The pictures dont do it justice. I have a really low quality phone and the sun wasnt out today. Its a beautiful Park! Its good for people who would want to walk on a path that is paved. Just go check it out you wont regret it. Make sure to explore a little bit it has some nooks and crannies that you might not notice if you dont look around real well...:)
This is a wonderful place to visit. Two parks in one. One entrance is the park with the walking, biking, and picnicking areas. te other entrance has the lake, boat launch, and lots of blue birds. We enjoy walking the park. It is clean and not overcrowded during the week. We also visited it during a foreign car show, that was fun. Great photo ops.
Visiting here evening gives you refreshing mood. Pretty cool breeze, lake side and chirping birds. Sunset is something can be seen here. The park is not that crowded and all you get is silence of mind here. The park has wide place for kids to play games, also to hangout and have picnic there. Good place for photography and to be visited with friends
We went Dayton at winter and it was too cold there with cool wind. we couldnt take many pictures bcz of that but the total scenery was amazing. too beautiful to describe. great place for fishing and family get together and bring children. there was also picnic sheds. wish to go there again at summer.
We had a photoshoot meetup here and I was Princess Jasmine. It was a really great park. While walking from the parking lot to the shelter, kids recognized who I was and started running and hugging and asking for pictures. It was endearing. ❤ I think I was stopped 4 to 5 times because the little girls found Jasmine. 😊 They would talk to me and ask questions and hug and hold my hand. I asked for pictures and they smile with me. It was just so fun. I did not expect that at all. The park had so many great areas to do a photoshoot. It has shelters with benches and there are grills you can also use. Great for family picnics and outdoor celebrations. Theres also a playground where kids would enjoy playing. 😊
Racial profiling, and class profiling by the park police. They run peoples license plates while they hike and enjoy the park......if your car doesnt look new or updated they profile you. They only want a certain kind at the park. People should be able to enjoy public spaces free of police presence.
This is a very well kept park with shelter houses, playground and hiking/biking paths. I especially enjoyed the wildlife around the Mad River. One of the nicest parks in the area. It has playground equipment, many shelter houses, a bike/walking path and is next to the Mad River which attracts much wildlife. I usually see many types of birds here. There is a nice hiking path along the River.
A Metropark that has so much to offer. From walking along the trails. Biking, jogging or just relaxing on one of the park tables. Great place to take the family and spend it outdoors. Take some food or grill while youre there. This park is a decent size and has many other things to enjoy.
Absolutely one of the greatest parks around this area. Frisbee golf. Rapids for kyacking or paddleboarding. Playground. Dog park. Trails. Covered picnic areas. Large open fields. Lake to take boats on.And the best part is the Midwest outdoor gear festival every year usually around October.
Eastwood Metropark is a very nice park to sit back and relax. They have a small pond in one section and a larger boat-friendly lake in another. You can fish, ride a bicycle on the trail that runs through the park, have picnics at one of a few shelters, bring your kids to the playground, or kayak. Generally, the place is pretty peaceful except when theres large groups or events. The park staff maintain the park quite well. Its usually free from trash. However, there are lots of geese and goose droppings here, so be careful of those. You may also want to wear bug repellent as there are often swarms of gnats and mosquitoes.
Well maintained public park with picnic shelters and tables. Bike and walking paths. Fishing, canoeing and kayaking.Water has been turned back on now that the freeze danger has passed. When we were there today, the river was very high, fast and muddy. Canoeing and kayaking would be hazardous at present. The river should go down this weekend.
Ok its a park.. But seriously its much more.. there is a huge lake!!! Hiking trails..... some really cool little bridges... the sights on the water and in the treeline that seemed to endlessly catch my eye... I made a 6 hour day of it and wasnt bored for a second.. Loads of wildlife to be seen and views to take in...
The southern half of the park is a great spot to go for a walk. From lots of little bridges, to plenty of shade and tree coverage, to quaint spots by the water, I really like this place a lot. I even used a hidden cove as the spot to propose to my (now) wife! It can be a little busy at times, but overall its a great place to go for a casual, peaceful walk. A playground and some pavilions make it a great spot for groups too!
Great place to go boating, jet skiing, tubeingOr just sitting around in the sun or under a shade tree enjoying the beautiful day on the lake. They also have a very nice park right next door thats good for taking a walk cooking out and letting them babies play and have fun on the swing sets and slides.
Had a family gathering today & it was nice. We all enjoyed the place. Its pretty right along the water.. best part. Only thing that wasnt great was the size of the grill for as many people we had & the size of the pavilion the grill should been 2x as bigBathrooms were fairly clean&decent
As a cyclist, this is a fantastic park. From here you have easy access to several great trails. The Huffman trail is on the shorter side, heading towards Fairborn and WPAFB. The Mad River trail heads downtown towards Dayton alongside its namesake. Last, you can pick up the Creekside trail towards Beavercreek and Xenia. This route has the potential to provide a 50+ mile trip out, as you can pick up trails towards Columbus, Cincinnati and Yellow Springs from Xenia.Basically, if you love cycling and want a start with decent variety, Eastwood is a solid bet.
It is always great. Bathroom doors could use locks on doors and paper towels, especially to turn water off so that you do not touch facet aging with clean hands. When we use toilet we do sometimes get urine or feces on our hand and turn on the faucet. Thank you and have a blessed day.
Beautiful park with tons of things to do. It has trails, lakes for kayaking, lakes for fishing, shelters for events, playground for the children and so much more.I recommend bringing lawn chairs if you dont plan on biking/walking on the trail and want to be secluded from everyone else.Great place for picnics or just being one with nature.
What a beautiful hidden gem this place is. A long and winding road runs through a stunning forest and field with a bike/hike trail that connects to all the area bike paths. The river runs on one side and separates this park from the lake side. This is definitely a park to come relax and play in. Well worth a visit.
This park is beautiful. Park closer to the front and walk on the trail to the end. Its a nice walk or if you have bikes a good ride. There are two playgrounds, picnic tables, grills, and bathrooms available. Its a huge park definitely give yourself some time to go through it. Theres a lot of little bridges perfect for photo backdrops. Theres also a different entrance to go to the actual lake.
Had a great time here. It was early evening we decided to take a walk before dinner with our new puppy. The puppy loved the steps going to the water and the high bridges to walk upon were great. Loved the wildlife that was around us the whole time. Great scenery experience for a new puppy.
Every time I drive by Eastwood Lake, or as I remember it being called as a kid by my parents, The Hydro-Bowl, u have to take a the few min to turn in, access take the Cruise all the way down to the very back of the lake where they tell you not to go swimming but we all know weve all been in there once or twice to swim LOL and just remember being a kid and driving down with my brothers and sisters and parents with an ice cream on a summer day come and get out and put her feet in the water, the memories this place brings to me I will hold forever I love it here its beautiful!
Loved the spot husband and kids fished at . Brought a book soaked my feet in the water . My only complaint was the trash people before us left . I filled half a trash bag cleaning us up a spot. The water didnt smell like dead fish . Security was all over the place . I believe they asked for some peoples fishing license so be sure to bring yours !
Took the kids fishing here a week or so ago and it was a great outdoor activity indeed. While we didnt catch anything (it was still very cold, used NCs), the riverbanks as well as the lake itself, swollen over and into portions of the parking lot by all the recent rain, were such neat places to explore! Almost caught a crawdad under one of the rocks on the riverbank as well. If you have kids (or dont) and are feeling cooped up right now, I highly recommend get a cheap fishing pole or 2 and getting out there. Especially with the weather warming up. It was not overly crowded at all and there is plenty of space for proper distancing and I do mean plenty! We are going back this weekend and hoping to catch something with the warmer weather!
Gem in an unexpected place, wedged between WPAFB, Rt 4 and the Riverside neighbor, this county park is an oasis with man-made lake for boating, fishing, the Mad River with a canoe and kayak launch, walking paths with bridges, and beautiful scenery. There is one entrance off of Harriman Rd for the Lake entrance and one for the Park entrance. Many birds and water fowl have been sighted, including recently an eagle.
I have come to this park for over 20 years and its as nice now as when I first started going there. Its great to take the kids to, walk your dog, ride your bike, canoe or kayak, fishing, cooking out. There are some shelters and restrooms. A lot of ducks that swim around the lagoon. Theres also a bunch of trees close to the lagoon that look great in the fall and are great for shade in the summer.
The family atmosphere is strong. Friendly people of all colors but mostly caucasian, are fun and lighthearted. You can fish , picnic, play and relax by walks in the park or on a trail through the brush. You can throw rocks in the stream, feed the fish and see turtle and tadpoles. Havent see a frog yet but may this summer.
We had an unplanned Sunday after church picnic with my kids. The place is clean. Lots of shades from trees. We saw a lot of of people biking, riding, kayaking, picnicking, and theres a playground for small kids where they can slide, do monkey bar. Great place for weekend picnic.
If youre looking for a spot to relax by the water, this is a perfect location to do so. It also has a playground that is pretty nice as well as some hiking areas. There are benches and pull-off areas to relax and a few areas that are accessible to the water to fish if thats your thing. My favorite aspect of this park is that at sunset...the colors that come across the water are beautiful and as an aspiring photographer, I love taking photos when the sun is going down over this lake!
Hate going here to fish we have tries 5 different times and never catch anything. It is not good for fishing but could be good for boating and water skiing. They have specific days where you can bring your power boats. Other days you can not and people can bring their trolling boats for fishing. I have never seen anyone catch a fish here.
4 only because most of the guys fishing from boats have zero respect for bank fisherman and some for the other boaters including kayaker here. Numerous times I am fishing from bank and boaters will run within 5 ft of my line or bobber. It is a beautiful quiet lake . I have caught large mouth bass and a 7lb channel. I always fish the north end by Stebbins HS or the. Ery south end.
The park ranger made us move after we paid for a shelter and said we were on a reserved one no one ever even cane she was harassing us. Ridiculous we had kids and a birthday party going on in 100. Degree weather unbelievable if it wasnt for the harrasement Id of given s higher star.
It is only ok ,,because I think they should dredge out the channels off Springfield street, so that the fish have deeper water to winter in,dont dredge whole thing just big area by Springfield street. It could be a nice large mouth bass fishery and would attract more anglers. And that is why it is only ok
#TeamClark decided to go hike Eastwood Park Buckeye Trail at Eastwood MetroPark today... its officially the 21st park / reserve / preserve that weve hiked in the last in 21 weeks! 😁I had absolutely no idea that Eastwood Park was so big and had so much to offer. We saw people hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing, and even doing yoga! The trail is fantastic because the first portion of it runs right along side the Little Miami River. The second portion ends up bringing you right by the beautiful bridges in the center of the park. What a great place to take photos and get a workout! (Highly recommend)Our familys goal is to hike a different park / reserve / preserve every weekend until Mother Nature makes it nearly impossible to do so!#TeamClark #familyfirst #Whatagreathike #EastwoodParkBuckeyeTrail #daytonstrong

2021-09-26Best place for a chill romantic get together, any time night or day.. open 24hours. It doesnt accommodate for beachfaring walks, as gravel is a tad rough on barefeet. But still...the sunsets are great.

2022-03-29Nice place to take a stroll. Bike trail goes right thru it so you could save on gas and bike to it. clean and well kept. Has a park that my kids love. You can fish here and walk your pup. Bring the family and have a BBQ at one of many spots or reserve a shelter house. Take a mile walk down the bike trail to woodman rd and back.

2021-07-23Really neat park along the riverfront. Plenty of green space as well as a play area. There is also a beautiful garden you can walk through and a meditation maze.
