Quite possibly the rudest customer service experience of my life. Booked a room for my mother for when she was driving through the area and had an issue with the page loading online which led to booking the wrong night. Its all fine I called customer care who were helpful enough and they couldnt do anything on their end to reimburse, gave me a reference number and told me that it would take a week to get resolved. I booked another room for the correct night and waited for the communication. Later I received an email saying After a review of your concern, the best resolution would be achieved by direct communication between the property management and yourself. All good so far. Im on the west coast and a three hour time difference. I tried multiple days calling only to finally hear that the property manager is not in after 12:00am. Finally today, which would have been the day of the mistaken reservation, I got a hold of someone. I mentioned the situation, they responded with we cant cancel within 24 hours, I mentioned that I went about cancelling already. Potentially, all of that initial conversation can be handled with care and lets talk and whats the reference number that you have from Wyndham but it went straight to contention. No hint of concern, Im sorry, really, anything other than rude customer care unbefitting of the hospitality industry. Her name was Jules.
The hotel itself is dated but I did not expect anything else. Our room was clean but dont expect breakfast as promised on their website; just coffee, fruit juice and a small bowl of fruit cocktail. The higher price over the nearby motel 6 would be justified if their promise of a breakfast was kept.
Not great place to stay. We found one need bug, no breakfast as advertised, never cleaned up the room despite requesting it. Yes, it was filthy. I had to disinfect the room, sink, and bathroom. The workers dont communicate with each other to follow up with my request to clean the room. They used a poor excused: COVID. Yet, none of the workers were wearing masks. No swimming pool despite online advertisements. I expected better especially traveling from New York City to see my family on a vacation.
Positive: Bed was comfortable and refrigerator worked. Negative: No coffee pot. Was not told till checking out that you had to request one. That wasn¿t the way the room was listed when I booked. Was told checkin was 2pm and couldn¿t,t get in till after 3.. Also the rooms had an ordor.
Not a good value. When taxes are included, you are looking at $200 for a three night stay. Due to the caliber of the inn, I’m surprised about 2 things. (1) It’s in the Wyndham Group. (2) Amherst allows it to be there. My major complaints were horrible water pressure in the shower and no maid service during my 3 night stay. The appearance of the place is rundown inside and out. The middle-eastern staff were not friendly. Probably don’t like working there. I read there was a continental breakfast and asked about it. There is none. However, there is a huge area near check-in for that type of breakfast. Pool is not ready and looks so horrible, I don’t know if it will ever be ready. On the bright side, the TV service was ok. I checked for bed bugs, of course, and did not find any.
It was an ok stay, but could have been a lot better. The staff was friendly! There were a lot of people wandering about the place, I think they might be actually living there. There was no breakfast, no pool, no in room coffee, nothing other than free wifi. The bed felt like someone had draped a sheet over a concrete slab and put it on springs. The comforter was actually hilarious, it wasnt a comforter at all, it was another sheet! So you get your concrete slab to sleep on and two thin sheets, have fun freezing! Dont think you can warm up in the shower either, because the water just barely trickles out of the shower head. At least it was quiet overall but the area is kind of shady. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for not being up to Wyndham standards. I felt bad for the staff who was clearly doing everything they could despite the owners being negligent on the property and room conditions.
Seriously a little unnerving to walk up to your floor and have to go through a metal door with a slide lock on the outside. When you open the door its a hallway with another door just like it on the other end. Not sure what the purpose actually is, but it made me think the worst. The rooms were not well kept. There wasnt even a bag in the garbage can. Glad I didnt bring all the luggage up. We didnt check in until after midnight and the check in girl was really nice though.
I do not recommend this motel. It was essentially unmaintained. Carpets were old, door safety latch was broken off, comforters were stained, the sink drained slowly, and bath faucets did not work properly. We had a four-day stay. In the morning of the second day, I asked why there had not been any house keeping. I was informed that multi day customers did not routinely get housekeeping . I was told on request I would be given the service if I wanted it. I said, please do. I made the request for the next two days. Each day I came back to a room with no house keeping provided. Eventhough I come to the area periodically - I will never stay at this facility again. The Wyndham brand should be embarrassed with this facility.
Positive: It was mostly clean, the staff was pleasant, it was conveniently located. Negative: Bed was rock hard, towels are threadbare and tiny, water pressure in the shower was terrible, the doors need to be scrubbed they are really dirty, and the bed had only 2 thin sheets on it.
Doors didnt close all the way and was a little skeptical of falling asleep at night for the nights I was there. Also staff is very obnoxious and does not tend to their guests needs etc. Had to buy my own extra pillows and blankets on beds had blood stains, puke stains and cigarette burns not to mention ice machines did not work nor did the mini fridge in the room. We will not be recommending or staying at this hotel anymore
This was the most awful experience I have ever had. 1) I was catfished into a smoking room. When I made the reservations, I specifically asked for a non-smoking room but since those were all sold out, they defaulted into giving me a smoking room. 2) The front desk was rude and confirmed that they catfished me into a smoking room but refused to give me a refund. 3) didnt just smell like smoke. Also smelled like weed.....strongly. I had 4 kids with me, we cant stay in a room that reeks of weed. We left and are disputing the charges. I hope the police raid this motel for all the drug activity going on.
Ive stayed here a number of times due to the proximity of where I want to visit while in town. The rooms always smell of smoke so I bring along some air freshener each trip. The pool was STILL closed on July 4th weekend. The breakfast bar is also closed. It may be under new management, but it is the same old 2 star motel. Probably the worst Days Inn Ive ever used.
I was very disappointed in my stay at the Inn. The place felt & looked dirty, really needs a face-lift. There was no pool, breakfast, just WiFi offered, so I felt paying over $100.00 a night was too much. The noise was terrible that I was unable to sleep. I stayed over to get a good nights rest so I could then drive back home the next day, well that didnt happen. No one at front desk asked how my stay was or anything, just took my credit card. So I wrote a review on booking.com & now on this review.
This Days Inn is in the midst of a slow renovation. Its old, but largely clean. Its very affordable. The staff were helpful. Beds were comfortable. Due to Covid there is no breakfast, and the pool is not available either. If you dont mind a little dust and must inherent in an older facility, its fine; the TajMahal it is not.
Don’t stay here. Dirty and disgusting. Rented a king room for me and my boyfriend and the room was so dirty we ended up leaving. Blood stains on the door and the chair. Mattress protector had dried up gunk, and dirt in every corner. We picked this hotel thinking it would be better then the motel 6 next door but it wasn’t. Very grossed out and do not recommend.
I have stayed here multiple times and the service has never been amazing but this time it was absolutely terrible. At check in, I was not told I would be charged $119 per room! When I checked out and got the receipt I seen the charges and asked about it. I was told I would get $51.75 per room back to my account. It has now been 5 business days and the money is still not in my account. I have called 3 times and supposedly spoke with a manager who said its my banks fault. I called my bank and there is NO pending deposits from this company! I want my $103.50 back!
Awful dont go there! 😢 They didnt clean up room, I had to ask for towels, it didnt have breakfast and swimming pool looks like always was closed. Man in the from desk said because covid-19 and I what??? 🤦♀️ thats why it should be more cleaner so hello! 😡 anyway we had to stay there 6 horrible nights 😱 because they didnt refund Us money back 😠
Room had a bad smell, carpet is old and dirty, room door was filthy with dirt marks. Shower head was dirty. Door latch was broken and door needed to be lifted slightly to even engage the door deadbolt. I dont expect exceptional accommodations at a motel-type room but this was really bad.
WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE. Front desk attendant was nowhere to be found anytime we needed service, which happened to be often because there were SO many things wrong! Rooms clearly hadnt been cleaned recently, even though we had reserved in advance and the hotel had time to prepare for our stay, but there was trash from past customers. The room did not include basic amenities such as toilet paper and hand soap. This was all somewhat manageable, but when we went to bed and unfurled the covers, the bed and sheets REEKED of urine. It was very strong and absolutely disgusting that they would expect their customers to sleep in such conditions. I am extremely disappointed with my stay and will not be staying at Days Inn again. DONT STAY HERE, there are many other similarly priced hotels that have basic amenities and non-reeking beds.
Helpful staff, decently clean bathrooms but the main light flickered, the ice cube container had mold spots and the lampshades, pillows & comforters all had stains. Room 207 They are capable of getting better though and they did have a lot of signs to require you to wear a mask and the pool is closed. Its also cool there is a 24/7 Dennys right next door.
This is by far the worst hotel Ive ever stayed at. The staff was fine. Cleanliness was far from fine. It was after midnight when I arrived so I wasnt about to go searching for a different hotel. Bed sheets were stained and there was hair on the bathroom floor. I was concerned about bed bugs so I slept on the chair. Photos attached, so decide for yourself as to what was on the sheets. You get what you pay for.
HORRIBLE experience. Rented 3 rooms there. In one of them, the door latch was super lose, and it fell off the door frame when I tried to engage it. Didnt think much of it and didnt report it immediately. When I checked my credit card statement, I noticed they had fined me a total of 400.00 for it!! They never bothered to inform me either, they just took it out of my card! One fine of 250.00 plus they kept my 3 deposits for each room (50.00 each) EVEN from the rooms unrelated to the door latch!! It took me endless phone calls and complaints to even get the manager, Patricia, to answer or return my calls and she was not willing to change anything. She claims I engaged my door latch and then forcefully entered my own room from the outside. Logic prevents that from even being possible. If I lived there, I would definitely take them to small claims court. After a few months they finally refunded my 3x50 room deposits but still kept my other 250.00Very very disappointed. If you stay there, be sure to check your card statement afterwards.
I wouldnt stay there ever again!!!! It smelt old and musky. The front desk service was bad it took so long for them to respond well let me say they didnt respond had to go up front ourself and get what we needed. I have stayed at alot of places this place was the worst of all. I wouldnt stay there again👎👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Came from out of town to fish for walleye. I was happy with the stay here at days inn. Very reasonable pricing, friendly employees, rooms had everything we needed for our stay. Lots of parking for boats, quite area of town, within 5 miles of everything restaurant wise and stores. I would book here again. With that said, if you are looking for a 5 star suite this is not the place for u. If you are just looking for a clean room to lay your head down at night on a very comfortable bed. Book a room with these guys.
I checked into this Days Inn around 2:00 AM along with my wife and six other people. It was too late to get another motel or we would have. First off, the motel is located behind another business in a rather dim lit parking lot. The hallways were disgustingly dirty and looked like they hadnt been cleaned in months. The rooms also were in need of a thorough cleaning. They say you get a free breakfast. I would hate to have paid for it. They were out of several things and the person that was assigned to keeping it stocked, was also the desk clerk and didnt seem to be concerned when I informed her of the problems.I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially for $90 a night. Ive always had only good things to say about Windham, but not this time.
The staff was okay. We stopped here on our way home at the start of Labor Day weekend. There were multiple stains on the furniture, carpet and decor. The free breakfast had rotten produce and cold coffee. The coffee provided in the rooms is the worse that I have ever had. It was some generic brand that did not have a label or state who manufactured it. Part of the reason we stopped here was not only for the free breakfast but also the large pool pictured in one of the main photos of their hotel. The pool was closed during labor day weekend! I dont understand that. There was water in the pool and it looked to be ready to be swam in swam in. Many of the staff were just standing around. Not a great experience for my Family. I guess we had a place to sleep but had to do so in dated and smelly rooms.
The room was decent I suppose, there was a wad of someones hair on the floor, which was disgusting. And there were questionable stains on the comforter, they honestly looked like blood. They bathroom also had lots of others hair all on the floor and in the tub. The staff was very nice and helpful, and answered all questions we had. It was just the cleanliness of the place that was left to be desired.
Low price,......here you get what you pay for. A cheap room, and a very sparce breakfast. Im struggling to find much to communicate about this motel. We arrived in town very late as our flight schedule changed. Not wanting to awaken our friends, we opted to grab a room. While we did not encounter live bugs.. dead ones were abound. The staff was friendly. And the room door did lock. So..? We lived to tell about it.
We stay here quite regularly but lately been disappointed with some of the changes ... They got new towels - these are like rags you would buy to clean your car- plus in our most current stay found Lifesavers and caps for some type of drinks on the floor. Glad they seem to be remodeling some of the rooms as the rooms were quite outdated but to be so skimpy on thing like better towels doesnt seem right.
They are trying to update this place, which is desperately needed. My second room has new carpet. The towels are worse than my rags at home. The location is good, though the entrance is awkward. Very nice staff. Hopefully, the criminal activity in the back rooms comes to an end. The pool is closed all the time, so Covid just gives them an excuse. The Under new management on the sign has been there for years.
This was the only hotel that had rooms available at the time we were needing a room. We checked in and our room was not cleaned, there were at least 5 rooms on the floor that had the doors open so I am assuming they were not cleaned either, no smoking room was smoked in, my kids got sick from the yogurt served at breakfast, bed was very uncomfortable, hard to say anything nice about this place really. I would never recommend this place to anyone!! Only nice thing I can say is that when I told the clerk about the unclean room, she upgraded us to a king room with a pull out couch. I honestly do not see how this place is still up and running.
Reserved a room 1 1/2-2 weeks out. We checked in at about 5pm. We went around to the back of the far building and our room was on the second floor. So we fill our arms and grab our 2 year old daughter and climb the stairs(which looked as if they hadnt been cleaned in forever). The ceiling tiles where falling out as well. Get to the door and open it. To our surprise the room hadnt been cleaned. There was plenty of time between the person ahead of us checking out(11am)and us checking in(5pm). We go and inform them of this and they apologies. So they give us a different room. We ask for a discount and they said because wed reserved thru Expedia they couldnt. Which to me is absolutely stupid. So they extend our check-out from 11am to 1pm. Whatever. So we go about our day and do our activities. We return that night and shower. Our TV required two remotes. One to switch it to HDMI to actually watch it and the other to control channels. Everytime our TV got shut off we would have to call the front desk to have them come fix it. When they did the very first time the volume button wasnt working and told us wed just have to get up to change volume. It took me fiancee a matter of 5 minutes to look up and reprogram the remote to the TV and low and behold the volume button worked!! While I was laying down for bed my fiancee was brushing his teeth and moved the coffee pot they have on the counter and hears a sloshing noise. Pulls the pot out and there is old coffee in it!! Mind you the filter holder was upside down as if it had been cleaned. Absolutely disgusting!! We decided we wanted to stay in Ohio one more day(and all of our stuff was already in the room so we werent going to find another hotel for 1 night) and when we inform them of the old coffee in our room the next morning they take off maybe $10 for that night. They also had a dumpster behind the poolhouse that smelled as if it had never been emptied. We tried enjoying the pool but constantly smelled trash and rotting fish. Was not satisfied in the least. If zero stars were possible thats what I would give.
No garbage can, no bathroom lock, so cups, no tv remote or working tv( tried to get them to fix it for 3 hours and never did ), no phone, desk broken. water smells like soil, not all of sheets were on bed, pitch black when pulled up no lights were on. Terrible service.
Absolutely disgusting! The worst experience in my travels. From blood stains, dead bug smashed on the wall, toe clippings on the floor to old food stuck to the TV. When I complained I didnt even get an apology. The woman at the desk said, Ill let housekeeping know its really dirty. After that I didnt bother to mention the smell. By the way, theres a no refund policy. Oh! Online it states they are pet friendly... until they swipe your card. Then they tell you no smoking and and no pets. Unbelievable.
They stay was excellent and being greeted at the front desk with a smile & a hello was more welcoming! The girl had a tattoo on her neck which was very appealing and her smile was breath taking! The girl that was leaving the shift was rude and yelling on her personal phone about a ride which shouldnt have been done in front of a guest. Apologies came strong from the girl with the tattoo on behalf of her rude employee to a warm welcome in their hotel, cozy beds, 24hr on call service and 6am-9am breakfast. Rates are affordable and as long ass Miss Tattoo is working at days Inn, You will be treated and taking care of properly! I recommend the stay to anyone!!!
We booked this hotel through hot wire and we really enjoyed our stay. First of all, we were grated at the front desk by someone actually sitting there despite how late we showed up. He was extremely friendly and gave us a free room upgrade. He also gave my toddler a pen, just casually being a genuinely nice person, and my daughter loves pens. In the morning at check out, the front desk lady have our daughter a sucker. The service was top notch and for that reason alone they earned the 5 stars. I personally liked the room more than my wife did, and she enjoyed the breakfast more than me the next day. Over all neither of us could complain about a thing and definitely feel like we got our monies worth.
I woke up at 2:30am to find bedbugs crawling and biting me. Adult ones, mixed with moving white/greyish dots - which leaves me to believe the infestation has been there for a while. One of the most disgusting experiences Ive ever had.For your own sake do you not stay here. The receptionist was nice and apologetic, but said she could not give a another room without physically charging for another room on my credit card (I had just awoken to bedbugs biting me!!).The charged for another room on the other wing - I checked the mattress and it seemed ok, but still didnt sleep at all.I had left my phone in my friends car and wanted to take a picture of the bugs I had squashed on the mattress, but when I came back the housekeeper was already changing the seats. I asked if she saw any bugs she replied simply No bedbugs.I asked for a refund from the morning receptionist and he said he couldnt do anything until the manager Julie got there. He was unapologetic and said simply people come in all the time and they bring things to the hotel.I wish I had read some of the previous reviews - particularly the one posted most recent before mine. This place is in denial they have a bedbug infestation.
We would have been safer sleeping in the car. 1st room wreaked if weed. My poor 8 month old grandson, demanded some munchies. 2nd room the heat was off, it was 52 degrees. It took an hour up to come up to temperature. The desk clerk was nice, but this is definitely a no tell motel.
Only had a 1/4 roll of toilet paper only had 1 cup in the room and went to make coffee in the morning and it did have the coffee holder with the pot. The sheets were stained in various places but cleaned. The pool was discusting they have been working on it for 2 years and the only thing that was holding water was a rubber liner they put in. Or it may have been used to cover the unfinished pool dont know. The place does need some work inside and out.
I’d leave less stars but it won’t let me. The hotel is nasty. The common areas were filthy. Hallways looked like they hadn’t been mopped in a week the stairways hadn’t been vacuumed in days. The television in our room didn’t work properly until the third night. After numerous excuses and then changing out the remote and cable boxes I demanded a new tv after that no tv issue. The bathtub didn’t hold water. The sink plug was broken. We booked this hotel because it had an outdoor pool and we were told it would be open. It was not and looked like it won’t be for a very long time. The cleaning was lax. We didn’t get cleaned the first day was told that we said not to clean it. That was not the case at all. The staff was rude and didn’t care about our issues. Rude and disrespectful!!! Offered no discount for our problems. Will never stay there again and we are in the area a lot. Edit 5/30/18. Dear Owner in response to our staying there again... won’t happen ever again!!! This was our vacation this year and it was a nightmare because of your hotel and it’s rude staff. False advertising for the pool is still on the website and we were told it was removed. Never again thank you anyway. Training in people skills is what your staff needs.
I am ok with dated hotels, but this hotel I would not recommend. Pool was closed and water looked green. The garbage had not been taken out of our room from the previous guest. There was only 1 bathtowel left in the bathroom (there are 4 in my family). The shampoo/conditioner was half empty so it was obviously used. The tv didnt work and my husband had to fix it. And probably worst of all the back door, which should be secure, was propped open all night. Didnt try the breakfast because we just got up and wanted to get out of there.
This hotel is disgusting. We asked for a non smoking room over the phone but when we got there they would not accommodate us. We checked it out anyways and was much worse then u could imagine, dirty, smells and not much worked. We were told we couldnt get our money back by the rude guy behind the counter. We went down the street and stayed in a nice hotel for the exact same $. Unbelievable they could stay in business.Bruce
1 star for having electricity, heat, bed and tv. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Greasy carpets & peeling walls, room stanked of animal and cigarettes. Scummy bathroom. The drains were barely working. Our coffee pot was dirty, and the chairs in the corner was gross of grease stains. The room overall was disgusting and just seemed poor. The breakfast is the same... very poorly put together. The last chance this hotel has to make things right, just reminds you of how bad and dirty it is. Just bread, a crummy toaster, a dirty waffle maker, cold coffee, fake juices and apples. Took us 14 mins to check out .. literally. This would be the last of the last place to go.. seems like management is tight and doesn’t want to spend money to renovate what clearly needs to be. It’s a great location for Amherst but seems like the police are addicted to patrolling that particular spot on the area. Maybe from the drug dealers living there.
We had to wait 3 1/2 hrs past check in to actually check in the room has a musty smell, sheets are damp, large stain on bed spread and light doesn’t turn on all the way not to mention cable doesn’t work. Worst stay I ever had will never stay here again. When we complained we the manager yelled at us and called the police on us.
Would never stay again!!! The first room they gave us I went to take a shower and now water on the cold side. When I called the front desk she acted like it was ok. Well I wanted a shower, she replies she will get someone to come and fix it well after a while I called back and she acted like she had no clue what I was talking about. This is taking place after 11pm so finally she calls back and request a new room which I had already done and she told me they had no more rooms. Well the second one smell moldy and I couldnt breath and the beds was tiny when the first room we had was king. The room smelled really old and musty. Would never stay again. I usually dont write bad things about places and I have done a lot of traveling but I would never stay again.
Well, cheap looking place but a high dollar room price. Swimming pool had green algae growing in the little bit of water that was in it and it was summer which should mean open pool. The area around the pool was disgusting too. Beds hard and lumpy and old smelling. They sure dont spend any money making their guests feel comfortable. Front desk run by rude Indian person and not American Indian but either Pakistani or India Indian. Wont ever spend a night at a Days Inn ever again.
Do not go here, all I can figure is the last people who reviewed are friends with the owner cause this place is a dump! Dirty outside, dirty inside. Very old and run down. Smelly! When we checked in, the young lady had an attitude problem. She told me they had no record of the requests I made for a fridge and microwave in the room. I wrote down all the information and recorded the day I made the request, just in case. She said there was nothing that could be done, and the fridge and microwave were in someone elses room now. The breakfast is pretty much cereal and they actually screwed that up! So just go to a better hotel and bring a box of cereal. Save yourself the trouble. At one point someone was cleaning the floor of the hotel with a leaf blower. This place is just straight ghetto.
1st 24 of a 3 day stay 😳😳😳 to add injury to insult... Handicapped room without having the option to secure from the inside. When my concerns were addressed.... Management stated after 1st 24hr in ... All I can do is apologize and move your room?. I declined... One even better as she made those issues her opportunity to save face whether then provide the appropriate reslove to me the customer! God Bless ✨
This place is run by crooked management that takes no responsibility for the actions of its employees, and it has no security. I booked a room days in advance for a single king bed at this location for my fiancee and myself. This was to be a pleasant one-night stay during a family trip over the weekend. Instead, it turned into a nightmare. First, I was assigned to the wrong room with double beds that I couldnt get into because the key card wasnt correctly activated at the desk. I went back down to get it fixed, then went back up and found out it was the wrong room. After going back to the desk a second time about this problem, we were reassigned to a room at the rear-corner of the back building, first floor. The minute we stepped into this room, we were locked in because the door knob was broken off. I had to call the desk to have the clerk walk to the room and let us in, only to discover the reason this knob was broken was so anyone could force it open without a key. The room had an adjoining door that was also unlocked. This second room felt like a setup and was extremely shady. There was clear prostitution and other suspicious behavior being conducted by several occupants of the rear building, and this did not seem to bother the employees in the least. We were moved back to a room with double beds anyway. At this point, we realized my fiancees purse was missing. It was left back in the first double beds room, and had been taken by either the current young occupant who was there immediately after we were moved, or likely the clerks themselves. The police were called, a report was made, and everything possible was searched -- but no one admitted to anything. This was the WORST POSSIBLE STAY at a hotel ever experienced, and I WOULD CAUTION EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT AT ALL COSTS! I am still undecided on requesting filing charges against the hotel employees, possibly more. I would give this hotel zero stars if that was an option.
I didnt request an adjoining room but was given one, which made me feel very uncomfortable. I also found aunts in the room and an unsafe wall plug. The room was clean and they offered a great complimentary breakfast. My overall experience was good, and the price was right.
Not even worth a star...room was dirty..food items as well as case of beer from previous customers left in both frigs.no coffee pot in room but lots of coffee pods...water was cold and never warmed up..could not take a shower no hot water...dust everywhere headboard on both beds was loaded with dust.. Sheets were wrinkles everwhere...not sure they were clean scary the rug was trashed sweeper was not run...the place was i thought not covid safe...and i will be calling someone in regards to this issue...cause i asked for a total refund and stephany the manager was suspose to return my call and never heard from her....i would not recommend this tradhy place
The staff was lovely and super nice. They helped us out unlike the motel 6 next door who tried to over charge us like crazy.the place was nice i have no complaints about the place the room was big compared to other places weve rented from. I recommend this place to go and we will continue to stay here for vacations
Upon entering the room, the air was horribly musty (turned the ac on and it helped a little). The back of the front door was dirty and grimy and the bottom of the frame was rusted through. There was a hole in the wall from an old door knob. There were scratches on the wall from I think furniture movement. The molding of the bed frame had been ripped off exposing raw wood. The corner of the vanity mirror was broken with sharp edges. The paint on the bathroom door was peeling off, there was mold and mildew on the floor of the bathroom and some sort of nasty stain was on the tub. I checked the sheets and bed and saw no stains or bugs so since it was so late (1:30am by there) and we needed to sleep we decided to go ahead and stay the night. The next morning, breakfast was ok but right in the dining area was 3 big yellow bins of laundry! My son begged that we go swimming after breakfast so I said ok, big mistake. The bottom of the pool was slimy and when my foot touched down, a plume of brown wafted up! We immediately got out, showered and checked out. When I told them about what we had experienced, I was told a manager would call – never did! Be warned… DO NOT STAY HERE!
IT DOESNT SUCK... Quick summary; good price - $55 with a coupon from booklet free at Turnpike rest areas - 10 minutes from Turnpike with unusual and confusing access from local road (you basically turn into arestaurant parking lot and continue behind it where the motel is located), nice, clean, and comfortable room. Rating negatively impacted because there were no outlets available to plug in my laptop or charge my phone and the lighting was inadequate for reading.I was checked in by owner/manager who was very friendly and polite with me, but somewhat (and with good reason) curt with an employees relative calling to say that the employee (the girl with the neck tattoo as it turned out) had been in the hospital that morning and wouldnt be showing up for her shift which started in 15 minutes. Apparently this was an ongoing problem with that employee, but I suspect most customers really wouldnt need or want to know all that, although I simply found it interesting.NOTE: WHEN checking out 12 hours later, same fellow was at the desk, as pleasant as before. On being questioned, he admitted he had been there since 7 am the day before so he was on the tail end of a 32 hour stint. My hats off to him for maintaining such a pleasant demeanor. If I was rating the staff, this would be a four star review at least.I had a second floor room with no elevator or luggage cart available, and a poorly lit parking area which couldnt be seen from my room. My room had a king size bed which was very comfortable, a combination desk and chest of drawers with a 30 TV on it, a refrigerator, microwave, and an upholstered side chair. There was a small table lamp on the desk, and one on each nightstand on either side of the bed.The the room appeared to be neat and clean, but it is the most non-utilitarian setup Ive seen in the last 25 years. The only real problem was a sink that wouldnt drain well. If the only criteria you care about is a decent place to sleep overnight, Id rate this stay 3 or maybe 3.5 stars.Unfortunately, Im used to a few modern touches. Call me spoiled if you like, but after 8-12 hours on the road, I like to fire up my laptop to upload pictures Ive taken and check my email, and maybe do some work as well. Then I tend to read for an hour or so. But I could do none of that in my room. The ONLY available electrical outlet is the one by the sink. And I dont mean the outlets were all used (they were, but thats not my pount), they were behind the bed or the refrigerator and simply not accessible. Twenty years ago that would have been extremely inconvenient, but today its ridiculous. My laptop battery died in the middle of transferring pictures from my dash cam, and I had to leave my phone on the vanity yo charge overnight. And I didnt read a page of my latest Robert Crais story. The not very useful table lamps were fairly new, so it perplexes me that they werent the type with an outlet in the base, which is a common feature in many hotels. That indicates that the owner is either cheap, out of touch with the market, or both.On the other hand, service was top notch, there were no bedbugs in my clean and comfortable room, it didnt stink, and it was pretty cheap. So as I said, this place doesnt suck but....
Filthy! The toilet wasnt cleaned, the dressers had sticky stuff stuck on them, dead bees laying around, no towels, the coffee pot had coffee in it, apparently days inn cant afford a sweeper or a house keeper to clean the rooms. Very outdated which I can live with but the filth I can not! Yuk!
The only thing I will say for this place is that it was cheap. But you get what you pay for. The bedding looks like it was from the 1970s with staining on some of them. I noticed the alarm clock was unplugged next to the bed. No big deal until I try to plug in my CPAP for sleeping and the outlet sparks. Then I notice the lights above the bed are also unplugged. Obviously someone knew there was a problem. The bathroom has peeling paint. As I write this I am still trying to figure out how I am going to sleep. I am not a happy customer. I generally dont write reviews but I felt the need in this case. If I could rate it below one star I would. Tomorrow when I wake up I am going to speak to a manager. Stay away from this place!
The room has everything, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and flat tv. I give it 5 stars because I cant give them more. The room are clean the air conditioning is very good, and the woman ho check me in was very friendly ... When I return to lorain i will come to this same hotel I would not think twice about it...
ONE WORD: HORRIBLE. Check in process was delayed due to a complication of computer systems being down. The front desk staff was rude. Stayed for two nights (really only should have stayed for one). Rooms were in 233-235 it was a double. Upon entering you were greeted by a strong musty smell, honestly hard to even describe. Out dated rooms including beat up furniture. Thankfully the air conditioning system worked at least. We were away most of the day, but when it came to sleep the beds felt comfortable until the BED BUGS. Around 12 or so my partner and I asleep, I felt something on my legs. Sure enough it was the nasty little pest. Turns out theres a whole lot more where that came from as I continued to search and found over five, including young ones. The morning came and after getting no sleep I was hungry, and the breakfast was extremely disappointing with stale, or spoilee food. I couldnt even eat a solid breakfast. Thankfully there is a Dennys right near the front. Night two was more bed bugs and which leaves me with six bites on my upper half of my body and four to five on my lower half. Check out didnt come soon enoughBOLD:: Long review short: Dont stay here.
Not a great place to stay. I was coming off the road so I just wanted a bed to sleep in, but TV is at least 15 years old and the remote buttons are all worn down and hard to use. There was trash under the night stand next to the bed, water pressure in the shower was abysmal and the large towel was tiny. The Continental Breakfast was barely some cereal and pastrys and some already made waffles you had to toast. If you have time to do some research before you stay I would recommend skipping this place, not worth $80 a night.
I WOULD NEVER STAY at this hotel again!!!!There were 3 grave issues with this nightmare of an overnight stay.Although we paid for a non-smoking room, the room had cigarette smells in it.The main issue that really sucked was when a male housekeeper just barged into the room without knocking. I had just finished getting dressed and was sitting in the chair. My man had only been gone less than a minute before that male housekeeper barged into the room without knocking. When he barged in, he didn’t even have a surprised look on his face. Keep in mind that checkout time was 11am and the barging in took place about 10:15am. Immediately, I jumped up out of the chair and asked him what he wanted. He looked at me and pretended that he didn’t speak English. I closed the door and called the main desk. I told the person at the front desk what had just happened, and that I did not like their POLICY of training their help to barge in on their guest without knocking. When we were checking out, I told the woman at the front desk that I was still going to write a review about what happened here and their policy of allowing employees to just barge into an occupied room without knocking. Immediately, she offered me to give me a discount on my next stay. I told her that there would NEVER be a next time. She finally decided to give me a slight discount on this bill. That discount proved to be another nightmare as well. To add insult to injury, she charged me close to $400 instead of giving me a discount.I WOULD NEVER STAY at this hotel again, and I would highly SUGGEST that YOU NEVER STAY here as well. You never know who will barge in while you are getting dressed, taking a shower, and or standing over you while you are sound asleep
I stayed here for a weekend August 2009 and because you thought i was going to cedar point or somewhere else you charged me almost double for 2 nights, i got a king size bed, some of the lights didnt work but overall it was nice, even after almost 11 years i remember my visit, was visiting my girlfriend and her family at the time.
I truely wish you could put negative stars cause even one star in my opinion mean they have a good quality.... Which is extremely inaccurate this is the nastiest dirties most foul hotel I have ever stepped foot in. I turned right round and got my money back and left DONT STAY HERE. Ive been in retirement home and gas station bathrooms that smelled and looked cleaner then this... GO ELSEWHERE... anybody that said positive things about this place is either related to the owners or junkies... Or a combination of both. DONT STAY IN THIS DUMP!!!
I checked in 8-24 i was first put in a smoking room which i asked for non smoking i was moved next door to 137 where it smelled just as bad as the smoking room the bed was not made and the floor had obvious crumbs (from the previous guest )not wanting to make yet another room change i decided to deal with it only to go to take a shower and find half empty bottles of shampoo and conditioner (from previous guest) the tub was black and the toilet had dried urine on it my wife went to ask houskeeping for towels and found them sitting on a bench talking and cursing loudly with a little boy(looked to be a housekeepers child she brought to work with her) no older than 5 with them listening to it all.My wife and i decided to buy our own towels from the walmart next door ive stayed at several whyndam properties this by far is the worst housekeeping staff ive ever encountered the front desk staff and on site maintenance were lovely..but due to cleanliness we wont be back
Entry door frame was shattered and repaired haphazardly..see picture..inside bathroom door was equally in poor shape... basin drain in sink completed rusted...carpet stained badly... hallway baseboards missing..rates were being raised the following day of my stay..its another poor example of a foreigned owned and neglected property.
NOT WORTH $80 A NIGHT/ FIRST OFF THE ROOM WAS HARD TO FIND. THE CARPET HAD STAINS ALL OVER IT. THERE WERE SMALL BLOOD STAINS ON THE SIDES OF THE BED. THE SHOWER HAD MOLD AND THE PRESSURE OF THE SHOWER WAS WORTHLESS. THE BLANKETS SMELLED LIKE A PISS DIAPER. AND WORST OF ALL U HAVE TO CHECK OUT BY 11AM AND ALL OTHERS R BY 12PM. NEXT TIME IM GOING TO THE MOTEL 6 NEXT DOOR I HAVE BEEN THERE AND IT WAS WAY BETTER
Bad place, the room smell like wet dog by my 6 year old, to us moldy, the room was dirty, looks like they dont clean it only in the center of the room, the bath tub was very dirty and hair in the floor, one of the beds have dirt on it under the covers like they didnt changed after the other person left, we arrived late otherwise I cancel.
Visit wasnt good after I settled in bought food water put everything that needed to be refrigerated in the refrigerator went out come back to find refrigerator not working went to the desk let the clerk know the refrigerator wasnt working she apologized 2days no refrigerator im very disappointed

2022-06-30Booked a room to attend a funeral. When we arrived we wefe told that are room was not ready that they were still cleaning it and it would be about an hour before we could check in. We went to get something to eat while we waited. Once we were able to get into the room it smelled strongly of bleach. As a few of us took turns to change into our dress clothes in the bathroom. After we were done we realized that all of our black pants had bleach marks on them, ruining the only clothes that we had to attend the funeral. There ere also m&ms on the floor even though they just cleaned the room.

2022-03-28Whilst the location was great and the service was par, the rooms were something else. We found a t.v. dinner in the microwave (luckily it wasnt moldy). The desk chair had an unclean spill, that was sticky. There were crumbs left all around the floor. The restrooms were fine.

2022-05-09Positive: Close to food, stores, on/off ramp. Friendly staff. Quiet when we stayed their. Negative: No ice machines, ¿breakfast¿ was a fruit cup and coffee, no housekeeping until you check out so if you need fresh towels you have to ask front desk for them. Our sheets were inside out, shower was dirty had hair in it.

2022-05-29Do NOT STAY HERE!! BED BUGS!!Had a reservation for Friday May 27th through the 29th. We were booked in room 219. It had bed bugs and we took pictures and video of the situation. Our booking was made through reservations.com.Upon trying to get a refund for our stay a lady by the name of Amu told our representative that she could not issue a refund and we would have to call back in an hour when her manager comes. So now I am waiting an hour to see if the hotel will issue a refund.Update.We spoke with a manager by the name of Jules. It was as if she didnt believe our situation. She did say that she is calling terminal and IF they determine bed bug activity THEN she will issue a refund. I asked if she would like us to submit our pictures and videos and she refused. I will be posting the videos upon arriving back home so that we can download them to the computer. My fear is that they will still rent out that room before seeking help. Jules also said she went to the room herself and didnt see anything Im wondering how quickly terminex will get there on a holiday weekend? Long enough for them to tidy the room up to change the sheets and claim there is nothing there?2 bugs were spotted on the bed my youngest was laying in closest to the window and 1 bug was crawling on the bed to the right of it.So here we are 4 hours away from home, unable to even get a refund to stay elsewhere. Soooo... the car it is.She also made it sound like this is their standard protocol when someone claims there are bed bugsHow many people have claimed there are bed bugs then? And why on earth would we risk closing out our room near midnight for a 3 queen room to fit 5 people knowing that it is a holiday weekend and rooms to fit our bunch are non existent? I dont know if people do this regularly but that is not what we do. Smh..Our reservation was booked under Mauro Raucci and I am one of the guests. Also, the entire conversation with Jules is available to review if anyone would like and depending on the outcome we will be contacting our attorney come Tuesday. Please remain patient until I can post the videos and photos.Do NOT stay here. The gentleman at the counter in the evening was more than helpful and super sweet. He offered us another room and we politely declined. Bed bugs are a hotel wide issue.Otherwise.... The rooms are not bad and the 3 queens are a plus. Its a little dated but hopefully they are still working on that.Amu was a very sweet lady as well.We enjoyed sitting outside on the bench prior to knowing there were bedbugs just to relax from our drive.I will update the review at that pointon if the hotel refunds our money back. After this instance, I searched the reviews and it appears that Jules or Julie has been here for a few years and many reviews have been made about bed bugs. Please look for yourself.

2022-05-31Positive: Hotel was in a convenient location. Staff was great, check-in and check-out was a smooth and easy process. Negative: The doors between hallways made it feel like a basement/dungeon. The door didn¿t lock when closed, the rug in the room was damp, the room smelled a bit, breakfast wasn¿t exactly a breakfast. It was a dole fruit cup and juice or coffee/tea.

2022-06-01I am waiting to hear from the manager. I contacted Jules and let her know about the bed bugs incident which caused us to check out maybe an hour or so after arriving. I was told she was going to call terminex and if they think there are bed bugs then she will refund me. I was not told how soon they would come out or when I would hear back. And she wanted nothing to do with reviewing the photos and videos of proof of what was in the room. It was as if she didnt believe a word I said. The room was 219. I was completely frustrated with the situation as I was not expecting to vacate a room around midnight to try and house our group to another location on memorial weekend. After looking through the reviews, I see this has been an ongoing problem and I only wish I would have done some research myself. I will be in touch with the hotel, and if need be, I will also contact my attorney to see if anything can be done.If a guest has proof that there are bed bugs and the owner does not wish to view it, it leads me to believe that IF the exterminators find nothing (perhaps changing the bed sheets before hand?), she will go ahead and keep renting the room out regardless of the videos and photo evidence. Im sure that has to be grounds for some legal action.I will update this review if she contacts me and offers a refund. At least we would know she is compassionate of the situation and has integrity to follow through.Today is May 31. The hotel was contacted and a lady by the name of samantha answered and said because of the holiday they were unable to get terminex in until today and they should have an answer tomorrow. But once again, we have proof there are bugs.As you can see below the hotel chose to respond to the review rather than directly in a phone call. Today is June 1st. It is being said terminex came out several days later and no bugs were found however we found several. This leads me to believe that room 219 will continue to be rented out regardless. Our next step is contacting our attorney.I dont know of a hotel that will NOT look at proof of what we had as evidence and dismiss it. Beware!!

2022-06-02This is not a DoubleTree, you will get what you pay for, but the rate is incredibly cheap and we were accommodated after midnight while traveling through the area. Motel is outdated, hallways are eerie, but it was clean and safe in room 215. Don’t expect anything fancy. Amanda at the front desk is a super star and was very friendly and kind!

2022-05-29Zero stars for everything. DO NOT STAY HERE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!BED BUGSBED BUGSBED BUGSBED BUGSThe people who work there are rude (probably the owners) and will only speak in their native language especially if you ask them a question they have to discuss the answer in their language for a minute with each other and then will provide a one word answer and its usually not what you want to hear. And they denied me a refund even though we only stayed 10 minutes to document the BED BUG INFESTATION!!!!!PLEEEEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We need to put this place out of business it is the only way they can understand that a disgusting place with rude people should not be tolerated. Dont be surprised if the place gets condemned by the health department or they have a fire to claim the insurance, it is their only hope to get out from under the most disgusting hotel I been to in years. These people will not admit it is full of bugs and Wyndham corporate doesnt care each Days Inn is independently owned and operated and they will continue to operate this way until you STOP STAYING HERE.
