Davis Motel in North Lima
I stayed here for about 2 weeks in June, so Im late with this.The room was clean, yes dated, but clean is more important imo. Staff was friendly and location was quiet. Like I said, I stayed in June. So a bug or two would follow me into the room, which is to be expected. But I swear someone went around every morning and cleared the spider webs and bugs off the doors, cause what I saw when I got in late was not an issue when I left in the morning. They missed cleaning my room a couple times, but that was no big deal. They apologized and brought me clean towels or asked housekeeping to come back. I had a non smoking room, and it did have some cigarette smell in it. But some Febreze vent clips on the ac solved that issue for me. Wifi was fast, better than most hotels Ive stayed at, I was able to get lots of work done. I would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean. TV clear and loud. The bed was a little to hard and a little small. Nice and quiet.

Well my family and I stayed here for one week and no one have us towels and we had my wallet went through out of my car and about $200 in change taken out of my car and neighbors complained about my children that had medical problems.

Ill echo what others have said. Welcoming staff, clean room, and great location. All I needed was a bed and a shower, and they provided both for a perfect price. I will be back!
Struggling here on a 4 or 5 star review for this place.Needed a place near Youngstown as all other hotels in the area were booked. Found Davis Motel on CLC and checked the reviews. All were pretty spot on and I even got an upstairs room.While the hotel and room was dated, the staff are great and the room was comfortable. Just like everyone else has said, you get a gift bag.The bed was a bit firm for my liking but I was still able to get some sleep. Even had a smokehouse next door so I could get some food.Here were the only downsides.The bedsheet had some stains and a few hairs. The bathroom sink didnt drain very well. I was way to tired to really care as Id only had 2 hrs of sleep in a span of 24hrs and needed rest.Thanks for a nice little piece of historical Americana that is still family owned. Ill be back again someday if Im ever needing a place along the turnpike.

Very clean and hospitable. We stayed 3 days and are still here as I write this. We will be back and are already planning out our next stay. My husband grew up around truck stops and he was right at home. GREAT food nearby and everyone is super nice. A diamond in the rough.
Positive: This was a cute litte 80s decor motel. There was a nice little lady that greeted us and was most helpful. We even got a gift bag. How refreshing to stay someplace that wasnt a cookiecutter hotel trying to be something theyre not.
Rooms are very clean everything works like it should very quite and a nice store attached! I got my little brother the newtons magic apple and I know he will love it!! Very very friendly people😊

Old and worn. Everything. Carpet, sink, tub. Even 4x4 needed for the driveway. And....Bed bug. They did move me promptly.

Like I always say, “read the testimonies of others.” This is a 10/10 for the price. Yes it’s dated, but hey it’s clean, greats staff, and a quite location. I travel and I couldn’t be happier with the room for the price. Very well managed.
I love this motel! Very clean, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, ice. Close to the big Rogers flea market and the highway. The staff is very nice here. Feels like a real home away from home!

Always taken care of, rooms are older but its a truck drivers hotel. Well Im back again this is probably the 8 or 9 time Ive been here. Like other reviews the out side leaves a lot to be desired. But the rooms are clean and well maintained. Wish they would put a coat of paint on the out side. If you need a place to stay this is better then some of the chain hotels in the area. You cant go wrong.
This was my second stay at Davis, and the hospitality was friendly and generous. The front desk staff out of his way to ensure I enjoyed my stay, and the room was spacious, clean, and comfy. Very affordable as well. Great experience.

Never had a motel give me a gift bag when I arrived. I wont lie it looks like the bates motel on the outside and was slightly worried when I first arrived but the interior of the room is nice and clean, Front desk guy is very nice as well.

Cute little motel! Clean, convenient, 3 beds in our room was perfect for a family of 5! They are even pet friendly with NO extra charges!!! Excellent value for our quick overnight stay! The ladies at the front desk complimented how cute my kiddos were and gave us a goodie bag of cookies and treats too. Beds were comfortable. Air was perfect and we ever got FREE bagged ice unlimited! Loved our stay.
The Davis Motel is so much more than a motel! Not only is it clean & well-kept, the staff is above & beyond friendly and helpful. I booked a room here while I’m passing through Ohio for business, and Murray and his brother run the most incredible, welcoming establishment I have seen in a long time- they even offered me an iced cold beer just for staying the night. After a long day at work, I couldn’t ask for more. I’ll be coming back to stay here in my future travels through North Lima, OH. I strongly suggest you book yourself a stay here too, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
What a great hidden gem! Lovely, clean, well lit, and efficient room. Recent upgrades and smells nice. Was smoked in, in the past, but is non-smoking. Looks like a truck stop 50’s roadside motel/diner. Don’t be deceived. The hospitality is huge, the people are welcoming and friendly. Inexpensive and yet convenient to both Pittsburgh, Cleveland and surrounding outdoor and other fun activities. You won’t be disappointed.
This place is what other reviews have said about it- looks dated from the outside, but nice, clean, tho small rooms. However, we were not able to stay the night, because I have an extremely sensitive nose, and although clean, the room smelled very strongly of smoke. When my husband went to return the key, they were very nice about it, and even gave us our money back without us even asking!
Like a total idiot, I ran my uhaul into their carport at midnight and bashed it up. Even so, they were extremely kind, understanding, and accommodating. They made me feel at home and as if I were among family despite being a nuisance that had just ruined their night.The room was very cozy and clean, and a great value for the price. If Im ever in the area, Ill stay again, and Ill make sure to avoid doing further structural damage.
Found this place on tripadvisor. Perfect place to stopover while driving to Chicago from Philadelphia. Its literally 1min from the highway. When we arrived, i was a bit skeptical about the place but then when we got our rooms, we were happy. Basic clean room with full television. The beds were comfortable.if you call them ahead, then will give you a discount for booking over phone. All they did was take my name and number. Paid using credit card at the hotel. Very nice people. Free coffee was descent.
Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. Room rate was very affordable. My only complaint was my 17 year old turned on the TV and got an eyeful of porn as soon as the TV turned on. I was not real happy about that. I guess some may want to watch that sort of thing, but at least dont have it so accessible the moment the TV is turned on. But all in all, I would stay here again. I just wont be watching TV. But the staff was super nice.
Better than I thought. Big deal for me was truck parking and plenty of it. A pilot right next door as backup. Its not what it looks like. This is a nice step back in time. Super friendly owner and staff. Room was clean internet was great food nearby. Everything but the high price. If you need a place to stay. Dont hesitate. Its well kept and nostalgic. My grandpa probably stayed there.

For and old motel this has got to be one of the best ones we found!! And my husband & I had plenty of room to park our semi truck & trailer too. VERY CLEAN rooms you will not be disappointed. Theres a microwave,fridge,REALLY good clean working air conditioner,allowed our 3 dogs,have smoking rooms & non smoking rooms,I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this motel to you all. We would stay here over ANY new motel any day. Theres also a Pilot truck stop right next door. Very nice people here! Id give this motel a 10 star if it allowed me too.

Positive: That they refunded my money because I was very disappointed . Negative: Cigarette smoke , marijuana smell , and some of the long term tenants were hanging around outside watching what you brought in to your room or left in your vehicle and not in a good way .
We chose this place because it was affordable and all the reviews said it was clean. And clean it was. I have a sensitive nose and didnt notice any smell. I guess it may vary from room to room but no complaints here. The ac was cold and the service staff was very nice. Highly recommended.
Stay here. I needed a place for me and the kids to stay overnight during a long trip. I searched for motels near where I we would be and found this gem. They had a $49 listed price but a five star review so we booked a room. They lived up to the review. Very friendly staff, safe location, great tv, and we had a pizza delivered based on a menu given to us by the guy at the front desk. Great stay. Not a pretty place, but everything else cancels that out.
The lady at the front desk was kindness itself! The rooms are dated but spotlessly clean and exceedingly comfortable, the place reminded my of my Grandmothers house. I enjoyed my stay and will certainly stay there again.

I came to see my dad, who is visiting from Georgia. I have stayed at many hotels and motels in my life. His room was small with 2 beds. The first thing I noticed was how clean and fresh the room smelled compared to others I have been in. Its not a fancy place, but ut doesnt seem run down either. I will definitely recommend it to my family and friends.
Awesome Hospitality!! The office lady (Beth?) makes GREAT COFFEE, and she is the best conversationalist . The cleaning ladies got everything we needed. Very Friendly. Roy the maintenance man had some good stories to tell. Got to meet Barry. Will be back next year and to hopefully meet Murray. A must stay. :>
Best place around!!! Awesome CDL discounts. The owner is super nice...they even sell beer!They have rooms with 3 beds, awesome bathrooms great water pressure. Great place!! This is our new go to place. Try the ranch house next door its awesome too. Pulled pork is where its at!
I like these kind of motels. Old school. Price was good, plenty of parking for trucks/trailers, tons of places to eat within walking distance, pet friendly.
It really feels that the motel is family-owned. it is definitely not new, but it is clean, the reception is great and you can see that they really care. almost everything that youd want to have for a short stay is there.also a nice steak bar just steps away.
We drive from DC to Michigan frequently and this is our go-to place to stop for the night along the way. It’s affordable, super clean, dog friendly, and right off the highway. The staff are also very accommodating. Highly recommend!
The Davis is very clean and comfortable. I always check the sheets and the were spotless. The rent is around half the other local franchise motels. And it has a BBQ/Bar next door. Will return on my way back.
Best cheap stay over ever! The rooms are so clean. Complimentary welcome bag. Staff is so sweet. Its out dated but dont let that scare u. Enjoy ur stay! I did.
A cozy hotel in North lima Ohio, its just 5 minutes south of Boardman on market Street, its easy to find and convenient. The office is open 24 hours, and is set up alot like a small convenient store, selling candy, beer and drinks. Its right next door to a restaurant that is tasty and works with the hotel, including ringing your room when your takeout is ready. The owners are very nice and helpful, the rooms clean, and they even give out free adult entertainment on the tv. They were so nice, the next day, they invited us to their hummingbird festival which was also the owners daughters birthday, and we all enjoyed sangria and hotdogs while listening to live music.
This is very inexpensive for what you get, the room is clean with the small things that you need, microwave, refrigerator, power outlets, flat screen TV, hair dryer and if you want to relax with the drink they sell alcohol at the front desk.There are several restaurants that deliver or there is a Pilot truck stop next door with a McDonalds. They do have a restaurant on the property that is currently closed but well open some time in the future.

Dont judge a book by its cover! Our room was bigger than expected for having 2 very comfortable beds. Davis motel is by far the cleanest motel I have been in and the staff are wonderful. Another plus is a luandrymat on the premisis. I would recommend this place to any one.
These guys have nice rooms and Ohio having the Pittbull as a dangerous animal they were ok with him staying.. they didnt have breakfast as far as I know. But I will not take points off for that. The rooms had microwave and refrigerator super please tv had great selection and the was CLEAN 👍👍👍👌👍 👍👍👍😁

Its a nice motel for the price paid. The room was clean with refrigerator and microwave. I needed a place to spend a night and this was perfect for me. It is definitely recommended if you are looking for a cheap and good place to spend your night.
This family has kept their motel up to date, clean, and inviting for decades. I agree with all the positive reviewers. The age and curb appearance can fool you into thinking its a dive--it is not! If you have kids just know that there is an A-B switch to watch free adult movies.
This place is okay for value and if you just need a place to sleep at the last minute. The rooms are really small but you do have a microwave and small fridge, a desk and clean sheets.You can grab a case of beer at the front office and McDonalds is next door.

NEVER judge a book by its cover...Upon arriving, my guests from out of state (whom I was putting up for some remodeling work on my home) were at first put off by the appearance of the motel. Very old fashioned, 60s and 70s style drive up motel with exterior entrances. Assuming just what the HELL did I get them into was the initial response UNTIL they met the staff and saw the room.Friendly, inviting and welcoming, check went VERY well with an acknowledgment to my guys of my having called ahead of time to confirm their want of 2 doubles with the ability to smoker in room. That was beyond whatd you get from the high priced, fancy establishments anywhere else.Upon entering the room, you have to admit it does look like something outta the Brady Bunch den but the first thing the guys said was how clean, well maintained and welcoming the room was. Yes, a bit dated with wood paneling and an older TV AND you do need to bring your own toiletries BUT but this is a no frills type of motel where you still get a fridge, microwave and free wifi that stayed strong during my guys stay. And for the price (less than $50), you just cant BEAT IT!If youre looking for simple, budget friendly accommodations that still offer smokers a welcome and a very pleasant and helpful staff, I suggest (or at least my remodeling team suggests) the Davis Motel. I doubt youll be disappointed. Unless youre expecting the Sheraton or Crowne Plaza. And if thats the case, you should have gone and stayed with them and spent an additional $125 more!THANKS Davis Motel for making my workers stay very pleasant! They look forward to staying with you again!
The customer service was absolutely wonderful. The rooms were clean and well kept. I think my only complaint would be the noise of the truck stop, but that isnt the motels fault!
A small hotel with no frills but what is needed. Free wifi, tv and parking. Clean and quiet. Nice owners/staff. They told me of some places of interest near the town. Got my goody bag with water, cookies and candy.

The place is not much from the outside but its real clean on the inside and the people are nice. The hotel also sells beer in the office so thats a plus. They will also give you a free beer if you stay a week😂
Location isnt too far from many stores and cool little attractions.. really nice guy at the front desk, room was great for the price, had a welcome pack with brochures candy water etc... very clean, quiet place...looks can definitely be decieving!

The room looked nice when you walked in, but before you climb into bed, check under the blankets. We found crumbs in our beds.😠 We had to go to a new room.
Just straight south of the Ohio Turnpike exit 232 on Market St. (Rt. 7). The place is very convenient with no red lights or turning. Very clean, affordable and friendly. I highly recommend it!

This is the second time I have stayed here. Its not a high end motel by any means but they strive to keep it clean and the guests happy which goes a long way.

Friendly and professional staff that welcomes truckers, he offers a free beverage of your choice for staying there, and a free 2018 calender that sucks on your dash, if he has any left. I stay here anytime Im in the Youngstown ohio area.

Enough parking space for big trucks and space to turn no problem. A liquor store on site. Nice restaurant and bar too. Etc.

Davis Motel.... Where do I start. This place is a true GEM among otherwise lackluster accommodations. We were fortunate enough to get the 3BDRM, equipped with a retro bubblegum pink shower, with the state of the art 30° swivl shower head with adjustable pressure. The goodie bags hit the spot after hours of an arduous road trip. It was like pulling back the curtains of time when we were handed an ACTUAL KEY upon check in. The sweet lady at the front made it clear that she was there for us at every becking call. In closing, the simplistic elegance of this motel cannot be overstated. We highly recommend staying here. I will be returning in the future road trips. P.S. I was sadden to see that the blue door renovation was not completed.
Place looks like a crack house on the outside but rooms are surprisingly clean.Would be more comfortable in my room if not for a HUGE desk right when you open the door.Who is gonna be a businessman doing business in this place?A chair would be much more useful.The lady is nice so far.Check in is easy.

2022-03-12Stayed here twice now. Its an inexpensive stay in a good, functional room. Everything was clean, service at the front desk is 24 hours, and there are some interesting undocumented features with the rooms.All in all, if I cross the nation again at this latitude, this will be my destination for lodging.

2022-05-10As soon as I walked in the office door I was never more happy with a motel then this place. The front desk is awesome, the room is just what a trucker needs. AND the free drink made my long day PERFECT! I dont travel this way very often but I will definitely remember this place and stay here as much as I can!! Also theres a BBQ joint next door that I have heard nothing but good about.

2022-02-07Great place as always. Fantastic reception with the beautiful ladies- called to the next door BBQ place and asked do not close till I will come for the dinner. Good clean rooms and nice spot for the truck parking. Special discount 10$ for CDL and free any beverage from the reception “bar”. Thank you!

2022-04-01For its size and price point it was an excellent experience. Room a little small and dated, however it was cleaner than some of the big chain hotels. Semi parking available was a plus. The staff was absolutely amazing to deal with. I paid for 2 nights and only stayed 1. Refunded Immediately for the 2nd night. Will most definitely stay again should the need arise. 2022-07-08As a huge fan of cheap traveling my family thoroughly enjoyed this motel. Upon arrival this run down looking motel with a great retro feel made my son super excited. The man who checked us in was sssssoooo nice, we booked on hotels.com and chose the cheapest option, one bed queen. Upon arrival he saw we were traveling with a child and upgraded us to a three bedroom room. He gave us an awesome free goodie bag with snacks in it and we really enjoyed our cheap retro stay

2022-07-11I was only there because, My car broke down And was waiting on a tow. This place just place just happen to be near good luck you’d think seeing the good, made up reviews. Was really considering to stay until my car was repaired but oh oh no! don’t even know where to start. Firstly was met by the rude lady at that front desk with a horrible attitude and there was a smell like no other. Anyway I decided just to pay for a night regardless. When I got to my room there was that smell again… at this point I was like I’m out but on the other hand, I really needed a shower and didn’t feel like arguing with that rude lady about a refund. So I went into the bathroom and it looked like a scene out a horror movie slash horder show! I haven’t seen a shower so moldy and grimy in my life the towel had brown stuff all over it and man that smell was radioactive. Long story short I just left and didn’t even bother to ask for a refund! Obviously they need it way more than me it was like a golag. So anybody thinking of coming here Don’t!

2022-03-24An old building that has suffered years of weathering. Old rooms with outlets that fuzz when you attempt to plug into them but are so worn out your prongs slip right out. My room was clean and functional though. The staff were polite. Not a family friendly place as adult movies are immediately available at the flip of a switch attached to the TV. Not my first choice and its only slightly better than sleeping in your car.

2021-12-30I used to go too Davis hotel a few years ago the entire family worked there at that time. The cleanest hotel in the area. Nice people great prices and if you pay in cash you can get it cheaper just ask how much if you pay in cash. The rooms are nice and clean but you save normally @$20.00

2022-02-17My family and I moved out from California and have been staying at the Davis Motel a little over a month while waiting for our home to be ready. Our room is very comfortable and clean, staff has been amazing. Family owned and operated providing great service and very affordable rates for a quiet and comfortable stay. Plenty of parking for RVs and semi‘s, CDL rates, One minute walking distance from two travel centers, McDonald’s, and a barbecue restaurant. And my personal favorite,Pizza Joe’s 1 mile away delivers fast and has amazing hot wings and pizza, also decently priced!Lookin to do a little shopping? 4 miles north of the Davis Motel on Highway 7-(Market Street) are large shopping centers, Walmart, Best Buy, Golden eagle grocery store, etc. Various retail shops east and west of 7 on Highway 224.The Davis Motel is conveniently located for your shopping wants or needs.👍🏼👌🏼😁🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💫
