I know a few workers here, one is a mechanic! They do a great job for sure! Special thanks to Jerrol R. Walker for the help with purchasing my used car! I’ll definitely be back for the next vehicle purchase hopefully a Jeep! Thanks Again!
I want to thank ALL of the staff for thier kindness yesterday, July 2nd towards my Mom and I. You are all gifts from God. Im so impressed by all of you. Mike, you made this entire deal happen. I am forever grateful. If I would have gone to this dealer sooner, my situation would have never happened.Thankyou again a million times for EVERYTHING!! I will never go anywhere else.
I just purchased my third vehicle from Mike Ferguspon at Ed Tomko and cant imagine going anywhere else. I contacted salesman Mike via email and arranged an appointment to get my trade in appraised and to test drive a Jeep Wrangler. Mike gave me the keys for the test drive and away I went. Buying a car from Mike at Ed Tomko is an easy experience. Negotiations are up front and low pressure. The time with the finance guy (sorry I forgot your name) was also low pressure, with little time wasted on trying to up sell services. Previous cars needed service and the service department was also great.
My wife and I went there to look at vans. The sales person who was about 20 was very cocky for his age. We test drove a 2013 Dodge Caravan and liked it. As we were walking through the lot I noticed another Caravan that was a 2013. It had rust pitting through and you could tell they just painted over it. I told the car salesman we wanted to think about it before we purchased the van and he became very rude. I was seriously considering purchasing the van but after that incident there was no way I would buy anything from this dealership. After reading some of these reviews I would say they need to work on their customer etiquette.
My wife and I spotted a car we were interested in driving by the dealership a few times so I finally decided to poke my head in and take a look. They were a half hour from closing when I arrived and Jerrol Walker without even hesitating just gave me the keys to the car and let me take it for a quick spin by myself.I called him on short notice the next day and he made the time to hammer out a deal with me. We didnt come to terms initially but he was very engaging the whole time and understanding of my circumstances.I walked away from that meeting knowing I already had a great deal in place and when Jerrol followed up with me later we ended up agreeing to terms over the phone.Jerrol is a first class salesman. Hes very honest and personable and has the unique ability to move a deal forward without being pushy. He made it clear what he could do and what he could not do for me and we shared a few laughs along the way. Bottom line, I walked away with a great car on a great deal with an individual who went out of his way to ensure the customer was satisfied. The only thing keeping me from giving a full five stars is that I did not get the impression the finance guy gave much effort into finding me the best interest rate available and I felt slightly rushed by him to get out the door. He was not as personable and had somewhat of a take it or leave it approach to that portion of the transaction. That said, I still went through with the deal and walked away very pleased with this dealership!
Just purchased a new Jeep from Anthony Crawford. Being a cut to the chase and well researched buyer I knew what I was in to get and get out. Anthony acknowledged this right away with a value package, outstanding service while only spending 90 minutes from start to finish. Kudos to Anthony! Straight off the showroom no hassles and great follow up. Car buying and owning is a pleasure with Ed Tomko!
Took my 83 year old grandmother there to get her 12 Crysler 300 serviced. Mind you, when she bought the car she paid all cash upfront. Also the same part giving her issues was just serviced 2 WEEKS AGO! Without a diagnostic we were told that theres no way that one issue could have anything to do with the other, even though its all in the module. All of this wouldnt have been so bad if they hadnt tried to charge a daily rental fee for a valued elderly customer! Especially not knowing if they were at fault for the issue. On our way to Chevy dealership where we know the customer service is great.
The salesman was completely rude and disrespectful. I told him what i was looking for and wanted to test drive the car. I was told Im not allowed to test drive until I am signing the papers to purchase/lease . I clearly was not taken seriously as a buyer. Will not be going back. Jokes on them. Went and bought a Challenger R/T from North Olmstead Dodge I recommend giving them your time/ money over this scam center.
Just got a $16,500 SUV 5 months ago from Ed TomkoMy seller was Mike Furguson, there was a accident report on my vehicles car fax. I was told my vehicle struck a pole on the driver side damage was minimal all fixed it looked good. I learned TWO things today .. Never trust a salesmans words. I contacted the person who owed the vehicle before me , she said she was going down the highway and a wheel flew off some truck and went through her windshield ! The second thing I learned was even though their sales card says good service doesnt stop once you leave the lot .. It did. I contacted them to let them know my vehicle is a wet swamp inside... Floor boards in car front & back are all wet when it rains . Starting to smell . I then told him I contacted the previous owner and knew the windshield had been replaced and it didnt just strike a pole , my vehicle is still under warranty HOWEVER will not cover water damage issues. Gm wants 100.00 just to find the leak (not fix it also) Ed Tomko wont help with the issue. Very upset to buy my first time from here, and literally left dead in the water flooding in from my SuV. Thank U for the water logged purchase of my new SUV. GREAT DOING BUSINESS WITH YOU . >:(
Coming from years of owning buicks, I was disappointed they didnt even wash my Jeep after it came in for 2 recalls. They found something else wrong with my car that was covered by extended warranty and fixed that promptly.EDIT* Took my car back for squeaking brakes, headlight replacement, and funny noise while shifting and turning. The estimate was outrageous. So I decided to get a second opinion. They charged $110 for a diagnosis and $55 for a brake inspection, which anywhere else would be free. Someone came to talk to us about the charges and said he told us about the $55 brake inspection but we wrote down everything when he told us the estimate and are positive he didnt mention the extra fee. Needless to say he was rude, and we will never be back.
This was my first time dealing with Jerrol. He let me test drive two Jeeps without accompanying me. I could relax and drive with my family without trying to be sold an SUV. I ended up liking the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Jerrol was very knowledgeable and worked with me to get a good value for my trade in along with getting a good price on my Jeep. He answered all my questions and was extremely easy to work with. Their staff even unloaded my belongings from my other SUV and put them in my new Grand Cherokee. This was great since I have a little one who I couldn’t leave unattended. I would recommend Jerrol if you are interested in a Jeep or another vehicle they sell.
Very professional, and kind. Owner is willing to always work with you to get u into a payment you can afford, even if he takes a loss. Which is not to common at car dealerships. This is our second car we purchased from them. Very comfortable environment. Purchased a 2018 Jeep Compass.
Stay FAR FAR AWAY from this dealership! I have never in my life been treated the way I was here. Jerrol was the ONLY nice person I interacted with here. Mike is probably one of the worst salesman Ive ever encountered. The first woman Cindy who was far from a pleasure to work with, finally got fired.I had my eyes on 2 different vehicles at this dealership. A close friend of mine in the sales industry kept telling me to give this place a try. It was convenient for me as its right down the road from my house. I went multiple times interested in different options. The last time I went I was actually told that I could not test drive a vehicle!!!!!!!!! Seriously. I couldnt lie about this. I was legitimately told dont shoot the messenger... you cant test drive that car. They came up with some whacked out excuse that because I was trying to get them to take my car that they didnt want to do business with me. I even offered keeping my car and figuring it out on my own but was STILL denied a test drive!!!!!I have told everyone Ive encountered about this experience and it leaves everyone speechless or completely upset and wanting to go to the dealership to tell them off.I am a 27 year old female with a great job and was laughed at by these guys. I even own my own house that I bought at 25 and I was turned down by these guys!Moral of my story here, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!! Jerrol was great, and Im sorry he had to be the messenger when it came to trying to test drive. His customer service is top notch and needs to be working at a different dealership where they dont turn sales away.
Our experience at Ed Tomko was amazing! We had a vehicle that wasnt working for our family and they were able to help us get what we need! Jerrol went above and beyond to make everything work for us, and we couldnt be happier! They were fair, honest and got right to the point! This definitely saved a ton of time and is not something you normally see anymore! We will definitely be back next time we need a vehicle and will recommend them to everyone! Overall a wonderful experience! Thank you Jerrol and everyone at Ed Tomko!
Service department diagnosed a noise as a control arm starting to wear. I deferred service due to cost and lack of urgency. But they have been servicing my two Jeeps and a Dodge for three years - they would have done the work eventually. But then they charged me $100 merely for the diagnosis! For that ripoff, they wont be servicing my cars any longer. Good riddance. This place always is available to work on short notice and theres never any traffic in the service department - that should have been a warning.
Note when getting work done the estimate means nothing here. Coming directly from the estimators mouth it is just an estimate. They estimate as little as they can and go up from there. Our price continued to go up daily from what they originally told us it would be. I picked up my car not knowing what I was going to have to pay because it changed so many times. We choose a dealership to do the repairs because I thought they would know best what to do. They told us we should have brought other quotes in. The price continued to change because what they told us they could do they couldnt. I would not recommend.
We are a repeat customer of Jerrol Walker and Ed Tomko! The customer service is always excellent from everyone you come in contact with every time! I definitely recommend Jerrol and this dealership! Thank you for all of your help and great service, Jerrol and Allen C.! I LOVE my new jeep!
I had a terrible experience working with the service department at Ed Tomko in Avon Lake, OH. In March 2013 I leased a brand new Dodge Dart, which started having some mechanical issues in early 2014. While I liked my car a lot up until it stopped functioning properly, working with the service departments at the delearships has been nothing but frustrating. Having leased the car from a Columbus dealership before moving to the Cleveland area, I first took my car to an Amherst Dodge dealership, but decided to try Ed Tomko in Avon Lake after getting disappointing service in Amherst. I called them up and explained my dilemma, and everything seemed to be going ok until I mentioned that I had gotten my tires aligned by an outside mechanic (something that is not covered under my warranty). I understand that if I got something done that was covered under warranty done by an outside mechanic, that my warranty would be void. But this man on the phone from Ed Tomko basically laughed in my face when I mentioned the warranty, and suggested that I go back to the outside mechanic for the rest of my service. Apparently since something so basic as a tire alignment could have been done improperly, this man no longer wanted anything to do with my vehicle. It was a crazy and nauseating experience, and I will never buy a Dodge, Jeep, or Chrysler ever again. Nice enough cars, but terrible service.
Ive been buying-leasing with Jerrol Walker at your Avon Lake location for 2+ years now. He is just wonderful and knows how to take care of his customers. He makes sure you are happy and taken care of! He is a great asset to your company.. I look forward to dealing more business with him in the future.
I recently bought a car from Jerrol Walker. He is an excellent salesperson. Jerrol took his time with me during my visit at the dealership. Jerrol is honest. He did everything he said he was going to do before I purchased the car. Jerrol made sure I was satisfied with my purchase. I highly recommend seeing Jerrol Walker. I am a very satisfied customer.
This place will say anything to get you in the door and into the signing room. Do not take their word, read every page of small print before signing anything. What they said and what was in the fine print of my contract were not the same. After discovering this, I ended up talking to Mr. Tomko himself and couldn’t have been more shocked that the owner of the company has such horrible customer service skills. He was rude condescending, arrogant, and didn’t help at all. He basically told me that his employee’s word doesn’t matter. Mr. Tomko had a chance to fix the situation but he failed. My advice is stay away from this place - there are much better dealers in the area.
Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. I went in looking to lease a Cherokee or Wrangler(4dr). I told them I would be trading my car in towards the lease and would be wanting cash back as my SUV was valued at over 18k. I used the same site they value cars with and the salesman came back and told me it was worth 3k less. Which all that means is they would give me 15k for the trade in and then sell it at 18k. Ok. So then I said that I wanted to be at 260 a month in payments. He laughed and said there is absolutely no way a Wrangler will be in that range and that the Cherokee would be close. So I left. Didnt even try to help. He was rude, insulting and uninterested in making an attempt to sell a car. He did let me test drive a Cherokee, however, he said only go down the street and back. There isnt any gas in it. REALLY?! He wasnt lying, the gas light was flashing the entire 3 mins I was able to drive the Cherokee. The next day I went to Spitzer, told them exactly what I wanted back in cash and what I wanted my payments to be, same as I did at Tomko. They valued my trade in perfectly and got my payment below what I wanted, not too mention I got exactly what I wanted in cash back. They were nice, helpful and did everything they could to earn my business. I got a 4 door Wrangler that is amazing
I dont know what everybodys problem was with this dealership. After reading the other reviews, I was very hesitant to visit this dealership but I did end up going and the salesmen were attentive and helpful; more so than some dealers Ive been to. Their selection of cars is great too. Dont listen to all of the complaints, just go and see for yourself; Im happy I did.
Jerold walker, is absolutely the best sales person I have ever bought a car from. Not only did he help me buy my jeep back in February but months later is still great help! Whenever Ive had a question he has always been ready to help. Do yourself a favor and go to Ed tomko and ask for Jerold walker!
Tried to take a leased jeep from another dealership back that was bought from another dealership but under one of their financing groups and all they said was no. Called twice after I talked to financing group that told me to go there. Both times they said no. Guys hasnt anyone ever told you no doesnt exist in the sales vocabulary? Guess Ill by my new Jeep Rubicon at another dealership.
Stopped in to start looking for a car. Salesman came out asking if he could show a car. Very rude! When I started explaining what I had and what features I liked he cut me off - told me if I didnt know what model I was looking for he couldnt help. My son started to explain what I would like to have in a car- the salesman turned around and went back in the dealership. We left. Will never go back there.
Terrible customer service, David tomko is one of the most unprofessional people I have ever had to deal with. We bought a 2013 dodge grand caravan that had a trans problem at 40,000 miles. Covered under warranty. It has been 2.5 weeks and they just looked at it. They are refusing to give a rental car while the repair is being done and they are obviously not in a hurry to get it done and there is nothing they will do to fix the problem...
Just picked up my third Ram this month from Ed Tomko/Jerrol Walker in Avon Lake last month. The trucks are great rides and the sales/services continues to be top notch!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Everyone knows some of the stereotypes associated with car salesman; high pressure, tell you whatever you want to hear, etc.You dont get this from Jerrol or anyone Ive dealt with at Ed Tomko. Im a repeat customer and so long as Ram keeps pumping out awesome trucks Ill keep coming back.Jerrol is a total professional, he listens to what you want, lets the products do the talking so you can decide, hes punctual, follows up, is a great communicator, and worked hard with me to get a fair deal done.If youre looking for a new ride I 100% recommend Jerrol Walker and if youre specifically looking for a Dodge Ram or Chrysler - Ed Tomko is a great place to go.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!I have a brand new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that I have owned for less than a month. The lock that secures the center console seized up and would not open, leaving my work ID, insurance card, garage door opener, etc. trapped inside.Earlier in the week, I had ordered and paid for two sets of splash guards through Ed Tomkos service department. Ironically, when I first discovered that the lock was broken, I was in my driveway (unable to gain access to my garage/garage door opener) when I received the call from Ed Tomko that my splash guards were ready for pick up. I mentioned the problem with the lock and was reassured that they would be able to fix the problem when I came to pick up the parts. After picking up my parts, I was directed to the Service Department. I explained the problem with the lock and that the employee that I spoke with over the phone stated that someone would be available to fix it that day. The service department employee informed me that there were no appointments available for over two weeks! I emphasized the sense of urgency needed to resolve this issue (I work for a government facility...no work ID/clock-ins = FIRED), and the minimal amount of time that would be required to resolve the issue, but it all fell on deaf ears. The employees response was, Go somewhere else if you need it done faster, and went back to staring at his computer screen! At this point, I asked to speak with the manager of the service department because of the employees rude, disrespectful, and dismissive attitude. After the Service employee and manager spoke, I was directed to the managers office where again, I explained my situation and how I was told over the phone that the issue could be resolved that day. He responded by calling me a liar in front of my 6 year old daughter!!!! He said, Theres no way anyone would have told you that. I calmly responded by stating, Sir, I assure you that the gentleman I spoke with did. His smart-mouthed response was, Well then, lets go find him.We walked over to the parts department and found the person that I spoke with on the phone. When confronted by his manager and myself, he did the right thing and told the truth...he told his manager, in front of all of his coworkers, that he DID tell me the issue could be resolved that day. So what was the managers response? Again, a nasty remark! He told me, So you want it looked at today? Fine. [To the Parts employee] YOU can go out there and take a look at it then. [To me] And by the way, hes not a mechanic.I have NEVER experienced this level of disrespect as a customer! The young man that came out to look at my vehicle was very nice and understanding of my problem. He attempted to open the console with my key, but he too could not get it unlocked. He also recommended taking the vehicle elsewhere...or worst case, breaking the console open! At this point, Id heard enough!!!In summary, I will NEVER take my vehicle to this dealership again or purchase any Jeep parts through them. I strongly advise against anyone else using their Service Department and I am seriously reconsidering my purchase of a Jeep vehicle if I cannot find a quality maintenance provider!!!
Worst service for buying a car possible went in the dealership to buy a car.salesman immediately took us to his desk to fill out a credit app before we even looked at one car and decided how we were going to pay for the car.. We asked why that was necessary if we didnt even know what kind of car we wanted. He said that if we didnt like the procedure then the conversation is over and we can leave..So we went somewhere else and bought one the same day!
The sales person that took care of me, seemed lazy. He was only answering the questions I asked, he wasnt offering any other additional information. I went to test drive the 2020 Pacifica, and asked if he could go with me, because, while Im driving if I have any questions, I like to ask then, he told me no, they had a time slot, so I asked if someone else could go with me and he asked me, why cant you drive? Very rude statement!!
I called them after I saw the price online and Jerrol R. Walker picked up the phone and he confirmed online price but when we went there from Franklin OH which was 230 miles the price was already different and they didnt honer their Online price. So if you ok to be treated or drive 460 miles for nothing like I did then go ahead deal with them
Was met with the rudest salesperson Ive ever met. Would not allow me to test drive the vehicle as he said (and I quote here) ...My commission on this car is next to nothing and so he said it was a waste of his time. Complained to the manager but didnt respond. Unbelievable.
Years ago, I worked at this place. My family, friends and I are still treated like family. My old customers tell me that they keep coming back because of the great service they receive. If you want to deal locally, here is the place! Family owned and family operated.
I honestly can not say enough about Tomko Dodge Ram Jeep and my salesman Jerrol Walker. Literally does everything he can to get you into EXACTLY what you want In your price range .. I am converting all my vehicles over simply for the customer service I received.. not to mention RAM trucks are the nicest out there for the $... thank you Jerrol!
Worst experience ever, wife hates vehicle that we werent aloud to drive, now being told that they would of aloud me to drive this when they realized I was going to by it but NEVER was asked if I want to drive it. Tires make a loud humming noise when u drive it down the highway and my wife has a tumor which makes her sick and gives her headaches with any noises like this and when we tried to return this vehicle 4 hours later they said no, now we are stuck with a vehicle my wife cant drive until I get new tires. All ED TOMKO cares about is the dollar and I will never go back there and Im just putting this all out there so no one else goes there and has this experience
Purchased a used 2012 kia sportage for ed tomko, had a problem with it two days later called my sales men Jerrol Walker and he told me no problem we will take care of it ,called there friendly service department and they got me right in,Shane from the service department had it figured out right away came out and talked to me and took care of it..thank you so much for all your excellent service,I would definitely recommend Ed Tomko to all my friends and family, and the best car sales men in town Jerrol Walker.
This dealership will say anything to sell a car and does not care about customer service AT ALL !!! Was lied to by their salesperson Gerald Walker and their sales manager was flat out RUDE!! It is dealerships like this who give car sales a bad name! Would NEVER buy another car here!
I tried to buy a new truck off of them a few years back. They tried to twist it around and add the price of the Express package on top of the sticker price. It was already in the sticker price!I wasnt going to be charged twice for it.So I went and bought a new Toyota Tundra instead. What a sham. This is why the American car companies are in the shape they are in.I cant believe Chrysler let them stay in business when they closed Spitzer up on Rte 90 and Rte 254.The auto companies want dealers by high traffic flow areas, yet they let Ed Tomko hide at their location.Do not shop at Ed Tomko.

2022-04-01My experience with them is they are very friendly and will try everything to make sure your happy. I dealt with jerroll walker and he went above and beyond making sure that I was happy. I felt like I wasnt just another person looking for a vehicle at a dealership, I felt as if I was treated as they would treat their family. The vehicle was exactly as I was told over the phone and there was no hidden things anywhere with the vehicle or the finance paperwork. What I was told prior to arriving was what I seen when I was there signing. I am completely happy with my experience with them.

2022-03-12Disappointed in the salesman Jarrol Walker. He likes like he has your best interest until you sign the papers then your no one. He told us free oil changed for 3 years. Then we discovered 3 free oil changes in the FIRST 3 YEARS! Well when your service department tells you what miles to bring it back yes your going to use those in the first year! Oil changes are $75!When I tried to talk to him he walks away while talking to him expecting me to follow. I asked him to find a specific jeep for a friend and it seemed to be a bother. I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from here again. If you do, get EVERYTHING in writing and make them spell everything out in writing. Don’t let them rush you, make them explain it to you satisfaction. Back to Ford I go!

2022-05-27Buyer beware. They will advertise a price is at 99.5% of the population will not qualify for because nobody is both military and first responder and Chrysler customer all at once. Advertise price will be $3000 below what they will actually try to sell the vehicle for and even if you tell them about your competitive trade offer and they promise they will make a deal they will undercut the trade value by $6000. You might be expecting a $10,000 price difference between your trade and a purchase but they will give you $20,000 price sheet. Stay away from shady practices.

2022-05-31I recently got my first truck, a RAM 2019 Laramie from Ed TOMKO. It’s been one of my best experiences with a dealership. Vince, my sales rep, was great to work with. He let me test drive a few trucks just to give me that truck experience. He got me a good deal with my trade in, the truck pricing itself and much more. I got a good financing with one of their close counterparts(as best as the way could with the rising rate environment these days). The best part was I had a few small requests with the truck, mostly cosmetic after the buy. Vince, and Charlie, at Servicing, were beyond accommodating with them, no questions asked.I took the truck out of the Owners hand, who was driving it for a while, so full credits to him too. I am so happy with the truck so far. It’s a great ride.If you’re looking for any CJDR offering, please do keep these boys at Ed Tomko in mind. They have a lot of cars and trucks in stock, and great personnel to work with. Me personally, will keep going back to them. Thank you guys.

2022-06-22We were customers of Ed Tomko for nearly a decade, but it seems like its gone way downhill in the last few years. Warranties have not been honored, repairs have become excessively overpriced, and we have always gotten free oil changes upon buying a new car, but after buying our most recent vehicle and going to have it changed, we were told that was impossible and they dont have any deals like that.We were up there today to enquire about a noise we keep hearing when we turn the wheel. While there we saw a young man with what we later learned was a salesman. The boy was near tears and clearly intimidated so we moved closer to see if he needed help. This poor child was near tears and begging for his last 2 weeks pay. The older salesman said he wasnt getting it.We went inside Ed Tomko and saw two salesmen, including the one from outside, and the general manager talking and laughing. One used a racial slur about the boy, who is Hispanic. We could not believe what we were hearing. My husband and I are both in our late 60s and marched in many peaceful protests when we were young in opposition to segregation. It took a great amount of restraint for us to not give them a piece of our mind.We will never patronize this dealership again. They dont honor the terms of their sales. Using racial slurs and denying children their paychecks is unacceptable. I will be bringing up what we heard at the next city council meeting. We must protect our children, and a business like this has no place in our community.

2022-02-21Purchasing another vehicle soon and so far this place has been a good find. Early in the process but the inventory looks great, vehicles look diverse and the sales representatives have been polite, informative, and exactly the kind of people I would be comfortable buying from. Looking forward to getting the vehicle I need I. The spring from them.

2022-04-08Poor service from Nick Zolani… I went there to test drive a car I was interested in and I had to ask him what his name was since he didn’t introduce himself to us upon walking in when he was standing right there. He also did not acknowledge the fact that I was the one buying the vehicle! He shook my fiancés hand and didn’t bother to say anything to me (when I’m the one writing the check). Ended up shopping elsewhere and bought a car that day! This salesman’s rude and ignorant ways of going about business deterred us away. I don’t have anything nice to say about this place. Not to mention the inside of the cars on the lot are dirty… nope!

2022-02-16If I can give them 0 stars, I would do it. I do have a 2019 Dodge Durango. At my third trip at this Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealer, finally someone talked to me in the MOPAR Service department - they said that this is the guy who is the warranty specialist. On my first two trips they just pushed me away and send me to talk to the dealer where I bought the car, which isnt a Chrysler dealer. They said the part I requested to be replaced due to a manufacturing defect isnt covered. After I checked the warranty on my car based on the VIN number I found, not surprisingly, that the warranty is three years and/or 36000 miles. Third time I took with me the official papers from Dodge to prove it. This time they didnt say I am not covered, they rejected me because of a lot of work they need to do and they basically dont have time for me, maybe if I come back around May 2022. I went there to change the part (back center light rack that went out due to poor insolation, water went inside the lights and partially shut off the light), and also to do the regular maintenance recommended by Dodge (MOPAR): change filters, change some fluids, check tie rods, breaks, rotate tires, change oil, and all the good stuff for a 30K miles car. What car dealer is this if they cannot perform regular service for a Dodge? I am shocked and I do believe that they must shut down this place. I felt disrespected and manufacturer should take a strong action against them. I will do everything I can to make this incident public, sending an official letter to Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram manufacturer. It is completely unacceptable to treat customers at this low level.

2022-05-13Jerrol walker and all of the Ed tomko staff was so great to work with! They made our process so easy and quick! We have bought two Pacifica mini vans from them, and we will for sure buy our next one there!
