Be prepared to not be answered at all or to be put on hold for 3 hrs. by the time you actually speak to a rep, you’ll be lucky if they’re anything but rude and of no help at all. Btw even if you reach someone they’ll put you on hold for another hour or 2 and forget about you completely. been calling all day, hours on hold and only got to speak to a rep for barely 60 seconds before getting put back on hold and I eventually hung up. tried to call back and get scheduled for a call back and they don’t even call you back. Horrible
The entire staff here is incompetent. You will easily wait an hour to speak with someone on the phone just for them to just pass you off to another person because they dont want to/are incapable of actually doing their job. I have an extremely urgent matter in regards to my sons healthcare that has been ongoing for months now and I STILL cant get anyone to pick up the phone and help solve the problem. This place is the absolute WORST!!!
My appointment was last Thursday I called and did a call back which they didnt call me back till the next day! Then they told me the their site was down and couldnt access my information I said alright I will call later. Called later n they still couldnt get into my information told me to call next week. I called today 9/14 at 12 waited on hold over 15 minutes then hung up. Just called back now at 2:30 for a recording saying they are having technical difficulties and said call later! If I lose my stamps during this pandemic I will be contacting the news station! OPEN UP TO THE DAMN PUBLIC THE PHONE NUMBER IS USELESS! Then again welfare is useless & workers are just lazy this call center is WORTHLESS!
Every time I call to speak to a caseworker I am put on hold and never reach anyone. EVERY SINGLE TIME. In fact, Ive been on hold now for 40 min. I just have simple question to ask about my wifes benefit status.Update: On hold for 46 minutesUpdate: On hold for 55 minutesUpdate: On hold for 1 hr 7 minUpdate: On hold for 1 hr 15 minUpdate: On hold for 1 hr 36 minUpdate: Finally picked up 1 hr 45min later.Update: After 20 minutes of giving information that I already provided in the online application, the case worker tells me that she cant get something to work, and that shell give me a call back in 10 minutes.Its been two hours and I havent received any phone call yet.
They take FOREVER to answer and then are rude af. They sent my re enrollment notices to an address that I have not lived at for over two years when they have my current address. The lady kept bringing up moot points about my mother and who passed two years ago as well. They did not care that THEY messed up and now are leaving me with lapsed insurance. Mistakes like this could easily cost lives!!!
This review goes out to the automated phone system, that many before me have complained about. Calling this number, gives you nothing more than a voice message to call another number for your specific desire of help. Lets take Medicaid for example, because that is what in fact, I called for help on.I was given a number for Ohio Benefits to renew my medicaid. They gave me a few options: place an appointment, cancel your hold, stay on hold for the next rep. I decided to stay on hold. Its been more than an hour, and I officially hung up. I call back a second time to place an appointment. It gives me the option to place an appointment for the following day, at a specific time (9:30am). After following the button sequence, the automation said something along the lines of: You have superseded the amount of attempts, and will be placed on hold to speak to the next available representative. It was literally 1 attempt. Back on hold, another hour goes by, and still nothing. This is disgusting. Youre honestly better off just going in person to get anything done, even a question asked.
I have never seen anything like this in my life. My 90 year old mother-in-law, well below the income limits and NOTHING ELSE, no car, no home, no mutual fund, nothing. I have made over 70 calls and countless e-mails in the last few MONTHS. Today, I spend 5 hours on the phone to come to the realization that they may be closed for Veterans Day. I still dont know. The recording did not say they are closed, but I looked online and it said, hours may differ This is a shame for older people waiting on help or nursing home approval. Workers are not helpful, rude and condescending. Each person you talk to tells you something a little different.
Trying to get Medicaid for my 13 year old diabetic daughter.. she will run out of meds and die before these people will help. Waited 4 hours here after working for 8... for them to scan some paper work I filled out and say you have to call this number. That was 3 days ago. Called the number every day since first time 45 minutes someone answers going thru the process and she hangs up mid convo. Call back wait 1 hour 5 minutes our lines are now closed please call back during normal business hours. Next day 2 hours and 32 minutes on hold.... mid convo lady says hold on lemme pull this up and back suddenly Im at the beginning of the automated message system. Today.... 1 hour 45 minutes on hold... some lady answers sounds like the lady from yesterday. We are going thru the process again... then click.
I understand the wait is long because funding has been cut and there arent enough workers. But the employees stand around and chit chat and gossip and laugh for 15 minutes straight while helping NO ONE. there is not one employee at the desk in the application desk area. There are 60 people waiting OVER AN HOUR!!! and no one has been helped for 13 minutes now. I dont know who to call. How can this place be functioning like this? It seems like they want us to give up and leave so that our benefits and food stamps get cut off. Bad attitudes and slow service. Horrible horrible place.
If I could give a ZERO I would ! I had a over the phone redetermination from 10-12. I was on hold for 2 hours and 8 minutes. Only to call right back and be on hold again for 2 more hours ! Why give us the option for a phone interview if no one is going to answer the phone. ONLY to send us a letter stating WE MISSED OUR INTERVIEW. No !!!!! WE didn’t ! You guys never answer the damn phone.
My case worker has not returned one call in two months. No letters. Nothing. I have called three times a week at least and finally left a message letting her know what I think of her. If this is what social workers do now for a living, they might as well be training animals, because that is what they are treating people like Then we could all get
All these reviews are a direct reflection of our incompetent Government officials. Cuyahoga Jobs and Family Services doesnt deserve even one star. I spent 2 hours there yesterday trying to help a friend get assistance. The woman that took my friends application and information told us that my friend was now in the system. She gave us a phone number to call for medical assistance. When we called that number today, we were told that my friend was not in the system.There is no doubt that the woman that took my friends application, only pretended to put it in the system. There is no doubt that she lied.Cuyahoga Jobs and Family Services needs to be investigated by the Attorney Generals office. I will follow up with the AGs office to find out why we were lied to. I suggest that others do the same.
Can I leave half a star, and leave it for only one person Ive spoken to who was exceptionally kind. I have had three case workers in the past three years, with a move to PA in between and I couldnt cancel my Ohio food stamps when I moved because I couldnt get ahold of that case worker even with calling every day. The second case worker I had had a severe attitude every time I spoke with her. She was supposed to send me an SNAP application in the mail on a Friday and when I didnt get it in a week, she claimed to have never said she would send it on Friday. Low & behold I never actually even got the application and its been a month since then. I was supposed to have a phone interview to get my food stamps back two days ago and never received the call so Ive been calling this new case worker multiple times a day to get it set up because I am struggling to make ends meet and I cannot get a hold of her. These women are Shania Stokes and Adrianne Weaver, so if you get them, I suggest trying to find someone else.As an update to this review, I have had my benefits revoked due to very unclear reasons and when I attempt to apply online, the password set up does not work at all, but that shouldnt even matter because I sent in my reapplication and new information when asked, so Im going to have to call number after number to no avail and hope to finally talk to someone to get the money I need for food for my kids and me.
Been dealing with them for years!! Never had so many issues til now. Got a worker Ive never even meet..spoke over the phone once and told her my mom was dying and how horrible my living situation was and so on and so on she bascally cared less and acted as if I was lying!! Now months & months later still nvr seen her and can nvr reach her!!! Been waiting over a week just for a call back. Need new staff that are willing to work and that have some compassion for ppl!!! Ill volunteer myself🙋🏽 to work and help!! At least these case workers could return phone calls. Its sooo Ridiculous.
I had to take my grandmas disabled friend here and the supervisor was a total witch. I was very polite and calmly tried to explain her situation and the lady snapped at me and was one of the nastiest people Ive ever dealt with in my life. How do these people get jobs? This lady acted like she needs medication or to be evaluated. I feel bad for anyone who has to go here.
Terrible turn medical renewal forms in they say they never recieved them. No phone calls back cant talk to anyone. They dont care to many people for Cuyuahoga county to handle? Well maybe hire employees that care about their jobs and supervisor cause apparently their not doing their jobs either. Have gave them my new address numerous of times still they have my old. Wish i could work and get paid for doing nothing! Someone needs to step up and take care over & do a news report on how bad most of us are treated.. This is unacceptable to sit at your desk while your waiting for your ticket number to be called for them to do what exactly beacause their not inputting our information that were giving or sending them. If i could give 0 stars i would!
I have been to the office 3 time this week and we are only on Wednesday! I work a full time job and I had spent all three days of my lunch break trying to send a change of daycare form through the kiosk. It never recognizes my SS # and I cant wait 2 hours to be seen because they are always crowded. I did mention this and nothing was done. highly upset.
Website doesnt work, they dont answer their phone, so now I have to waste 2-3 hours of my time to go there and sit in their lobby - just so I hand them two pieces of paper. This office doesnt deserve a one-star rating. Problem has been on-going and will like only get worse. Greatest Country in the world???
My case worker Tiffany Beachum was no help and very rude. I left 3 voicemails and she never called me back. I also called the office and that lady was very rude. She hung up on me while I was still talking to her. This review deserves negative stars. For people who want to help you, they make sure to make it as difficult as possible. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.
Place is a joke. Dont waste your time calling because you will never get through, and dont bother leaving a voice mail because they will never call you back. Ive gone in person to fill out an application and was told that it would be processed within a month. That was two and a half months ago. I had called and waited on the phone for a half hour only to find out that they claim to never have received an application from me, while I was holding the damn receipt for it in my hand. I will be going once again in person to settle this.
THIS IS INSANE I changed my address with you guys so you send my interview letter to my OLD address then a letter to my new one stating I MISSED my interview and I’ve been calling FOUR DAYS WITH NO ANSWER sitting on hold for FIVE HOURS a day for no reason like I work it raising 2 kids no one has time for this!!!!
Used to be simpler!- been on hold for 2 hr.s today about to be 3 hr.s waiting on a return call!! When call drops or a button accid.ly touched its back to start- recall all over! Is there more we can do if its really incompetency!!? I felt i shouldnt complain about a hand out but sooo many bad reviews here!! They started a new system in summer/fall- NOT WORKING WELL!!! Wish I could give negative stars. I think youd get more help from the gas station across the street. Countless phone calls and messages have gone unreturned. I finally got a hold of someone at the location downtown.. She transferred me instantly to the woman I had literally JUST left a message with 15 minutes prior.. And then this woman asked for a paper I sent in a month and a half ago. All while Im struggling to keep food on the table. This place is a disgrace.. People are seeking help when they need it, not whenever you feel like doing your job!!!
They have horrible customer service. I have left voice mail after voice mail for three months and they never call me back. If you dont meet their deadline your benefits get denied or declined but when you call to ask for help they dont care to return your call to help you.
I was hesitant to come because of low ratings. At first I as impressed at speedy service and instructions to fill these papers out and was then directed to Southgate jfs with papers because theyre my area code and this place cant help me. 45 min later after looking for a building no longer in service and talking to odjfs on phone I learn this lady mislead me, was fully capable of finishing my case, but CHOSE NOT TO and sent me across the county. wasting half a day of driving and waiting. They dont answer phones, return calls or take appointments. Dont let the fake smiles fool you. These people DONT want to work. But like most got agencies nothing is done about it because we dont know what they go through on a daily basis. BS
The workers never answer your calls. They transfer you to another place to wait over 3 hrs. on hold or do a call. They are never timely on processing anything for determinations. Over a week after interview and Im told they are behind on processing anything from the kiosk to wait and call back or go up their and send everything again. Very disorganized and unprofessional.
This place is awful to call up and they’re so rude over the phone if you do get someone that’s if you get somebody. I stayed on the phone one time for three hours. And then they got the attitude they need to get new employees and real workers that like to enjoy doing their job and care for the people that need to talk to them
They never answer any calls, treat everyone like theyre unemployed or a dead beat father or just trying to get a hand out. The light skinned lady i talked to called me white boy instead of addressing me by my name. This black woman there gave me her extension # and was very polite and professional. I think they need to focus more on whom they are hiring to work in this joint bc my name is not white boy, and my visit was about medical assistance not race or a handout wen i work more hours than her and most people.
First off the new system there using. Who came up with that? No need to answer its a failure.second the time you spend in the office is ridiculous! I spent three hours in there with my sister for something she had already submitted. Im just speechless. If you could put 0 stars thats what it would be good luck whoever has to deal with that office.
I am so disappointed in this place. Thier answer to everything is... Them: talk to your worker.... me: well my worker and her supervisor never answer the phone or any of thier messages so, now what? Them: Just keep trying... they help a lot of people. Like why is that an excuse that they help a lot of people!? Thats thier job! It is not our fault that their workload is too much for them. Its not in any way fair that because they are supposed to manage the cases they are ASSIGNED that hundreds of people go without needed assistance because they cant get ahold of anyone. Absolutley unacceptable.
Mary Yee an Kenneth Simmons are terrible with customer service. No returned call from Mart since May. I literally had to go, wait 3 hours for my number to get called to ask Did Mary recieve my paper in the mail she asked for? Leaving a voicemail every day does nothing. Kenneth Simmons, also. Never recieved a call back. Mercedes sent me the wrong ap for Medicare twice and for 2 months told me it was being processed when it wasnt. She spoke hood and gangster to me telling me I wasnt allowed to speak to her supervisor.FINALLY got a new case worker Mrs.Stacy and i am PLEASED!!! She is so pleasant and fixed the others mistakes. I thank Kathy for making that happen!:)
I’ve never been there before until today. I walked in and walked over to a woman that wasn’t helping anyone and said.” I’ve never been here, what do I do for a walk in.?” She looked at me as if I just slapped her best friend and snapped at me “Ma’am, I am not available.! I’m listening to something.!” And points at a small radio. I couldn’t believe how horribly rude these people are.! The people walking around in black shirts helping people are the ONLY ones doing their jobs.!!! Rip that place down and try again.
They Schedule my interview from 10am-12pm, i been on hold for a hour. I work third shift so the time they have me on hold I could be getting rest. I get off work at 5am, they are very inconsiderate of people who work 3rd shift. Typing this while im on hold and on eyes are trying to close.
My brother passed away Feb 29th . There is 2 brothers who live in the same building . After his passing I found out these 2 brothers were using my brothers trac phone and EBT card . All I tried to do was report this to the welfare so they could disconnect the phone and stop the use of the card . I spent half a day on a phone call and nobody answered . I also reported it to a message on the fraud line and left my #. Never returned my call. You wonder what is wrong with this country just go take a look at these offices and you will see what you are dealing with.
Dont expect a returned phone call, dont expect any professional rapport. Dont expect anything to be taken care of in time or with any respect. Will refer to you as white girl I have never spoken to a single person that didnt talk to you like you were interrupting their anniversary dinner. They need new employees desperately.
Terrible. This is not how the American People are supposed to be treated. This office is Understaffed . Its a simple fix, get more employees. Uhh helloo...Mcfly!! ??!!....On top of that, very long waits. This office and staff are very poorly organized. I am trying to get help, but am only getting more problems with nothing to show for it. I want a refund.
Depending on whos working or answers the phone some of the workers can be very rude at time they make you feel like your a birden and its hard to explain your concerns on the case because there so quick to rush you off or the have a bad attitude tores you .. but dont like when you give them one attitude back... They will place you hold to avoided dealing with you I just had it done to me Monday Tuesday and wednesday spoke to a lady today was very rude minute I spoke to her...
I kept leaving my number for a call back on the automated machine because I was sick of waiting for hours on end every day to never have them answer my phone. I have called sinse May 26 and it is now June 4th today I called at 8:30 am and I am still on hold at 1:30pm.
Call the direct number and its a recording directing you to call the 844 number.. What does these people get paid for if they are not available for helping.. And when I call the 844 number nobody answers. I am currently on hold with them now its been an 1 hour and 45 minutes and climbing with no answer . once I requested a call back and I wouldnt lose my place in line and I didnt receive a call back untill 4 day later.. Im sure If I stayed on hold It probably would have took them 4 days to answer my call.. If the customer service line was created for extra help and turnaround times then why do we never get to talk to someone... No wonder everyone is losing their benefits... We do our part but they dont do theirs and we are the ones that suffer from it.. Either do your job and help people or find a new job
Cjfs is horrible. They make changes don’t tell you, then talk to you crazy when you call with a question or complaint. This call center they’ve created is ridiculous, I’ve waited 45 minutes plus to be told they are experiencing high call volumes and then have the call hang up on me! They don’t care about anyone needing help they act like it’s coming out of their pockets alone! Screw em
Ive been on hold for a hour and stil no answer this is beyond sad and there no possible good excuse for this because I called at 8:15 this morning and it about to be 9:15. I am beyond disgusted that im just calling to get information faxed to my job and this is how they do their customers.
This place is horrific. They dont answer their phone lines during business hours and when they do they tell you to hold and then hang up on you a minute later. They dont return calls or seem to have any enthusiasm about their job. Horrible how people who need help have to go to a service center with workers like them.
CJFS is the worst in the state of Ohio. They are at a all time F rating and affirmative action at its best. I am going to keep it real. 30-40 years ago you did not have this problem because people were held accountable. Please DO NOT ask the people of Cuyahoga County to pass any tax levy for your organization until you clean up the catastrophic mess in this organization. Anybody read this call the Ohio Attorney General office. I am on the behalf of my aging father with disabilities; who served this country well in the military.
As someone whos job is to answer calls and ANSWER QUESTIONS, do not tell someone on the other line you cant continue to answer their questions with an rude tone. Better yet, dont start the conversation with a rude, annoyed tone. Its not surprising why this place at 1.5 stars.
They treat the public like their a bunch of fools condensending with their time and their health of well being. Cause their attitudes suck! Supervisor there acts like she knows what shes doing but bullys others in the public that know what their doing and like to work. so she can pretend she doing her job. awfull people! People can not be trusted in the care of American white people its that terrible.
Hard to get ahold of the caseworker . also my foodstamps been pending for a 2 month now just for them to finally tell me all i need is a pay stub but now they wanna open a new case for me and add now trying to add my boyfriend in it too wich lowers my food stamps despit I have a kid an one on the way just so sick of never having food in the house cause there trying to say he makes to much . but after pay an bills and etc but yet were still struggling to get food into the house . thanks warfare . all cause you wanna change it when you said you were gonna keep it now I need to add him on . thanks alot . love the support .
This place is horrible.. I never received a phone call back .. I been calling over a month now .. my case worker is very rude .. i just had a baby Im not working because taking care of her .. In I went there twice in a month .. Im so overwhelmed n tired .. In since I have postpartum depression it make it no better .. no support from social working at all.. They need better training to get things done
I have been trying to get insurance since June did everything I was told to do finally got a email to email my verifications by oct 16th 2017 did that still no insurance and if i call number given and leave message no one ever calls back,and no one every actually answers the phone where you can speak to a human.

Im force to give you one star.i had a phone interview for my food stampsto renew my potential food card amount between 8am_10 am I called I waited for 2 hours I almost got fired from my job you guys down there should be ashamed of yourself take away peoples card metal coal or whatever do everybody do everybody a favor please just go out of business okay you guys never ever ever answer the phones then you make us pay that suffer you took my food from my mouth I hope you choke to death

2022-01-04Hey guys, I was having a hard time especially around the holiday season and I just could not get ahold of anybody so my food stamps were stopped... We made it through and I understand how that goes. I saw that it was open online and drove up there with the kids, but I see that the building is closed, they must just be open to calls... That I have not had much luck with or my food stamp account would not be close currently. I know these ladies work really hard so Im going to keep trying when I get home until it is time to go to work, every day if I have to.I guess its a hard time for everyone. I just wanted to post the picture in case anyone thought the building was open, it is not yet!

2021-08-26Went to scan my paper work for my case since when I faxed them they said they didnt get them. Drive all the way here cause it says online we can still use scanner here and they have sign on door closed until further notice so now Im stuck and not sure what to do...

2021-11-12When theyre open, its fine. Slow as hell, dont expect to do anything else for a good chunk of the day, but otherwise fine. HOWEVER today is November 12, 2021 and they are STILL closed until further notice and the Ohio Medicaid website is impossible to work with. Just be aware before wasting your time either driving up there or calling.

2021-08-06Pre Pandemic this place was organized and efficent to meet the needs of the people and honestly its why I often chose this location because traveling downtown to pay for parking and having to deal with a larger crowd was not appealing to my interest, welfare or time. I was hoping to return to decent service and checked online for available hours of operations and made the trip on to find their offices with a Hand written note are closed until further notice. Im recently unemployed and the overwhelming flow of information and number I just wanted a clear answer a face/name to honestly help I wouldve waited the entire shift for 5 minutes of this time but I no one and that hurts the most I cant wait to return to normal times

2021-05-20Always having issues with these people. They leave you on hold forever, and are rude IF they ever get back to you. Apparently their fax machines are sketchy and fail to receive one of 14 pages. But they sure are quick to imply that you missed the phone appointment, when in fact you called, waited 4 hours, and were disconnected. How can a place be so disorganized and broken?

2021-09-09I have a phone interview to reapply for benefits, was told in letter to call between 10am and 12 pm. I called at 10am and waited 2 hours on hold with no answer! I called again at 12 after hanging up and put on hold with no options for them to call you back! Why tell me to call for a mandatory interview if no one is going to answer!!!

2019-11-19I applied online for medical for my kids and I as I cannot afford the $415 a month insurance that my employer provides and still be able to support us. I got my interview letter the day of my interview. It said I needed to call them 11/15/2019 between 10:00am and 12:00pm.. The issue is I got my letter at 3:00pm when the mail man delivered it to me. Send the letter out sooner to give people a notice and heads up. Highly upset, as I will have to do this all over again. Lets not talk about the many times I have tried to call. I tried to call Monday, it rang for about 5 minutes and someone answered I thought wow this is great they were fast... she asked what I needed and I told her to talk to someone about my letter coming late. She cut me off and put me back on hold. I stayed on hold for over 2 hours before I gave up. Poorly organized and short staffed. Absolutely horrible!

2021-11-16This is a terrible place. All the workers are rude and don’t care to help. They leave you sitting on hold for over an hour then when they answer the worker always has an attitude. They aren’t helpful and can’t have an appropriate helpful conversation without giving attitude.

2018-07-20Zero below zero if there was anything lower this place would be it! Oh my goodness. This place is completely horrible to say the least. You are literally on hold ALL DAY! nobody answers the phone ever!! They are so quick to send letters about taking away your benefits because you missed an appointment or whatever. When it is their fault you missed it! For not answering the phone EVER!!. my caseworker if I even have one is ALWAYS OUT OF THE OFFICE. every single day it seems. Shut this place down fire everyone that works there. Build a new place with professional people who actually care and want to help!!.
