My son and I went to go see The Wizard of Oz this evening. The cast was stellar. I would definitely recommend this show especially if you have children, its sticks very closely to the movies storyline so children will definitely recognize it and enjoy it. Not just a great show but a great way to introduce children to theater
Very affordable community theater with decent shows. Not quite the level of production youd see at the playhouse or Aaronoff but a good value for the money.Ive seen several shows here including Legally Blonde, and Adams Family Values and had the opportunity to perform in the inaugural production of West Side Story.
Really fun time. Good production of Young FrankensteinSingers were talented and comedic timing was on cue. Enjoyed the local, smaller theater so you can see everything so clearly. Makes it feel more connected with the characters and the story. Would definitely go back again and enjoy the local talent.
Saw Oklahoma!. The play was good. It was an old play. The performers were excellent. I was particularly impressed with the actors who played Curly and Jud. The Curly character was young and had a great voice. Having only seen the movie the youth of the character seemed a lot more natural. Jud was meanacing. Other impressive characters were Laurie and Will. Very good and natural. All of the characters were great. If they werent the prime performer they still stayed in the scene reacting like it was a real life situation. I would recommend this play and this playhouse to all.
My family and I have been attending shows at the Covedale and its sister theater at the Incline for a few years and have thoroughly enjoyed our visits. The actors and musicians do an excellent job and the price of $29 is a fraction of the cost for tickets to the Arnoff, cincy shakes, or Marx theater. If you want to have an entertaining evening, its well worth a visit.
I have taken my family to two productions at the Covedale, Brigadoon and My Fair Lady. Both performances were sterling. We have become so hooked on this theater that I have just purchased season tickets for the upcoming shows. The Covedale is a wonderful little theater with ample off street parking. I truly believe that the Covedale performance of Brigadoon inspired my seven-year-old granddaughter to seek and win the role of Bielke in Barts Bards upcoming production of Fiddler on the Roof. Great little place; Im glad we found you.
We came to see Annie the musical. I had such a great time. I attend the Aranoff at least once a year for a show, spending quite a bit per person & the Covedale was more reasonably priced, and the show was BETTER than any Ive seen at the Aranoff. I especially liked that there is free parking. The theater was clean and the view to the stage had little obstruction from the people in front of us. The bathrooms were clean as well. The snacks they provide are inexpensive and perfect for a night out to see a show. Even free water is provided. The cast was great! I learned that the Covedale is a non-profit organization as well. You can really tell they are passionate about performing arts.
Great to have regional theater on the West Side. Bonus points for concessions stand. However this is not a very comfortable venue. Seats are too close together and it is warm and stuffy. Worst for men: Restroom is terrible with no privacy. People can see you performing your duties from right outside the door. For Gods sake, install some privacy barriers!
My house was broken into and a gift certificate that I had bought for my husband was stolen.I called the Covedale wondering if it could be replaced.I spoke to Amy and she was so nice. She is able to send out a replacement gift certificate.Looking forward to our next play!

2021-12-05Ive lived in Cincinnati for over 40 years and Ive never heard of this place. I wish that I would have found them years ago. Their performance of Elf the musical was spectacular! Very entertaining. For the money I spent on tickets it would have been a bargain at twice the price. Theres plenty of parking and the concession stand was reasonably priced.

2022-08-02Never a bad experience at the Covedale. Sadly, our last visit ended up badly. One in our party had an accident when we arrived at the theater and we had to leave before the show. Very disappointed. Well be back.

2021-10-31Last night I had the opportunity to attend the musical All Shook Up at this theater. We had a great time at what appears to be this hidden treasure on the west side of Cincinnati. The theater was bigger than I expected, had nice seats. They do have a small bar and allow you to bring your drinks in to the theater. If you enjoy live theater, I can certainly recommend the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts.

2018-07-29Took our granddaughter for her first trip to yhe theater. The facilities were nice enough, seats all had a decent view of the stage. Our seats were along a partition that seems unnecessary. The staff was pleasant. Great community support for the arts. Parking was limited. Show was very good. We saw The Music Man. She thoroughly enjoyed it.
