I have been there twice about 8 month apart.Pros: clean, nice staff, more or less modernCons: they dont have body cream. How on earth is that possible. This is very basic. They had it back in July so I guess it is part of cost cutting. Also their market in the lobby did not replete its stock in 4 days (tuesday to sunday).Honestly despite its cons and nice location I will not be back.
My room had an extremely unpleasant smell. The hotel is valet only and the valets are not the greatest. My husband and I both drive sports cars with manual transmissions and most of the valets could not drive them. We left specific instructions for the event that they needed to be moved but when they chose to move the vehicles, these instructions were not followed.
The fact that I pulled to the front of the hotel and had to ask to get my car valet was mind blowing to me. To the overnight front desk clerk was very rude and disrespectful while I had my newborn baby and son area is great but I would NEVER recommend this to anybody
This hotel is not worth the rate it charges. They took advantage of a sold out city for All-Star and thought they could charge $300/night for a room that looks like this (see attached photos). My room had scuffs and marks all over the walls. The tv looked like it came right out of the early 2000s. It looked more like a 19 inch computer monitor than a TV.The bathroom had dust and stains in the corners. And to top it off, I can only assume the people who built this hotel had crooked eyes because half the signs were crooked. With all the health concerns around covid, to have a room that looks like a Motel is unacceptable.
I will return to this hotel because of the incredible customer service, from the front desk to the valets everyone was professional, kind and just seemed happy at their job. The handicap room was large (even the bathroom) to accommodate a wheelchair. I suggest using Ubereats or DoorDash to order food, no restaurant on site but several places to get food within walking distance. The hotel is very clean, and I saw the staff cleaning many times when I was walking around the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel. Having a friendly happy staff makes a big difference, really helps if your traveling to someplace you have never been.
This hotel is close to the Museum of art, Museum of natural history and botanical gardens. It is also close to University Hospitals cancer center and transplant center. The rooms were fantastic. Clean with great amenities. They offer shuttle service every half hour...which is a great feature. And the valet attendants were wonderful. You pay extra for parking, but its worth it and you can take your car out at any time.
Were given the wrong room at check-in. Surprised the cat that was in the other room!Limited amenities. Breakfast only.Difficult to park.Updated 9/28/21:The staff is absolutely amazing. They deserve 10 stars. In spite of our check-in hiccups, these folks went above and beyond to accommodate me and an unexpected stay extension. From front desk, to breakfast/coffee service at the bistro, housekeeping, and Ron the magnificent shuttle driver in the evenings, I had a wonderful experience.Thank you for everything.
The hotel is alright, but there was one incident, where we were trying to schedule a taxi to airport in early morning. The front desk said with VERY confident tone that she has got confirmation from the company and we will get confirmation message ASAP the night before. Well guess what, we never get any confirmation message, and of course there was no taxi at the time we left. We had to book a Lyft at 4 am which almost cost us to miss the flight.
I normally get very anxious when it comes to interacting with hotel staff, but those at the front desk were very helpful and welcoming. The valets also had wonderful attitudes and put me at ease. The room was comfortable and clean as well. The hotel being in an area with plenty of shops and food around was also an added bonus!
The staff!!Amazing and lovely people. Such wonderful personalities...every single one of them! This was a very convenient and comfortable stay. The only disappointment was the breakfast. I realize covid changes things. Although, It really shouldnt be much of an issue at this point. But, there needs to be more food options. And, there should be complimentary options. I always choose a Marriott property when available. This was the first time I did not eat on property. But, the awesome staff makes up for the minor complaint. They will bring me back every time!Yes! I highly recommend this property!
Jennifer the Early morning Manager was so helpful and nice and on top that she arranged my transportation to the Amtrak station, if it was not for her, I would have had to stay another night in Cleveland. What awesome employee. Thanks Jennifer, you are the best. This was for the 30 of October. Cheers Andy
We stayed at the Courtyard University Circle for a wedding weekend. The location was perfect for us with the ceremony at the Botanical Gardens. We loved the walkability of the area - University Circle Museums, Little Italy, and many choices of places to eat.Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet, with a very comfortable king bed.The only negative for us was having to use the valet parking, which with tips added a fair amount to our stay. Overall the valet service was good and the valets were helpful and pleasant, but at one time we had to wait 20 minutes to get our car.
The staff was amazing! Helpful and pleasant. The room was lack luster and dirty! Dust on all the surfaces. Dirty on the ledges in the bathroom. If cleaning and sanitating is the goal - you failed. I was truly disappointed, but did not complain due to the extenuating circumstances with Covid. Please CLEAN the rooms between guests AND not just misting/sanitizing.Every time I visited the public restrooms (main floor) something was missing - toilet tissue - paper towels - soap. The bathrooms should be assessed hourly for supplies and cleanliness. Dust and polish the surfaces in the room and then sanitize the room.
First, I wasnβt aware there was going to be valet parking and there was going to be a charged for it. When I called to book my reservation, I was not told this over the phone. Second, I didnβt think my room was the most cleanliness. There was fingerprints in the headboard, the curtains was filthy and just overall did not feel clean. Lastly, as far as staffing, the lady at the front desk at check-in was not the friendliest but at checkout the experience was better. I picked this hotel because of the location but because of the experience, I would not recommend to friends/family or business partners.
There was a large candle wax stain on the carpet and up the side of the love seat in the sitting area of the suite. i also had to wipe down all of the chairs in the sitting area before we could sit. there were crumbs on the arms, seat, and across the back of the love seat. there were random stains of the wall sconce shades and sitting room lampshades. i also had to remake the bed because the fitted sheet was not attached to three out of four corners. the main areas of the hotel seemed to be clean and well kept, but now im skeptical. the ladies we encountered at the front desk were very friendly and engaging. the valets were also very polite and efficient. the pool was also drained when we arrived with no mention of this on their website. we also really liked being within walking distance of the places we were visiting. it was just a shame that we were never able to fully relax in our room.
No house keeping service at all. They make you walk down to the front desk to get fresh towels. No food service. Low personality front desk who made us feel like we were a bother. Low flush toilets that sounds like little bombs going off. Yes, really. You can hear every toilet in the building flush. This outfit is obviously taking advantage of covid to cut costs when in fact none of their measures could possibly have an effect. In fact, doesnβt going to the front desk to get fresh towels increase exposure to other people.
Weve stayed in lower level rooms which had better beds and water pressure. On our last stay, we were on the 7th floor. The beds were horrible (mattresses need turned or new ones installed) and there was not enough sufficient water pressure in the shower. Also, unless youre a Starbucks or a Duncan Donuts fan (which we are NOT), good luck finding a decent cup of coffee. The hotel does provide a coffee maker but not enough cream or sugar packets even when we asked for them. I had forgotten to bring my own. My next stay I will make sure I have my own along with my Keurig.
Perfect location, in walking distance to Case Westernβs many attractions and for the college tour. Situated well to dining, museums and cultural sites. The front desk staff could not be more helpful, kind and accommodating. Marriott is known for great service- and I agree, even saying that, the staff was so genuine and helpful- above and beyond. Highly recommend and will stay here again.
The hotel room itself was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly. We had very little interaction with any other staff except the Valets. Their service was awful. They lost the parking ticket for the car the first day out. Then they lost our key. They found our key inside the car. No apologies. no nothing. Poor service.
Room smells pungently of dirty wet socks. Smell lingers and have trouble getting used to it. Sink doesnβt drain. Not an experience I would ever pay for and definitely not at the rate charged by the hotel. Staff are the only redeemable quality of this place so far-polite, do their job, nice, not intrusive.
Read a couple old negative reviews and I was nervous. However, I found every single person involved in guest services ridiculously caring and thoughtful. I was greeted with smiles and friendly banter. Anytime I requested something they were more than willingto help. Clean and quiet, modern updated furnishings, plenty of pillows and comfortable rooms. Thank you.
We chose this hotel for an overnight getaway for one evening to celebrate a special occasion and to visit the Moca and have dinner in Little Italy. We really didnt realize how wonderful the stay was going to be. The location was perfect, the room was small but wonderful and especially nice because it was modern, clean and quiet.
When youre in town to see a bunch of doctors or get a bunch of tests at the hospital, trying to find the right hotel can be very stressful. Those of us who are disabled have it even harder. This hotel could not possibly have done a better job in making sure they were accessible, clean, and professional. They had a shower chair when I couldnt stand after a long day of testing. They helped another client with needing a wheelchair after something similar. The shuttle drivers are some of the best Ive ever seen, and the whole staff works together beautifully as a team to make sure your stay is comfortable and safe. If you are going to the Cleveland Clinic or University Hospital, you want to stay here.
We escaped a horrible Airbnb to this hotel that accommodated us in the middle of the night with a safe haven. For that, we are grateful. The hotel is nice and clean and the staff is super nice. The parking situation is interesting as you can do valet only, but they only have one or two people working that at a time, so if there are several cars theres a huge backup. I suppose this could be due to the pandemic and society refusing to go back to work, but I would suggest a way for the guests to park their own car if possible to help relieve that situation. Im sure I dont have the full story, but either way make sure you prepare for a possible wait for your car and plan your time accordingly. I believe you can call ahead but that wont help much if 5 people do that at one time. Anyway, still loved the hotel and its right next to a Starbucks and within walking distance to a couple of boutique coffee shops as well.
The staff were so helpful, directing us to restaurants, how to navigate the area. Every time we returned or were leaving for the hospital they were kind and caring. Every person working there was wonderful. I asked for an extra set of towels and they brought them up right away.
Wonderful place to stay! Staff is all super friendly. Rooms are immaculate. We always try to stay here when visiting our student.Be aware that since itβs in the middle of a college campus, there is occasionally an aroma of weed in the hall. Mostly not a problem in the rooms.
The Courtyard Cleveland University Circle was very convenient for me since my husband was having 2 days of testing at University Hospital. Our room was clean and very comfortable. I understand things have been hard during the COVID pandemic. I think this location is handling these times very well. Even though there was a horrible smell on our floor when you got off the elevator the first night the hotel did what they could to get rid of it and we didnt smell it again. We will definitely stay there again!!!
Was booked here by accident. Although a nice facility - it met none of my requirements. When I contacted the booking agency - they were able to transfer me to the Residence Inn by Marriott the next day. I did leave items in my room - but it took forever to get them. Finally an employee at the Residence Inn was able to get the items. That said I was required to wear my briefs and socks twice.
Positive: Clean, good location Negative: Water temp in the shower was inconsistent.took forever to get hot & didnΓΒΏt stay hot throughout a five minute shower! Valet staff was unimpressive/inattentive. Housekeeping suspended for Covid but they could have done mid-week refresh, TP, garbage, tow
We stayed one night and were very happy with the care taken on cleanliness. Dan, the GM, checked us in and gave us an overview of the room cleaning. They had wipes near the elevator and we took a few extra to wipe the door handles in the room. The room itself was comfortable and the shower pressure was good. The lady at check out was friendly too. We would stay again.
Hotel is good, Marriott quality, no doubts. It is clean and staff service is good, but everything that you can imagine was closed due to Covid, so no amenities, like no pool, no breakfast, nothing. And they are still charging the full rate for the night. On top of that if you go there by car you have to pay a ridiculous amount of US$ 21.00 (plus taxes of course) for a valet parking (that in my view should be complimentary). You cannot park the car by yourself. This is New York City level of charge for a parking lot for the day... But location is good, so I guess we end up paying for that.
Recently stayed here because my husband had a scheduled procedure at Clevland Clinic. The hotel was so clean and conveniently located near the hospital. I cant say enough about how nice and attentive all the staff were. Everyone was so friendly and made our stay effortless.
This is only hotel walking distance to university hospital, would think if staying because of family having surgery there that would offer a special price. Plus restaurant was closed, no free breakfast, the food in their market was way overpriced, bed uncomfortable. The good was that it was clean
During a bad snow storm, I made a reservation ,not knowing that, and was not told that this place had no power or heat. Stayed there cause it was close to where I work, . they stated they would have power by 11pm, didnt have it all night, nor did they have heat. The rooms were dark and warm. The builbing preserved the heat. My biggest complaint was that they didnt mention they had no electricity. Disappointed in the management. The place was nice and clean. Also I had a broken toilet lid
Nice clean standard hotel with very friendly staff. I arrived early before check in time and our room was ready. The hotel is located quite close to Case Western Reserve University and lots of places to eat. If you are a coffee drinker there was no coffee station in the lobby and the coffee in the room is so so, but there is a Starbucks coffee right outside the hotel.
As the name states, I do this for a living. This was an establishment I stayed at for a business trip. Hotel was sold out the three days I was there. The folks were very helpful and friendly, and I got the vibe that they know this is a good hotel and want to keep it that way. Room was quiet and clean, save for one minor spot on the carpet. All furniture and soft goods appear to be less than 5 years old. Everything in the room worked. Plenty of outlets. The showers were huge, excellent water flow. Power assist toilets. Elevators were smooth and fast. The small market shop had a decent selection of snacks, including fresh cakes and sandwiches. The hotels small restaurant was decent. Coffee was excellent. Lots of upscale fast food places right in the neighborhood. Overall, very clean, friendly, and would definitely stay here again.
No complaints about the experience. We were only there for a wedding, and didnt take advantage of any of the amenities. The room was very clean, well kept, and had ample space. Free valet parking was nice. And the room keys were RFID based, rather than the always prone to error magnetic strip ones. Just tap the card to the door, and youre in
Everything from the short walk to a dozen Little Italy restaurants to just another short walk to the Art Museum. On the Case Western Reserve campus and University Hospital. And with the most attentive, and best valet service EVER made this one of the most wonderful hotel stays Ive ever had!
There are parking garages all around the hotel, but none of them are for hotel guests. The ONLY option is valet parking that is an additional expense on top of an already high priced room.Room has a refrigerator in it, THAT DID NOT WORK. Lastly, I should mention that rooms incur an additional $65.00 per night (taxes and additional fees). Plan in paying around $300.00 per night for a hotel youll never want to stay at again.
The staff at this hotel is extremely gracious, friendly, and helpful. I was made to feel like the most important person staying there. The suite was well appointed, the mattress comfortable, and the shower was hot, great water pressure, and the entire room stylish and comfortable. One negative comment is that I feel the dining option is limited, the breakfast portions small and rather pricey. I suggest the hotel initiate a complimentary continental style breakfast, something light and easy (bread/bagels, cold cereal, coffee, tea, fruit juice, fresh fruit).
I recently attended a conference at this hotel and found the room to be very clean and accommodating. The rooms we used in the hotel for meetings were a bit small for our group but would have been GREAT for a group of say 25-40 people. The food was good - no problems there. The valet parking was very easy but you paid a price for that service. If I went again I may do that differently and find my own parking. All in all I would return to this hotel again in the future.
We stayed at the hotel for 3 days/2 nights. My husband had a CC visit scheduled and decided he wanted our two boys (9 & 5) to come along to make it a mini family vacation. Although I was hesitant, it worked out wonderful! The hotel is very clean, modern and fit our needs. The staff was very friendly through our entire stay. The complimentary shuttle was a blessing. Our drivers, Amy & Yvonne, were so nice and provided great laughs. The Bistro served good food & drinks. It was nice to have the option to stay in both nights to eat after busy days and the cold winter mix. Although the pool is small, our boys had it to themselves all three times. It was perfect for them. I would definitely book with this hotel again on a return visit.
While attending the a concert in downtown Cleveland, we wanted to stay close to town, but closer to Little Italy. The hotel staff was more than professional and exceptional when attending to our stay. The hotel has valet service which was fantastic! The staff was able to accommodate our every need, whether it was to borrow a corkscrew, provide extra towels, or a shuttle service to our dinner reservation in Little Italy. They always greeted our arrivals and departures with a smile and friendly welcome or good bye. The room was perfect (size, roomy, temperature, cleanliness)- the bed was comfortable - the bathroom was clean and roomy. It had more than adequate space and light - overall, the stay was perfect!
Room was very clean and staff was incredibly friendly. The location was very convenient and they provided shuttle services to and from the event we were attending. Shower was very spacious, but the water temperature was difficult to control. Bed was very comfortable and the area was quiet with no disturbances during the night.
Very disappointing experience from the moment we walked in, to when we checked out an hour later. We werent greeted when we walked in, and we were essentially ignored so the front desk associate and other employees could continue their conversation about their weekend and how they havent worked with each other in awhile. We were bombarded by flies in the lobby. We werent given a key until about 20 minutes before we couldnt take it anymore and checked out. We had to have our door unlocked by a very nice and helpful maintenance man. He was literally the only positive of our brief stay.As for the room itself. The bathroom was nice. The room is very small, the 1970s pull out sofa had a huge white crusty stain on the underside of the cushion, and the 2 inch mattress was a dingy yellow. The main bed had little red spots on the pillow cases and the sheets. Completely grossed out, we packed all our stuff and ate the 180.00 for this gem and slept at home while my wife was still at the hospital after she got out of surgery.
My husband and I have visited Cleveland nine times since last fall. This was our first stay at this hotel and we were extremely pleased. We have to stay near the Cleveland Clinic and usually stay right on the clinic campus, but have been unhappy with the hotels there. The Courtyard is a great location - in the middle of Case Western Reserve U, the museum district, neighboring big parks and Little Italy. The Courtyard is well appointed, clean, and very comfortable. There is a restaurant/bar that serves breakfast and dinner, with a nice selection of delicious food. There are electrical outlets in the restaurant to charge phones or plug in computers. The rooms have comfortable beds, refrigerators, flat screen tv, and spacious bathrooms. The shower is huge with plenty of hot water. We were able to get to doctor appointments easily using the free shuttle service provided by the hotel. The service is available to guests for anyplace within two miles, so easy to get to the restaurants of Little Italy. All staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is a gem.
My wife was having surgery at UH and I wanted a room close for two nights. So I went and and paid extra to stay close. The hotel is very nice and clean. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom was huge and big shower. Small TV for this type hotel but big enough. The desk was nice. Parking was $$$ and it was cheaper to leave my car at UH and walk. My complaint is some noise. The second might my wife discharged so she stayed with me as we had follow up the next day. We had 2 very long days at the hospital and both were exhausted. So we wanted to sleep in a little. However, housekeepers were pounding on door at 8:30 waking us up. Finally yelled and told them to go away. Not sure why they came to room so early as there had to be other rooms ready and empty. I guess cause I tipped the day before they were racing to get the tip that I leave. So I told the front desk I didnβt appreciate the early wake up call and all he asked was, βDid they leave?β Well yes after they woke us up and told them to go away. No sorry, nothing. So service attitude was not great but hotel is nice.
I stayed at the hotel when my daughter was having testing and surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. It is located near the clinic and has a reliable shuttle bus to transport you back and forth. The beds were very comfortable, the room clean and updated. The staff - I mean everyone- was very welcoming and went out of their way to be sure that we were taken care of. I will stay here again. And I felt that the price was very reasonable for the value given.
I cannot say enough about this hotel experience. My mom and I had one of the most awful experiences of our life when my father was life flighted to the University Hospital Cleveland Medical Center he had to have urgent open heart surgery. We had to drive an hour and a 1/2 and when we arrived we were greeted by one of the most amazing front desk staff, the best Ive even seen at any hotel, and I travel a lot. She didnt just greet us she became our friend and helped comfort us, prayed with us for my dads recovery. All the staff at this hotel was amazing, the valet staff was super helpful as well. The beds are amazing, the rooms were immaculately clean. If I had to give 1 bad review of the entire place it was the pool it was really cold and was not enjoyable but this is a 5 star hotel bar none. Thank you for helping us through one of the most horrible weeks of our life. Marriott you always go above and beyond when hiring staff and this family wants to thank you very much!!!!
This is an excellent hotel, although tucked between the medical centers, a bit hard to find. But what a hidden gem! The staff is excellent, accommodating and friendly. We were in a hurry and they tended to us upon check in, even upgrading us to a queen suite. The car was valeted later and all that staff was great. We received the same treatment when we checked out. This is truly a wonderful place to stay.
My family and I fly to Cleveland every summer for the 4th of July. We usually attend a hotel downtown for a better view. When we arrived at our usual hotel, they told us Arionna was no longer with the hotel. I was devastated!!! I immediately stopped the clerk from checking us in and personally called Arionna to see if she was still in hotels. Luckily she told me to come on down to the courtyard. She told me about all of the amenities you guys offered. Once we arrived, we asked for Arionnaβs section because we know the girl takes pride in her work. My grand kids just love her! We got a great view from the hallway window facing downtown. We now have a new home when we come to Cleveland. We will be back every summer. Thanks for the clean rooms and friendly staff!!
Decent place to stay in the university area. Walkable to the nearby restaurants and other attractions in the area. The amenities were average. Did not like the room cleaning service - bare minimum. Comfortable beds. But the phone area by the side of the beds and the television were dirty. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Valet parking only and extra cost. Good option given the location.
Our business this trip was mainly at the Cleveland Clinic which is why we chose this location. It was convenient andeasy to get to even during morning rush hour. After a day of travel it was refreshing to walk into a clean room where thetemperature was perfect, the beds very comfortable, linens crisp and a modern shower. The hotel was quiet which wasappreciated; staff helpful.Valet parking efficient but be prepared to have all your belongings ready to go. Hard to retrieve something you forgot.Did miss breakfast buffet as with other Courtyards but Hotel Deli food good and if you love Starbucks, youre in luck !!
Stayed here for my brother-in-laws surgery at UH. Very clean and nice! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable. Starbucks coffee, and Bistro provide a nice place to eat, and food was good. We were very glad to be able to catch dinner without having to leave the hotel.
The room was immaculate, especially the bathroom (how Do they get the shower glass so clean?).Staff was courteous & helpful. Lobby was beautiful. Shuttle bus service is a great amenity. The only area that needed improvement was the Bistro/food service area. The staff was pleasant & friendly but lacked training. They admitted lacking experience so the process of order placing/preparation was painfully slow- a problem if you just wanted to grab a quick coffee & yogurt & get to your appointment on time.
Great hotel in a convenient location. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Valet parking only- no lot available, as its right in the middle of University circle. Room was mostly very nice, but could have used a more detailed cleaning- everything was very dusty, there was a large clump of hair on the shower drain, sugar in the corners of the coffeemaker shelf, etc... Mattresses were a bit too hard for me personally, but everyone has different tastes. Staff was friendly and helpful- however, housekeeping entered randomly at 6pm and woke us up by knocking and attempting to enter at 8:30-9am even though checkout wasnt until 12pm. Overall, a good stay. Would definitely stay here again.
My room and the hotel in general was nicely furnished in a contemporary style. The room was a nice size and the bathroom was larger than average with modern fixtures. At all hours I was in the room, it was quiet and comfortable. The fitness center was clean and adequately furnished, with all equipment functioning well. Staff members were helpful and polite. Thus, the 3 days I spent in the hotel were very enjoyable.
Staff is AWESOME!!! Every Valet they have is sweet and good at their job, no matter what time of day or night Check-in had a smile and something nice to say when u walk up to/past them, Shuttle driver was a doll, she got me where I needed to go and relaxed me before and after Dr. visit just being herself. I loved my room! Chic yet comfortable with a great shower, but have to say I love a hot bath. But if they had a tub they would be perfect....and have to evict me. Great place!!!
My brother was having reconstructive surgery on his jaw. This was a very serious surgery and was a very stressful time for us. The location of the hotel was perfect as it was right across the street from the hospital. The rooms were charming and perfect for all of our needs. The associates were all very kind and considerate and did everything they could to help us. The food in the bistro was delicious! Everyone and everything about our stay there was 150% more then we could have asked for!!
I love the location of this hotel right by Cases campus, and within easy walking distance of Little Italy, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Natural History Museum, and Severance Hall. Too bad the beds are way too hard. The breakfast was good, though not as fast as just ordering from the Starbucks right next to the hotel. The pool is small and cool (perfect for two kids splashing around while parents relax on the deck), the overall hotel is pleasant. The face-to-face folks (front desk, restaurant staff, etc.) were pleasant, efficient, and helpful. The elevator is awesomely fast. The beds are rather hard, which was surprising given the price per night of this hotel. The bathroom was not especially clean (mildew in the shower, shower drain rather slow, etc.). All of the luggage cart wheels had flat tires, making them difficult to handle. A hot tub in the pool area would be a welcome amenity to compensate for the ridiculously hard beds.
Loved the location for visiting Case Western and loved the facility. Very nice room and bathroom. Bed was very comfy. Staff were helpful. I docked one star because we only had two towels for three people. We didnt realize it until the third person was standing in the shower looking for a dry towel. While Im all for conservation, two towels is a little skimpy. But still a wonderful place to stay!
The Good: Quiet, comfortable room that was pitch black at night. Feel asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. Perfectly sized bathroom with a great walk-in shower. Staff was all super friendly, helpful, and treated me as a valued member. Great location with a lot of restaurants within walking distance. The Bad: Not the best parking. The Ugly: Not a thing.
My family and I stayed here before my fathers surgery at University. It was conveniently located across the street and we were able to walk to the hospital the morning of his surgery. The hotel is very clean and has spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Michelle, the check in Rep was very kind and helpful. She was able to assist us in having multiple rooms close together for our stay. It is a little pricey, but the location, quality of rooms and friendliness of the staff was worth it. I wish we didnt have to pay $20/vehicle for parking though but thats life in the big city, I guess
I had a great experience at this hotel. Got there around 10:30 in the evening after spending the day at the hospital with my dad. They mentioned a discount since I had someone in the hospital. Reduced my rate to half price because of it. It was so nice to have a nice hot shower and delicious breakfast in the morning. It was just what I needed to refresh.
I was in Cleveland as a patient at Cleveland Clinic and received a discounted rate as such. The staff couldnt have been more helpful, courteous and friendly. They were definitely people-oriented. We had a King room with sofa. That bathroom was very modern and spacious. Valet parked our car at the hotel and never drove one time because the complimentary shuttle service offered is awesome. They take you to and from anywhere you want to go within a 2 mile radius, from dr appts to dinner, shopping, pharmacy, you name it. The drivers are knowledgeable and eager to help with suggestions about where to go and what to do. This is a very valuable service if you dont know the area. Everything is clean and modern and well maintained. My husband used the fitness room each day and was happy with the facility. I would highly recommend this hotel for the price. This was my second stay and we will be staying there again in the near future. The only difficulty I encountered was spotty Wifi a few times but it certainly wouldnt change my opinion of the hotel.
This hotel is most convenient to Case Western Reserve University. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The bar is the only one we found where we could have a quiet drink at night. Breakfast was good quality and efficiently served.
They had our room prepared an hour before official check-in. Room had no strange lights that would interfere with sleeping. The thermostat had both cooling and heating, to rapidly change the temp of the room. Comfortable beds. Excellent location on case campus. Did not try other services or food/drink.
This has the potential to be a lovely hotel. It is in a great location and the decor is lovely, however, the customer service from the front desk leaves something to be desired. When you call the front desk, they are very short and hurried as if there is someplace else, theyβd rather be and you are bothering them. I have had the same negative experience in person. Along with giving me the impression that I am a bother, the front desk is also not efficient at all. Anytime you ask a question, no one knows, or so they say. This type of service leaves me disappointed and confused because this really is a lovely hotel. Itβs a shame that bad customer service from the front desk put a damper on my entire experience.
Clean. Friendly helpful staff. Bistro was supposed to be open until 10 and closed at 7:30. Very disappointed. Coffee in room has cheap creamer/sweetener and none in lobby. Parking costs. Nothing more than average or less. I have gotten much more at cheap hotels. Costs more due to location which I needed with family in UH intensive care. I would only stay here because of the hospital.
I stayed for one night while packing up my son from Case Western. The room was clean and bright with a very comfortable bed and pillows. While I didnt need clothes storage on this trip, there was a 3-drawer dresser as well as an armoire for hanging clothing. Plenty of counter space above the dresser that extended to a desk. A section of the desk was on rollers and could have been moved to a different location, for use with the easy chair. This is a handy feature if two people are trying to spread out and work. The bathroom is luxurious with a walk-in shower. There is plenty of counter space for getting ready. A coffee bar and mini fridge were an added bonus. The valets were helpful and quick in retrieving the car - the cars are kept in a nearby garage, not in an outdoor lot. The location is great and very close to campus and dorms and walking distance to Little Italy.
We stayed 2 nights when a family member was in the university hospital. Location is good with plenty of eats & coffee within walking distance. The staff was nice & they accommodated our late check out request. Would stay again. Only complaint is no microwave in the room, there is one available to use in the lobby however.
We chose this Marriott due to location for an interview at Case Western Dental school. It was literally a 5 minute walk. The hotel was new and the rooms were beautiful and very 2014 decor. The bed was very comfortable. I wish there had of been a bath tub , but the shower was huge and very nice with glass doors. The King size suite did not have any doors to separate the living room from bedroom . If everyone goes to sleep at the same time its fine but if not you have to try and fall asleep with the lights on. The staff was so friendly and very accomadating. They were always smiling. We had breakfast included with our room and it was a huge plate of food which you ordered from the restaurant the choice was yours. We would definitely return without hesitation to this Marriott. The only negative thing in the area as it did not have any restaurants for a full dinner. A lot of more student places but we drove and found a T.G.I.Fridays and Carrabbas. A Panera Bread was within walking distance to the hotel great for lunch. We enjoyed our visit at Marriott and will choose this hotel if we have a next trip.
Took the water 15 minutes to start running warm, and even then it was barely hot enough for a shower, and the water pressure was ABSURDLY low. I called the front desk, and the staff member asked me if I really needed a shower, because there wouldnt be anyone who could help us with the hot water until the following morning!!! The fridge also didnt work. The room itself was clean and nice, but we were stressed out and really inconvenienced by the water and the fridge. They took $40 off my bill as a solution. Not super impressed.
The hotel is centrally located to University Hospital and Case Western. The rooms are spacious but dirty. Our towels were used by the previous guest and not replaced for us, the room overall was not cleaned. The lobby is small but the bistro is full service. Staff was good. it is a high price but you are paying for location. It will not let me not recommend this property on the survey.
I stay at this Marriott several times a year, and its always like coming home, but without chores! The staff are so friendly and eager to help in any way. The rooms are spotless, comfortable and pleasantly decorated. The dining/bar offers really good food. The hotel is close to so many cultural attractions, restaurants and scenic parks. And the vibe added by Case Western makes the area fun to explore.
As a Marriott reward member, I stay at Marriott hotels frequently. This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I had to extend my stay due to a family member having surgery. The first front dest associate gave me their hospital price($139) he said I should just let them know the next day if I was staying. The next morning I went to the desk, they told me that that rate was now sold out and the woman gave me another rate ($199). I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was rude, lacked compassion and then proceeded to tell me she would charge me $269 because this is their busy weekend and they can book the rooms for the higher rate. That they wouldnt make any money charging me $199. Thankfully, I was able to book a room at another hotel (Not a Marriott) not far. One who had excellent customer service and staff who actually seemed to know what they were doing. I suggest getting your staff on the same page and having your manager take a basic class is customer service.
I was hesitant at first in booking this hotel, but when I got there I realized it was a gem ! I came for my sonβs orientation at CWRU and I must say it was a fantastic place . The room were clean and comfortable; staff were always ready to assist and friendly. We walked everywhere to fabulous dining places and entertainment after the orientation. When it rained shuttle buses transported us to different restaurants and meeting places inside the University. Canβt beat the price, location , and comfort!
Our stay was excellent, room was modern and clean. The staff were professional and courteous and even helped with opening a bottle of our wine. When asked for a late check out no problem and given a very generous time out. Would stay again to enjoy all Cleveland has to offer.
Hospitality abound here during my 3 day stay. Smiles and greetings were given to me and all the guests that I encountered, to include the ones in my group of about 20. The front desk readily responded to my needs and assisted me with local suggestions for food and entertainment. The beautiful, recently renovated room was well designed, with great beds and cleaned daily by noon . The hotel provided free shuttle service to nearby Case Western Reserve buildings until 9 pm. The driver was courteous and prompt in responding to requests for rides. Thank you all!
This hotel is very conveniently located, close to the hospitals and Little Italy, and not far from downtown. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. Valet parking was the only viable option which was not what we had hoped for but it was quick. Would recommend the hotel and would stay there again.
This was a good stay.I had no issues except for there is no self-parking. It is just valet which costs $20.00 but there are public parking lots which can be used for as low as $10.00/day.They did not have basic amenities like free coffee/creamer/sugar in the lobby area which i did not like. They have a bistro inside. The rooms are nice, clean and spacious.
The hotel is a great choice for business. The parking was a little tricky though so make sure you talk to the people in the hotel before you enter into the metered parking area. I received a ticket 10 minutes after I parked my car in that parking lot behind the hotel when I was trying to consult the hotel staff where I should park. I would recommend the guests do valet parking. However, overall the room and lobby was very clean and decently decorated. (It will be a bonus to have a hair dryer in the room.) The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful to help me resolve any issues I experienced.
This place is filthy and needs a complete remodel. Elevator key pad in lobby was missing floor numbers. Carpet in room needed to be badly cleaned. No sofa in room only one easy chair. Room smelled bad. Very small television. This does not meet Marriott standards and would recommend you not book your room here. Do much improvements need to be made to this property. Sorry we booked two nights here and we just walked into the room.
Top notch service, room was found to be super clean, all staff members were excellent and some called me by name. The only issues were the second floor windows not blocking out the urban noise at the wee hours of the night as well as the lack of parking requiring you to valet park your car. Although this wasnt a big deal, it was an unexpected expense that I was not ready for. This hotel also has a bar and food counter. The food was good, however I opted to dine in the surrounding area and experience what it had to offer!
The hotel was very nice and in a great location for many things but my purpose was because my daughter was in the hospital across the road. The hospital referred me to the Courtyard saying that they offered discounts to family members of those in the hospital. The discount was minimal. I was able to get the room cheaper on a travel website. Knowing that most people in this situation are only using the room for a few hours of sleep before returning to the hospital, it is disappointing. Since the hospital is referring family members to this hotel you would think that the hotel would offer a substantial discount. If you are going to the area for the museums, etc...this is a great location with shuttle service and the rooms are very nice. Because of that I would recommend this hotel, but if you are looking for compassion and the understanding that you are only there for a few hours to rest before returning to the hospital, this isnt the place.
The hotel is nice and updated. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff, however, are a mixed bag. I have had one of the worst experiences with the staff here, as well as another staff member that went above and beyond. The food/beverage service is extremely lacking in timeliness between taking and fulfilling orders. However, this is where a servicemember shined by providing me with a free drink while I waited over 30 minutes for my food - it was not busy either, only a handful of us drinking and eating. Just watch out for the valet service, you may get a rude and lazy person with zero hospitality skills...
This is a beautiful hotel - rooms are well appointed (walk in shower w/ glass door, DirecTV w/ many channels) and spacious...staff is friendly and helpful. I even had a great experience w/ the valet parking operations (so they may have improved that since some of the other online reviews saying that service is slow) - but the way they do breakfast must be improved. There are not a lot of good breakfast options w/in walking distance, so many just want to eat at the hotel...this creates a HUGE backlog/line in the AM as people are leaving for the day. The food is good ( but $), but sometimes had to wait 15 minutes just to order! The counter service is great for the afternoon and evening when so many people arenβt leaving at once, but they need to find a way to incorporate a buffet setup in the AM or people are going to keep being unhappy w/ the wait times. This hotel is on the pricey side too - like Iβd say Iβm used to paying about 20-30% less for a similar property when I travel. It has a few features that to me personally are worth paying more for (nice shower, channel lineup on the TV) so I will return, but I could see where others who donβt care about stuff like that would find it overpriced.
Overall a miserable hotel experience! My advice... choose another hotel or change your reservation before you arrive! They dont care about your Elite status; they offer no free breakfast, no voucher for breakfast, no lounge, etc. in exchange for your loyalty. In fact, the front desk didnt even acknowledge my Gold status. I waited at least 15 minutes each time I requested my car from the valet service (which was required); a frustrating way to start each day! They didnt clean my room each day despite me clarifying that I wanted them to clean it! BTW, since when is cleaning the room optional? On two days I had no hot water and when I reported the issue I was told that theyd look into it, zero accountability and no apologies or concessions. Overall surly attitude at the front desk! BTW, dont ask for a printed copy of your folio because you wont get one... too busy I suppose despite the fact that I was the only one there at 6am!
Everyone likes a new clean hotel. But our weekend wedding group was welcomed with open arms. Every night we took over the outdoor fire pit seating area... No problem! Had a breakfast reception in the lobby Sunday morning! No problem! Great layout of public spaces. Walking distance to museums, botanical garden and restaurant row.
It was a work trip, and the Courtyard by Marriott exceeded my expectations again. The check-in desk people knew their town well, and gave me two local Indian food options within walking distance. Umbrellas for the rain, kindness as a mood booster, and I was on my way to the HAN Convening. Marriott sure does a good job.
I had the pleasure of spending a total of 4 weeks at your hotel during the last 3 months. I am quite certain that these remarks will not come to you as a surprise - the staff from the receptionists to the shuttle drivers were simply amazing! They went over and beyond to make my staff as enjoyable as possible! To every employee at this location, thank you for the wonderful job that you do everyday! I will never forget!
We had a nice stay at this Courtyard. The Cleveland University Area was beautiful. The hotel & services were very good including the Valet Parking. Our only problem stemmed from our room rate. As part of a Wedding Group, we did not receive the pre arranged room discount. The hotel stated we called our reservation too late. Really??
Nice hotel, very clean. Very modern and had nice people working the front desk. The parking situation is pretty horrific and youre pretty much forced into using their valet service which isnt too expensive but not exactly cheap either. Stayed here because of a wedding. If I were to visit the Cleveland area again, I would consider this hotel, but would want to compare it to others that would have better parking access, which would be difficult since most areas down town are packed.
Great hotel, inside and out. It is in a good location and near public transportation. The staff was warm and helpful. The rooms were clean as was the lobby area. Unfortunately, there is no complimentary onsite parking. There is valet parking with in/out privileges. For short term parking there is app based parking next to the hotel.
We stayed there last year and the stay was good. This year it was better. The place is clean, comfortable and well run. We like that there are about 30 eateries within a two block walk. Also, being in a university neighborhood suits us better than a downtown or entertainment area. Only minor complaint was the free internet speed. It was good enough for basic emailing and surfing but being a speed demon... They do have higher speed available but Im too thrifty to pay for it. Other than that, we will most likely stay there again on our next rip to Cleveland.
I stay at the Courtyard Cleveland University Circle several times a year. I am always impressed! Staff are exceptionally pleasant and efficient. The hotel is very clean. I love the dining area--very boutique. Food is excellent whether youre grabbing fresh fruit and bagel or ordering a from a nice choice of dinner entrees, and they serve your favorite Starbucks drinks and wine or cocktails. The fitness room is very nice. You couldnt ask for a better location if youre visiting Case Western, University Hospitals, the Cleveland Clinic or the many many cultural institutions within walking distance. Wonderful restaurants and shopping are also just out the hotel doors.
The room was clean and comfortable. Nice desk to work on. Plenty of outlets for devices. Staff was friendly and courteous. They have a shuttle for a 2 mile radius, but none for the airport, wish they did. Shuttle drivers were prompt and courteous. Its walking distance to Little Italy, for the best homemade Italian eats around. The rapid station, red line, is about a half mile from the hotel. Close to some shopping and Mitchells ice cream, yum! Its across from Case Western Reserve and very close to Severance Hall and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Its about a 20 - 30 min drive to downtown and the Rock N Roll HOF.
Clean hotel and a good shuttle service. Works well for a couple of nights stay. Close to good restaurants in a Little Italy and shuttle can provide a free ride or walk in the nice weather. Very nice fitness center. Close to the Cleveland Clinic and shuttle provides a ride. Overall a good experience and one of the better hotels in the area. Restaurant in hotel is fair and works for a quick bite but a bit pricey.
Ive never been to the area and picked Courtyard by Marriot on reputation. However, I was wrong. Not a fan of this Marriott hotel and probably the worst I have stayed at (I am a former Platinum Elite and current Gold member). Shuttle services to nearby areas are definitely a plus. However, my floor smelled like weed and at one point during the stay people were knocking on doors asking for money. I seriously question the security of this hotel. Went to use the Fitness Center which looked really nice on check-in. But when I went to use facility, there were multiple children using it like a playground. I would not recommend this location to anyone and I will definitely not stay again.
It started out great. One night, we ordered dinner which one of the meals was missing the chicken. In order to get refunded, it took an act of Congress. One of the 5 days we were there, I had left the do not disturb sign out so, naturally, our room was not cleaned. So, upon our return @ 6p, I called to request they clean our room. I called again @ 7p. I called again @ 8:09a, this time, speaking to the manager on duty. At almost 9p, with still nothing, I went downstairs to front desk to.get fresh towels, as we were needing to get ready for an event (which is why we were here in Cleveland, OH). When I returned to my room, I noticed the towels were, literally, holy....with holes, worn away & what looked like ink stains.
We stayed here while attending the Cleveland Piano Competition and had a great time. The hotel room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. The local of the hotel was perfect. We were within walking distance of a number wonderful restaurants, about 5 blocks from Little Italy, about 5 minutes walk from the Museum of Art and the botanical gardens. We had a fabulous time and were sorry to leave.
Look we are not expecting a full service 5 star experience and the product was not over priced. It would have been nice to have the large valet staff help my elderly mother out of the car and how much does it cost to add a mattress cover to the bed? Breakfast was expensive and slow but there is a StarBucks next door.It was like an accountant went thru and took out each item that would have added to a more comfortable stay and instead just wrote BASIC in each column.
Great place to stay in Cleveland, just outside of city limits. Awesome staff; very friendly and accommodating. Loved the shuttle service with Mike. Close to Little Italy (for an awesome dinner) and more. Would absolutely not hesitate to stay again; in fact, looking forward to it! Clean hotel and very pleasant stay. Breakfast choices slightly limited, but that would not prevent another overnight here. Kudos to the staff here!
The hotel is very nice - rooms clean. The Bistro offered a variety of meals. The reason for the low ranking is for the fact they did not disclose that I had no parking available and had no choice than to use the valet parking. I am happy to tip someone when I choose to use a service and did so as these individuals work hard. My grievance is that they also charged me $21.60 per night for parking and did not let me know when I checked in or out. They ask for a credit card on file for incidentals (very normal). I had three pending charges for $60, $80, $70 once all was done the final charge on my card was $87.89. I called the front desk to ask what the charges were for and was told for incidentals. I again asked what the charge was for and still did not get a clear answer. (Incidentals) was all the front desk would tell me. I requested a receipt and then saw the charges for the parking. It is infuriating that management is not forthcoming with this requirement.
Great stay. Stayed here because I was taking part in a study at Rainbow Babies Hospital. Was able to walk to my appointment.Staff here was always friendly and very courteous.Only thing to be aware of is if you stay here you have to use their valet parking, which is $20 a day.
Friendly staff, good reliable shuttle service within a 2 mile radius of the hotel, clean comfortable rooms.Poorly managed, employees are doing the best they can given the guidance, tools they have to work with, and their limited training. There defiantly is a management issue at this hotel.
Myself and a colleague went to check in here after a dinner meeting only to be told they could not honor our reservations due to over selling rooms for the night. We had booked several days in advance and had reservations confirmed. Manager admitted to knowing there was an issue in the morning and never once tried to reach out to either of us. Can only surmise they hoped we would not show up. Ended up having to move to hotel down the street which fortunately had availability. Would never stay here and will question ever trying to stay at a marriot again.
Great stay! Lots to do in the area, restaurants within walking distance or a shuttle is available. Wonderful rooms, very quiet and comfortable! The only thing that should be changed is the pool temperature, it is absolutely freezing! Otherwise we loved it, I would stay again if I ever come back to Cleveland.
Hotel understaffed. Stay filled with problems. Wedding took over the valet and on site parking was unavailable for several hours. Housekeeping was unable to makeup rooms. Rooms are small. Ok for a couple, too small for more than 2 guests. King sized bed pushed too close to wall on one side. Very difficult to get in and out. No bedding in room for pullout sofa bed. Plus: Close to Case Western. Nice large showers have replaced old shower/bathtub combinations.
Perfect for parents & families visiting Case Western Reserve University. The Courtyard is located right in University Circle, walking distance to the university buildings, the museums, and the uptown shops and restaurants. The staff is friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable with up-to-date decor. It would be nice if they included breakfast.
Stayed here to attend a concert about a mile away. The valet were super friendly and helpful, check in was a breeze, and a shuttle service took us to the concert venue! Awesome staff, clean, cute bar and fireplace area, and the room was clean and perfect for what we needed.
Bad experience this time around at the Courtyard. Room key wasnt ready, despite having done mobile check-in. Then, they put me in a room with 2 double beds instead of the requested King Bed. They were able to accommodate me and even brought up the new key, which was nice.Unfortunately, the room was sub-optimal. The thermostat didnt work right, and the room was continually either too cold or too hot. Lost sleep having to get up and fiddle with it! Also, the alarm clock was screwed up, still on Eastern Standard Time instead of Daylight savings, even though this change was 4months ago.Next, service at the bistro was slow. I went down for a slice of π₯ cake at 8:50pm, but ended up bailing out at 9:05pm, and grabbed some M&Ms instead.Lastly, the valet service was slow and unpredictable. Waited over 20 minutes for my vehicle, and they werent that busy. Then, they actually left SOMEBODY ELSES KEYS in my car when they brought it around, and seemed totally surprised when I dropped these back off. Really??!Overall, there is no sense of urgency or hustle at this Courtyard. Staff seem to be playing an Insiders game. Roberta in housekeeping was the exception, and provided exceptional service. Since they cater to the business crowd, I would hope the could do better in the future.Steve Smith, Marriott Platnium Lifetime memberLaura, I appreciate your comments, and do hope mine were helpful as well. Thanks for taking these seriously. It does feel like the service quality has slipped somewhat over the past 3 years.Iβm not sure if you offer me Marriott Rewards points for my less-than-satisfactory experience this last time, but if so, Iβd be pleased to accept these as a goodwill gesture!Steve
My husband and I stayed here during my surgery a total of 9 days the staff at the Marriott made our stay as close to being at home as possible. They went above and beyond to helps us when needed. It is a beautiful hotel, and rooms were very comfortable, I would rate this hotel a 10 and would highly recommend it to anyone!
Room was very nice and up-to-date, quiet (couldnt hear a lot of noise from above or from out in the hall). Staff was accomodatng- our clock did not work and they quickly got us a new one. Very, very conviently located next to University Hospital where my husband had an out-patient surgery. The price seemed quite high (we fianlly did get a patient discount- but still pricey) since there was no complimentary breakfast available and items that are usually available if you forgot them were in their market to purchase.
The Courtyard by Marriot at Cleveland University was an excellent stay for the duration of my trip to Ohio. My room was cozy and large, with a single bed, desk, couch (which folds out into a bed), TV with satellite, dresser, mini-fridge, air conditioner, coffee maker, and a gorgeous bathroom with fresh towels every morning an a shower.Leaving my room each morning, there was an abundance of great services provided by the Hotel. These included a washer and dryer (for $1.50 per wash and per dry), indoor pool, breakfast until noon, a bar, and a business library which acted as a great place to get work done without being stuck in my room all day.Outside of the building itself, the hotel also provided an excellent shuttle service which made traveling around University Circle a breeze.I would gladly stay again in this Hotel again. My score is missing a star only because the room service is sub-par or what I would expect at a 3 star hotel and the Hotel Bistro has very odd opening and closing times compared to when most people feel like eating.
We arrived late and left early the next morning, but the hotel was comfortable while we were there. If we would have stayed longer I would have checked out the pool and fitness center. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was delicious. The valet car service was quick and efficient.
We booked the Courtyard University Circle for our out of town guests. We had visitors from 14 different states coming for my daughters wedding. The location is outstanding. Close to shopping, museums and restaurants. The Courtyard was close to our wedding venue, so we used the hotel shuttle service which was super convenient. The staff was very helpful, courteous and just nice! No issues at all, which was amazing since we were one of three other weddings at the hotel that weekend. I would highly recommend this venue for your out of town guests.
Rooms are great for this type of hotel.Pretty much locked into using thier valet service for your car. Add 20 onto your Bill.Little over priced, can get rooms from a proper Marriott branded hotel thats less then 10 minutes away for half the price. (And if your gold and up), the other hotel you get free breakfast there.Location is great for certain needs. Lots of restaurants around.
This hotel is tucked away off the main street, but centrally located. Restaurants near by, museums, hospitals and of course the University campuses. There is a complimentary shuttle that will take you around a 2 mile radius. The room was sufficient for my needs, wished it was a tad bit cleaner. Staff is very friendly and shuttle drivers too. I would stay here again if I was in the area. There was a party on my floor one night, noisy. (I was there for 7 nights.)
My wife, son, and I stayed at the Courtyard Cleveland University Circle because of its close proximity to the Cleveland Clinic where my son was scheduled for surgery. We also picked a Marriott hotel because of my excellent experiences with them on my business trips over the years. Having free shuttle service to the Cleveland Clinic was a great benefit. Everyone we met was very friendly and helpful which included front desk staff, restaurant staff, valet parking drivers, and the shuttle drivers. Our room was very clean and the decor pleasant and modern. We had breakfasts at the hotel and the food was delicious. Would definitely stay here again.
My husband was transferred to University Hospital and the Courtyard was directly across the street from the hospital. So it was a great convenience. The staff were particularly nice and helpful The van would take me to the drug store and the driver was very pleasant and helpful. There was a driver Mark, who was great to take us to the airport when my husband was discharged. The room was confortable and the discount for family members of patients was helpful. It was a very great convenience overall for me.
Great location, parking is a bit problematic, not a lot of choices right next to hotel for food, but close. They have a shuttle -that I didnt use to take you within 2 miles. parking is $20/day valet. Thats not listed in Marriott website. The staff work hard to try and make things work. Great location to get to museums, little Italy etc.
I had a great time staying for 6-days. The location of the hotel.was great next to world class attractions and very good restaurants. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. Especially Amy the shuttle driver. She was very knowledgeable of the area and made fantastic recommendations.
Everyone was extraordinarily helpful! I wish I knew their names so that we could recognize them by name. The front desk staff who checked us in Saturday night couldnβt have been more pleasant. Our daughter had auditions at Case Western/ Cleveland Institute of Music. She was asked to stay overtime for a late afternoon lesson and meeting. The Sunday staff could not have been more helpful. They took our bags and held them in the back for us, when our daughter had this unexpected change in her schedule. Even the valet staff was excellent , friendly, helpful. The group of employees at this hotel are a real credit to your company
Beautiful hotel, great staff. large nice well laid out room. everything worked. nice heating and ac controls. great i could keep fan turned on (i like fan noise at night). good elevator. great restaurant, good portions, decent price. comfortable bed. room was very quiet as well. did not hear other guests. nice shower and toilet. very clean. lots of outlets. very nice tv and fast remote. direct tv in room was great. carpet on the floor which i prefer. hardwood looks nice but is loud and cold.would like to see complimentary breakfast, microwave in rooms and free or cheaper parking. other than that absolutely perfect. in fact we are staying again next week.
This is a great place to stay. Rooms are very nice and spotless. Staff is amazing. Very conveniently located to Case Western Reserve University and to museums, etc. Walking distance to bars, restaurants and supermarket. I have been there about 15 times in the past two years and have many more stays planned. Easily accessible by train or taxi from the airport.
We stayed at the hotel for my daughters Bat Mitzvah. The staff was exceptional. The sales department did a superb job of organizing our rooms. We used the courtesy van to go to the party and other places. The van saved many of our guests the cost of a rental car. I would highly recommend this hotel.
I reserved a two night stay in person and I was told that my room rate would be #136.00 per night and I was charged for the 1st night $180.00 then on Saturday I was charged an additional $ 200.00 . I went to the front desk and inquired about the overcharge and nothing could be done because management was not in on the weekend. I called customer service and spoke to a guy about my issue and he was unconcerned and stated that he was from reservations and that I had to talk to the front desk. I stated to him that the front desk couldnt help me and that I had to wait until Monday. Why would I wait until Monday when I am having my staycation this weekend and the money that I thought I had is not in my account and now my staycation is ruined. I called again the second time and spoke to a lady who had great customer service and explain to me that I would have to talk directly to the property. And she put in a ticket that will take about 5 business days to hear back from someone here. Well my staycation has been ruined. This was my 1st and my last time staying here. Please check your credit card account constantly when staying here to make sure that you are not overcharged. I had a great time staying at the DoubleTree in Beachwood so I will stay there next time.
Great hotel- new design and facilities but make sure not to park in what seems like their property. It isnβt and there are no signs saying so. I was met with a nasty meter maid and several tickets. One more night and Iβm sure she would have towed my car. The hotel has a valet service which you are obliged to use - but they donβt tell you this. The drivers take your car to a garage on the other side and across the street. It felt like a scam
My experience overall with the staff was good under the circumstances of our visit but very disappointed in their housekeeping services during our stay. Thats the primary reason I didnt give them an excellent rating. If that can be addressed we would use this hotel again if needed.
Clean, efficient, friendly. room was large, all room amenities excellent. Great location for Case Western, University Hospital and Cleveland Clinic. Also cultural places like the Museum of Art, which is excellent. Pool was closed indefinitely, I did not ask why, but you might want to check this if you want to stay and use pool.,
My husband and I visited Cleveland for a long weekend. I cant say enough about this hotel! Ive done a significant amount of traveling in the past several years, and I cant think of a time that Ive been so impressed by a hotels accommodations, location, and STAFF. The rooms were pristine, with a luxurious bed and a fantastic shower. The location was ideal for exploring Cleveland for the first time. We were able to walk to many downtown attractions and restaurants. We were most impressed by the staff- we were always greeted by smiles! The bartenders, the check-in staff, and the valet staff were each approachable, kind, and funny and truly made the stay a pleasure.
This is a great place to stay if you are visiting the Case Western Reserve University area. Walking distance to all. Easy trip from airport via train or taxi. Hotel is very clean. Staff is amazing and very friendly. Lots of places to walk to nearby for food, drinks, and entertainment. Have stayed there about 15 times already and will be there again many more times. Highly recommend it.
The staff were wonderful - helped identify dinner options and the complimentary van was such a welcomed break after a long drive.Yvonne, the van driver, was AMAZING. She knew so much about the area, was SO kind to guests she picked up from the hospital (who were going thru a stressful time). We were very impressed.Lovely stay while visiting CWRU.
Well designed new hotel. The neighborhood is very nice too surrounding the hotel. Its only a few blocks from transitional neighborhoods which could make some guests uncomfortable. We got to tour this area courtesy of the route our GPS mapped for us at 10pm as we were arriving in Cleveland. Nothing serious, but if youre concerned, stay on the route which keeps on the major freeways until you arrive in the University Circle area. Back to the hotel, loved the big spacious bathroom. Shower was roomy and nice (no tub, which I prefer). Staff were very friendly. Starbucks just next door to the hotel. Finally, the WIFI was excellent. So many hotels have horrible WIFI which constantly drops out. This Courtyard has very good WIFI.
Hotel is great. Great location, nice amenities. Very accommodating staff. Slow, s-l-o-w, and s--l--o--w--e--r at breakfast time. Disinterested staff, mediocre choices and not terribly tasty. If it cannot be improved greatly, would scrap the concept in favor of a few microwaves a la a Fairfield. Recommend the Starbucks next door. Or anywhere else
My husband recently had surgery at University Hospital. I stayed at this hotel during his stay. It is most conveniently located, directly across the street. The hotel was exceptionally quiet at night, which allowed for a restful nights sleep. I had to extend my stay due to my husband not being released as expected. I had no difficulties doing this through the front desk, even being able to remain in the same room. I highly recommend staying here for any family members of those needing the world class medical care offered at University Hospital.
Great place to stay. We felt safe in the surroundings. Hotel lobby is awesome if you have some work to do. Lobby is also great place to sit and relax. The main reason we picked this Hotel was the proximity to the Cleveland Clinic and the price compared to all of the other hotels.
The hotel itself is in a nice neighborhood and is a short walk to the Little Italy section of Cleveland. The hotel provides a shuttle within a 2 mile radius if you dont want to walk. Our room was tidy, clean with updated bathroom. However, the valet parking is disorganized, mismanaged and took us 20 minutes to pull up to the hotel since there were so many people checking in. Then, after waiting at my car for 10 minutes, I had to approach a valet attendant for service. Upon leaving you text them for your car...they said 10 minutes but it was really 20. They dont know how to park cars in the tiny stretch of driveway they have. I had to maneuver around 2 cars tightly parked in order to get out. I most likely would not stay at this hotel again, mainly for that reason.

2022-06-06Excellent experience. Rooms were clean. Staff was exceptional. While all were outstanding, Katoya, Victoria and Tyler stood out. A large group of us were in town for a family wedding, andthe staff was amazing in helping us coordinate all out changing needs. Ron got us to our destinations on time and we appreciated having the shuttle service available. He is a great ambassador! This is a convenient location for getting to Little Italy.

2022-06-15The service was superb and I would give more stars than 5 if I could. After an entire day of traveling, delays on all 3 legs of my trip, arriving to the hotel around 3 am, I was greeted by a wonderful man who quickly got me checked in. I only had about 2 1/2 hours to sleep and the room was clean and inviting and I zonked out in minutes. I felt comfortable on entry. Then I left to go to the Cleveland Clinic with a ride over there by the happiest, nicest man. I WILL definitely stay there again!

2022-06-13Conveniently situated around the corner from the hospital, with a shuttle bus service at your beck-and-call, which will take you to the hospital and back, or to restaurants within 2 miles, except on Sundays.Very friendly and helpful staff, who are well used to recovering patients and their needs.Valet parking works seamlessly via a text message system, but is pricey at $21 per day (mid-2022).Shame the pool is gone to enlarge the gym! π’Breakfast is a small on-site Starbucks cafe and not free, but theres a real Starbucks next door and several fast food and restaurant businesses within easy walking distance for lunch and dinner.Beautiful area with parks and museums.

2022-04-15The location of this hotel was perfect for our needs, which was an initial visit for my child to Case Western Reserve University right across the street where we had to start. The people at the front desk were very friendly and very helpful (one of my room key cards did not work, and they made a new one. That one didnt work so they made another one and sent a maintenance person up with me to ensure the lock was working properly). The only thing I didnt particularly like was the fact that our dinner was prepares by the bar person with a little space oven and not in the kitchen. The food was just ok.The room we had, except for the initial problem with the key card, was very clean and fit our needs wonderfully.

2022-07-10Charge for parking but they do have a shuttle service that took us to little Italy of Cleveland. Shutters driver was wonderful. Needed some ibuprofen so he took us to drugstore on the way back to the hotel. Good location for us. Hotel undergoing remodeling . Desk person was helpful

2022-06-30For such a last minute stay, this is by far the best hotel I have stayed at here in Cleveland. From the awesome valet guy, to the 2 front desk agents that were 2 of the most friendliest, and hospitable hotel employees i have come across in a long time!! Thank you Courtyard of Cleveland for this amazing stay! I will definitely be back!

2022-06-18My mother booked a room at this location as she is a living kidney donor at Cleveland Clinic. We received such excellent, helpful, friendly service from Tyler (sp?) to cancel/reschedule when we realized wed booked the incorrect location and made sure we understood details about the shuttle service to the Clinic.

2022-05-30I was pleasantly surprised to learn about the free 2mi shuttle from the hotel. It was super convenient for me to get to Cedar Fairmount without having to spend money on Uber/Lyft. The room was clean and I appreciate the large shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. It would have been nice if they also added body lotion. Overall, great stay and will come back again.

2022-05-01Stayed here for 4 days. Day one they put me in a room next to construction and the noise was completely unexceptionable moved after trying to deal with it for a day. Then went to a new room where the toilet was broken and the water coming out of the sink was brown. They donβt offer lotion or shower caps and I paid over $600.00. If I where you I would say anywhere else this was not a pleasant trip.
