Very very disappointed at this place. Stayed 2 nights. While the room itself was very clean and the pool was very nice, the a/c was musty, the window had a broken lock on it (I had a first floor room) and I lost track how many times I had to constantly log back to get internet service. Throw in the door lock sometimes did not engage and in many many cases I had to swipe 3-4 times just to get into the room! Very limited breakfast offerings. If youre going to charge $175+ a night for room, you gotta do better.
This hotel is in need of us serious refurbishment. Very strong odor and the rooms from the cleaning chemicals used. No effort was made to reduce the odor prior to guest arrival.Front desk service was very helpful in locating a room that was less offensive, but still had an odor.
I was there for a family funeral. The rooms were clean and the service was great. Although, my experience was over all good, I was charged for an extra room after my rooms were canceled with booking.com. So I am now waiting on the manager to contact. Also the manager has up until Monday to reach out to me even though my check out was saturday. Thank God for online banking.
Very nice pool, staff was very attentive and always available. Everyone was smiling. The rollaway I requested was already waiting for us in the room. That usually never happens. you usually have to ask hotel staff two or three times for anything, but not at this hotel. There were Fresh towels at the pool, everything was clean. The breakfast experience was probably the best. It WAS a hotel breakfast, so it wasnt five star quality however, it was very good. The lady was constantly cleaning, all the hot food was hot, the cold food was cold, it was very well-stocked, employees always had a smile and were very attentive. I could tell these employees cared about their jobs and it showed. The employees at this hotel is what made the experience so good. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Our family had a weekend getaway and were blown away by the experience we had. The room was clean and spacious. From the check in to departure we were treated like family. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. Front desk associate was courteous, we even spoke with the General manager who suggested a nearby winery for us to visit and the housekeepers were friendly. The pool and spa were well maintained and the water temperature was perfect. Breakfast was awesome from the waffles to the bacon. The attendant made sure that things remained available especially considering the amount of guests enjoying breakfast. We will definitely stay there again. Thanks for the great stay!
Because of the elevator and hot tub not working correctly I would give this a fair rating. The hotel was very clean inside and we were happy that we could bring our pet. The breakfast was excellent, a big plus for the hotel. I would have given this an excellent rating if the elevator had been working correctly and the hot tub working correctly.
Beds were comfortable but room was not clean. Bottom of tub was brown, wallpaper was peeling and light was rusty from lack of ventilation in bathroom, and corners of bathroom were black. Our puppy found a plastic fast food drink lid left in the room from a previous guest and some sort of electronic scale under the ottoman (I thought it was a cell phone). Management was kind and sympathetic and did offer another room however we were already unpacked, it was after midnight and we were exhausted. The beds were clean and thats all we needed at that moment. We were told the room is occupied during the week by construction workers and they didnt have time to deep clean. (What? With covid?) I was upset because we were charged $150 for the night (we had two dogs) and the room was not worth $150. In the end, management was fair. I wouldnt stay again.
Absolutely excellent customer service. The room is spotless and very well stocked. Beds are plush and comfortable. Ive never felt sheets so smooth! Lobby is welcoming, pool area is clean, perfect temperature. The continental breakfast, was an actual breakfast! Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit, yogurt, different types of cereal, your choice of juice. Were from Washington state ands made a last minute reservation after an accident, they were easy to work with and accommodating. If we ever pass through again we WILL stay here!
I stayed here one night as I traveled to and from a destination over the holidays. The first night - Christmas Eve - was absolutely fabulous. In my room was a little treat bag thanking me for being a choice member. The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel quiet. The front desk people were awesome and helpful despite having to work on Christmas Eve. The hotel felt like a safe location and plenty of choices of food for dinner. The morning breakfast was great and the Christmas morning staff were so pleasant! On my return January 1-2 - not as spectacular.... which is why a 4 star.... if I could give 4.5 I would. They did not actually have the type of room available I had reserved so they upgraded me - but the room set up was not as comfortable as I prefer; the temperature was harder to manage; the staff were nice but not as nice; and no treat bag.... It is hard to live up to the great experience I had the first night I guess. The bigger problem on the second stay, which was out of the control of the hotel staff, was there were other pets in the building and I heard them off and on all night. I travel with a dog so I appreciate that there is a risk of this. The hotel staff came up immediately when I called but the owners were not nearly as responsible as I expect of dog owners. I dont know the solution to this. I imagine if there were guests there who did not travel with dogs they were probably not very happy either.
Online check in process was painless. Upon arrival front desk staff very friendly and had us checked in within 5 minutes. We had called for an early check-in and were told our room was already available. The king suite was well organized and had plenty of room to spread out. We had a pet with us and there was ample room for all.Very clean, nice pool area and although we visited the local town for Breakfast, the eating area was also clean and well kept. Nice place for a two night stay while in town for a wedding. Very satisfied.
This hotel is wonderful - and especially so if youre traveling with (well-behaved) pets! Friendly, big rooms, great amenities! However, we received notes at 9:30 one morning and 9:00 another morning, telling us that they would not service our rooms because we still had the do not disturb sign on the door. We were actually on our way out of the room when we got the first one and stopped at the room next door to ask housekeeping to take care of our room! She agreed, but then didnt do anything - we came back to the room exactly as we left it. We had better luck the second time - we stopped at the front desk and asked them to have our room serviced and it worked. Just not sure why they do this. Id understand if it were later in the day, but 9:00 AM isnt an unreasonable time to be leaving a hotel room (we were on vacation!). Weird.Otherwise, the hotel is fine, and exactly what we expected - clean, neat, good amenities, friendly staff, nice location (near restaurants, the expressway, etc.), and a decent price.
This was our first trip to the Fremont area and we were more than pleased with our stay at this Comfort Inn. Staff friendly and very professional. Room was very clean and nicely appointed. A little attention to detail would help. Stains on the comforter should be taken care of (found one large stain that should have caught someones eye) and the same half empty coffee cup was on the table in the lobby from check in at 5pm until the next morning. Little things that werent awful, but should have caught someones attention. Didnt totally detract from my overall impression of the hotel. Breakfast area was neat and well attended. Breakfast was more than you would need to start your day or prepare you for getting on the road. Selections were good and the staff was very attentive to detail. Overall, we would stay here again.
We loved this hotel. Everyone we worked with was helpful and friendly. The entire hotel was spotless, the rooms were spacious, beds were comfy with lots of pillow, bathroom was updated and it looks like there were brand new rugs in the room. Connecting to the Internet was very easy and great connection speed. A really nice touch was the complimentary bag of snacks & bottled water in the room. We will definitely stay here again if our travels take us through this area.
We spent two nights at this hotel. Room was mostly quiet, but we did hear voices from the room next door and footsteps from the room above. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. Free wireless worked well and TV channel selection was good. Breakfast was OK but the powdered eggs were not good at all.
This is a great location -about 20 minutes from Port Clinton. Well maintained grounds and exceptionally clean. We were traveling with our pet so the first floor room was perfect! Nice comfy pillows and bed-would definitely recommend staying here! Breakfast was delicious!
This hotel was one of the best we have stayed at. As a family of five stopping for a good nights sleep after 13 hours of driving, comfort and cleanliness were the most important features. We had requested a roll away bed in advance and were assured wed have one, but upon arrival we did not. We called down to the desk and the staff was very apologetic and brought the bed to the room within minutes. The beds were super comfortable and the pillows were labeled for extra ease in choosing the right comfort level. I was very impressed with the water pressure in the shower as it was just what I needed after the long drive. Breakfast the next morning was more than I expected and the staff was ever present to help with whatever we needed. She was constantly replenishing items and supplies to ensure their freshness. We only stayed here as a stopping place, but were extremely satisfied and will stay there again.
Last minute decision to spend NYE in Port Clinton for the Walleye Drop left us looking for a place to stay with the kids (teens). Having been pretty disappointed in a Comfort Suites in Southern Ohio last year, we felt like it was a dice roll but again, last minute... price was great and rooms available so we went for it and it was a GREAT decision! Hotel staff was very pleasant. Room was very comfortable though a touch noisy as it was next to the housekeeping room. Beds were DEVINE! Pool and hot tub were great. The heated pool was actually heated-- uncommon that the adults were able to re-enter the pool after being in the hot tub without freezing. Very nice! Decent breakfast and speedy checkout. Lovey quick getaway. Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was a little tired. Hot tub didnt work. Sheets sounds like your sleeping on plastic. Carpets in rooms, hallways and elevator were heavily stained and needed a good cleaning. Breakfast was pretty good but the room was small. Overall it was ok for the money.
I thought that the rooms were not was nice as they have been in years past. They were not dirty but they smelled musty, moldy and stuffy. I do feel like the rooms are very out dated. The housekeeping staff was excellent. We did not get our rooms cleaned but did ask the housekeeping staff for towels, soaps, etc and they were all very nice, professional and helpful.Honestly, I do not know if we will stay at this hotel during our next visit to Fremont, although the hotel is decent, I dont feel like it is worth what we paid and feel like we might be able to get ,ore of a bang for our buck at a different hotel.
The staff was just there no real interaction with them. The property needs a face lift very out dated and the carpet were stained. There was trash on the floor in the same place as the first day we arrived. The ice machine did not work on our floor. This hotel has seen better days.
A very nice Hotel, clean, quiet. Beds are tooooo comfortable. The continental breakfast is what we like. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you didnt want the air conditioner on, we could open up our window for fresh air, which is what we like. We had guests in our room, and they too had commented on how nice the Hotel was and the area, the highways( turnpike) were close to get on. The shopping outlets were across the street, within walking distance as were the restaurants too, overall wed stay there again.
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderfully helpful in providing information and direction to the local movie theater. The beds were comfy though the room was rather small. The bed and the comfy chair were touching due to lack of space. Breakfast was excellent. The only issue we had was that the pool was very cold. I pick hotels based on their pools for my young son and this was very difficult to use. Its a nice pool room too, if it just had a little heat to it.
I was totally impressed with my stay at Comfort Inn Fremont. The lobby was clean and very well maintained. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I typically dont expect much with other hotel breakfasts, but the breakfast at the Comfort Inn Fremont was great!! Biscuits, Gravy, REAL BACON!!!, Eggs, Fruits, Waffles, Pastries, Breads, Cereal, and a wide selection of beverages. The breakfast far exceeded my expectations. While Im on the subject of exceeding expectations the Fast Access internet was FAST!!! I ran a speed test and the results were outstanding. This really makes a difference while on a business trip and working from the hotel. The room I stayed in was excellent condition. It was modern, neat, and very clean. I can definitely tell the housekeeping staff takes great pride in their work. Overall, I was very impressed with the overall experience. This is the only hotel I plan to stay in for my future trips to Fremont, OH. Sincerely,Gary
We traveled for the 4th of July weekend after reading many reviews of hotels in the area I was happy to find the room was very clean. Although I would say the beds were more like full beds instead of queen beds. When we checked in the staff didnt seem like they wanted to be bothered. We arrived around 7pm and were trying to find something to eat at the gentleman at the front desk just told me that the had a lot of taco bells. We really didnt want to eat fast food but didnt have much of a choice a that point without driving around on our own. I also tried to ask the front desk where the closest place was where I could purchase milk (we were traveling with a toddler) and he told me well there is a Walmart down the road. I had to ask him again a second time specifically where it was and how to get there. He was not helpful at all during our entire stay. Most of the staff did not even greet you as you came into the door. The breakfast was the same every morning so I would rate that as average. The food wasnt bad but it never changed it was the same biscuits & gravy, eggs, bacon, cereal, etc. every morning. I would say overall we were happy with our room.
Hotel was nice. The people at the front desk were very nice and friendly . Breakfast was great. The room was nice. The refrigerator door would not stay shut but that was because one of the shelves was in backwards which prevented the door from closing. The beds were comfortable. I had a very nice overnight stay.
I stayed at the Fremont Comfort Inn for 3 nights and found the experience exceptional. Room was well designed, spotless and comfortable. The entire hotel looked and smelled clean. Breakfast was great and the space was sufficient for the hotel size. Breakfast was provided by a friendly person who kept the area well stocked. I did not think the scrambled eggs tasted real, but they were acceptable and I ate some everyday anyway. I found the maid service exceptional. I have not had a more satisfying stay in a motel for the price range. The business plan for Comfort Inn fits my travel needs very well and seems to be well executed. I dont want a lot of luxury and I dont want to pay for luxury I do not need, but I want clean and efficient.
We stayed 3 nights. The room was clean and comfortable and had nice beds. Its a smaller hotel, so it wasnt too loud. There is easy access to several major roads and conveniences nearby. We stayed here because of convenience to Port Clinton, Fremont, and nearby towns where we visited family. Hot breakfast was just right and there were hot and cold beverages and cookies served all day. Perfect as we were in and out during most days. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Have stayed here in past and will again.
Stayed here 2 nights during August on a recent family trip to Cedar Point. Paid half of what it would have cost to be near the park, with only a 45 minute drive. Staff was great, room nice and clean, and included a nice buffet breakfast with a good variety. Also had a pool with mostly open hours, so great way for the kids to have some fun without leaving the property.
Jason Hawkins and his staff do a great job of maintaining the property and making their guests feel welcome. The rooms and common areas are always clean and well maintained, and the staff is always friendly and eager to answer any questions you may have. The hotels location is convenient to dining, shopping, the Ohio Turnpike and US Rt 20 & US Rt 6,making this hotel convenient for travelers not only to Fremont but to Sandusky and Cedar Point, Port Clinton, Catawba and the Lake Erie Islands. Great price for the value!
The lovely woman working the front desk offered us a free room upgrade after we had some trouble reserving a room using the rewards program. The room was great! It was a king jacuzzi room, the jacuzzi was large, clean, and worked well. The room was large and clean, the bed comfortable. If we ever pass through town again we will stay here again.
Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel. There is a need to update the lighting in upstairs hallways, does seem very dark. The elevator system is very slow, but functional. My grandsons, their guests and I spent two nights at this location and we plan to be back next summer!
I recently stayed here while on business. I stay here once a month or more. The staff is great to deal with and the motel is very nice. Jason does a super job as manager and the front desk staff is great . I’m always up super early and Brittany does a super job of having coffee on and greeting me. Things like that make a huge difference when you travel every week.
The staff is excellent. Very helpful and friendly. Surprisingly it goes down hill from there though. Our room was filthy and had a strange odor. There was hair from a previous guest on the floor and wall. Needed to be cleaned and vacuumed for sure!!Breakfast was a standard. Nothing special. Yet not bad either. The pool was really cold. A indoor pool should be fairly warm and inviting. This one not even close. Hot tub was Luke warm at best.
Rooms looked to be upgraded - nice contemporary paint color and furnishings. Lighting great with abundant lamps. Bedding nice although mattress too soft. Stayed on first floor, so easy access to exits. New bathtub in my room, so was nice and hot water immediately - no long wait for the shower water to heat up. Water pressure great. However, “exercise room” a joke - the size of a small walk in closet.
This hotel was very clean. Staff was very helpful, very attentive. Location was good with gas stations, shopping, and restaurants very close by. About 20 minutes away is Port Clinton, which was our destination. Pool area was very clean, water not cold but the hot tub was not hot and was very hard to turn on. Breakfast buffet was very good. Will definetly stay here again.
The staff was great, helpful in every way. The location was convenient. The bed was comfortable w/ nice pillows. The bathroom was less than clean. There wasnt an exhaust fan. Just seemed run down. You could hear anyone passing or standing in the hall. The walls were thin enough that you could hear the people in the other rooms. Our luck was that our room was right near the elevator, so were heard every conservation too and from everyones room plus the elevator and ice machine noise.
The staff is excellent but that is about all that is. There is little sound proofing in the walls and you can easily hear the neighboring rooms. This hotel is pet friendly which is great for pet owners but not for others. The first night I was there, two dogs barked and howled until just after 11pm.The breakfast is on par with most other hotel chains offerings, a little variety would be welcome.
We had a wonderful stay! Unfortunately, our van broke down on the turnpike but the towing company recommended the hotel and they were absolutely wonderful to us. We received a reduced rate and they even accommodated our dog. We ended up staying 3 days and 2 nights waiting on parts and for our van to be fixed and the staff was amazing to us. I cant say thank you enough for their patience, cooperation and understanding of our situation. They made what could have been a horrible experience easier to deal with and bearable.
The desk clerk was helpful as we were in town for a funeral and she let us check in a little early. We did not return to the hotel until 9:30 pm after the visitation when my husband turned on the bathroom sink faucet and the pipe underneath starting leaking heavily. He actually tightened it enough to get by himself as the night clerk offered to move us to another room but we were very tired and just wanted to go to sleep. When the heat came on there was a very loud noise that kept waking us up. The breakfast was typical for this type of hotel which was ok. Overall I was hoping for a better experience.
Excellent room, we got the family suite with a jacuzzi tub. Service was friendly, which cant be said of all the hotels in the area. Continental breakfast was good; it was hot and fresh with a lot of options. The pool and hot tub was awesome since we were traveling with kids aged 1-10.
The room was very old and cramped and had a huge wooden closet in the middle of the room which made it not very comfortable. The Breakfast room was nice and had a very nice variety of foods. fresh and delicious. The pool was large and clean. it was hard to get to the room as you had to walk around several corners, down halls and then finally an elevator to get to your room. not very easy for someone with a cane and walking problems.
We have stayed here on several occasions, and really like this hotel. The people are friendly and helpful, the room is spacious, and the hotel provides everything we need (towels, toiletries, hairdryer, convenient outlets for charging phones, and so forth). Highly recommend this hotel!
I have to say that I was very impressed with this hotel, the staff and the atmosphere. Upon checking in, we were greeted right away and the staff was excellent the entire time. Housekeeping, the front desk, the breakfast server and maintenance were all very friendly. The pool and hot tub are open 24 hours a day! We were offered a free day pass to the local YMCA which is included with your stay. The breakfast offered a large variety of hot and cold foods and was more than sufficient. The room was clean and linens and toiletries were restocked daily. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we are back in the area.
We have been staying at this hotel for years, mainly at the end of July, for a yearly family reunion. Over all this is a great place to stay, but a few issues this year.1) Mold on the ceiling in the bath tub area.2) Missing grout/cracked tile on the bathroom floor.3) Bathroom door swings open on its own if not latched, needs adjusted.4) Access to toilet paper is a lengthy reach. Short arms will have a problem. There were good things, too.1) Good refrigerator and freezer. it kept our ice packs frozen for the next day at the reunion.2) You have the option of soft or firm pillows. We will be coming back to this area in about 3 weeks, but since this room was not up to our standards, we will be booking at the Holiday Inn Express to try it out.
The hotel and staff made our group overnight stay a pleasure. The rooms were awesome - very recently updated, comfortable, quiet and clean. The hotel delivered everything you hope and expect (but dont always get with hotels)! Jason promptly responded to advance questions and we were warmly greeted at check-in. There were many restaurant options within walking distance or a short drive from the property and the hotel breakfast was a treat. The group would definitely return!
Overall, the hotel was decent. We were travelling with 2 adults and 2 small children. The room had too much stuff/furniture. There was barely room to move and the furniture wasnt practical for use. The continental breakfast was good. Lots of options and good food. The pool was FREEZING! My daughter played in the hot tub instead because she was shivering so bad in the pool. Room was not cleaned or stocked on the holiday. I was okay with this but feel the room should have been overstocked ( toilet paper etc) the day before.
Great staff. Jason (a manager) is fantastic. Love the comfy bedding. Nice pool....actually large enough to swim laps in (very appreciated). Good breakfast items....great bacon and love the availability of hard boiled eggs and oatmeal (nice to have healthy options!).This is our go to stopping point en route to vacationing in Michigan. Its quiet but near everything, esp Port Clinton and Put-in-Bay. Well be back!
The hotel is in a great location compared to the others near the Turnpike Exit. It is walking distance to many restaurants and a very large Walmart. The many times I have stayed here the staff has always been top notch. The rooms are clean and everything works. There is good variety of food at breakfast.
Went to this Comfort Inn for a yearly family birthday celebration. Weve been at a few different hotels throughout the years but this one was by far the friendliest staff, coziest rooms, best pool/hut tub experience yet. The breakfast food was cooked perfectly and the meeting room was a value for the money for sure. Everyone had a fun and comfortable time.
Our room was large and our king size bed was comfortable. For some reason they gave us a handicapped accessible room, which was ok, but not a request or a preference. Being on the first floor near the breakfast room was a little noises than elsewhere since people like to hang out there. The one problem with our shower was seam where the unit fits together was not as clean as I would like. The free breakfast was very good and included bacon and scrambled eggs not just muffins and juice. The hotel benefits from the many summer tourists visiting nearby attractions. This room was more reasonably priced than others and overall good quality. I would definitely stay there again-but I would ask for the 2nd floor to avoid the noise of the breakfast room.
We had a very good stay. Staff was helpful, friendly, very efficient. Room was quite large and well-equipped. Chair and ottoman in room were excellent quality and most welcome. Bed was perfect. Asked for a quiet area of hotel and that request was granted. Restaurant recommendation was a good one and it was located adjacent to hotel. We would stay here again.
As a parent traveling alone with three kids, safety and cleanliness are my two biggest considerations. We were comfortable in every way. The pool area was extremely well-kept, and thats where many other hotels fall short. Our room was comfortable and spotless. The only down side was that it was on the high end of our price range.
Luxurious bed linens, slept great, very clean, helpful and professional staff, numerous choices for breakfast and all very good. Free paper, cookies at bedtime. Felt pampered, they accommodated our request for a first floor room. Allowed us to check in early and check out late due to commitments. Great choice and lovely small town. We are looking forward to visiting your motel again! Thank you!
I just wasted an hour on the computer trying to print papers and the printer wasn’t even working. No one of course there could help me and the manager is not in till Tuesday and today is Friday. The computer was so slow that I would sit there and type and it won’t even be typing. I needed to print paperwork for work but now I just have to leave the hotel that I paid $160 for to go print someplace else. It’s 9 PM so I’m not sure where I’m actually going to go to get anything printed especially when I don’t know anything around here
Jason and his staff are always a pleasure! I wouldnt stay anywhere else when I travel home to Fremont. What I like the most is the interaction Jason has with his guests. He makes you feel important and not just like a customer. Rashe made sure our area was clean and greeted my party with a smile every time! The hotel is undergoing renovations but you wouldnt know it. As they are working on one floor, they ensure that patrons arent bothered by the remodeling. The upgrades are spectacular and I fully recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Fremont or any of the surrounding areas! The price is just right as this hotel has competitive pricing for our Military! Im returning in a couple of months! Kudos to this property!
We stayed at this hotel because it was the most reasonably priced in the area, however while friendliness and service was good, cleanliness and quality lacked. The food at the breakfast was average at best while the cleanliness was questionable for the stay. The shower floor was stained black, the toilet was stained and scratched and the floor had multiple rust stains. The quality of the bathroom made the cleanliness of the rest of the room and hotel even more questionable.
Our room had a horrible smell when we arrived. Since we were entertaining our kids friends, it was embarrassing. However, the hotel fixed it quickly by changing the room for another. However, we were no longer next to each other. As a Choice Rewards member, we were happy to receive two snacks and waters in each room. Overall a good experience. We were told Cedar Point was only 30 minutes away, but its actually 40 minutes away. Parking at Cedar Point is $20.
Everything about our stay was great. The pool was warm and open 24 hrs. Good for our group because we arrived after 10 pm and a swim was very nice. There was also a fitness room. The continental breakfast was excellent and I was impressed with how clean and well stocked it was. Everyone was very nice and we will be going there again whenever we are in town.
Stayed here without a reservation when my car broke down on I-80 just outside of Fremont. First time ever booking my own hotel, and it was easy and painless. Front desk clerks were friendly and helpful. Nice pool. The hot tub was the perfect temperature, but the chlorine was a bit too strong and stung my eyes. Very clean and tidy room, complete with an HDTV and a good channel selection. Quiet neighbors made sleeping easy, along with good climate control. Not exactly breakneck speeds on the wireless network, but more than adequate for my work needs. I never felt intimidated or unwelcome. The continental breakfast had quite a selection to choose from. You also get 10% off one bill at a few of the nearby restaurants, including the B-Dubs across the street. Also a stones throw away from a Walmart, in case youve forgotten anything. Id definitely stay again!
The facility is well maintained, clean rooms and have an especially nice breakfast that was very well maintained by the attendant. Check in went smoothly and the staff was courteous. While this location is not as convenient to some of the activities we planned on Lake Erie, it a great compromise for value and location compared to more expensive but less clean motels we have visited. There are several nice restaurants an easy drive or even within walking distance. The security was good with looking exterior doors and well lit parking.
We enjoyed our stay here, very clean, wonderful staff, luxurious bed linens, free parking, free paper, cookies at bedtime, quiet, numerous choices for breakfast and very good. Lovely small town, enjoyed President Hayes home, grounds and museum very much. A short drive from town is Mull Covered Bridge, built in 1851 listed on the National Registry of Historic places. Staff recommended The Garrison for supper and it was wonderful. Enjoyed the pampering at Body and Sole Spa. Very nice trip.
We were very glad to get a group rate for the dozen or so of us who stayed there for the weekend. Breakfast was included, but was not very tasty. Fresh fruit was appreciated, but otherwise, the food quality was nothing special. But the fact that it was free is acknowledged. We appreciated that we were allowed to bring our bicycles into our rooms for safe keeping when we werent out riding. I would be willing to stay at this motel again in the future, but I do hope that the next time, my rooms TV will NOT turn itself on during the night when I am trying to get some sleep!
This Inn is a great pleasure to visit, the staff and management top-notch, and the ample rooms above grade for Comfort Inn and Suites. I have stayed here often on business, wherein the experience has been so excellent as to make this a virtual home away from home. If any slight improvement could be made, it would be installing a full kitchen (local ordinance permitting), for better eggs and biscuits. Still, the breakfasts are quite palatable, and one is not expecting the Biltmore or Chicagos Ambassador. Between the locations surrounding retail & restaurants, the friendliness, and the accommodations, this is a value as good as one gets in mid-grade Inns.
We were very pleased with our room; It was the nicest room we have stayed in recently and the price made it affordable for us as retirees. We appreciated the comfortable chair, and the mattress and pillows were wonderful. We will definitely be returning next year to enjoy your facility and the many vacation highlights in the area, especially the access to great bicycle trails!
We were attending a wedding for our son and new daughter-in-law.I made reservations in March for 8 rooms to accommodate family and friends coming from out of state to attend wedding.Hotel was centrally located to all areas we needed to be.Accommodations were wonderful! Staff was very professional.I will highly recommend this hotel to everyone that is going to this area of Ohio!Thank you
We have stayed at this hotel the past few years. This year we had a problem with the plumbing in our room. Jason the manager was quick to address the issue. We were upgraded to another room. The hotel staff were all very pleasant , and eager to help. We will continue to stay there in years to come. It is one of the best Choice Hotels we have ever stayed at.
The hotel was clean and neat on the outside and inside. The staff was very friendly and helpful.Since my last trip here (I have an annual meeting in Fremont) the quality of both the tv reception and internet access has gone down. The internet is slower and required multiple logins each day instead of staying logged in.The cable television reception was remarkable poor, looking like a bad antenna as opposed to cable.
The comfort Inn an suites is newly renovated. My room is fairly small. Traveled with my 3yr daughter,my wife and a small dog. They do allow pets. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast was free. Nothing to brag about. If you have had any comfort Inn breakfast. Its the same here.
What a great place to stay, staff is friendly and on their game!! Facility is modern, clean, fresh, and relaxing. Delicious and hearty breakfast bar with a super friendly hostess-loved the waffles!! All the amenities to make our stay a very enjoyable one. This is what brings your guests back affordable luxury with all the extras. Thank You!!
This hotel is top notch. It is very clean and well run. The check-in clerk was friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is within easy walking distance of a couple of restaurants, which is a very positive aspect when traveling by motorcycle, as I was during this stay. The buffet breakfast had a large selection of food and juices and enough available seating that no one was left standing.
Absolutely enjoyed our stay and loved that the pool was open around the clock. We came specifically for a weekend getaway with our kids to enjoy some swimming. We were very satisfied. The check in process was quick and smooth and the rooms were very clean and inviting. A very nice experience all the way around.
The staff was great and the motel very clean! The breakfast selection was good and food was fresh and plenty of it! We were greeted by smiles from everyone on the staff that we ran into from the front desk to the cleaning staff in the hall way. We will definitely will stay here next time we are up this way! Keep up the good work! 7/26/15
My biggest issue was extremely unprofessional front desk service. The girl was argumentative, with no problem solving or people skills. Hot tub was unclean with black build-up. The bottom of the shower in my room was desperate for a good scrubbing.Positives were the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good.
While the staff was pleasant, the room we stayed in was not. The drains in both the tub and sink were completely clogged. We did not take a shower until the next day and the tub filled up with gunk from previous guests... it was completely unsanitary. We did report this during check out and they said they would attend to it... We had stayed at a Hampton Inn the previous evening and the hotel was immaculate and less expensive than this Comfort Inn. It was certainly not worth the price. The carpeting as well was filthy and the bed sheets were wrinkled - you just have to hope they were changed!!
Hotel was fine, but felt run down, cramped and old. Room was cramped. Nightstand felt far away from bed, air conditioning unit was large and loud. Refrigerator froze some items. Breakfast was fantastic and staff was pleasant, but overall hotel just felt like it needed a good updating.
The room was nice and clean. They gave us complimentary snacks. The location is quiet but Walmart is directly across the street and other stores. I would recommend this place to anybody. I will be back. Also it’s only a 45 min drive to cedar park. The drive only feel like 20 mins though.
We stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites Fremont as an alternative to spending the night over on Put-in-Bay. It was just a short drive to the ferry and no multi-night minimum stay that you find out on the island. The rate was affordable and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly, rooms were clean, bed was comfy with choice of soft or firm pillows, and the breakfast had plenty of options. This place is highly recommended.
We stayed here a couple of months ago and had to travel from SC to a Funeral up in Fremont. Again, great booking via phone. Very friendly front desk staff. The only little thing was, the room was Ice Cold after traveling for many hours. Someone could have turned the heater, even on low, for the guest to arrive. It was snowing and in the single digits and a windchill of -4 or so. It took several hours for the room to get warm. The bedding was fantastic and the shower very very nice. Breakfast super and we will be back
This hotel is a gem. Clean, comfortable, with great staff to match. The many amenities were very welcome. Fantastic pool, nice array of breakfast choices (you gotta try the yummy bacon!), comfy beds. Fresh baked cookies, hard candies, and complimentary USA Today papers in lobby welcomed us at check in. Its a great pet friendly hotel in the Port Clinton area. A nice shopping area is right across the main drag in case youve forgotten anything. Showing your room key at local dining places gets a 10% discount. Its only a 15 min drive to Port Clinton. Much nicer than any hotels we found in the area. Our new go to hotel when in the Port Clinton vicinity. Youll love it too!!
The hotel was okay, but the room was not serviced while we were out that day. It was a holiday, but the rates are increased on high travel days and it does not make sense to pay more or even the same rate for a room if the full service of the hotel is not provided. I am a frequent customer of Choice Hotels, and this was a disappointing experience for me and my kids.
This was a very nice and clean hotel with a decent breakfast. We were in the area for a wedding / reception so we did not get back to the hotel til late, however, we were still able to enjoy time in the pool / hot tub because it is open 24 hours. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others staying in the Fremont area.
When i made the reservation online i called the hotel and let them know i was going to be a late check in and she said that was fine. Then i fine out that they put a hold on the card you reserve it with after 4pm even though i told them it was a late check in and she didnt write it down. So while on vacation i was $150 less what i thought i had and couldnt do somethings i wanted to because of it. The bathroom in my room needed repairs the fan didnt work which then made it very humid anytime i took a shower. The sink was very slow draining and the cold handle was ablut to fall off. Also the toilet would run all night if u didnt giggle the handle. I let the front desk know when i was checking out and all the lady said was thank you for letting us know. It was like she didnt even care that the hotel ruined 1 day of my vacation and the room was horrible. Best thing about the hotel was the hot breakfast and the indoor pool that never closed.
This hotel in Fremont Ohio was a quality accommodation in past years. However, the hotel is now below average in my opinion. It is in need of updating and cleaning. It also needs improvement in the plumbing, as the water pressure in the sinks cold water faucet in my room was almost non-existent. I have decided that I will not go back to this hotel until it is renovated. The best thing about the comfort Inn in Fremont is the staff: Excellent!
Staff was friendly and helpful. The woman in charge of breakfast did a great replenishing the food items, and kept it very clean .Shower and bed were comfortable Musty smell, previously smoking in non smoking room . I couldnt quite pin point other odor in hallway on the 3rd floor and rm 304. I am allergic to smoke. Would try it again hopefully they will remedy smell.
We were at this Comfort Inn for four nights due to funeral of family member. The staff was so gracious and helped with our room selection not only for us but for other family members when they had special needs and requests. In all our extended family had six reservations and all were made welcome and taken care of. We have stayed at this property many times over the past 10 years and they always help with whatever we need and make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you for all of your help and kindness!
Was in an auto accident on the turnpike and had to be towed. The tow truck would only take me to Fremont and this hotel accepted dogs. So he recommended here, and was sure they would have availability. Which maybe should be a warning. But I was stuck. So I checked in, explained the situation. The room was overpriced and smelled sour. They dont triple sheet.... odd. They put a double hold on my card, and couldnt explain why neither amount matched my bill when I checked out in the morning. They said a manager would need to answer, but was out, and would call me that day (they didnt). The correct amount finally went through. Overall, not recommended.
1. My room was located next to the elevators. It was loud and difficult for me to sleep. I was told no other rooms were available to move me to.2. There was some kind of problem with the AC. The room was either hot or frigid--no in between.3. I returned to my room mid afternoon one day to change clothes. The cleaning lady was in the room & asked to stay in the room to finish cleaning while I changed. I insisted she leave. The cleaning was not finished when I returned later in the day.4. My debit card was charged an additional $6.80 two days after I checked out. My investigation leads me to believe that this is an additional charge for a safe in my room, however hotel staff cannot confirm this. I did not ask for a room with a safe. I was given a room with a safe. I did not use the safe in the room. Furthermore, when I asked to change rooms because mine was poorly located, they were not able to accommodate me. I would not be charged a pet fee if I did not bring a pet into the hotel, I would expect that I should not be charged a fee for a safe if I did not use the safe.
Clean, comfortable rooms. A shopping plaza across the street. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Good internet access. Free breakfast with a good selection of items. And a staff willing to go the extra mile to help you out, from booking to check out. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who finds themselves looking for accommodations in the Fremont, Ohio, area.
I have been booking rooms for my staff and I for 3 and half years at Comfort Inn Fremont and I never have any complaints. The staff at this facility has been helpful, professional and reliable. The newer rooms and appearance of the hotel if very nice and when we couldnt stay at Comfort Inn in Fremont, they have contacted and made appointments with other Choice Hotels in the area. This is what keeps us coming back!
My 92 year old mother recently fell and broke her hip and we had to make an unplanned trip back to my hometown area. With no advance planning, we had to take our border collie Mac along for the trip and were pleased to find out that Comfort Inn does indeed allow pets. This was my first stay at a Comfort Inn, so I was not sure what to expect.Well, I will definitely be using Comfort Inn for my future hotel stays! we were greeted by very friendly staff at the reception desk, and after signing up for the rewards program, we were upgraded to a Jacuzzi room, That fabulous tub certainly helped ease the stress from a long road trip and the hospital visits. The room was impeccably clean, bed was comfortable, mini fridge and microwave were a big plus also! There was a nice grassy area for dog walking and Mac was comfortable in the room also.Perfect place and will definitely visit here again when needed!
This hotel served its purpose and offered a room rate for guests for the wedding we attended. It could use a makeover as it looks like it gets a lot of use. A routine walk through and examination of the guest rooms is in order to know what needs repairing or replacing. The staff or managers should enter as if a guest and see the rooms through the eyes of those who stay there.
We had a wonderful stay at the Comfort Inn in Fremont, Ohio. The room was delightful, the staff was friendly and efficient, and the complimentary breakfast far exceeded our expectations. Although we did not use any of the perks, we were impressed with the discount at area restaurants and the availability of a free day pass to the local YMCA. As we were leaving, I said to my husband, This is a fine example of what a small hotel can and should be.
Stayed one night, a Monday in late April, with another in a 2 Queen room.Great ability to walk in to reserve. Food and stores are across the street. Very receptive staff. Clean rooms, hot water, a decent fitness room for 1, and a full breakfast.Have to give this a 4 star due to the unconscionable noise made in the morning from the ice machine in the breakfast area. If staying again in another week from now or later, would drop the rating to a 3 if the ice machine is still so loud.
Dirty sheets are just unacceptable no matter how good or bad the stay thereafter. The bathroom, tables and fixtures all seemed clean, but after pulling the bedding back, I spotted multiple hairs and markings.Im Choice Diamond averaging 100 nights/year for four years. I can accept a (one) stray hair from housekeeping, but more than a handful of hairs and obvious markings proved this wasnt a questionable situation. It was after midnight so I decided to try my luck in a different room. That room was clean and the sheets were fresh. This hotel was about 20 minutes further than other Choice Hotels, but based on the ratings, I felt it worth the extra 40 minute commute/day for the two-night stay. It was not. Im not sure what happened as this hotel does have stellar reviews and ratings, but it happened and no steps were taken to rectify the situation.I mentioned the issue again at the time of check-out verifying the hotel had my contact information naively thinking someone would get in touch to apologize, but its been several weeks and no response.
It was wonderful to find such a clean, bright, friendly hotel! The room was spacious, the staff friendly and helpful! We travel with our dog and the accommodations couldnt have been nicer! It was so quiet, we felt as though we might be the only people there! Too bad we could stay only one night!
Bathroom cleanliness was not good. Toilet was grey in the bottom, looking like it had not been cleaned. The shower head had visible red and black mold growth all over it.Asked housekeeping to clean it. They did clean shower head but the toilet still looked grey, so i assume it was stained somehow. Also noticed that the exhaust fan was not working in the bathroom which might be the reason for the mold growth.
Im not sure about other hotels in this area, but I dont really feel like the rooms are on the same level as similarly priced hotels around the country. The room was fine, except for the ancient CRT TV. I was surprised to see a recliner in the room and I made good use of it. The continental breakfast was terrible. I think the batter they use for the waffles is just flour and water. The juice from the machine was water heavy, and the bakery items were kind of lame. Other than the breakfast, the Hotel stay was nothing to write home about.
Overall the hotel was great. It was modern, clean, nice and conveniently located to restaurants, shops, I-80, I90 and the OH Turnpike as well as close to Elmwood Assisted Living. The continental breakfast had a variety of food and drinks to choose from and the staff was welcoming and there to help if need be.
We wanted to go to the Peach Festival in Port Clinton but it was hard to find an affordable Hotel. We found this in Fremont and will definitely go back next year.It is close enough to get to, but far enough away to stay away from High Prices and noisy people! Loved it!
We had a very nice stay, the staff was all very friendly and helpful, our room was nice and comfy, and the value was good in comparison to other Choice hotels in the area. I chose this hotel because of the value and reviews of previous guests. I would stay again and recommend it to others I know.
Another great visit to the Fremont area. The kids and I enjoyed the pool, having a hot breakfast in the morning to start our day, and the convenient location close to other restaurants, shopping and the toll road. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Poor room quality(wasnt clean, had smelly odor and found bugs) Second room was better. Breakfast wasnt good(eggs were nasty, biscuits were hard and the gravy had a slight smell and discoloration to it) Had employee cleaning with smelly sprays and dusting directly behind me all while Im trying to eat my BREAKFAST.TOTALLY NOT THE TIME TO DO THIS. Check out was an experience all in its self(bill total wasnt correct and had a hard time getting that fixed but finally was).
Nice place appearance wise . the service of the place was poor the temp of hot tub was cold . every time you went to the front desk counter you had too practicly knock on it too get a reply . the only thing i wanted from breakfast was a small box of cereal it was so stale. I would never pay that much yup stay there again. The nicest person was the maintenance man!
Ordered two rooms for two nights. One room had food left on dressers and end tables, which made us unsure if rest of room is cleaned and sheets were changed. Staff set us up with a family suite, which worked for us even better, and charged us for one room as opposed to two, which saved me even more. Unfortunate issue that was handled excellently and professionally.
Danielle is more than accommodating, every morning this gem of a worker greets everybody as they step off the elevator, quickly directing them to the local attractions in the area. She has more than set the standard for fantastic staff, with helping us with any issues that may have occurred during our stay. I will be staying at this comfort inn and suites in the future!

2021-12-27Our car broke down on the tollway while traveling home on Sunday. The tow truck driver recommended we stay at the Comfort Inn. We checked in without a problem and the staff was helpful and courteous. The room was clean and met our expectations. The pool was also nice for the kids and was warm and clean. The breakfast was also convenient for us since we did not have a vehicle to drive. We had to use the room longer than needed since our car was not yet fixed and Danielle at the front desk was very accommodating and told me not to stress about vacating the room. This was reassuring since I was working remote. I would highly recommend staying here.

2022-06-27Nice motel, rooms as nice as previous stay at Hilton. Not terribly large for three occupants. Could use more outlets. Breakfast was nice with strawberry waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage links and the usual.

2022-02-22Did the trick in some weather. Had a 2 bed (queen or doubles) room....happy there was an option, one of the beds had a deep sunken area, the other bed was fine.Friendly front desk. Cleaning in the elevator and common areas left something to be desired.

2022-05-07This was a good place to attend a seminar. It was easy to find and a number of options nearby for restaurants, groceries, and supplies. Covid modified breakfast was included. I was there October 2021.

2022-01-11The hotel was close off the exit and easy to find. The room was spacious and clean. I had issues with the internet but other than that a decent stay. I liked that your room key could get you discounts at local restaurants. I would stay there again.

2021-10-24The second shift receptionist was wonderful and super chill! All the amenities were great and the room was very cozy, the jacuzzi in the pool room definitely helped us relax after a long drive from home and we met some great people too! The bathroom was a nice size, the room was very clean, and the beds were so comfy, my boyfriend and I basically melted into them. We will definitely be returning!!!!

2022-05-28Positive: Nothing Negative: Old and run down¿ broken speaker on tv¿ mortar on bathroom floor tiles literally coming out in chunks¿ deterioration must have started years ago. Fixtures, carpet and everything looks worn out, and only a few dollars less than the Hampton Inn!
