Booked a room here because it was super close to a friend we were visiting. Our room was clean and perfect for a night away from home. The reason for the three stars is due to the following: the front desk person wasnt super friendly during check in; we left for dinner and came back and the doors were locked and couldnt get into the building (the staff that let us in told us the doors werent supposed to be locked for another 2 hours); and this is kind of random but the elevator smelled awful. It had a strong musty smell that you could smell before you stepped into it.If youre looking for a place to sleep while youre in the area like us this is a great option, but if you need something fancy you might want to look for another location.
Horrible ghetto hotel. Avoid at all cost. My fiancé works for this hotel chain. We reserved a room using a family members card. She is allowed to run the card on file at her hotel even if the cardholder is not present. We stayed late at a family Thanksgiving dinner an hour and half from the house with 3 young children expecting to be able to stay without a problem. We were denied service by the lady working the front desk stating the person with the card on file had to be present. That is not policy at the hotel she works and has checked many people in using the card on file. We had permission to use the card but since you denied our room one can only assume you will not charge the card on file since they had to be present for security reasons. If the card gets charged for a non refundable room it will be reported as fraud since we were denied the service we attempted to pay for. Sadly I believe we were discriminated against. But given I felt the urge to stick a large piece of lumber under my wheel due to the surroundings it was probably for the best.
Very clean and comfortable hotel. The staff was professional and polite. The prices are great for the location being relatively close to the zoo. The only complaint I have that cost them a star is the continental breakfast. Its served 6:30-9:30am according to what they have on the check-in envelope. I was down there at 8:40 and there was almost nothing. Two waffle irons unplugged, no cereal, no bread for toast, an empty mini buffet, and it was all spotless, so it wasnt that Id missed it. The options were sweet packaged honey buns, muffins, or an apple. Otherwise, good experience.
The attendant at the front desk was very nice on arrival and got me checked in very quickly. The room was pretty dirty. I came prepared with my own cleaning supplies because we had a suite with a spa. I had to clean more than the hot tub. There was hair in the shower. The toilet wasnt wiped down properly and the floor needed to be vacuumed/sweeped badly. We ended up not staying the entire night because my husband couldnt get comfortable in the bed (not the hotels fault he has a bad back).
4/5 stars. We stayed two nights in a 1 King Bed Suite. It was spacious with a super comfortable bed. We didnt use the sofa bed, however it was nice to have a couch. The entire room and bathroom was clean and cozy. The kitchenette area was nice, with a sink! Would have liked a coffee maker though. The only issues we came across were a loose toilet seat, a burnt out light in the bathroom, and a space between the entrance door and floor, which let light in from the hallway. We were able to cover it with a towel though. Being on the first floor, the hallway was hot and stuffy, with a weird smell. The second floor was not like this. Also, I was expecting a full hot breakfast but only received continental.Overall, a good experience with only a few minor issues. Staff was kind and helpful. The hotel itself is small, which was good for noise control and safety. I would consider coming back if we were to visit Cincinnati again!
I requested two nights and wasn’t given any paperwork so I assumed it would be under my door before checkout on the second day. The first morning there was a knock on my door stating it was past checkout time. I opened the door and stated I had reserved two nights. The man said he didn’t think so and for me to go to the front desk. I went to the front desk and another man stated I had only been reserved one night and needed to leave. I inquired about staying another night in my room and was told they were all booked up and they would give me five or ten minutes to pack up. They made no attempt to help me find another hotel. The young girl who checked me in was pleasant but evidently not equipped to make reservations properly. I stated I wanted to stay from the 3rd to the 5th which is two nights. I packed up, left and roamed around for three hours until I found the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Sharonville. They were very accommodating and it is a much cleaner and updated hotel. Very pleasant front desk staff. I will be staying there during my next visits to Cincinnati.
Check-in took forever. Bear in mind I was the only person checking in and there was no wait when I walked up. The front desk clerk seemed confused by every aspect of her job: the computer, the card maker, the printer, the monitor, the phone, etc. Also, I had already entered all of my info and credit card information when I had booked the room on the hotels own website! So I have no idea what was so difficult and why I had to wait there for 15 minutes while she did God knows what. The room itself was tolerably clean, although it was dated. The internet was spotty. The neighborhood around the hotel was a bit rough. There were vagrants in the parking lot when we left in the morning.Another delightful episode was checking out. Check out is at 11:00 a.m. I was zipping my luggage at 11:01 a.m. when there was a pounding at the door. Outside is the manager who wanted to know how much longer I was going to be. I was out of the room within the next 3 minutes, so I feel he could have held off his slumlord routine until 11:05 at least. Would not stay here again.
We stayed here to go to the zoo. It’s not a great area...a little rough. We probably wouldn’t choose to stay here with the kids again. Our reservation was correct and the room was pretty clean, but there were some stains on the bedding and everything just looks a little run down. Also the reservation said a hot breakfast buffet and we were offered a grab bag instead. Overall not terrible, but probably won’t be back.
We needed a conveniently located hotel close to the highway and close to the Cincinnati Zoo. This hotel met our needs. We very much enjoyed our stay. It was a quiet environment with a comfortable bed, kind staff, quality housekeeping, and a good value. We would stay here again!
Positive: Not a damn thing! Negative: The room was dirty, the toilet seat was broke, we found two bugs in the bed! We could not get another room because they were totally booked up for the night. The carpeting was so gross that it turned our feet a dark brown color. Glitter was all over.
If you are looking for a quick stop over. It will do. No bells and whistles, the sash for the bed was dirty and the water would not go down in the sink. Floor wasnt vacuumed, as I stepped on a grape seed, possibly from previous person(s) that occupied the room. Next time will stay at Marriott.
My fiance chose this room because I wanted a Spa or Jacuzzi Bath & it did have that. However, I found another hotel room & same style for half the price ($124) to be exact, & the telephone in the room didnt work so I had to go back to the front desk to tell the lady that the room only had one towel & no wash cloths. She said something like, I will come check on it, but, you can just use your phone...I said, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CALL THE FRONT DESK, FROM MY PHONE, SHE GAVE ME THE BUSINESS CARD, that was on the counter, & said that the phone number was on there 🤔, then she also handed me 4 towels. Very Dissatisfied!!!
I payed extra for a hot tub suite. It was small & the hot tub didn’t work. The tub in the bathroom had paint chipping off of it / had a big crack in it. The ceiling had water damage & 2 holes in it. The fire sprinklers was taped up so if there was a fire they wouldn’t help. The mini fridge leaked & we found like 6 bugs. We will never stay here again. Horrible experience.
Positive: Close to the University of Cincinnati. There is a bus to go to downtown and the riverfront. Negative: Neighborhood looks shabby. Was not able to check in around 11 am. Bathroom faucet was dripping water. It is nice to have free breakfast. But I wish they could provide more food options.
In a hotel first, the front desk was not able to provide and a key card when I arrived at 4:15 p.m. today. The lady at the front desk had to walk me to my room to let me in. When I returned at 10:30 p.m. same thing. Also: Non-smoking room has clearly been smoked in recently. Plus the wall controls for the noisy a/c dont work.
The management did not check the room before booking it out. The room had paint problems, bathtub had a chunk missing and then they painted gloss over it. The ceiling above shower had water damage which gaped with an empty hole in it. All of the jacuzzi tub Spickets were paint chipped and dirty. All of the sprinklers on the ceiling were covered in plastic wrap. The walls, tables and mirrors were dirty.
When I checked in, the gentle man at the front desk said that house keeping had the room marked as dirty. He went to check and he said the room was not dirty. 🥴 I went in the room and there was a dirty bathroom, tub and shower curtain. I went to the desk and asked him for another shower curtain. He said there wasn’t one available. I asked was there another room available and he said no.
The hotel was under construction and no one should of been allowed to stay there for safety reason. The first floor was cover in construction worker, material and supplies. The elevator was down because it was full of construction material and supplies. I couldnt cancel my reservation due to timing. I am pretty sure I was the only one staying the night. I checked into another hotel the following day.
The hotel isnt in a very good area. Not somewhere you would intentionally go unless you had a specific reason. That being said, the general disrepair of the facility didnt add to the appeal of the location. Also, we paid in advance for the room, but the hotel apparently, didnt get that information, nor was a payment recorded anywhere. Overall a very disappointing 5th anniversary.
Cleaned both the filters in the air conditioner, it had been a long time. My 9 year old niece played on the floor with her dolls, she got up and her knees where black. Had to wear shoes while in room or socks that I threw out after we left. The girl at check in very nice.
I will never stay here again because i complained that night i stayed at 230 in the morning and they said they talked to the people above us to quiet down; the noise continued and i never could fall back to sleep and had to leave the hotel at 5am for a 6am meeting at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati. I called later that day for a partial refund and they said there was no note made of the incident but later i called and the lady whom was working that night shift told me she left a note for the other manager and owner. Not real happy at all and will not recommend anyone to stay here.
It was very nice. Comfortable bed. Great price. Very clean. Had a complimentary breakfast. It wasnt hot because of the rona, but it had fruit, juice and a hunny bun. Right off the expressway. 15 minutes from the aquarium. The are in the middle of putting a new awning up bit it was still very clean. No dust laying around,, no big mess, We were very pleased. Thank you for everything...
We were super grateful that their whirlpool suite was available at such late notice, after our other reservation fell through. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.I did think that their prices were a little high for the quality you receive, and the elevator was scary to use. You could smell burnt electronics while inside. Room could have been cleaned better(stains and crumbs on carpet). But that whirlpool was so nice and relaxing!
The reason I liked this hotel was because if the friendliness the staff has shown me. They were so accommodating and kind that it really made a big difference in my stay. The room was clean, the air condition excellent and the microwave so helpful. I was extremely comfortable and happy with the service and I had a wonderful and memorable stay
We had a great stay here and would come back. All the staff were friendly and helpful. They even had fresh baked cookies for us in the evening. The room was spacious and for the most part clean. We did find a sucker wrapper laying in the floor when we checked in. Our room overlooked the hill side, so it felt very private.
Came here so could be close to hospital b/c had to be there so early next morning, so drove up the night before. HORRIBLE idea!!!!! Was no way could sleep in this hotel. Tough area of town. People running and hollering in hallway ALL night! Made sleep impossible! Would have been better off staying home and driving up. Next time if come up early will stay in sky side and travel the extra 10 minutes
My husband and I stayed two nights. The general appearance of the hotel is clean and up to date. Breakfast has a good selection. Hot foods could be hotter. The bed was very comfortable. The room was a generous size, clean in smell and appearance but my bare feet indicated the carpet need to be cleaned. The hallway had a slightly stale odor. All of the staff we met were pleasant and helpful. We were visiting the Ark Encounter, only 35 minutes away. Easy on and off from the interstate.
Although the staff was friendly and helpful, the location left a lot to be desired, apparently the suites are located in what can best be described as the Hood , on one particular occasion while at the Walgreens which is about 2 blocks east of the Comfort Inn, I had a rather hostile street person begging for money and after some discussion while showing him what the business end of a glock 40 cal looks like, he decided that it was in his best interest to depart the area. Understanding that the Comfort Inn has no control over the area in which theyre located, I cant recommend this area in good faith to others and I made it clear to my wife that we wont be staying there ever again.
The hotel was great for its location and price. It was quiet. The beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful when we needed anything. The breakfast was good too! Literally my only complaint is that there were some stains on the washcloths and towels that werent from any of us.
So far so good, tonights sleep and tomorrows breakfast time will tell me if its going to be worth the money. The room and decor are beautifully done. (Update:) I slept great and breakfast was good. The minus star was for people smoking near the building the wind tunneled second hand smoke in front of the entrance. Have a room near the front office we heard arguements at the front door, so we locked out room up just in case. The area is not sketchy but the people are. Staff was friendly. Its a great location though near fast food and Kroger across the other side of the highway.
Overall hotel was great. However it’s not in a great area. Check in lady was on her phone the entire checkin process. The room was very clean. The breakfast was pretty good. It had regular waffles, cereal, muffins, juice, etc. It also had eggs, sausage, and gravy. The check put men were kind and helpful.
The staff was friendly upon arrival, but seemed to cool in the after that. I saw the same attendant later that night and she didnt smile, just a sort of dismissive glance my way. My warm was good, temperature was comfortable, area was quiet and I was on the 3rd floor. The manager, or whoever he was was quiet and busy in the morning except for when he seemed to rush the woman who was helping me with my breakfast. She worked there, and had a walker, so she was older, but Im not sure why he seemed yo rush her out and that rubbed me the wrong way.Breakfast was good - eggs and waffles were great, but bacon was undercooked and soggy, as were the hash browns. Overall a 3.6 out of 5.Google Maps was terrible guiding me here and sent me in a loop, but that doesnt affect the score - just a heads up for travelers.
Both of our double-queen rooms were spacious. At first, one of the rooms smelled like cigarettes and was smaller, but they switched us easily. The staff members were all approachable, friendly, and responsive. Breakfast was good. The location was great for the zoo and fairly close to OTR.
Was unsure about this hotel based on reviews, but have nothing but positive things to say about my experience. Room was clean and nicely furnished. Bed was a little soft, but not uncomfortably so. Breakfast, while not lavish, was hot and delicious (I had the Belgian waffles, cereal, sausage, and eggs each day). Even the desk clerk was friendly and helpful at both check-in and check-out. Would definitely stay at again!
The staff did a fantastic job. We arrived a bit early for check-in, but they said we could go ahead anyway. According to staff, there was an issue with our original room - we never saw it. By the time we had finished at the front desk and taken the elevator to our floor, someone else was there to direct us to the alternative room, unlocked the door, and no sooner had we set down our bags and the gentleman from the front desk was knocking with our new room keys. It doesnt have that generic hotel scent, but smelled absolutely delightful our entire stay. The selection at breakfast was great, and it wasnt cramped at all like other places we have stayed.
This hotel has a central location with easy interstate access to go any direction in town. Our daughter is in college and we have stayed there multiple times. It is a very good value with nice accomodations. The staff has always been very easy to work with and they have been very accomodating with any request we have had. The front desk staff is always very personable and amenable to almost any request and have gone out of their way to help. We will be staying many more times in the upcoming years.
The hotel was ok, kind of what youd expect from a Quality Inn. A little pricey but convenient to I-75. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Several minor problems with my room. Musty smell, bathroom door didnt latch, stopper in tub was disconnected, felt kind of damp in the room. When you plugged items into some of the outlets, the plugs just fell out, wouldnt stay in. The parking lot is very small, %100 full the night we stayed. Breakfast was simple but not bad. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was ok for the night and we basically just slept there, got up, had breakfast and left the next morning. I cant say Id recommend it but it wasnt the worst hotel Ive been to...
We chose this facility because it was close to all the places we needed to visit, but not right down town either. It is only two miles through some historic neighborhoods to the Zoo, the University, Hospitals, walking parks, and many local eateries. The facility provided everything I wanted in an hotel, quiet, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, simple fast internet access & a great breakfast in the morning, cookies in the afternoon/evening, and plenty of coffee/tea and water all day long. But the best part of the experience was the staff; from the front desk to house keeping. The owner was very hands-on, and committed to making sure our stay was comfortable. We will definitely stay here every time we are in the area.
1-night stay over to drop off don at Xavier U. No complaints about our king bed or the room, in general. It was nice having a wet bar, fridge and microwave in the room. Front desk personnel were great. Quick with answers to questions or requests. However, 1 request was for a plunger after the 1st use of bathroom. Toilet remained clogged after several plunges by me and hubby. After receiving 2 useless plungers, hubby went to nearby Lowes to purchase a more sturdy one. Worked after 1 plunge. The fitness center was extremely disappointing. 1 treadmill, 1 bike, neither of which worked. Didnt even bother telling anyone at the front desk. It didnt seem as though the room was used that often, anyway.Weve already decided that paying a few dollars more for a higher-rated brand would definitely have been worth it. Even just for 1 night.
Room Smelled of Smoke, dirty old carpets holding the odor. After staying for a little over an hour my wife got a migraine due to the smell. She then pulled back the sheets and found a black hair by the pillow. We decided to leave and make the long 7 hour drive back home. The Front Desk attendant was nice and offered another room but I knew with the smell it wouldnt have matter with the migraine. It was too late and so he offered a refund. We were in a hurry and he was on the phone so I didnt want to wait to process the refund there assuming he would follow through (my mistake I guess). I just called after I see the charge on my credit card, manager on the phone accused me of lying and making up stories. Refused to offer refund and kept exaggerating how long we had been there. He demanded that i send him photos of the rooms smokey smell and hair... (not sure how you photograph a smell????) I will be submitting a complaint to their corporate office and update this review once I hear from them. Very dishonest owner/manager on the phone.I had already been on the road with a toddler in the car for 7 hours, I did not want to make the unplanned additional 6 hr drive home late into the night. Also, I just echo the notion of the area near the hotel not being great for families or women staying on their own. Its not terrible but its not good. It was directly off the highway which was convenient.
The place is nicely done (decorated). But it seems like the staff really dont care. Dont get me wrong, the front desk staff have been great. But when I came into the room, you could see that someone had sat laid on the bed while probably watching tv. The bedspread had stains on it (not those kind of stains!). Things would be a whole lot better if there was just a little more caring.
Although the location and property borders arent the most desirable (backs up to a hill and the freeway), I found all the staff to be very courteous and helpful. The interior of the property has just been renovated and you can smell the cleanliness from the moment you walk through the front door. If travelers are looking for a clean hotel with excellent staff, this is the one. Better than 2.5 stars due to the renovation/interior cleanliness and staff.
Good hotel for a weekend stay in Cincinnati. The rooms were comfortable and had modern amenities like a refrigerator, AC, microwave, included hot breakfast, free parking, etc. My only complaints were the smell in the lobby, that the Wifi did not work, and the hotel was not in a good location. It was not far from a less safe part of town, so I did not feel as safe as I would have liked, especially driving and parking a luxury car. However, the room itself was great for the value.
If you stay here, be very careful to review the charges on your credit card. Management decided to bill us for a missing pillow which we didnt take with no authorization. They were the epitome of rude. They have been blessed with a few good night clerks who were helpful to all. My rating of staff is poor only because of rude desk clerk who I asked about the random charge and the hotel manager. There were nice employees there and honestly the rooms were decent. I was shocked to see how the manager acted and dismayed that I could be accessed of stealing a pillow. It had made me think about our next stay at a hotel. Maybe take a picture of how you left the room? Ask a staff person to walk up and see the room with you? The manager and clerk were not willing to accept we didnt steal the pillow. So very frustrating! Manager also never even let us finish a sentence. Very patronizing.
This was easily the best hotel experience Ive ever had. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the bed was actually comfortable. I have never slept on a hotel bed that was so soft. I was able to fall asleep instantly. And the free daily breakfast was a HUGE plus. Id recommend this hotel to anyone.
Beautifully clean, lovely employees. Very comfortable bed. Good price, $85+tax for a king suite. Parking lot was situated weirdly due to location of hotel. Hard to make a left hand turn into or out of the parking lot due to proximity of the traffic light but can be worked around. Highly recommend.
Worst experience Ive every had. The management and owner is very rude and unprofessional. They dont care about their guests, they are greedy. I booked two rooms for a price of 83 dollars total and two days before my stay they changed my rate to 130 dollars. When i tried to contact the hotel about the change, the owner started screaming at me and then told me to go somewhere else. Then proceeded to cancel my reservations. Thats not what I was trying to do, at all. I just wanted to know why I was being charged an extra $50! Ive never been treated so poorly in my life, I will never go to this hotel or any of its subsidiaries! I recommend you going somewhere else, where youll not be treated like trash for asking simple questions in regards to a extra charge that was put on your reservation out of greed! Worst people Ive ever dealt with! Worst experience Ive ever had!
The hotel had a great vibe. Upon arrival, valet was very friendly and knowledgeable with easy check in. Museum was great, very comfy bed! Bar service took on average 10-15 min just to be greeted. The bar wasnt very busy and bartenders would talk to other patrons or walk right by us and another couple we didnt know at the...
Im not exactly sure how it happened but there were 2 rooms booked for our stay initially on reservations that could not be canceled, changed or refunded. When the hotel was contacted they worked with us to get one of our rooms canceled without charge. We stayed here because it was close to the zoo, and while I felt the rate was a bit high, the accommodations were good. Room was clean and the hotel was quiet. Since we were there with our grandchildren, the free breakfast was a nice perk. In all the confusion of trying to get young kids packed up the morning we checked out, we left a toiletry bag hanging on the back of the bathroom door. When I called about having it shipped the night clerk located the bag and Harry, the assistant manager in the morning who was especially helpful went the extra mile and packaged the bag ready for pickup.
The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The hotel was clearly older and could use to be remodeled. Would have liked more towels in the bathroom and the bath did not have an exhaust fan. The desk chair was in sad shape and there was no lighting near the couch area. Pullout couch mattress was VERY OLD and very uncomfortable. For a one night stay this was okay but I would look elsewhere before booking here again. The staff was exceptional and very helpful. Not too bad for the location if you arent staying very long- but I have stayed in more comfortable rooms.
Had to stop here for the night on a long motorcycle ride home. Was very happy with the stay. Comfortable beds, clean room, large shower and tub, which is what i needed after my long day.. Complementary breakfast in the morning was good as well. And the staff was very kind. Thanks!
Some of the employees are extremely rude. The front desk receptionist had a really negative and nasty attitude because I simply asked her for a extra sheet and pillow case. The manager was rude as well. He made a comment about me taking breakfast to my room, when every other customer was doing it as well. I guess he just couldnt resist saying something to the black girl. H e raised his voice when i asked why there wasnt as sign stating that taking breakfast to the room wasnt allowed. Horrible experience I literally left the hotel in tears.
Great Room! Bad Location! Unfriendly staff.Upon arriving I noticed that the front entrance was very dirty. If I didnt just come off a long trip. I would have went to another hotel. To my surprise once in the room I was blown away. The room was very clean and very comfortable. I didnt really get to experience the breakfast. I came down about a couple minutes after 9:30. ( Approx 9:36)
The accessibility room needs to be updated so that it looks like the photos on the website but everything was clean and in working order. The staff was helpful and kind. Chocolate chip cookies at night are an added plus. The hotel was quiet, so recovering from surgery was very pleasant. Beds were really comfy and cozy. The bathroom is truly accessible for someone who needs a device to assist in walking/standing.
Comfy bed and decent shower area. Went to have some tea and the coffee machine had some spider webs on it. As well once in bed sipping the tea I noticed there were gold wrappers underneath the telephone in the room. So, naturally in curiosity I lifted the phone and there lied two condoms. As a visitor from out of state I had never been more disgusted in my life. Can obviously tell the cleaning staff does not do their job properly. I do not recommend this hotel unless you have absolutely no other choice there is a Marriott around the corner !! -10 stars from me
Stayed 1 night-staff very accommodating. Room was comfortable temperature, and clean. The breakfast was nice and well stocked. There were a number of guests at this hotel and we didnt hear a thing over night. Parking lot is a bit small, but is close to the freeway. Highly recommend to stay here on your visit to Cincinnati OH.
I booked online and no where did it say that there was construction. The first morning we woke up to hammers pounding in the room above us and we had to move rooms. I would have chosen a different hotel all together especially for the price. So I recommend calling to see if construction is happening before you book.
We had to clean up rain coming into the hotel from a storm around the window and the a/c, with no comp on the room (since we were told they couldn’t give us a different room). The elevator was very small and the door was slow to open and close. For the price is costs to stay in this hotel, the overall quality should have been much better.
This is in the running for the worst hotel ever. The room was infested with fruit flies, no matter how many were killed. The toilet seat slid off. There were no towels available. An old bra was found beside the couch. When wiping the room with clorox wipes, each one was black like the room had never been cleaned before. Blankets were stained. The staff followed up the horrible night by saying food could not be taken to the room, even though there is a fridge and microwave there. If zero stars could be given, this would be the place.
I have stayed at this quality inn before and the stay was quite nice. This time, however, the check in process took forever and the next morning, all the food was cold (at 9am). I had to remind the staff that there were no cups as they were just standing around. Will consider staying elsewhere during my next trip to Cincinnati.
Staff was friendly and helpful but hotel was out of date. breakfast was great, many options, coffee available at all times. fitness center is complete joke, small little room, 3 machines, all broken. tv wouldnt even turn on. lots of strange smells throughout the hotel, adequate to stay in but not really nice.
Don’t stay here...it is being remodeled...that was not disclosed to us in advance. There is a gaping hole for exposed electric in the foyer, blinking lights on the stairs, carpet doesn’t look like it is ever vacuumed, boogers on the wall, a plant that is dying in the pot & need to be repotted in the gym, though the rooms were renovated tubs/toilets are still original and in terrible unclean condition etc.
I had a pleasant overnight stay at this hotel. I only give it 4 stars because of the location. It isnt in the nicest neighborhood. The beds were comfortable and my room was clean. The coffee and breakfast were below average compared to other quality inns that I have stayed at.
We needed a place to stay for two nights while our son went through UC orientation. Most of the hotels around UC are higher in cost. Found this location which was only 5-10 minutes away, depending on the time of day and traffic volume. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly. The complimentary breakfast had a good variety of selections. All in all, a very good stay.
It was sufficient quality and service for the price. We just needed to stay over one night, and it was perfect for our needs. Furniture could use some updating and one of the beds caved a little to the center. But then again, its not a new hotel. I would stay again if the need arrived.
Extremely bad experience. After repeatedly complaining about the air conditioning at the hotel there was never a permanent fix. The clogging of toilet and bathtub was a an added issue. The room got way too hot. No functional Gym. All equipments are out of order. The service was extremely pathetic in response to such issues. They say they fixed all issues bit in reality they dont do a thing. I dont recommend to stay at this hotel even for a small trip. Extremely dissatisfied with my stay at this Quality Inn
Very nice and clean, I was on the 600 mile US 127 yard sale and was extremely tired when I checked in, the staff were very efficient and quick with the check in process.Preparing for my trip, I had made detailed notes on my maps for my trip route down thru Kentucky and Tennessee - forgot them at home... even though there was not a computer room, the manager was more than helpful by printing out all my info again. The breakfast was the usual standard waffle maker and cereal with fruit.everything was well stocked and clean.
Area roads are under construction, so be very careful getting off freeway and into parking lot (August 2013), but the hotel is clean, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was sufficient (though the 3 days we were there they never did provide fresh, hard-boiled eggs - only the scrambled kind that taste powdered). They did have waffles, cereals and a nice variety of breads & pastries. The lady that handled the breakfast area was delightful - very cheerful and eager to please. We had a king room that was probably one of the largest rooms we have ever stayed in. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and quiet, Only comment is that the area with the desk and sofa/bed would have been more functional if a lamp had been provided on one of the sofa end tables so there would be enough light to read by while someone was sleeping on the other side of the half-wall.
The hotwire rating is generous for this hotel. The rooms are below average but clean. Spent 10 minutes waiting to be checked in because hotel staff had to have a discussion in from of me about the drawer being short money. Free breakfast is nice but I then had to listen to a hotel worker complain to what seemed to be the manager all the way through me eating breakfast. Would have been a higher rating if only the staff put their guest customer service and experience first
Stayed two nights in February 2016. Had a very pleasant experience. Staff was helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable, which, for me, means mattress was not too firm. Breakfast was about what you expect in this genre of motel, but very fresh and good. WiFi was also free and fast! I would definitely stay here again.
Rooms clean and beds are comfortable but the staff was rude. Breakfast starts at 6:30 am and no guests are allowed in dinning area until that time. The No food allowed to your room is crazy. My husband is disabled veteran and has a hard time getting around in a crowded dinning area. This diamond member is not to happy😞
Location was very convenient to where we needed to be and close to the interstate. Continental breakfast was on par with other hotels in the same price range. Room was exactly as expected and king bed was comfy. AC worked very very very well. Check in and check out was a breeze.
The front desk staff is helpful and friendly. Our room had dryer sheets stuck to the air conditioner. The toilet was shaky and not secure to the floor. There was a large spider web in the door frame of the bathroom upon our arrival. My daughter found a roll of wrapping paper and candy in the drawer in the desk. The room had obviously not been cleaned well after the last guests to stay there.
This hotel is very clean, recently remodeled/updated. The rooms were well maintained and quiet. We did not have the breakfast but it looked inviting. The breakfast area was very clean and an attendant kept the food well stocked. The location is very convenient for travelers passing through, but it is difficult to access from the roadway during high traffic times if you are spending multiple days.
This is the best hotel in this area for our price range. We stay here several times per year because its location is close to family. Breakfast is fine. Wifi was EXTREMELY slow this visit. I wish the staff were more outgoing and friendlier. They were not unfriendly, they did their jobs, but did not go out of their way to make us feel welcome (except for the manager who checked us in on arrival.)
Ive never felt so welcome in a hotel before. The staff is friendly and warm. The rooms are clean and cozy. Whenever we come to Cincinnati, this is the only hotel well stay in. Ive never felt compelled to leave a review for a hotel before, but this hotel is just so wonderful!
Rooms were nice & clean. The best thing about Choice hotels are they give free continental hot breakfast as per not like other big franchise (i.e. Hiltons & Marriott) have expensive breakfast with same old standards. I would always suggest and get choice hotels with all amenities and free good amount of breakfast.
I was hesitant to make a reservation at this motel based on the on line comments about it. However, it was the most convenient to what we wanted to do in Cincinnati, so we booked it. I was more than pleasantly surprised at what we found--large, clean, comfortable room; friendly staff; excellent breakfast. It offers more amenities than we could take advantage of--microwave, refrigerator, and small sink for food dishes; an exercise room. The motel was right beside I-75 and I anticipated we might hear traffic noises. We heard none. I could not believe that the people who wrote those negative reviews stayed at the same motel.
Just a few improvements and I would have been more generous. The good: staff is friendly and helpful. Internet seemed stable, they provide snacks like popcorn and cookies. Everything worked ie.. refrigerator, lights and AC (not great)The Bad: My bed was completely worn out, the edges of the mattress role down. When showering the water doesnt drain fast enough and will pool at the bottom. Toilet needs to be tightened as it rocks slightly when used.
The one we went to in Cincinnati was a bit old it seemed. Some things like bathroom doors didnt close all the way but its within the room so it was okay. It was near the interstate so that was a great. Overall the quality of service was great. They were very friendly and thoughful for nearby recommendations to check out as well. Suite rooms were very clean too. Id stay at Quality Inn & Suites again.
This was the best hotel that weve stayed in. Very clean! Extra towels & personal items in room. The front desk personnel Theresa went above & beyond to help us. It was an awful past 24 hours being from out of town to attend a funeral. Car problems. She was a helpful delight & every hotel needs her!!!
The hotel was very clean! My room and the bathroom were clean! My bed was comfortable! Even the elevator ran quick and efficiently! Its next door to a gas station and 2 restaurants and Wal-greens are very close by. The zoo and university and near as well I give this hotel 5 stars!!
I drove 6 hours from Michigan to stay there for a concert I was going to. I was allowed to check in 2 & 1/2 hours early. That made it possible to get to the venue on time. For that I extremely grateful. The staff was very polite and friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was great. When Im back in the area I will definitely stay there again.
Fairly updated hotel, not in the best area, but not in the worst, either. Worth the price of the room. Breakfast left a little bit to be desired, but since its free, can you really complain?Had an issue with a night clerk getting locked out and banging on our window at 4:00 a.m. so she could be let back in, so that wasnt a great experience.
When I made my reservations in August 2014 for a hotel stay at this location for July 24 & 25, 2015 for 2 rooms 2 double beds. In early July 2015 I called the hotel to confirm the reservation for 2 double beds with 2 rooms. When I checked in on July 24, 2015, I was told that I had to take 1 room 2 double beds and 1 room 1 King size bed. I asked the hotel receptionist that I had order 2 rooms 2 double beds and also confirmed in early July 2015, she said that was all they had with an attitude (but there was no where else to stay in Cincinnati, so I had to take the attitude she had). I have been staying in this hotel for about 3 years, but refuse to go back. If I make a reservation and pay then I expected to get what I reserved a year in advance and received. Bad, Bad business. Will not stay again. Had to travel to the first floor for ice, breakfast bar was very good in the past, but very poor.
We enjoyed our stay at this location. The rooms were very clean, nice staff, and great breakfast. We were very impressed with how comfortable the bed was. This location had easy access from the zoo and interstate, making travel to and from the hotel very easy. We will stay here next time we visit Cincinnati!
We have stayed at this hotel quite a few times. Most of our stays have been in King Suites, which are very nice. This time we needed a room with two queen mattresses. The ones in room 305 are not firm and gave us all back aches. The staff here is very nice and we appreciate how willing to help they are. Go ahead and stay, but if you want firm mattresses avoid room 305.
Nothing particularly good or bad about this hotel. Staff was nice, free breakfast, rooms were clean. Overall what I was expecting but not exceeding expectations. Could use some soundproofing as we heard the guests above and around us too clearly. Also they do NOT have a pool, which we didnt realize until we got there and were kind of disappointed about. Theyre area isnt the greatest and there was frequent traffic backups right out front, but meh it was alright.
The area of the hotel was a little sketchy. We stayed for one night and didn’t experience any problems. The hotel seemed like it was just remodeled. There was a weird odor in the room but other than that no problems. Super close to the zoo which was the purpose of our trip.
Ive been to four different choice hotels and this one is my now least favorite. I told by management that we couldnt have food in our room.... but they supply a fridge and microwave? The bathroom mirror is held up by a folded piece of paper the underside of the chair is falling off, the bedsheets were not changed and there was still trash in our trashcan when we came up after 5 PM. We wrote ahead that we would be checking in around 9-10AM which is early but we were coming from 2 hours away and just wanted to check in early and grab the key card before we went to the zoo. I will say the shower water is hot and feels great with different settings and they have hot breakfast, but the juice machine taste horrible. No indoor pool. They have WI-FI that works great. Its in a shady side, the gas station next door sells clothes and colored contacts.
Stayed here overnight after seeing a concert with a friend. When we checked in, we both noticed the room smelled odd, but couldnt place the smell, and decided not to complain to the front desk since we were only staying one night. After we checked out, my friend was checking her bank statement and noticed the hotel charged her an additional fee. When she called to get more information about the charge, she was told it was because we smoked in the room. Neither of us are smokers. My friend is having an awful time dealing with the hotel staff to get the charge removed from her account. Terrible customer service. Would never stay here again.
Stayed here a few days ago. We only needed a place to sleep. No bed bugs, but the mattress cover under the sheet had lots of of lint (fuzz and hair). Air conditioner thumped loudly when on high. Shower was tricky- turns on under the spout. There was a begger in the parking lot. Neighborhood wasnt the greatest but we didnt hear sirens all night. Continental breakfast was good and the lady that checked us in the night before was clearing the tables and took care of our plates. Nice. A bit pricey for just needing a place to sleep but glad to not have bites all over when we woke up.
We paid for a suite with a jacuzzi tub. The tub was great other than that I would say not worth the $470 for two nights. The hair dryer was missing from the bathroom, the breakfast was cold(eggs and sasuage) they had no waffle batter, then they had maintenance come while we were napping to install the new blow dryer (we never called about it so they obviously knew it was missing before we even checked in) and we accidently spilled coffee on the bed. When we went to leave for the day we let them know. Their response, we can give you sheets but housekeeping has already left. So we had to fix our bed. I am not someone who thinks hotel staff is here to wait on me hand and foot however housekeeping had not even been in our room yet that day.
It smelled bad immediately upon entering the hotel. The first room they gave us reeked of cigarette smoke even though all rooms are nonsmoking and they make you sign a statement saying they will charge you an extra 250 dollars for smoking in the room. I went back to the desk immediately and told the clerk that we couldnt stay there because of allergies to smoke. And i also didnt want a bogus 250 dollar charge for something that i did not do. The rooms are outdated with thick carpet. All in all i didnt feel like it was very clean. And then there was a kid with a giant cat on the desk in the lobby and it was also no pets allowed. Im allergic to cats and this almost made me leave immediately. I would not ever stay here again.
It was looking old and worn. There is a serious need for housekeeping improvement. I expected more staying at a Choice Hotel. I have stayed at Quailty Inns many times over the years and never experienced this. We almost left. It was dirty, and most furniture, doors, & towels looked worn. It looked as though they just change the linens in the rooms and move on to the next. There is a gas station next door and half the night you can hear loud stereos booming or just watch out the window as they repair cars in the parking lot or people watch the homeless people begging for money at the intersection.
Accused me of smoking and charged my account...thats not the worst part, the manager lied about being there when I asked to speak to him. They called the police on me when I kept asking for the manager. Breakfast was COLD not hot and there was mold in the ice machine. This hotel has horrible customer service and its filled with employees with no sense of integrity. Unless your checking in, dont expect to get any other service besides that! Extremely dissatisfied with my experience especially with what I just spent with this hotel! I can get better customer service at half the price at Super 8 on Ridge! Dont waste your money!
We stayed here while dropping daughter at college. We were very disappointed in the rooms compared to photos. Rooms were dark and very musty. Broken hair dryer. Bug in bathtub. Sofa bed was dirty. Etc... Staff was very nice -tried to be accommodating but rooms were sub par. Would not stay again.
My daughter and I needed a place to stay for the night for her early morning audition at the University of Cincinnati. The hotel was conveniently located to the university and also to several restaurants. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast, which had a surprisingly wide variety, including make-it-yourself waffles, eggs (hard-boiled and omelette), muffins/danish, cereal, fresh fruit, etc. The hotel was close to the freeway but had very good soundproofing. We could not hear the freeway traffic from our hotel room. It was a very pleasant stay and helped us relax before a busy day.
My nonsmoking room was clearly previously occupied by a heavy smoker! I was tired and got in late, so I was too tired to leave. The next day there must have been a sewer backup or something. The hallway smelled like rotten eggs or sulfur. I almost gagged. Too unpleasant to even eat breakfast. I have been a devoted patron for two years and I am very disappointed.
I picked the place as it said it had a exercise room and a pool. well, the exercise equipment did NOT work at all, not even the tv in the room worked. and NO POOL at all. The room service left dirty towels in the room on the window, and there was the smell that someone had been smoking in our room, the bed smelled terrible. the noise woke us up at 7am from work going on. very much a wasted trip to stay there. I went to relax and play in the pool with my son, it didnt happen.
Nice comfortable quiet stay, however, there was a problem securing the door. The door had to be lifted , pushed in, and held in position by my husband while I secured the lock. Needless to say, once safely inside...we slept well. Great front deskman, very familiar of the faultiness of the door and helped by provided directions to securing the door. Hot breakfast the next morning.
Hotel room bedding was stained, bathroom paint was peeling off the wall and bathroom was not very clean. The mirror trim was dirty and stained, view out my window was a wall.Elevator and stairwell smelled raunchy. Not a good area to stay in. Worried about my car in the lot and keep checking on it all night. Will not stay here again - even if free. -10 stars Avoid!
Hotel was Great, however I found a little disappointing to learn that arriving one hour before the cancellation deadline of 4pm didnt save our reservation. We learn that the Big Boss cancelled it, with no phone call, because the card declined. Luckily the nice agent at the desk was able to reinstate the reservation and we had a nice rest of our weekend
Hotel was ok. The breakfast is lacking to be desired. not much of a selection. The front desk was slow and not knowledgeable. Room was pretty nice. PARENTS BEWARE OF THIS LOCATIONS CRIBS, COULD BE DEFECTIVE OR PUT TOGETHER WRONG. For a parent this factors high on my scale and probably most parents scale. This is the main reason why the hotel got the rating that was given.
Ive stayed at some motels that were terrible, but this one is the BEST! They were very friendly and helpful. They tried to help us when we were looking for a certain restaurant. We found it but they were closed for the Holiday. We had breakfast there twice and the eggs and breakfast meat was never the same. And the lady running was very friendly. The room was always clean and the bed was well made. Had no problem hooking up to the internet.
The lobby smelled like sewage, the room was not what I reserved but was not offered anything in return/discount. The bathroom floor was dirty, the toilet wasn’t fastened to the floor properly, the drain in the sink was broken and the hot water didn’t work consistently.
Ive stayed in thousands of hotels. The his one is in a really not so good part of town. Its right off the interstate so you have noise from that. The room had cockroaches in the room and the sheets were not clean. I slept on top of the blanket. Breakfast was very poor. We went down right as it started and there were very few items out. I asked about fruit and a Middleeastern man didnt have a clue as to what I asked for. Keep driving. I recommend going across the river to Kentucky where its safe and CLEAN.
If I could rate this place a zero I would. We had a reservation made in advance and have been loyal customer of Choice Hotels. We checked into our room early in the day, spent the evening in Cincinnati, and returned to our room at around 10pm with the hope of going to bed early. A little before midnight, I heard someone attempting to enter our room. Not being familiar with the area I wasnt about to allow someone into our room this late at night. A few minutes later they attempted to enter our room again and more violent attempted to open the door; the only thing that prevented them from entering was the sliding lock I put on the door. Shortly after, I heard another knock and a woman yelling, asking who I was, what my name was, and that were not supposed to be in this room. I woke up my wife, who was already asleep, and we both cautiously opened the door. My wife asked the woman to identify herself, whether she was hotel staff, at which point the woman finally unzipped her jacket and showed the hotel staff shirt and nametag. She kept asking for our names without explaining why she needed this information. We refused to provide any information (in a hotel hallway) and agreed to meet her at the reception desk. While my wife (who was in her PJs) was getting dressed, the hotel staff woman called the room asking if we were coming to the desk. Shortly after we walked over to the desk where the staff member was with another gentleman, claiming that our room was assigned to him. She wanted to know our names to check against room reservston. When my wife provided name under reservation, the hotel staff person claimed that we were assigned another room, and that the other guest was assigned to our room. Somehow, she had issued keys to our room to this other person, while we were occupying the room having received keys earlier on the day. When my wife asked to see the check-in slip we signed, she claimed that there wasnt one with our names for our room. After much back and forth questioning, we came to realize that another guest was also checked into the wrong room. The desk staff was very rude and kept yelling at us while we continued to insist to see the check-in slip that was signed earlier in the afternoon. We finally received a print out of all guests staying at the hotel. The room number on our keycards envelope and system record did not match. Once we documented this error on their end, we tried to return to our room to find that our keycards no longer worked to the room we were staying in. We had to have the desk staff reassign the keycards to get access to our room with all our personal belongings. In the morning we complained the incident to the manager, who interrupted us before we were done telling the whole incident. My wife asked to see the paperwork that was signed, and he then presented two slips of paper with the same room number printed, but the room number on ours was struck with a pen and a different room number was written in ink. Both the manager and another desk attendant were very rude when we asked for a bill and copy of signed check-in slip. They started yelling and threatened to call the police when we began documenting their paperwork error with pictures. after much yelling back and forth, my wife was told that there was no bill due to room being reserved using rewards points. After insisting that we get a photocopy of signed check-in slip, we left without a clear understanding of what exactly took place. The manager never apologized for the incompetence of the hotel staff. We were woken up in the middle of the night, accused for no reason, and then humiliated for reporting THEIR error! Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else! We have never received this kind of terrible service at ANY hotel, even the budget motels. People who dont have any clue of customer service and customers legal rights should not be operating hospitality businesses!
We chose this hotel as it was close to the zoo, less than a 5 minute drive. Clean rooms, comfy beds, and quiet atmosphere. We showed up with a trailer attached to our vehicle and the staff was more than accommodating with creating parking for it. My only complaint is the pillows were way too fluffy and I ended up getting a pinch in my neck.
Overall, we were very pleased with our experience. This is the second time we have used this same Quality Inn in the last 3 months and will continue to use as needed. The Shahs -- who I believe are the owners, have stepped up each time to accommodate an early check-in for us when our travels have brought us into town earlier than expected. The only downfall is getting into and out of the parking lot -- when turning left into it or turning left to get out of it. The roadway can be very busy certain times of the day making this task difficult.
Customer service was top notch. The company rented several rooms for 2 to 3 weeks and they went out of thier way for us from making sure we had a hot breakfast before thier normal schedule to having the rooms spotless daily. Harry and his staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and stress free. I would highly recommend this quality inn to everyone!!
Honestly DONT BRING KIDS was clean but we got there and its non smoking. But online it said smoking room. We had trouble checking in cause it was a deposit that made the price not worth it. We had a 2 queen bed what we really got was 2 full size beds. My boyfriend went to the car to get food was asked if he had any drugs as someone in the vehicle parked next to ours was having sex in the vehicle. We were woke up at 5am by someone talking very loud in the hallway. The fridge made a noise that scared me I thought someone was trying to break in.
Not the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in, but not the best. That area of town seemed pretty sketchy, and my husband and I both agreed that we should have splurged on the downtown hotel (another Choice Hotel).Room was nice, but breakfast was stale. So our stay was average at best.
Great stay & the complementary breakfast was very filling! The young man, I think his name was Viraj, attending breakfast was very attentive and helpful to all guests. Will return again when in the area! Very convenient location to downtown Cincinnati, very close to Zoo!!
This is our go to property when staying in Cincinnati. Clean rooms always, nice breakfast, and the staff is as helpful as any we have ever encountered. Location close to universities, zoo, and many restaurants and bars too. Overall, never had a bad stay here, so five stars it is.

2022-05-16Hotel clerk called on the morning of my stay and said my card was being declined and if I didn’t call back by 3:00 they were canceling my room. The expiration date needed updated, so I did that and they said I was good to go. Arrived at 3:30 and none of the single bed room were ready. Dozens of people were waiting in the lobby, the AC was out, and their restrooms were closed. We decided to leave and return late that night after our concert. I checked with the front desk and he assured me it didn’t matter how late we checked in, and I reiterated that it may be after midnight. At 11:55 they called and asked if I was still coming. I said yes, and they said ok but your card is being declined. They had already charged me. I never found out what the issue was, but we finally got a room and it was so gross. There was debris/crumbs/hair all over the floor, stains all over the wall, the bathtub was chipping, the bed skirt was filthy. The only good thing I can say is the bed was comfy and the staff were polite and seemed to be trying their best despite the chaos.

2022-06-11I was working with my boss at Comfort Inn for 5 days installing new guest locks. The rooms were clean, great hot water and a fantastic tv selection. Their staff is friendly and accommodating which I believe to because of the wonderful GM. I can not say enough about how hard she works to make your stay a pleasant one. Simply the most involved GM I have ever encounters. Teresa thank you making our stay one to be remembered!!!!

2022-06-06Took about 10 minutes to just get checked in. Walking down the hallway there were carts everywhere. As soon as you enter your room youre hit with the smell of bleach and chemicals. After our stay, 3 of the 4 members I was staying with had black/brown colored feet from how dirty the floor was. The only redeeming quality was that during my stay, there was a woman who needed a cane because she couldnt see. Not 100% sure on the details of her sight but one of the employees from the front desk helped her get breakfast and told her everything there was for her.

2022-06-03Service was good but our room was dirty (bed spreads had food and dirt on them). We werent provided enough bedding for a room booked for 5 (the pull out sofa didnt have bedding and what they gave me was stained and had cigarette holes and we were given 3 towels for a booking for 5 booked months in advance). The room was non smoking but smelled of cigarette smoke. Location was close to the interstate and close to the zoo we were planning to visit.

2022-05-08Spent three nights there. The place was perfect for the price. The people at the front desk were all wonderful and helpful with their recommendations for things to do and where to eat. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel then this is not the place for you.

2022-05-29When I first came to the hotel I really wasnt in the best of spirits but when I met Shanti Arnold at the desk upon my arrival my day instantly started to turn around. She was like a breath of fresh air I was getting in a better mood and I thought wow this is awesome. My second evening the assistant general manager was working, Ola Bisi another breath of fresh air. Ive never met 2 absolutely wonderful people at a hotel as I did this trip. Thank you ladies. What a bummer trip to Cincinnati you made it all so much better. Theses ladies are keepers in the employment industry. Good job! If you stay youll see Brite sunshine in these ladies.

2022-05-10The rooms were clean and comfortable. Very typical of that type of hotel. Nothing extraordinary. Staff was really friendly and helpful.

2022-03-06Basic clean room, nothing special. Right by the express way. 4 stars because the hallways reaked of cigs/weed. And my partner said he smelled it in the bedroom too, but I didnt. You get what you pay for, we paid about $130 for one night.

2022-04-17The rooms are what you would expect. The 5 stars is for customer service. We had a few problems on check in and Terisa made everything right. Thanks for the nice stay.
