Great store, very friendly and helpful, can usually find things quicker and easier than the big stores
I had the pleasure of dealing with Angie when I visited this store for the first time. She was amazing! Not only was she friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable; she clearly understands what customer service is. She went above and beyond to not only solve my issue but also made me feel like a part of the family. Highly recommend.
With having keys made, precision matters.....I needed three copies of a key made, so I had it done at Walmart on a recent visit since I was already there for other things. Long story short, the keys as cut did not work, I took the keys back, had them re-cut, and they still did not work! I paid almost twice as much at Ace ($9-something with tax for three keys), but they all work and no more running around to have them recut.The machine they use at Ace has a scanner that scans the key and then when the key is finished, they scan the new key and the program compares the scan of the duplicate to the original. Helps ensure you get a key that will work and all three of mine worked!It should be noted that Ive had a number of friends who indicated that they had similar problems at Lowes as I did at Walmart, so not all hardware stores are the same when it comes to making keys. I highly recommend this Ace Hardware location for your key making needs!

My first trip of the day was great. The staff was very helpful. The only problem on the second trip was the checkout clerk who made no effort to put his face covering over his nose...and it barely covered his mouth. I felt very uncomfortable in that situation.

This is a very convenient place to get quick hardware needs. This is not as epic as some well known larger stores but the smaller size is an advantage many times. When I am in the middle of a job and want to save time I usually find what I need and the prices are reasonable as well. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
I called the Hilliard Rome store and spoke to Huck. He could not have been more polite or helpful! I was inquiring about milk paint, and he actually took the time to listen to my project. He knew the name of the techniques I was looking to do. He even suggested that I called another store and talk to them, because he didnt think I needed to do all the steps or use special paint to do it. Thanks to Huck Im saving time and money, plus Im using supplies I already had at home. He is one of the best salesperson I know, you are so lucky to have him working at your store Please keep him, because he will be the person I wish to speak to from now on!

I love the customer service here. Often I find myself relying on the more mature and knowledgeable staff to help me figure what I need for various home improvement projects Ive done around the house.The store is clean and organized so I can find what I need quickly and they often run great sales. Take advantage of their buyer rewards program. Its saved me a lot and they even found a receipt I lost once because they could look it up on my account.
Kudos to the great staff. Dean, the manager even delivered me a product I needed to my store when I was too pressed for time to stop in! I highly recommend this store. The selection is awesome too. I don’t have to wander for two hours in Home Depot anymore to find what I want.
I like this place because they had a part for a weed eater that the maker of the weed eater didnt know it was the replacement part. Dont want to tell on the company worker but the company has three letters in name and start with E
Ace is the place for the helping Hardware man/woman! If you want to get in and out and make sure you get the right items the first trip, Ace is the best place to go. You may pay a few $ more or have less options on tools, but its worth the expert advice for me.

I love hardware stores. I could spend hours perusing the shelves. However, I was on a mission to find caps for electrical outlets to keep little finger from getting sparked. I couldnt find them where I thought they would be displayed so asked for assistance and the gentleman gladly showed me where they were - in the home safety area.
Staff was friendly and very helpful. Even helped me price-shop around the store to make sure I had the best choices for various items. Good for any of your household or automotive hardware needs!
I searched out an Ace hardware because they are generally reliable for making copies of keys. The gentleman behind the counter took both of the keys I needed copies of, usually the employee takes them one at a time to not get them confused. When I pointed this out, he marked one of the keys. He definitely did not seem to know what he was doing and needed to call someone over to help. All this was fine. I am patient, I get it. But then when the copies were finally handed over to me, he didnt know which copy belonged to which master. I had waited 15 minutes already and said I would go somewhere else (now doubtful of this store to make a proper copy.) He tossed my keys aside and said fine. I was totally ok with the entire situation until now! Just apologize.
I went in trying to find a replacement cord for my air conditioner, which had been savaged by a bunny. I found electrical, then asked an employee for help. She wasnt quite sure, so she called another person. He wasnt quite sure, so he called another. Soon the department specialist was called and we all discuss the options and drawbacks of various ways and cord sizes. I picked one that would work, and I was given a military discount at the register by a friendly salesperson. All this took about ten minutes, and the product recommended wasnt the most expensive, but it was an easy repair that, thanks to the advice I was given, took about as long as the store visit. Great service!! Thanks everyone!!
Very good experience! I first stopped at Home Depot and Lowes, but I wont make that mistake again. Mike at Ace took time to really help. I brought in a difficult issue, and although we couldnt resolve it, he really tried to fix it and ultimately got me to an answer. Thank you so much!
A really great place to go, for help with a project. I had drawer. I needed to put together. They helped select the right screws and even assisted putting it together. Nice staff, of knowledgeable well trained people.
I waited at the service desk for 10 minutes while workers were all around the store, waiting to drop off a screen door to be repaired. I was told that a specific price estimate could not be given (but around $30-$35) but I was comforted by the fact Roush Hardware in Dublin already said $25-$30.The screen was fixed fast and done right but the bill was $50! The whole frame and price new is $75. Unbelievable. Call me if it would be significantly higher than a guesstimate and I would pick it up and take it elsewhere. I only took it here because it was closer. And it took 3 sales people to check me out because they didn’t know how to ring up a service charge. I will never be back for a repair or anything else here at this location. Tried and true Roush Hardware in Dublin from now on, which also has far superior service!

Dean is one hell of a manager for this location!! I needed an Echo item and he didn’t have it in stock. He said give me two hours and I’ll have it for. Needless to say I found my new Echo dealer today. The big box Orange store was telling me two weeks for the same item because they didn’t even have it either. Dean thank you for the outstanding customer service today.
Just moved to Hilliard and already miss my Ace in New Albany. No one says hello in Hilliard and no one asks if you need help. I will take the longer route to Lowes.
Steam mop? $44. Traeger grill? $1200. Can of paint? $11. Employees that put forth genuine effort to help you out? Priceless.
Dont trust their online inventory. It just means they might have one in a warehouse somewhere and can get it to you in a few days when it says available for pickup today. Prices are also very high. Just go to Menards, it is only a mile or 2 away.
For a smaller hardware store, their selection was alright. I needed some new door knobs and locks and Ace did not have what I needed. Their staff were extremely helpful, trying to find anything in their inventory, or at another Ace, that would help me.

I needed replacement light sets for my Xmas village house set last Christmas l went on line and they were the only place that could get them for me they were out of stock and it only took me a week to have them shipped to store then to top it my light sets were cheaper. than it showed online l have shopped at this store 3 times this year so far and always got.good.service and help when l needed it.

Id like to give this location 5 stars however the older lady who works the check out register is extremely rude and behaves as if the customers are inconveniencing her when we check out. Ive had this happen to me, so has my family members and Ive witnessed it happen to other customers too.
A friendly neighborhood hardware store that Id rather visit as opposed to one of the bigger chain stores. They have a good selection and their prices are fair.

This great Ace store is truly amazing.Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable.Great prime location.Younger staff though I was amazed at how smart they are.As other posts suggests non sale prices may be on the higher end but Im totally ok with that because of the quality, selection and expert advice.Its by no means a large supply house or lumber store but in the own right they have a lot of stuff that bigger outlets dont have.This is the place when you want to keep something and actually fix it with what is needed (not having to buy more than you need to fix it)Various fasteners, hardware, seals, speciality items.Its also nice that the size of the store is small but has so much stuff!
This location is convenient, but the prices are through the roof!!! I bought an 8 foot step latter here for roughly $60. Later that day I found the same latter at target for nearly half the price

This store that we have previously supported with our patronage was also the pick up location for a u-haul we were trying to rent. We arrived on time and were instructed to go inside to get the key. Unfortunately there was something wrong with the process and the store was closed. However, an employee of this store was there and closing up. Instead of getting the key he told us to contact u-haul. Simple fix, right? Wrong. This associate could have saved us a headache by taking 5 extra minutes to get us the key. I will no longer shop at this store ever again. Home depot and Lowes are not that far. Absolutely disappointed.

Pretty decent store for an Ace Hardware. The staff was very helpful. Prices are a tad high, but I would rather spend my money at Ace instead of HD or Lowes any day.

Great service. Bought a dremel and was accidently sold a box without one bc it was used as the display. Went back and explained what happend and gave the receipt and they got my dremel and compensated me $10 for having to go back and I didnt even ask! Made a human mistake and went above to fix it

One of the worst Ace Hardware is I’ve been to every time I go in there they never have what I need but they carry plumbing items that are in maybe 1 to 5% of homes and are not needed on the shelves. Not sure who the purchasing manager He’s definitely lacking
This store has no way of running Chip cards manually and announce that your cars has been declined to the entire store. Overpriced anyway, going to Lowes.

2022-05-11I went in to buy some dirt for potting I paid and was looking around the store with my kids and husband the older man asked if we needed help finding anything and we said no thank you then he asked if we were their to purchase some more children and my husband told him he shouldn’t say that and the employee responded with mockingly saying “I guess your happy with the ones you do have “ , I had other things in my cart and left empty handed I just wanted to get out of their , my kids were not running around we were just browsing and buying things to garden as a family together and we left feeling so awful, I did not go off on the guy because I don’t want my little ones knowing what racism feels like their are far too young to even understand

2022-02-06E&H Ace Hardware truly exhibits the ethics of a neighborhood hardware store. When my neighborhood Ace in Upper Arlington refused to take a return on an unopened generator I purchased from them, even after speaking directly with the owner of the store, I called E&H Ace and they honored the return to their store in Hilliard, no questions asked. Good to know there are still honest businesses that work for customer trust and loyalty. You guys are the real deal! Thanks.

2022-03-26Worst customer service I’ve ever had. The “manager”, whom goes by the name of ‘Bob’, is the most rude, arrogant, egotistical person ive ever come across. Very rude and condescending to staff as well. Very embarrassing to see someone so unprofessional being in charge of a supposed “helpful place”. Will not be back.

2021-10-25I highly recommend this place for finding the exact nuts and bolts you need. This area is highly organized and there is a large selection. They even have some pretty obscure fasteners here.

Not only will the manager (Robert Thomas), treat you unfairly, talk down to you and all of his employees, cuss you out (then fire you), but they will also try to not give you your last paycheck after being wrongfully terminated. This company does not care about its employees.

2021-11-28Good location, not enough inventory, they offer chip car keys cutting but it took 3 months to get the right part, every time they order the key they end up with the fob, finally they got it, hope they will be able to program it.

2019-04-12Went to the back of the store to the service desk and the salesman help me find what I needed. Was a great deal for a 2 pk. vacuum belt and it was the last one. Check out at the front of the store was excellent the man was very nice. I will be back again.
