The hotel was clean and the room was comfortable. The WIFI was kind of slow, but the TV had plenty of channels; however, the information binder, which was provided by the staff, was outdated and inaccurate. The staff was friendly and helpful. The water from the shower took awhile to get warm, but the A/C was nice and cool. The A/C unit was quite loud, though. The biggest downside to this hotel was the hidden pet fee. It was not declared prior to the reservation being set and not cancellable. And it was substantial (a full 33% of the total cost of the room!). This fee should have been clearly displayed prior to the reservation being finalized.
Positive: What I like best about the motel was the bed was comfortable and the shower had a lot of pressure and plenty of hot water so that was about it for the motel. And it was pet friendly that was a plus Negative: The motel was old I knew that to start with the motel was dirty I didnt expect that. When I found straight pins laying on a carpet that could have got into my feet or into my pets feet I was not satisfied. It was a downpour rainstorm my key would not .
I spent a night here at Comfort Inn while on the road. I chose this place because I wanted a good clean room with decent customer service and a variety of amenities. The room was comfortable. It had WiFi, a nice TV, microwave, coffee maker and even granite in the bathroom. I am not saying that it is the Ritz Carlton but a nice place to spend the night with a name that can be trusted for a fair price. I would definitely return! As Always, Enjoy!
I have stayed here back in 2016 and compared to that stay the hotel has gone down hill in every way the carpet was disgusting and reeked of urine. The bed skirt had stains looked like it hadn’t been washed. The bathroom floor was gross the tub was filthy to the point I went and purchased bleach and other supplies to clean it. The mattresses were old and incredibly uncomfortable. Don’t waste your money.
Very Over priced for its location and hotel amenities. Wasn’t overly impressed with the service- I’d just stayed at a marriot the night before (and it was a lot cheaper!) and by comparison they were falling over themselves to help me. The rooms were a bit dingy -esp for the price. I didn’t find the counter staff particularly helpful or courteous. Toilet paper had run out and the breakfast was meagre
Door knobs literally falling off of doors in common hallways and doors to outside did not latch properly Musty moldy smell in hallways, talked to several other guest about sameRoom was musty, and toilet took at least two to four flushes to empty No elevatorNo directions given on how to find my room. I had to go upstairs carrying my luggage then back downstairs to find lobby and ask for directions. There are two separate stairways to go to second floor and each staircase only gives access to half of the rooms.
We always stay at Choice hotels but wont stay at this one again. Very outdated entered in back of hotel to a stairway..needed swept & could tell right away this was a theme..across the hall someone had a dog (hotel is pet friendly) we heard it bark that night & in the am..we didnt even arrive till approx 10:30pm could also hear kids and the dog running in the hallway. Lastly our room had 2 double beds one looked fine the other the sheets were extremely wrinkled as if they had sat wadded up in a ball for days before putting on bed. Didnt shower as it looked suspect to me. Sorry its true.
Although our room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable the check in staff was very unpleasant!!! The tub was dirty and there was a ginormous hole in the wall in the bathroom that looked right into the bed area that had no way of keeping the bathroom area private. There was an unlocked closet that was full of pipes and tools right in the room as well.
Positive: Didn¿t see any bedbugs. Negative: This was a nice hotel last year. It is really run down now. The upstairs hallway smelled like weed. Cicadas were smashed all over the inside of the entrance to the stairwell. Not cleaned up at all. I realize they are everywhere, but daily cleaning?
The beds and pillows were very comfortable and clean, towels were clean. TV was nice flatscreen/updated. What is to be expected for the price range. I did decide to try the jetted tub out which I cleaned before I used it as I always do. There were hairs left behind from other guests. Once clean I filled it and got in and a ring of soap scum maybe developed around the tub while I was in it. I own a hot tub so there are some extra cleaning involved with jets.
Seemed like a nice place. My room appeared clean and nice. Thought it was over priced, but I like Choice Hotels so we stayed here.Breakfast was pretty decent, not as great as the Comfort Inn we were at the day before. Oddly enough the toiletries they had here, much different than the Comfort Inn the day before, in fact all of them weve ever stayed at. Usually shampoo, conditioner and lotion options are in the bathroom. Here, just 2 bars of soap. I travel with my own, I didnt need them, and if I did Im sure a stop at the desk would get some, but thats an inconvenience, and could be really bad if Ive started my shower when I realize it.The room, and part of the building had a odd odor. Although I got used to it, something you dont expect when you pay that much for a room.Staff was great, everyone was friendly.
The hotel was really nice and comfortable, the beds felt like your sleeping on clouds. My only recommendation would be to have the staff do check ups on the rooms to see what needs to be changed like shower heads, microwave, etc. But overall I enjoyed my stay and I will ha e to come back for another stay.
This room was old and needs updating. It was roomy and the bed was somewhat comfortable, but the tub was not clean, and the coffee pot was also not clean. Bathroom had an opening to the rest of the room and privacy was only provided by a thin curtain. Whirlpool tub was extremely noisy. Several electrical switches did nothing. Chain for kitchenette light was unreachable without a chair.
Hotel was a little run down, but it isnt in a very busy location. The outside door that should be opened with your key was propped open which can be a scary thought of just anyone getting in. The opening between the bed and bathroom is uncomfortable to a new couple who would rather not hear what the the other is doing in the bathroom.
I stay at the Comfort Inn - Bellefontaine, Ohio about six times per year when I am in town on business. You will find this hotel to be clean and simple with an excellent, friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms are clean and roomy. Excellent wifi connection and plenty of extrat electrical outlets on or near the work desks. There is a small lounge here that serves drinks only that attracts both hotel guests and locals. While I was checking in the very pleasant young lady clearly was just learning her job and was being supervised by a more experienced employee. Nonetheless, she did an excellent job and she will be a valuable employee!
There is no elevator so we had to take the stairwell each time we came to and from our room. The stairwells were lined with dead flies everywhere. Our room had flies flying around in it all night with dead ones everywhere. We opened up one closet to find a large number of dead flies in it so we kept that door closed and did not use it the entire stay. Side doors were left unlocked and open and so anyone was free to wander in and out of the hotel as they pleased. Lastly, our keycard stopped working an hour before check out and we had to go up and down the stairwell three times to get new cards and finally, the front desk lady came up the third time with us to use an employee card. She was rude and stated, You know you have an hour to leave right? Yes, we did know, thats why were trying to get our bags...
Whirlpool tub wouldnt hold water. Room was filled with flies due to a room window being left open. Several doors besides the main entrance were open/unlocked at all times. A door that was marked as a fire door that must remain closed was open the entire time during our stay.
Poor front desk service. Waited 10 minutes both times at check in and check out. Had to knock on the door to get an employee to check us in. Then we had the same issue checking out except we never got anybody to come. I even called the hotel to see if somebody could come to the front desk. We ended up checking ourselves out by writing a note and leaving our room keys on top of it. Also, gross sheets. Lots of stains.
The ladies on the staff we came across were very friendly and helpful. The men not so much. I was promised he would come to the gym to help with equipment and he never showed. The pool was too cold to swim in. The beds were too small to be queens, and not comfy. Breakfast was good but the water and ice tastes terrible. The hotel was clean but a little outdated. Im not saying I wouldnt stay here again, but I have stayed in better for less money. Nothing to really write home about with this one. Depends on what you need for your stay. Oh and wifi kept kicking us off.
The house keeping is not good at all. One day, after long day out we found our room the same way we had left it. No additional soap or shampoo. The bathrooms need cleaning. We even used the coffee maker in the room but the coffee used has not been replaced. The front desk is friendly. There is a bar which is nice, has a pool table and complementary pop corn, prices are great.
As I am a truck driver, parking is always a priority when choosing a place to stay. This hotel accommodates multiple trucks easily. The staff was excellent and allowed me to check in early and after being delayed at my delivery for an extra day, I was able to come right back to the hotel and continue my stay. The breakfast was good, with some hot food along with the standard assorted bread products and a waffle maker. If I find myself in this area again, I will not hesitate to book a room here with full confidence that my stay will be another 5 star experience.
There were stains on the pullout couch cushions the room smelled musky and our bed was very firm. The check in lady didnt wear a mask at all but was friendly and helpful. The jacuzzi bath tub was ok but the overhead shower had a side that sprayed off to the side. Its affordable but could use some tlc
I was pleasantly surprised to find a fairly recently remodeled room with a nice size mini-fridge, microwave, nice padding under the carpet that looked fairly new, and nice furniture.I was only there for one night, but I dont have any major complaints. The ceiling fan was a nice way to keep the air moving in the room. The bathroom still seemed a bit dated with some mold and dirt in the corners, but overall, very nice. The breakfast area looked extremely limited and small, so I decided to not leave time for breakfast. The offerings as I walked by looked pretty good, but it was a very cramped space.
I would not recommend this hotel at all. We got married in August and had the majority of our guests stay at this location. The customer service was awful, the rooms were dirty and we were charged for more rooms than we actually stayed in. Our guests had wet floors, smoke smelling rooms and sinks and showers that wouldn’t drain. The cable was out in every room and we were told it was because of the weather, even though it was cloudy out. The hotel room that had our wedding flowers in it had a broken door so when we were going to leave we had to wait for them to come and figure out how to get the door open. One of our guests woke up to the staff cleaning around him. The bar and bar staff was great and that was the only positive part of our stay.
Our Comfort Inn stay went well. There were 2 beds in our room and one had a mattress topper on it that made it somewhat more comfortable than the bed without the topper. We thought that was a nice idea since some people may prefer a firmer bed and that gave us a choice. Also the breakfast menu was amazing with a great variety of everything we enjoy. Just always good to get a good nights sleep when traveling and we did. Would definitely revisit this Comfort Inn.
The Bellfontaine Ohio Comfort Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It sits on a hill where you have great views of the surrounding areas. The hotel has recently undergone a renovation, and the results are outstanding. The hallways and stairs are freshly painted and carpeted. The rooms are modern and so comfortable. There was a refrigerator and microwave in our room which are always nice to have for cold drinks and heating restaurant leftovers. The bedding is all new, and the mattresses and pillows were excellent. The bathroom was also updated, and included a functioning ventilator fan. There were blackout drapes for the window, and plenty of lighting in the room. The staff were all pleasant and efficient. Breakfast was fresh and replenished often. We enjoyed our stay here.
We stayed at this hotel after a trip to Mad River Mountain for Midnight Madness. The hotel is in close proximity to the mountain, which made it very convenient. There was a continental breakfast included that was nice for the kids before going back to the ski resort the next day. There was also a hotel bar that was nice for adults, but could be heard once in our rooms. The lobby, hallways and business center looked like construction had been started and not finished, but the rooms were better than I expected. Our double room was clean, and fairly updated. Overall, we had a good experience at this hotel. I would stay again based on its convenient location and decent rooms. Our 1 night reservation was a bit pricey, but youre paying for convenience during prime ski time.
I was pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of this room - a king suite with whirlpool spa. Cleanliness was impeccable and the housekeeping staff was attentive. Seemed a little pricey for the market area, but not extremely so. Breakfast was above average, but needed more attention to keep stocked. WiFi was adequate, but required re-signing in frequently, which was mildly annoying as I needed it to accomplish work in the room.
We stayed at the Comfort Inn to because my son was getting married one mile away. I couldnt see driving to the nearby towns because my daughter-in-laws family would have to keep driving to get us. There are only two hotels in town, so we decided to take a chance on the Comfort Inn.The staff and even the guests were extremely friendly and kind. The lobby is small but comfortable and the food was typical breakfast fare. There is a bar off the lobby, but I would imagine it is a way to keep the hotel in business. This is a small town! The only time there was noise from the bar was on Friday/Saturday nights when patrons were leaving. The computer off the lobby worked very well, and I was able to get work done. The snack and soda machines were well-stocked and the products were very reasonably priced. The rooms were clean, but I thought it odd that a sliding door to the bathroom was placed where the regular door was supposed to be. The bed seemed comfortable, but I woke up with a back ache every morning and I had to walk outside or on the treadmill to feel better. The fitness room had four pieces of equipment: treadmill, bike, elliptical, and universal. I had intentions to go on the bike one morning, but one of the pedals was missing. This was disappointing. With all the complaints, I would stay at the hotel again. The staff more than made up for any problems.
We had no advanced reservations, and the front desk was very helpful in getting us a room. Very, very lively entertainment in the bar. Nice pool, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The halls smelled of smoke, but the rooms did not. Breakfast was not very nice. Warming bins empty. It is one of the very few hotels in the area, and is the best choice of what appears to be available.
This is the first time Ive stayed at a Comfort Inn. The staff was friendly and nice. The room was very clean and when we needed extra towels or garbage bags, the staff was very accommodating. My family also enjoyed the breakfast, there were so many choices for everyone. Also, my kids loved the outdoor pool and it was close to restaurants and some local stores.
Have stayed at this hotel many times over the last few months. If in the area would stay again. The staff were great, making reservations were easy. Because I stayed often they new my name and the treatment was good. If you need a place to stay in this area I would recommend this hotel.
Only stayed one night and overall it was a pleasant experience. The staff was helpful and the accommodations were sufficient. I liked all the communication materials in the room like the card to mark if you had special instructions for the cleaning person and the card to note if anything needed repaired. The only real negative that I had was the noise. The rooms are not very sound proof.
The people working at this hotel are absolutely marvelous. Very helpful and friendly. The only problem that I had with the hotel is that there was an open octagon between the bathroom and the sleeping area - completely open. The bathroom door was in place and fully functional (albeit pointless due to the OPEN OCTAGON!) Some people like to pee in private and some warning would have been appreciated.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, things were clean and orderly--in fact, as we spent so much time in the lobby playing games even early in the morning, we were all struck by how much attention was paid to cleanliness and orderliness. The staff seems to take their work quite seriously. Our grandson, who is quite the waffle fan, loved fixing his own each morning.
This hotel was very comfortable, clean. Employees , exceptional. Price of the rooms was lower than we have seen in a while, very pleased. There is also a small bar area. Rooms well decorated and well kept, and clean, as well as comfortable bed. There is a clean well kept outside pool area, no hot tub. The breakfast has a large variety of items for everyone. The only negative ia that the eating area is too small, some of the guest had to sit on the couch in the loby area, inside the bar area, and some took food back to their room. The sign to the hotel from the road is too small and low to ground, Since hotel is not visable from the road. We did pass it and had to double back. Overall I would give this hotel a 5.
I checked at 10 p.m., tired at the end of a long day. The person staffing the front desk was most accommodating, getting me into a room efficiently and effectively. The room was clean and good for my needs. Breakfast was good. My only could have been better is that I would prefer brewed coffee rather than machine coffee. Good value. I will be back.
Good, cleaner Jan other Comfort Inns I have stayed before. Breakfast was good even though it was a little right in sitting. Staff was nice but other guests/rooms were noisy. Carpet smell musty but tolerable. Stayed one night but would not have stayed longer because of smell.
Overall great experience, but the housekeeping staff have slacked off somewhat this past time. Its a nice, quiet place to stay! The staff is friendly and will go above and beyond their duty to be helpful! My family has stayed at the Comfort Inn numerous times over the past several years and would never think of going anywhere else in the area!
It was mostly good. need to update the snack machines tho i lost $2 in there and was too shy to say anything to the desk because it was like 230am. definitely have more food availability. i never think to take food with me so the snacks werenice. they were good snacks. but the machine stole my money.
This place would not even let me rent a room, because I am not 21 years old. I am 19 years old and own a pilot/flag car business, and thus I travel very frequently with oversize loads across the east coast and the midwest. I am very disappointed about being turned away simply because Im younger. The Super 8 down the road was very nice, though!
The front desk staff, the housekeeping staff, and the breakfast worker were great!! Very friendly and helpful!! The hotel needs a big facelift!! The adds lead one to believe the chain is doing that, but the logo has been changed, but nothing else!! This is only one of two hotels in Bellefontaine, OH and it needs a little competition!! It is hard to want to “baddy book, badda boom”, when you dread staying there, even though we have a lot of family there!!
The hotel was very clean. I liked the open concept single rooms. However, during breakfast the employees decided that it would be a great time to mop the lobby and bar floors with ammonia. I had to enjoy my morning coffee with my nostrils full of noxious chemicals. There was also a leak in the roof in my room, but they seemed eager to repair it once I pointed it out.
I was extremely disappointing with the staff members service. Housekeeping maid never cleaned my room properly. Maid never clean my bathroom or toilet properly. Maid never did the floor vacuuming properly. It seemed that the maids was being forceful for the room service. The weekend breakfast was never properly cooked. The Breakfast potatoes were never cooked properly.Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the housekeeping and the attitude of the staff and never recomand anyone to stay at Bellefontaine Comfort Inn.
The room was nice, and the staff was nice also. The breakfast had a lot of variety and overall it was clean. The only thing I didnt like was when we opened the window we were near the AC units so it was pretty noisey. It seemed kind of pricey for its location. I wouldnt say it was a bargain and probably wouldnt stay there again at that price.
When we arrived to the hotel it was very hot. The air was not turned on so we couldnt enjoy the room for a bit. There was no toilet paper or soap in the bathroom and only two towels. The toilet was also backed up. The staff on duty was great at resolving the issue. The vending machines were broken or empty. We had to leave the hotel at night to get water and snacks from the local gas station. The pool was nice, the beds were comfortable and seemingly clean.
Planned a quick two-day family trip & this hotel was perfect for that. The hotel is a bit dated but very clean which is most important. Reasonable price, clean rooms, & very friendly staff. Had a king room with a jacuzzi tub - that was awesome! Would definitely stay here again.
This hotel was conveniently located for our visit with nearby family members. It has been recently renovated and looks nice throughout. One thing that we like about our room was that the flat screen TV was mounted on the wall rather than sitting on the traditional TV stands like in many hotels. That way we didnt have to strain to look past our feet to see it from the bed. Breakfast was quite adequate with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, waffles, cereal, juices and coffee, etc.Overall this is a nice hotel and I will recommend it to our friends and family.
Not clean, understaffed, strange room, bathroom, tub layout, unusual for any Comfort Inn we have ever stayed at. Back hall security door key access broken and door always ajar. Covers pulled up over rumpled pile of sheets as we left them on second day of stay, not made neatly as is typical. Hair on Bathroom floor and unclean toilet with all lids up on first day entry. What happened to this Comfort Inn?
Have stayed here in the past and was always impressed. Unfortunately this time was not so nice. Room was in disrepair, pillow cases appeared to have been used, toilet ran all night, and bathroom door swung closed on its own. Swivel chair at working desk had holes in the padding.
I stay at this Comfort Inn on an average of every three months and always find this facility to be very clean and comfortable. I live in Michigan and travel here on business in the area. I find that the rooms are exceptionally clean and I appreciate the extra electrical outlets in the room to use/charge laptop/cellphone/tablet.The hotel has a bar and this is the only area where I feel the hotel is missing an opportunity to keep guests happy by making available some food/snack options. The Choice Hotels mobile app notes that we can dine-in here, but in reality this is a drinks only bar. Breakfast is available, youll need to seek out one of the many local...and good... restaurants for your other meals. Again, this is a missed opportunity to have typical bar style food (nachos, hot dog, burger, etc.) available to guests. You will find in the bar both locals and hotels guests and very fun, friendly and welcoming bartenders.Breakfast is your typical simple hotel fare with hot waffle, scramble eggs, biscuit/gravy, juices, coffee, cereal, etc. All good. There is some remodeling taking place here but at no tome did it interfere or disturb my stay.Only quirk in my stay this time was housekeeping staff knocking on my door at 9:30 a.m. while I was in the shower...even though I had the do not disturb sign hanging out on the door. No biggie....but please...there is a reason for a do not disturb sign on the door..especially when Im in the shower..!!!I definitely will continue to stay and this location and I highly recommend this location to others.
Hotel was ok. Way better than the other option in this town. Rooms were decent. Curtains don’t actually shut! Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was utterly disgusting! Nothing was edible Eggs horrific. Bacon rubber. Potatoes kept in a crockpot- which made them rubber too. Toaster took 8 minutes and barely toasted. No juices at all. Ran out of water. Sunday at 9:15 and no waffle mix left! How is that breakfast ??
The hotel was ok but the pool was under construction so couldnt us that. A little expensive for the two nights I feel. Breakfast selection was decent. Our room smelled weird, kind of mildewy, but appeared clean. The front counter staff had a melt down one morning in front of everybody eating breakfast because her replacement was late, threatening to just walk out to whomever she was talking with on the phone. It was rather unprofessional. I liked the pillows.
We found the hotel to be nice, clean and easy to find. It however was noisy with doors slamming all hours of the night. I think the biggest disappointment was that there is no elevator. After a long tiring day, it was all we could do to tote our luggage up two floors. This should be advertised when you book...The beds were comfortable but the hot water pressure low. It wasnt a bad stay but it could have been better.....The vending machines were limited in choice and only accepted change. The bar served no food. The girl at the front desk was mediocre at best.
The hotel was very accommodating of my long term needs even serving breakfast 30 minutes earlier. Nice, new, comfortable beds, large rooms and pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast is ready early and allows for me and my field crews to have a good, hot, breakfast before work.
This hotel was decent for a weekend stay with a family. There are parts of it that are quite outdated (warped ceiling fans in the rooms, dark rooms, more updated bathrooms, yet still quite dark) but it was clean well maintained. The staff was very friendly all around and went above any expectation to make guest feel welcome.
Lets start from the beginning: (2 nights free with rewards points)Arrived, the reservation was fine, however they asked for a credit card to charge the suite to, I informed them that it was a rewards paid for stay, they then backed off on the request for a card and thanked me for being a rewards member. Looked at check in sheet, didnt mention rewards, just that it was direct billed.Given key: It was for a second floor suite (I am/was 1 week from knee replacement surgery so stairs are tough) and told there is no elevator. I was then informed that there was no possibility to be moved to a first floor suite. So I lugged everything upstairs (slowly). Stairway was not air conditioned so it was not just warm but hot.Arrived second floor: It had that smell that reminded you of spraying a scent spray over a smoking area. It lingered on the entire stay in both the room and the hallway. Later found out from an employee that the second floor area was the original smoking area. It had been remodeled and received new furniture, but the smoky background still lingered. In suite hot tub/shower: The hot tub is the tub/Jacuzzi/shower all in one. And yes just like the pictures it has an opening through the wall into the sleeping area with a curtain to pull over if using the shower. However the shower was just a trickle and wouldnt have sprayed through it anyway. Plenty of hot water though. Had to read a sign in the corner of the bathroom to figure out how to operate the pump/jets (after already getting in it). Pump unit was very loud.Second day: Was getting ready to get in tub and realized that the maid service had supplied new bath mat, but no towels or wash clothes. Got dressed, went to front desk, asked for towels. Was told they would be up shortly with them. 20 minutes later, had to call down and request them again. They apologized that they got in conversation and forgot. They arrived 5 minutes later.Breakfast: It was okay, but a quite a bit short on the choices I have received at other locations in the chain. Sitting area is very small and tight. People at tables restrict access to serving counters. Employee stocking the service had little preparation area and equipment and had to use the connected bar for preparation area as well. Food itself was good.Pool: It was outside. Very clean and well kept. Was warm and inviting. Bring your own towel as the shelf with clean dry towels was empty and the dirty towel shelf full.Staff: Every one was very friendly and nice. No rudeness. One person joking suggested that I stop by later and he would provide me with biased restaurant suggestions if I was interested. The staff changed by the time I returned for that information. Went to decent Mexican restaurant just half a mile away that was reasonable priced.WiFi & TV: WiFi worked and was not difficult to connect. TV was kind of small and bolted solid (not movable). Had very hard time finding HDMI slot on back for my PC/Netflix (couldnt see behind). Had to set PC on dresser (I needed a longer HDMI cable than 6) so couldnt use desk chair to sit at PC. Plenty of outlets around room and on lights to plug my stuff in. Only desk though, and no table for 2 people to sit at in suite.Final Result: It was livable but I will not be returning to this particular location again.
Came in for a Savage Race. The hotel is decent, 2-story (though no elevator so if you come w/ several bags and get the upper floor, youll be hoofing your luggage up the steps). Karl (the attendant) at the front desk for our arrival and departure appeared less-than-thrilled to be there, but appears to otherwise have done his job. Room was nice. Bed was VERY comfortable. Facility quiet for good nights sleep. We had a weird window in our bedroom directly into the whirlpool tub of the bathroom; which offers no privacy if you have any GI troubles and your roomate.
Stayed here on business. This was one of the strangest rooms I have ever stayed. It was clean, comfortable and convenient to where I needed to be. However, the king room has a very odd window into the bathroom 😱 A Curtain hangs in the opening. I was surprised by the lack of privacy this would provide if a couple would be sharing this room. Nothing spectacular. There is a bar/lounge but they do not serve food. Staff was friendly.
It was a nice stay in a nice room, the staff was friendly and helpful, smoking area was nice and laundry facilities were in good working order. The food was great, although the biscuits were dry. The only disappointing aspect was the condition of the water in the jacuzzi tub.
Im not sure what some of the bad reviews are about. I am very prissy when it comes to hotels and this one was great. Room was spotless, beds were super comfortable, staff was friendly. The only thing I could say anything about was that the pool was closed, but it in no way diminished our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
Our room smelled so badly we checked out early - it REEKED of smoke, like someone had been smoking in it for days before we got there. That being said, it was clean and comfy, and breakfast was good. The people working the desk for check in and check out werent really friendly. The outer doors were not very secure and falling apart. WiFi was awful - couldnt get anything on it. Wed look elsewhere if we would ever come back to the area. Both of us have headaches from the smoke smell. (Air fresheners couldnt touch it.)
The wifi is awful so if you get on your phone a lot, i wouldn’t come here. There are no hot breakfast options due to covid-19 which is okay. Some workers are friendly but some have an attitude and are strict. Some rules are understandable but they have a large amount of rules and it gets a bit annoying trying to wait and wait for things you need. Overall it was okay and a decent place.
The room was pretty recently remodeled. It had very comfy pillows, matress, and sheets. Even the office chair was very nice. The room was good size with a couch, microwave, and refrigerator. There was even a bar, which is unusual for a Comfort Inn. The breakfast was only okay.
I really appreciated the quality and professional way this Motel is operated. They went out of their way to have breakfast prepared ahead of the posted time because of the snow storm and the fact that I had to drive in it and arrive at my destination by 7a.m. . . . The staff is very friendly and is a great asset to this motel and chain. I would recommend this location and would definitely stay there again.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Comfort Inn Bellefontaine, Ohio. We stayed here once before and was so pleased with the facilities we didnt think twice about looking anywhere else. The rooms are clean and well decorated. We had a refrigerator and microwave which came in very handy. The king-size bed was wonderfully comfortable with an assortment of pillows (soft and firm) to meet individual needs. The shower/jacuzzi was interesting as though it was situated in the bathroom, it had an octagonal tiled window-like opening directly into the bedroom with a shower curtain to use when the shower was in use. Id had never seen this before. I was a little concerned that water from the shower might splash into the bedroom but with the curtain pulled it was contained. The breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold foods along with a do-it- yourself waffle iron and batter. Lots of fresh fruit was available as well as pastries and assorted drinks. Our stay was very pleasant and we would highly recommend the Comfort Inn Bellefontaine, Ohio to all.
Weve made this hotel our mini getaway destination. Not just that its a fantastic hotel but, We LOVE All the staff ! We hate to sound cliche but weve made this hotel our new home away from home. The staff truly makes us feel like were staying with family (not the ones you dread at holidays :) Christine is our favorite ! She is super warm, friendly & welcoming, GREAT to chat with And, she makes a WONDERFUL breakfast ! Heather is sweet and also FUN to chat with ! Carl (Bud) although quiet, hard working and professional, he is funny and goes out of his way to be helpful with anything you need. Whitney is a busy bee but if you can get her to stop for a chat, she, like ALL the other staff weve meet during our stays, is intelligent and great to chat with. The cleaning staff and maintenance guys are AMAZING and are always busy keeping this hotel in working order. We HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone we talk to whether theyre going to be just passing through, need a night or two getaway or hitting one of the travel destinations such as Ohio Caverns...THIS IS THE ONLY HOTEL; forget the other hotel in the area (TOTAL dump) or any in Lima because this one is a destination all on its own !
So the room was nice ppl was nice but we wanted to just lay in hot tub first off it dont hold water long and second it took over 2 hours to fill up its got a kitchen faucet instead of a bath tub one might need to change and fix drain room 138 dont get it if your looking to use tub.
A great place to stay. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. The part I like best is the staff. Always professional, courteous and friendly. In this type of business there tends to be alot of turnover, so when I see the same staff year after year. From the front end to the cleaning crew it speaks volumes to the type of business it is. This is why they get my business every time I am in the area.Whit from Greencastle, PA
Good hotel for money very clean. Room heater had digital setting very comfortable not noisy.Just off express way.A lot of places to eat. good hot breakfast. Needs INDOOR hot tub maybe a indoor pool but you only have two choices and other motel had terrible reviews. So if you need to stay in area and not drive at least 15 more miles to 20+ miles stay here I will if needed,
Beware! Hotel was newer and seemed fine. The breakfast had a lot of options. Only complaint we had is the hooker that apparently frequents the bar and then a room. Well her room ended up next to ours (we have a 4yr old) she was so disgustingly loud. We had our TV cranked and still didnt drown out the screaming, spanking and whatever electronic shocking device she was into. My daughter thought someone was hurt. Her poor ears. My husband went to the front desk and the Manager moved us saying that girl has a lot of energy. Well thanks for putting her next to us. No apologies were given.
Nice Hotel with great amenities. Employees were very helpful and rooms were very satisfactory. Just beware if you have allergies to pets, as pets can stay in rooms and Ive found dog hair behind the headboards of the bed and under the beds. They should have dedicated rooms that those with pets can stay in only.
I dont know how Choice Hotels gets their reviews but this cannot be accurate. Four star or above, No way!!! The hot tub in our room didnt work ( the manager did offer to move us ) , the breakfast roaster was dirty, the vanity top in the room was dirty. It is an older Comfort Inn and quite run down. They leave the back door propped open with a brick so housekeeping can get in and out. It was a point night for us and only 10,000 points but still not worth it.
The Comfort Inn in Bellefontaine, Ohio was not very impressive at all. We paid $122 for a king suite and $112 for a double Queen and a cot for another room. Both rooms needed updated for quite awhile. The comforter was stained, there was some dirt between the headboard and mattress, broken tiles in the bathroom, there was a musty smell in both rooms, the air conditioning unit sounded like it was an overused ice machine after it finally cooled off. This was the first multi floor hotel Ive stayed at that didnt have an elevator. The continental breakfast was actually pretty good though. Lots of choices, hot and cold, and the coffee in the lobby was good. For another $20-$30, I couldve stayed at a Hilton spa hotel in Columbus, so I was very disappointed that I drove the extra miles to get ahead on my trip. I rated this place 2 stars because they overextended my expectations on the free breakfast.
There are only a few hotels in this town and this one is the best. I have been staying in this hotel when in town for about 10 years and they are remodeling for the second time which I find very good. They have a bar which can be either bad or good but I have never heard any noise from it in my room. The breakfast servered looks okay but have never had more than coffee as I dont eat early and usually leave before 8am.
In great need of an update. Rooms were fine. Bar-lobby area is very dated. Probably best hotel in town but almost no competition. The lobby is a throw back to 1988, including smoky bar. Our room also smelled very smoky. Front desk staff was laughably bad —-gruff, no non-sence -grunting character. I’d really suggest driving 30 miles and staying in Springfield—-many more newer/updated options there. By the way, the entrance is tricky to find off highway so be careful or you’ll end up back on the highway.
The room is fine for the area and the *posted* rate. The beds are a bit firm and small, the bathroom is small... but its clean and easily located off the highway. However, they will charge you more than the posted rate - taking the full total (including all fees) listed online and making that your room rate, plus additional fees. The staff was either not willing or not able to fix the issue with the billing and that makes me wonder if this is standard practice for them.
We were very happy with our room. Everything was very updated and nice and I felt the staff did a great job with our room and breakfast options/service. The one and only thing I had wished was better during our stay was the shower head. It had very few streams that sprayed out and the ones that did were so high pressured it was almost painful. Nothing that a new shower head couldnt fix. But that was the ONLY thing that I would change. This was a very minor detail to us. We will more than likely stay here again in the future.
I have stayed at other comfort inns and found them up to date. I have talked to staff in other hotels and none have ever told me and other guess we must leve Fox News on 24/7. The picture of the Pool is nice since its a empty hole in the ground. The phone system along with all electrical system didnt work. The bath jacuzzi didnt work. The bar well what can one say positive oh the bartender was nice as was the staff.
This hotel is getting old and out of repair.Carpets aging and dirty.Noise from hallways, neighboring rooms and parking lot keep you from sleeping.Musty odor from the heater was unpleasant.Room door didnt close tightly.Drain was clogged in the bathtub. The mattress was sagging in the middle. The three good things about this hotel are price, location, and a good breakfast.
Clean, comfortable motel with friendly staff. It is in need of repairs, as many smaller town motels are.... The biggest issue is that there are no automatic door openers at the front entrance. If you are disabled or in a wheelchair, Id recommend calling the front desk when you arrive and asking for assistance. The handicapped ramp is not by the front doors, but about 20 feet to the right as you face the motel.
Everything was fine, as usual. I have stayed at same location multiple times and had no problem. however, this time after I checked in, I found the sink was stopped. when I reported it, the night clerk basically said there wasnt anything to be done about until morning (it was 6 pm when I reported it).room was a suite w/ a 2nd sink, so I made do but it was a poor response to what should be something thats easy to fix
The staff is very friendly and helpful and did everything in their power to make the stay peaceful and enjoyable. I had stayed there and had forgotten a few items. When I realized I had I called the front desk a few days after I had already checked out and told them what I did and they said they would see what they could find for me. When I checked in on my next visit the items I had left there was there waiting on me.
Room was clean, hvac was nice and easy to use, staff was friendly, breakfast was adequate for type of hotel, parking lot needs work, no elevator (hotel description does not indicate it has more than one floor with no elevator), pet friendly ($20), and the WiFi had no Internet access both days we were there. The room book says to call some guy and the hotel will remedy any long distance charges at checkout. Its the hotels responsibility to make sure these things are functional and they remedy if there is ossues, not pass the buck onto the guest. Make sure you have a smartphone in case you have to have internet access.
Although the hotel was crowded the front desk agent found us a king room. The room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Unfortunately, as more senior adults, we were unable to get into the jacuzzi. We did get a credit too offset the issue. We would stay again.
There arent that many hotels in the West Liberty / Bellefontaine area. Was happy to find this hotel. The stay was nice, my only complaint is that there is no elevator and you have to carry luggage upstairs if on the second floor. I guess we could have asked for a ground floor room once we realized there was no elevator, but I just wanted to get into the room and rest from a busy day.
Visited the location in Bellefontaine Ohio. Not a bad location. Room was nice and whirlpool tub was nice. Bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Little odd if I wanted to use fridge I had to turn it on. Didnt need to but no instructions on how to turn on. Breakfast was awesome and great variety of foods to choose from. Food also was fresh tasting.
An employee told me i would not be charged and she just needed my card to hold the room. We get to the hotel, my husband gave a different employee his card to charge the room. The employee slid the card and husband signed a reciept- come to find out they didnt charge his card, but charged mine. I call them a day later to inform them and instead of refunding me the money they charged me again and then charged my husband as well. Tried several times to speak to the manager but they always had a reason i couldnt speak to her. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
T snowed during our stay and I have to stay the staff worked vigilantly to make sure the walkways and parking area were safe for everyone. We have stayed at this location many times over the years and wouldnt stay anywhere else in the area. The only trouble we have had is with the Internet. One suggestion would be to remind the cleaning service that the bathrooms need to be thoroughly cleaned.
I checked in after 1am to a lobby full of drunk people. The front desk Attendent was getting abused by a drunk guy. I didnt get a warm welcome. The room was nice and clean. Had to walk up stairs to the second floor. Breakfast was the normal forComfort inn. I will be booking somewhere else next time I am in area even if i have to drive more.
It was very clean and everyone was friendly. The breakfast was good. The beds were very comfortable and very clean. The room overall was very neat and clean. The bathroom was very clean. We stayed on the first floor which was very convenient for my 81 year old mother. The staff were all very friendly and check out was a breeze.
We were disappointed to find that our non-smoking room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. This hotel levies a $250 charge if you smoke in the room, but apparently it is not enforced. I had to ask twice for something to kill the odor in the room. It gave me a headache.Otherwise, the room was very clean and very nice and very quiet, even though it was totally booked that night. The beautiful whirlpool tub was non operable, which was a dissappointment but not a huge deal.We are not at all fond of FOX news and the TV defaulted to it and FOX news was playing all the time in the lobby. That was a huge tune off.
A major factor in my decision to choose to stay at your property over any other hotel was the extremely helpful, pleasant and professional manner in which Ms. Natasha Gilbert handled my telephone inquiries. She answered my questions, secured the best possible accommodations available and then worked to change my reservation when a room opened up that was more suitable for my needs. I know she was busy, but all throughout the process she never once made me feel like a was inconveniencing her. Natasha got me off to a good start and then it all continued in positive fashion thanks to the rest of the excellent staff and your top-notch facility! The check out process was seamless! We will be back!
The staff was very courteous and hospitable. The rooms are clean and well maintained. We did not have the time nor the opportunity to enjoy the pool or other accommodations but we are very very pleased that it was a dog friendly property !! We will deftly stay here again!!
This hotel smelled like cigarette smoke, the noise was awful, and the air unit in our room didnt work. There was a drunk guy loitering around the hotel, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable and the room was nothing to brag home about. The entire experience was lacking and I am grateful that we only had to spend one night.
After driving for 10 hours in the rain, fog, and snow I was able to sit back and relax in my room. Since I travel with my dogs I always find it hard to let them out to play. Here I was able to take them out back and just let them play. The hotel was quite every night and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Overall, this hotel in Bellefontaine is better than your other choice in the town. Breakfast lacked a little, but the room was clean and comfortable. We have relatives in the area and do not want to throw ourselves on them so we stay here all the time. If Comfort Inn only charged around $60.00 - $70.00 a night it would be ideal, after all most people are just looking for a bed to sleep in for the night and not stay all day in hotel. Whatever you do, do not travel 20 miles down the road to the Comfort Inn in Marysville.
Literally, if you need to stay in Bellefontaine, this hotel is the best In town. The staff is helpful and housekeeping really makes an effort to keep the rooms clean. It is a no smoking hotel and that was definitely a plus. While the hotel shows signs of age it is holding up okay. There are some common sense things that could be done by way of improvements. For example, at the back entrance is a parking spot next to a handicap spot which is also next to the walk way into the hotel. When someone parks there it blocks the entrance into the hotel.
I have been staying at this Comfort Inn for the last 7 years and in that time they have remodeled twice. I find the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to my family and to town. It has an exercise room and an outside pool. It also has a bar if you wanted a drink. The breakfast is okay but I usually leave very early so only get coffee.
The bar gives less than the bare minimum for a drink. My friends and I went on New Years Eve and we got the worst drinks you could get. I paid 5.50 for a coke, but I ordered a Jack and Coke. I dont know about the hospitality portion of the place, but the bar isnt worth the irritation.
I stayed at the comfort Inn where I always stay when I visit Bellefontaine. They are the best hotel in town. They have been adding improvements to their services and hopefully will continue to upgrade in the future. The staff and housekeeping are very accommodating and helpful.
We own or own business and travel a lot which involves staying at various hotels. We arechoice privilege members and we stay at random Comfort Inns. Weve been staying here for the last 5 yrs. The staff treat us like royalty. The location is peaceful, with a great staff, its the cleanest most comfortable place Ive ever stayed and the rates are so reasonable. I compare every Comfort Inn to the Bellefontaine Comfort Inn and there is no comparison. I love it here!!
My wife and I rarely stay in motels. Most of travels are at timeshare resorts where the amenities are more like home and are mostly higher end experiences. Without that context we would have rated everything with 10s. With all the distasteful things that we hear about motels in general, we were very pleased with what the Comfort Inn in Bellefontaine, OH provided us for our trip to our friends wedding. If ever in the area again, we would definitely return to this Comfort Inn. All the staff were very nice to us.
Has two floors but no elevator so if you have problems you may want to avoid. Was offered no assistance to get luggage up stairs. when I came back from dinner police were talking to people outside hotel. had no room because they claimed that one half of hotel was shut down due to water main brake.
Im not sure what I expected from a sub $100 hotel, but Comfort Inn found a way to disappoint. Everything in the room was mildly damp from humidity, and the bathroom was not very clean. The bathtub had visible grime built up in the corners. I will definitely not return to any Comfort Inn again.
We unfortunately did not stay here but always find all Comfort Inns great to stay at. Thank you to Mary Lou and her manager for their understanding for my wifes safety at the time. Humanity is not lost here, and if we are ever in the area again; then me and my family know where to stay for sure.
Arrived there Saturday evening and came to the front desk and nobody was there. Waited about 10 min and knocked on the office door but no attendant. Finally i went to the bar and asked the bar tender and she said shell come and help find the innkeeper. She came out and we started looking for him when he finally walks in the side door. He said he was busy.I stayed in room 201 and was awakened by loud voices at 2 am. i went to take a shower and it was broken with water spraying all over the bathroom and of course then i noticed the bathtub was filthy dirty and so were the bathroom floors.I never got a shower since the hotel was sold out , they couldnt switch rooms. I was told the manager will contact me, oh well he never did that either. Would have been worth to drive another 20 miles for a clean room. As a Hilton Diamond member, I dont think Choice Hotels is getting my business anytime soon. (ouch)
The floors throughout were dirty and the room smelled bad. The price was high for what we received, most definitely. And the internet service was terrible. Breakfast was good though. I would have asked for a refund and left if I thought they would have given me my money back.
I have stayed in Bellefontaine quite a bit over the past several decades. Early on I used Comfort Inn but the facility was not well maintained, it was sometimes not clean, and the carpets were often very worn. But the primary reason for my discontent was the noise from the bar. Consequently we switched to the other local alternative despite the fact that it was not as nice. After many years and growing discontent with the alternative we decided to try Comfort Inn once again. Despite a busy bar off the lobby our room was quiet and comfortable. We will definitely make it our home-away-from-home in Bellefontaine in the future.

2022-06-18The exterior of the building looks beautiful, and its off the main road far enough that it feels quite secluded whichbwas nice. The staff we interacted with werent overly hospitable (with the exception of one kind gentleman at the front desk.) Our room was quite dated, which would have been fine if it was clean. It just kept getting worse the closer we looked and the longer we stayed. The bedding had various stains including blood. The mattresses themselves are extremely uncomfortable. There is dust on most surfaces, and our bath tub had a layer of soap scum on it. The bathroom waste basket has dried blood in it and something else splattered on the side of it. We came for a quick family vacation close to home and while the area has a lot to offer.... we wont be returning to lodge here. There is clearly a large issue with management of this hotel. We did ask for clean linens and they were delivered to our door, but it shouldnt have happened in the first place.

2022-06-27From my understanding there is only two hotels to choose from and this was the lesser of the evil! The beds were lumpy and sloping towards the head board, very uncomfortable. We were not able to actually swim in the pool. My one daughter got in to only be swarmed immediately by about 70 other people and our chairs and table taken over with boom boxes and other people stuff. When I asked what was going on there was a birthday party taking place, but then we stayed there for two nights and this never ended. The pool was suppose to close at 10 pm, but we could hear the music and loud noises in our room until way after midnight. Then the police were there when we checked in. Then again later that night when I went out to smoke. You could hear every foot step cough, laugh screaming teenage child in that place in your room. ALL NIGHT LONG!! We were exhausted when we came home from no sleep. The staff was nice. But the actual hotel is LOUD.

2022-01-02The staff is excellent, they are very courtesy.!!The bed was comfy. The room was very clean. The water pressure in the room was great. Most hotels Ive stayed in have poor pressure. The hotel was decorated inside and out for Christmas, very inviting!

2022-06-02Positive: Clean room, lobby, breakfast area, and outside. Comfy beds and pillows. Comfy desk w/chair and extra chair. Clean fridge & microwave. Free Breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, coffee, juice, oatmeal packets. Negative: No one staffed the desk. Each of the three times I stopped at the desk I had to wait for someone to approach, and there was no bell to ring or any other way to let someone know I was waiting.

2022-03-15Positive: The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was rated 2 stars and I feel that is an appropriate rating. Nothing fancy, but it was a place to stay for a night and have a free breakfast.

2022-05-01Hotel was not the cleanest. Curtains do not close and the outdoor lighting shines on you while you try to sleep. Was on edge all night due to people in and out walking the parking lot and looking in our room window as they walked by.The people staying above us were jumping around and having a party.Worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at especially for the rate for a room. Do yourself a favor and book at the super 8 across the bridge.

2022-05-10Positive: Whirlpool tub Negative: Breakfast was not as advertised. Staff said truck delivering food did not arrive. Poor excuse - should be enough food on hand to cover this

2022-04-27Positive: Convenient location Negative: Very odd but the microwave in my room wasnt plugged in. Had to pull it out and set on the desk in order to use it because I couldnt reach to plug it in behind the cabinetry.
