I worked at The Courtyard years ago and it is one of the only restaurants that I still crave their food after working there. They are very particular in the quality and freshness of their food. You cant go wrong with basically anything on the menu. French fries with creamy peppercorn is a must though! The burgers and pizza are soo good too!
Great food, comfortable yet lively atmosphere, absolutely incredible service - waitress was super attentive and helpful. Prices were great for the portion size! The menu has a wide variety to choose from without being overwhelming. Im definitely looking forward to my next visit!
First time coming here so I got the porterhouse steak!! It was delicious! Didnt need any extra salt and was mouth watering delicious!! Had the steamed veggies and side of rice to go with it! Also didnt need extra salt. Food was cooked to perfection! Definitely worth the price!
This place was really nice ! & Erica the barmaid was really nice to us as well. I had the Caprese Salad & added salmon & Shrimp! The salad looked so good. I forgot to take a picture 😩😩 but it was delicious !! I love the fact that they serve spinach as well and has so many things to chose from. My friend order a wrap and a pesto sandwich. It was good too! I had to try it . Lol but This was just a great place to eat. I would recommend to anyone ❤️
Although we waited 30 min for a table, it was so worth it. I had the lobster tail special and the lobster was taste of heaven on a plate. I never had a bad meal and have been coming here for over 20 years. Our server was great, I m sorry I cant remember her name, but I will check so she can get acknowledged.
I have two things to say one a young waitress you had there very disrespectful my brother asked for a substitution of a salad and she said very demandingly no theres different ways to say no she could have said yes for an upcharge but she didnt very rude and number two mom wanted a medium rare hamburger it was well done terrible
I cant say enough about the service...it is Old Skool and the best! Veteran waitstaff that know how to treat a guest. They dote on my daughter as if they were her grandparent. The food comes out on-time and delicious. The servers make sure that you go home with leftovers. Every childs dinner comes out on a frisbee that you can take it home. If you collect 6 (?) you can get a free child dinner. It has a patio in the Summer and is lovely all year round. It is just cute, clean, consistent and that is how I like my food. My favorite is the salmon salad. The homemade dressing is the best. If you are from out of town, this would be a great representation of Brecksville.
I dont know how I havent reviewed Courtyard until now! I have been a regular patron for almost 10 years. I used to work near here so I got lunch about 3-4x a week. I love that their food is scratch made and well prepared and seasoned. My favorite is the Mulligatawny Soup and of course the bread. Ive never had a meal I didnt enjoy here. The 2x baked potato is luscious, savory and tender. The salads are crisp and fresh. The salad dressings are scratch made and delicious. I appreciate that you can choose the bread for your sandwich. The chicken pesto on croissant is my fave. Their sorbets are refreshing and their desserts are unique and delicious as well. I like the batter on the wings and the potato skins (both varieties) are amazing. Their fish dishes are expertly prepared and nicely seasoned. Im also love that they have daily soup, muffin and entree specials. The only thing I didnt like was the chili. Be aware that it is not with beans. Joe at carryout is everything. Cool dude. The staff are always friendly.
Waitress very quick and not a friendly person - ruins the dining experience. .Also, why can’t anyone at this restaurant accept a complaint . Mistakes are made sometimes - This place needs to accept criticism and treat their regular customers with some respect and more. Every other place we dine at regularly treats us much better & shows appreciation for our frequent visits .My group of buddies decided to boycott this place now.
It is typically very difficult to get a table in this wonderful gem. My hubby and I arrived shortly after they opened this morning for an early lunch. They are known for their daily muffins. Todays flavor was raspberry strudel. It was warm out of the oven when our sweet server presented it to me. Oh. My. Goodness. It was heavenly. Then I ordered the Alpine Swiss sandwich. Perfection. Roast beef, grilled onions, green peppers, grilled mushrooms and Swiss cheese on a croissant. Incredible flavor combination on top of the tender, delicious beef. Ill be dreaming about that meal for quite awhile!
Very rude restaurant practice of informing guests of a STRICT 90 minute stay time starting the minute you sit at a patio table!😡Totally void of restaurant hospitality, the server (pressured by her manager) continued to verbally remind us of the time limit and made the whole dining experience VERY RUSHED and UNCOMFORTABLE.Further, the servers need to be schooled in basic server etiquette because they were literally reaching ACROSS the guests (while we were talking to each OTHER) to remove plates...WHAT RUDE AND ILL-MANNERED BEHAVIOR!😤Covid does not excuse you for implementing this rude table turnover policy...people pay for a meal at a restaurant to enjoy and relax...not to be monitored and rushed out.
I’ve been eating the same sandwich here for almost 25 years. Roast beef + provolone on a croissant with creamy pepper dressing + fries. Absolutely heaven. We don’t live here anymore but it’s the first place we eat when we’re back in town. It’s a great place for anyone including families. Upscale-ish but completely unpretentious. Just great food, atmosphere and service. Now my children love this place as much as I do. It’s a must try! Reservations on the weekend is probably a good idea.
You will not leave this place hungry. Service is always fast and good. Grilled fish entrees are my favorite. Spud aka the twice baked potato and French fries make me want to eat a dinner of nothing but potatoes. All the employees are great but....A special shout out to the real MVPs-the cooks in the back!!! Delicious food and every time I see them through the clear window they are working so hard and quick. It looks like a madhouse back there. food always comes out quick!Family friendly patio is great weather permitting.
Food is great! Service is even better! My wife and I were hungry and didnt know what to expect when we stopped at this charming cafe in the corner of the plaza. It doesnt look like much from the outside but when we walked in, we were surprised. The place is bigger on the inside (Doctor Who fans get it) and they were busy! Despite the crowd, they were able to get my wife, infant and I a table in a short amount of time. We were fortunate enough to get a fun gentlemen named Steve as our server. He was so good with our kid and gave us some good food recommendations. Get the French onion soup! Side salad was OK, but I forgot about that when the pizza arrived. Only regret is that I didnt get more pizza. Guess well have to go back and see Steve, oh darn!
This was very enjoyable, the atmosphere was casual and neighborly. The kids had spaghetti, a cheese burger and a small white pizza.I am a vegetarian, so I had soup and an extra large baked potato, my wife the same.It was very well prepared with a design in the top, looking quite cool! They had micro Brews available as well, and I enjoyed a smooth Kentucky Bourbon Ale.Always good.I would recommend this spot for some enjoyable casual dining.
Delicious first time visit. Went sunday so had to get the steak and spuds special. Waiter was very friendly and cooperative, really talked up the place. The patio is the way to go, what a view. Even in the rain! Couldnt make room for dessert but wanted to try a cream puff. They look amazing and now have to come back just for that.
Very,Very good place for dinner! Its not the worst place and its not the best place. Its always consistent. Friendly staff and great cooks. You will always get fresh food. Whenever any of my friends or family is in from out of town, I always take them to the Courtyard. Hands down the best French onion soup in Northeast Ohio and possibly the whole great state of OHIO.
Great food and a small town atmosphere. This is a small restaurant and you will have the servers and staff running around bc everyone loves this place. The staff works tirelessly to make sure your order is correct and everything is perfect. Its a very cool place and the courtyard is a very great addition in the summer.
Always satisfied with the Courtyard Cafe! Stands out as one of the few decent restaurants in the area. One of the highlights of the restaurant is the ability to get a fresh muffin as your bread choice - they are really good.Expansive menu and nice little outside patio.Prices could probably be 25% lower, but still reasonable.
Love the feel of this place and the people. Hidden in the corner of the shopping plaza I missed its existence for years. It quickly became a favorite especially when my appetite changed and I found the lunch fish portions were more than I could eat. Multiple different fish available and lunch portions available on most fish even at dinner time. Twice baked potatoes and real vegetable meddle not California frozen bag mix but steamed fresh veggies. Wife likes the specialty drinks. Highly recommended also highly recommend you call for reservation in the evenings.
This place was amazing!! From the ambiance, to the staff, to the food! Not one thing was wrong with our time here. Had filet mignon, cooked perfectly, wings are a great option for an appetizer, definitely would recommend if you are looking in this area for a new place to check out! And no, I never saw anyone go to Marcs to buy meat as one review stated. 10/10 I will be back sooner than later!
Wonderful pub style restaurant. Everything freshly made to order. NOT a chain eatery. Menu features sandwiches and appetizers to full dinners including chicken, steaks, chops n seafood. Prepare to wait, but well worth it. Wonderful service .n lively atmosphere. Very clean!
I was waiting outside. While waiting I saw they buy their meat from Marcs.Big time rip off. Owner is pretty rude and staff is same way. Very over priced items. Doesnt recommend this place at all.Everyone is mean at this place.Horrible customer service and very over priced.Original owner sold the place to fat guy. Cafe is under new management and overpriced.
This place has great food and the cooks really try hard to put alot of flavor into the food. The porkchops are delicious and the ribs were cooked to perfection. In addition, the twice backed potato called the spud was warm and crispy. Going there I could see the staff were swamped and they were trying their best to get the food out in a timely manner. The seating was comfortable in booths but seemed to be a bit cramped with how many seats there were. Overall I enjoyed this place as and plan to go back again!
Every single encounter we had with the staff was rude and not helpful at all. The wait was incredibly long for both a table and food. Half of the peoples food at our table was overcooked. Then we waited a long time again for the remade food. The food is not that good. Ive had better food at chain restaurants. And it was seriously way too expensive for sub-par food. Perhaps it was a bad night, but we will never go back.
A little overpriced but I didnt have a problem until I found a hair in my food. It really wasnt handled well. It was remade Wrong and Im not sure if it was the manager who brought it out but all she said was whose burger is this. When I said it was suppose to be different she just snatched it away and we had to wait longer. No one even apologized or anything. I was very disappointed.
My favorite restaurant anywhere. I have never had a bad meal or bad service here. The people have been here a long time and often recognize you. It can get very crowded at times, but worth it. There is a large selection. I like the Burger a lot - tied with one other for best in class as far as I am concerned.) the salad, the scrod, the chicken salad and fruit dish, the soups are home made, the French onion soup is my favorite here. I have also enjoyed filet here and pasta and grilled chicken sandwiches and rice, too. The French bread or muffin are worth ordering, the sherbet, muffin, or soup changes daily. Not open Sunday.
This is truly a hidden gem. The only thing that youll have problems with here is picking something off the menu. The menu is very large and everything is very good so its hard to make a decision. Just a little cramped inside but during the summer they open up their patio. The staff is always friendly and the food is always good. I dont think Ive had anything here that I could possibly even remotely complain about. This is a great place for lunch or dinner and my advice would be to try out their patio.
Our meal for four was less than $40, the service was stellar and the food was delicious! We split the Walts Salmon Salad and The Natural sandwich and both were excellent, the kids both ordered from the kids menu and both of them loved their food too! Kids meals come with a frisbee for a plate, and if you collect five of them you get a free meal! They are closed on Sundays, which is the only reason we arent going back tomorrow!
We really enjoy their food. Seriously! This being take-out Tuesday, we ordered take-out. I was surprised, and somewhat angry, that of 6 employees I saw behind the counter and kitchen, only 1 had a mask on and that person was wearing gloves too. The two up front (answering phone and packing orders) were not wearing masks nor gloves. I dont like posting this as much as it being read. Were talking close contact with food here folks, not walking past your neighbor 6 away. If were gonna prevent the spread of a virus, ........just sayin.
We were trying to find somewhere to eat that wasnt a chain restaurant or fast food on our way home from Cedar Point to Pittsburgh when this came up in my search. Its not to far from the turnpike and was easy to find. Its obviously a local favorite because it was pretty busy when we arrived on a wednesday evening around 5 p.m., and by the time we left, there was a line waiting to be seated. Staff was friendly, the chicken pesto sandwich was very good, and I will definitely stop by again if Im in the area.
Ive been to the Courtyard a number of times and usually have no complaints. However, the server this time seemed to be rushing us even though there wasnt a crowd.I ordered the chicken cordon bleu and the meat was far too dry and the cheese not melted. The cole slaw, fries and bread were delicious.
Ordered cheese pizza to go was very greasy couldnt imagine if i would have ordered it with sausage or pepperoni. And spinach artichoke dip was all cream cheese.. Dont know what they changed but it was definitely not what we have ever experienced there before .Not quite sure if i would order either again.
35 year patron. Great management(Michael)and amiable employees, friendly regulars, consistently good food at reasonable prices and unpretentious vibe. Daily specials and menu could stand some new tweaks would be my only suggestion but otherwise theres always plenty to choose from regardless. Fully stocked bar keeps my fave Yukon Jack on hand at my request. What more could one ask for from a longtime neighborhood establishment? :)
One of the descriptions we read before we came here said that this place was a restaurant in a strip mall. That doesnt do it justice. My wife and I just enjoyed a good meal and and excellent jazz trio on beautiful summer night in brecksville. The atmosphere in the outdoor patio is much more private hacienda with a brick tiled courtyard adjacent to the indoor pub, than a strip mall. Dont miss it !
Salads are great. Burgers are great. Fish is great. Their Texas Tumbleweed Salad is a super fun salad. Their house-made dressings are awesome! My favorite thing about The Courtyard is their bread, though. It comes to your table hot and steaming and full of delicious.
Hands down, our favorite eatery! Relaxing pub-style inside, awesome Summer patio dining, variety of top notch menu selections, including homemade soups, muffins, and dressings. Best salads, burgers and pizza around. From soup and sandwich to steak and lobster, The Courtyard doesnt disappoint. And to top it off, you can not beat the service! Consistent, friendly and delicious! Our Brecksville Cheers!
A short drive from the toll road, but totally worth it! Deceptive facade. Just looked like a strip mall joint, but English pubsy on the inside. Chicken pesto sammy was to die for. Hubby had the French dip- Fantastic! Dont know if the fries were truly hand-cut, but that was the style and they were fried to perfection. We completely recommend it.

2022-06-03Ive eaten at the Courtyard numerous times and the food has been consistently excellent. The French onion soup is the best Ive ever tasted. It is, in fact, a family favorite. Generous portions, too - none of us can finish a whole meal. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere at reasonable prices. All in all, a terrific night out.

2022-04-16Courtyard has a wide array of tasty foods from salads, burgers and pizzas to many different fresh fish and steak dinners. And they have twice baked potatoes too. Call them to let them know youre coming to avoid dinner rush line.

2022-04-16Turkey pesto sandwich is one of my favorite meals and not just at Courtyard but in life in general. Lindsey is one of the nicest waitresses Ive ever had.

2021-03-05It took a few visits to realize this place had a bar in the back. The layout is rather unique. I tried their Tenderloin Salad recently and enjoyed it. It is kind of unique with sautéed onions on top.

2018-05-22Nice place. Nice outdoor seating arrangements. We went for our friends 82nd birthday. We ordered pizza for ourselves and birthday girl 82 ordered a sandwich. Her 87 yr old husband ordered grouper with rice and vegs. It took almost over 50 minutes for our pizza to arrive. When it came it was over baked and they offered to get us a fresh one. We said we have already waited this long, not going to wait another 45 minuted for another. We were hungry. So we settled for that though pizza. Our birthday girl and her husbands food took another 10 minutes. It was nice that they realized the mess up and took the pizza off our bill and served two nice slices of cakes as compensation. It was crowded. They take reservations wife we didnt know. There sandwich and fish was good. Cake was very tasty. Dont know if we will go back there any time soon.
