Very nice hotel at a reasonable price. The building is beautiful (the former Board of Education building built in 1931) and the interior has been completely restored and/or updated. Rooms were spacious and clean, and they offer free breakfast AND an evening snack which for many was substantial enough to be dinner. I would definitely stay here again.
Loved our stay!! Great location! Wonderful breakfast and evening drinks and apps, which was really like a dinner! Fresh popcorn daily! The valets were great, parking on property is highly suggested!! Also, when I tell you this hotel smells wonderful, it really does! Every floor is so clean!! Thank you for a great stay!!
Positive: The hotel was very clean and we really enjoyed the breakfast and the appetizer drink specials at night. We also ate at the teachers lounge which was very good. The staff there was especially nice and told us how to get to the Warehouse Area. Negative: No complaints at all!
The hotel was amazing. The staff was super helpful and kind. the hotel pool and spa was clean and they had towels. The kick back was super delicious and many choices you can choose from and its all you can eat. You also get three adult beverage for free. The beds were comfortable and the room had tons for space. In the future i will be booking this hotel again.
Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Rooms are clean and love the dinner and breakfast amenity. I give it 1 star because of the pool. Unable to use pool or jacuzzi due to overcrowding with children the entire stay. Parents should monitor and control their children. Unfair to others staying at hotel. Hotel unable to control. This amenity is why i chose this hotel originally. Might not come again.
Positive: Rooms are very large....Marble hall ways are extremely wide (converted from historic Cleveland Board of Education bldg built in 1930). An excellent location overlooking the central mall downtown. Beautiful space, open air, lake views nearby. Safe, secure Negative: no chaise lounges in the pool area... valet parking exorbitant at $38 per night. Bring it down to under $30?
Isis helped me out really well when I first arrived and their were three nice ladies that worked breakfast who was really friendly and the other desk ladies I had can’t remember names helped me out really well I just loved my stay over all the pool and jacuzzi was nice and I loved my the rooms I had because I stayed two nice first time I had a king suite then a king room I will be back many more times in more! Can’t forget breakfast and kickback lunch was great. I feel I left things out but just come and stay and check it out for yourself….
Positive: Beautiful historic building, centrally located. Rooms with high ceilings and lots of space. The breakfast, included in the rate was great! A cook was constantly scrambling up fresh eggs, and making pancakes to keep the trays full¿¿really nice. Negative: No.
Positive: This hotel staff is the best I have ever had at a hotel. Very nice and very helpful. The food was great and all free with the room!! Again from the valet to the manager an awesome staff! Negative: There is two negatives with this hotel. The hotel has concrete walls when a door is shut you hear it throughout the hotel. So was woke up all night long with doors being shut. Smoke alarm where you sleep flashes constantly like a strobe light. Rough sleep
The staff was very friendly. The rates are very reasonable plus they have a nice spread for breakfast and dinner. It is very close to the basketball arena. The rooms were very big and the building is very beautiful. It may have been an office building at one time, because the hallway were quite wide and the ceilings were over 10 feet.
This was the worst experience at a pricey hotel, room wasnt that clean there was a dance competition and kids were all over the hotel they took over the pool and hot tub for over 5 hours you couldnt even walk in there. Go to have a drink at the bar at 9 kids in there with their parents. Doors slamming, manager at night wouldnt do anything if it wasnt for the money I paid already I would have left. So much for a nice relaxing Saturday for my husband birthday. I will never stay here again.
Positive: Definitely enjoyed the location, the breakfast and dinner. That was a great complimentary thing that the hotel does for its guests. Negative: When we checked in we were informed that there was a power outage the day before and that the pool was closed because of that. Kids were bummed since that was the main reason for picking that hotel downtown. It was open the 2nd evening that we were ther
This is honestly one of my fav places to stay in the Midwest. It hits the very sweetest of sweet spots combining laid-back atmosphere with luxurious amenities. The staff are as personable as they are professional. The rooms are commodious and well-appointed. If free breakfast, free drinks (3 per day!), and free happy-hour food dont make you happy, try the location within walking distance of everywhere worth walking to in downtown Cleveland. High ceilings, marble columns, and WPA-era murals complete the impression that youve landed somewhere really special.
Positive: Check in was a bit dicey but after the check in experience, we had a great stay. The free breakfast and kick back in the evening was a great amenity. You cant beat the location and the rooms were lovely. Negative: We had a difficult time with check in, there was confusion as we were checking in as two couples with different rooms. It caused some confusion and took longer than anticipated, after a long drive it was disappointing but after check-in it was great!
Positive: Excellent location. Spacious rooms. Good breakfast. Negative: I was disappointed to realize, after waking up, that whoever made the beds put the sheet on the top and comforter on the bottom, so we essentially slept with comforters against our skin that I¿m certain don¿t get washed regularly.
Positive: Great location, spacious rooms, iconic architecture of an old building turned into a hotel. Negative: All stone/marble interior makes it very loud, especially on the 2nd floor. Noise from lobby carries over the open balcony. Not a deal breaker but would suggest rooms on a higher floor.
Positive: Parking was close and convenient. Staff is friendly. The room was clean and spacious. I love the charm of the historical building. The in house restaurant is open until 11 pm on a Sunday, prices are fair, and the menu is nice. Definitely will stay again. Negative: Nothing negative about this hotel.
We loved our time at the hotel. Despite a power outage and pool maintenance which required us to vacate the pool area and caused my toddlers complete meltdown, we loved it. The breakfast and dinner buffet were game changers. If were ever back in Cleveland for another visit, I would return here.
I booked this hotel for a birthday milestone. Stayed at the hyatt Renaissance and Hilton and had great quality experiences. The Drury was priced in the same range and located a few steps within each other so I assumed my stay would be comparable. I was wrong. Deeply disappointed that I read the reviews and believed it to be an upscale hotel. Perhaps it used to be. The bones are still good however the climate is different here than the other aforementioned hotels. The room was smaller than the others yet the ceiling was higher which promoted a roomy feel. The decor was on point. The hallway on the 3rd floor was marble so footsteps, wheels from luggage, doors slamming, and conversations being had all echoed and could be heard from my room. The valet staff was excellent and friendly (Cameron), the same for the front desk (petite Asian American male). The service in the bar/Teachers Lounge Chelsea was substandard, unfriendly, and s-l-o-w. Maybe she was tired or having a bad day though. The pool and hot tub area looked to be fun. Of course it was overrun by kids with flotation devices so not much adult time to relax and unwind. The atmosphere although a well appointed hotel was not a decent place to stay. The people are what makes the place right? Seems the climate is guests with very little to nil etiquette due to being loud and rowdy in common areas with each other and phone calls as though it was a backyard BBQ instead of the inside of a hotel. Unfortunately parents didnt even seem to want to be bothered with their children whom are left unattended. I did call the front desk as this experience was truly ghetto but was told this is a family hotel and is advertised as such. Maybe a Drury outside of downtown Cleveland would not be substandard with staffing issues but at this point in time Id rather take my dollars to the Hyatt, Renaissance, or Hilton hotels. This stay I would surmise would be comparable to a motor inn, kings inn, or any generic property you would pass on the side of the road that simply read MOTEL.
Absolutely in love with this place! The interior was absolutely beautiful! I love how they paid homage to the fact that it used to be the ohio state bord of education. The teachers lounge especially fit the theme. I had a mocktail when I was there and it was great. Rooms were super clean, and the elevator required a guest key to access upper floors. Best hotel I have seen as of yet.
NO FREE PARKING, if you want to park your car they dont have any. You do have 3 choices tho. 1 park across the street for about $29 per night. 2 park on a meter on the street, bring lots of $0.25. 3 is Valet packing for $34 per night and if you forget something in your car you cant get it. Must let valet know what you need and hell go get it, also valet will get your car every time you need to leave .. In my opinion, there is parking but youll pay a lot. Im used to free parking
Positive: The hotel location was great, beds were very comfortable, room was large and clean, free breakfast and dinner were great and hot tub was nice Negative: I didn¿t like how cold the pool was as it was uncomfortable to even put your feet in. I did not like paying for valet then having to walk through snow with luggage to get our car. If it was a risk to get cars then we should have been offered a refund
I was there for the Women in CyberSecurity conference 3/2022. This was my first experience at a Drury hotel. The building alnd decor was beautiful. The rooms were huge, we had a double queen room. Bathroom was larger than a standard hotel bathroom. Amazing Customer service. Great location, right across the street from the convention center. The best parts were the hot breakfast that was very good and in the evenings from 5:30-7p there was a happy hour where you were able to get 3 free drinks (mixed drinks from the menu, beer and wine) and I thought it would be simple appetizers but there was a small hot buffet with soup, salad, hot dogs, nachos, and a few main entrees. I used to be Hilton only now I am looking for Drury hotels everywhere I travel.
Positive: Staff was very friendly and the room very clean. Negative: Unfortunately, it was a weekend full of cheerleader families. That being said, the free appetizers & drinks area was like a shark frenzy. Not quite what we expected. So we chose go pay for drinks. I suggest have a separate room for a crowd like that.
I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend here. The hotel was very clean. The staff were polite and professional. The free breakfast and dinner were both pretty good. The Teachers Lounge inside the hotel has some good burgers too. The free alcohol was okay, although most of the liquor they had, I dont drink anyway. I went with wine and it was fine. This hotel is pretty much in the center of downtown so you can walk to sightsee and take pictures, especially in the winter. Its also a short walking distance from the casino and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum. I definitely will be coming back again.
From time pulled up, to this present moment it’s been an excellent time here. We got free drinks , free snacks could be used as a dinner. Breakfast choices have been great! The staff has been great. I would recommend this hotel anytime any day. It’s worth the money. The valet parking is is good choice and fast service. This hotel keeps it’s word to the review. We went to rock n roll hall of fame. It’s walking distance if not a cold, windy day but had parking options close by. Overall experience had been a pleasant and loved every minute. Thank you. Will be returning next time come to Cleveland.
Very nice hotel in a good location. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was well kept and our room was spacious. The bed was the most comfortable I’ve experienced in a hotel. Great views from our window. We were really impressed with the free breakfast and dinner/happy hour. Definitely worth every penny to stay here. There’s a lot of little things to see and do within walking distance of the hotel.
Beautifully restored historic building, very nice rooms. Free breakfast has everything you could want and more (and very popular...see photo). Only complaint is that if you self park, entrance to the lobby from the west is key card only....but usually you park before you check in. Front desk is right there, they need to get a system to buzz you in.
We booked a last minute reservation because we needed to avoid the Lake Avenue closure in Lakewood Ohio due to the Cleveland Marathon. What an amazing delight. The hotel design and renovation is spectacular. The staff and amenities were superb. The free dinner and breakfast were perfect for us ( since we live in Cleveland we can always go out for fancy dinners ) and our 2 year old grand daughter. I can honestly say I would recommend this venue in the future for our out of town guests. Only sad we didnt get to use the beautiful pool since we didnt plan ahead.
Former board of education building built in 1931 beautifully restored and preserved in 2014. Located in downtown Cleveland within walking distance of the rock and roll hall of fame and the Cleveland Browns stadium..Comfortable cozy rooms, free breakfast and daily appetizers. Will definitely return in the future
We had an amazing time at this hotel. The customer service was on point- the managers were active in ensuring each guest was satisfied. The 530 kickback was something we’ve never experienced at a hotel and it was worth the stay just for that! Close to everything! Thank you to the entire staff for making us feel so welcome! Vallet service was amazing!
I cannot say enough about how amazing all the staff was! They were so friendly and really funny! The free hot breakfast buffet and free dinner and drinks were awesome! Even my kids who are picky eaters found stuff to eat. The only downside is the parking, really the only option is valet, but honestly having two free meals a day and the great staff made up for it! We will for sure stay here again! The location is also great! Lots to do within walking distance and so much stuff just a short drive. We did the zoo and botanical gardens and it was really close by.
1st of 3 nights here and very impressed with staff and accommodations..They have an awesome happy hr.with a buffet that changes nightly and 3 free drinks are included per person plus a free Breakfast also a late night option for food till 12 am daily and 11 pm on Sundays called the Teachers Lounge..
This is one of the best hotels Ive ever had the pleasure of staying at. Not only is it in a very beautiful well maintained historical building but everything was great from start to finish. The staff was kind, professional, and very helpful. The entire place was impeccably clean. The complimentary happy hour in the evening with food and drinks was excellent and complimentary breakfast was very good as well. Again highest praise for this hotel, I would stay again in a heartbeat.
The hotel was beautiful, very clean and the staff was amazing. We really enjoyed our stay, the valet service was such a plus. You can go out or eat right at the hotel! The room was beautiful and so clean, very roomy and comfortable beds. The view was amazing. Nothing bad to say about it at all!!
Stayed here for a week with my girlfriend and we had a great time. The room was beautiful. Comfortable bed and more. Great breakfast in the morning and great dinner at night. Laundry room was useful, pool and hot tub were great. Ill never stay at another hotel in Cleveland.
Great stay! Super accommodating and friendly staff. They are all very kind and thoughtful. You didn’t pass a staff member without them saying HI!They offer breakfast and lunch is included for guests and they offer you (if of age) three complimentary drinks per night at their lounge. Beds were extremely comfortable, showers are wonderful. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.
Positive: Beautiful building. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for walking distance to both Progressive Field and the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Valets were great. Breakfast was very good, one of the better complimentary Ive had. Negative: Nothing. One of my best hotel experiences in a long time.
What an experience. BEAUTIFUL restoration of the former Department of Education building. Incredible architectural details. Rooms are nice, fun views, personable staff, they offer free drinks for happy hour and a good breakfast. We absolutely will be staying here again.
All the good reviews of this hotel are correct! My girlfriend and I travelled here from Cincinnati for a weekend getaway, and we had the best time. The amenities they give you are pretty stunning: free breakfast with lots of options, free hot food throughout the day, and THREE FREE drinks from the bar PER NIGHT, available 5:30pm - 7pm. All staff were incredibly nice; special shout-out to Seth who made us feel very at home, and conversed with us each morning at breakfast. Also, we accidentally left an item in the restaurant overnight, and the staff worked extra hard to check the entire area for us. They found it, and returned it to our room while we were away. Pool and hot tub are nice, room was very nice as well. The building is very historic and in a great part of downtown Cleveland. Be aware your only option with parking is valet, which costs extra, but the valet staff were always on time and friendly. Also, this is probably for the best, because nobody wants to spend a lot of time looking for overnight parking that’s safe and easily accessible in a downtown area. When we come back to Cleveland, we’ll be staying here again no questions asked!
Ann and Darius Nassar we stayed at the Drury Hotel on January 24,25,26 ,2022 in room 419 for the first time and it was of the best experience from the front desk to our room to the dining room I will come back to stay there every time I come to Cleveland,Ohio and I will tell all of my friends about the great experience me and my husband had ,Also Angela at the front desk really comfort me after coming from my grandmother funeral and there’s a young man that’s wear a red hat in the dining room was super great. Once again thank you for having wonderful staff working at the Drury Hotel . Thank you Ann Nassar all the way from Charlotte, North Carolina
Very nice hotel. Staff is super friendly. Breakfast is really good not your average hotel breakfast. The 530 meal is decent as long as you arent wanting a really nice fancy dinner. The hotel manager (didnt catch his name) was super great. Very attentive and friendly. I saw him mixing drinks for customers, bussing tables, greeting guests, basically whatever he could do to help. Excellent visit. Thank you.
I wish I could give -1/0 for this hotel. Everything is fine when for the stay; but the worst valet and management I’ve ever seen. I have my car valet for a night; and my money which was about 150 dollars are gone. After I told the front desk to ask I with the valet guy. They said the valet is not managed by the hotel so I need to wait till 2pm go get the message back from the manager of the valet team that day. However, I got nothing since then. I think they just treat this like nothing but a small lost. NEVER GO TO THIS HOTEL AND DO NOT VALET YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!
Beautiful historic hotel in a quiet area thats still close enough to walk to the sports arenas, the water, or some great bars and eateries. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, and the shower was large.Upon checking-in was surprised to learn not only was breakfast included in the rate, but dinner was as well, plus 3 drink tickets per person. The dinner offering was pretty basic though - hot dogs, corn chips with melted cheese, chicken pieces, and vegetables. The alcohol was also limited, as expected. So we went out instead.
Positive: The staff were excellent. I appreciated the presence of managers at both meals to make sure things stayed clean and that health guidelines were being followed. When we checked in, there was a problem with our room, and the manager corrected it quickly. Negative: When we booked the hotel, there were no obvious warnings about the lack of parking - as a result, we had to pay over $30 for valet. There should have been a notation, as it made the hotel stay more expensive. Also, our non-smoking room smelled of tobacco
We stayed here after an afternoon Browns game. The hotel used to be the Cleveland Board of Education building, but you would never know. Decorated beautifully and the staff was extra friendly, they all wear Browns gear on game days. The hot free breakfast was awesome and the nightly kickback was something you rarely get at a nice downtown hotel. Its pretty much free dinner and 3 free drinks. 10 minute walk to the stadium, this is the place to stay in Cleveland, especially if youre attending a Browns game. Valet is the only option and its $32, but that is to be expected at any Downtown Hotel, in any city. Dont forget to tip your valet guys, they work hard running at top speed to retrieve your vehicle.
This hotel was amazing 👏 very clean and very friendly. Our room was very spacious and the view was phenomenal. We could see tower city and the key bank building. Breakfast was decent, just wish they had non pork meat options. The kickback with complimentary drinks was a huge hit. We especially love the small bar/lounge right on the main floor, very convenient. We had a minor issue that was quickly resolved by the manager, she was very attentive all weekend. We will be back very soon.
Positive: Location was awesome! Just make sure you pay attention to street signs when on foot so you dont walk too far in the wrong direction if first time in the area. (9th East St vs. 9th West St.) The free drinks and food were nice perks. The staff were lovely! Negative: Not one thing!!!
I think everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves. I was disappointed that my room(448) did not get cleaned at all. I was asked and requested a 2pm cleaning at checkin. The young lady that was cleaning our floor did ask, early on the second day, if we wanted our towels replaced. I thought she would come back around 2pm. She did not. She seemed nice though.
Positive: I couldnt be more pleased with this hotel! The front desk lady went out of her way to help and she was SO genuine and kind. Great location to walk downtown. The dining guy, made it a point to talk to us and ask if he could get us anything. Negative: Nothing negative at all! Excellent service, location, and food!
Hello I booked a room for two nights $554 HERE CHECK IN AROUND 3PM - 315PM THE LOBBY WAS PACK WITH GUEST. PROCEEDED TO THE ROOM. MY FAMILY AND I WAS CALM ON THE WAY OUT WE GOT STUCK ON THE ELEVATOR. 40MINS WAIT CLEVELAND FIRE DEPARTMENT RESCED US OUT. NO REFUND NO CALL AND CHARGE EXTRA $100 FOR CANCELING MY NIGHT.
Positive: The biggest reason to stay - is that every day (including weekends) they hosted a happy hour. It comes with food (which could easily work as dinner - baked potatoes, mixed veggies, pulled pork, nachos, hot dogs) and two free drinks per hotel guest. Negative: Not much alternate parking in the vicinity (basically, you need to use their valet service). Not a lot of cutting edge amenities in the room.
It was a little slow checking in, but its been a pleasant experience so far. The hotel is clean and they are good about making sure masks are on. The pool guy was good at monitoring the pool capacity. But happy hour from 5:30-7 ... free food and 3 free drinks. Not mad at that! And free breakfast!
Theresa at the front desk was great. Great stay, cleanliness of room was an issue. A prescription pill was on the bed upon arrival and hair in the sink. The free meals were good although they ran out of certain foods so get there early. Staff was friendly. Pet friendly venue was great as well.
Enjoyed every minute at this hotel. Traveled from Indianapolis to attend the Indians game. Hotel was charming and full of character. The kickbacks and breakfast was a nice surprise. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Seth (manager) made sure to check in with us each morning and evening, gave us great recommendations and made us feel like family by the end of our stay. A very enjoyable experience and weekend. Thanks, Seth and staff!
Everyone was very friendly and upbeat, as well as helpful, here. We liked the room? Plus they have a small pool only 4ft deep, but perfect for our little kiddos. Plus they had a kitchen area where you could get small complimentary dinner foods as well a 3 complimentary adult beverages per adult! U would definitely stay here again!
This hotel was absolutely amazing. We got to check in early and was surprised by the size of the room. The location is ideal as well. 10 minutes from the Hard Rock Hall of Fame and there are parks/grass greenery surronding it. 4th ave is also 10 minutes away. We didnt valet but found underground parking for $25/n at the sp parking garage right behind the hotel.During check in they also surprised us by letting us know there was complimentary dinner (pulled pork, hot dogs, beans, chili, nachos, salad, baked potatoes) and 3 free drinks!!! They also had complimentary breakfast from 6 to 9 but didnt wake up in time for that. The staff we really nice as well. They have a heated pool and hot tub on the basement floor. All in all this place was awesome and i would definitely recommend it
Couldnt be any happier with my hotel choice on my trip to Cleveland. The location is great and the hotel is beautiful! On top of that you get a lot with your stay. Free breakfast, 3 free drinks at 5:30 every night, and free dinner too! Talk about a good deal! And theres a full bar if you want a little more right in the lobby. If Im ever back in Cleveland I know where Ill be staying!
I wish I could give this 5 stars. I was so excited to take my husband here for our 13 year anniversary. Our first night was amazing. Then night 2, on a Sunday night, the room next to us had several people in it, they were extremely loud. Finally at 2 it got quite. At 4am, it got extremely loud with screaming, fighting, and just insane amount of noise. After listening to this for 30 minutes again, we packed up and left. We were extremely disappointed that an amazing hotel like this, would let this happen! Will not be booking there again!
Pros- great hotel loved the amenities they offer. Breakfast and the kickback was good, the hotel itself is beautiful and room are huge and comfy. The staff is friendly and very attentive.Cons- VERY VERY LOUD!!! We were on the main floor and geez is was terrible. Kept us up all night our first night there was people screaming in the lobby from 12:30am till almost 2:30am and the second night all we heard were people slamming doors, people clapping and for some reason music was blaring in the hallways. I have video on my phone of me sitting in bed and you can hear the noise clear at day at midnight! They make you read these policies when checking in and one of the things is quiet time starting at 10pm well that was NEVER enforced. Also there was a really large family that came to the pool and the parents had no control over their kids there probably was 12 plus people mainly kids jammed into the Hot tub at one point so my husband and I decided to leave they were rough housing and doing back flips in the pool running around not caring about the other guests. There was about five other families who were also there that had the same issues. I feel like instead of the guy sitting outside the door supervising maybe coming inside and making sure other guests are following the rules that are set in place for a reason.Overall I absolutely love the Drury...we often opt to stay there if there is one where we are going...we have been to several across the U.S. and we haven’t had ANY issues before. But for as much as we paid nearly $450 for two nights...I wouldn’t stay here again. The noisekept me up for TWO nights and with three children it turned our relaxing weekend into a draining exhausting weekend!
It is a very nice hotel with nice big rooms and huge bathrooms. The rooms were perfect. No complaints. We stayed for two nights and the entire stay was a great experience from the beautiful building to the nice and friendly staff with two exceptions. The valets in the afternoon and evening were really cool and friendly except for when we got our car this morning. Rude would be an understatement. They guy didn’t say anything to us as he took our ticket or as he gave us our keys. The breakfast was great and the women serving it were very nice and we’re putting smile on every ones faces as they passed through. On the first night we decided to go to the 5:30 kick back and grab some food. Both of the guys serving the food were rude. They just stared at us and we felt bad for wanting some food. They didn’t say a single word or smile once during that exchange. Those two, especially the first that was serving the food should not be in hospitality. Other than that, it was a great stay and we might stay here again in the future.
Positive: I liked the character and history of the building! We also loved the pool and the plaza out front to stroll in the evening. Negative: The hallways are beautiful and marble, but that means echoing screaming children at 6am. Not really the hotels part, but if I want guaranteed sleep for my next hotel visit, I might consider another hotel.
Beautiful interior, spacious rooms with high ceilings, and one of the comfiest mattresses Ive ever experienced in a hotel. We enjoyed the hot tub, as well as the food from the Teachers Lounge restaurant in the lobby.I recommend parking in the lot directly across from the entrance rather than doing the more expensive valet parking.Would definitely stay again!
This was my first time staying here and it was amazing. The building is well maintained, the staff were all extremely friendly and the room was fantastic. Its in a great location for our activities and it was a fantastic value. With the evening snacks/drinks plus breakfast, it was the perfect girls staycation.
We absolutely loved the Drury Hotel. We had a short stay, but in that time all of the staff was amazing. We enjoyed the kickback which had chicken and beef tacos, Mexican rice, and black beans, as well as three free mixed drinks or beer. We enjoyed two days of breakfast; scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, cheese, biscuits and sausage gravy or raisin brand and lucky charms. The pools is massive and the hot tub is superb. The teachers lounge also have delicious food! Our room was huge, with a lovely closet, a giant bathroom, the view was spectacular and the king was so dreamy! We will definitely be back next year for a long vacation. We had a great time and appreciated the staff and their kindness and attentiveness!
5/5. We got here at 11 am qnd were planning on just sightseeing until check in, but they had some rooms ready and had no problem with us checking in early. Front desk was super nice. There is valet for (as of july 21st) about 35 dollars when all is said and done. Its overnight qnd you can pull your car out as needed. There is city parking underground directly behind for $25 overnight, but you cant pull your vehicle out as needed .The room was a good size with impressive height. I wanted to have a projector for the tall walls. Bathroom was nice with a tub. Pool was very shallow, tipping out at 4 feet. There is a nice hot tub. This was actually a great deal. We got a card good for three drinks during happy hour qnd they advertised snacks but it was pulled pork sliders, hot dogs, nachos, baked potatoes, ect. The breakfast was a full breakfast.Very close to rock qnd roll hall of fame and the stadiums.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel last night. My ONLY complaint is they charge $30 PLUS TAX! My advise it to research parking before you go.The hotel is spotless! The hotel has a historical look but the rooms are updated. Room was VERY clean, HUGE and the toiletries provided felt like spa quality. The bedding was comfortable and we slept babies! The staff is VERY NICE and happy! Helpful when needed and they work to keep guests happy. Excellent customer service! You get 3 drinks per person for cocktail hour for beer, wine or mixed drinks. The appetizers are not so good and more kid friendly. The pool are is nice and clean as well as the hot tub. Pool water was a little cold though!Thank you for making our anniversary amazing!
Beautiful hotel, nicely decorated, updated, clean rooms, friendly staff, lovely view from our 6th floor room. The food and drinks served as part of the Kickback were excellent as was the breakfast. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone needing accommodation in Cleveland.
The hotel itself was very clean. The room was comfortable and spacious. The happy hour and kick back was an added bonus. It was really nice to relax and have a few drinks and food. The breakfast had a nice variety of foods. The staff was fantastic! Always wanting to make sure your stay was going well. Very friendly and helpful. Valet parking was very well organized and efficient. Nice staff there too. The location is very convenient to a lot of downtown attractions and restaurants. I cant say enough about this great hotel!
Positive: The rooms are nice and the location was right downtown near a lot of attractions. Negative: I booked a deluxe king room. When I booked the room, I couldnt book a regular deluxe king room; the only option was to pay extra for a high floor. When I checked in, my actual room was on the second floor. Complete joke.
Great place for a staycation. Hot tub and pool open. Kenya at the front desk goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and happy. Complimentary drinks and food in the evening , and a Hot breakfast in the morning make this my favorite place to get away when I can’t go far! You will have to pay $30 to valet park, or find parking downtown. There are a few meters which are free on weekends.
This is our 2nd stay and the staff are so personable and eager to make your stay pleasant. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. In the evening there is a complimentary snack more like a meal. One valet in particular Michael when we came the first time greeted us and just took the initiative and asked if we needed help which we did and started unloading our vehicle greeted our dog and stood with us in line at front desk while we checked in and then he escorted us to our room and unloaded our luggage. We where so grateful and found it so refreshing to have someone go above and beyond to help us even though this seems to be routine for him is because of the impression Michael made on us that we will stay here every time we come to cleveland.
Free breakfast and happy hour (three free drinks!) with great comfort food all included in the price of the room. Very nice staff and huge rooms. Close to everything and affordable. Large pool and hot tub! Stayed in a double with my husband and three kids and we were comfortable. Great security. The only minor issue was that the dishes at breakfast and the happy hour are sometimes left a little dirty but you can pick through the dish pile to find clean ones. Great for families. Valet parking staff were so friendly, especially Mr. Rafael!
I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is very clean, organized, and has a great location. We also got bumped up to a suite which made the trip so much better! I gave 4 stars because I was told the only nearby parking option was through valet, which when we got there we found a lot more options after paying. Also the hotel was haunted. Overall good stay!
Everything was lovely, wonderful beds, but what I really need to share was how the staff handled my personal difficulty. We were taking my grandson to the clinic for an appointment and stress level was high. I couldnt find my keys, thought I locked them in the car. Manager Mark took care of me like a family member. He had the local police there within 10 minutes to open my car. When the keys were not inside, he did an investigation on camera to see if I was carrying my keys when I checked in, and even what I was wearing to remind me to check the pockets. He went to the room with me and helped search. When a cleaning person found them in the bedsheets he was as happy as I was.Throughout this experience, he was calm and soothing. He offered me coffee or tea, and he even gave me some wise philosophical advice. Truly he was like an angel.Earlier I saw him meeting with his staff and it was obvious that he created a warm, accepting collegial atmosphere at the hotel.I am 69 years old and a world traveller and I dont think I have ever had such a positive hotel experience.
I had to come to Cleveland for medical care so I wasn’t looking forward to the trip. When I pulled up to the hotel all of that changed. It is beautiful! The valet parking crew are so nice and super helpful. The young lady at the front desk was super nice. She explained things so well. Even though we were two hours early she gave us our room. The room was spacious, clean, and modern. The hallways have original marble and it feel like being in a museum. They feed you breakfast and dinner. The food was excellent each meal. This is hands down my fav hotel ever.
I honestly cant believe how bad the customer service is at this hotel. My husband took our shared credit card to check in, but they refused, at midnight, to let him check in. He woke me up, got me on the phone, and the customer service agent, Stephen, refused to offer a single solution. He wouldnt let me speak to a manager, he wouldnt provide a plan for how to solve this, and then he hung up on me! Unless you want to be turned away at midnight, BUYER BEWARE!
This review is rather multifaceted, considering there were some amazing parts of our experience as well as some things that I found rather concerning/disappointing.First, the pros: THE STAFF!! My goodness, there are some amazing people who work here. Ms. Angela at the front desk is an angel, Sheila in food and beverage is very helpful and you can tell her team feels supported, Chelsea at the Teachers lounge is attentive and very positive, even though she wore several hats last night as cook, bartender, AND sever. And Michael in valet might be one of the most amazing humans on the planet... seriously. Our king suite was cozy and clean. We were on the 4th floor so it was quiet and very relaxing. I liked that the person who cleaned and sterilized the space left a note with her name for full accountability. The courtesy beverages were a nice touch, too. We did not partake in the free food that was being served, as the space was jam-packed with other visitors with no social distancing being enforced at all. This leads me into the cons...: The whole purpose of us being there was because most hotels in the area do not have their pools/whirlpools open. When I called ahead to inquire before booking, I was told that they take reservations with a sign-up sheet to ensure that over-crowding doesnt happen. Well, this is only true for the fitness room. You have to sign up to work out but not to swim... As such, each time we went down to the pool area, both the pool and whirlpool were slammed with guests. Aside from the man at the door counting heads, there was no formal regulation of how long guests occupied either areas. He told us that there were 32 people in the area currently and that the cap was 40. I was shocked by this, as 40 people with no masks is a lot considering the size of the space. I attempted to ask a family in the whirlpool if they had an idea of how much longer they thought theyd be in and was met with attitude. So, we decided to get food instead. We went into the Teachers Lounge which was cozy and basically empty. We were greeted shortly after we sat ourselves and ordered our drinks and food. The drink menu had a variety of options which was nice. The food menu had a lot to pick from too, but we stuck with the basics of pizza, wings, and loaded tater tots. The food was pretty expensive as to be expected with hotel food, but the quality did not stand up to the cost, unfortunately. You got six wings which were pretty small for the cost, the flat bread was about 4 slices, and the tots were a smaller portion and were cold halfway through. The total cost of the meal and 3 drinks was upwards of $50 which is a lot for what we ordered, $60 after the tip. Lastly, when we checked out this morning there were at least 3 people in the lobby area without masks. The young lady at the front desk did not appear to be concerned at all.Takeaways: Would we return? Absolutely. However, we will likely dine out elsewhere. Suggestions would be to add a time limit to the pool area to ensure that safe proximities are being enforced and that all guests who would like to enjoy the pool are able to do so.
First off, all of the employees were so nice. Like I’ve ever stayed at a hotel where employees were this nice. Second, it is an absolutely gorgeous hotel. Gorgeous pool, rooms and very modern public areas. They offer free drinks and food in the evenings. We had a blast here!
Great hotel! The rooms were nice and clean. The service was fantastic and the complementary breakfast was great. Throw in free drinks and dinner with the Kickback and you have a fantastic stay. The pool was clean and clear and only goes to 4 feet so it is perfect for kids. This doesnt have to be a family hotel, it is nice enough on its own. But when they say family friendly they mean it and they do it well.
Surrounded by green space. Walking distance to rock hall, complementary breakfast and snack with 2 drinks( the snack )1 night was chicken parmesan, salad, and more, hot dog chip. Next night was Bbq, salad , soup, vegetable, potato. Full breakfast. This has been a great stay! Pool and hot tub work out room. Clean comfortable rooms. Staff have been friendly and professional. Highly recommend.
What a beautiful hotel! The rooms were much more spacious than Was expecting and have a regal feel due to all the dark wood used around the entire hotel interior. Breakfast was great and we even got 2 free drinks during a short window if time in the evening with dinner. The location is great as it is close to everything in downtown, and our room had nice views of the city.
Overall nice place, staff was friendly and helpful. Walk right out the back to the mall area with walks and grass and fountains. Short walk to the lake area and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and short drives to places like Edgewater beach, West Side Market and more. They offer valet parking, but theres also a lot across the street and others nearby where you can use an app and pay for the time you want, add time, and can easily access your vehicle as needed.
We were treated SO well!! We had a problem with our first room and the staff quickly put us in a different room. They not only compted the first night, but very generously discounted the room. We were snowed in the next day, so they let us stay in the same very nice suite at a very fair price!! VERY nice and helpful manager and staff!
Absolutely everyone, from the desk clerk to the valets and food service attendants were very kind, helpful and professional. They served barbecued pulled pork sliders, chili and salad, among other things for dinner. Loved the sliders! Very enjoyable experience. We cant wait to go back. Thank you everyone for a stress free experience!
My wife and I spent 3 days at the Drury Plaza Hotel Cleveland Downtown for our honeymoon from 8/21-8/24 We have stayed there a few times previously. We would not, and will not, stay anywhere else. The entire staff is helpful and freindly. The rooms are great. When I informed the Hotel that we were on our Honeymoon, they upgraded our room. They decorated our room. They were great!I hope this review goes up to the Coporate level. We Love Drury Plaza Hotel Cleveland Downtown. Again, we will not stay anywhere else.Dave Vafides
First time here and we loved it! Kevin at check in was wonderful and very informative about everything at the hotel. The room was big and very comfy, loved having a fridge and microwave too. The 5:30 Kickback Happy Hour and breakfast are really good. All the employees are super friendly and make you feel at home. We will definitely be back!
This was the most enjoyable stay we have ever had away from home. The rooms were spacious nicely decorated and clean, clean, clean. The entire premise was just breathtaking. The morning breakfast and afternoon apps. were outstanding. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. Not if, but when we return to Cleveland we know EXACTLY where we will be staying.
Nice clean hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Adequate room sizes and love that it comes with a small refrigerator and microwave. The hotel is in a great location so you can walk to a lot of things. The breakfast buffet is nice, hot eggs, sausage, biscuits and sausage, waffles, etc...Its in a great location so you can walk to a lot of things. Id definitely stay here again.
This is such a beautiful hotel, and in a really nice area for walking around and enjoying the city. Theres a beautiful fountain out front, and the building itself is incredible because it used to be a Board of Education building. The people here were super nice, and I felt safe here because the elevators are inaccessible without a room key. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and pleasantly designed for either one or two people to use comfortably. Also, they served the best hotel breakfast Ive ever had and provided 2 or 3 free drinks for each night of our stay. 10/10 would stay here again.
Beautiful old building with lots af marble and historic qualities, but all the rooms are renovated. Air works great and other amenities are awesome. High ceilings. The continental breakfast was great and the happy hour 3 free cocktails with free food was fun. Walking distance to rock and roll hall and science center. Super housekeeping and staff. Nice experience
We stayed at the Drury for two nights in mid April. When we checked into our room, there was a pile of wet used towels in the closet, I called the desk and they were removed. Next I went to take a shower and there was a cleaning rag hung over the shower and hair all over the counter. In addition, we found garbage in the room, so I called the desk again and they transferred me to housekeeping. They apologized and offered to clean the room again and told me they would compensate me by reducing my bill for one night. That never happened and I never even received an apology from the hotel manager. We are in the middle of a pandemic after all and my room was not cleaned. I will never stay in this or any other Drury Hotel again.
This is one of the best hotels Ive ever stayed at. Along with a free Kick Back which is enough food to fill you up for dinner they offer free popcorn and fountain drinks 24/7, free breakfast..And if that isnt enough you also get three alcoholic beverages per adult. The first place I look at is the beds and the bathrooms and both were exceptionally clean. The whole staff was extremely helpful and friendly including the valet guys. Would definitely stay here again!
If you stay anywhere else...youre paying too much and not getting enough. Great old, retro fitted building, which is what Drury is known for. TOP level service. Excellent rooms. FANTASTIC free!!! breakfast. Which will be crowded and stay that way!! Be patient!! The dinner is good, if you just want a casual, free, delicious dinner. One night was chili hogs and such, another was baked potatoes loaded and custom made of course. But its all free..no hidden costs, beverages such as juice, soda, water are also free. THIS IS OUR ABSOLUTE favorite hotel...and now a staple of our travels. When we travel..and its frequent,, first we do is check for a Drury, cant go wrong I promise..
Everything from the incredible staff to our room to the food was amazing!!! This will be our new favorite weekend getaway! I mentioned it was my fiancé’s birthday and we went to the room and they had left him a Bday card! We also used the Valet service and the guys running it were great! So much in walking distance, we left it parked all weekend!! Thank you for a great weekend!!!
Just stayed at the Drury for the weekend and loved it! This place is absolutely beautiful and sits on a park downtown. Walkable to 4th street arcade and rock n roll HOF. The staff was extremely polite and kind and never felt so welcome at a hotel. Rooms were very clean as was the rest of the hotel. Pool and hot tub were a nice amenity. Morning they offer a nice complimentary breakfast of eggs, potatoes , sausage, biscuit and gravy, cereal, fruit among other items. In the evening the give each hotel guest 3 drink tickets and a meal. We imbibed in the free cocktails but passed on dinner as we had reservations elsewhere. Dinner included items like soup, salad, chicken fingers, chicken Alfredo... If you plan on going to the RnR HOF consider the package deal as it includes valet parking, room and tickets to the HOF. I would definitely stay here again. Well worth the money for all that you get.
I cant recommend Drury Downtown enough. Its the only place I will stay when booking a hotel downtown. Its within walking distance to the convention center and other destinations, but more importantly, the rooms are always clean and quiet. The staff is wonderful and accommodating, especially Theresa (night shift) and Chip, the sweet valet. The complimentary breakfast can be a little overwhelming on a Sunday morning, but the food is well-stocked and theres lots of variety to choose from. All in all, its a gorgeous, affordable hotel with great service.
This is a stunning hotel! We loved staying here and are looking forward to our next visit! The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool/whirlpool is clean and safe with the fitness room over looking the pool area. The fitness room had the best equipment Ive ever seen in a hotel! The rooms are beautiful and clean with comfortable beds! We checked in too late for dinner, but breakfast the next morning was tasty and hot as always. The rates were amazing given the quality of the stay!
The beautiful architecture of the old building is beautiful. The room was nice including the bathroom. Many perks included in stay were happy hour spread including 3 drinks pp. Late-night buffet and morning breakfast buffet. Only downfall of stay...my room definitely needed to be vacuumed, especially since I picked up 4 cookies and crackers off floor in front of my bed.
Staff was professional, knowledgeable and kind. Nice rooms. Such a great deal with popcorn, soft drinks, complimentary happy hour, pool and hot tub, and free breakfast which was delicious and well stocked. Great stay with kids. Great location. We live 20 minutes from downtown and we will be back for a nice getaway.
Awesome hotel! I loved the fact that not only did they have breakfast but also dinner! Not a big variety of food, but hey, it was free and tasty and thats enough to make me happy! The entire staff was SUPER friendly, a smile every morning and evening! The whole place is beautiful.. we loved the ceilings on the third floor! Rooms were clean and spacious. We will definitely be staying again next year! My one and only complaint however is regarding the pillows, if you have back or neck problems, bring a firm pillow. The pillows here are very soft, even when piling them up on each other.
Yes had a couple problems right of the rip. Card wouldnt work so we had a run around for abit. And yes it was on me for that. Then the room was not in perfect condition but come on what hotel is. So they offered us a king suite to make up for it but when u have 3 kids and your wife u can not have just one bed and a couch that folds out. The manager then gave us 40 dollars back on the room and moved us to a two room two Queen with fold out. That to me was a great deal. Then we did have another issue. The manager was again on his game and comped us another stay at any Drury Hotel. And breakfast in am was awesome.
We were very impressed by the Drury. We stayed two nights for a family staycation (we only live about an hour away!) and its in a historical building right downtown. The setup of the main lobby is a little odd but the room itself is cool to look at, with its marble pillars and floors. They keep the back doors locked at all times and you need your room key to use them and the elevator, a bit of extra security that I like. The valet was a little more expensive than the parking deck, but definitely worth the 7 or 8 dollars to not have to worry about trying to find a spot in the Rockwell deck across the street and then walking from there to the hotel. They just added the cost to our total, which was nice. Our room was clean and spacious but oddly didnt have a closet or even a rack to hang clothes in, which was odd. There was a closet but the doors were locked, maybe because its a conjoining room? Either way, we couldve used somewhere to hang our swimsuits to dry. The bathroom was very spacious and nice. The pool was nice but really chilly for being an indoor pool. They need to have it heated. The hot tub was nice. Last but not least, the breakfast buffet was nice both mornings. Lots to choose from and more than just a waffle iron. Also, they have their kick back time, which was from 5:30-7 every evening and they basically offered free dinner here. It wasnt spectacular but it was free dinner! We had it the first night and there was choice of baked potato, pasta, nachos, soups, hot dogs and a salad bar. There were a couple other things there that I missed but it was very nice (and very crowded!) Overall, nice clean room and bathroom, very good complimentary meal(s) and great valet service. Pool was okay, nice to have, but cold.

2022-01-24My first time staying at this location. Hotel was beautiful, staff was friendly. We had a queen room. Room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. Evening kickback was a huge perk...drinks and food for the family. Only 2 cons was parking and the pool. No parking lot, they do have valet parking for a nightly price, we did not utilize this service. . Also the pool was supposed to be heated but the temperature was too cold to swim. Otherwise we will definitely stay again!

2022-05-28Excellent central location in a historic edifice in walking distance to almost all attractions. Plenty of restaurants around.Spacious room with all amenities you need, as well the bathroom.Pool was heated, very pleasant to swim and fair in size, along with the hot tub.Breakfast is very good, but the biggest bonus is their Kick back at 5.30 PM - a light supper (great soup, hot dogs, shredded pork, potatoes, nachos, salads....), after which you really dont need dinner so you save some bucks.Parking is around 40$ - valet only, but we parked our car on the street in front of the hotel by the meter (free from 6 PM to 7 AM, after 7 AM 2$ per hour).

2022-02-28I have stayed at my fair share of hotels and this is genuinely one of the worst experiences that I have ever had at a hotel. Checking in was easy and the lady that helped us out was nice. She is the only kind staff member that we experience during our entire trip. Also, my boyfriend and I both double charged for our room, amounting to almost $700. We came here for our anniversary weekend to get some stress off of our minds and instead of relaxing, we had to worry about if the hotel was going to take another $245 out of our bank account the next day. When we approached the front desk to bring up this issue, she told us that it was a bank account issue and not their problem. The next morning, it took another $192 out of my bank account and we went back down to ask why it took even more money out, to where she said that it actually did double charge me that time. So heres to hoping that our card numbers are off file because if I get charged again I will not be happy. The free breakfast was decent, but the dinner staff was nothing but rude. When going to use the pool and hot tub, again hoping to relax, there were about 30 screaming children and probably 10 in the hot tub splashing around without any proper supervision. Needless to say, I dont believe we will be staying here ever again.

2022-05-23This is a wonderful hotel! The beds are very comfortable and the baths are spacious. The FREE dinner and happy hour were very nice as was the free breakfast. The location is within .6 miles of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in one direction and the same short distance in another direction to bars and restaurants. Lastly, the interior of the hotel is gorgeous.

2022-02-15I had no complaints with this hotel beside the layout was different than I’m used to in a hotel. The perks of staying here were impressive including the breakfast and DINNER. There were also free drinks at dinner which was nice. The hotel was beautiful and historic. The location was interesting but not far from things downtown.

2022-06-04Went for my oldest sons graduation, so didnt need too much. Rooms were very nice, nicer than the carpet in the hallway would lead you to believe. We saved money by parking in the street, valet was $34. Breakfast was very good, continental with an omelet station and a waffle maker.

2022-04-11This is one of my favorite hotels in Cleveland! We stayed for 1 night and went to an evening Cavs game. It was about a 10 minute walk to the arena and the food/drinks beforehand saved us tons of money in at the game.Such a cool hotel. It looks like it was an old school before but the rooms are updated and very nice. The pool in the basement was great for the kids and it even had a hot tub!100% recommend.

2022-01-25What a nice pleasant stay! We came here for a basketball game. The location was perfect. All the workers were very nice and helpful. Building was very clean. I highly recommend this place and look forward to future stays. Well done!!
