We have two boys under the age of 21 and our car insurance was quite expensive. We switched to Ted Deter at Compass Insurance in Ashland, Ohio and were shocked at how much money he saved us. The insurance agent (Ted Deter) approached me to have my insurance quoted. I told him I did not have time right now. He said “I understand. If you need anything in the future please let me know.”After my previous insurance company raised my rates without telling me, I called Ted back to see if he was willing to quote me in person. I like doing things the old fashioned way, so I set up an appointment to meet him at his office. I like to ask questions, and Ted loves to answer them. He was able to answer all my silly questions with a professional answer. An hour later, he quoted me with several trusted insurance companies and found me the best rate. I will save over $500 this year.
We switched all our insurance to Compass Insurance Co. Ted always handles all our tranactions with ease, it is great to have a person that you can trust to handle your insurance needs. Great company great agent and friend.

If you could leave 0 stars I would. I asked to remove a vehicle from a policy and they said they took care of it. I even followed up to make sure. Found out almost a year later I was still being charged for it when I was trying to update the policy. Only received a partial refund and barely an apology. I wish I could say this was the only issue Ive had with this company... forgetful, incompetent and not trustworthy.

2019-10-08Ted at Compass has been a true life saver when it comes to assisting me with insurance. I got dropped from Statefarm and started with them about a year ago. Since then, Ted has exceeded all expectations of what I thought an agent could provide and has saved me a lot of money and a lot of stress. I would highly recommend switching to this group as they are a truly outstanding company. 2018-11-09My car insurance policy was recently switched over to Ted at Compass Insurance. He was great to work with and I am saving a little over $100 a month. Everything went smoothly and it took just a few minutes to finalize everything. Located right downtown Ashland. Highly recommend!
