There is one bartender there that apparently only has a job because they must be short on staff. If youre the owner, you know who Im talking about. The guy is basically a smart a** to everyone he speaks with, and mostly talks down to patrons. My wife and I were there there the other day and I watched three different times where people at the bar were trying to order or get their check and he was busy spouting his philosophy to another customer. We paid our check and went down the road to Coyotes... where they are nice and take your order immediately.
I took my daughters for dinner here since we were in the area.Everyone, I stress--Everyone from walking in,the hostess(sweet friendly young lady,as well as the friendly bartender and our waitress-was Fabulous,FrIendly, and so Courteous! My little girl had the sliders w/fries(it was a nice selection of things children enjoy on the Kids Menu) it came with a dessert (but unfortunately I forgot to get since we all were tired)I ordered the guacamole and chips appetizer (very yummy 😋 though I needed a dash of salt in our guacamole---I did not mind,it was fresh and very delicious) the chocolate martinis (perfect & pretty 😍) and my oldest ordered a burrito (she had to her liking) and me (pulled pork tacos)They had blackened fish tacos but our waitress told me what type of fish it was. (Tilapia)I just chose the smoked pork instead and glad I did!!!We were all satisfied, stuffed, 😊 Happy, and had leftovers!! I have fond memories of this place (years ago I attended with my friends and a loved one) I would recommend & yes I would come back!!
My husband and I ordered a full slab of ribs, it came with two sides and corn bread. We ordered tater tots and fresh fruit. We also ordered a jack and coke, and a feature drink, the Himalayan. The drinks were terrible, she brought me out the wrong drink at first and explained the bar tender doesnt know what theyre doing. I ordered a vodka and cranberry splash of pineapple. This drink was aa bit better but still very light on both juices which may be nice for some but I like an even mix. I didnt drink it. The ribs were PHENOMENAL. No complaints 5 stars there. They forgot the cornbread until I asked for it 10 minutes after we got our food. The fruit was a good mix, the fruit was all of the small pieces that arent ripe and are soggy, but not terrible. The tater tots were super crispy and flavorful. Salt intake high though, so watch out. I also ordered southwest rolls because they were on sale today, but they didnt reflect the discount on the bill, and I didnt feel like waiting to flag the waitress down again over a few dollars. Not a bad place, not a great experience.
I like to always give the positives first. Really cool venue. When we walked in, the front desk girl was on the phone & we waited, then another girl came & said just wait a few minutes...say what? Then a third girl came out with menus & seated us. Server was excellent but getting food was slow, but the food came hot. I had a margarita & it was fabulous & so were the baked beans, & chicken strips were large but just ok. The bbq sauce tasted like it was burnt. Cole slaw mediocre. My hubby had the sausage plate with fruit & cole slaw. The sausage was really small, he thought the cole slaw was terrible & fruit was bland. Plus its SO noisy. We left with a headache & hungry.
The Food was fantastic. The Beer was cold. The Hostess at the front appeared to be uninterested in seating people as we stood at the front entry for about 10 minutes before she finally took us to a seat. Our waitress was wonderful. She explained the menu in detail and was good at checking on us. I recommend the pulled pork and the beef brisket.
We are new to the area and, this was our first visit here. They are well known for their BBQ but, have other things on the menu for people who dont eat BBQ. The food is FABULOUS!!! The restaurant is really nice!! Our waitress was so kind, friendly, and knowledgeable!!! We asked her so many questions about the food and, she answered every one of them!!! We were there for dinner and ordered, an appetizer, chili, the pulled pork tacos, chicken melt sandwich with tater tots and, we LOVED everything we ordered!!! We will definitely be returning and absolutely recommend this restaurant!!!
Me and my husband was in the area and we were trying to find somewhere to eat. We came upon this place and decided to try it. We are so glad we did food was phenomenal and service was excellent and bathroom was clean and so was the restaurant. We highly recommend it and we will be back for more. Its good enough to be on Diners Drive Ins and dives. They have award winning ribs and sauce.
Stopped into Cowboys in Bainbridge for lunch,Ordered pulled pork plate and it was delicious,Prices are very reasonable.Only one server working the restaurant and the bar, and she was great. Owner should consider more staff. Overall great attitude by our server and food was great 👍
We are new to the area and our family has dined in and carried out several times. Not only have we not ever had a bad meal or experience, each meal and different item we have tried has exceeded our expectations. Burgers, BBQ, sandwiches, sides and apps all excellent. Friendly service and very fair pricing for portions too. The only issue we have is once we tried it, we want it once or twice a week haha. Try the bread pudding! One small suggestion, a spicy version of your Cowboy BBQ sauce would be awesome!
Even taking small staff into consideration, this was one of the worst experiences. Drink order was wrong and what we did get tasted awful, ribs were tough and smothered in way too much sauce. Fries were cold when they finally came (they got my order wrong). Other tables complained of being charged for items they didnt order. They had to comp 2 tables while we were there... There was nothing good about this visit.
First time here. Waitress and hostess very friendly. The food--- I ate with my eyes closed it was so good. Ill had Bourbon Pork Chops. My whole family loved it. Cool atmosphere. The smell inside was intoxicating. I will come. Back. Actually I think Ill start moving my furniture in today I never want to leave!! Thanks Cowboys. One recommendation. Waitress makes you wait way to long. And the side rice tated like Uncle Bens 90 second microwave rice kinda gross. Everything was amazing. Started strong finished a bit weak but was amazing
Had takeout service. Ordered 4 meals and half the order got screwed up. Asked for plain burger with cheddar. Got pickles, tomatoes and onions on it along with a white cheese. Wife refused to eat it. Ordered fries with another meal and got tater tots. They also did not get eaten. refused to provide drinks with kids meals without a discount (they are supposed to come as part of the meal) Ruined our Saturday night dinner. Thanks.
I have eaten here a few times. It is always very good and large portions. But I just had a St Patricks Day dinner of corned beef and cabbage. It was as delicious as it was different. They smoked the corned beef. It was fantastic. The carrots, cabbage and potatos were cooked to perfection. This restaurant is a gem.
Went last night around 8pm. Food needs to be more consistent. Waitress had horrible attitude and obviously had a problem with fat people. I usually dont jump to those conclusions but it was very clear. Not that its her business but I have a disease that I cannot control on how I look, and made me very uncomfortable. Not all bigger people just sit around eatting all day. We ordered sweet tea and she gave us unsweeted, she asked one table nicely if they wanted desert and came over to us and was rude and handed us the check in an instant second. Hostess was amazing tho! I wish she was our waitress.
Terrible service, incredibly RUDE staff. Management will avoid concerns. Prepare to be ignored when seated. Always something with this place. I honestly do not know why I went back… I guess we try to support local businesses but enough is enough! Rubbery chicken with freezer burn, staff don’t wash their hands and will be confrontational with you over anything.
The chicken tacos are to die for! There was a bit of inconsistency with the recipe though, sometimes the sour cream comes on the tacos and other times its on the side. I talked to the manager and its supposed to come on it, so be sure to ask for it on the side if you dont like it.The ribs were fantastic, slid right off the bone and with the perfect amount of spice. The 4 stars are for them wanting 2 dollars for an extra side of salsa for take out. Its kind of a lot when they give it to you for free if you eat in.
I love cowboy! They have regular, kind servers that always remember you. You can take anyone here with any diet restrictions. I am here at least once a week. My favs are the salmon salad, my husband the french dip and my son always gets double strawberry yogurt and fruit. You always get a ball from the prize game guarantee! So fun
We just tried this place today for the first time we were looking for someplace that we could get some takeout ordered some wings as an appetizer, French dip sandwich for my husband and I ordered the salmon it came with fresh vegetables and wild rice , the girl that answered the phone seem to have a bit of an attitude but I gave her my order and when I got to my salmon I said to her could I also get a side of coleslaw she replied it comes with two sides I said yes and then I would also like an extra side of coleslaw to which she replied okay, I was very disappointed when my husband got home with the food and I opened the containers there was just a piece of plain salmon laying by itself no vegetables no rice no nothing my husband did get his French dip an the chicken wings and then at the bottom of the bag were three sides of coleslaw, so I paid $16 for a plain old piece of salmon since I had to pay extra for the coleslaw was able to salvage at least something to eat out of it maybe if she wouldnt have been so busy having an attitude I would have got the dinner I actually ordered,,!!!
Excellent burgers! Our waitress took our orders (party of 5) and all were exact. Everything was served hoand tasty. (nice presentation on tin plates too.) All of our drinks were refilled without asking....She even gave us extra lemons without us having to ask. She anticipated our every need/want. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we plan to come again soon. Highly recommend!
This has been my favorite burger for years. In the past year it has changed dramatically. The meat used to be juicy hand pattied cooked to perfection. Last four times I’ve been there my burgers have been over salted or overcooked, or both. I kept hoping it was just bad timing but today’s burger was not hand patties had no flavor and the coleslaw was no where near as creamy and delightful as it used to be. I’m so sad. Staff is always friendly, attentive and great!
Have a had a couple lunches here and just had my Rehearsal dinner here. It is fantastic! Chef Steven is really great to work with! He will get you anything you want even if its not on the menu for your event. He was very organized and prompt with helping me plan my rehearsal dinner. The atmosphere is fun and laid back which is exactly what we were looking for! So thankful for this place to have made such a stress free time and wonderful dinner! Everyone in our party loved the food and restaurant! The waitresses were prompt and friendly as well!! Thanks for a great evening!
2/12/2021Update.... wings are still hopefully great but haven’t been back....Oct 2020Wings are great. Service is iffy. Read everything because they don’t care about you or have there servers explain promotions. Nor will they work with you at all besides trying to sell you other specials on other nights as well. You have lost a customer for awhile now. I hope that it was worth it.
Lets start with the good - the food. The burgers are great and the ribs. I think the menu has gotten better over.the last couple years. Now the bad -Very hit or miss on service. I have a family of 5 and 2 months ago we were seated, then waited close to 10 minutes without being greated. I ended up asking the bartender if we could get a server. A woman finally arrived and sort of apologized by letting us know we werent in her section but would serve us anyway. Then, a month ago, we walked in on a Sunday afternoon and waited by the host station to be seated. There was one bartender, no hostess, and I could see two servers walking between the kitchen and the dining room but no one ever greated us. We waited 5 minutes and decided to leave as that was surely and indication of what the rest of the night would be like. Then tonight I decided to order takeout. It was ready as expected, the host Julian was very courteous and friendly, and I was on my way. The burger was cooked perfectly but the fries were cold, the lettuce wilted and brown and no pickle. So, I cant say dont go because the food will most likely be good, but beware the service may be excruciatingly slow, or non existent.
The ladies of Arborwear ordered our meals off the $8.00 menu. You may think the the portion size was cut down because of the price, but Holy Cow!!! Portions were huge and the food was fantastic. Jimmy and Halle have given us excellent customer service every time we stop in! We highly recommend this little gem!!!
I was very disappointed. Waitress was very pleasant, however it took a while for her to bring us a menu, more time for her to return to our table to take our order. Then we had to wait even longer for our food, which was to cheese burgers. The restaurant only had three other tables with patrons. The food was adequate.
Not bad...nice venue (games, pool table, arcade, etc, bar area, plus large tables, clean)...very minimal people there, maybe caught them on a slow night....food was ok, smaller portions that most barbecue places (left hungry for a $22 plate) service couldve been better (we were a group of 14 so Im understanding on this, but they probably shouldve assigned 2 servers to our group vs 1). Wasnt great experience, but Id prob give then another shot someday
We have had dinner twice. The first time was a good experience, the food was very good and the service was ok. The second time was not good. We ordered and 45 minutes later, our food was brought to our table. My husband was missing a side dish and my burger was severely over cooked. No one apologized or did anything to acknowledge we had been waiting. Will not be returning
While we often eat in at Cowboy, last weekend we held a surprise retirement party for my wife. It was covid-outdoors with heaters and such; Cowboy did the catering. Chef Steve did a wonderful job of suggesting appropriate finger foods and made my job as a husband so, so much easier. Lots of compliments from our guests, and it was just the right amount.
I went there with my family because my son likes to try different restaurants. We live about 45 minutes away from this place. We all ordered the brisket. I got the cole slaw and the sweet potato fries as sides. My wife got the mashed potatoes and fruit as a side and my son got the mashed potatoes and baked beans. Our meals were $16 a piece. I’ll start with the brisket, it was cut super thin like it was cut on a meat slicer. It was cut as thin as a piece of thin cut bacon. We only got about six slices per person. I looked for a smoke ring on the edges and there wasn’t one which is suspect to me. It tasted good though. The coleslaw had zero flavor and the sweet potato fries were burnt. My wife and son said the the mashed potatoes had chunks the size of quarters in it. The baked beans and fruit were good and the waitress was very nice. The bar tender on the other hand got in an argument with a customer and was cussing. The bathroom had pee on the floor around the urinal and booger’s stuck to the wall. It was also extremely hot in the restaurant. I think the AC was broken. In conclusion the food is not worth the money and I would not eat there again.
The food is very good however it seems like they keep on mixing up and forgetting orders last week I ordered once on Tuesday and again on Thursday on Tuesday they forgot to give me my extra mac and cheese and cornbread.. on Thursday when I ordered I got a half rack of ribs with two orders of quesadillas and they forgot one of the quesadillas... They called left a voicemail saying that they got the order wrong and that they could give me a gift card I was at work at the time and I couldnt pick it up so the lady said that she would give my name to the manager and they would call me back later that day and I still havent received a phone call... With all that being said though the food that I do receive is very good
We’ve been here a few times now and each time we have been very happy with not only the service but the food. The staff have been great, very friendly and professional. The atmosphere is also great. They have a variety of seating options, good music, games for the kids and those that are still kids at heart!
This was the worst experience Ive had at any resteraunt in a long time. We eat here semi regularly and have come back because the staff was friendly, the food was ok, and they dont fry fish. My wife is very allergic and if she eats food cooked in oil that cooks fish we have to stab her with a needle. This time the waitress was rude and dismissive, she obviously wasnt listening when we told here that we came here tonight because its ash Wednesday and there is no fried fish on the menu. We ordered appetizers and couldnt get her attention again until after the appetizers came out. We tried to chat about what she would recommend and she hadnt tried some of it and had no opinion, found out that my wife cant eat the appetizers, and ordered our food. Two of our three meals were inedible. My daughter got the chili and it was acidic and bitter to the point that I wouldnt eat it and I am a good eater. My wife got the beef brisket that came out small dry and bland. The cornbread that came with the brisket was good, the tater tots were fine ( my daughter traded me her chili for those), and I ended up with a mushroom swiss bison burger that I would eat again. The chili was unsalvageable. We cooked when we got home. What a complete waste of time and money. I may stop back for a burger some day, but I will never take anybody there again.
We have eaten here twice. Once on Labor Day and once yesterday. The first visit our waitress was a little slow and a little prompt but she appeared to be the only one working and she did take our orders correctly, refilled drinks, and was helpful. The food was good. Slightly over sauced (ask for the sauces on the side and they’ll bring you out a a caddy with multiple options). Our kid’s order was complex but she delivered perfectly. Balloon animals on Monday was a nice touch and sold the kids on coming back.Yesterday was different. Our waitress was friendly but frazzled. She mumbled something at one point about just being a day shift person...I don’t think the menu changes at night though...She was slow to come to the table and got the drink orders wrong. We ordered appetizers which were wrong. Stay away from the stadium nachos which were cold, flavorless, and undercooked. Picture generic chips with unmelted shredded cheese and left over chicken like you used to make in your dorm room. The wings were fattier and less rendered than they were on the first trip. They were a highlight so this was very disappointing.3/4 of the dinner orders were wrong in some way. Mine was completely missing 1/2 a chicken. This time around the ribs were tough and chewy and the smoke on everything was overpowering. To add insult to injury she forgot it was 1/2 price wing night and so she had to correct the bill. We’re from the south and really miss this kind of food in OH (that is close by). We will try it again (and add or subtract another star) but honestly the lack of consistency and wait staff you see in reviews is accurate.
Worst experience ever first time and last. Waitress never showed back after poor food was delivered to see if we had any issues, had to ask another server to help with checking us out my husband walked out was so pissed off. Food was poor altogether and some so bad could not eat it. Like they did us a favor and took it off the bill no apologies for bad food from our server. At least the other waitress said sorry!
Duct taped booths and grafitti-ed bathroom walls are the first impressions that this restaurant has to offer. It doesnt seem to attract the classiest customers, but the staff is nice and very helpful. If you can over look the first impressions that are made, the food (burger and pulled pork) is delicious and served piping hot. Good food, and with some touch ups to the restaurant itself, it has the potential to be excellent.
Horrible service!!!! Our first time here was on valentines day. I had a surprise planned for my husband near by so we stopped in to get some drinks and appetizers before our plans started. After we were seated not one person came over to greet us or take any kind of order and we were there 15-20 minutes. We were in sight of several passing by serverwaitresses and someone who appeared to maybe be the manager at the bar talking to someone 10feet away from us. Other then the people at the small bar in the middle which we were seated right by the place was not busy at all so there was absolutely no excuse for this. We eventually got up and walked out and will definetly never be back! We ended up going to Plaza Agave across the street now having only 20 min till our appts after sitting here for 20 min with no service and had excellent service! Looking through some previous reviews it seems like this has happened to quite a few people. Get it together!
Good food. Everytime we eat here, though, we have the same very slow waitress. I will not eat here any longer. I started getting my food to go. When I get my food home, its hotter than when I eat in the restaurant. Last time I ordered food to go, I went to the restaurant, ordered my food, waited for it, and left with it, before the table next to me got their drinks. Never again will I eat in.
I rarely do reviews, and most always those few I do, are positive. This one however, lets call educational. This evening we made an infrequent appearance at Cowboy. We live closer to town where there are many places for a dinner after work . But for fun and diversity we chose Cowboy tonight for the first time in about a year. I wanted to see the Belmont Stakes and we knew they had TVs. Our wait person was young, energetic, friendly and pleasant, call him G. EVERYTHING was great, but for one thing. The Saturday special is prime rib. I discussed with G that I liked rare prime rib, and since it was early in the evening, there should be rare prime rib available. G explained that since the meat was smoked, the doneness is controlled by the amount of time the meat is heated in the au jus before coming to the table. I ordered the prime rib Saturday special and repeated that I would like it RARE.The main course was served and after a few bites of meat I could tell that it was not rare, but in fact was very well done. I flipped the cut of meat over and discovered my piece was the end cut! How could an end cut, of standing rib roast, ever be rare? When G came over I explained this to him. G offered to have someone from the kitchen come out to discuss this. G came back and said the explanation was given to him, for him to pass it on to me. He said that since the meat was smoked, all the cuts were the same doneness. So, if you want your prime rib rare or even medium rare, DO NOT order prime rib from Cowboy.
Lets start with getting seated and sweating so bad only to over here a manager talking to someone about the air being broke. That most definitely should be disclosed when walking in. I have several medical problems and thats completely ridiculous. Then lets move to the rudest server kristen ,krista blonde lady. I dont know exactly the most she talked was when it was Time for us to sign the check. The food wasnt even in the category of Mcdonalds. DRY, NO SEASONING AND MOST OF IT WAS COLD. AVOID THIS PLACE. ITS NOT BBQ AND THE STAFF IS RUDE OH AND THEIR DRINKS ARE JUST AS PITIFUL. .0 stars if you ask me.
My girlfriend and I came in at 7:15 on the Tuesday before thanksgiving, a very common day to go out to eat. We waiting for 10 minutes at the hostess booth only to be told “sorry we aren’t accepting anymore people tonight”. On a Tuesday at 7:15....because they were a “little under staffed”Absolutely terrible service and will never return
After being seated we had not been waited on for over 15 minutes and during that time three waitresses walked past our table. The waitresses seamed to be preoccupied in talking to each other by the kitchen rather than waiting on customers. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the hostess as we walked out of the restaurant without being served. This was October 9th at 6:30 PM
This place is horrible. I cannot believe they are still in business. Staff is rude. We sat for a legitimate 30 minutes without being greeted or served drinks. I made eye contact with what would of been or server and even attempted to waive her down. She never came over to us. The place wasnt busy either. I will never go back. I will let everyone know about the horrible service.
Short and simple, dont waste your money. Even more so, dont waste your time! Drinks took forever, food even longer. No explanation, no curtious remark and no care in the world that we had to wait an hour for the food. Which by the way, was cold and disgusting. Disappointing experience.
Biggest waste if $50 in a long time! Veggie burrito was a cold tortilla skin filled w rice and a sliver of a mushroom and bitter canned peppers. Beef tips were so hard they were not edible. Kids Mac n cheese was missing cheese. video games for kids and slushees prevented it from being a total loss. Used to be good, what happened?

2022-07-10Food and atmosphere were both very good. Mac and cheese a little on the plain jane side. Everything else was very tasty.

2022-03-04Over priced Childs portions that you have to wait over over hour to get. Sausage came on top of a beautiful toasted bread that was yep soaked with sausage juice. The burnt ends were drier than a popcorn fart. Overpriced for the value. We will not come back. Third time here was not a charm

2022-06-28Place is now a joke, waitresses want to close and run you out 30min before they even should close. Eye rolling managers, no silverware, dirty cups. Won’t be back ever again, used be one of the best spots to come eat, grab beers and relax. Be out of business in 6mo if they’re lucky. Where’s the ownership?? #joke

2021-07-09Pulled pork was a little bland but was juicy. The burnt ends were decent. The brisket wasnt very flavorful but was juicy. The nachos were pretty decent. The home made bbq sauce was excellent. The salad was served with bbq rach dressing that was excellent. It was on the expensive side. The staff were ok.

2022-02-25Had the ribs, was on special tonight. Great smoke flavor , you can tell they had a decent rub down or pre smoke seasoning. The sauce was amazing, ribs were kind of tough & chewy , gotta say a little disappointed. Had the brisket last time I was there and it was amazing all around. Still not a bad place to go for if your in the mood for a cookout without having to cookout

2022-05-09Worst meal and restaurant experience ever! We drove 35 min with a party of 7 to enjoy a nice meal and celebrate Mothers Day. The website states that the restaurant is open until 9 on Sundays. We showed up at 5:30 and they said they are closing at 6? Came in with a party of seven yesterday. We asked if they can take us and they greeted us with open arms. From there it all went down hill. Took our drink order and waited 35 min for an ice tea. The meals each came out at different times, so we can watch the other one eat as we sat there. After 20 min one of the parties canceled their order because they were so angry at waiting. They were told it would be comped, which turner out to be a lie. They just went hungry. Waited for 20 min to ask for condiments, which some where given after three attempts. My BBQ sauce request was literally ignored. When finally talking to a manager all he did was argue with me and tell me Im lying. Never have my group and myself been treated like this. The craziness is there was a group of people who came in after us and got everything they requested. Stay away from this nightmare. Mothers Day was ruined.

2022-07-01Stopped during a mini road trip. Glad we did. Order the burger and ribs lunch specials both delicious! Shoots are a little pricey. The bar tender and waitress were very friendly

2022-04-30This is some of the most mediocre BBQ I’ve ever had. To call this “Texas style” is a joke. The serving size is laughable for the price. The sides come out in in cheap plastic KFC containers. Most of the sides I had are cheap and premade.GFS style premade coleslaw, canned baked beans, cheap unflavored Mac and cheese, and regular tater tots for kid.The BBQ Brisket was 1 saucy piece that was tiny, one medium piece that was dry and one medium 1/2 fat piece for 20$The sausage was OK on dry + burnt Texas toast. Also there was no soap in the mens room for who knows how long. Will not be coming back.Don’t waste your time or money here on middle American bland overpriced bbq.

2022-07-07Pulled pork was mostly fat and tasted flat, hamburgers were of good size but dry, bourbon and coke was flat, potatoe skins were great. Not going back!
