Hardwood floors, King size bed was decent the bedding had small holes in a few places. Next items nice size TV, small refrigerator and microwave makes it worthwhile. Last when I took a shower there was a small leak that needs fixing. Not bad overall so I gladly recommend this Econo Lodge. P.S. I have to remember to choose 🚭 room the next time.
So far so good. Staff very attentive. Noise was an issue for one evening, problem resolved promptly. Thank you! I have been here for over a week and that was the first real problem I have had. Some people just have no consideration for other people and while I understand hotels are a bit noisy at times, but this was extreme and non stop. So thanks for dealing with this issue!!! They could of left it go and told me to leave or get over it. Because they could of had made more money off not asking them to leave, but apparently when asked to keep the noise down they could not or would not comply. So two thumbs up!!! THANK YOU- PR
If I could give this place NEGATIVE stars I would. I came from driving 17hours on the road (Florida to Ohio)…. Get to this hotel and once I get to the room I was met at the door with a HORRIBLE ODOR, the room was non smoking but had all types of burnt holes in the blanket, pillow cases has stains, sheets looked like they haven’t been changed in months, had all types of stains on them and then they tried to put a mattress cover OVER the previous one that was filthy…. And the worst part was there were SMALL LITTLE BUGS that looked like bed bugs all on the bed. I didn’t sit down nor put anything down. I immediately went and told the manager and he have me another room which was even worse than the first one. DO NOT STAY HERE. Place is filthy
Do NOT stay here. My room was not cleaned - the bathroom was dirty and full of hair, the floors were sticky, and the sheets had several holes. Both the shower grab bar and wall mounted hair dryer were unattached. The exterior door was propped open for hours, the building had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, and hot water dripped on you from a missing ceiling tile in front of the ice machine. In addition, my room was missing the chair, TV channel listing, coffee maker and luggage rack.
It was disgusting. The comforter had burn holes everywhere, the microwave was sticky and nasty there was food all over the floor, the bathroom had dirt everywhere, the towels were brown, the mirrors had stuff splashed all over it, the headboard was black and it was supposed to be off white, the remote was greasy, the hair dryer had yellow fingerprints all over it. The fridge was so sticky you could barely open it. Some crazy guy was yelling and stomping down the hallway at 4 in the morning.
This was the absolute worst hotel my husband and I have ever seen. The sheets were stained, the floor was so sticky our shoes stuck to it. There was feces in the toilet, crud and dead bugs in the bathtub, the couch stunk and I got a towel to put down to sit and the towels were just as dirty. The tray that had the ice bucket and glasses on it had cigarette ashes and the fridge as well as the microwave had old moldy food growing inside. The Wi-Fi didnt work and there was no Continental breakfast as advertised, which we wouldnt have eaten anyway. After asking for a new room the woman behind the counter shook her head and said no more rooms very rudely so my husband and I stayed in our car. Im seriously considering calling the health department. I took pictures to prove that I am not joking. Ive never posted a review before and this is how serious that I am if I can I will find a way to post the pictures.
For the price this property was fantastic. It is tired and could use some updating, but they are working hard to keep it in good shape. Everything was clean and worked. While the staff was awesome, it seems that smoking is common among their guests and the smell of cigarette smoke was everywhere.
Horrible the first room u can tell had a dog in it by the smell as the second room was no better than tell us they can only switch the room once it was nasty 🤢 and they told us we couldn’t get new sheets so we were supposed to sleep on someone else’s bloody sheets no I wouldn’t waste my time cause the housekeepers don’t take there time to clean and make sure everything is sanitary just sad if I could give no stars I would smh 🤦🏾♀️
This was the worst hotel I have visited. Ever. Price was decent at $42/night and it was in the Choice Hotel family, and in Fairlawn, Ohio so I thought it would still be within a certain standard. I was so wrong. The whole hotel smelled of stale cigarettes even though it was no smoking. They advertised breakfast, but didnt have anything due to Covid. Most hotels we have stayed in still had things like boxes of cereal and things that you could take to your room. They just had nothing. The room was as bare bones as possible. Bed, night table, desk, TV mini fridge and microwave. But the furniture looked like they picked it up on a curb somewhere. It was worn, ragged and even broken. There was a 2 seated sofa, but I was afraid to even sit on it. It was threadbare and filthy. No coffee pot, not even a clock. Walls were missing hunks of paint and the floor had squishy spots that felt like you were going to fall through. Microwave was filthy. Everything felt dirty.Bed was not very comfortable and the parking lot lights shined through the window so brightly it never looked like night in there even with the curtains closed. You could hear everything in the rooms around us and nights 1&2 of our 3 night stay, it sounded like someone was being beaten and murdered in the room above us. There was furniture banging and being tossed around for hours as well as running, screaming, yelling and crying at very loud decibels. We were ready to call the police and then it went quiet for a couple hours before starting back up again. Second night it was even worse and eventually took to the corridors. Then it went silent so dont know if they got kicked out or the police came...at least night 3 was quieter. We did not feel safe in this hotel. Even the latch on the door was broken and hanging halfway off the door. Thankfully it did have a working deadlock, but I would never stay at this hotel again.
There are wonderful staff who are very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. They are curtious and polite. I like the breakfast in the morning and like that the staff pay attention to the breakfast items and fill it as needed. The room was spacious and had new flooring which was nice. The non smoking room did not smell like smoke as it does in other hotels. Truly enjoyed my stay.
The only good thing besides the price and front desk man ( was amazing and nice) is that it was a smoking room. When I sat in the chair next to the dresser/desk u immediately saw huge yellow stains on the box springs. Then the 3 pillows they gave me ( california king size bed), they were old, flat and little. Terrible night sleep, ended up leaving in the middle of the night to stay in another hotel.
I have never stayed in a place so nasty. The hallways and stair wells were filthy! The matress was so worn out it was like sleeping directly on the box spring. The whole place felt so gross that I slept on top of the sheets and used my jacket as a blanket. The whole place was just gross.
The housekeeping does not take the proper time cleaning the rooms and bathroom at all. The room was trashy when I went to take a shower there was dirt caked on the shower walls and floor and the shower head was absolutely disgusting. The nighttime front desk clerk is very rude and disrespectful. Housekeeping is very rude banging on the door Even when there’s a do not disturb sign on the door. We have been double charged twice now for both our stays.
I asked for a non smoking room and the hallway was drenched in the scent of smoke. The smoking and non smoking rooms are not separated. There was also bugs crawling around in shower and tub creaked so much I thought I would fall through. There were also items in room that were so dusty they were greasy. I did need to switch days as i put in wrong date and they keep adding and removing money back and forth. I am still having to call even after my trip. However, the lady at the front desk was amazingly nice.
Very poor upkeep. Shower head held on with masking tape. Shower wall was cracked. Grab handle in shower was broken. Lamp shades were very tattered. Hallways had terrible odor. Pillows were flat. Support under bathroom sink had a buildup of dirt. Flusher in toilet was broken. Would not reccomend this hotel.
Id give this place negative stars if it was possible. They took a long time to let me check in, though I was early. But the stairwell and halls are filthy, my room looks clean-ish but the comforter looks gross and is full of cigarette holes. The matress is so worn out I might as well be laying directly on the box spring. I get that its a cheap hotel but come on. I would probably be just as comfortable sleeping in my truck. Please for the love of God, find somewhere else to sleep if you are in Akron! 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
This hotel is in need of a total makeover. My mattress looked to be at least 10 years old, there were holes in the blankets on both beds, the bathroom was so old with cracks in the tiles that I didnt want to shower in it. Only positive was that despite looking and sounding like it was from the 1970s, the a/c did work.
Hotel smells strong smoke, room old and outdated, blankets and covers with holes from cigarettes burn, remaining candies under bedsheets from previous customers ? leaking shower head, toilet noisy with flushing sounds on and off even not using, not enough towels, towels dirty, drawers dirty and sticky inside. No luggage rack in room. Breakfast was poor with no coffee, only few bagels and stale juice ? Only good thing is the location of the hotel with easy access to restaurants and nearby stores.
Have stayed here twice now, and had 2 different experiences. 1st time we were in room 114 and we were impressed. Not a lot of noise, room was clean, bed was comfy, no smells. We were pleased enough to go back, but the 2nd time we were in room 310 and the bathroom was scary, tub needs glazed or something, there were those rusty looking, water drips all down the wall, the hallway smelled, the carpet was dirty & stained, so much noise as people were just chilling & standing around in the parking lot. Really displeased the 2nd time around. Never got a chance to see what the breakfast was about because they dont mention it at check in and its over by 9am.
When we checked in the process was pretty fast. We were given our room key and told how to enter to go up to the room. Upon entering the entrance that lead to the room, there was a horrible odor. The smell was extremely strong and smelled of marijuana. My eleven year old son was coughing the whole way to the room. Then, upon enter the room... we noticed that the water in the bathroom sing was so hot that it may severely burn the skin. Since, the faucet itself was broken it was hard to adjust the temperature. So, we didnt use it. The bathroom ( tub/shower) was absolutely disgusting. There was black film (dirt) covering the whole shower. I literally laid towels in the tub to stand on just to be able to take a shower. Being the fact this hotel was in a good neighborhood. I expected it to be moderately NICE! I was so disappointed in the fact it was NASTY! I booked this reservation online with choice .com This was truly my very worst experience with the change. I will not be recommending ANYONE to this hotel. Nor, will we ever stay there in the future. I now wish I would had taken up my issue with management. However, they didnt appeal to me as employees that were capable of handling such complaints nor a resolution suitable for our horrible experience. Upon checking out and still needing to be in the local area I book 2 more nights with Quality Inn on Chenoweth Road in Akron. I can not commend them enough for the cleanliest, friendless and wonderful stay we later encountered.
Econo Lodge Akron disappointed us. We were looking for a low priced hotel but we expected it to at least be clean. We were wrong. The sheets of both beds were stained and dirty. We asked for the one sheet to be changed and housekeeping did come in and change it. However, they did not change the blankets, which had burn holes in them. The bottom sheets were not fitted, but flat, so they did not stay put. Who knows how long it had been since the mattress covers had been washed! The carpet beneath the bed had not been vacuumed in quite some time because there were bits of paper & who knows what else under them. The hairdryer in the bathroom was totally broken with the outside guard completely removed. The tub and shower were dirty. There was a 5 gallon bucket in the middle of the lower hallway when we arrived, and it was still there when we left. Apparently it was catching something dripping from the ceiling.
I have spent the night in a lot of hotels and motels in my day, and rejected staying in a few places as soon as I saw the inside of the room. Thankfully to being smart enough to ask to see my ACTUAL room before paying for it. This place was very very clean and the night shift is really nice and caring. I work nights and they also let me hang out inside for about 2 hours and watch TV so I could just rent a room at 6a.mFor one day instead of paying for two nights and one of those days being only two hours. Kudos to the night shift.
We checked in at 3:40 but had to wait until 4:15 to actually access our room, even though advertised check in time is anytime after 3pm. We were told our room was just starting to be cleaned. We arrived with another family, who checked in right after us, and they were told the same thing even though they were on a completely different floor. Wi-Fi was spotty and you had to constantly re-agree to terms and conditions of Choice Hotels to actually access it. Burn holes in blankets. Bathroom could use a deep cleaning and floor below the shower was weak. Old furniture. Weird smell from AC/heater when we turned it on. Stale smoke smell in room and hallways even though we were in a non-smoking room. Continental breakfast contained no source of protein or fruit, just muffins, bagels and cold cereal, and the orange juice tasted weird. Hotel staff was friendly, but that is about the only good thing about our stay.
I have enjoyed my stay with yall. Very quiet for location. I have worked in Choice hotels in Florida and can tell this is an older motel. Yes, there were a few tjings I found but nothing to complain about. There is room for improvement. The Staff are very polite and helpful when needed. Yes, I would stay here again if I was in area.
The hotel seems to have had some renovations so that has helped the cosmetic appearance of the rooms. The bathrooms always appear to be clean, we had a new tv in our room, some new furniture, etc. The new items were nice, and made the room look nice. This is a smoking hotel, so of course you might smell some smoke in the hallways. The a/c could have used the filter changed, and we could have used more than the 3 throw pillows we had on our king size bed. Oh, and its a habit of mine to wipe down surfaces that are normally touched in any hotel I stay in. The remote in this room hadnt been wiped off in I dont know how long. I was wiping it with a Clorox wipe and this sticky black stuff was coming off on it. I think the rooms could use some better cleaning. All and all for the price its not bad. Oh and the area where the cable came into the room, the outlet was completely open. Its just little things like this that could use improved upon.
The room was at the quality expected for the price paid. Super cheap room. A little out dated, but everything worked fine. WiFi connected without issue and had decent speeds. (4Mb to 5Mb download) Room could have been cleaned better. As mentioned before, for what we paid for the nights stay, you cant expect it to be a luxury suit.
The advance booking rate we received was great, but when we arrived, we didnt even stay. The room was fairly clean, but the bedding, sheets and blankets were dirty and stained. The bathroom had large holes in the tile and was very small. The interior of the hotel was dirty. Floors needed vacuumed and the walls needed repair and paint. The hotel is in need of serious upgrades. We booked this hotel for a softball team of 10 players and NONE of them ended up staying there because all of the rooms were so bad.
.The price was low . I paid 50 after taxes . But I went up and seen my room and its raunchy. Its very small and the covers is dirty the pillows were thrown on the bed any kind of way which made me question whether the room was really cleaned and I honestly feel like this one of the type of rooms that would have bed bugs it looks terrible . In paid for my room over an hour ago and dont even wanna go in it. Im sitting in my car . But u get what u pay for . Its not too too bad . Tv, air conditioning, wifi included or so they say , and complimentary breakfast . The bed covers and sheets could just be permanent stains . But it still look too dirty to give them even 2 stars
This place is an absolute dump hole. People hanging out in the hallways and stairs, none of which speak a word of english, on their cell phones just loitering. Non smoking rooms that reek of smoke. Bathtub that feels like you are going to end up on the floor below you. Bulbs out in the room. No fitted sheet on bed; fitted mattress cover yes, but covered with a flat sheet. Towels with black stains in the bathroom. Walls of room with multiple damage areas, simply painted over, not fixed. What an absolute dump. Person working behind the desk was unwelcoming and acted burdened by the fact I was checking in. Wife and I left less than 2 hours after checking in because of the smell and the linens of the room. And lets not forget the car in the parking lot on blocks. The only reason I gave it one star, was because in order to post this, I had to tap on a star. ZERO STARS.
This facility is in need of upgrade/renovation. The hallway reaked of smoke. The room was clearly outdated which made it look and feel grimey.....carpet hadnt been vacuumed for a very long time-definitely not a good place for families. Staff was friendly & accommodating. Geographic location was perfect. Please upgrade in order to provide a Better cleaner value to your guests.
Didnt interact much with the hotel staff. Check in was fine, and stayed 2 nights total. At first glance, when walking through the hall and staircase of the hotel it felt like an old college dorm and did not smell clean. The rooms were very outdated in both the bedroom and bathroom areas, however it was serviceable as a place to crash. In my 2 Queen Doubles room, the comforter sheets on on both beds had holes in them that looked like possibly cigarettes that burnt through? In my friends room, who had a King bed, their comforter sheet had a very suspicious stain on it (semen?). My friends girlfriend was pretty disgusted and I dont blame her for it, but I was a little embarrassed since I booked the room. Thankfully, there were no sightings of pests. The queen beds in my room were comfortable enough to sleep through the night without issues, which was the good part.
The linens in the room were full of stains and had cigarette burn holes in them. The entire hallway smelled of smoke, even though a smoking ban has been in place since 2006. There was no heat/heating vents or ducts in the room, which being a hotel in the Midwest, should be automatic. We had a 3 night stay and only stayed one night before we booked a different hotel for the remainder of our stay. We didnt even bother requesting a refund for our remaining, unused nights. This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had.
Checkin took way too long. My friends room wasnt ready until after 4:30pm (we arrived at 3pm). The stairwell was absolutely disgusting. Our room was dirty, cigarette burns in the comforters and I found a girls headband hanging from the corner of the tv. The bathroom floor wasnt very clean. The beds were not very comfortable and the pillows were small and flimsy. I would never stay here again.

Clean, Safe, great location and adorable. My room has a mini fridge. Can’t complain about the freezing A.C it’s just right! I couldn’t find my toothbrush but no worries thx to their vending machine. My daughter wanted cold water, their vending machines are well stocked.
Dirty, poor breakfast selections. I wanted to here because of the breakfast. It was poor. I didnt even eat. Too bad. I had to buy McDonalds. And I really had my mine set on having waffles, eggs, and sausage from econolodge. But instead they just have bagels and cereal. The juice Machine was also broken.
The hotel is inexpensive and many aspects of the hotel reflected that. The room was not particularly clean with burn holes in the carpet, and bedding even though it was a not smoking room. Many items in the room were old and the A/C leaked water all over the floor. Breakfast was also quite minimal.
Dated and needs an upgrade, overall front desk and housekeeping staff there are friendly and helpful, but this is the type of place Id choose because there was no other. Rooms are clean, but hard to feel that way when everything is so old and falling apart, from the bedding, furniture, etc. Nice they offer free breakfast, but youll have to get up by 7am or else there is nothing left and is definitely a first come, first serve situation. If you dont get up by 9am, you cant even get any coffee. Youll likely encounter some mishaps within your room and t his hotel also has no elevator, fyi. The location is good, the staff is too, but the building is just dated big time! They also have horrible internet, very slow.
I was very unhappy. I only stayed because it was so late at night and we were tired. The carpet was dirty. The bed was thrown together. Sheets were neat on the bed. There were only two flat pillows on the bed so we balled our coats up to put under our head. The windows were dirty. I had a hard time sleeping because I did not feel comfortable there.
Room was dirty upon entrance asked for floor to be swept the bathroom was disgusting. the housekeeper attempted to clean toilet bit left a nasty film from the cleaner .bathroom walls disgusting..trash still n the drawers..microwave disgusting and they charges me 60 filth. if I could of left I wudim very disgusted
The person I spoke with was friendly. The rate was decent- not great, especially for the condition of the room. I do not expect to have cigarette burn hole in my bedding. I expect the floors to have been swept. I also expect to have the TV - the cable was out for several hours.
The comforter had burn holes and it was a non smoking room and the whole place smells like pot I had to put towels under the door to get the pot smell out of the room the floors were sticky it was just disgusted I wouldnt tell anyone to stay there I would tell them go somewhere else
This place is only suitable for crackheads and hookers. Room smelled and was dirty. Bedding had holes in it. They gave me no towels or wash clothes. They then charged my card an extra thirty dollars. The juice in the morning smelled like chemicals and burned our throats. It was a horrible experience.
If you need a clean bed, a working shower and not much more, this hotel will serve your needs. It is showing its age, and you would not want to spend a lot of time hanging out in the hotel room. The parking lot was a bit dark and some of the patrons may make some a little nervous. Park near the entrances where the lighting is better and I would not linger in the parking lots after dark. On the other hand, it is probably the best price in the area, so you should not expect a lot more. I believe it may be the only hotel left in this area that has Smoking rooms available. The hotel is showing its age, but it appeared clean and everything in my room worked.
Excellent affordable hotel with a very friendly staff. This is a great place to stay. Rooms are up to date clean and very affordable. They also allow pets and have both smoking and non smoking rooms. They were fantastic during my recent stay when I evacuated for hurricane Irma and ended up in the Akron area. Cheers to manager Charlie and his friendly crew!
This hotel was in total disrepair the floors and carpets were filthy and the rooms in the rooms were all wavey and need attention the door latch was broken off and the shower curtain rod was falling off the wall the chair inside room was worn beyond all belief just not a good stay free or otherwise.
Overall, this location was beyond what I thought it would have been. I wasn’t excepting it to be as nice and clean. I cold have easily stayed longer and if I would have seen that it was as nice as I saw on arrival I would have booked a longer stay. Only negative we’re the sheets. They were discolored and stained but I’m sure they were clean considering how nice everything else was.
STOP YOUR RESERVATION NOW! ALERT: BED BUGS!They dont even deserve 1 star. Nothing better than waking up 4am to see bed bugs!!!!!! Instantly got my stuff and went to the front desk. The employee proceeded to argue with me and told me they were summer bugs coming through the window. Never got a refund. Just completely disturbing that the employee took NO action which means there are STILL BED BUGS!!!!!!!!! The mattress was stained with a rainbow of colors. How disgusting and dirty. They should tear this place down.
Bathtub faucet is broken; water running constantly 24/7. The drain is completely rusted and looks disgusting. The blankets on the beds have cigarette holes burned in them. Headboard screwed to the wall in the wrong spot so the bed doesn’t line up with it. Beds are hard as a rock. When I called and requested maintenance to come fix the faucet because I didn’t want to hear running water all night, they showed up and said “yeah I can’t fix that without shutting water off to the whole building and I don’t have any other rooms available for you to move to.”
The second worst hotel/motel Ive ever stayed at.Econo Lodge was the only option remaining due to a handful of big events going on in Akron/Canton, an area not equipped to handle a major influx of visitors. The hallway had an overwhelming stench of smoke immediately upon entering (both kinds of smoke). My room had an incredibly strong butterscotch smell, as if they had tried to cover up the smoke smell by pouring concentrated butterscotch oil in the carpet and in the vents.Obviously I didnt have high expectations of this place, but I was way off in thinking that it might at least be cleanish. The towels were stained (went to the store and bought my own), everything was old and falling apart, and the room was all-around gross. The door entering the building has a key card reader and the green indicator light was on, but it was utterly useless as the door opened without it. Anyone could come into this place at any point. If you are able to stay in any of the many other hotels in the area, I strongly recommend doing so.
Two star hotel. It dreams of being two stars. It is a half a star for being cheap. I stay in red roof inns all the time by comparison and say they have a pretty good track record of having a clean room but no amenities. That is a two star hotel IMO. This place is not clean. It is ugly dirty. The hall ways reek from the 20 year old carpeting and the rooms smell like chemical cleaner. It aint pretty. I seriously inspected the room for bed bugs. Didnt find any and went ahead and slept here. I wont ever stay here again though. If you do...leave the window open. No telling what those chemicals are.
For the price it could have been a little better. The light bulb was out by the bed, when air conditioner was on there was a mildew smell that came out of it (but it did cool room). there was a cigarette burn in the sheets, but the sheets smelled clean. i think i would have our the hole on the bottom of bed. we were on the second floor so it did not smell of smoke as previous reviews noted, however you do smell it as you enter the hotel. the area where hotel is located is very safe and had plenty to do. staples was helpful because they let us weigh our bag before we went to airport.
State was very friendly and hotel near I77 which is perfect but the hallways are horribly smelly of cigarette, weed, humidity or mushrooms (was hard to tell). The sheets were also stained but nothing against the carpet or the bathroom. We paid 44 bucks so no big deal!
Its not easy to get to. Cost more than what it shows online, because of the tax. My room was upstairs and the indoor light does not work. Its supposed to be a non smoking room, but there are cigarette burns on the bed spread. The motel I went to last night was a choice one also. The bed stinks. They are run down. No boom!! I would rather glow!!
Though the reception staff is friendly and efficient, and the location is perfect, the facility is not clean. I found bathroom floors and bedding to be dirty, and the hairdryer did not function. Little bits of something adhered to the bedroom and bathroom walls. Someones old sock was left in full view on the bedroom floor.
Yes of course I understand you get what you pay for. Staff was very pleasant. However the hotel itself was terrible. Black mold all over the bathroom not a very clean room. Got the room just for the night for somewhere to sleep. Instead checked out that night and drove the hour and 15 minutes at 5 am in the morning with no sleep to go home just to get out of there. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.
This hotel was just OK. As my mother says, You get what you pay for. We wanted a cheap hotel, and thats what we got. The breakfast in the morning was a joke. No fresh fruit of any kind. The carpeted areas of the hotel where not smooth. They were squishy (?) in some places. There was no clock radio in the room. There was only one pillow per person, and one towel per person. Nothing extra in this hotel.
Desk clerks, (evening and morning), greeted me with no enthusiasm and never smiled. They acted as if they couldnt care less if I was giving them some business. The housekeeping and engineer staff were friendly. The hallway carpets are stained, worn and dirty. The bed was comfortable and there were no bedbugs. The house engineer kindly adjusted the desk light so it didnt turn off every 30 minutes, (being on a timer).
This is an old motel with dark and worn carpeting. We had a late check in and at that time there was a thick glass partition between us and the person at the front desk. Right from the start we felt this might not be a safe place. The room and towels smelled like smoke (non-smoking room) The door did not fit the door frame snug and I could see through the sides into the hallway. The door to the parking lot did not lock so we felt alittle vulnerable. We were suppose to stay 4 nights but left after one nite. The staff were friendly.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Stayed here because it was the only hotel within a 40 mile radius of Cleveland that had a room available on the 4th of August and it was absolutely disgusting. When we went to check in we were told there were no rooms available and I had to pull up the site online and start booking that way for the concierge to actually give us a room. The only rooms they had available were smoking rooms, and the room stunk like it hadn’t been cleaned it years. The room we stayed in (319) had a giant hole in the bathroom door. When I attempted to contact customer service for a refund I was refunded, then recharged the full amount and told I could receive 2000 points if I chose to accept. I then called and told the customer service rep of this, who never provided his name to me, and he continually spoke over me and spoke down to me like I was incompetent. Avoid this and all CHOICE HOTELS AT ALL COSTS!!!! Customer service 1/10 Cleanliness 0/10 definitely not worth the 150$ I paid for a night stay.
Great stay better hotel in the area . Clean nice..from day one we had mention issues with the toilet in are room . After almost a week later and numours times reporting it we had to leave for the day. We had come back to stay thinking everything was OK and peachy.the lady behind the desk tells me we were not aloud to stay anymore because of the toilet having to be pulled out because of what we did. Now I will say at least 6 to 8 times I know I had said something about it. But they are really nice rooms compared to others in the area. I just wish everyone was fluent in many different languages because when you say something and you get a yes and OK and yes they know does not mean a thing if they dont have a clue what your trying to tell them. But for the area unless you want to be harassed by cops everytime your walking or driving up montrose west then the hotels on the hill are were to be but if you get tired of being a mixed couple and pulled over everytime they see you then stay off montrose west and stay on the other side of 77.i still would say econo lodge is the place for your money. ..just wish I known I was talking to a brick wall and later I would not be able to rent again
This hotel was gross. The bathroom hadnt been cleaned in ages....dirt, hair, dust, urine spots on toilet, some type of other spot/stain on the floor by the toilet, toilet seat broken, some sort of brown substance smeared on the light switch, the tub had dirty foot prints in it. Sheets on one bed had not been changed since the last guests were there. Had to have the manager bring new sheets because there was what appeared to be a urine stain that went through the sheets clear through to the mattress. Some of the lights in the room didnt work. Lamp shades looked like they had fur because there was so much dust on them. We had a non-smoking room but there were obvious nicotine stains on stuff. We stayed there on our way home from a concert in Cleveland. Next time well spend more money and stay somewhere else. You get what you pay for.
You get what you pay for .... i`m not picky either but it was rougher than i expected. Our non-smoking room was stale and stunk like smoke, the people in the room next to ours were screaming and fighting at 2 am, the bed was sinking in the middle with sheets that kept popping off, and the air/heat unit did not work at all... luckily we only stayed one night.
I needed a inexpensive place to stay for one night. This was the cheapest place around. Not the nicest looking, smells a little, and run-down somewhat but it gave me exactly what I needed-good night sleep and a hot shower. Continental breakfast was a little skimpy. Id probably stay again if I was in the same pinch.
This place doesnt appear that great from the outside, the parking lot is in a dark area, there are no locks on the outside door to keep strangers out. Its very clear this is a party place. BUT its cheap, and the bathroom is clean. The one thing that does irk me about this is that they dont have mattress pads. The pads do not hook around the mattress. Its just a sheet on top of the bare mattress. Kind of gross considering that random people sleep on it. Another thing was that the light bulbs were out in half of the fixtures. Really? You can buy a 10 pack of light bulbs at the dollar store for like 5 bucks. Everything else was fine. The bathroom appeared clean, the 3 pillows you get on a king bed was kind of stupid, and they were very flat. Other than that there was fridge and a microwave, a hair dryer and an ironing board (with no iron). We usually come up and stay here when we hang out or go out with our friends. Its literally just a place to sleep for us. Not really a family place. Lots of partying going on in the rooms around us, BUT we could not hear anything while in our room. Another thing about the ground floor, is that you are partially underground like a basement, so your windows literally are ground level. Some may not be comfortable with that.
Entire hotel smelled of cigarette smoke. The rooms did not but hallway was just stinking. Carpeting in the hallway was terrible and needs replacement or serious shampooing. The breakfast was not good, coffee was lukewarm. The location is good with lots of restaurants nearby. TV was from the 90s.
The Econo Lodge in Akron is an economical hotel that provides what is needed in a hotel for the prudent travelers. My room had a Queen bed, a loveseat, microwave, refrigerator, TV with many channels, and a decent bath tub and rest room. Breakfast was continental style but the location was near many restaurants so I ate at Cracker Barrel. The staff was friendly and no one rushed me out of the room, which is nice. Overall I enjoyed staying there.
Our stay at this hotel was very poor and not worth the money spent. The only thing I found any good was the tub and the faucet needs to be fixed as it is hard to turn the water on for the hot tub. This place is not worth the money spent. I have plenty of photos to share on the room of this hotel including the old blood on on the walls and carpet.
We stayed in this hotel because it was a choice hotel. It is not up to the standards of other choice hotels. The king size bed was fine, but it came with 3 pillows smaller than the throw pillows I have on my couch at home. Only 2 bath towels were provided for 2 guests. The continental breakfast consisted of prepackaged muffins and bagels one would find in a vending machine and cold cereal. I am diabetic so this was not a good option for me. It would have been greatly improved with the addition of hard cooked eggs, peanut butter or cottage cheese. Our room was on the third floor and there was no elevator. We will be back in the area next year, but will not stay in this hotel.
Ive stayed here quite a few times just because of events going on near by. The halls smell horrible and of course the toilet was broken in my room and I couldnt use it. Being pregnant I need to use the restroom. Manager said he was going to come up and have a look and didnt. He waited until shift change to have someone else deal with it.
Very low budget. I was in the basement which was weird and some of the tenants live there long term. If you just want cheap in this area then this is it. Its doable but may consider upgrading a few dollars next time to find a little better place. Staff was nice though.
I got a cheap rate on this room so I booked it for a place to stay after a concert. Here are my findings:-getting my bags out of car in rear parking lot, discover a used condom on ground.-PILLOWS!! The pillows were horrible. They were literally flat as a pancake. Folded in three, still need to visit chiropractor after using.-Dont get room 211 because the water doesnt drain from shower on its own. You must hold the lever on broken drain valve to get rid of water.-the bath mat (towel) was washed but still had a blood stain on it. Gross-there are no plugs in the room. Must unplug lamp to charge cell phone. This is a cheap dump. Ill spend a little more in the future on something better.
We arrived at the hotel in Fairlawn/Akron area, we checked in and went to our room. as soon as we opened the door we were hit with an aroma of smoke in a non smoking room. since we were staying with several other families for a softball tournament we decided to go buy air fresheners for the room. This was the only overnight trip for my daughters softball team and wanted to make it special. we brought all or luggage to the room and went out for dinner since we were the only ones that arrived from the team. While we were out, we received numerous texts from the arriving players families about the condition of the rooms. There were 2 rooms that had blood on windows and in the shower, all the rooms smelled like smoke. So most of the parents decided to go to a new hotel in the area and checked out free of charge. when we got back to the room we told the clerk that our room smelled of smoke and wanted to check out with the other players families and we did. We unfortunately had to pay a cancellation fee of 34.58 because we had used a towel in the bathroom and had put drink containers in the garbage.
For the price a good deal with regards to bedding, bathroom, noise level, services etc but it was irritating to have the room lights keep going out every 15 minutes. Was told one light, next to the bed, does stay on but the others are on a time/motion detector and my friend and I had to keep getting up to get the lights back on. Complainedbut nothing was done.
Over the past several years I have had uneven experiences with EconoLodge. Some have been rather tired and not very clean. Others have been quite modern, clean, and comfortable. Based on the price of this EconoLodge, I was prepared for a below-average experience. However, the hotel exceeded my expectations in terms of appearance, cleanliness, and service. Our overnight rest was marred by the very noisy guests in the room above us, but the overall quality of the hotel was better than I had been expecting. I would return here if I needed a hotel in this area.
The place is beyond filthy. Hair and stains everywhere; on the mattress covers, pillows, even the walls. The furniture was chewed. The non smoking room was better than the smoking but still filthy. Looked like there was water damage in the ceiling. Cracked window being held closed with a stick. Just horrible. See attached pictures.
This doesnt even deserve 1 star in ma book. The rooms are clean the bathroom...yes. The toilet wobbles when your using it the shower floor creaks real loud like its about fall in. I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone in Fairlawn, Ohio. Unless you are paying for an escort.
I have stayed at many Econolodges in the past month. I was very unhappy with this one. The place smelled like mildew, the rugs were stained and the sheets and blankets had all holes in them and the bathtub looked like they tried to spray paint it. It was so bad I wanted to leave but I already paid for it and I was exhausted.DO NOT STAY HERE !!!!!The only positive thing was the staff. They were very friendly .
Front desk manager was very nice and helpfull. One Kingsize on groundfloor not available so we got a free upgrade to double Queen on groundfloor. Light works on movement even when you go to the bathroom at night, this can be a bother if the light wakes your partner up. A free breakfast but it didnt contain much.
Got two queens when we reserved a king. No towels of any sort in the room. Its a non-smoking room but its surrounded by smoking rooms so it still smells bad. Also, I hope to god thats red wine on the carpet...Edit: The main light and the bathroom light/fan are on motion sensors, which was frustrating for two reasons: 1. Any time one of us got up to use the bathroom during the night, all the lights and the loud fan turned on, waking the other up, and 2. Periodically the main light would shut off, so wed have to get up and walk to the door to turn the light back on. Stupid design is stupid.
Arguably the dirtiest hotel stay in my entire life! I stayed here because it was 3:00 in the morning and I couldnt continue driving any more. The room was dirty, smelled bad, wasnt swept, was missing items, nothing worked and on top of everything else the bathroom was disgusting as well! If ever faced with the same situation again, I will sleep in my car before stepping foot on a property like this one.
The reviews had stated how friendly the staff was and everything. I am not sure I got more than 10 words out of them between my check-in and check-out. The room had an odd smell to it and the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and one of the pillows was one a former guest had left behind (it had a name on it). Maybe due to the reviews I had my expectations set a little too high. And the tv stations they advertise on their site dont happen, such as hbo. and the program guide to the stations were not accurate.
Worst customer service ever. Ive worked in customer service all my career life and Ive never at an experience like this. When you run a business, your suppose to want customers to come back and recommend your business. When you do an unauthorized action on someone card that your suppose to ask for I.D and permission for but dont, thats not okay. The manager was the one to do so. Harry. Worst hotel stay ever. Will take my business elsewhere and you should too.
The room was disgusting. We found a receipt on the floor behind a piece of furniture from TWO YEARS AGO, along with food crumbs, etc.Two light fixtures were broken - one of them wouldnt turn on at all, and the other had a broken shade. There was no ventilation in the bathroom, and when I called to ask the front desk about this, they said it was supposed to be that way.
If youre just looking for an inexpensive place to stay for a night, then this is it. If youre looking for comfortable accommodations, keep looking. This place has extension cords running across the room to power the tv and wall lamps. The linen is questionable at best and the window AC unit is very loud.
Overall negative experience. I`m not too picky but the room was dirty & smelled of smoke and animals. The AC/Heat unit did not work so it was stale/humid all night, our bed sagged badly in the center, the people next door to us carried on and were screaming and fighting at 2am ... luckily we only stayed one night ....
It’s always easy and respectful Hassle free I stayed a lot of nights here never hade problem would like to see more on breakfast side but great choice to stay clean room don’t like no conditioner with the shampoo no toothpaste but would like to see improvement but on the up and up it’s great
Please see my comments about likes and dislikes and ratings on your scale questions. I find it peculiar that I need to reiterate my thoughts again.I am incredibly unhappy with my stay at this hotel. I would abdolutely not come back and it is highly unlikely that Id stay at any hotel under Choice Hotels brand umbrella.
Turned my 3 month old and his mother away in the rain because she didnt have my credit card and I was on my way there. I cancelled the week reservation but they proceeded to charge my card $58.67 without authorization. They did us a favor as I later learned how nasty the rooms are. Do yourself a favor and stay next door at Quality!
The check in and check out processes were very quick, and all of the staff I dealt with were very friendly and helpful. If you have serious respiratory issues, or the smell of smoke really irritates you, I would avoid this hotel, as there was still a smell of stale cigarettes, even in the non-smoking rooms.
Nothing good about this stay. Bed was not level and felt like i was sleeping upside down. Floor was uneven in some spots and some spots i thought i was going to fall threw floor. Not all outlets worked. Microwave would beep for no feason. Breakfast was old and gross.
BEDBUG INFESTATION!!!!Room was dirtyGot bitten 11 times in two different rooms!!Manager refuses to speak with me I will be calling the health departmentRefuses to launder my clothes to get the bed bugs out of my things !!Crazy this place is still in business and the front desk is no help totally ignores the fact they are letting people get fed on by PARASITIC BED BUGS !
None of the outlets worked in the room unless the light sensor by the front door had been triggered. Which timed out after 15 minutes. All of our devices were dead in the morning due to this. And when we arrived into the room there were only four pillows for the the four of us to share. And they were all thin as a sheet of paper. Our tub in the bathroom seemed like if you stepped on it wrong it would fall through the floor. Overall a bad experience. I would rate it lower if I could.
This hotel was filthy, smelly, and way below any standards a hotel should have. Bathroom was disgusting. Bed linens had holes and stains on them and hair on the pillows. The headboard fell off the wall in the middle of the night. My list of complaints is too big to put here.
The outside of the hotel is nice but the water stains on the floor by the ice machine need gone and the ice machine needs cleaned the rooms could use some touch up paint and the leather pad above the vending machines need gone and something move inviting needs to be above the vending machines
The Econolodge at Fairlawn-Copley, Ohio. Reserved this place because it was cheap and available on the requested dates. The room was smelly. The sink was cracked. The bedding sheets had stains on it. We really did not feel comfortable sleeping there. I literally had to tell the manager to put new bedding sheets before we slept there.
I dont know who designed this room, but they set it up that every single outlet in the room was wired through the motion sensor light switch right by the doorway. So the only way to get our phones and such to charge was to have someone walk by about every 15 minutes. Which when you are traveling there is no possible way to do that unless you dont want to sleep at all.
NASTY! From the rank smell when we walked in to the urine stains on the tub... after my shower I wanted to take an acid bath... the shower curtain was moldy and had black stains. The one bed had questionable stains on its comforter. Look, Id rather stay in a ally in my car knowing I might get robbed than stay here again. PLEASE RUN FAR AWAY FROM HERE
What has happened to the Choice Hotel brands? At one time, EconoLodge meant a no-frills hotel with just the basics that was clean and economical. My last few experiences with EconoLodge (and Quality Inn... which used to be a more upscale hotel) found old, tired hotels that were some other brand name that have been re-branded and remain to be old and tired. Now, when I reserve rooms through ChoiceHotels.com, I feel like I am making a roll-of-the-dice to see what I end up with when I arrive... I no longer trust the EconoLodge brand to provide a nice, economy hotel.
Very poor conditions, bathroom floor spongy, creaky and broken tiles -- felt like the floor would fall through. There were never enough towels left even after asking, mouse droppings in the drawers, only a few outlets worked so there was not enough space to plug in the lamps, refrigerator and microwave at the same time. Internet was very spotty and for the most part non-existant. No lock on the outside door, anyone can enter the building. There is no ice machine. The room and hallway were dirty and smelly.
Poor service, smells very bad and discusting, dirty carpets. I waited 15 min at the desk to get served by an employee in his smelly shirt. $50/night is highly overpriced cuz it never worth $10. Never again even if the stay is free. Stay away and dont even think about getting there.
Didnt pay attention to the notes on our reservation for extra towels and pillows. Asked and they never arrived asked for sheets for pullout bed and all we got was a blanket. A guest was pounding on our window and door and when called the front desk about it was told his wife kicked him out of the room and it was being handled. Very unprofessional.
The 2x10 wood bed frame was a nice touch. It wasnt real great to sleep on. lol It does have a lot of extras but, it is a little rough. The people in the other rooms were up till 3 am and really didnt care if others needed to go to work the next day. I guess that is the way it works when you are owed something in this world. I wont be back but, if you want cheap its your place.

2022-04-29Disgusting place. Bedsheets have at least 10 burn holes. I can hear the upstairs neighbors through the floor immediately, and they wouldnt exchange room. Advertises continental breakfast but has no breakfast. The Indian owners are stingy and don’t care about customers. Was appalled when would not change rooms. They obviously only care about money and yet won’t spend some to have what they advertise and don’t care about customers at all. Was told I would have to book another night if I wanted a different room. Whole first floor smells funky. Probably has bedbugs here. I wouldn’t stay here again. I’ve seen homeless shelters nicer and with people who care more. This place sucks

2022-06-11First night of a two night stay. The room appears clean, but smells like an old ashtray. There are burn holes in the comforter on the bed. Dresser is missing a knob, furniture is old and musty. I realize its a budget motel, but it needs upgrades.Quiet tonight, for a Friday, everything works, Nice TV.

2022-04-24The hotel was extremely clean. The clerk was very courteous. They do not serve a breakfast at this time, but the hotel is conveniently located across from a mall with Cracker Barrel & Bob Evans right outside it parking lot!

2022-04-13This was discusting. The hotel smells terrible, the people working are extremely rude, and the bed was covered in har, stains, and the blankets covered in burn marks. They refused to a refund. If I could give negative stars I would. Never again.

2021-11-29We really wanted to give this place a chance because the reviews were mixed. Its a dumpy motel, you get what you pay for. However I feel $40 was too much. Walls are super thin, flooring was put down over weak spots in floor, half-hearted on the cleaning. The halls wreak of cigarettes. Our non-smoking room had cigarette burns on the furniture. The bed creeks every time you move. Side walk and parking lot was icy. Not a place we will ever stay again.

2021-12-09Absolutely HORRIBLE, the moment I walk in the room I was met with a horrible odor along with trash on the floor and dirty pillows…. I immediately went back down to the front desk and told them I needed a better room. He then puts me in a room and before I say anything down I pulled back the covers on the bed and seen little black bugs (look like bedbugs) on the bed. I packed up my belongings and got a refund….. DO NOT GO HERE

2022-01-29Walkways was snow covered and untreated. Room I was in was very unclean and dirty. The beds are large but it like laying on a spark plug with all the static it produces with the mattress pads.
