Went to dealer in response too kbb cash offer online. The lady was very unkowledgeable and did not honor the KBB Offer. It was over $3k lower because my f150 needed new tires. But said having brand new rims and multiple other upgrade professionally installed did not increase the value any. Huh? Doesnt make much since. Offered $4550 and must wait 10 days for check. Drove straight to CarMax received $9700 and walked out with check 45 minutes later.
I scheduled an appt for an airbag recall. It was a 3 week wait. One day before appt dealer cancelled appt because no airbag in stock. Called dealer 2 weeks later to inquire on airbags and appt was rescheduled a week away for Friday 3/11 at 8:15am. I dropped truck off Thursday night. I also noted that I had a check engine light. I called late afternoon on Friday and Bruce mentioned that Darren was handling my auto and would get back with me. Saturday mid-afternoon I called back since I had not received any phone call from anyone on my truck. Bruce mentioned that Darren was not in on Saturday and would check status and would get back with me. I called at 4:30 and was forwarded to the Service department. I left a message with Bruce mentioning that I had heard nothing for 2 days regarding my truck. We drove to dealership before 6pm and it appeared the entire Dealership was closed. Closed on Sunday. Monday Mid-morning I received a call from Darren who simply mentioned they had to move some things around and proceeded to tell me what they found. I told him I didnt want any knuckleheads touching my truck. I told him to get the truck ready and that I would pick it up that evening. Upon arrival I was told that there was a $88 diagnostic fee. Darren did not mention this and I refused to pay it. The Sales Manager waived the fee and handed me the keys after I had to explain my situation. I understand that things happen but not communicating with the customer is inexcusable. I would have gladly paid this fee had someone communicated with me.I took my truck to my regular repair place the next day. They called me within 2 hours with issues with truck. I cost me $1500 to repair and I was glad to pay it to people that are honest, responsible and understand what good customer service means. Oh by the way, there was no diagnostic fee either.
I was disappointed to find out that scheduling an appointment puts you on a list to have the car serviced. We had a 9 am appointment, but they could not get the car looked at. We picked up the car at 5:30 pm without finding out where the oil was leaking or getting it fixed.
Mike was excellent from starting point all the way to ending point, he was straight forward with us and we left there with what we wanted.. We went from Michigan and it was a 3 hour drive and he reached out to us to see how far we were so he can have the truck ready, and he sure did! Truck was clean & full tank!!! He made everything so fast for us, which was good because we had 3 kids with us. Highly recommend!
I just purchased a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT with Rocky Ridge aftermarket lift, wheels, and nerf bars with all the bells and whistles on January 28th, 2019. I personally worked with Chad Chesrown as my sales consultant. Chad and I began our discussion through phone conversations after I inquired about the truck. We worked both through text and calls. Chad was very responsive and quick to get back with me for all my questions. He gave me his personal cell number and even communicated with me outside of the business hours. This was my third experience buying a new vehicle. I can easily say that Chad was the most informative and personable sales reps I have worked with. As everyone who has purchased a vehicle is aware, the process can be tiring and stressful. Chad did a great job of not pressuring me and working to make the best deal he could. I worked with chad for a little over a week until we found a way to make the deal happen. I drove four hours (round trip) twice to the dealership. The first day I visited we did not settle on a deal. Chad knew what my wife and I were looking for and did not try to pressure me onto another vehicle. He honored a listed price even though I did not qualify for a particular rebate GM was offering. After leaving the dealership the first day, Chad continued to work with me through phone calls and texts to try and get the deal done. After a little give and take on both ends we settled on a deal and I re-visited the dealership and we left in a new truck. Overall, Chad made the car buying experience enjoyable. After the deal was complete I think both the dealership and myself were satisfied. I would recommend anyone looking to purchase a new vehicle to give Chad and Coughlin GMC in Newark a shot. Thanks again, Chad.
I have experienced check engine light for a the last months. It would come and go off and sometimes stay on for a few for a few days. They change the converter but the light came back on and stayed on and they change the thermostat and now after 5 days has not re apppeared
Only problem was that hub caps and lug nut covers were not tightened after tire rotation resulting in losing a hub cap. I contacted service and they said they would replace the hub cap without an issue. I appreciate that. They acknowledged their mistake and are making it right. Thank you
On CarGurus, I put a 250 mile search for the vehicle I was looking for at the mileage, price and feature parameters I that I would consider. On Monday, three vehicles popped up that were a fit. One was at Coughlin which was a 3.5 hour drive away from home. Not being able to go to the dealership and speak to someone in person, I put in an online lead and waited. Chad Chesrown responded and communicated via phone, email and text in a professional and timely manner. I shared what it would take to close the deal and Chad got back to me, meeting all of my requests. When I drove to the dealership, Chad was on point, and ensured that everything we agreed upon was followed through with. He looked at my trade while I drove their car solo to give me an opportunity to check the vehicle out. When financing came around, they asked where I wanted to be and Eddie (finance manager) found THAT rate. Everyone was pleasant and upfront and professional. Ive purchased four cars in as many years (long story) and have never had a better car buying experience. Chad is personable, has family history in the business, prides himself in being upfront and willing to work the deal for the company and the customer so that both win. Three and a half hours is a long way to drive but when my wife needs her new car, Im pretty tempted to see what they have in stock first. Easy, professional and exactly what was promised.
The service department at Coughlin Newark GM is excellent. All of the folks who work there from the Service manager to the person who checks in the cars initially are friendly and competent. We have worked with Brad often and he is exceptional. He explains everything thoroughly when we bring in our cars in for service. We keep our cars for a long time and know that good service and maintenance is important for having dependable cars no matter what the vehicle age. Everyone there should receive praise but a special shout out to Brad. Deb Hamilton
After searching for weeks for a newer car and not getting anywhere with other dealerships, on 03/15/2021, two people reached out to me regarding a Subaru that I was interested in. The first gentleman that I asked for was not available when I arrived at that dealership. But I was helped by another sales staff who was extremely helpful. I ended up test driving two cars. Buying a vehicle from Coughlin was one of the best experiences Ive ever had. Great customer service. Very honest and knowledgeable. Thank you for your help. Keep up the excellent work.
I always go here to get my oil changed and anything else that needs done to my car. I have always had a positive experience here. This is where I bought my car at 3 years ago, and when I bought my car, they made the process as easy as possible. My next car purchase will be from here again.
We were quoted an outrageous amount to have ourChevy Equinox repaired. The timing chain broke and“possibly” might need a new engine. They quoted us about $1000 just to look at the pistonsand rods to see if they could be rebuilt or if it wouldrequire a complete engine removal and replacement.I can open up the valve cover myself! $1000?And then we were quoted $3-9000 if the engine neededreplaced. If the average cost of an engine was $2-3000then Coughlin is charging $6000 for labor?I’m retired Navy and a 100% disabled Veteran and Iworked on jet engines for 20 years, I’ll bet if I had anA frame and the proper tools that I could do this with afew buddies in a few days! But unfortunately I don’t butstill, $3-9000?? That’s borderline criminal. How does Coughlin keep their lights on?
Two females walked into a car dealership....and found service, responsiveness and the process easy and done in forty-five minutes with not one question asking where my husband was, which is typically how my car dealership experiences goes. Was looking for a used car with my college-aged daughter, Chad was helpful and resourceful, direct and thorough. Jeremy, the finance director, same. I dont like the traditional car dealership dance -- give me a good price, a good car and the sense youll stand behind your product and your service, because in the end success is directly related to your reputation. My recent experience says they get that.
Hello, just purchased my trailblazer on Sat Nov 6th. I love it!! Branden and Tyler were excellent and very helpful!! They even took the tags off of my old car for me which was no easy task the way they were put on by the last dealership. I have already told several friends where I got my Trailblazer and posted a pic of me, Branden, the dealership, and Traiblazer on MeWe. Thank you for the great service Branden and Tyler!! Lets Go Branden!!Sincerely, Linda Dowler :)
Probably one of the best car buying experiences I have had. Katie was great. Once my application went in 15 min. Later I was approved at the rate I wanted to be at. Went to another dealer a couple days before and was kept there all day and they could not get my monthly payment anywhere near where I needed it for a very similar vehicle. And also offered me more for my trade than the previous dealer. Highly recommend.
The people at Coughlin Chevrolet were great they gave 125% to make sure i got the car i wanted and best of all they never met me but treated me like i was standing in the dealership. Chad a sales consultant went about 150% to get the car and Jeremy went another 150% i cant wait to meet them i live in Pittsburgh Pa. My name is John Cooley
I had a previous appointment to have a part installed but had to cxl due to schedule conflict.I was in the area the other day and just stopped in to see if my part, which had been shipped in previously, could be installed. I did not have an appointment, however the service writer was very accomodating and said she could see if she could find a tech to install the part. After a 20 minute wait, my part was installed and i was on my way. Thanks for the great service!
I have been looking for a new to me vehicle for several months. I had a not so great experience at another dealership where they were unable to get me a deal on the vehicle I was looking at and instead tried to push me to another vehicle I didnt want. I was leery of trying again but I saw a vehicle on the Coughlin website that I wanted to inquire about. Chad responded to me in a timely matter and we corresponded via text until I could get there for a test dive a couple of days later. When we got there the vehicle was up front waiting for us. My husband was able to look at the mechanical stuff without anyone bothering him. The vehicle was clean and looked new. I had not planned on trading in my car but they made it worth it. I am very happy with my purchase. Thank you!
Went in to get a key cut for a 08 Pontiac G6 because the original broke off paid $100 for that ask them about how to program it they say it has to be brought in and cost $150 add all that up on top of the tow bill bill I find out from a dealership in zanesville it takes 30 minutes to program it myself and requires absolutely no tools, computer or anything I’ll be taking my business to zanesville from now on
My experience while buying my equinox was by far the BEST Ive ever had. Katie our sales rep. and Jeremy the financial person were the most pleasant individuals and super helpful. They went over the top to help and answer any questions we had. They were very kind hearted and down to earth. I would recommend these two if you are wanting the best experience while shopping for vehicle.
Pulled in for a 9:45am appt for an oil change and rear bearing replacement and was asked if I was going to wait for the service. I acknowledged that I had rented a car as they had no courtesy vehicles available and was expecting the car to be done the next day. Dealer called within the hour to sell me tires and an alignment, which I did. I called back the next day at ~3pm because I figured I needed that time to pick up the car and return the rental. No dice. No call from dealer on the third day. On the fourth day I again called the dealer about 3pm and was told it was not yet ready. The dealer finally called at 5:36 on a Friday evening (they close at 6) and told me it was ready. I had no time to make it to the dealer for pickup so I had to wait until the next day to pick it up. So, oil change, tires, alignment and a 1.5 hour bearing fix cost me five days of rental fees instead of two along with no communication with the dealer unless I instigated it. I get the feeling my car would not have been done unless I called to remind them they had it.
Recently purchased a 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer from Chad, so far the car has been great. As a salesman he was polite and you could tell he cared about his customer. He worked all day with me trying to make sure things were just right. He is definitely not a shark just looking to make a sale. True genuine salesman.
I wasnt very pleased with my visit. The service I scheduled was ok as far as I can tell. But awhile back I had purchased mud flaps and they werent installed properly. When I asked for this to be remedied the technician did a hack job with whatever parts were handy. If that is how a simple task is handled it leaves me wondering about their other services
Thanks to the body shop employees at Coughlin Cars of Newark, I am proud to resume driving my 2010 Corolla with the new parts... It operates fine and I appreciate the fast efficient work, including the wash and vacuum enhancements... I hope Ron Matheny is recuperating after his hospitalization; his estimate was right on the mark!
Got a great deal! Couldnt be any happier. I had an idea of what I wanted but wasnt certain. Sales Associate Tom Willard provided several options and found a great, brand new vehicle for me. It was actually at a different dealership but he had it brought over and hooked me up with the best deal!I couldnt be happier!
Terrible experience!! We have bought 5 cars from Coughlin and always recommended Coughlin to others. We went to Coughlin 21st Street last night to look at a car my husband found online. After the test drive we noticed that the air conditioning did not work, the trunk would not open, the paint and rims were faded and discolored. We asked if they would come down on price a little, and we would buy the car with cash. They REFUSED to come down on price and refused to fix anything, so we left. We went to Coughlin in Heath to look at cars, told the manager about 21st Street and he said he would get the car and sell it to us for what we asked since things did not work. They went to get the car from 21st Street and they would not release it. They remembered us from the night before, and they would not release the car. What a disappointment!! Sorry Coughlin....you have lost our business for good!
READ!!! Chad Chesrown and the team at Coughlin GMC Newark were beyond amazing. Chad was very prompt and consistent with me. He was upfront and honest with every step and detail. The vehicle they got me in was New To Me and felt and drove like a brand new vehicle. He accommodated my requests that I wanted before I left the lot with the truck. The finance team was able to get me into a payment and APR i was comfortable with considering my situation and they asked me what I wanted, they didnt tell me, they asked. I would recommend you go see Chad if you are in the market for a new/used vehicle. You wont regret it!!
I came here looking for a used car, and while the dealership in Newark doesn’t have the largest selection of used cars, Chad helped me get a great deal on a Toyota Camry. Great place for fair prices and they make sure you get a quality car for your price range. Paperwork was completed fast and efficiently. Would certainly recommend.
Chad was great! My car was totaled by an irresponsible driver towing a boat who lost his trailer wheel and it hit my car . I needed another car fast and really liked the Ford Fusion for sale. He went out of his way to help me get my car . I cant thank him enough. There was some miscommunication on the financing end and the car fob isnt working properly, which needs to be addressed, but overall I am very grateful.
We searched high and low to find a specific GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 that had all the options I was looking for. With the current shortage of inventory we had to go outside our local area. We live in Alabama. We found Coughlin GMC and they had the exact truck, color and options along with a few extras. We ended up getting a SCA performance Black Widow Edition. Our salesman’s and the finance manager handled everything over the phone and email. They had the truck ready and waiting on us so we could get in and out as fast as possible. I am loving this new truck.
After a tiring search for the perfect vehicle....Coughlin Chevy popped up. Yes... perfect car, great price in the budget , but yes almost 4 hours away! Needing something right away, on Sunday night I sent a text to dealer. Less than 5 minutes later he responded and told me he would try to give me info on a deal first thing on Monday. Monday at 8:45 I had a text saying car was still there and price. So this great salesman, Chad, was sending me info even before they opened at 9! Great dealership, and finance guy. So 4 hours and lots of excitement later Chad hooked us up in new ride and even took the time to show us how to use all the new technology. I highly recommend Chad, he loves his job and listens to people! Thank you Coughlin and Chad!
Wow, what a great experience! Not only was it quick and easy, it was a fun! Chad was able to find me the perfect car in a short amount of time. He never pressured me and made it a great buying experience! I would refer Chad to anyone and will return to him when Im ready to purchase again. Everyone there are so friendly from sales to finance.
I had a great experience purchasing my vehicle from Coughlin Newark. I was able to utilize the online tool and was able to obtain the needed information to make my decision. By the time I visited the dealership, I was able to minimize my time at the dealership and was out the door with a new vehicle in a timely manner. I would like to give Katie Stigers a lot of credit for providing me with an excellent customer experience. I loved her willingness to listen to me on the phone and provided the information I need. Thank you Katie...My recommendation is for Coughlin to continue to improve the online experience. When a Customer is seeking information, please offer it with a positive intent. Thank you for empowering your employees to do rightwith your customers.
We had a great experience with Chad! He was helpful and attentive, which made for an awesome car-buying experience. He was able to give a more than fair offer for my trade-in and was willing to work with us on a fantastic deal. I would highly recommend Chad if you are ever in need!!
I moved into this area going on two years now. I had a dealership in NW Ohio that I trusted and purchased two vehicles from.I have to admit that I was a little nervous when I switched over. But, I can say with full confidence that I am extremely happy with the service and respect I receive at Coughlin.I highly recommend them!
My husband talked to Chad on the phone about the SUV we were interested, we set up a time to come in and test drive. Chad was very nice, funny, and easy to work with. He made the buying process very easy for us. We didn’t feel pressured to buy anything and wanted to make sure we were happy with the SUV. We will definitely be going back to Coughlin to work with Chad again.
This was the best new car buying experience Ive ever had, and Im so happy with the new car.We were in and out in almost no time, Katie helped us find the car that was exactly what we were looking for. The entire experience was just great. Thanks Coughlin GM of Newark, a job well done!
I just want to say that Coughlin GM of Newark is AWESOME!! BRUCE in service answered my many questions that I had about getting my vehicle serviced, etc. There was a nice gentleman and lady behind the service desks that was so friendly and helpful. And then of course Scott Dennis who performed the services on my vehicle has so much experience and is so knowledgeable.. hes always my pick because I know hell do a fantastic job.
I found a good deal on a Kia Rio for my son on the Coughlin Newark website on Friday. I submitted an inquiry and received an email from Chad Chesrown. I drove 2 hours on Sunday fully expecting to battle high pressure sales tactics. I was really surprised to find no pressure. Easiest, fastest sale I have ever completed. I would definitely recommend Chad Chesrown to others looking for an easy, no pressure transaction. I would’ve liked to have used my own hometown credit union for financing, but if you want the rebates listed on the website, you have to use their financing. Dealership policy probably, so I’m not holding that against the salesperson. I will just refinance back home later for a better rate. My son likes the car & I didn’t have to spend a fortune. The goal was a small new car with enough warranty to get him through college. Mission accomplished, thanks Chad!
If you are looking at a car here ask for Chad Chesrown. Chad helped me with buying my new car and he was amazing. He was extremely helpful and not pushy at all. I drove over a 1.5 hours to buy my car here because Chad and the rest of the staff where so helpful and I got such a great deal (what they quoted me on the phone was exactly what I paid). I can’t say enough good things about chad. He was honest, trustworthy and extremely polite. He explained everything and wanted to make sure that we where 100% comfortable with every step of the process. The only potentialie negative thing I have to say about my entire experience is that when it came to the financing guy he was giving us the hard sell for the extended warranty. But he ended up giving us a pretty good deal on a extended warranty and I left feeling fairly comfortable with my decision. So even the “negative” parts where pretty positive.
I wanted to get a quote, about a possible trade-in.Send them an email with all the details about my car, the sales rep asked for my phone number - I have zero intentions to talk with sales rep, why its so hard to get a quote by email? We are millennials, its about time for dealers to understand we dont need to talk with anybody in order to buy anything, yes, even a car.
We were in quite a hurry to purchase a vehicle and found what we wanted on line with Coughlin. We are sensitive to smoke so we asked our salesman if the one owner car smelled of smoke. He said he checked and he didnt think so. He didnt sound very confident so I called Megan, his superior that had been talking with me through the negotiations. I asked her to check it for me. She said she would go check and call me back. She called me back and said no, it did not smell of smoke at all. When we arrived in Newark to pick up the vehicle there was a strong smell of flowers. I was thinking, great, this has been detailed and smells great. During the pick up I asked to speak with Megan and the salesman said she does NOT work at the Newark location, but in Columbus. So how could she have checked the car????? Two days later, after setting out in the sunshine, the floral smell they sprayed to mask the smell is now gone and the car reeks of smoke!! Had we known this we wouldnt have purchased the car.Coughlin - 1 Customer - 0
Bought a used Buick from Coughlin. Worked with Chad C, really good experience overall. Saw the car online, texted the number after hours, and quickly got a time set up the next morning to look at the car. Was out front ready for me to test drive when I pulled in.The paperwork/sell/trade-in went smoothly. All told very hassle free!Would recommend Chad C. for your car needs—Chevy, Buick, GMC or otherwise
I had trouble with my car warranty Concord Auto being dishonest and my service technician Brad and his boss went the extra mile speaking with them. It didnt do much good, but that isnt Coughlins fault... But I think it is important to note they went the extra mile and did everything they could for me. I would definitely recommend using them because they put customers first!
Don’t bring your car here if you have a choice. RIP OFF. They will price gouge you simply because they can. I had my car towed here after my alternator failed and they charged me more in service than the parts were worth!! Ended up paying over $1000 for a $435 worth of parts. Take your car somewhere else and do your wallet a favor.
My fiance and I were looking to replace her aging car. She had her eye on a certain vehicle at the Coughlin Newark location. We stopped in one evening to look at the vehicle. Lenny came over to see if we had any questions even though it was later in the evening, close to closing time. We looked at a few vehicles, then went to dinner. Lenny offered to text a few vehicles and prices to us to offer a few different options. We returned the next morning, test drove the car my fiance had her eye on, and decided that we would like to buy it. The buying process was easier than we could have imagined, and we left that day with the car we wanted. In the process of buying her car, I talked to Lenny about wanting a truck later down the road. Needless to say, after such a great experience, we returned the next week and purchased a truck from Lenny and the crew. All I can say, after shopping at different car dealerships, this will be where we buy our cars from now on. Each staff member we saw greeted us. There wasnt that feeling of being pushed into a sale. The atmosphere was all around friendly. Thank you Lenny and the whole staff, you guys made this a wonderful experience and we will be back!
I took my truck to your branch in Pataskala to get repaired, there was a check engine light on. it was found that a brake sensor and glow plug was bad. I had it repaired. the bill was $370. A week or so later the check engine light came on again. Since Pataskala didnt have a diesel mechanic I took it to your Newark branch. they found another glow plug bad, I approved the repair. When I got the bill for Newark repair it was $388. I ask why so high ? I was told that there is different prices for each glow plug depending on its location. But the first repair was a sensor and a glow plug. That just didnt make since to me. Im a diesel mechanic myself for Caterpillar and have never heard of that. One shop charged $370.51 and the other charged $388.49. Also there was a $25.00 shop supply charge in Newark and in Pataskala it was $8.00. Pataslala did more than Newark did and charged less. So even though Pataskala dont have a diesel mechanic I guess I will continue to go back until I can find some else cheaper.
Satisfied. Steve instantly jumped to my request on the cruze and gave me his cell to call and met me at the dealership within thirty minutes. I didnt know how long paperwork was going to take this being the first time i have bought a car.All-in-all the entire staff I spoke to was fantastic and tried to get me out of there quickly, were very nice and very patient on my decision process.Thank you, Steve & Orlando!
I have had ALL of my maintenance done @ Newark GMC/Toyota since I moved here 30 years ago. Service has always been cordial to my needs. - I had spoken with Andy Jones for nearly 18 months about getting a new vehicle. When I was ready to replace my 2010 Terrain with a 2019 Terrain, he was excellent; keeping me posted when it would arrive, etc. All of the employees were gentlemen; courteous and friendly, no matter how many questions I had. Been returning to you folks for a reason...
Nice selection of cars and trucks and everyone is very friendly. There were awesome cars in the showroom. Jacob Steele suggested a number of options I could do to get the vehicle I wanted and also went over the Carfax report with me. They let me take the vehicle off premises to my auto repair shop for inspection since it was a used vehicle. Got a good report and the test drive was great so I bought it. I will check with them again when I am ready for my next car or truck. (photo of my purchase attached)
Everything that the dealership did was great!! Tried to have GM fog lights put on my truck. Instructions were not very good for my model of truck. Lights didnt work. Came back the next week and Matt the service technician who did the work was great, went above and beyond to fix the problem.
I am a Coughlin customer for life thanks to Katie Stigers. I’ve never had someone work so hard or care so much about getting me into the car I wanted. She was so thorough and knowledgeable. She made me feel like my business was really important to her and even though I was little upside down in my current car, she was going to do everything she could to get me the car I really wanted and with the features I really wanted. I swore up and down my whole life I’d never buy a brand new car but with Katie’s help I saw the benefits of a brand new car AND felt good about the purchase. Amazing experience all around and when I’m ready to upgrade again, I will be back to see her!
I came in on Tuesday to look at a 2005 jeep liberty but I ended up getting a 2014 Jeep Patriot and I couldnt be happier. My sales person was Chris and he made every so easy and painless. The buying process was really quick too! I would recommend this dealership anyone! I love my new car!
We called to inquire about a used car that was on the website. We discussed the price and the availability. The salesmen asked when would be a good time to come and look at the car for us. We explained we are driving from Westerville and it would be approximately 45 minute drive. We settled on a time (same day as the call). The salesman directed us to ask for the sales manager upon arrival. We made the 45 minute (one-way) drive to Newark and was informed it had been sold the day before. This is disrespectful, rude and shady to get us onto the property. We just drove 1.5 hours of our time for nothing. Apparently our time is not valued and its about getting the person on the lot, instead of being honest. They will not be getting business from us with our first experience being disrespected as a potential customer.
Its been a tumultuous few weeks of car hunting, but Lenny saved the day! He was honest, insightful, and thorough. He was able to explain the nuances I wasnt aware of, and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Ive had some previous bad experiences with dealers just trying to take my money and run, but I had none of that with Lenny. If I could give more stars, I would!
I HIGHLY recommend Chad Chesrown at Coughlin Chevy in Newark!! I saw a vehicle online Sunday and sent an email. Chad responded within an hour and we arranged for me to see it Monday. Long story short I LOVED IT!! Told my husband, he went Tuesday morning signed his part, I went after work signed mine, took about 15 minutes and we were done!!! Best car buying experience ever. Chad was FANTASTIC
This place is a joke. After giving my info and dinging my credit I never heard back about the vehicle I was interested in and they sold the vehicle to someone else in the meantime. You also dont want to deal with Katie Stigers. She does not return calls but instead will text you that she is so busy and never actually give you any information. I would not recommend this place to anyone ever!!! I will never look at this place again.
Chad was great. The automobile we wanted was at the Chillicothe store but he facilitated arrangements to get it to Newark the day we wanted to see it (in the pouring rain no less). He displayed flexibility with our needs and we worked out a deal we were happy with Him and some staff stayed after hours to help us take that car home that night! Overall a real nice experience.
Chad Chesrown was an amazing salesman. He made my purchase very easy and made sure I was happy with my vehicle. I only have one key fob, but he is trying to get another one. Thank you again ChadEdit: I forgot to add that Chad gave us an all weather mat for the trunk 😊
We just purchased our daughters first car from Coughlin GM of Newark. We showed up with a few ideas of what she was wanting and the selection of vehicles they have covered everything and then some. Our salesman Chad Chesrown listened to all of her likes and dislikes and suggested a few vehicles for her to look at and test drive. Chad hit it out of the park with the Chevy Sonic he showed her with all the bells and whistles. Within the first mile of her test drive she was in love and ready to take it home. Chad went through all of the features of the car with her and made sure that’s exactly what she wanted before she made her decision. The experience we had at Coughlin GM of Newark from start to finish was the best I’ve had at a dealership. Chad Chesrown was absolutely awesome in getting us the right car for our daughter. He gave me his personal cell number to call him with any concerns and even reached out to me while he was on vacation to see how she was liking her new car. If you are looking for a new vehicle I highly recommend Coughlin GM of Newark and looking up Chad Chesrown to find your perfect match. Thank you Chad, you definitely have my future business.
I was suppose to get regular inspection, but I dont feel I did because; washer fluid was low, one of my tires did not have proper air, When I picked up vehicle, there was no discussion of any of the findings from the inspection. I was told there was to be a brake check and alignment check. Neither was discussed. When I checked out they didnt even have correct amount for the lof. It was to be $9.99. It was corrected but not even a sorry for the mix up. She said they didnt put it in correct. I am a retired Service Manager and this was a very good example of what not to do to have return customers. I hesitate to not go to dealership because of these examples. I guess I expected more from dealership I have bought 2 vehicles from.
I was looking to buy an AWD/4WD in a prompt manner. I worked with Chad, who could not have been more pleasant, honest, and helpful through the process. This was easily the best buying experience I have ever had. There were also some intricacies regarding the trade-in that they handled assuredly and could not have been more helpful with. I’ll be looking to Chad and Coughlin for all my future purchase needs.
Chad was wonderful to work with! From start to finish one of the easiest car buying experiences I’ve ever had! Chad gets the job done, and does not pressure you into buying something you don’t want or can’t afford he stands by the numbers your looking for! Highly recommend!
I have bought 5 cars from Coughlin over the last 9 years and I have been treated great every time. Service both during and after the sale is always top notch!Jared Thomas was my salesperson on every one of them and I have sent multiple friends and family to him as well.
Five stars to Eddie and Chad for making another vehicle buying experience a great one. We have bought several cars from the Coughlin Family of dealerships and we will continue to do so as long as Eddie and Chad are a part of their team! Thanks guys and keep up the great work!
Was looking to buy a new truck and they helped deliver an . Very pleased with their customer service will definitely go back when in need of a vehicle. Chad in sales gave me a number over the phone which sometimes Isnt accurate but when I got there everything stayed the same and he beat the number you gave me on the phone, He totally followed through with what he said
I worked with Chad Chesrown and he was able to find me a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country LX. My price range was about $4K and he was very honest with me and made sure I was satisfied before and after my purchase. I will definitely work with him whenever I need an automobile in the future. The service department is also very thorough and honest.
I had head light issues when I stopped by Coughlin on 21st and Mt. Vernon Rd. Dan in the service area was great. They were busy and he squeezed me and and they found the problem quickly and I was on my way within an hour of arriving. I really appreciated that he saw how concerned I was and made sure I was taken care of that day.
Unfortunately we had a very bad experience at this dealership. My husband spoke with one of the sales people this week to purchase a vehicle at the price indicated on the website. He spoke with the person on the phone and verified the price at lunch. He explained that we had a large down payment and were driving from 2.5 hours away. We arrived the same day to purchase the vehicle and a different sales person helped us. Immediately upon speaking with the second person the professionalism of the dealership felt questionable. When we checked in on the price, it was over $3,000 more than discussed at lunch. This 2nd salesperson was not knowledgeable and unable to explain the price difference to us. When we tried to verify why the price was $3k higher than we were told at lunch with the new salesperson, they squirmed around and had no explanation and kept trying to avoid the question and talk about the weather, the temperature or the computer. It seems the price difference had to do with the fact that we were not financing the whole amount and were not located in their zip code. We explained ALL of this before driving there to the original salesperson who actually then told my husband that the price on the website was a few hundred LESS than what was listed. We drove round trip 5 hours(in the rain), took time off work and spent time speaking with this sales person and dealership to retrieve this vehicle. Unfortunately, it seems they post prices on their website which are not accurate and have some “fine print” (which we ultimately never even found after the fact) to get people in the door. We were unable to make a downpayment on the vehicles as they requested that it all be financed. This is very perplexing as we had over $15k cash we were ready to hand this business. I understand part of this is at GMs request but as we learned from another dealership it is not true that you must finance the full amount. The salesperson we spoke to in person was unable to clearly communicate this and we finally pieced it together when the original salesperson called us later. (For some perspective I am in an accounting based career so it should not have been so difficult for her to explain the math to us. ) While much of this mess can be attributed to poor communication and lack of due diligence on the sales team, the fact that they are posting prices which are MUCH lower than what they actually are online(and/or requiring the full amount to be financed) is just plain shady. Especially since the price was verified earlier in the day and we explained our situation and location in great detail. While we did appreciate the original salesperson taking time on a Friday evening to call us and try to explain the situation better and attempt to make it right, we ultimately chose to purchase elsewhere (for a cheaper price, to a business who was more than happy to accept our $16k in cash) as this dealerships questionable business practices left a very poor taste in our mouth. I truly hate to leave negative reviews as I feel things can be so situational, but I feel this establishment may be taking advantage of people by posting these lower prices and forcing them to finance when they may not be aware of the huge price difference or interest charges. We will never consider contacting or purchasing from this dealership again and plan to suggest that others avoid it at all cost.
We were very picky about the car that we wanted and the price range that we could afford. We figured that we would have to go through a private seller to get it. But John Mathers went to extraordinary lengths to put us in exactly what we wanted at a price that we were comfortable with, even allowing us to take the car to our mechanic in central Columbus so that we could feel confident about its quality. He worked extra hours and made several personal phone calls to us to ensure that we had a deal that we were happy with. Weve only had our pre-owned 04 Toyota Sienna for one day, but we couldnt be happier with it or experience.
After a total loss accident involving our only vehicle, and dealing with the at-fault drivers insurance company, I was faced with the issue of finding an affordable, safe SUV for my family in 2 days. Luckily, even without an appointment, James Matheny was determined to assist me in finding the PERFECT car! After discussing my situation, concerns (safety and affordability), he took the time to help me in my search and did not try to sell me a car I couldnt afford. After James offered a suggestion on a well-cared for pre-owned traverse, I ran into a financing issue (no previous loans or credit history to show willingness to repay). After pulling every possible string, he found a way to get me financed for the difference after my down payment was made. He found me a car with my name written all over it despite only having 2 days to do it.No run-arounds...back-and-forth...and most importantly, NO suppression of safety/reliability concerns. Even after my purchase, Mr. Matheny was prompt and courteous to follow-up with me regarding my satisfaction with my car. When I mentioned that I loved the car and wanted to clean her up like I new penny, he scheduled me an appointment to have my car detailed...top to bottom, bumper to bumper, inside and out.Yall this car was pristine. Could not believe it.James Matheny went above and beyond for Coughlin on my behalf, and I seriously cant thank Coughlin and Mr. Matheny enough. If only all salesmen were as patient and understanding. If you seriously need/want a car, go talk to James Matheny. I will never purchase a vehicle from ANYONE ELSE!! THANK YOU!! BRAVISSIMO!!
My husband and I purchased a Chevrolet Trax at Coughlin GM and we are beyond excited that we made that decision!! One of the salesmen (Jim Miller) was a huge help throughout the entire process. We really appreciated his knowledge of the vehicle that we had chosen. He went to great lengths to find us a vehicle that meet our needs. We definitely will be making future automobile purchases with Coughlin automotive!!
The most pain free and pleasant car purchase I have ever done. I made an offer over the internet received a counter offer from Tyler and the next thing you know we had a deal. Tyler was great to work with, none of the typical run around stuff Ive had to endure at other dealers and for the Prius I wanted Coughlin had a much better selection than all of the dealers in Columbus (where I live) they also had the exact color and model I wanted. Due to my work schedule I couldnt complete the deal until the following week, when I got there the car was ready for me, clean with all mats installed and fueled with a full tank not just five gallons like the last car I bought. After completing the paperwork on my trade-in Tyler installed my plates onto the new car and all that was left was the financing. There were other customers ahead of me waiting to complete their financing so I had to wait my turn, and even that was enjoyable. We were kept engaged in conversation and just generally entertained by nice people that made us feel welcome. Overall I would not hesitate to buy from Coughlin again.
We had a very ROCKY beginning to our Coughlin Nissan experience but MATT DILLON stepped in and took care of making this mistake on their part a positive outcome. He worked with us and we came to a satisfactory resolution. We both compromised. They met the ad amount but instead of zero down we put 1500.00 to get the the correct 369.00 before taxes. We are ok with this. They did their best to get to their figure in the ad without a major loss. Matt went well beyond what any other person would have done. He sat with us and went over every detail of the car which helped tremendously. He was great to do business with and we intend on calling upon him once we are ready to purchase a car for our daughter. Things may have started off a little rocky but they have ended with a five star rating!!
The salesman, Chad Chesrown, was unbelievably nice and probably one of the best agents Ive ever talked to. No high pressure, no gimmicks or add-ons, just really polite and friendly, really easy to talk to about anything. Gave me a terrific deal on a car and Id definitely go there again for my next one.
Its okay if there arent any other options... Parts are way overpriced even compared to other GM dealers (I drove to Zanesville and saved a bunch of money-even o-rings were double what other dealers were charging). I suggest calling others if in need of parts. Also not impressed with the service department. Service advisor not able to determine what engine (4 or 6 cylinder... Very basic info I thought) was in her car during an oil change. They try to upsell additional items (similar to Midas and the likes), told my daughter her engine was going to blow up if she didnt do the work immediately (which wasnt the case after she called me crying and explained what the problem was--told her to get the hell out of there and I will fix it myself). Seems like a shady business for a dealership.
Horrible experience did the online purchase arrived at dealership and price increased 10 grand with no change in the vehicle details. Sales staff was very rude especially Steve. Ultimately truck was purchased because we already completed the approval and was in need of a truck. Will never deal with them again and will never recommend them to anyone. We were in the lot for well over 2 hours and no sales staff would help us. We ultimately had to go in for assistance and when we told them what vehicle we were purchasing we were treated as if we could not afford to buy a truck that cost over 70 grand. Wish we would have taken our business elsewhere. The online purchase agreement by Steve and I believe a manager stated the online sales team did not know what they were talking about and the could not locate the purchase agreement. Very, very disrespectful and unprofessional staff.
Always top notch quality work and service. Very professional and polite service anytime Ive spoken with the service techs, both in person or over the phone. Theyve always kept me apprised of found problems/progress/costs/etc. so there was never any unexpected sticker shock when walking in to pay the bill. Wonderful service. I always leave happy.
Coughlin GM of Newark and Chad Chesrown made my new truck buying experience a breeze. I could tell on the first phone conversation with Chad that he was very knowledgable and gave me all the information to ease my concerns of buying a vehicle from over 3hrs away. The deal we discussed on the phone was the deal I received upon arriving. It was truly a breath of fresh air finding a dealership and a professional salesperson that did what they said and so much more. Thank you Chad, Im enjoying my New GMC Crew CAB
No stars...worst experience ever at a dealer. Pulled into the lot past 6 sales people/office staff all setting around on golf carts, not even a wave. Got out to look at trucks for 10 minutes no help, got back in drove past them again nothing, parked in front of the showroom got out looked at more GMC Sierra crew cab 4wds, still no help. Walked in the showroom no one! Went around the corner to go to the bathroom there was a salesman in the waiting area watching American Pickers. He asked if he could help and then when we told him what we were after (GMC Sierra 4wd crew cab).he said when do you think you will be buying a truck we close in a little while. Really!! (I guess an hour isnt enough time to sell me a truck. I said with our work schedule we cant get here until evening then i told him we bought a rav4 at their Toyota dealership and those gentlemen stayed until 10-10:30pm to sell us a car. And if im about to spend 38 - 42,000 on a truck im sure you wouldnt mind sticking around. Soooo i showed him the exact truck i wanted on sale from their website...can you believe it that truck just left the lot! Sure it did...ok then get me the same model. Ill have to see what we can do. I tried to walk the lot some more to show him a couple other trucks that I was interested in. He tried to show me them on their web page. I said come on their right out here in the front row. He insisted on taking a golf cart. God forbid if he had to walk with an hour left of work just to sell a $40,000 truck. So much for customer service. WONT BE BACK.
I purchased a new high country Duramax this week from Coughlin Chevrolet in Newark, Ohio. As I walked in the front door of the dealership, I was greeted by the General manager Gary. After explaining what I was there for, Gary introduced me to Chad Chesrown(my sales associate). Chad got me in the exact truck I was looking for and took time to answer all of my questions and showed me how to use all of the trucks options. That day, I traded in my truck for a new truck. (they gave me top dollar for my trade in) Not only did I purchase my dream truck this week but also gained a new friend. If you are in the market for a new or used vehicle, I highly recommend reaching out to Chad Chesrown at Coughlin automotive in Newark Ohio. They took me in and treated my like family.
Took my 2011 avalanche in for code P0301 misfire in cylinder 1. Was told I needed a new engine ($8000)because it was burning oil and fouled the spark plug. That was my best option because it would cost $2500 to investigate why it was burning oil. I asked them if replacing the spark plug and topping off the oil would get me by, they said maybe but the engine could go at any time. They also told me the low oil light came on while they drove it. It wasnt on for me. They called and said they replaced the spark plug and it was ready ($165). When I picked it up, the check engine light was still on, I went back in and they said it would go out on its own after it ran without a misfire. I drove less than a half mile to BP and got No oil pressure shutdown. I checked the oil and it was 1.5 quarts low.(wasnt topped off like I asked) after putting oil in, I still had no pressure, so I returned to the service department. It was friday and they wouldnt be able to look at it until Monday. I never heard anything and had to call, but they didnt check it. Tuesday I called and was told the oil pump was shot and I need a new engine. My best option because it was $1200 + parts to replace the oil pump. I asked if they checked the pressure with another method. No. Did you check the sending unit? Yes, electronically it is functional so it must be the oil pump. Did you check the basket filter under the sending unit? No. I told them I would send someone to get it and paid my bill($145) I had it towed to another dealer which cost me $110. They found a bad sending unit and the basket filter was plugged. The oil was also really dirty and they did an oil change ($500). Vehicle runs fine. I really dont know what was checked but I was being told to put a new engine in it. Two weeks I went without a vehicle and spent an extra $400+ for a fix that should have been done in a day. This is the kind of service that give mechanics a bad name. The only reason I gave a 1 for the recommendation is they didnt charge me for rental that I used for a few days. This is completely unacceptable and a poor way to do business.
My husband and I had a great experience with John Mathers and Orlando Alston. They made sure we were getting what we want and the price was what we were comfortable with. John made sure we got everything we needed for the car and went beyond that informing us about on-star for free for 3 months. Orlando was great making sure we got the price we wanted and great interest rate! Thanks!
I had the unfortunate situation of my engine dying on the way to Coughlin for an oil change. I had gone about 2,000 miles beyond the due date due to parents tag-teaming being hospitalized. My engine was blown and I had to have a new one put in. I was told it would take up to 3-weeks. I purchased a 2009 Silverado in the meantime and my car was finished within a week! Everything is going well with both vehicles. Let me emphasize to get your oil changed on time as the sensor goes off of the weight of the oil and the costs to have it repaired could purchase a lifetime of oil changes!!! Great work by the Service team!
I have done a lot of searching for vehicles online and had fairly decent idea of what i needed, after setting an appointment to meet at coughlin to actually look at and test drive cars Chad Chesrown was very engaging and straight forward not pushy at all on making a deciscion and was able to really narrow down what I was wanting with the inventory they had. After 3 weeks i can happily say theres no buyers remorse or displeasment in the services i was given while at coughlin GM by both the sales and the management.
After waiting 4 weeks for an auto body repair - with no updated beside when we called - we received the vehicle and it was not completely fixed! The steering stabilized was not even attached on one side and the incorrect hardware was attached to the other side. Displeased with the incomplete job!!
Im really upset with what the coughlin car lots have become. I can only speak for Pataskala and Newark... it is definitely not the same as it was when I purchased vehicles there. I had sales reps that made you feel human. The one thing Pataskala said they could do I asked if it could be done at Newark and was told no. They didnt even have the nerve to call me, I had to e-mail them to get an answer. Bring back sales people that are passionate about their job. Is that why Matt Hamm left or Glen Foster? Thats how far I go back with the coughlin family and its sad to say that I will no longer be referring anyone to their place of business. Smh.
Less than 34,000 miles -- airconditioner stopped working. Went in to Coughlin, and they diagnosed the issue and ordered the part. Went in on Thursday, they put in the part. Somewhere in those two visits I was supposed to get my car washed which didnt happen, and more importantly, have the 27 point inspection. On Friday, the very next day, the car stopped running. Called Buick Roadside via Onstar. Turned out the battery had a dead cell. Here is what I learned: 1) Parts were covered under warranty. 2)The 27 point inspection is a disappointment as apparently checking the battery doesnt happen. 3) In the age of cell phones, Buick Roadside Assistance is unnecessary, as I can call a tow truck and then be responsible for the fee just as well as having somebody else do it for me. Really not impressed if this is the service I am to expect from the dealer ship.
Damaged my vaccume pump to my air intake when I bought the car and refused to fix it because oil changes and general maintenance make it not their fault. How does any of that deal with my air intake? It looks like it was shoved in there. Way to own up to your mistakes. Dont go there. Youll get ripped off for damaged vehicles. Pictures available too if anyone wants.
I was happy with your service. I brought my Van in first time and they couldnt find anything wrong. I tow it back when engine stall twice. I thought it was transmission but it was a computer module. They also found coolant leak with inspection. My van has 230,000 miles on it. On my 3rd transmission but it keeps going thanks to your service .department
I went in with the expectation of the old bate and switch trick but what I got was far better than that. I drove away in an awesome new Chevy Truck (Tuscany Recon edition) for the same monthly payment I was making on my current high mileage vehicle. No brainer right! You guys were great. Thanks and Ill see you in about 4 years or so to do it all over again.
Recently purchased a used 2011 GMC 3500hd truck from Coughlin Newark and the salesman did a great job to find me a truck that fit my budget and needs. After getting the truck home I found an issue with it and they told me to bring it back and they would take care of it. They did exactly that and at no charge to me! I’ll be back to Coughlin to purchase my next vehicle.
When I received my vehicle after a week of repairs, an emissions control alert on the dashboard was lit up. After driving the car several times, I returned 24 hours later when the light was still on. The associate blew me off as a Panicky Pete despite having owned 3 Elantras and never having a light come on for no reason. He gave a quick walkaround and then added the BS fuel cap excuse. He referred me to the Hyundai dealer 15 miles away. He did not offer to consult the Hyundai service dept and find out if there was a check they could perform on site.
This was the most pleasant and stress free purchase I have ever made. I had been searching for my new truck for months. I finally found it on Coughlins website. Kyle Fancher was absolutely amazing! He went above and beyond to work out all the details, got my payments where I wanted, and sent me on my way in my new truck quick and nearly effortless for me. This is how a car buying experience should be. I would highly recommend Kyle at Coughlin to anyone!! Thank you for a great experience!
I need a key made for a Chevy which takes about 10 minutes, The lady at Koglin said they weren’t gonna be able to do it on my day off I’d have to come in tomorrow so I drove to lash 30 minutes out of my way in Johnstown have them come to key right now and drive back 30 minutes for customer service I’d much rather go to lash Johnstown!!!!
I shopped all over town for weeks before i called Couhglin, best deal around! They went above and beyond for us. We were going on vacation the next day and I hadnt been able to get the truck i wanted plus i had a trade in. With one phone call we had the details worked out and 4 hours later they had my new truck and all of the paperwork completed when i got there. they had to send someone from Newark to Circleville to get the truck i wanted, all before we came in to sign the paperwork in that short amount of time. Thank you Jacob and the Coughlin Newark team!
I talked to Glenn foster in regards to finding me a used manual car for cheap, he did everything on his end and in just less than 24 hours i owned my 2011 chevy cruze. Glenn was even nice enough to order me a spare key at no cost to me, and a free complimentary oil change when needed. I also too the car for an overnight test drive and i found an issue with a coolant smell, Glenn made it right by letting me bring it in to service and find the problem and fix it free of charge. They paid much more than i inticipated they would pay for my high mileage cavalier, and working with Glenn was truly an honor. I was in and out of there with no more time at the dealership then 2 hours tops within the 24 hours. I will buy from these guys again and again. Everybody has there stuff together at this dealership and walking in there i felt as if i was walking into a second home. I highly recommend coughlin to anybody. Thanks Glenn!
The absolute best buying experience. Contacted Mike Demchak via the Coughlin website, told him what I was interested in and the deal desired and three hours later it was a done deal! Picked up my brand new Chevy Suburban the next morning. Well worth the 45 min drive from Lewis Center!!!!
After searching for the right price and car we found my Brand new Chevey cruise. Our sales men was the best. Lenny ( I think thats his name) it was his first day back in the Newark area, but you can tell he knew his stuff. Even gave us advise on our other truck. Thanks Lenny.
I have had my used car for 4 weeks now and it wont start. It was sold with no warranty at all and Im sure that is because they knew that this car, 2009 chevy equinox, has a problem with its computer and they didnt want to have to fix it. I didnt like my sales rep very much either.
Our experience with Steve McCabe and Brent Harbold was one of the best weve had at a car dealership. We let Brent know beforehand our situation and what we would like to happen. Brent worked with us and was able to achieve what we had hoped for. We left very happy! We couldnt have asked for a more pleasant and smooth transaction. We were never pushed or haggled and that is one thing that made this whole sale worth it. We made the decisions. We highly recommend both of these gentlemen. You wont get the shadiness or arrogance here!
Couglin Newark is great! I bought my first car from here and Rick did not pressure me into anything. I’ve had multiple issues since then with head lights going out and a battery cable being rotten but every time couglin has been so helpful and gives me the best price and always explains to me what’s wrong with my dodge
I brought my Diesel truck to Coughlin after Byers Chevrolet said they could not get the parts to fix my truck until April 29th and your dealership had my truck fixed in 2 days Thanks alot. When Byers Chevrolet in Grove City Ohio already had my truck for 2 weeks they then informed me in March 27 that it would be 5 to 6 weeks before they could fix it and Coughlin GMC of Newark Ohio found the part that Byers said was impossible to get, and had my Truck done 2 days later
Horrible people to deal with , trying to get 2018 Silverado in 22 min on hold for service. when I bought the truck I was lied to about the financing. now I can not talk to anyone about my issue. I will never, buy from these people again , bold face liars. now on hold 45 minutes trying to talk to someone in service. Im not a ford person but I guarantee there will be a ford or dodge from a different dealership in my driveway next time.........
UPDATE!!UPDATE!!UPDATE!!UPDATE!!UPDATE!!THE PERSON WHO RESPONDED AS OF THE OWNER SAID THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE MANAGEMENT CALL ME SHORTLY WELL GUESS WHAT IM NOT SURPRISED THREE DAYS LATER NO PHONE CALL NO NOTHING. AND TO THINK WE BOUGHT THIS TRUCK END OF NOVEMBER AT COUGHLIN GM. APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS OF HAVING THIS VEHICLE. I UNDERSTAND THINGS GO ON WITH USED VEHICLES WAY WE HAVE BEEN TREATED ON THIS MATTER AFTER BUYING A VEHICLE FROM THEM JUST REALLY SUCKSWorst customer service Ive ever had. 13 days to do a fuel pump and it sat in the same spot on their lot for 5 days blocked in by a roto rooter truck. Only reason I knew it hadnt been moved. Repeatedly told they will call back to only have to call back myself. They wanted $1000 and I questioned that as to how I can get an AC Delco pump for $300. The guy talked to his manager and they got it down to $631.21. then after having my vehicle several more days the said everything was done and bought at cost and they were making no money off to deal well it ended up being $713.86. so full of lies and the customer service ladies who answer the phones are rude. Will never use them or recommend them.
After buying 2 cars cash from Coughlin when we decided to try to build our credit with a car loan of course we went to Coughlin. On Tuesday we went in to talk with Mike Demchak about what we could get done with no credit score and past credit issues. We knew it would be rough to get financed. We told him we wanted to stay in the payment range of $200-$250. He said we would probably be looking at 15% interest rate. We still wanted to see what we could do. We also mentioned that we may have a co-signor if need be. Of course while we were in there when the computers were down and all deals had to be handled the old-fashioned fax way. He stated that he would call us and let us know but it would probably Wednesday afternoon before he could get us the answer. On Thursday I left a voice mail with no return call and Friday I call again and I had to remind him who I was and he had to call me back with an answer. The answer is what I expected, 2 banks turned it down and another accepted with a 20+% interest rate in a payment range of $350. With that being the expected answer we already have our co-signor and large downpayment worked out to make it more afforable on our end. When I mentioned that I was upset that it took 3 days to get an awnser and that I had left a message yesterday I was told that he tells everyone to call his cell number (which he neglected to tell us) because he is not always at his desk. I find this an unacceptable answer for not returning voice mails left on the business own system. We will be taking our business elsewhere next Friday!
I am the absolute biggest pain in the butt customer ever, and I wont take my car anywhere else to be serviced. The customer service is outstanding here and they are always willing to help meet my needs or try to find a compromise. Very family friendly and always ready to help address your issues.
It really couldnt have been an easier way to purchase an automobile. Glen Foster, Sales for internet sales, was a most professional and efficient sales associate in walking us through the process. We live 225 miles from the dealership in Newark and it was as if they were dealing with us locally - even delivered the Camry to our door! The car, as represented on the internet, was even more then what was presented! I would recommend Coughlin Automotive Group and Glenn to everyone looking for a fair and honest deal on the purchase of a new or used automobile.
Asked about a vehicle listed for sale on the website, told the details and it was available. Told the dealer we would be in to look at it in the morning. Traveled over an hour the next day to look at it. Told only then that it was sold the night before. Then tried to sell a way more terrible and not comparable vehicle instead. People weren’t born yesterday. This is why car dealers and salespeople have such a bad reputation. Beware! Guy’s name was Lenny.
They gave me a price on oil change when i got the service done they tried to get e higher price for oil change, also went in on 1-11-2021 to make the appointment for 1-13-2021 at 2 pm got there and they said there was no app for this day, they also had my app for a 2011 cadillac cts and it was to be a 2008 cadillac dts and took 1&1/2 hours for my service,i left and my low tire sensor was on and had to go back to service department and they took it in and when they came back with my car the low air sensore light was out very poor service
Having an accident outside your home state is usually a stressful situation, butGeorgette at Coughlins did such an outstanding job. She constantly kept meupdated with what was happening and was so nice, understanding and professional. She really seemed to care and did an outstanding job of handling everything withmy car. I cant recommend them enough. If I lived in the columbus area I woulddefinately drive to Newark to have them fix any collison repairs. I highly recommend them for their professionalism and outstanding service!
Had our vehicle looked at here and we were told that they really do not know what is wrong with the vehicle, however we can try this to see if it works. They wanted to charge 600 just to see if it works. Umm No thank you. Not to mention we were charged 210 just for them to even take a look at the vehicle! Now were out 210 and our vehicle is still not fixed. This place will RIP YOU OFF! All of my family members have had issues with them.

2022-08-11Chad and Jeremy were wonderful to work with! Chad was patient, professional, transparent, knowledgeable and treated me with fairness and respect! He also kept me informed of vehicle deliveries and was able to get me in the exact vehicle I was hoping for! I will certainly be calling on Chad for my next vehicle purchase. Jeremy was also amazing. He made the financial process easy and expeditious. I will certainly be sharing my experience at Coughlin GM with family and friends!

2022-04-20I really enjoyed working with Mike. Once he found out what I was looking for, he gave me some comparable options, and kept me informed of new arrivals. He was very transparent with me about all fees involved and willing to answer my MANY questions.Jeremy worked with my finance needs and was very knowledgeable and informative about the payment process. He also took time to explain things to me in simple lay terms.I felt very comfortable with them and hope that my next car buying experience is as smooth.

2021-10-29Samantha is the woman to contact when you need to buy a car! Her costumer service skills is 5/5 star. The entire staff are friendly, and their office is calm (you can sense it once you walk in). I love the Kia that I purchased. This is the only place that offered what I wanted and needed. Will definitely come back!!!

2022-07-31Absolutely loved working with Chad! He is down to earth, hilarious and so much fun to work with. So much so that I brought my sister back out to meet with Chad just a couple weeks after buying a car from him. I have always enjoyed the car shopping experience, but this was different. Working with Chad was like working with an old friend. I’ll definitely be back and I will be bringing more people out to work with Chad. Thank you thank you thank you!

2022-02-15Matt M. and Chris W. By far made our first trip to Coughlin a great one. These men both went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Matt helped us find the best vehicle for our family within our budget and Chris worked his magic and went above and beyond as well to make sure we got the best approval he could find. I appreciate both of them. Not to mention everyone else we came into close proximity to also were very helpful. Each sales rep that came near us made sure we didn’t need anything. While we waited our turn to handle the finances every couple of mins we were checked on to make sure we knew they were there if we needed anything. Our experience was nothing but positive from all the staff. Smiles all around, friendly hellos from all the staff, and a very clean environment. I look forward to doing more business with Coughlin in the near future!

2022-05-27Dakota did a fine job - overall process was not too lengthy and staff was quite accommodating and helpful. These are trying times with supply chain shortages and financial hardships. I was happy to be able to get a car that I liked in a reasonable amount of time.

2022-06-27Chad was our salesman and was extremely helpful and communicated with us the entire time. We drove two hours to see him and he stayed in touch the entire time. Low pressure at the dealership was appreciated.

2022-05-05I purchased a used vehicle from here not too long ago, we test drove it and brought up some concerns about it. The car salesman (don’t need to mention names you know who you are) said since we were concerned they’d service it before I bought it, I thought it was a nice favor/offer, so I waited for a good running car. It lasted a week before it needed to be seen by a mechanic because it was running weird. I’m glad I didn’t take it back to coughlin because they didn’t service it right they first time and I needed a reliable vehicle for work. So they replaced two spark plugs and left the other two fried so that needed replace, there was misfire and the diaphragm needed replaced. I had my car a week and already had to pay a repair. My mom planned to get herself and grandma a car here so I’m glad I got mine first so they didn’t go through this. I do know someone who got a car from the one in heath and it’s running well, so maybe go to that one where the car sales men might think about something more than the money in their pockets.
