Always a pleaseure working with rick in the quick lane, as a former employee and having rick as a coworker, he is always easy to work woth on getting a vehicle back on the road reliably and a fantastic mechanical background at the quick lane to help all customers in any way possible
I have been in Previously and spoke with your Sales Lady Erica Craven about informing myself when she had a New 2022 Ford MAVERICK arrive, she contacted myself as they were unloading it off the Transport.I advised her that I would be down to her Dealership in about 15 minutes, when I arrived she met myself and we reviewed the 2022 MAVERICK together, I asked if we could take it for a test drive, and we did., when we returned to the Dealership, she asked if I would like to see about owning this MAVERICK, and I was very impressed with the Vehicle that I was driving the MAVERICK off your Dealership by Leasing the Vehicle, I was Impressed with Ms. Craven handling of the entire process of getting this vehicle process completed, and Yes, she has contacted me about how I like my new MAVERICK. I will definitely return for any additional Vehicle purchases with Ms.Craven.
Their service department has horrible customer service. I had an appointment scheduled for over a week. I dropped my truck off in the morning for them to work on the DEF system. It was a simple sensor replacement.I called around 5pm and they first told me it was done. Then called back and said their diesel mechanic got busy and never got to my truck. What is the point of an appointment and leaving your truck there all day without a loaner car if they wont even look at it?!?! Not to mention it really doesnt require a diesel mechanic to replace a sensor in the exhaust system and they must only have 1 diesel mechanic. Maybe the EPA would be interested in their lack of motivation fixing an NOX pollution issue on a truck with 35k miles on it.I told them to just get my truck ready to pick up so I can take it to a dealership that will work on it when I schedule an appointment. I get there and they had parked my truck in the last parking spot closest to the road in the Quick Lane parking instead of the service department parking. Im addition they parked a bus so close I couldnt get into my truck without my door hitting the bus (see picture). They said they could get someone to move it but they never sent anyone out to move it.No apology for their incompetence and lack of service or for how they parked my truck. To top it all off the last time a mechanic worked on my truck there he drove the front passenger side bumper into a lift post and left reddish orange paint on it. They never informed me of it or polished it off. I discovered it after I left.Needless to say I will not be taking my $70k truck back to them and will never purchase a vehicle from them in the future (not that I purchased this one from them either thankfully).
We went in to look over some vehicles and was able to purchase one. Tyler, the salesman that worked with us, took his time, answered our questions, and walked us through the process every step of the way. Larry, in financing, took care of us and worked out a great deal for the vehicle we picked out. Easily, the most pain free experience Ive had at a car dealership in a long time. Keep up the great work!!
I received a monopoly game piece attached to an advertisement for a special event they were having. The game piece I received made it look like I won $5,000. NO PURCHASE REQUIRED!! There was even a phone # to call to verify if in fact you had a winning game piece. I called and she verified that I did. The event happened to end on that day and they closed within 2 hours of my call. The advertisement also said you were guaranteed $3,500 for a trade-in push, pull or drag. So... I decided to go check it out 🤦I bought my present car from them. However, I hated the way they handle their customers and sales. They get you to tell them the monthly payment you can handle and then finagle the length of the terms with the bank. You NEVER REALLY know the price of the car, especially the used cars til its TOO late. I wound up paying a ridiculous price for the car I bought from them.Again with the how much can you afford every month BEFORE I even looked at ANY cars!!! Then, what they SAID was the ONLY thing 🙄 they had available was DOUBLE 😱 what Im paying currently (which is the amount I needed to stay with or under) The $3,500 trade in however, would have more than paid off what I owe on my car.Obviously I declined. Then it was time to see what I won. Apparently the fact that my game piece SAID I won $5,000 ment absolutely NOTHING. What I actually received was a pair of wireless ear buds. 🙄Ill NEVER go there again!!! Complete waste of time! Not to mention that they tagged my credit report for some reason!! I did NOT give them permission to do that as I did NOT even look at one vehicle!! Not that big of a deal, its just the point!!!I had my previous vehicle for 13 years and it was a GREAT small SUV (Toyota RAV 4). So, my experience shopping for vehicles has been limited for quite some time and I was VERY unhappy with the price I wound up paying for my present vehicle at this dealership. Perhaps most dealerships handle their car sales this way 🤷 However, the next car I look for better have a price of it posted ON the car somewhere or else Im moving on!!!!
Had to stop in unexpectedly because an engine cover under the car had let loose and was hanging down. The guys at Mathews sent me to the Quick Lane service center for the repair. The people there were very polite and were very quick to get the repair done. They didnt even charge us since we get all of our service work done at Mathews. We were in and out in about 10 minutes. Unbelievable! Thank you Mathews Ford!
The mailers are shames. You didnt win anything. You will get cheap headphones. The agent helping me was from out of state. 10 other sales personnel were out of state to help. This dealership usually sales 60 cars in a month. Weve sold 75 this week. They are raking in cash DURING A PANDEMIC where everyone is hurting for cash. When the agent realized I wasnt going to be a buyer he didnt even want to shake my hand. Didnt even want to speak to me anymore. Its scummy but its a car dealership so.
This past month my parents have worked with Justin Coleman for the help of finding me my first car that i will be sharing with another family member. He has been such a great help and he was very opened and honest with us on his opinions with everything. His generosity and friendly appearance made it very easy to talk and work with him. 100% recommend him for everyone!
Worked with Justin Coleman on 1/16/21. Will 10000% go back and ask for him when I decide to upgrade or purchase another vehicle. Got us into the exact vehicle we wanted, And was able to lower our monthly payments, lower interest rate, and get a 2 year warranty included. Also stayed engaged the entire time I was there without making it feel like it was just a sale or transaction to him. Was the best experience I’ve ever had while purchasing a new vehicle.
Came in and bought a second car from here today. (We bought one here about three years ago too.) Our salesman was Justin Coleman, and he is great. Hes the one you want to talk to. I was just blown away with how smooth everything went. We were in and out in a little amount of time. Wife loves the Escape she got. Happy wife. Happy life....😉
Bad experience. My 2018 Ford F150 had check engine light on and they did did not even even tell me after going in for regular service. After driving to TSC store I noticed the check engine light was still on. I called Mathews Quick Lane and them about it. The service advisor said the could check it but there was $160 fee to do that. I told him that my truck was still under bumper to bumper warranty. It it sad that they wanted to chadge me $160 dollars for something under warranty. Later that afternoon I stopped a local auto parts store and they perform a free check on my truck and told me why the check engine light. Next time I need service on my truck I will go to Zanesville Ford dealer for service.
We are so happy with our experience at Mathews ford. Erica was real and helped us out so much. She listened to what we needed and met our expectations quickly. I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in buying a car from her! Im so excited about my new car and the details they were able to work through.
Very friendly staff. Very knowledgeable salesman. Very hospitable and generous. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back again and again. Best experience at a dealership in my life!Kyle Kirkbride was my salesman and I highly recommend this guy. He wasnt just trying to sell me a car to get his kickback on it. He showed tons of support, courtesy, respect and honesty. We love our new car and couldnt be happier.
Super friendly staff and reasonable priced vehicles. They went above and beyond and I love my car. I was looking at a trade in someone had brought in and they were honest with issues needed fixed trying to talk me out of it because it had those issues but I still wanted it and they were fair with the price taking the issues needing fixed into consideration although I would had taken it for original selling price. I would recommend them not only for friendliness and honesty but they dont only have high priced vehicles needing financed or to save up forever, they offer lower priced vehicles and I was literally amazed at the quality of vehicle I got for the price. Leather 3rd row seats, DVD player, awesome stereo system I cant say how much I love it enough. Sun roof and heated seats. Even the gas pedal was adjustable and I got it for just under $2000 and issues were minor and easily fixable.
I want to express my concern that this “hometown business” would use a misleading lottery promotion to sell cars. These are hard economic times right now and it is disappointing if a local business is seeking to capitalize on people’s desperation especially when the demand for cars is so high. Apparently the flier was sent to 10s of 1000s of people in Newark area, many are angry and are planning to call the Better Business Bureau.Beware if you receive this flier- don’t waste your time. We are looking for a dealer in the area who is ethical.
Me and my Fiance recieved some mail from this Dealership that was themed in monopoly game style where you pull three tabs to see if you can get three matching houses. The fours prizes are all listed next to three houses with different colors. We happened to get three oranges which corresponded with the $5000 cash prize. We were so happy and called the number to enter in our confirmation number where the person on call confirmed we were winners and could pick our prize up tomorrow. We came in the next day to get our prize and we are given a pair of bluetooth headphones. When we were understandably confused and asked why we couldnt claim our $5000 prize we were told matching the houses didnt matter and only the confirmation code does.
When in Saturday see about purchasing a truck thats what you call the most embarrassing moments I ever had salesman to come on inside so it did it says you got your drivers license I says youre not going to believe this but this is embarrassing you said whats up I dont even have one piece of ID on me Wait a minute Im cutting an expired work authorization card or Ive got my Canadian drivers license which expired in 2002 Im going back today The guys going to think oh God I got a crazy Canadian gear not gear here plus this machine doesnt know Canadian English I came back on Sunday to look around its nice looking vehicles I will be back today after work great dealership and the salesman that I was with Thanks again . Everybody be safe
Bait N Switch!!!!I received their monopoly flyer. Of course when opened it appeared I won $5k. I figured a catch or something so I called. I specifically asked the female that answered the phone what was the catch and per the flyer I had won 5k. She asked for confirmation number on said flyer which I gave her. She informed me there is no catch I was indeed a winner to come into the show room before 5 on Saturday. I asked again about any catches and if I really won this. Was told yes I was a winner. I was in Westerville at the time and had errands in Columbus but I left went to Heath only to discover I was lied to on the phone.!!! I was sat with a young kid who wouldnt give me a straight answer until I point blank said I am not buying a car. He then walked me to poster that listed confirmation codes for the cash winners, which of course after giving my number previously being told I was a winner..yep I was informed a winner of a pair of ear buds that they were out of. When I walked out, there were 2 other people upset that were told the exact same thing as I was when they called. Its sad a dealership results to thisto get possible buyers int their dealership.
I recently wrecked my truck which was originally purchased at Mathews Ford. The insurance company decided it was a total loss, so we started our search for a new vehicle with the payout. My search lead me back to Mathews Ford! The vehicle we saw online and decided to go look at there ended up not being what we wanted, but Tom Willard, the sales associate we were working with asked us what we were looking for and what our price range was. So we told him we would really like to buy 2 used vehicles, ones good on gas mileage preferably! He said let me see what I can find for you! He said since you are repeat customers, we might be able to figure something out and get you a deal...and did he ever! He pulled 3 vehicles as possibilities, one we immediately said no to because my husband said I wouldnt end up liking it. But the other 2 we took a look at and they ended up being pretty darn good vehicles especially for the low price we paid! We ended up buying them and Tom was so nice. He had a great sense of humor, kept us in the loop through the whole process and was even really good with our kids! He made it happen for us and we really appreciated that. I would definitely go buy from Mathews Ford again and especially if I got to work with Tom Willard again. Great guy and a great experience!
Great experience with Justin Gibson last Friday! I test drove a 2015 F150 on Tuesday, loved everything about it except it had a mild cigar/ pipe smoke smell inside. My wife is VERY sensitive to any type of smoke odor so getting rid of that smell was the only way we were going to move forward. This truck has a cloth interior so I wasnt very optimistic. They had the truck treated twice on Wednesday and when I came in Friday to check it out I was amazed! The smell was completely gone! Truck was freshly washed and had a 1/2 tank of gas. Very pleased with how they handled the whole transaction! Thanks again Justin!
They’ll rip you off and sell you an unsafe vehicle. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here. Once they have your money, you’re on your own and fingers crossed the car you bought doesn’t break down or catch fire a week later. These people are dirty dealers. Buyer beware at this location.
Fantastic dealership! We purchased a Ford Escape in Dec 2017. Annnnnnd, we purchased another Ford Escape today. My husband and I 💙 Mathews Ford Newark. We will be back soon to buy another car for my son. Ask for Justin Coleman. He is an nice, honest, and very personable salesman. Totally a 5 star dealership. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Today we bought our second vehicle from Mathews. This time our salesman was Tom Willard and he was fantastic. He made the car buying process easy. He kept us informed from beginning to end. Smoothest car buying process Ive ever experienced. If you are looking for something new I highly recommend Tom! Thanks Tom for making it happen for us at Mathews Ford!
Other than, not providing my fiancee, a rear wiper blade for her 2014 Kia Soul. They sold her a decent used car, at a great price/payment plan... unlike her own relative, at Coughlin, with her 2013 Chevrolet Cruze... For $500 more, with higher monthly payments, but, so far, they have made costly repairs at an above average cost, with somewhat, mediocre satisfaction. My fathers mechanic, former dealer mechanic. Charges the same labor charges, but, finds better prices on OEM parts, and treats his customers with decency and respect. Not like another purse or wallet to dip out of... The future will tell, how decent and costly Matthews Service Dept. treats/mistreats my fiancee. Shout out to Joe ODonnell Mechanic Shop on Brushy Fork Rd.
Have bought one vehicle from them, almost bought a second. First vehicle, they didnt even fill the coolant. Almost overheated before I even got it home. Second vehicle they tried to sell me while I was looking for a second vehicle for the family, a late 90s explorer. Mirror was sitting in the passenger seat, salesperson just shrugged it off. Pulled away for the test drive, and there was a heavy grind in the rear axle, and the salesperson tried to explain it away as rust on the front rotors.
Take your vehicle somewhere else!!!If youve recently been in an accident, I would strongly suggest you take your vehicle to another dealership. The BODY SHOP at Mathews Ford (Rt 79 Heath, OH) is the absolute worst. Not only did they rush through the repair process, they caused over $2500 worth of additional damage that had to be rectified by another facility. Thankfully, my insurance company paid for those repairs.ISSUES: As a result of the accident, the driver side window had shattered. Despite claims that theyd performed glass clean-up, there were large pieces of glass left on the floorboards, under/on the seats, and in the door panel. The body shop tried to cover up the fact they neglected to clean up the glass by putting my floor mats down. This is seriously unprofessional and uncalled for, especially since I cut myself twice on the pieces of broken glass! Their reason for not cleaning up the glass - were not a detail shop. Wow.The driver mirror was also installed incorrectly, as were the water shield and rubber molding around the door frame. Not only was the quality of their work subpar, at best, the shop got grease all over my back seat, likely from placing filthy tools and parts on it. My insurance company paid to have the interior detailed, but even steam cleaning couldnt remove the grease stains which meant the entire seat cover needed to be replaced - $1500. My car is a 2013, but most people cannot even tell its an older model since Ive taken such excellent care of it. A car is a huge investment. To pick it up in this condition, I was livid! After voicing my concerns, the shop slapped a coat of polish on the dash, and wiped off the exterior to make it look all shiny and get me on my way.The STAFF: Jason Weiser, the Collision Center estimator, is very disrespectful and rude. Same for the desk help (Brittany). These individuals have zero respect for other peoples property. Stay away from this dealership if you value your automobile - because theyll ruin it and youll be left to pick up the pieces. Literally. I cant express this enough - TAKE YOUR CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Recently had an accident and was shocked that my car was totaled and we had to buy a car. Went to Matthews Ford to start our search- and left a few hours with a new car! Justin Coleman was just wonderful from start to finish! No pressure, just very helpful! We got a great pre-leased vehicle that was affordable and just what we needed.
I will never do business here again.A year ago, I had a noise in my truck and took it in to Matthews. They said it was fine. A few days later, my water pump went out.I got it to a local shop and they fixed it after I broke down and got a tow.The Ford warranty wouldnt honor their work so I had to pay for it.Recently, I brought my truck in for another noise. It was not diagnosed properly so I had to bring it back in. They did fix it but tried to charge me an additional diagnostic fee which I was offended by as I was without my vehicle for multiple additional days. While this was happening, I went ahead and had my breaks replaced. a week later from getting my truck back, the back tire fell off while I was driving with my wife and daughter. Fortunately I was only going 15MPH when this happened and the tire did not strike another vehicle. The service manager was adamant that the studs were faulty and that someone else was at fault. When I went to the dealership I was able to show him that 2 of the studs that were in tact did not have the lug nuts so clearly at least 2 of these came off.At no time during this process did I feel that this organization gave any concern to the potential harm that could have happened to me and my family. The entire time they tried in every way to mitigate their own costs. I am completely appalled at how this was handled and will never do business here again.I was repeatedly told they are the expert and they did nothing wrong. In 10 seconds of my own investigating at their shop I could prove otherwise.I am taking my truck to another shop to get an independent evaluation. Matthews better hope they do not discover any additional damage that was not reported.I have never written a negative review online before but feel I have to. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB.
This place was AMAZING on Customer Service. Tom Willard was incredibly helpful, and took care of us beyond expectation. He was very informative, knowledgeable, and reassuring. Im a very happy customer and will highly recommend Matthews Ford to friends, family and clients!
Needed to have an unexpected repair on my car. Dealt with Rusty from beginning to end. Couldnt have asked for a better experience. He found a couple of recalls against the VIN I was unaware of, and everything was completed much quicker than I expected. Awesome job by Rusty getting me in and out so quickly, and to the technician who worked on my car!! AWESOME SERVICE!!
The service Department with Mr. RUSTY is great, the Parts Department is great. Mr. Rick, Mr. Steve, and Mr. Chris in sales is really good as well. I have bought 2 vehicles and have had all my vehicles serviced here. It is a Big town business ran with a small town attitude!!!
I have been dealing with Mathews Ford for years. From purchasing several vehicles (Justin Gibson) to servicing 5 if our vehicles with the service department. On every single occasion I was treated with the upmost respect and professionalism. I would and will recommend Mathews Ford for vehicle sales and service. Ron Johnston
I was in need of a low cost, well maintained and conditioned vehicle for company use. Justin Coleman really understood my exact needs and worked hard and diligent to recommend vehicles suited to my needs. Not to mention hes a great guy as well, I would definitely recommend him if you are shopping around! The rest of the staff at Mathews Ford was easy to work with and provided a fast and smooth transaction. I was in and out in under an hour after my test drive and decision to purchase!
Each one of these 5 stars go directly to the best salesperson I’ve ever known, Ericka Craven. She truly goes above and beyond for her customers and I am simply astounded by how amazing, kind and patient she has been with us. Ericka takes great pride in the work that she does and she tries her hardest to ensure your happiness and satisfaction. It is very clear that Ericka loves what she does and this job suits her very well. When you meet Ericka, you immediately feel at ease. She listens to what it is that you want and she delivers! She doesn’t push things on you, she does not make you feel pressured to buy.The interaction with Ericka is not like your typical car salesman. When you talk to Ericka, you feel as if you are talking to a lifelong friend. If it weren’t for Ericka, I can’t imagine what our car buying experience would have been like. We had went to different dealerships and were heckled by every salesman who spotted us. When we met Ericka, the whole atmosphere changed. Like I said, it felt as if I was talking to a friend I had known my whole life. She makes you feel comfortable as if you were right at home. All in all, my husband and I both had a great experience with Ericka and I will be returning to her for any future car buying. The customer service she provides is exemplary and it would do this world some good if we all aimed to be like her and took such passion in the things we do.This woman is AMAZING at what she does and I am SO GRATEFUL for everything she has done for us.Thank you Ericka Craven, you are truly the best
Called about a recall on my Ford Edge with a leaking fuel tank. Service person who answered the phone swore up and down hes never seen a gas tank leak on that recall and that wasnt the problem with my car. Said he WOULD charge me $125 dollars to explain what was wrong with my car after he did the repairs covered by the recall. Took my vehicle to a different Ford dealership and what was causing my fuel leak was in fact caused by what was stated in the recall. This is the closest Ford dealership location to my residence and I will be looking into a new vehicle by March due to a new addition to our family but I will definitely not visit this location due to the fact that their service department is only interested in charging money to cover a safety recall instead of taking care of the recall
I had the pleasure of working with Justin this past weekend. I went in looking at an Edge, but was pleasantly surprised with a Lincoln. He handled my abrupt change with style and grace, patiently answering my questions with sincerity and honesty. Ive bought many cars in my life and have never before left with not only a car, but a friendship as well. The entire process was pain and stress free. At no point did anyone apply pressure to try to get a sale. Give Justin and the rest of the fine folks a chance to earn your business and you will not be disappointed.
Went in on a last minute inquiry on a test drive and purchase. While details with my bank made things complicated and more of a hassle than necessary, Justin Coleman made everything go as smooth as possible and was very helpful. Ended up forgoing my banks lending for dealership financing with the help of Justin. I cannot attest to anyone elses work quality, but I can say from experience that if you go here and work with Justin Coleman you will be taken care of. Thanks again Justin for doing what you could to make things work out for me.
Was initially excited to purchase a 1st vehicle for our eldest daughter but that excitement was quickly squashed by a lack of communication by the sales staff. We viewed a vehicle using the Autotrader app and called the dealership to inquire further. The salesman verbalized over the phone (made a deal so to speak) that he would be able to meet our price point. Based on that information, I drove out to the dealership immediately after that phone call (about a 30 minute drive) and merely stopped for some fast food for dinner. Upon arrival, the vehicle I called about, the vehicle that I was informed by the salesman prior to my arrival would work with my already approved credit was being test driven by someone else. The salesman failed to communicate to his coworkers that this particular vehicle was already discussed not 30 minutes prior. It is not like I called several days ago, dilly dallied, failed to show etc. Very poor professionalism and sales etiquette.
Bought a 2014 civic si from these guys and best experience Ive ever had, they werent pushy at all and my salesman Andy was the best, he even hooked me up with a free oil change and a discount on new tires. They even helped me get a better insurance rate and gave me advice to raise my credit. Highly recommend
I had a great experience buying my new car from Mathews Ford in Heath-Newark. They went above and beyond to make the sale happen - especially my sales guy, Justin Coleman, who actually brought the car to me in my town two hours away! Could not have asked for any more! Fantastic!
I have no experience buying cars here, but the quick Lane is amazing I drive all the way from Columbus just to deal with these guys. Theyve fixed minor things on my car here and there for free with my oil change. Great customer service 👍. I really, really appreciate it. Will definitely be buying from you next time I look to buy a car
My experience with buying at Mathews Ford was without question the most pleasant Ive ever had. My sales person, Justin Coleman, was very professional, gave me all the time I needed and worked diligently to get the deal where I needed to be. Truly like working with a friend. Do your self a favor. If youre looking for a new or used car, visit Mathews, and look up Justin. Youll be very happy you did
Worst service ever! Took an hour and a half to change oil and rotate tires. This is ridiculous when you go to the quick lane, there is nothing quick about it. Purchased vehicle there and always had it serviced there, but not anymore. They charged me for a multi point inspection, but never told me that my passenger wiper blade needed replaced. Very disappointed in the service there, will be looking for another facility to have my vehicle serviced in the future. I will not be buying another vehicle from there, which is sad that I can not support my local area. Matthrews need to wake up and start offering customer service again.
I can say that salesman Tom Willard went above and beyond to help us with the purchase of our truck. We were waiting on a settlement payment that was due in that week. It took a week longer then expected but he was still able to make the sale happen and we are extremely pleased with our purchase. Thanks Tom for all your hard work it was much appreciated.
I bought a Ford Focus here. I was young and ignorant and this was my first car buying experience. I made a lot of mistakes. They gave me a very bad trade in deal on my F-150. Then they pushed me to make the decision right then and there. They sold me the Focus way overpriced. To top it off the car felt shaky and I asked if there was anything wrong with it. I was told that it had been checked out in their shop and had brand new tires and alignment and there was nothing wrong with it. Just a short while after purchasing it I had to turn around and buy new tires because the alignment had been so off and had ruined the ones on it. I went back and talked with Tammy and she said that she had never told me it had been checked out in their shop. It had just arrived on the lot that day. She pretty much called me a liar and said there was nothing she could do. I would never recommend Matthews Ford to anyone. I definitely made a lot of mistakes being young and gullible but it is ridiculous that they took advantage of me and lied to me. It was a horrible experience and they treated me very poorly.
I am a car nut, so was completely pleased to meet Andy Campbell, who Id been dealing with on the phone & via e-mail, (along with Christopher Warren), who introduced himself as a fellow car nut as well. Its nice to talk to car people who are enthusiastic about their jobs & who can speak the language to those of us with 10W-30 in our veins. Andy had taken a truck out on the road the afternoon before as he talked to me on the phone to check everything out as we spoke. I drove up from Hillsboro, OH to see the truck which, as it turned out, wasnt a good fit for me after all, & I think had maybe 2 other people lined up wanting to buy it. (This dealer has a lot of customers). I asked Andy what else he had that might fit my search criteria, & he pulled up in a very nice looking pre-owned F150 that turned out to be just what I was looking for & a better choice for me than the original truck Id been interested in. They gave me a very fair price for my trade-in & we struck a deal that fit perfectly. I love my truck & so does my wife. Not once did I ever get the faintest hint that anyone on the staff was impatient or patronizing. I felt like my business was wanted & appreciated. Everyone was friendly & good at what they did. Sadly, there are so many businesses out there that act like the customer is a bother to them, which is something I could never understand. Not so at Mathews Ford. Id drive 2 hours to do business there again without a doubt. Thanks you guys!!!
My husband dealt with Mathews for years and was very pleased. After he passed away I continued to have my car serviced there. The last two times have changed my opinion and I will not return there. It is obvious they have no concern for long-time customers, or the willingness to apologize for any mistakes theyve made.
Please do yourself a favor and avoid Matthew Ford Newark if you are buying a used or even slightly used vehicle. They are the quintessential sleezy car dealership when it comes to used vehicles. My Dad purchased a lightly used new model GMC Terrain as a gift for me. What was suppose to be a delight, has turned into a nightmare. The car burns oil at an alarming rate (6 quarts in less than 3k miles); it is likely that the whole engine needs replaced. They sold us the car with NO air bags in it, which is illegal in some states, unfortunately not Ohio. We have not caught the law up to the unscrupulous ways of car dealerships yet. And if all that wasnt bad enough, there is a malfunction with the gas tank. When pumping gas, it constantly thinks the tank is full and only lets me pump between 10 cents and at most, one dollar at a time.....before stopping it like the tank is full. It takes FOREVER to pump a full tank of gas, putting in 10, 20 cents at a time! And lastly, they sold us a car with a bad tire. I have to put air in it every week. There is NO way they could have been unaware of any of these problems....air bag...tire.....oil....gas....etc. And there was an exhaust problem for which the check engine light came on upon driving it off the lot. For the air bag light, oil light engine light, tire light etc not to show up on a test drive....they had to intentionally clear out the codes. Because they came on continually just days later. I can even clear all the problem lights out temporarily by pressing on the gas three times. They stay off for a day, two tops and come back on again just like after we bought the car!!!!! Matthew Ford will make sure the cars look nice and that the touch screen works and upon visual inspection everything looks fine, but mechanically their cars are in awful shape and they do nothing to fix them up. Thank God we purchased a warranty, but getting the warranty to pay up is like trying to get an HMO to pay for open heart surgery! What a disaster! Buy from vroom or a similar business that is internet based and lives or dies off the reviews from customers. They make sure their cars are in tip top shape before selling them. Matthew Ford is immoral and unscrupulous to sell a car, to an unsuspecting trusting elderly senior citizen and veteran in such horrible shape! Every step of the way, they have conducted themselves dishonorably!!! The 15 year old used car I was replacing had less problems than the lightly used car they sold an unsuspecting senior citizen and veteran! We will be contacting the better business bureau and Ford corporate. For a large dealer to implore sleezy buy here, pay here tactics is unacceptable. They are also representing Ford and I am very sure Ford will not be pleased with how they are representing the company. They did fix the exhaust so far, all the other issues are still pending and the warranty wont even cover all of them. Truly despicable.
If the Ford Fusion we purchased tonight gives us the same quality of service we received from our salesman Justin Coleman and the folks at Mathews we will indeed be very happy customers. Very happy to know that you dont have to leave Newark/Heath to find a good deal. The web site was easy to navigate and provided much information and played an important part in selecting this dealer.
Would highly recommend these guys especially if youre a first time buyer. I shopped for four days straight trying to find a good, dependable car with affordable payments. I walked in, and drove home the same day. Tom Willard is an excellent sales consultant and Jackson Pulliam helped make it easy and understandable in the financing. Would rate 6 stars if I could!!
Everyone was helpful from stepping in the door. Was offered water or coffee. Took a test drive after looking at different styles and colors. Salesman was very knowleable. Had a great sense of humor. Vehicles were clean and in good condition. Highly recommend Mathews Ford to future buyers.
I was looking for a used truck with certain options and a firm budget. I looked through many sites online, but Mathews site was the easiest to navigate. I found a couple vehicles to look at, at Mathews. When I was there looking around, Justin Coleman came out to the lot, no pressure, great guy, and spent time with me to discuss what I was looking for in my price range. He didnt try to talk me into anything other than what I was looking for. He was very accommodating and I am very pleased with the vehicle I purchased there. Thanks Justin Coleman!
My father bought a truck from Jack Woods. When we were finally in the market for a new truck, we went to Jack as well. Glad we did. He was extremely friendly and helpful!!! Would definitely deal with him in the future. All the ladies and gentlemen at Mathews Ford were extremely nice.
I have the cash. I live in Cali. Want to buy a truck for a friend overseas and just for days getting the run around and the sales manager has no interest in making a deal. They have zero manners or training on how to deal with customers. I want to pay the full price. Filing a BAIT AND SWITCH LAWSUIT
Had a great experience at Mathews Ford with salesman Justin Coleman! Justin was straight forward, very helpful and wonderful to work with from start to finish. Everyone at Mathews was so nice and wonderful to work with! Would definitely buy from Justin and Mathews again!
A friend of mine had *extraordinarily* limited funds to work with to buy a very used car, we stopped in to see my friend Justin Coleman. Justin took a lot of time explaining options, allowing her to test drive several models in her price range and was very patient with her circumstances. We certainly werent a salesmans dream customer; however, Justin made her feel just as important as anyone else on the lot that day. I will always remember this. Thanks, Justin for a great experience.
I will never buy another car here. I bought a Ford Escape a few years ago and whenever I have a problem, I can’t get it in for service. Now my car is completely dead and nobody knows why. Other mechanics say I have to take it back to Matthews. Matthews says it will be over a week before they can even look at it. I know there are recalls on my car, but have never been able to get them to look at it! Now I have a piece of junk that won’t start!
Purchased the 2007 Mustang from Mathews new in 2007. The car was taken there after an accident in the front end, with body and engine damage. I was assured all of their work was guaranteed by Julie before awarding the job. Having received the vehicle back some very basic items were not checked. A headlight was out, hood was misaligned, interior trim was abused, and the brakes were now spongy. My best guess is that a brake line was loosened to remove a wire harness or something when the engine was being replaced. In essence, air had entered the braking system. Having mentioned this to Jason the service manager i was met with anger that the vehicle was brought back. Though i was told the brakes were bled I could not tell anything had been done. The short of it is they did fix all of the items except the brakes. I firmly believe they never touched them. THEY FIRMLY STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK AS LONG AS YOU ARE WILL ING TO TAKE WHAT THEY GIVE YOU.............
I recently purchased two vehicles from Jack Woods. He was a pleasure to work with. I was treated like family. I appreciated Jack and the staff going above and beyond.I would recommend purchasing a vehicle new or used, from the staff of Mathews Ford, but especially would recommend stopping in and talking with Jack Woods! He is a true delight to meet and is very helpful and knowledgeable.Get to know the fine folks at Mathews Ford! My many thanks to all!!!
Put in a request to lock the price, they contacted me within just a few hours of being open (everything was done on third shift hours), they answered any questions and was even pre approved online before opening hours. I had even got a trade in quote without having to bring the car in based on pictures sent Very smooth and easy no hassles no pressure to buy like at other places. However, I was very happy to leave with my new car that day after a test drive and weeks of searching for a vehicle. They also worked with all the banks until we got a payment that I thought was acceptable and that I knew I could afford :) Thank you! It was well worth the 2 hour drive to get the vehicle and deal with such a great and helpful bunch of workers. And the price was the best even with looking in Dayton, Indy, Kentucky, Cincy and Columbus :)
I bought the car on on 6/19. Here we are 6/24 and I’m 300$ into finding out why the car just up and does. There was no warning, no lights or alarms. And now the check engine light is on. I know used cars can have problems, but I wouldn’t expect to have to get a new engine already.
If you go Mathews Ford which I highly recommend you do, you have to ask for Tom Willard! He never stopped helping me find the car I loved! He worked with me and took everything I said into consideration. Paul James also made my first car shopping experience one Ill never forget. Im so happy w my Ford Fusion that I purshased from Mathews Ford I would recommend everyone going there!
I have never had a better car buying experience! I just purchased a 2014 Ford Fusion, and I could not be any happier!Andy Campbell was wonderful. He did not try to smooth talk me at all, and he just gave me the facts. I got an amazing deal as well. I also didnt feel as if he only saw money signs either.. I strongly recommend him and this Ford dealership over the many other car dealerships around. I cannot thank him enough for getting me the cars of my dreams! And remember,You can never go wrong with a Ford.
I have recently bought 2 used cars here in the past year.. The first car was a 2013 Ford Focus with 38,000 miles.. we drove the car for 2 months then the transmission started acting up.. come to find out it already had transmission work done and was under warranty.. so when I took it to get fixed they told me nothing was wrong and sent me home.. The car kept messing up so I took it back and the finally fixed it. After a month of it not spitting and sputtering it started again. The car was not even taking off at this point . So I traded it into John Hinder Honda (excellent service by the way). I also purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport a little less than 2 month after the focus. I have had the car for 10 months now and only but 5,000 miles on it because of my third car.. my wheel bearing started making some noise so I took it to the shop. The mechanic showed me where someone beat the whee bearing and spindle so hard to stop it from making noises instead of replacing the parts. So now instead of spending 300 for a whee bearing I am now spending 700 to replace the axle , spindle, and wheel bearing . I HIGHLY suggest to not get a used car from here. If you do you will be very disappointed.
I needed to schedule my vehicle for recall work. I called to set up an appointment and was told I needed to bring my vehicle in before they would schedule an appointment. I told them I had the paperwork for the recall handy and could tell them the work needed and my VIN number. They told me I still needed to bring the vehicle in first. I had to take time off work to take the vehicle in. When I did take the vehicle in, they never looked at it, the guy never even got up out of his chair. He checked to see if the part was in their inventory and then scheduled my appointment. I do not understand why this could not have been scheduled over the phone instead of me having to take time off work to take the vehicle in, just to have them not even look at it.
Richard (internet manager) and Andy (sales consultant) could not have made my internet purchase experience any better! Excellent follow-up without feeling pressured. Accurate representation of the status of the product;....the vehicle condition rating and pictures were spot on with the actual condition of the vehicle I purchased. Fair pricing;...easy efficient process for negotiating the final sales price. Personal treatment;...Andy (my sales consultant) drove the freaking vehicle over 60 miles closer to me so that I would have less of a drive in order to pick-up the vehicle. Oh,...and it was on his day off! Who does that? Id say only people who really care about their customers. Id recommend them to anyone looking for either a new or used vehicle. Based upon my out-of-state purchase experience it was well worth the extra travel. Thanks to the entire Mathews Ford sales Team!
I was there pre shopping for a new vehicle. My husband is 68 which makes for an interesting shopping experience. Justin was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, good natured and a laugh riot! I know when we are ready to purchase our new truck we will be coming to Mathews Ford and talking to Justin. Thank you for knowing your stuff and being so great!! Keep this guy! He is going to get you a lot of sales!!
DevontaDid a magnificent and professional job in negotiating our purchase of a car. He was patient and accommodating. We had some very specific needs, and he did his best to meet them. My wife and I believe he will be a great asset to your business.Doug and Jane Kennard
We had been shopping for awhile for the vehicle that not only fit our budget but was the right vehicle for our family. We had been to several different dealerships and by far Mathews had the best customer service. Not saying this because we bought our car from them in the end, but because Aaron, our salesman was very patient with our need to test drive several vehicles. He let us know when he had something of our taste on the lot to look at. He understood our needs and strived to find something that fit in our budget range as well as making sure we were happy. We even surprised ourselves with purchasing a vehicle we hadnt originally set out looking for. If he was busy with other customers, he put us in the hands of other very capable salesmen whom also proved to be very respectible and treated us just the same even though they were helping Aaron out. Even after the sale of our vehicle he has made himself available for any questions we have had about our new ride. Thank you Mathews Ford and Aaron for making our buying experience top notch.
Mathews Ford is the only place that Ill shop for vehicles. If I know people who are In the market for a newer vehicle, Ill definitely recommend Mathews Ford. From the professionalism of the staff to the great facilities, you couldnt pick a better place to shop.My salesman, Tom Willard, was spot on in his belief that he could get me into the car of my dreams. That dude works hard for his clients, hell, I may just take him out for a beer and wings some night. But hey, none of that apple blueberry stuff he likes!
I walked in with $1000 in hand. I saw the car and we began talking figures. First one came to $1300 after taxes. I told the guy I only had $1000. He brought it down to $1150, which wouldve been great, but I only had $1000. I told him if we cant do $1000, it will be literally impossible for me to buy it. He walked back to talk to the manager. 5 mins later I was in the back filling out paperwork and handing over $1000. The customer service is great. The sales floor was clean, they were very professional. Whats even better is they monitor these ratings. If theres a bad rating, they want to make it right. I gave the complete opposite rating to Tri County. If I need another car, Mathews is one of the first few I will talk to.
I had the worst experience with Mathews Ford in Heath Ohio and the worst car Ive ever purchased came from there. I purchased a 2013 Ford Focus last September and had nothing but complications with the car performance ever since. I paid 10 grand for a car that has a bad transmission, a non working spedometer, a bad or faulty purge cylanoid , needs a tune up, door seals coming loose, loose seal in the roof, horns quit working both high and low and faulty door and trunk latches. The service center has been completely unhelpful and even though I paid an extra $1500 for a warranty none of this was part of the warranty. The car was covered in to 100 thousand miles for the transmission issues but no one offered to help and they kept pushing me off until that warranty expired. I also forgot to mention that the harnessing wires wher ate up under the car and I paid $300 out of pocket to fix that out of pocket a month later. I went into the shop at Matthew Ford today because I was unable to open my trunk and the service center refused to take a minute of their time to assist and offered to put me on next weeks schedule . Seriously this is the absolute worst company in Ohio and if I find a way to sue the company I will not hesitate
I just purchased a vehicle from Matthews Ford. It was a great experience. Searched for vehicles online and ultimatly chose 1 from their lot to test drive. Dealt with Josh Cook and Jacob Steele. Both were great. Josh took us on the test drive and was very knowledgeable and informative. Jackson in finance was great to work with too. The whole staff was friendly and helpful. I will definantly return to Matthew Ford Neward in the future!
My husband and I stopped at Mathews Ford to look for a car that was easier for him to get in and out of. Tom Willard helped us along with Larry and Paul. It was the best car buying experience we have ever had. We left with a brand new Ford Escape and had a lot of fun!!! Thank you!!
I have bought two trucks from mathews. The first deal was ok.The second I should have gone elsewhere. And considering the interest rate vs my credit score I should have gone elsewhere both times. A 740+ credit score should not be paying anywhere near 13%.I also purchased gap insurance. When someone ran a red light and totalled my truck the gap insurance which added 800 to my sales bill refuses to do anything. So when I had to get another vehicle, I did not go back to mathews. 21k truck from another dealer at 4.29%.
Yesterday we bought a 2010 ford focus for $4500. Has low miles for the year, a couple dings, but nothing too awful, (although Mathews was not open about that on the ad.) Not a bad price for a work car for my Fiance, or so we thought. We got it home and started really really looking at it, it has a few things messed up, but for $4500, eh its okay....THEN today we take the car to the zoo to see how it does. On our way home its warm, and we have two small kids so we turn on the A/C, there is none. At all. I know, thats our fault for not looking, but when the ad says A/C you kinda believe a dealership. Thankfully my SO is a mechanic and can fix the A/C for around $400. The missing mirrors/visors, the broken mirror, the effed up window tint that was done somehow between us purchasing it, and him getting the keys because we looked for that...Not a terrible experience, just bothered that theyd neglect to fill us in on the AC part. So. If you get a used car, go on a super hot day and check the A/C. Idk.
We found a nice (looking) ford festiva se on the auto trader app. The salesman, Josh told us we were pre qualified and to come on up and he would get us in that car. We test drove it and it had some shaking to it. As we were sitting waiting on approval, there was a lady at another sales desk apparently waiting on us to not get approved so she could swoop in and buy it out from under us. Josh said all we would of needed was my most recent check stub which I had forgot at home. Literally on our way home, our son found my checkstub and sent me a pic which I turned around and sent it to Josh the salesman. He told us that would of worked, dont worry Ill get you into something else we kept in contact throughout the week and told us to come back in Saturday and that we were pre approved. I called off Saturday and we Sat there another hour and a half to get denied again after having all documents he said he needed. I guess the problem was even though I had not went without employment over the past 4 years, I had just went back to my former employer, so I was lacking employment longevity. After an hour and a half of waiting wasting my Saturday being pre-qualified for the vehicle already. Here comes the salesman Josh back to his desk finally. Doo doo-doo doo do woohoo grabs his knees sits in his chair pushes back and slides backwards on the floor saying Weeeeeee! Takes a few extra seconds fumbling around then looks up at us and says Well, think we can get Mommy to Co-sign? We were furious from wasting 2 days I called off, telling us we were pre approved and qualified. Her mom was even willing to Co-sign if we needed her to, but we was told in advance We wouldnt, so we had her stay at home. Huge waste of time!!!
Took our Ford Focus in for a minor collision repair. They were quick and courteous but the work was terrible. The paint doesnt match but you can only see it when the light hits the car just right. The bumper step pad was broken but you cant tell unless youre under the car. When I picked the car up it all looked fine but as time goes by the flaws keep popping up. I had to remove the bumper and headlights to correct the panel gaps but I cant fix the paint. Now whenever I look at the car all I see are the flaws which makes me want to trade it in early.
So we just took our car from fords today they made us pay 350$ for something that yes needed done but was not the problem then had the arrogance to laugh when we said browns transmission worked on our car last... This is supposed to be a dealership aka the best to work on our FORD . needless to say we broke down yet again and got it towed. Thanks for wasting time and money 👌
I purchased a used car 1 month ago. After riding it for a week I noticed the vehicle would jump when slowing down and when speeding up.A few days later the vehicle died in a parking lot and I was unable to turn it on with a jump. Ive had the vehicle towed twice and replaced the alternator and battery. I am still having trouble with the vehicle jumping when in motion.I would highly encourage people to look elsewhere if theyre considering buying a vehicle here.
Well at first I came into Ford wanting a brand new car. But, after looking and trying to fit into my budget ended up finding A GREAT deal on a used car. This car only had 8000 miles on it and was in perfect conditon . Tom Willard is the man you want to go to! Great personality and will get you into what you like, for the price you need to be in ! Tom worked all day with me to get me into a car I liked and could afford. If you go to Ford make sure you ask for Tom !!
Quicklane is the best! There is normally a long wait even if you get there first thing when they open up but that is only because they are truly awesome at what they do. I have never had a bad experience here and the staff is professional, honest, and knowledgeable. I will continue to go to them for any vehicle need that comes my way.
My fiance and I have been endlessly searching for a vehicle recently, and found a killer deal at Mathews Ford, not without the help of our AWESOME salesman Tom Willard. Tom helped us every step of the way and was very personable. Thanks to him we will surely be making Mathews our first choice for our next vehicle. Thank you Mathews Ford, but more exclusively, Thank You Tom!
If I could give Mathews a 100 star rating I would. My husband and I went into John Hinderer the day before deciding to go to Mathews. John Hinderer took our info, ran it and then quickly ushered us out their door telling us their financial officer was out and theyd call us the next morning. We never received a call even after leaving them a message. We decided to go to Mathews to see if wed have better luck and thank goodness we did. From the second we stepped on the lot Tom Willard was more than helpful. Tom and the rest of the team at Mathews went above and beyond and my husband and I left the lot with a 2017 Ford Focus regardless of our not so stellar credit. Everyone was very informative, personable and accommodating. I will never do business with anyone else and I will most definitely recommend Mathews Ford to everyone I know. Thank you again to Tom and everyone else at Mathews!!
We recommend Mathews Ford and especially Ericka Craven to anyone looking to buy a vehicle! We have purchased 3 cars since January from Ericka and she has been patient while putting up with my husband and I (lol), listened to all our concerns and what we were looking for in a vehicle. I will send everyone I know that is looking to buy a car to Ericka and Mathews Ford!!
I came in to look at a car a few weeks ago. Although I wasn’t able to find what I was looking for in my price range, Devonta was able to point me in the right direction to help me find what I was looking for. He is the epitome of excellent customer service! He even followed up with me to make sure I was well taken care of. I will be taking my business to him from now on. Stop by Mathews and ask for Devonta today.
I just learned that Tom Willard has joined he Mathews Ford sales team from Coughlin Hyundai. What a tremendous loss this is for Coughlin as Tom has sold me and my family eleven automobiles over the past eight years.I wish Tom the very best of luck in his new sales position. Mathews Ford may not realize this now, but they have got themselves one of the very best, conscience, honest, hardworking car salesperson I have ever dealt with.If shopping at Mathews Ford people, look up Tom Willard......you wont be sorry.6/30/2017Been looking for a four-door truck for sometime now and have reached out to several people about such. Tom was the only one that stayed on the task and called me when he thought the perfect vehicle had arrived. He was right! Mathews and Tom gave me a great deal. I am very happy. Rare to find a sales person that goes the extra mile and has the persistence that he does to serve the customer. Vehicle #12 from Tom sold to me.
Justin Coleman is the man to go to!! My husband and I went in after my old beater car took a crap. We leased a brand new 2016 Escape. Justin was the sweetest and had us laughing the whole time. We walked in wanting to shop around and after meeting Justin and developing an amazing trust with him we were positive we got the best deal. He told from that day that buying a car from him means more than just getting a new car it means having someone at the dealership who will go above and beyond. He is a family man and it felt great to buy a car from so.eone honest, trustworthy, and respectful. My husband will be buying his next car from Justin for sure!
Talked to salesman, Steve Hegele, about a used truck. There were no pics on internet so he sent me a couple pics showing outside of truck. He said the vehicle was in unusually outstanding condition, and said I would want to buy it if I saw it in person. He encouraged me to drive to the dealership to see the vehicle. He succeeded in convincing me to make the 1.5 hour trip. When I arrived, I found scratches, small dents, large holes in the seats, and some kind of fluid leaking from under the truck. He wasted my time and gas. I will never again consider a vehicle from this salesman or dealership.
Buyer beware. Take car to a mechanic to check over before buying. Trust me.and i wont be calling there. we bought a vehicle that we let the service dept. know had issues. it was unsafe to drive. they put us off until out of warranty that was offered. since purchasing the vehicle we have put a motor and trans in it. i wouldnt take another car from mathews ford if they gave it to me. leave it to ford to ruin a gm product. :(
BUYER BEWARE: I purchased a used 2012 Ford Focus SEL from this dealership and it has been the worst decision in my life. The car had 27,000 miles on it at purchase. At 32,000 miles, less than a year later, the power steering failed and I had to have the entire steering column replaced at a cost over $2,000. I pushed the issue with Ford customer support as I found other reviews online of many other Focus owners had the same issue. I was told there was nothing they could do and simply had to pay for the inspection + service. Ford is now being investigated by the FEDS for knowing about the power steering issues and not issuing a recall. After that I had the car inspected by a different mechanic shop only to find out it had been in an accident prior to my purchase. He explained that it wouldnt show up on Carfax or any other VIN report as it had been fixed by the dealer and not reported. The CVT transmission also stutters when accelerating from a dead stop, another issue that has been reported on the web by many Focus owners. I got a letter last week from Ford that it has been recalled and I have a service appointment setup with a different dealer next week.I also noticed some creaking sounds coming from the front suspension. After my local mechanic investigated it was determined that the strut mounts, springs, and the entire mount assembly on both sides needed to be replaced. Another repair that cost me around $1,000.The car is now at 50,000 miles and I have put in over $4,000 in repairs, which seems insane to me.I would NOT recommend Matthews Ford and definitely do NOT recommend a Ford Focus to anyone, especially the 2012 model. They will sell you a lemon and give you the run around when you try to get it fixed.
After being hit by a semi in Newark. Mathews was right there to help. Amazing people work here. For something so terrible that happened it is really great to know there are businesses out there that still have a heart. I will take every car that needs body work here.
Steve the Bald guy with twins was very helpful and got Ken a great deal on a truck that he could afford. He was courteous and funny as well. I am sure all of the guys do as well but Steve helped Kens mom before and so we wanted to continue with him. Thank you Steve H. He called a few times since to make sure we are happy.
Screwed my daughter out of a new battery. Didnt show her the old battery being tested and claimed they had to keep the old battery to hide the evidence. I call bs.Then talked her into a credit card to pay for said battery. I fixed the problem.... Ill be paying off this credit card so the acct is closed and she will never bring her car back. No, I wont be calling a manager and no I wont remove my review.College kids (especially girls) stand no chance!Beware!
3rd time is a charm !! I had my 01 ford focus to 2 other garages before I had it towed to Mathews Newark Ford. Mathews Newark Ford were the only ones that found the problem that I was having with my car for the last 8 months or so !! They had it fixed in within 3 days !!! It was the fuel pump & they found it right away. The other 2 garages couldnt find a thing wrong with it !! It was in the first garage for around 3 weeks & they didnt see that the fuel pump was bad ??? The second garage my car sit there for a week & no one even looked at it ?? The owner was on vacation which the secretary didnt bother to let me know that when I called or I would have had it towed to Mathews instead of leaving it set for another week. I want to Thank J T & the others for fixing my car & keeping in touch with me to let me know what was going on with It !!! I would highly recommend Matthews Newark Ford before taking it to these garages that dont know what look for !!!
They Sold my mom a lemon! She has had this car for only a year paid it off in one day and The car is already About to blow up they never checked the gaskets here I will explain. The intake gaskets are bad there is 8 of them all my oil is leaking in my cold air intake system, I have a failing crank case, the windshield wipers have almost quit working they are on the verge of stopping, both my half shafts are bad, the ecu is bad, cluster has a lighting problem, headlights suck they never fixed them, my muffler had a leak on top of that it fell off its only an 03 cavalier with 65,000 miles on it even no dents nothing dont tell someone that nothing is wrong with it but in reality there is then sell them a expensive car that someone they thought they could trust. $6,500 you guys should check your crap because nobody wants a unreliable car they want on where they are told the problems not stuck with a POS car.
Saying that this place sucks and having to give them one star (b/c I cant give them zero stars) is giving them way to much credit...Bought a pre-owned Jeep Grand Cherokee here and once I drove it of the lot, the problems started. Mathews Ford dealership should be brought up on Fraud charges by the State of Ohio for how they conduct business. Bonnie and Eric there are quite the con-artist. Run away from this dealership, otherwise whether you buy used or brand new I would get a car fax on the vehicle and have it inspected by another mechanic you trust. Bottom line, worst dealership in the state of Ohio and maybe the country.
I hardly ever give 5 stars to any service, but MATHEWS FORD is one of the very few exceptions, and they deserve it.I bought a 09 Jeep Liberty from MATHEWS FORD on 500 Hebron Road Newark, Ohio 43056 November 12, 2015 and thought it to be appropriate to share my views on this dealership. One phrase comes to mind, Customer Service! The salesman was Andy “Soup” Campbell, and this guy knows the meaning of the phrase Customer Service. There was an unfortunate incident where the battery ran down, and when I phoned him around 6:30pm, without hesitation, he drove around 30 miles to my house to deliver a new battery. When that turned out not o be the actual fix, he brought me back to the dealership, handed me the keys to a loaner vehicle and picked up the Jeep the very next day as promised. The engine codes were cleared and the computer reset at Chrysler, and the Monday morning he phoned when the Jeep was ready. Not only did he (Andy) go out of his way, he delivered on every promise he made in a very timely fashion. MATHEWS FORD will be my next stop for another vehicle due to delivering on Customer Service!
I have been needing a truck to pull my RV and use as a work truck and am very pleased with Andrew Loewendicks diligence in finding me the truck and making sure it would do everything I needed. I highly recommend Andy at Mathews if you don’t have a lot of time to go into the dealership he communicates very well and always answered my questions in a very straight forward manner.
If there were zero stars I would do that! Dealt on a truck all morning... they asked me to go get my trade and come back... I did and called them when I was 10 minutes away and they said come on in! I got there and they sold the truck out from under me... WASTE OF MY TIME AND THEY DID NOT CARE... Their Oh Well attitude astounded me... they did NOT ask me to place a deposit.Worst car dealership I have ever been.
Terrible. Overall. Will never send my family nor friends to this place ever again. Screwed me over saying with a transmission problem (lots of transmission problems from lots of people telling me they never fix) they flushed my transmission and the next step was to open it up if the problem still continued after the flush which it did i brought my car back in saying they were gonna open it up and now theyre not opening it up after being told they were and saying nothing is wrong with it.
They sold a used Ford Focus to my sister they said it was in perfect condion and that the vehicle had been well maintained and inspected thoroughly.that was a lie there was a rats next under the engine by the starter and tons of other problems a month after owning the car NEVER BUY A VEHICLE THERE!
Got rid of Andy lowendick so had to give them at least one star more. Still will think twice about getting a truck here but they can have one more star for getting rid of Andy he was a mouthy person and he is annoying and harreses me even to this day. Not professional at all.

2022-02-09Tammy was awesome! We were there to look at trucks and another couple was looking at one we were interested in. So we decided to leave and check somewhere else. She came running out the door as we were driving away to let us know the other couple didnt buy the truck. We ended up leaving with it that night! Her and several others stayed late after closing to make sure we left with it that same night. Awesome experience and exceptional customer service.

2022-02-02I bought a 2020 f-150 from a dodge dealer. When I started having problems I had a hard time getting it in anywhere and even drove two and a half hours to get it looked at. Curt was able to get me in immediately when it started messing up the electrical system. Between him and Connor they got it in immediately, have someone coming in the morning, and they were even able to get me a ride home. I will definitely be bringing my truck here from now on for anything it needs.

2022-06-26I had been debating for some time about trading my car in. Ive had 3 neck surgeries in the last 5 and half years. It was becoming a struggle to get in and out of my fusion. I loved that car. Jumped online found a 2022 Ford st performance Im in love with this new car. Everyone at the dealership was amazing. We joked around laughed it was like we knew everyone. Buying a car cam be stressful but these guys made the whole process easy. I dont feel we were their all that Long but my husband said we would have been out of their sooner if I wasnt talking so much lol. But I didnt care these guys made it worth it.

2022-04-20I was a little disappointed in the miscommunication from the time I had scheduled the service appointment to the time I received the actual service. When I had made the appointment I was informed there would be two recalls/warranty items being investigated. One was a door latch item and the second a controller. I did inform the service scheduler I was getting an intermittent check engine light and some shuttering in the transmission between first and second. I was informed at that time that the check engine light was a good indicator of a controller replacement requirement that is covered up to 150,000 miles. When I received the car, I was informed the clutch needs to be replaced and they had not looked at the controller issue. My questions of concerns are: Why was the controller not investigated knowing the intermittent check engine light and the coverage is in a limited time frame? If Im not being listened to concerning service needs, what kind of service am I receiving?

2022-05-02Made an appointment last week for 9:00 a.m. today. Got there 15 minutes early to be helpful to them. My app already told me what the check engine light was for and that a computer reset would take care of the problem , The estimate on the fix was .09 hours (5-Minutes). I was going to wait, but was quickly told that a 9:00 a.m. appt simply meant it was a drop off time. It didnt mention that anywhere when I scheduled it online. To me, when I set an appointment - it means that it is an agreed upon time to start looking at my car. When I make an appointment - Im on time and my client has my utmost attention. I was also told that the diagnostic fee was going to be $150. Shouldve walked right then. They did provide a ride home though... Here is it 7.5 hours later and I havent heard anything about my car. Not one update. Nothing to say, We got it diagnosed and are resetting it. Nothing to say, You can pick up your car in two hours and the cost will be... I just called and the was transferred to service. It rang and rang and rang - no answer. I guess Ill wait to my wife gets home and drive over to see whats up. I already took the day off from work. Will I have to tomorrow as well? So frustrating that dealers feel that their time is more valuable than mine. Got to the dealership and nothing was done. Walked out and scheduled with a local auto repair place that is more intereted in my business.

2022-04-08What I thought was going to be an unpleasant sales experience turned into a win win experience. This is coming from a person who has been a parts person, service manager and service director at the dealership level, long before moving to Ohio. You cant beat good customer service.
