Deweys Pizza in other cities:
Very friendly, very clean. Server wore a mask and all seating is spacious but still comfortable. I ALWAYS order the Socrates revenge but I wanted something different so I debated on the bbq chicken. Our server suggested I do an 11 inch half and half. Wonderful idea, and she saved me money by suggesting a larger pizza for my two boys to split rather than each do an 11 inch. I am never disappointed when I eat at Deweys. By far my favorite pizza.
We love Deweys. The toppings are always fresh and plentiful. We love the cherry tomatoes, they are seriously one of the best toppings youll find anywhere. Everything is always delicious and the pizza is never too greasy. We love that they are still doing drive up carry out, its been extremely helpful with busy schedules and kids.
Usually its good here, but this last time I didnt get a drink refill at all and they forgot to bring my salad. By the time our server came back she seemed annoyed that I didnt get it & after checking she said yeah they forgot to bring it out & since it looks kind of nasty I think Ill have them make you another. Not sure whats happened but well probably hold off for a bit:(
We ordered two pizzas and had to have them modified slightly. When they came out, there had been a mix up in the computer. I politely said something to one of the waitresses. The manager, a very sweet gentleman, came and asked for the correct order. Not only did he offer to remake our pizzas but he also comped them. I have never had a bad experience at this location. I wasnt looking for them to be comped just possibly remade. Such polite staff as well. Definitely will continue to get my business and hope anyone else too!
This would have been a 5 Star rating if the pizza tasted better. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great. The customer service was excellent but the pizza was okay at best. Ive ate at other pizza places that were much better and much cheaper. Deweys just does not taste that great for what it costs.
I feel its extremely rude to ask for a tip over the phone for a pickup order, I already paid 42$ for 2 pizzas. If your not driving it to my home or providing me a special service then its just asking for a hand out, not a very good first experience. If you never had the pizza in my opinion its worth trying once. The pizza was cold though and 5 mins late coming out since I wasnt aloud to walk in and get it myself.
I celebrated my PhD today in this gorgeous place. I am glad to say that we enjoyed a enjoyable evening and the place was no doubt one of the reasons for this successful celebration. The crew cooperated in a sweet way, the meals were very good and my buddies were extremely pleased. We shall surely come back again for more joyful events. thanks very much.
On the 7th day God created Deweys!!We eat here all the time and everything is always perfect. Tonight ... they put white onions on my pizza instead of red. Not only did they remake the pizza in under 10 minutes but gave the white onion pizza to my friend and gave me a $15 gift card.Deweys ... I just love you 😍 ❤ 😘
Always one of the best places to get a pizza in Cincinnati! When I went here the other night, my friends and I tried 4 different kinds of pizza. The best part about Dewey’s is you can get a large pizza, and do different kinds of specialty pizza on each half! We tried the Ryan’s Inferno (Buffalo chicken pizza with celery bits, Gorgonzola cheese, ranch dressing), Green Lantern (Veggie pizza with pesto sauce), Southwest BBQ Chicken (my personal favorite, grilled chicken, smoked cheddar, red peppers, onions, and black beans), and their seasonal pizza, Backyard Barbecue (Pulled pork, pineapple, mango salsa, BBQ sauce). Everything is always so delicious! Can’t wait to go back!
This is my favorite pizza place ever. I will never turn down a chance to go to Deweys. The building is a bit loud, so if you are looking for a place to have a quiet conversation this is not it. I will also warn that if you order the Edgar Alan Poe (my favorite) you might smell like garlic for a few days. I was disappointed at my visit to this particular Deweys since the garlic was raw, but have never had a problem before.
I really like Deweys. Their style of pizza is sort of modern and comes with all kinds of cool combinations and ideas. Only removed one star because the service we received was less than stellar... We had to wait like 10 minutes to pay our bill despite a long line of people clearly waiting for our table.
We love this place. They are always busy and sometimes it takes 10-45 minutes to get in. We have always had great experiences coming here. The managers are running around doing refills on drinks, running out the food when the employees have other tables they are attending to. The house salads is always a great choice with extra toppings.
Our visit would have been much better if they were not having a Deweys associates meeting in dining area where customers were seated. The meeting lasted during our entire meal. They were not very considerate of the customers. It would have been nice had they would have at least lowered their voices!
Staff okay. Didn’t necessarily act like they were happy to be there. And I get it... I was a waitress and bartender for over 30 years. But I also worked on tips. Maybe more food places should suggest tipping? And lower their prices a bit....Pizza to me was a teeny tiny bit bland but the grandkids loved it.It was fresh and hot.Over all not bad. Not perfect but definitely not a one star...just needed a little more murphfff😁😜🥳
I received fast and friendly service from my waitress and the manager was great about checking on us. He even got us refills when our waitress was busy. I appreciate an establishment where even the manager is willing to pitch in when things are busy. Awesome job Deweys Pizza on Harrison avenue!!!
Definitely will not go back. Did not know that we needed a reservation for two people at 6:00 p.m. and the hostess was obvious about making us feel like we were not supposed to be there since we had not made a reservation in advance. It was almost comical at the rigmarole they went through to find us a table even though there were only two other tables taken. It was a really odd feeling and not a good experience.
We visit Deweys a few times per month. The atmosphere is always friendly and the pizza has never disappointed us. The service has always been top notch. We usually have 5-8 different team members (including management) checking on us and refilling drinks. The only suggestion is that they should offer appetizers as a menu item.
It was surprisingly good. I had low expectations having had a lot of bad pizza this last year. The crust was really good like NYC pizza. The toppings were good. We tried 3 types of pizza. We had the Brooklyn bomber which my folks and son loved, the edgar Allen Poe which my sister had and she likes it but it was too vinegary for me, and the gorgonzola and fig with prosciutto and it was incredible. My son (who is 14 months old) made a huge mess and the staff was incredibly patient and wonderful about it. When I come to visit my family again I will definitely request to eat here. Good food , great service and a big thumbs up from me.
Deweys Pizza is always delicious with excellent hand tossed crust and generous toppings. The specialty pizzas offer great topping combinations and the salads are fantastic. My favorites are Ryans Inferno pizza which features buffalo chicken, red onion, celery and the Grape and Candied Walnut salad which has an awesome dressing - be sure to ask for extra - youre welcome!
We love Deweys! Our favorite item is their calzones. Such great dough and fresh ingredients. It would rank 5 stars If they would push the ingredients out closer to the edge. As it is now, there are 2-3 inches of dough with no ingredients or cheese in it. Its too much for me to eat plain; even though its good, its too much bread to eat solo. Not enough sauce to dip it in either. This location is always hopping and the staff does a great job of being friendly and efficient.
No wait at the door. Service is very slow. Food was hot and super delicious. Service is very slow . The manager Ryan was awesome . He jumped in and saved the night . I was very argumentative I did not want anything free. Ryan assured me no store goal will ever exceed guest satisfaction. I can see Ryan going places . Great Job Ryan
This was my second time at Dewey pizza. This first was huge let down but I wasnt going to judge on one experience. But now that Ive had it twice. The food is Ok at best. The service is great. But a place that acts like a gourmet pizza place needs to give a great pizza for the price. So Dewey you drop the ball again. Not coming back.
The pizza was decent, but high priced. The service was rushed and dry.Went there on a Saturday night, I was on my first bite of my second slice, when a worker, (not the server who took order) came to our table and asked if we saved room for dessert. I replied no, she then immediately says do you need to go boxes, I replied sure, we each had at least 6 slices of pizza left at this point. This chic grabbed both pizzas and our plates and walked away. As I sat there dumbfounded with the slice still in my hand, speechless. She returned a few moments later with both pizzas shoved in one small box.We felt unwelcome and rushed. I was going to eat at least half of the pizza there, was not given that option. It was not closing time and there was not a line waiting to get in the door.Good thing both me and the person I was with was going to the same house, and a good thing one of us wasnt a vegetarian.. Two different pizzas stacked atop itself and shoved in one box..The pizza is bad rewarmed.I would not reccomend this place to anyone.
I love Deweys but my last experience here wasnt that great. Decided on take out. When I went to pick up my order they didnt have the desserts I had ordered and then when I got home the pizza wasnt right. I called to let them know and they did refund me which was nice but over all it was just a disappointing visit.
Great manager, great staff. Busy as busy could be during the traditional westside dinner hour, food prepared very well, timely, glasses kept full. Im always happy to pay a bit higher price for above average restaurant fare, and Deweys is above average. Excellent salads!!!!!
Place is great but small. Be prepared to wait during the dinner rush. We had a group of 7 and arrived at 5. Took almost an hour for the table, which wasnt bad and you can walk to Graeters and kill some time. We got the Dr. Dre and it was fantastic, and their beer selection is great if youre looking for a craft beer.
We enjoy eating at the Harrison Greene Deweys. The pizza and salads are great, and their unique system for serving tables is efficient. Also nice dessert and craft beer selections. The atmosphere is nice, and a step up from Cincys main pizza chain.UPDATE NOV 2020: Theyre doing great with COVID safety, with tables spaced apart and one path through the restaurant. We felt very comfortable eating indoors here.
We love Deweys Pizza... For their delicious food and impeccable service... But our experience at this location was nothing like our experience at other Deweys locations in Cincinnati. We went on a Friday night, fully expecting to wait because we know how busy it can get. We were told our time to wait would be 35 minutes, which was fine... But after 70 minutes of waiting right next to the hostess stand, we inquired about our seating. We were told very rudely by the hostess that we were called but never came. Since we had never moved from right next to the hostess stand, we are unsure of how this could have happened. We were reluctantly taken to a table with absolutely no apology and a hostess with a less than happy demeanor and so chose to leave without ordering.
The pizza was pretty good but I think that they should serve the sauce and toppings about a 1/2 inch from the outside of the pizza not over 1 inch on the inside. The salad was terrible but they did take it off the bill. The restaurant is clean and the employees are very nice
Use the Yelp app to get on the wait list that was at 30-50 minutes then left for the joint. Watched as the number of folks in front of dropped from 16 to 5 as we arrived. Checked in and with 5-10 minutes were at our table. Pizza and side salads with a diet Coke or two from a very attentive waitress.
The food is always great! I will never go back and eat at the restraunt though. Worst service ever! We will order to go! We had to sit and watch other servers serve other tables while I think a female manger who was helping us avoid us multiple times finally take our order, then she never came back once after that. I had to ask another manger for our bill to leave..we were there an hour longer than we should have been just because of the poor service.
Its expensive but the seasonal pizzas are always exciting and the available toppings are good. Ive only tried the seasonal salads but they were tasty and crisp. Staff is typically friendly though inattentive during busy times. Eg. Empty water glasses and forgotten sides until we tracked them down. Tables are a little small
Tried this place last night. Went in at a very busy hour. Place was packed. With all the people there I expected that I had been missing out on something very special. The menu itself only listed pizza and beer. The prices were pretty high so had expected the pizza to be pretty damn good. Then the pizza arrived. Bite by bite my taste buds waited to experience something worthwhile, but was only met with bland taste. Tried to add some parmesan cheese, but the cheese was caked up solid in the shaker. Ive ate pizza from nearly every place in Cincinnati and never had a pizza I didnt like, until last night that is... Ive had better pizza from the frozen food section at Kroger. I really felt quite let down. The staff was nice, prompt and curtious, but as for the pizza itself... yuck! I spent the next half hour after leaving puzzled by the crowd I had just left. Do that many people really love to pay that high a price for such bland pizza? Was it a convience factor? Close to home? The beer maybe? I dont know, but my thoughts about it prompted me to leave a review for those who think they want to try this place. LaRosas, Dominos, Pizza Hut, Donatos, Angelos... any of these places have a better tasting pizza than Deweys. Dont waste your time or money. Thats my opinion.
The service was awful, my salad had a spider in it and the pizza was better in past visits. Not sure if well be back. The waitress was the worst, my husband asked for another draft beer, about 15 minutes later someone else stopped by to check on us since our waitress was nowhere to be found and he had to ask that waitress for the beer. Our waitress never came back. And when we were leaving the restaurant she walked right past us and didnt say a word to us. It was extremely unprofessional and rude. I was shocked. They need to get rid of her if they want people to come back.
Friendly staff. Pizzaiolo entertained the kids with his mad dough throwing skills and by tossing flour into the window at them while we waited to be seated. Prompt service and pizza was devoured by all with compliments and wishes for more. But we had to save room for Graeters. Sorry Deweys but as amazing as your desserts are, Elainas blueberry pie ice cream is back at Graeters so we had to defer.
I stopped in yesterday to have lunch. My service was nowhere near good. My bill came to $33.93 i put on the recipe. $5 tip plus another 5 on the table. Being a server myself i understand its hard through this pandimic. Well my card shouldve have been ran for $38.93, but i ended up seeing that my card was acrually ran for $40.93. When i called the manager she said there wasnt anything she could do and that the only thing she could see was the card being charged the $33.93. I told her that i could show her the notification from my bank, and then she told me to wait it out to see if the rest of the money would go back on my card. Im incredibly upset that this type of embezzlement gets brushed off the way it did.
I love this Deweys! Food is always good. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is we were on an hour wait when there were empty tables in the dining room. Not sure if it was a staffing issue, but when you see empty tables you could be sitting at and no one is seated at those tables for 10-15 minutes, it makes you wonder....
This visit was especially wonderful . I am doing the Keto way of eating and with the peppercorn ranch large salad and a side of chicken I was able to get my fat, protein, and very low carb numbers to finish out the day. The waitress, and gentalman I think he cleared up dishes, he asked our waitress if she could bring napkins. Service was spot on. I Hurray for Deweys love love love this restaurant 💓 🌝
My favorite pizza place to get more high-end/fancy pizza, calzones and salads in the city. I love eating at all the different Deweys locations throughout Cincinnati. Their calzones are to die for.My go-to is a calzone with artichoke, or a calzone with smoked cheddar (plus the cheese that typically comes with it) and pine nuts. Those two combinations are heavenly!
Westside store is great fast service great perfectly done pizza and the house salad is always a 🏆. The Calzones are the worst in the city. They should stop making them. Dough is way too soft. Never baked long enough and the cheese ingredients inside amount to maybe 2 tablespoons! So you are served this big doughy thing with barely any flavor. Do not order it. I did venture to ask my server why it was so poorly made. The response was we have set measurements we use when we make the Calzone... They wouldnt add more even if I paid more... after waiting I sent it back. Not a real Calzone if they want to see and taste a real one go to 5 Boroughs Pizza about a half mile away.
Went to Deweys Pizza Oakley in Cincinnati the other day. When we arrived we were forced to wear masks due to the false fear of COVID19. Once we walked in we were asked if we had registered online. Then we were asked to give our name and phone number, which is an invasion of privacy and freedom of information. I asked the server, “Why do you need my name and phone number?” He replied for contact tracing. Big brother is in action tracking people and attempting to target people whom they think are sick. Moreover when we were seated we were told that the air conditioning was not working. We will never eat at Deweys again.
Waited 45 minutes for a table. We ordered salad and pizza. We received the salad and waited and waited for the pizza. Finally asked the manager and was told the pizza didnt ring up and he would make it right away. Twenty minutes later he came back and told us our pizza burned. What a joke!
Food undercooked. Raw dough on multiple food items. Some food items obviously not cooked property.Staff improperly trained. Never checked on issues. Kept running into chair. Service not up to par with Oakley and Kenwood.Manager not paying attention. Seriously no idea what is going on in restaurant.
Unfortunately when the service is bad, so is the food. I sat down at the sparse bar with one couple beside me to be ignored by one waitress, having to flag down another for a menu. The waitress that took my order was okay and answered my questions about the menu but then forgot to put the added chicken on my pizza to return with a luke warm pizza with the chicken neatly laid atop. Disappointed because I know what this place is supposed to be but was not on this night.
YUM! Great location, great food!4/18 Update: Very disappointed today when I tried to place a carry out order. I was told on the phone that it would be 55 minutes for my order, however, they said if I would come in and order carry out, it would only be 15 minutes. That makes no sense to me.
Attentive staff, good beer (could use more taps but not a detractor, bar obviously has good opinions and taste but more selection is always a plus), and tvs playing football? Whats not to like?Oh btw, the pizza IS AMAZING. Yall know this, you live here, but this Deweys in particular nails all these points.

2022-05-26Had a rare opportunity to get an unrushed lunch out during the work week due to an appointment in the area. I enjoyed the candied walnut & grape salad and a calzone with chicken, bacon, mushroom and red onions. For a pizza joint they are on the higher-end price wise, but its so worth it! They clearly use high quality ingredients and they have unique and interesting toppings/fillings options. My server was very pleasant and did a great job keeping my drink topped off.

2022-03-06Horrible wait staff. we ordered a large salad to share and also a pizza. half an hour went by after ordering and we were seeing people that came in after us getting their food already. later we were told oops I didnt actually put your order in guys! so we waited another 20 minutes and finally got our salad. when we finally got the food it was good, but the front of house staff need some serious help. there was no offer of a discount or a manager even speaking with us so it seems like it must be a regular occurance or normal for them. unless you have like 2 hours for a pizza, dont bother coming here!

2022-03-19In Cincinnati, I feel safe in saying that if you want pizza, you should go to Deweys. Their offerings are strong and consistent, their crust is the right blend of crunchy and yeasty bready goodness, every time. If you want what I think is the perfect pizza, a standard, if you will, a home base of pizza operations that you may venture out from time to time, you will get Deweys Green Lantern pizza; a red sauce base pie topped with mozzarella, minced garlic, mushrooms, goat cheese, artichoke hearts, and pesto. Its the last three ingredients that make this the perfect pizza. The flavor balance of those three ingredients hitting your palate in combination with the more traditional toppings will, I feel sure, produce the effect of something less than addiction, more like an expectation. You will eventually get the Socrates Revenge and the Edgar Allen Poe, say, but you will come back again and again for the Green Lantern. The service is always great. They shined during the pandemic and should be rewarded with your patronage.Youll not be disappointed by choosing Deweys Pizza. We stay in the city limits proper for ours, but thats a personal choice. If you like the suburbs, thats your cross to bear.

2022-03-17So nice to meet a friend, salad was amazing and of course the pizza was perfection. I love that we can split a pizza of two speciality pizzas!!! Sat and talked for 2 hours and the server was as sweet as when we first sat down.

2022-03-08Love the fresh ingredients on the pizza with soft thin crust. The house made dressing is amazing on top of the best quality salads Ive had.

2021-03-21I have loved Deweys pizza for years and I loved when they opened a location 2 blocks from my house!! Tonight I tried the new Van Damme (at least was new to me I usually go gaga for Edgar Allen Poe) and its SUPER FABULOUS DELICIOUS. The service is always great, and Ive been getting more takeout since covid but always recommend people tip ~10% anyway.

2022-07-05My new favorite pizza place. Sauce is not spicy like Larosas. And my son loves the pizza also.

2020-03-10Its rare to rediscover a place and like it more but that is exactly what occurred with this establishment. On a spur of the moment we were compelled to end our vacation by coming back to town and grabbing a late night dinner, something quaint and fast. Deweys bubbled up from my mind and in the final hour before closing we made a visit. The restaurant was everything we needed at that moment. Being close to closing time there were few diners seated against the walls, having quiet conversations. The lighting was moodily dark but single table lamps would cast a warm reflective glow throughout the restaurants; lending to one of the coziest dining experiences. We were promptly sat and greeted by an extraordinary staff. Our server made helpful suggestions and then proceeded to grab us some drinks. Refills would come AUTOMATICALLY which is something of a rarity. This being later at night meant that we received 110% service to which I was thankful. The beer was deliciously cold and our specialty pizza was exceptionally good. All in all it was a dreamy atmosphere, punctuated by a great Indie playlist quietly strumming over the speakers. At the end of the night, a diligent manager would stop by and make sure everything was to satisfaction and even provided a flower to my girlfriend (they had extras from National Womans Day). I felt that this nice human gesture was the cherry ontop of an already stellar dinner. Eagerly looking at returning.
