Ok I was a little worried after reading reviews. We just stayed here 4/30&5/1The parking yes is tight but ok. We have a brand new car so I parked on the end so nothing happened to it. You pay almost 10 bucks through the hotel for it. I think it should be free as a guest but this is big city life I guess. Walked into the hotel and the fragrance they use is terrible unless you like the smell of pot. I smelled this on another hotel lobby and I just about left. Its so bad. Please change it. The employees are great and friendly. Ok the room. Yes its a older place. The walls are paper thin and just hope you get good Neighbors. We didnt. They were loud the first night. The second night they were drunk and of course they argued and puked. Yes you can hear them puking. The AC unit kicked in every 5 minutes at 73 degrees. Turned down to 70 the second night it was much better. The bed was comfortable. We bring our own pillows just because. The room was clean for the most part. The microwave wasnt plugged in and went to plug it in and the cord was too short so we had to pull it out and put it on the table. Guess what they dont dust the top of it also. Plus when plugging it in there were masks behind the TV and unopened than good gum back there. The bathroom door is very narrow. Maybe 30 inches. The toilet will its a small round one.Great food all around the hotel. Great location. The breakfast is the typical one. Nothing special so dont expect more.
I made reservations for family due to funeral for a week, Tub had black ring, no one addressed after reporting bathroom need addressing, they did fix toilet that broke, no checked room while there, no one brought more towel, toilet paper or tissues for the week. Will not have family stay at this comformt in again! Comfort inns are usually good stays, very disappointed at this one.
Positive: I guess the location was close to our venue Negative: The room had a lot of dust and there was a lot of mold on the ceiling and in the bathroom. I could smell cigarettes coming from another room or the hall. You have to pay for parking. Its not included and its a surprise because no one mentioned it
Room was clean but smelled of cigarette smoke and there was a used tampon in the toilet. Otherwise the room was immaculate, The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean. There was no channel guide for the TV. Difficult to find somewhere to eat other than the Subway, which is in the same building. It was quiet. Hallways and elevator was clean. Staff was very friendly.
The bathroom was dirty. We would not use the tub. The corners in the bathroom looked as if they had never been cleaned. The carpet could us some updating. The remote to the tv was very dirty! Most places are sanitizing these high touch areas and even putting a clean plastic covering over the remote. This remote was gross. The bed, pillows and linens were great.
On Feb 4, 2022, the front desk staff allowed someone to stay in a reservation under my name. My Choice Hotels account was hacked and the person used my reward points to book the room. Clearly no one at the front desk asked to see my ID. Whoever stayed under my name was checked in by dThakk0. I am just confused as to how you allowed someone to stay there under my name without providing proof of ID...
The air conditioner was not properly working in my room. There were teenagers partying and yelling all night. In the hallways at 4:30 screaming. The parking lot attendant was super rude. They also rent out their parking lot so you’re never guaranteed a spot, but you’re guaranteed to pay for it.
Online said they had rooms. When we get there they claim there was no rooms available then basically tried to kick us out of their lobby while we tried to find a different hotel. They were very rude and stuck up. Ive lived in the Cleveland area for many years now. And that is the first time Ive dealt with that rude of the hotel staff
The staff here was very friendly and welcoming. The location is great, plenty of fun things to do and see within walking distance of the hotel. Our room was a bit out dated and not as clean as it could have been, but still not bad for the price. The room photos online looked nicer than in person.
Comfort Inn Downtown Cleveland offers exceptional service and comfortable rooms at a great rate. The employees are outstanding, knowledgeable, and professional. If you are a patient at Cleveland Clinic, this location offers discounts and shuttle services. There are several nice places to eat in, carry out, or order delivery from. My experience was great!
My mother and I stayed at the comfort inn downtown Cleveland for the 2021 Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame Induction. The location was great, the room was clean and in good repair and we felt totally safe as two women visiting from out of town. The elevators are a bit dated, but they function well. Parking is super convenient. If you are looking for a hotel in downtown Cleveland (especially near Playhouse Square), I’d highly recommend the Comfort Inn Downtown.
The hotel was easy to find. Parking, entering and exiting convenient. Shuttle to Cleveland Clinic runs every 2 hours and very helpful. Uber ride is about $10 so still easier snd more convenient than parking. All in all safe and convenient place to stay when visiting the Cleveland Clinic for tests or appointments. Staff is lovely, helpful and very kind. Price is competitive.
Drove in from Pittsburgh. Get there and they tell me without confirmation they swiched my room. Sent me too a quality inn that is cheaper but much nicer. Has more immensities. It was too far away from my work was late. where i should not have to deal with that much stress. I could have lost my job. Lucky i didnt.
We stayed here for a concert at rocket mortgage fieldhouse. Rates were significantly lower than anywhere else around. It was an easy and safe 10ish minute walk from rocket mortgage for three young females. The room was small and simple, but was fine for what we needed. I definitely wouldnt recommend for a large group or an extended stay, but I would stay here again for another event. There was a weird musky smell in the room at first but we opened the window for a minute and it was fine. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly. Everything was clean. Beds were soft and comfortable.

2022-03-05Stayed here several times. Rooms are reasonable and clean and quite. I just wish they would remove the tables already from in front of the front desk. Its kinda hard to reach or give something to the staff when checking in. Other than that always a nice stay. The breakfast bar is decent also.

2022-01-03The staff was great. Very polite and attentive. For what I got I thought the price was too high. Albeit, it was a holiday weekend visit. But the room was mediocre. Water stain on the ceiling tile, wobbly toilet and rust on the toilet. A/C into worked when it choose to. Thankfully I brought my own fan or there would have been no sleeping. The room was handicap accessible and very spacious for my wheel chair no issues there. The room could have definitely used a couch like they have in the suites. The chair for sitting was extremely small and very uncomfortable. The room served its purpose though and was quiet and clean. With Covid the breakfast was pretty sad for what you paid to have it included. Had I known better I wouldnt have paid for it. $38 to add breakfast for a bagel mini ok and granola bar was not it! Hopefully better next time and prices will be different.

2022-04-11One of the smallest bathrooms Ive ever seen in a hotel. The room is so small they put the coffee maker in the bathroom! The room looked old and the beds were not soft. It other than that, though the window was partially open when we arrived. I didnt know they could even have windows that open anymore? I havent seen that in years! Parking ramp to the downstairs area was super steep and curvy! Our van barely made it back up even on a dry day and no snow! I was glad there was a lobby area with a television so I could watch tv after my wife and kids had gone to sleep already. No pool, which was a bit of a bummer. The breakfast was your typical breakfast food. My kids and I were happy we could make waffles!

2022-02-19I cant for the life of me understand why there are good ratings of this place. It looks nothing like the photos online. My coworkers and I were forced to stay here during a work trip and we were all horrified. It feels dirty and has a faint stale smell, the kind you get from a hotel that hasnt changed its carpets since the 80s. Every time I dropped an item on the floor, I cringed. The curtain in my room wouldnt open properly, so the room was super dark (probably to help hide some of the stains on the floor and walls). Turning on a light made no difference. Theres not even a safe in the room, which I thought was bare minimum for most hotels. I think the heater/ac used to be white, but is now a faint yellow color and is completely useless and switches on and off every minute, making sleeping harder than it already was with the constant temperature drops. The only positive thing I can say is that the bed and sheets seemed new and were pretty comfortable. But it was not enough to help feel relaxed and comfortable in such a bleak, grungy room.

2022-05-13Everything was good. Nice parking, well lit lot with an attendant. Nice locations with nearby restaurant. Staff friendly and helpful. Shuttle to Cleveland Clinic was convenient. Rooms were spacious, free internet, coffee in room, nice temperature control, hair dryer and ironing equipment.

2022-06-21Positive: The location was great. Right in the theatre district which was lovely. The hot breakfast was good and the frig and the microwave were a nice surprise as they were not listed in the amenities. Also, parking was less than at other downtown hotels. Negative: The alley between the hotel and the parking lot where you have to drive out is not nice.

2022-05-18I enjoyed this hotel. It has much of the original detail where they could and totally updated what was necessary. The underground garage was very convenient to get to. Great breakfast too! Ill definitely be staying here again.

2022-04-09Positive: It was very nice, clean, up-to-date, parking and the staff was very helpful and nice. Negative: The Breakfast buffet had a nice variety but the eggs and sausage were cold. I make multiple trips to Cleveland Clinic and will be booking several more stays at the Comfort Inn.

2022-02-02It was very clean. The staff were great. The room was nice. However I had the room reserved for 4 adults. We didnt really pay attention when we 1st got there, my mistake, thst there werent enough towls at all for 4 adults. You would think knowing that room was reserved for 4 adults it would be prepared that way. And I appreciate free in room coffee but there wasnt no sugar or creamer or stir sticks to make said coffee which again we noticed too late. Would stay here again but will pay better attention to the room. Also being charged for parking is ridiculous.

2022-03-24I know Im a bit late writing this out, but its been crazy for my family. We stayed here for a night back in August of 2021 due to my mom being at Cleveland Clinic, and we were given a discount. The first stay here was okay and we didnt have any problems. My father stayed here again around August 18th as my mother was still in Cleveland Clinic. We didnt think anything was wrong when he returned home. On August 22, 2021 we started finding bedbugs in our home. We were confused as to where they had come from because we didnt have them before. I looked in the suitcase that my father had taken with him to the hotel, and it was infested with them. I did contact the hotel about it on August 24th. They asked what room my father had stayed in. My father couldnt remember as he was more worried about my mother (she ended up passing away a day prior). The hotel informed me that they would need to speak with my father as he was the one who had stayed there. My father was in no condition to speak with them as we had just lost my mother the day prior to me calling. I was told that they couldnt help me then.It is now March of 2022, and I just now managed to finally get rid of the bedbugs. Had the staff cleaned the room properly they would have discovered that whomever rented to room prior to my father had brought bedbugs.Trying to deal with bedbugs on top of grieving the loss of my mother was beyond exhausting. The thing that annoys me the most is that they wouldnt help out or even acknowledge the fact that my father brought the bedbugs home from the hotel. I tried reaching out to a lawyer, but I honestly couldnt afford one due to having to pay for my mothers cremation.I had to tackle getting rid of bedbugs on my own.I wouldnt recommend staying here. If you have no other choice I suggest checking the entire room. Bedbugs are annoying and hard to get rid of.
