I have been a chronic pain management patient with Dr. Edward Nelson at the Dayton Pain Center for going on 2 years. He is very thorough with my care. He is very willing to listen to me about how I am feeling and about my concerns about my condition and about how well my pain is being managed. I would personally recommend him to anyone who is looking for a good chronic pain management doctor.
Believe the negative reviews. Ive been going there for years and have never talked to anyone in person that has had a good experience with this place. They treat you like trash. They dont know what is going on with you medically. They mix up your medical records with others. They prescribe the wrong medication and then yell at you like its your fault. Its really the worst medical facility Ive ever been too. In fact, Im pretty sure my dog gets better care than this place offers its clients.
I was seen today by Dr. Reddy who called me an ADDICT which I am not… I was given a pee test which I didn’t ask for… then after seeing that I have pot in my system he started treating me like trash and didn’t want to help me with anything. He literally started downgrading my condition saying I’m young and shouldn’t be in pain and said I don’t have sciatica when I certainly do. He said he was going to send my pee to the lab to further test it because he didn’t believe me when I said I don’t do anything else. (Go ahead and waste your money dr reddy because you won’t find anything) I told him I’ve never tried anything else. I don’t drink, I can’t even take ibuprofen because I’m allergic. I am in genuine pain in my lower back and just want relief…. Not to get high. So he did give me a pain pill but made sure to say that he is giving me the lowest dose possible…. Also ordered an mri since he thinks I’m a liar. I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated today!!! I will NOT be seeing dr. Reddy again and I think he should do something else in life since after reading these reviews and apparently I’m not the only one treated like an addict when I’m the furthest thing from one. Will not be going back!!!
Horrible I cant believe this place is legally open. Very chaotic, unsanitary, nurses are rude and dont know what they are doing. Half of them have no name tag , dont know if they are actually qualified. Very uncaring people. This place needs to be inspected and shut down.
Theyre just impossible to work with, they dont give you reminders about appointments even when you explicitly ask them to. They mail you bills that they wont even let you pay. They call you only after you miss an appointment. Even when you make it to the appointment, they take ridiculously long to actual get to you. Overall a negative experience, not going back...
I have never in my life been treated how I was treated today. I was yelled at belittled and on top of that the Dr wrote bon the prescrition, that the diagnosis was opioid dependacy and tried to put me on Suboxone. I have never in my life been dependant on pain medicine. I will be calling the medical board.
My initial experiences were very bad, but I do believe they are trying to do better. Some Drs are great like my current one, while some Ive seen are not so great there like the Doctor who had to google search my condition in front of me . The staff, is always courteous to me but woefully undersupported. I dont know if its the lack of modern bookkeeping, or simply understaffed, or scheduling too many people at once, but in the 3 or 4 years Ive been there Ive never waited less than 2 hours. If your appt is at 9... plan on having your name called around 11.There is SUCH a need for good pain management, and I feel like the system/culture of the clinic needs a overhaul, but the current staff seems like theyre trying their best. So the best plan is to be kind, clear your day (bring a snack)... and know what to expect.
Wish I could give a zero. The Dr had no know I was in substantial pain. I suppose because I told him my pain level was 7 he prescribed a medication that didnt touch the pain. It just made me feel nauseous and drowsy. I went in the next month and saw a PA and told him what would work for my extreme lower back pain. He went to the Dr and came back and just upped the dosage of the same medication. It was a medication that my PCP can write. Im not paying for a specialist every month for not being listened to and getting treatment I can get from my PCO. So Im going to a different PAIN MANAGEMENT CENTER. If you want your pain MANAGED I definitely recommend you avoid this place.
They didnt look at my prior records, instead of letting them tell them anything 1 Dr.started giving na lecture w.spine, joints. Ive had 3 rheumatologists over 3 decades, had 10 orth. surgeries: no new info. Made no referrals, no tens machine but the worst was being lied to. Said theyd call my Ex 2 pharmacy but didnt. My calls werent accepted.called to schedule 2nd visit-& told them NO
Wait times here to see one of their rude and unprofessional doctors were unreal. Three hours in the waiting room, only to see my assigned doctor for five minutes on my first visit. They dont listen to what you have to say, treat everyone like theyre only there to score drugs for a high , and the second the doctor left my room today, she was laughing at me with her assistant nurse until it sounded like she was going to be sick. This place will treat you like nothing more than a number because youre poor. I am disgusted that anyone with such little compassion for others has the nerve to go into a medical career. The only good thing about this place are their front desk and triage staff, but I would never recommend seeing one of their physicians.
I will say Dr. Erragolla was wonderful and helped me get back some quality of life. I would recommend him to others. The office is a different matter. My first visit they pulled the wrong chart with someone elses name similar to mine. I noticed the birthdate was wrong and they realized they had the wrong chart. Then they had to make a chart because they were not prepared. My second visit went well. Then today, my third visit, I was told they lost my chart and I had to reschedule another day for my injection. They again pulled the wrong chart and quickly realized it wasnt mine. The office is extremely unorganized. I will not return to this office due to the high risk of possible medication or procedure error because of lack of organization in the office.
This place needs help!!! These doctors and staff are so unprofessional. They left my mother sit in an exam room for over an hour without checking on her. After an hour and ten minutes she left and the doctor had the nerve to call her back and yell at her for leaving the appointment! There was no one at the desk, no one walking around, no one anyplace. My mom is 80, and this doctor yelled at her!! The doctor told her that some of her patients wait four hours for their appointment. Not to mention the place is filthy!!
HIPAA is broken all the time Doctors are unprofessional dont care about the patients dont listen to the patients and even when you do what they say they dont keep thier word then avoid you. The office manager is no better. I have been waiting 5 hours. I have waited/waited 6 hours in the office before!!!
I seen Dr. Mathia. First I waited an hour to be put in a room and yelled at for 2hrs. I have slipped disks, degenerative arthritis in my back, Lupus, and Endometriosis. I was scolded like a child and they tried to for Suboxone on me and spinal injections. I’ve already done injections they made things worse. She cold took me off my normal meds and put me on a patch that is much higher than what I’m on. She said I have a different condition than what my MRI and test show! She will not listen, I am allergic to latex and she still forced me to take a medication that contains latex in the glue. She stated several times that she wouldn’t help me and no one else would either! Then in between belittling me she would leave the room to go fill prescriptions for other people. Everyone in the Waiting area that was waiting for her complained about her as well. They were all trying to switch to another Doc in the office. She also didn’t care that taking me off one of my meds will send me into a lupus flare. This office is very unprofessional and uneducated! If referee her RUN as fast as you can!!!
Dr Mathai is wonderful. I just wish she would find a decent place to to work. She is the best thing about this place. You have to wait for hours just to get medicine and it is always very overbooked. Sometimes standing room only for people who come there with pain. They have to stand up. Dr Mathai sent me to the other part of the clinic where they do procedures. I went for the first time today. I signed in and asked the person there who I found out is named Tonisha and from that very second she behaved hostile to me. She told me she was doing something and told me to have a seat and she would be with me in a couple of minutes. Then she got up and left with a patient to the back of the clinic. 38 minutes later and several people who worked there asking me if I saw her. I went back there to ask another worker who was seated in a small office was I going to be tended to. She pointed at Tonisha who was headed back to reception. Tonisha said I told you I would be back in a couple of minutes and I do not sit there all day!! I told her that couple of minutes was now 38 minutes. Instead of going back to reception she decided she would talk to the worker I was just talking to leaving me to sit in the reception area alone again. I do not think that that was professional behavior and for some reason she seemed to dislike me from the start. I just left and called the orthopedics associates where they are professional and do not make you wait and are courteous to their patients. This place is just awful!! Dr Mathai see if you could work at Orthopedics assoc of SW Ohio. They would welcome such a great doctor as yourself. You are too good to work there!
I saw Dr.Reddy 2 times. The first time he was talking to me bout cutting on my back to some kind of Attends things in there, Also, Wanted to do a skin graph test. Plus, he didnt want to put me on my meds that I was on when I came there. He instead went against the insurance company and myself on how the meds made me feel and was going to make me take something stronger than what he had me on last week. Then when I told him no he said I was an addict so I wasnt getting my regular meds.
You no its been at least, 6 to 8 years when I left that crazy place. I was looking for another doctor and happen to see Dayton Pain Center and started reading some of the comments. All are telling the truth. The place is dirty and the employees act like they dont care and yes one of the doctors yell at me and I put him in check right then. And told him, you have the wrong one. I told him you dont talk crazy to me and he backed ..OFF. Their were a couple of employees that were nice, and one doctor that I remember. But thats all it took, my child dont yell at me. But every comment I read is, ARE ALL TRUE!!!!!
Ive been having to go to this place for 10 months, not by choice, Ive never been on any type of medication til this past year. I have fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, hypothyroid, and some severe pain in my hips and lower back and have currently been referred to a spinal surgeon. I never see an actual doctor anymore, I see a PA. who doesnt seem to understand English very well, for a few months I was trying to tell him my meds were not helping, he constantly cut me off and wouldnt allow me to even speak, before throwing some very insulting accusations my way. So for 3 months I never spoke a word to this man, and let my vitals to the talking for me, even though my BP was pushing 195 over 105. He never acknowledge it. Finally the pain has gotten so bad Ive begun running out of meds. I called to report the problem only to be told I will still go 2 weeks without meds. I reguest to see the head doctor there only to get the same PA. Who walks out , then walks in and tells me my meds have been cut, and Im walking on a fine like, and all I want is a wow feeling, thats why I wanted my meds adjusted. Insult after insult, I was quite upset , they had me in tears, I needed their help, seriously, needed a doctors to listen, and instead, Im insulted, meds that barely help me kieep hanging on cut, then to add insult to injury the front staff have to be the ones to tell me I actually have to have councilor sessions before Im seen again... The only thing nice about this place is the office staff, I only hope they get treated better working there than I have as a pacient being treated there by these doctors. Ive seen my family doctor and have finally asked to be referred elsewhere, to a place I can actually have a doctor pacient relationship , instead of have to see this PA again who still prescribed me a med that was counteracting with another med I was on which caused my tounge to swell up. Even after I told him twice I could no longer take it. Sadly Ive was told by my family doctor , it could take up to 6 months to get in somewhere else. So now what can I do ? I need these people help. Not ridiculed, and made feel like less of a human being just for having to go there.
I didnt like this place much. They are forcing pain patients on Suboxone to treat pain. This is an off label usage and they are forcing people to take it or leave it. Once they force you on Suboxone you have to go in every week to every other week and attend a counseling session each visit. This increases billable sessions and how they can bill you. Suboxone is more expensive too. It was horrible. It made me vomit for hours each time I took it. It was the only medication I was taking. When I told them about all the side effects I was having they refused to put me back on my original medication. I have no addiction issues to result in me being forced on this. Beware of this place.
This place is a joke Ive seen dr reddy the first time second time seen the woman pa she said i didnt have the medicine in my system and i did this month i seen another doctor this month he said i didnt have my Percocets in my body so they had me take another urine sample had a guy who works there in the restroom with me watching well they had me wait in the waiting area for three more hours waiting for the urine test to come back called me back up to the window said i was selling my pain pills the doctor said i hadnt n my my medicine in my system cause i called my family doctor right then he sent me to the hospital they did another urine and blood work it showed the Percocet in my system .My family doctor going to send me somewhere else causehes got anothet patients complain sbout this placeNot a very good pain management doctors who yells at you not listening to the person
Dr Redding is a Dr who put a morphine trial pump in my husband back 10 years ago. 15 minutes after I got him home he was dead! Stay away from this place its dangerous uncompassionate. My husband hated drugs he didnt overdose untill the morphine pump, plus never took blood pressures had to have help to put him in the car over medicated. be aware of walking in that door
This is the most uneducated, unprofessional, uncaring, incompetent place Ive ever been to! Watch your charges very carefully. This is a legal drug house and these incompetent doctors are irresponsible trying to get everyone addicted to suboxone! After my family doctor was giving me pain medication for several years I had to start going to a pain management clinic. After 3 years of doing everything that they have put me through, all the hoops to jump through, they decided I should go on suboxone. Why? They must get some kind of kickback from the company because I noticed that everybody was getting switch to suboxone. They told me if I wanted to continue to be a patient I had to quit what I was taking and go on this drug. I looked up this drug it is very dangerous! I believe I am paying you dude and its my back and I should have some say in my care at least an option! As most Indian men, they treat people, especially women, with such disrespect. I needed to remind them I am an American woman and you do not talk to me in that manner and you do not call me honey. I will be looking further into this case as I have noticed a lot of things that were not right. If any other patients have noticed things and would like to talk to me feel free to get ahold of me through Facebook with my name.
Absolutely the worst experience.! Waited 2 and half hrs, my mom has stage 4 lung cancer and they have no ventilation what so ever in the small room straight out of a horror movie. All the while most of the ppl are sick in there. Needless to say we never seen the doctor. If you go there I suggest using a face mask, plenty of purel, immune boosters and dont expect to actually see the doctor at all.
Unprofessional, uncaring, in it for the money. Always overbooked and never on time. Could care less about truly helping a patient. The worst medical establishment Ive dealt with - and Im just a spouse of a patient who has to suffer through their rampant incompetence. If I could rate them a zero, I would.
Nothing to like! Another pill mill for sure. Dr reddy a former VA MD. Knows the system. I will not return. The VA had me on 170 mg oxycodone dr reddy dropped to 20 because in his words you people! I ask him what that ment and he then let me know who was in charge. I got off the oxycodone myself now 6 months. If you an addict its the place to go. Or go to Dr Bruce Kay. Another pill mill. The VA knows this why do they send us there? No more for me. If the pain clinic operates like that Ill tell where to go and may show them the way. Under no circumstances will any one treat me so disrespectfully. Count on that. Shop around if the waiting room is full , you have uneducated staff and rude dos as well as hours waiting your at the wrong place.
Hurry up and wait have waited up 2 three hours just 4 Tony 2 see the doc in spfld they. Need someone in there who can schedule.if ur 15 min late u must reschedule. So I guess our time means nothing.they no we will wait there are not a lot of pain doc 2 choose from.the doc is good but if u have trouble during the month good luck getting any one 2 return up calls
They deserve negative stars. If you have to drive 2 hours to avoid this place, do it.They are supposed to be getting a prior authorization then calling me to schedule. Its been 3 weeks and I havent heard from them. I tried callung last week during normal hours, but no one picked up. I called back today and it rang 30 times before saying all lines are busy and ending the call. I tried again and finally someone picked up. I was passed around to three different people trying to find someone that knew how to look the information up, before being put on hold. Then while I was on hold, they hung up on me. I tried calling back, no one answered. Tried calling back again, and someone answered only to put me on hold and then hang up on me again.
They don’t have any Handicapped Buttons but have mainly elderly people, how can you redo a office but not think about your main people, I come every month with my client and your telling me all they can do is shout when it’s your turn but not Help Ummm, no door stops anywhere ! Like who cares except the ppl who come here you have to be on time to get out late Crazy
They are incompinant I was told dr matai didnt write a prescription so it had to be called in and they never did...... I called the dayton office and they kept hanging up on me, would put me on hold for fifteen min. at a time till i hiung up and called back. Now i have to go to the er to get pain meds to last till tomorrow and hopefully then someone with a brain will answer the phone! Because my dr. asst. is very helpful and would make sure i got it!
This place deserves no dam star dr matya needs to lose her license she works at Sidney Ohio pain center she has my Grandma addicted to Vicodin’s she prescribes my grandma 80 Vicodin’s s a month and my grandma takes them inless than 2 weeks now that’s all my grandma thinks about is pills and dr matya Wont stop giving them to her because she’s getting paid every time a person sees her they have to pay they need to shut the Sidney place down period and I will be getting a lawyer and suing dr matya Because my grandma is not going to OD
Sad. This place is pathetic. If you get recommended here better off not going then going to your doctor and asking for a different refural to a different place. And if you owe them money I hope your not on auto pay because they wont take the money out and then turn around and charge you a late fee since they forgot to take out their payment

2022-08-12I have been a patient here for 15 years. Ive had several surgeries done by Dr. Reddy. Staff is wonderful. No problem with Dr. Reddy or staff except with the woman that heads the billing department. (MRS.REDDY) She is rude, mean, cant understand people run into problems sometimes that interferes in paying more money on your account. I have never missed a copay. This is extra cost they charge that your insurance will not pay. Insurance should protect us from the doctors that go back on their word to insurance co to accept their payment for service then charge the patient what insurance does not cover.

2022-07-23Ive been going to Dayton Pain Center for over 4 years & recently had my income of SSD taken from me due to what I had said in my counseling sessions. Down to my buying a new washer & having to step up on a stool to get clothes out of washer. So Unfair! I THOUGHT what I said while in counseling was supposed to be CONFIDENTIAL!! I asked for transcripts & was ignored!! The only evidence SSD had on me was what I had said in counseling! While Im making a review may as well mention the receptionist who takes 30 to 45 min to give you your prescription & next apt card. Any other Dr. Office your checked out immediately. Guess being Ive lost my Medicare I wont be a patient there very long! Your forced to see a counselor but dont dare tell the truth about whats going on in your life if you receive disability. Ive hired an attorney & if I can beat this case I will then Im suing for negect of hippa laws

2022-04-13I have been going to Dr Lita Mathai since 2013, and she is my favorite Dr. She is very caring of her patients, and takes her time with each one to really understand their chronic pain issues. I would highly recommend this office, especially Dr Lita Mathai, she is a wonderful person! The wait sometimes is a bit longer than I would like, but its only because the Drs take their time with their patients.

2022-06-28Today, the US Supreme Court unanimously (9-0) holds that doctors authorized to prescribe controlled substances can only be convicted for violating the Controlled Substances Act when they intend or know that they are prescribing in an unauthorized manner. The Court specifically rejects the view that doctors are criminally liable if their prescribing is not in accord with current medical standards. The difference is important, and especially so for doctors treating patients in pain, who might otherwise be deterred from meeting the needs of their patients by the fear that disagreement with their medical judgment would subject them to serious criminal liability.National Pain Advocacy Center filed an amicus curiae brief in the case arguing about the chilling effect on prescribing of the current state of the law. We are thrilled that the Court fully adopted the standards and reasoning we argued for.More detail:Justice Breyer, writing for the Court, specifically singles out the chilling effect of overdeterrence and the importance of distinguishing morally blameworthy from socially necessary and beneficial conduct (i.e., the conduct that an authorized prescriber engages in - prescribing medication for her patients).Justice Breyer writes, “a strong scienter [or mens rea] requirement helps to diminish the risk of “overdeterrence,” i.e. punishing acceptable and beneficial conduct that lies close to, but on the permissible side of, the criminal line.”The opinion also addresses the “vague, highly general language of the regulation defining the bounds of appropriate prescribing,” and the importance that providers not be convicted criminally for what is essentially negligence:In rejecting the standard offered by the Government, Justice Breyer writes, “the Government’s standard would turn a defendant’s criminal liability on the mental state of a hypothetical “reasonable” doctor, not on the mental state of the defendant himself or herself.”It is also important thing to note is the concurring opinion by Justice Alito, in which Justice Thomas joins and Justice Barrett concurs in part, agrees fully with the Breyer opinion that the appropriate standard is the subjective state of mind of the prescriber. The government had argued for an objective state of mind standard which we considered to be an oxymoron, and which no Justice agrees with.#supremecourt #medical #prescribing #pain #controlledsubstances #doctors

2022-08-03I have been going here for over three years now. The only reason I put up with the over 3 hour wait is because I like the one doctor I found out of the whole practice. This place is horrible. Forget about calling in to make an appointment or for any other reason. I will try for days before I finally get someone to pick up the phone. This place has way more patients than they can handle. They over book themselves and do not have the staff to cover what needs to be done. I have a BA in health care administration and am a certified medical biller and coder, have worked in healthcare for over 10 years and have never seen anything like it. The patents all sit in a large filled waiting room complaining about the wait. Often you will be whiteness to arguments between staff and patents regarding the wait. I strongly suggest they stop taking new patients, double booking the doctors get more staff and a multi phone system with staff to handle it. Calling days in a row and no one picking up is crazy. I have tried 8 times just today.Update: I have noticed an Improvement the past couple months. Its almost like they read my review. It seems they put in a different phone system because now when you call they answer. Also the wait has decreased. Its an average doctor wait most days. The said thing is the doctor I had and loved left 😭. Mist if the staff is friendly now, maybe because they are less stressed. Good improvements, keep it up! Because of these changes I am changing my a rating from one star to three.New updateI have been trying to get someone to pick up the phone for 2 weeks to make an appointment. The line is busy, just rings or it is picked up put on hold or hung up on. How are we supposed to follow the rules if we cant make an appointment??? Going back to one star.

2021-11-22I made an appointment with ALL medical records!I seen Dr Reddy 1st 2 visits. Both times prescribed medication I am allergic to……I was scheduled to have a biopsy done to see WHATS WRONG WITH ME… but had all my records. They couldn’t do the procedure so said I refused…. Why was I there then. My goodness. Then they were supposed to do injections in my knee. Never did.Seen a nurse practitioner 2 times. She messed up my records said ma medication wasn’t in my urine. But someone else’s was!! What?Seen another Dr. He thought I needed to be counseled with my condition … what?He said oh my. The injections didn’t work I see.No. Cause I didn’t receive any. WOWWent today was there three hours again! Long wait times. Long wait …To see a counselor & Dr Reddys nutty self. He was training a nurse and was trying to use me as an example.I have RSD and CRPS. Had over 21 years. He tried to Tell her I’m an addict. Hell no. 🤣You might want to go further for any type of pain mgt unless u just want to be drugged. They don’t prescribe enough medication to get though two weeks let alone a month. I take 220 Tylenol a month on top of their medication. 🤦♀️Try self medication. They don’t help!!!!

2021-09-28Absolutely horrible. My physician referred this place. To start with, it took me several days of calling to even get someone to answer the phone. My physician network even called me to see if we made an appt. I informed them that no one answers the phone nor has called back since I left a message. Finally I got a hold of them and made appt. Pain center doctor saw me and had me order MRI. MRI facility called night before to cancel because the pain center doc did not send clinicals. They did not know if my insurance would cover the procedure or not. I went through with the appointment but had to sign a waiver that if insurance did not cover, I would have to pay for it. Had appointment to see pain center doc a couple days later to go over MRI. Waited 40 minutes only to find out that the doc was in surgery and they had no idea when he would be done. They said I could wait or reschedule. Well, since I have to take off work each time I didnt want to reschedule. Then they informed me that they dont have the MRI and the doc has no notes for them to look over. After waiting in an exam room for 20 more minutes we walked out. I called my physicians office and explained. They were not surprised stating that they hear this kind of report about this center all the time. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to go.
