E&H Ace Hardware in other cities:
The best hardware store anywhere in The Land. The people are the kindest and most helpful you will experience. They take care of you fast on the phone or in store. The store carries better quality items than the big box stores, with barely any price difference. They carry great seasonal merchandise. The store is clean and bright. They also have all of the hardware bits you cannot find elsewhere, brass pipe, screws, etc. Support your local business versus the corporate warehouses!
I keep seeing reviews that say this ACE has great customer service. Ive shopped there. Thats not the case. The staff is rude. Especially, if youre a younger person. Im in my 30s and I watched the cashiers attitude completely change from one customer to me. I was trying to be polite and she gave me a look of disgust. Then she immediately checked to see if my money was counterfeit. When she didnt check the previous customers bills at all and had a laugh riot with them. No wonder this store went out of business in the past.
Everytime you go on this store there lines have changed, you walk up to a counter when no other customers are around only to have a rude clerk yell and say the line starts over there,,no signs, rope areas....this has happened three times now...Lowes and home Depot are getting my money...plus they have self checkouts,I dont need rude clerks when I have one item to check out I have to go stand twenty feet back in a invisible line....
Went in to get some help with some rubber washers. I had two people digging through shelves in an instant .These guys both knew their job very well. I showed them some scraps of rubber and the one guy saysD 1 delta pack, here you go. Awesome customer service. Now compare this to home depot where there is one person working the whole place.Very nice hardware store. Thanks fellows
Couple of the more aged employees can be have the personality of 20 grit sandpaper but even they do thier best to help you, they are store employees not comedians. This place is stocked with odd items you cant find at your average Hardware store (this includes other Ace hardwares) around the area, like V-belts, pulleys, shaft retention collars and brass bushings which is super helpful. With this stock I have been able to repair so many items at a fraction of the price to replace it. This specific location is quickly becoming my favorite store.
This hardware store harkens back to the era of neighborhood hardware stores, as opposed to big box stores. I really missed it when it was temporarily closed during ownership change. When you walk in you are quickly greeted and offered assistance. I have found the employees to be much more accessible and knowledgeable than their big box counterparts. For a smaller store, this location has a large selection. Although the prices may sometimes be higher for some items, when compared to Amazon and some big box, the employee knowledge and convenient location more than makes up for it, especially if a part is needed in a pinch.
I am giving Ace a two star review because they offer their consumer very little value. The store is well designed and easy to navigate, but the prices are high. Shopping at ace is the equivalent of buying peanut butter at a gas station- it’s horribly marked up and you only do it as a last resort. Most recently, a staff member gave me an unprovoked dirty look when I walked in. Seriously?! The cashier gave off a negative vibe. If I’m at Walmart, I can deal with it because I’m (usually) paying the lowest price. If I’m paying a premium, I expect superior service. I would encourage management to reflect on what they are offering their customer. As of now, there is very little incentive for me to go back.
The staff at the Independence Ace Hardware make this store a great place to shop. They will go out of their way to help you and are always polite. I know that it may sometimes be cheaper to drive all the way to a big box hardware store but this mid size store packs pretty much everything you could need under its roof. If they dont have it in stock and you can wait a day or two theyll get it there for you. Im happy to be a regular shopper at this ACE Hardware store.
I have been patronizing this store (a lot) from the previous Owners to the new Owners. I like the proximity to my house so I dont have to go to the big box stores when I need something small and in a liitle time.I have a rewards card. Every time I buy something , they ask me for my card, and every once in a while , I receive a card in the mail offering a $5 off a prurchase of $50 or more.So then -- I want to buy some paint and take advantage of the recent $5 off card I got in the mail.I need red barn paint (price: $19.99 (why not $20?).I thought I would buy three gallons and get my $5 off --- but there was only two gallons at the store. So then I said to the cashier I might have a problem because I want 3 gallons and you only have 2 gallons but I would still like to have the $5 reward. She looks at her stock and says she only has two gallons. So I have to buy and additonal $10 of merchandise to get a $5 reward?I tell her I buy a lot from this store and I dont get much of anything back with this rewards program because most of the time I dont need to buy more than $50 worth of hardware. She said there was nothing she could do ( the company computer thing). Therefore, I would rather drive the addtional 20 minutes to go to the big box store (LOWES AND HOME DEPOT) to purchase items for less.I wish there was a lower rating than Hated It
Doing business as Ace Hardware, locally owned by the same family as Buellers grocery. This is where you go for personalized service you rarely find at the big box store. If you need to get in and out with what you need, without the hassle of roaming around aimlessly in a warehouse, this is exactly where you shoud go.

2022-07-02Larger Ace store than most in the area. Lots of DIY items, tools & nuts/bolts, and household/yard items. Employees are super helpful and ready to assist. Store has a small but full gift/oddity section. I always make sure to check out fun & interesting items every time I shop here. Oh, sign up for Ace rewards and earn $$$ to spend later, just received a $5 off coupon (spend at least $5) cant beat free $$$!

2022-02-10Good place to grab some of the odds-and-ends that you might need. Many of the staff are young, and might lack some the experience to answer questions that require certain elements of expertise. That said, most of the staff is very helpful and will eventually get you to the person, and place you need to be. Prices are a little stiff, but you’re supporting a smaller locally owned business.

2022-04-05The help is always friendly and there’s always somebody to help you. I like the convenience of a small hardware store versus a big box store where I can’t find anything.

2020-06-20Plenty of help on hand to assist you with anything you need. The manager, Michael, was very helpful too. It was nice to see him working hard while the store was very busy. I was impressed that he took the time to help/train his employees, showing them things that make them better instead of leaving that to the other employees. Seems like it would be a good place to work.

2020-02-09The store is very clean + organized. The staff was very helpful. The aisles need to be labeled better and small things like where/what number to write down on the individual screw bags needs to be clearly marked/shown. Overall a good store though not the cheapest hardware store around it is the closest to where I live.
